The fandoms unfathomable arrogance in demanding how RWBY should be revived

As some of you might know Dillon Goo has expressed interest in acquiring and working on reviving RWBY from its current state. He is a very talented animator who has worked with Shane Neville for quite some time now and released animations that were even shared on our subreddit. Even GLITCH animation studio has expressed a passing interest in Dillon Goo talking about RWBY.

Regardless, this has of course received a positive reception for the most part, but it did not take long for detractors to come out of the woodwork and take issue with possible involvement of Shane, and saying things like "If CRWBY isnt a part of this, im not interested" "If CRWBY isnt in this, Montys vision is ruined.

This is a rant against those people, warning, high amounts of sodium ahead

I have seen many people say that if anyone ever aquires the RWBY IP, that CRWBY should then HAVE to be hired or these people will NEVER support the projects in question. They say that its because people like Miles and Kerry know "Montys Vision", that they know what he wanted and thus without them, RWBY would not longer be RWBY.

Let us be very clear here you entitled shits. You dont have much of a choice. RWBY is dead, its laying down on the fucking medical table, its heart is no longer beating. Its clinically a corpse. Who the fuck do you think you are to make demands of any kind of revival the show can get? You are not in a position to choose or demand anything, you either accept any kind of revival of RWBY, even if its not perfect in your eyes (Welcome to the shoes of the critics) or you quit and let RWBY die.

But let us fucking remember that many people in the fandom were gleefuly saying that they will support RT and RWBY when it was revealed how mismanaged RT was and how they abused their workers. I saw multiple people go and say "Yeah, this sucks, but i will still support RT because i want RWBY to continue". We had multiple threads in r/RWBY saying to support RT so that RWBY would continue and even moralizing that people who engage in piracy are just selfish people.

You were willing to kneel before an abusive corporation and open your wallets to it without fucking question to keep RWBY going. But now when there is a possibility that RWBY might continue on and just MIGHT possibly do so without CRWBY (Which is not even a guarantee). You throw in the fucking towel? THIS was your fucking red line? CRWBY not working on the show?

At that point, just be honest and say what you really believe.

You are fucking DICKSUCKING Miles and Kerry as if they were the ONLY ones working on the show alongside Monty and know his "vision". Well, let me ask you then why in the fuck do you put so much effort in shitting on Shane huh!?

Its always "Oh, we need the people who worked with Monty" but EVERY SINGLE FUCKING time i go on twitter right now i see someone whining or being worried about "Well, but what about Shane".

Shane worked with Monty from the very fucking start! When he was eventually booted out of the company and made his open letter, most of the things in that letter were then confirmed MORE AND MORE with each passing year! He cared about Montys vision so much he was willing to call out RT before ANYONE ELSE! And we know for a FACT that MK did not follow the "vision" because the things that Monty and Shane worked on for Volume 3 were not used in Volume 3 and were then reused in later volumes.

I repeat, NONE of you shits cared about Montys "vision" nor do you genuinely care about it now. What you care about is CRWBY. What you care about is the parasocial relationship between you and creators of a show you like when it panders to you.

Because Shane was there from the very fucking start. And now hes the fandoms fucking Satan who the fandom tried so fucking hard to demonize over the years. Didnt care about Montys vision then did you!?

Oh and by the way, didnt we hear for YEARS now that there is a RWBY bible? That everything in RWBY is planned? That we had an outline for like 11-13 seasons!? Well if there exists such a bible, who gives a shit if CRWBY is involved in any kind of Volume continuation. If the bible exists anyone with skill and interest can read it and create what is meant to be created!

Of course unless the bible has always been a crock of shit fed to the fandom to try and pretend that the show wasnt writen by the fucking seat of its pants. (Which it WAS!)

So let me end with this.

Miles and Kerry are not gods. They are not angels. They are not perfect beings and bearers of the "Word of Monty" they are WRITERS! And just like with ANY part of CRWBY, the companies that might want to remake RWBY or write Volume 10 can choose to NOT take them onboard.

And that is FINE!

I do not mind if people wish or prefer that CRWBY were involved with any kind of RWBY continuation. What i fucking hate is this hypocritical DEMAND to keep CRWBY on board or otherwise "Its not real RWBY". Because i will repeat for the third fucking time.

The Fandom seems to not give even a single solitary fuck about RWBY, they seem to only care about CRWBY.

I just finished the crossover. Spoilers. This is a half baked rant filled review from both a RWBY critic and a life long DC fan.

This animation was wonky even for rwby, there wasnt any fights choreography that stuck out to me and I just finished watching this like an hour ago. Like it was so boring my mind was just not intaking anything that could stand out. Even V5 and V9 had some good fights, and both of those volumes got huge budgets cuts because of some other project being released at the time (genlock and this crossover)

The dialogue was just such a mess. And the voice acting oy vey this was rough. Rwby usually has great VA work from the main's at RT, the funimation crew, and a boat load of others. This just felt so off, like the cast was just asleep. Did the voice director just give up like a minute in?

This story was such a mess too! I know combining 2 seperate universes is always tough I wont lie, but converting DC characters with too many varying powers, Supermans multiple powers, wonder womans godly gear, Batmans Bat-everything, Flash' speed force, Cyborgs various tech, Jess' rings many capabilities, and Vixen's animal powered necklace, its all too much to convert to 4 set abilities. Semblance, Dust, Faunus additions, and Rwbys "its also a gun" weaponry isn't enough to fit what I listed off above. Just send the rwby characters to the DC universe.

And side note, just use the teen titans. No power scaling argument needed, their strong but not stronger than the league and are still stronger than the RWBY verse. Imagine Ren and any Robin understanding one another about being orphans, or any Robin and Weiss getting some development about their rich dads. Blake and Damian can get along over their troubled past, or even Starfire and Blake since their the minorities (Tamaranian and faunus) of their teams, or Raven and Blake being goth baddies! Superboy and Yang, anger issues, Yang and Cyborg, learning to live with disabilities. Imagine the chaos of Nora and Wally west and Beastboy. Hell you could even substitute the Jessica plot with Raven struggling with her powers. Theres so much more potential here!

And jesus they did not handle the rwby characters any better. They were all so full of themselves and acting high and mighty comared to the experienced hero's. I'd argue that its cuz the league isnt all there and cant remember everything. But RWBYJNR dont remember anything either! Their all in the same boat so why are rwby treating like the league hasnt fought worse threats, as mentioned Brainiac(an alien with 12th level intellect) and Vandall Savage (an immortal from the caveman times) and while im at it why is a guy thats running a breaking and very obvious simulation a such a big deal anyway?

Shipping, oh damn right im going here. I dont wanna see it, No Superman x Ruby, no Batman x Weiss, no Wonder Woman x Blake x Yang, no Jessica x Jaune, no Cyborg x Nora x Ren. NO! NONONONO we arent doing this. Did we not learn how problematic Starco was? Did RT not learn from Ryan Haywood that grown adults and teenagers shouldn't go together? Seriously im starting to think RT has a problem, I know thats an understatement but at this point im calling it a prediction.

Alright time to speed run these individual character issues

•Batman's arc on staying on Remnant was dumb. Gotham is his soul purpose, and he doesn't need powers. He has never needed them, he's always been able to overcome and keep up with these gods with his wit, skill, and tech.

•Yeah Weiss was just Batman's sidekick. She felt so disconnected from the plot I thought I was looking at V4-5 Blake. Plus why was she so persistent on keeping Batman in Remnant? Was her daddy kink that bad, is she just into older men who are trapped as teenagers? Gross.

•Superman and Ruby's arcs were weak. Ruby leader arc was just so lame, like her significant leader moment was just "sneak jessica and jaune away for a sneak attack" jesus that was lame. And Superman didn't have an arc really, his semblance unlocking, leadership, and blame for getting trapped was all super undercooked.

•The Wonderwoman, Yang, and Blake dynamic was so forgettable. Like I genuinely couldn't remember that arc, was it like a warrior thing right? And were they like... flirting? Really? NEXT!

•Oh god go back to the other one! Not the Ren x Nora x Cyborg love corner, couldnt they have done something else with these guys? This is just sad. Shame on you RT

•Oh yay, Jaune mourns over Pyrrha again. This is after V6 right, so did we have to focus on Pyrrha being desd again? Like come on let her rest, even DBZ doesn't bring up Krillin death as much. I do admit, Jaune helping Jess out was nice, their interactions were sweet.

•I did like Jess' anxiety arc, I think it was handled very tastefully and was a great way to write her character. She's too fucking adorable, her VA was one of the good one's. This actually gave her some great spotlight that we dont see much of besides DC superhero girls

•And I actually liked Vixen, design was fine and the voice was good, even if her power was heavily underutilized. But she was cool

•Barry what did they do to you? Oh Barry no! Why did they flash and make him so... nothing!? He looks like Bart and Wally mixed together. And he's the twist villian? Why didn't the technology based supervillian yake over the technology based hero!? Barry was so boring, I knew he was gonna be a side character but bro why make him the boring twist villian?

•Killg%re. Oh fuck if im not using the percentage thing im not censoring it this crossover makes me too angry to follow the rules. So boring. He calls himself so brilliant and smarter than Brainiac and Vandall savage yet his simulation was so easy to pick apart cuz the grimm, their freinds and family, their timezones, and even their own memories are so muddled anybody can pick apart this is a dream! His plan was so bad, stick the league in another dimension? Good so far. In a simulation, okay it can work. Turn them into teens so their hormones kick in? No, moronic, i hate it, I hate this! And look, out of every villian, why Killgore? The idea of a crossover is to grab your big guns and use their names to gather up your audience. If you wanted a lesser known villian who can alter reality go with BatMite, Mister Mxyzptlk, reverse flash, the Legion of Doom, or jesus anybody? Not somebody so forgettable that even KGBeast is more recognized than him.

thinkin about possible scene concerning my RT INTERVALS story.

just showing how fucked the main cast’s mental health is (and another thing related to identity and memory)

so its c!blue or c!nameless (the scene will be unclear but whoever’s in the scene is not stable at all) and someone who lost thier memory being like “its ok im fine with losing my memory i wasnt a good person those memories didnt make me a good person im happier as i am now” except. that they were c!blue’s friend. so what does that mean about thier friendship? everything they went through together? so they’re just standing there not knowing how to feel until (uh oh negative thoughts) c!mangie comes onto the scene. and c!blue’s just mixed up in how upset they are and that they want to feel happy (or should feel happy? they dont know) and then Mangie just starts wailing on c!blue emotionally and mentally but also on thier friend, doubting thier friend’s identity, making it clear they will never remember important moments together and putting it in c!blue’s head that c!blue is worthless and that thier friend threw them away (that all thier hard work was for nothing, that he was just a hedonistic prick who was using them, that the person in front of them, that worried person who cant hear c!mangie, is just a shell of a person and not the person they care about.) c!blue does try and tune out c!mangie but they fail and it’s to the point that c!mangie is effectively louder than thier friend talking to c!blue, with everytime the friend talks, c!blue just ends up spacing out because c!mangie just has something to say and to tear down

Things get slightly murderous after with c!mangie at this point altering c!blue’s perception of someone they cared about and what they even mean behind thier words (that is, if you can consider them a person anymore)

i used to super not understand OCxCanon shipping but seeing as how i started doing it i was wondering what changed from me playing ffxiv vs WoW and i think i figured it out (tl;dr will probably be "wow has mediocre writing")

i never really....liked WoW's canon characters. I mean, sylvanas is (was) cool and hot and ysera and alexstrasza too and i guess khadgar was cute for a second but i also just sorta dont give a rats ass about them. whatever happened in canon to them didnt matter to me one way or another aside from how/if it affected the main storyline.

so i figured there must be something different about the story characters in ffxiv that lets me Like them, right? and i guess this is kinda true of my feelings towards real life people as well, to a degree; the difference is, you get to KNOW them.

Using Aymeric as an example as he was my first Oh No I Love Him: while he is undoubtedly Hot (sesshomaru vibes, i have a few Types when it comes to animu boys kjfghjkkfj), i didnt really care about him at first, and actually thought he seemed kinda like a dick after the first handful of pre-HW interactions. lowkey figured he had to be one of those Secret Villains bc he has a Certain Look too lol but thats besides the point. anyways. as things progress, Aymeric becomes less The Commander Of The Temple Knights Character and becomes... a person. You get to see him have emotions, and speak casually, and care about things besides The War In The Plotline. You see him have friendships and connections and moral quandaries and regrets and he even Develops a little, in a way that is supported by the events youre actually shown and makes sense. so just like with Real Humans, I started to feel like i Knew Him, and because he also happens to be a delightful "person", I then Liked Him (seriously, not until like 1/4 of the way thru HW) so I could then accidentally get a crush on him

okay, so looking back at WoW. If I sit here and think about characters I Sorta Liked. There's that withering nightborne duder who helps you out with killing his fallen kin and then ends up falling too and we all were like NOOO about him. I guess I kinda liked him: he also had a Backstory that showed you what he Felt and what he Cared About because in order to make his little story arc tragic, they had to make us Feel for him, and Like him, so we'd actually be bummed out he dies. As u probably understand by now I cannot remember his name but that is less--RUNAS? IS THAT IT? literally mid sentence lol im not editing tho this is stream of conscious writing anyways yeah my memory is fucked up EITHER WAY; that guys just a one-off character. after that questline he becomes irrelevant, and we move on.

so who did i like who's actually like, a reoccurring character?? so, let's say, i guess, sylvanas. she's hot too (not as hot as aymeric sorry) and as usual, at first i didnt give a rats ass about her. mind u i didnt start playing until wrath and never played any of the RTS, so i didnt know her backstory for a while. once i eventually learned it, i finally felt a little sympathetic, but the recklessly deadly vengeance thing gets old pretty fast and they really didnt add anything of significance to her shown-in-game persona for a WHILE. so I didnt "like" her and i continued not to, for a long time, because she was just "the dubiously evil leader of the forsaken" to me. then the whole thing with her becoming warchief happened. watching her when voljin died made me think Aww... She Seemed Sad And Not Ready For This and i hoped to see her get some cool emotional conflicts and redemption arc stuff where she went from only caring about her own people and revenge and she started to love the horde as a whole, but instead, she flipped and did a hitler on it. i thought it was cute when she had that like. SINGLE romantic scene with nathanos because finally we saw an Emotion besides Murderer-Feeling. then they kept pulling this OoOOoH Is She Being Manipulated By Dark Forces? But Who Is The Dark Force? mystery bullshit that just seemed to go on forever--because it DID, for multiple expansions. you cant have your entire explanation of someones actions just be ~mysterious dark forces~ that long and think anyones gonna give a shit about her, can you?? then suddenly she's ripping holes into hell and the whole time its just vague, unexplained Evilness and then, oh, it was mega-satan controlling her--or is she betraying the mega devil?! oh no she's even more evil than satan, or is she good now? why? WHO KNOWS, AND WHO CARES BY THIS POINT!

and dont even start about thrall's growth and stuff because i absolutely did not feel a thing for that guy the whole time lmao

anyways youd prob say Well, Sylvanas Is A Bad Choice For This Example but the reason I chose her is bc she's the only main NPC I can think of that I ever KINDA connected to. because the game never really showed me... idk. motives. they would pull big plot twists and then fill in the blanks later with unconvincing bullshit instead of giving us behaviors based on specific morals and beliefs and drives that theyve presented in a character overall, where a plot twist can happen and we go "ohh, yeah, I get why they would decide to do that even though I didnt expect it". when they occasionally did manage to write a character i started to like, it would just be for a specific one-off questline, or just a quick Aww He Died moment briefly after introduction instead of Just Doing It With All Relevant Characters So I Actually Give A Fuck About What's Going On A Little Bit

How could the world grant him his biggest wish, just to take it away from him like that? It was just not fair.

"Y/N!" He shouts, but there's no one answering. He's unfamiliar with the human earth, he doesn't know where he is- all he really wants is to find you. to have you back, to bring you home, to keep you safe. You don't belong on this withering planet anymore- you belonged at his side, where he can protect you, and look after you. You're his- not as a property, but as a lover, as a heart, as a piece of himself.

It had all happened so fast.

He'd been away from home, just some hours to pick something up- when they had come to his house, taking you away, without his knowledge. He only figured it out after coming home, Namjoon suddenly calling him, unnaturally frantic as he asks if he had been able to hide you. Jungkook had been unsure about what he had meant- until Namjoon had explained to him that a group of humans- a movement of reclaiming the earth as they had said- had captured a ship, a massive cargo ship to 'finally go back home'. They had taken humans by force, having searched for them after stealing information, thinking those who had established relationships or wanted to stay had been brainwashed. It had all happened so fast, that when Jungkook checked the bedroom, the living room, the bathroom and even the kids room- barely any furniture put together yet- but nothing had a trace of your disappearance.

And by now, Jungkook as well as others determined to get their human companions and partners back, had boarded the police ships to help with the search.

But Jungkook had no idea where he was. Maybe he had been placed in an entirely wrong place, he thought; but then he had found the now abandoned cargo ship, and his determination had been refueled after finding your collar in a pile of others, cut through like a visible reminder of what had happened. He's roaming around like a starving animal; cat like eyes scanning every movement he can catch, inner hunter coming to the surface as his instincts take over. He has to bring you back home, has to bring you back to his own safe space, where he can look after you. You're so vulnerable now, so fragile, such an easy target. You're not just his human, his property or partner- you're the mother of his child, keeper of his heart, and meaning of his life at this point.

You're his soulmate, he desperately believes in that.

But you're not there, he can't find you, and he doesn't know how long he can stand this.

There's silence around him, although the ship itself is loud, roaring as the engines bring him away again from earth- from the planet you came from, and he remembers the day he'd brought you with him.

This time however, he's all alone, apart from other alcorians, woman and men alike, visibly as defeated as he was. Some hold onto the remnants of belongings of their partners, lovers, and friends- others simply sit in silence, and some console each other in their sadness.

He can't look outside the small window, can't do it, as if he's scared of catching a glimpse of you. He doesn't want to believe yet that you're not with him anymore, that you're somewhere he doesn't know. He had promised you again and again that he'd keep you safe, that he'd protect you, and yet he had failed at the end. Not only you, but his own child as well- having failed to even give it a chance to see the world- anything- with their own eyes. He's failed to keep an eye on his family.

Maybe this was his punishment for it.

Jungkook doesn't cry often- Alcorian men rarely ever do, simply because there's no reason most of the time. But in that moment, in the dimly lit section of the ship he's sitting in, he does. He cries, quietly, as it grows silent after breaking orbit. There's no going back, no chance for a movie-like encounter of you running after the ship and barely making it inside. No. You're probably still on earth somewhere, maybe you're hurt-

Maybe worse.

And it hits him even worse as his mind suddenly has to think of the possibility that no, his entire search had been futile after all, because what if you had already passed somewhere, by the hands of cruel mother nature or someone else? He can't think straight anymore, as he lets the emotions flow through him, stars passing by as he curls in on himself.

Just wanting to be left alone.

The nightmares don't stop for him, not at all.

They continue now more than before, without your form resting next to his in bed to reassure him that you're safe. Because nowadays, he doesn't have that luxury. He doesn't know if you're safe.

By now, he thinks as he looks at the alarm clock showing the date, Heejin would be born.

He realizes with an aching heart, that he won't be there to see it. He doesn't even know if it will even happen- if it already happened. He's not there to know, because you're far away from him, and he doesn't even care about the tears already falling out of his eyes, staining the pillow underneath his head. He doesn't care about anything, can only focus on your faint scent still lingering on his sheets and pillows.

He's heard about Alcorians loosing their partners before, and it had never been pretty. Most grow depressed for a while, but they move on. But you weren't simply his partner. You're not. You're not only the mother of his child. You're not only a lover.

You're his mate.

And he knows for a fact, that mates can't move on. He has to think about the future, when his sheets and home loose any trace of you, when his entire life will move on without you at his side. He knows he won't be able to just move on, because how could he ever?

His heart clenches at the though. He just wants to sleep.

If you could see him, you wouldn't recognize him at all.

Sweet and gentle Jungkook, with eyes blood red and sharpened canines on full display, as he pushes his hands down the man's throat, anger his driving force. He doesn't even know why, why it set him off so much, but it did- and now, the poor man underneath him struggles to breathe, nails scratching on Jungkooks wrists- but its nothing for him. He had been outside, going home after a short meetup with Jin and Namjoon- both as sad as he was, but not as bad physically- when he had spotted the pale figure currently fighting against his hold. Its useless.

A human can't just push off an alcorian.

"Fuck- y/N!" He gets out, and Jungkooks eyes widen, as he leaves the man's throat alone, instead standing up as he grabs him by his clothing, easily pushing him against the streetlamp with enough force to make it softly sway. He lets the stranger cough, but watches him with the same eyes- their color nothing you would've ever seen before. They're violent, dark, they're nothing like Jungkook. "She's with- god fuck.." The young man coughs again, rubbing his throat. "She's with Taehyung and Jimin at my place. We hid." He says.

"How can I trust you?" Jungkook says, voice deep and without any emotions. "For all I know, you could be one of them." He says, and the man nods, making Jungkook furrow his brow in confusion.

"You can't. I admit that." He says. "But what am I supposed to do to you, huh?" He smirks, resting the back of his head against the cold metal of the streetlamp, raven black hair falling over his eyes. "I had to find you, but I didn't know-" He clears his throat. "I didn't know where you lived. When I found her, she was heavily pregnant, and confused, weak. I couldn't just drag her out and let her guide me, you know?" He explains. "We had a baby to deliver, shit went down, and finding you moved into the back of my mind, no offense." He says.

Jungkooks eyes widen, features soft and desperate, as his eyes change back to their honeycomb color. "I- How is she? How is my baby? Where are they?!" He hurries out, accidentally shoving the man a little too forceful.

"Ah fuck- break my back and you'll never know." He jokes, and Jungkook moves back, leaving him alone for the moment. "Come on then. I'll explain along the way." He says.

You hold your hands over your ears as you try and blend out the roaring of the cargo ship departing. You're supposed to be on it- they've cut off your collar, had told you you've been talked into things, that they'd be making everything right again. You had panicked, jumping out the ship last second as you had hid behind a container, scared to death.

Its then, that you can spot a pair of worn down boots stopping in front of your scratched up knees. For a moment you forget that you have your hands over your ears, that you can't hear, but you remember as the person squatted. "Hey- you okay?" He mouths, and its when you spot Taehyung and Jimin behind him, that you let your tears flow, glad to see them. You slowly let your hands fall down as you don't care about anything; falling into the strangers arms in front of you. You may not know his name; but he's a familiar face, and right now, thats all you need. He's a bit stiff, but relaxes after a moment, softly patting your back. "You're alright, we got you. Can you stand up?" He asks, voice low and surprisingly comforting as you nod, hissing a bit as you finally stand.

Your growing belly is making things increasingly difficult these days.

Taehyung is unsure, but clicks his tongue after a second; holding your arm to aid you in walking as you walk together with the small group, the pale man leading the way. Its stressful, and you're unsure for a moment, until you reach the stairway of an apartment building, the stairs too much as Jimin opens the elevator. "We have to be quick, we don't know if theres still people searching." He says, a kind smile sent your way as he pushes some of your hair out of your way.

"Guys." You say, as the elevator rises up. Everyone turns to you. "I know this is horrible- fuck.! -horrible timing, but the baby is coming." You grit out, as Taehyungs eyes widen, instantly looking at Jimin and the stranger for any sign of knowledge in what to do.

"Are you sure?" He asks, and you scoff, unable to hide your demeanor as you try and stay upright.

"I literally have had this child inside of me for months, Taehyung." You say. "If I say I'm about to give birth, I am about to give birth." You say, and Jimin holds your other arm, as the pale man with the black hair unlocks an apartment door- probably his, you guess.

You're scared, and you honestly know for a fact that you almost black out here and there. But once your child begins to cry out, and the human stranger gives it to you, hands careful in holding it while Jimin does his best to aid in everything with the knowledge that Jin had taugh him prior, you can't help but smile. Your child is everything to you, right from the start, and you know, there's nothing you had to worry about. You may didn't have the connection Jungkook had with his child- but you knew, this connection was just as precious.

You slowly turn your head to the side, the young man sitting in a corner, back against the wall as he looks at you. Theres no smile on his face, he looks quite stoic- but his eyes are gentle, they're warm. "You never told me your name." You say, voice barely above a whisper, as you can feel yourself drift off, Jimin chewing on his lip as he tells Taehyung to bring more towels.

The young man smiles, slightly, but you can see it. "As I said, I don't remember." He tells you. "Call me whatever you want, I guess." He says.

"Okay." You say, and the young man smiles, swallowing thickly, as he looks down; you assume he doesn't want you to see him vulnerable. "Thank you." You tell him.

"No." He answers. "Thank you."

When Jungkook sees you, he doesn't care about the small bandage wrapped around your arm, or the blood stained towels, or the scratches on your knees. He doesn't care about your tired form, skin still a little pale and eyes exhausted. He doesn't care about anything; in his eyes, you're glowing, you're alive, you're existing right there in front of him. Like a goddess herself you're radiating as you sit on the couch, Jimin at your side before he moves away, making space for Jungkook as he slowly walks closer. You've got a small bundle of blankets in your arms, and he knows, instinctively, what it is.

He can feel it.

There's a certain pull, like a magnet that pushes him closer, as he walks towards you. He wants to know how, where, but in that moment, he doesn't care. He only sees you, and the small being in your arm; and he can't take his eyes off of her, that living child that you both have created. Heejin slowly opens her eyes, bright orbs looking at him; her cat-like pupils contracting and dilating as if to train their adjustment already.

She's beautiful.

His hands move slowly, scared even, as if all disappears as soon as he touches. But it stays, and she's so warm, as he moves to rest on his knees, his head falling next to his newborn daughter, resting, for the first time in days, finally close to you again.

"She's done it all by herself." Jimin comments, and Jungkook only moves his eyes towards him in the room, a silent way of telling him he's listening. "When we found her, she was still up and walking." He says, and Jungkooks hands move closer to you.

"I couldn't have done it without you all." You say, and a hand reaches into Jungkooks hair, and he wants to cry, but he's so tired, and you smell so nice, like home. He falls asleep right then and there, uncaring of anything.

He has you back, at his side.

Right where you belong.

His eyes rip open as he jumps up in his bedroom, window open and his clothes still on.

It had all been a dream, hadn't it?

He sighs out as he laughs bitterly, getting up from his bed as he stumbles over your shoes- a bitter reminder of your former presence in his home. He doesn't care about the light guiding his way, he simply leaves it shut off- his eyes able to see just fine at night as he walks into the kitchen to grab himself a glass of water.

Its when he puts it away and walks back into his bedroom that he stops, as he watches you climb into his bed, stopping midway as you smile at him. "You seemed tired earlier, Jin had to carry you to bed after we came home- go change and come to bed, yeah?" You say, as you look towards the opened door leading into Heejin's bedroom. "She's finally asleep now." You whisper, and Jungkook simply climbs into bed, pulling his shirt over his head with tired arms as he rids himself of most his clothes- needing to be close to you.

"I though I'd lost you." He whispers against your neck as he pulls you close, uncaring about the cold outside air nipping at his now bare skin. "Again." He says. He feels your warm body against him, and thats all he needs, he thinks to himself. You begin to tell him that you're there now, but he shakes his head, lips ghosting over the skin as he speaks quietly. "I thought I'd dreamed it all." He said.

"You didn't." You say. "I'm right here." And Jungkook nods, holding you a bit tighter.

"Right where you belong."

What Vtuber Ruby and Miles cameos say, matter (kinda).

So, a day or so ago we have had people discuss about Rubys Vtubing appearances and the things she has said on video. People have had mixed opinions on what was said, some people think its not a problem, others think its a problem, some others dont care. So, i wanted to chime in on this entire discussion and why in my opinion this, and the cameos that Miles makes matter and are not "irrelevant".

Disclaimer

Before i start, i will note. I dont really think that these things are HUGE problems and "OH NO, THIS RUINS THE SHOW" or any other nonsense. Some people have seen these things way too negatively. But i also think that people who say that it doesnt matter at all are taking 2 way too extreme positions.

Lore Swiss Cheese

One of the main problems of RWBY has, for a long time, been the very vague concepts of what is canon and the in-show lore. From the very start of the show, it had commentary tracks, the creators talking about the show etc. Despite not being in the show itself, we have had many tidbits of information (such as Rubys favourite food) and the like given to us in outside of canon content. And it has not just been some minor things either. Ironwoods semblance basically does not exist in the show, and yet it seems to exist in lore, and it was shared with us from outside the show.

And later on, after V3, RWBY has received a lot of different media that expands on its lore and are considered canonical, despite sometimes never appearing on the show, or even creating very weird situations where something is conspicuous by absence in the show itself. For example, we have a very often discussed topics of V7-8 of the defense of Mantle/Atlas. One of the discussion points have always been how weirdly weak the defenses of the kingdom are. While one could chalk that up to people having an "inflated" view of Atlas military, but we have been canonically told and shown a lot of Atlas tech that is conspicuous by absence in the show.

Automated turrets, different versions of Atlesian Knights etc, which were said to be canonical in Amity:Arena. Or for example stealth tech. Yea, Atlas has stealth tech, like, genuine stealth. Its in one of the books. And yet nowhere in the show.

We have two canonical games, Grimm Eclipse and Arrowfell, with characters and concepts in them that have never been seen in the show. Has anyone ever seen team BRIR in the show? Heard of them? Maybe the tech from Arrowfell would kinda be useful, even if outdated against the Grimm invasion? What about the outlying Atlesian villages? Are they just dead at this point? Where the heck is Thornmane? He gets captured and hes nowhere in jail even as a cameo? And why does noone talk about Grimm Eclipse? Tech enchanced Grimm seem like a bit of a topic that kinda should be discussed sometime, no!?

We also have the comic books with various questionable canonical decisions including Raven turning into a bird to fuck with child Ruby. Blakes involvement with Adam which is somewhat weird because the comic books try to humanize Adam while the show demonizes him.

And let us not forget the whole "Canon Adjacent" nonsense where RT cant even come out and say that its obviously non-canon stories like Ice Queendom and even crossovers with DC are not canon. They cant even come out and say that!

Oh, and of course, i just remembered, the Grimm DnD campaign which is also apparently canon!

The reason i am listing all of these summarized versions of the multiple lore issues that the show has is that the lore of RWBY, is swiss cheese. It has lore that is given partially in so many different places, including in out of universe that its almost impposible to follow it properly, and if you do try, you are only going to get more confused because the main show feels like completely separate from it all, despite being in the same lore.

Vtubing and Cameos matter

And this brings me to of course the very simple claim, that due to the fact that the lore is already swiss cheese, these statements made in Vtubing and Cameos actually matter. Because even if they are not stated to be directly canonical, the lore is already so incredibly fucked and unclear (To the point that some people cant even decide if DC RWBY comics are even canon or not!) that adding these examples to the mix? Its just bad practice. Because at the end of the day, Vtubing Ruby, IS Ruby. She is played as in-universe Ruby, by the same Voice Actress, hosted by the SAME company.

And it matters especially because these things DO affect the FNDM. People who say that these things should be easily ignored are missing one key aspect. A lot of the FNDM are affected by these. BB being a key example. No, im not going to argue that the FNDM forced RT to make it canon. What i WILL argue is that the toxicity of BB community and its rabidness was intentionally cultivated AND enabled by RT. Does it matter that the BB song is not canon? No, it did not. Its not canon in the show and yet it made pro-BB and anti-BB crowds hysterical. Same for the song that was made for Blacksun. These songs directly contributed to the shipping wars. The various moments of people like Barbara also indulging the shippers just further fueled that entire movement.

Hell, the same can be said for Qrow x Winter shippers. While it was never a big thing one of the main "fuels" it had for a long time was because Vic and the VA for Winter interacted in a single panel. Or lets remember the whole "Vibrator function" which is OBVIOUSLY not canon, yet has become a part of often referenced and established fanon.

RWBY does not have a stable FNDM, i know, im a part of it. It does not matter if something is or is not canonical when not only are the lines of canon/noncanon blurred to barely existing, but the FNDM can often take things very far to fuel their expectations, wishes, and behaviour.

Especially when it can fuel what i will refer to as simply exploitative behaviour.

Cameos. Cameos, in my opinion are a fine way for VA's to make money. Such as many other things like, for example, music producers reviewing songs, voice coaches evaluating singing etc. Such content has cropped up maybe 4-5 years ago now and imo, is a fine thing.

But like any thing, imo, there are good and bad ways to do this kind of content. When for 40 bucks, one can ask one of the main WRITERS of the show questions about the shows world and opinions about things like ships. That is, imo, a bit far. Not only does that give an incentive for people to pay money for extra snippets of lore, but also, a way for people to validate their beliefs of ships and other such things. Because that is what his Cameo is all about. Its not VA work, its his words, in relation to his work as a writer for the show. And considering the earliest cameos and Ironwood discussions, that in my opnion is NOT a good thing.

The BB Onlyfans thing is ALSO an example of that, that i think was bad. Once again, disclaimer. I think that OF is fine, you want to do it? Go ahead, i paid for Markipliers photos, i aint ashamed, hes hot. I think it becomes at least slightly concerning however, when the VA's of a controversial ship decide to do an underwear photoshoot together with the same theme as their character in-show relationship.

Because...

Parasociality

A parasocial relationship is feeling a connection with a persona/thing that does not know of your existance or only humours you. Celebrities, sports teams etc.

RT has, for a long time cultivated a STRONG parasocial relationship with the FNDM. There is a reason why they pretend to be down to earth, why they pretend that they are not a corporation and why even to this day, some RT fans STILL believe that RT is some kind of "indie company". There is nothing inherently wrong with having it. Its kind of even unavoidable.

But what RT does is Cynically abuse that relationship. Just like any other corporation. Overworking animators for example? Part of that has been parasociality, people willing to work for their "loved" company etc.

Things like Miles Cameo, the BB photoshoot? The Vtuber Ruby? They are meant to encourage parasociality. To make it seem like the people, the watchers are "closer" to people performing or related to the show. Its all a cynical ploy to get people to pay money, to watch RWBY etc.

There is a reason why even after the RT expose not too long ago, people just went ahead and forgot about it. There is a reason why RWBYTubers that have previously condemned RT for their BS are now shouting at people to support RWBY, supressing those who criticized V9 and are encouraging people to buy merch.

Its all parasocial BS. BS that leads to extreme behaviours.

Such as, but not limited to - Biphobia, Homophobia, calling people facists for liking characters, calling people abuse apologist, groomers, Stalking. Just to name a few.

Also... On an ending note

Its just shit Vtubing

Consider this an unrelated tangent. I watch Vtubers relatively often, usually clips but sometimes i catch streams. Vtuber lore is usually irrelevant even in corporate settings. What people come to watch are the streamers themselves who usually partially play a character but mostly just act like themselves. Not really being lore accurate is not really of importance.

The thing is, those Vtubers usually dont have really established settings and they stream Multiple hours a day, so it all makes sense.

Why in the fuck is the Vtuber Ruby Rose, not acting like Remnant Ruby Rose!? Im not expecting deep lore drops here. But for crying out loud, why make statements that Rabbits or magic dont exist? Ruby Rose being visiting Earth is an AMAZING roleplaying set-up!

There is no dust, no aura, no Grimm! So many differences between the worlds that Ruby Rose can notice and act out! "Oh anime? We have our own version of that! One of the most watched shows is Sailor Sun! (Because the moon is broken)".

Its just a concept that can pay-off so much! Its an isekai in Vtubing form! As far as im aware Vtuber Ruby Rose doesnt even stream daily so its even easier to stay in character! So why in the bloody hell are we getting Dora of Explorer levels of childishness?

this is satire & note that i write the reader to be a few months younger than tommy (besides that, i think it is fully inclusive !)

synopsis : you put all your hard work towards a useless crush. with no expectation for reciprocated feelings in the first place, it still all ends in a bittersweet slap to reality.

you grew up with minecraft and it was an understatement to say it was part of your childhood

even years later, you still maintained interested in the game

it wasn’t just a simple video game, the community inspired you to do many things

you aspired to be like the creators you watched at a young age like sky, dantdm, cupquake, stampy, and many more

making people happy and entertained was a dream

and when minecraft slowly began trending again in 2019, you started making your own content whenever you felt like it out of fun

you never got much views but it was an enjoyable experience nonetheless

but it wasn’t until the first minecraft monday you decided to push a bit more with your hobbies and worked hard to make it somewhere

however balancing your passions with school wasn’t the easiest

given, you were still only around 15 and your content wasn’t even that good

with not much of a goal or plan with your youtube channel, you fell out of interest eventually

you loved minecraft but you always a rocky relationship with it; getting back into it for a few months then pretending it never really existed for another few

besides the occasional videos you watched in your pass time, you didn’t stay that updated

then lockdown happened

it changed everything and even got you regressing back to old interests

soon enough you were back to minecraft

there was so much to catch up on

hermitcraft season 7 just started, there was minecraft championships, and smp earth and smp live, and so much more to look forward to watching

you were a bit late on both of the smps but your interest peaked specially towards smp earth and it didn’t stop you from watching the past videos

you first gravitated towards a certain youtuber’s videos first since you remember stumbling onto his videos before from your recommended page; wilbur soot

besides recognizing him from his you laugh you lose series and making parody-type of songs, you didn’t know much

however with a few clicks, you had binge watched his smp earth series effortlessly

you found yourself falling down the endless hole, finding more creators to watch through wilbur

one in particular caught your eye in an interesting way

my god, how can someone be so annoying and pushy in these videos? like shut up already

and to find out he was barely months older than you frustrated you

you just wanted to be better in some way

if someone like him could be popular, why can’t you? yelling at others and causing problems didn’t seem that hard

and so you went back to working hard on your previously failed youtube channel but this time with a goal; be better than tommyinnit

it was a weird aspiration in your head but it worked

he was your age and successful, why need a better motivator?

tommy wasn’t the sole reason why you strive to make content since you truly did want to create videos to entertain people like the youtubers you originally grew up watching

and with the amount of free time you had, you thoroughly analyzed his content; what was the most popular, how he streamed, edited his videos, everything

you just completely studied the algorithm in general

along the way, tommy’s personality grew on you

tommy was undoubtedly a very loud and energetic person but you became fond of his ambitions

you understood why he was popular at such a young age; he was a natural entertainer

your spite towards the boy turned into a hope

a hope to be at par with him someday and even be mutuals

and it was like your dreams were suddenly manifested into existence

you gained a large following in the early months of lockdown and even was recognized to be apart of minecraft championships

it felt like yesterday that you were just watching your favorite youtubers livestream the same competition

and now you were situation in a team to play yourself for the first time instead of being a viewer for once

not to mention, with tommyinnit as a teammate

how did you manage to get so lucky?

under the excitement, you felt beyond never nervous waiting in the empty discord call for your team to join you to practice the mini-games

in the middle of gathering your thoughts together, you heard a sound from discord signaling someone joined the call

“uh, hello?”

you heard the familiar british accent you spent hours listening to from countless streams and videos

“h-hi! i’m y/n, how are you?”

you hoped tommy couldn’t hear the strain in your voice due to fighting your nerves, but you quietly celebrated that you didn’t freeze up altogether

“oh i’m good, thank you. and i’m tommy by the way, this is the first time we’re speaking, yeah?”

“yep! it’s nice to meet you”

“yeah, i’ve seen your name around the timeline a few times, you seem cool”

oh my god what?

“thanks! um i actually really enjoy your content not gonna lie”

“oh wow, good shit!”

and the conversation smoothly went on, bouncing back and forth between you two before your other two teammates joined the call

once everyone was situated, you decided to start streaming since it was your first mcc and you wanted a vod of you practicing to look at later on as a memory

your chat immediately noticed how much you were enjoying yourself, especially after all the short stories of talking about who inspired you in the past

the smile plastered on your face never left

after stream and your other teammates went offline, it was you and tommy left in the call once together again
