❃How EXO acts around their crush❃

a/n: This is 10000% just for my own pleasure. I may have had this in my drafts for weeks... I am totally okay with all the Kyungsoo solo content and EXO ladder dropping. Totally. Super functional, delusional who?

ALSO to any EXO-L that are sharing Chen's LEAKED wedding photos. Please be respectful and either delete them or, at the very least, blur out his wife's face. Chen has gone to great lengths to safeguard her privacy, as she is not famous nor wants to be in the spotlight. Not to mention that there could be crazy sasaengs out there with ill intent. Sharing her info is basically doxing, and it is insane to me how many people shared these posts without much thought. Anyway, I needed to share my frustrations.

Xiumin/Minseok:

✾ He is a lot shyer than the other members; where most of EXO probably feels comfortable enough to act on their crushes, he is a bit more reserved. He wants to test the waters first, ascertaining whether the feeling is mutual. Whenever you are around and are talking to other people, he sits back silently, observing your reactions.

✾ Xiumin is smiling so widely around you that the other members worry that his muscles might start cramping up soon. The moment he sees you, his bubbly personality starts to really shine through, and sometimes you can't help but wonder whether this man truly is 33.

✾ That being said, from the moment that anyone offers Xiumin a couple of drinks, his confidence spikes, and he will start flirting with you. His flirting is still extremely sweet and cute; Xiumin can be incredibly charming when he wants to be.

Suho/Junmyeon

✾ He is such a gentleman around you, trying to make you feel at ease with his kind gestures. Whether it is him pulling back a chair or opening a door for you, he will do anything to make you feel like a princess.

✾ Being one of EXO's proud black card owners, he will casually buy you whatever you need. He keeps repeating that he wants to treat his friends when you try to interject. You can't completely refute it; he does spend a lot of money on the members. Yet, you can't help but feel like his gifts are slightly too expensive and excessive for 'just friends'.

✾ So. Many. Soft. Glances. Suho looks at you like you hung the moon and the stars; you catch him staring at you almost every time you look over. Conversations with him can, therefore, be a tad awkward. He doesn't always register what you are saying; he is so absorbed in watching you that he forgets to listen.

✾ The other members relentlessly tease him for it. If you don't catch on based on Suho's actions, you will definitely catch on due to his members' relentless teasing. Whenever he does anything remotely romantic around you, their faces light up like Christmas came early. The members are not subtle about it whatsoever, thoroughly enjoying putting their leader in a slightly uncomfortable position.

Baekhyun:

✾ The members didn't think it was possible, but Baekhyun somehow became louder. It is as if he wants to draw your attention simply by screaming, as he no longer has any volume control when you are around. Everyone can hear your conversation from across the room, and his laughter becomes borderline obnoxious as it overpowers any other sound.

✾ He is such a tease and a suggestive one at that. Considering he has no problem revealing intimate, not suitable to be aired on national TV, details about the members' bodies, he won't have any trouble suggestively flirting with you. Where Xiumin's pick-up lines are cute, Baekhyun's are far from it. Give this man some holy water, Jesus.

✾ He is so intense with his flirting that it sometimes crosses the line of sexy to parody, coming off as a joke. Baekyhyun has a very flirty personality and isn't above flirting with his friends. Even though he isn't subtle about his crush, he can accidentally fall into the "he flirts with everyone" category, making you question whether he genuinely likes you or is just being friendly.

✾ He really enjoys the chase when it comes to relationships. Thus, it will take him quite some time before he asks you out, simply because he likes the push-and-pull game.

Chanyeol

✾ There is nothing subtle about Mr. Park Chanyeol. The moment he sees someone he wants to date, he is going for it full steam ahead. Puppy Chanyeol is momentarily retired as he makes his way over to you; Chanyeol knows that he is handsome and sexy, and he is ready to show it to you. I hope you weren't interested in anyone else because the moment you return any of his interest, he will be flirting with you like there is no tomorrow.

✾ Internally, he is so excited to be talking to you, and sometimes, you will see glimpses of his cute puppy-like persona, especially once he feels like you are just as interested. Still, the words coming out of this man's mouth, Jesus part two. Please go and ask Baekyhun to pass the holy water.

✾ That being said, he will get embarrassed when the other members are around or slightly bashful when you return his flirting at full force. I don't think Chanyeol is used to anyone sharing his level of intensity, so once you do, he gets a bit flustered. He absolutely loves it, though. Your compliments got him grinning from ear to ear.

D.O./Kyungsoo

✾ Don't get me wrong, I adore this man to a delusional extent, but he is absolutely hopeless when it comes to communicating with his crush. He won't go anywhere near you if he can't help it; he prefers looking at you from afar. He is someone who favours being approached first over approaching you himself. It isn't that he doesn't want to talk to you; he simply isn't the type of person to initiate contact with his crush and tends to stay back when he can tell that someone else is interested, too.

✾ Even if he finds himself near you, don't expect him to have a full-blown conversation with you. He already tends to be a man of little words, but when it comes to you, he is a man of not a single word. Being around you is enough to make him happy; he doesn't really need to have a deep conversation.

✾ Nevertheless, his actions make more than up for it. He is such a gentleman, being the definition of preferential treatment. You don't have a chair to sit on? He will quietly offer you his. Your sweater got caught on something? He will silently help you get it out. Although he may not say much to you, he communicates his feelings through his actions.

Kai/Jongin

✾ If you think Xiumin or Kyungsoo are shy, you have not yet met Kai with a crush. He turns into absolute mush the moment he sees you, giggling and blushing whenever you do as much as breathing. You can't even see him because he has resorted to hiding behind the other members, preferably Sehun or Chanyeol, as they are tall enough to obscure him completely.

✾ If he somehow musters up the courage to talk to you, good luck having it go anywhere because he can barely make it through a sentence without giggling. It is obvious to everyone around him that he is smitten with you; his laughs are awkwardly loud, and his eyes are literally shooting hearts.

✾ The moment he manages to ask you to dance, his shy demeanour completely changes. His movement… His expressions… The way he is smirking at you… Maybe you should go and ask Chanyeol whether there is anything left of the holy water he borrowed from Baekyhun.

Sehun

✾ He has one of two ways of acting around his crush: either he acts super bratty or becomes painfully shy. It depends on whether he has met and talked to you before. But, if you are complete strangers, he would be so quiet, hiding in the furthest corner he can find.

✾ He will pester the members to go over and collect as much information as they can about you. They will do it because he will whine the entire night about it if they don't and, repeat with me, what Sehun wants, Sehun gets. The members try to convince Sehun to go talk to you himself, but Sehun stubbornly refuses. Bro will be playing the Maknae card harder than he ever has in his entire life.

✾ In the end, he will drag Suho with him, trying to 'casually' strike up a conversation with you. The small talk is painful, and in all honesty, Suho, with his dad jokes, isn't helping in the slightest. At the very least, it provides the two of you with a new conversational topic: the teasing of Suho.

How would they express their feelings for the reader?

a/n: thank you for requesting <3 i did this thinking about love languages, i hope it's okay!

minseok:

acts of service.

minseok has a beautiful way with words, but most of the times he gets awkward to say them out loud, so he learned his love language is acts of service. whenever he sees you're feeling down, he'll do something nice for you, so more often than not you'll get home to him cleaning up the house, finishing that task you've been trying to do for weeks but work just wouldn't let you, or all dressed up waiting for you so he can take you out and treat you with a nice meal.

he always says "i love you" at the end of a phone call or before leaving, but more than that, he tends to show you he loves you through his acts.

junmyeon:

gifts.

i know we all (fans and members) joke about junmyeon being rich and spending all his money as he wants, but somehow he learned that giving gifts is also a love language.

don't get me wrong, he doesn't think he can win people over with that. but if you see and like a nice little pair of earrings, what's the matter with him buying it for you? if you complain to him that you're having a shitty day, is really that bad for him to buy you your favorite desert and get it delivered at your work? if you're the love of his life, the one he's sure he wants to spend the eternity with, can't he buy a new house for the two of you where you can start a family together?

yixing:

physical touch.

zhang yixing is one of the softest boys out there. he has a busy schedule and he always puts work first, so sometimes he can't be around you as much as he'd want. so whenever he has some time to spend with you, believe me - he'll be all over you. he will kiss you every chance he have, hug you even if all you're doing is brushing your teeth, lean on your shoulder while you're watching your favorite show.

yixing always makes you feel loved, wanted. he's forever grateful for all the support you give him, for all the times you let him go with a smile on your face because he needed to persue his dreams. he may write a few songs about the way he feels about you, but he rather show you through his touch.

baekhyun:

quality time.

baekhyun knows exactly what he wants and how he wants, so he has confessed to you before. but the funny thing you've realized is, baekhyun is so full of love but has been hurt so many times, that he tries not to talk about his feelings a lot - he's lowkey scared it will all happen again if he wear them on his sleeve.

so, to always remind you how much he loves you and how he cares about you, he learned to just spend some time with you. and it's so natural to him, to turn off the world and just focus on you, give you his full attention; watching your every move, listening to your every word, doing whatever makes you happy - always with a smile on his lips and eyes overflowing with tenderness.

jongdae:

words of affirmation.

have you seen jongdae? he's the walking form of words of affirmation. he is always reminding you how amazing you are, how he's grateful for all the things you do for him, how he knows you're capable of anything you want.

he might not be the one to give you the best birthday gift ever, for an example, but he will always be the one to make you cry at his beautiful words. he might not always be around when you need a hug, but he's always just a call away whenever you're facing some trouble and needs someone to tell you "i love you" and "i believe in you" - and jongdae does, from the bottom of his heart.

chanyeol:

acts of service & physical thouch.

chanyeol is a mix of both, i think. he's the human definition of a golden retriever, i swear! whenever you're sad or need some reassurance, chanyeol hugs you and pulls you closer to his chest because he solemly believe - but won't ever admit it - that how much he loves you emanates from his body and it can heal you.

apart from that, he also likes to shows you that he loves you through his actions rather than words, so don't be surprised if you ever come home and oh, that photo you two took together last month on a trip is now hanging on your wall. (:

kyungsoo:

acts of service.

if you think kyungsoo isn't good with his words, you're right. he has some trouble talking about his feelings, so very early on his life he learned that he can show gratitude and love through his actions. he tends to care for those around him, especially the ones who has done a lot for him too, so of course it wouldn't be different with you.

you also realized this as soon as you two got together. it isn't unusual for kyungsoo to only smile and nod when you tell him you love him, followed by either him bringing you food because you're so busy with work or letting you sleep till noon even though it's his day off and you were supposed to be together - you deserve that rest and he worries about your health because he loves you, so it's okay.

jongin:

physical touch.

there's a very specific moment in one of superm's lives that jongin holds baekhyun's fingers and keeps playing with them for such a long time... that's how he acts with you too.

jongin does say he loves you, very often actually, but you feel that everytime he touches you - which he also does a lot. he's always touching you somehow, from pulling you close everytime he laughs to just touching shoulders while watching something on the couch. he needs that warmth, he craves that from his lover, and he can only hope that it's enough to show you that hey, he's so in love with you (spoiler alert: it is more than enough).

sehun:

gifts.

poor baby doesn't know how to show love. perhaps, since he's not only exo's maknae but also the youngest from his family, he has always been spoiled and showered with love in so many ways that he doesn't know how to pay back. the only way he gets to do it, and that's also a little bit of junmyeon's fault, is through gift giving.

sehun showers you with gifts every chance he gets. anything you want, name it and it's yours - or don't name it, because sehun learned how to read you so everytime you see something, check the price and be like "hm, that's too expansive" DO NOT be fooled, give sehun barely two weeks and the thing you wanted it's on your hands. he'll spoil you rotten if you let him, but don't blame him, it's his way to say "i love you so much, thank you for taking care of me".

Sehun as your boyfriend

- i’m back (i’m posting this and disappearing again for a year)

The Beginnings:

He’d be so awkward in the most endearing way, running his hands through his hair and fumbling around you.

I think he’d ask you out in the first week of knowing you, he’s a busy man has no time for waiting around.

Plus he’d be worried that someone else would catch your attention if he waited too long so...

Would probably ask one of the boys to talk to you first, have them hype him up and see whether you might be interested.

He thinks this is very clever and discreet but funnily enough you know what’s up when Chanyeol starts talking about Sehun’s shiny hair and his family’s long history of genetic health.

He strikes me as a bowling man. First date would definitely be bowling and then maybe heading to a latenight diner splitting a milkshake omg

After dating a while:

Orange cat dad, definitely. I will not explain.

He’s very patient, always willing to listen to anything on your mind - even if it’s about him.

His relationship with you would help him to mature.

I hope you’re patient too though cos this is still Sehun, man is goofy.

A lot of childish teasing, stuff like turning the lights off when he leaves the room or leaving the door open forget what I said about maturity actually

Not the jealous type. He thinks you’re the most gorgeous person in the world but you also know how to handle yourself if anyone tries to rizz you up.

Most he’ll do is throw an aggressive side-eye their way.

Loooves to treat you. That necklace you admired? Here you go. The restauarant you want to try out? Already booked a table. The vacation spot you’re desperate to visit? Get ready the plane leaves tonight.

On that note, he is the opposite of an airport dad, pack his passport for him and get him one of those toddler leashes head empty no thoughts

For your anniversary he’d do something lowkey and romantic, driving you both out to the countryside with a big blanket and spending the night stargazing together.

Habits and other shit:

Always goofin, would consider back and forth banter as flirting, you’ll have to be able to keep up with the sass.

This might lead to little spats here and there but since they’re not serious you can make up quickly.

If it ever came to real arguments he’d need to leave for a while to clear his head, take a walk with the dogs before coming home to stutter an apology.

He struggles to communicate seriously sometimes but he always wants you to know he adores you.

You’d both get into hiking, especially with having the dogs. They’re a great way to spend time together, productively but still somewhat intimately in remote hiking spots.

Speaking of intimacy, he loves to cup your chin and pull you away from whatever your task is for a soft kiss, and then he goes back to his day afterwards. Does this multiple times a day, it still melts your heart.

He might be a little messy to live with but he makes up for it by doing things like grocery shopping, cleaning the cars, and other out-of-the-house chores.

He’s not clingy in the traditional sense, but he wants to be around you all the time. You both often end up sitting together silently doing your own thing, like together-alone-time.

Dates:

This man loves any kind of beverage, so be ready for coffee dates, bubble tea dates, bar dates. Give him a yummy drink and you his yummy s/o and he’s happy.

Maybe more active dates, like skateboarding or paddle boarding in the summer.

Gym dates.

As previously mentioned, bowling. Idk he strikes me shoot me as a very competitive person and so it’s the perfect activity for him.

He’s usually a pretty collected person, very in control of his actions and words.

I particularly think that any relationship with him will last if the person matches his personality, even though she is a famous foreign artist.

Sehun seems like the type who doesn't care about anything other than how people treat him. And that's really the only thing that matters.

Xiumin: He’d be confused, for definite. But realising what was next to him, he’d look at them with a smirk on his face, throwing it somewhere else before seeing if they’re in the mood.

Suho: He’d just turn around, bra in hand and look at them so confused. His eyes switching between the bra and them before shrugging it off and putting it in the wash basket for them.

Lay: He’d not even notice it for a long while, on his phone or watching the TV, being completely unphased. When he does notice it, he’d just laugh as he looks at them, relaxed without the bra and dismissing it completely.

Baekhyun: This could go one of two ways, either he gets the idea that they’re hinting at something. OR. He’d play with it, putting it on his head, then against his own chest to see if it’ll fit him.

Chen: Similar to Baekhyun, it could one of two ways. However, he’d be defintely the type to look at them with a serious bank face as he’s putting on their bra, and acting as though he’s pushing his “boobs” up.

Chanyeol: He’d be so giggly and entertained, looking slightly confused as he’d pick it up slowly, almost to inspect it then look at them, laughing more when they look at him with a blank face.

D.O: He’d just pick it up, smiling at them before walking off to put in the washing machine ready, coming back and not mentioning much of it, letting them giggle about the fact they threw their bra at him, smiling as he does find it a little entertaining.

Kai: He’d be entertained, but would also be responsible to put it on the wash basket for them, then asking why they threw it at him in the first place, interested in how they’d take it off without even removing their shirt first.

Sehun: He’d try and act cool about it, but he’d turn into a giggling mess, the strap hitting his arm would instantly make him turn to see it. This would entertain him for hours, just swinging their bra around until they tell him to put it in the wash.

Exo reaction - How they would kiss

A/n : I won’t write for Chen, as he is openly in a relationship and married, I don’t feel like this would be fair to his wife.

Xiumin -Gentle: he would start with light peppering kisses, the corners of his mouth tugging up when he hears your giggles. His kisses would slowly become longer and his hands would come up to cup your face as he pulls you into his chest to deepen the smooch.

Suho - Leader: Just like his role in Exo, I feel as though Suho would also happily lead in his relationships. He would always be the one to initiate the kiss by placing his hands on your hips to pull you in. He would slowly take your bottom lip between his and tease the entrance of your mouth with his tongue before the best make-out session you have ever experienced.

Lay - Cute: I feel like Lay’s kisses would be super adorable. He would snuggle into you whilst speckling cute kisses all over your face. His laugh would resonate through you, spreading happiness throughout your body. His kisses are light and soft and make you feel like you’re walking on clouds.

Baekhyun - Passionate: We all know Baekhyun is an adorable goof ball, but I feel like when it comes to kisses, he takes things very seriously. You would be cooking in the kitchen or putting away washing when he would come up behind you and spin you into a welcoming kiss. His kisses would be hungry and fast as his lifts you up to press you against the wall, tongues chasing each-other feverishly. You both know it won’t end with just kisses 😉.

Chanyeol - Desperate: I feel like Chanyeol would always kiss you like he missed you, even if you had been there the whole time. He’d cling on to you like he’s scared of loosing you as his tongue and body moulded into yours as though you were one. Everytime you break the kiss for air he would be begging you to kiss him again as the loneliness his lips would feel after you part would make him feel empty.

Kyungsoo - Soft: This mans lips…….THIS MANS LIPS! His kisses would feel like falling in bed after a long shift at work. You would melt into his mouth as his hand slowly strokes up and down your spine, making your whole body tingle. Your tongues would lazily caress each-other whilst your hands are doing the same thing. Emotions bubble over with each kiss as you know you could hold this man forever.

Kai - Safe: We all know Kai is a complete sweetheart. As a kisser I feel as though he would continue his kindness through. He’d hold you like you were made of glass, scared you would break. His kisses would be slow, he’d stop every few kisses to look you in the eyes, making sure you were still happy to continue. Each kiss spoke a thousand words, showing you the love he has for you. You were his and he was never going to let you go.

Sehun: Tease: Would it annoy you the way Sehun teases you…yes. Would it slightly turn you on…also yes. He would slowly wrap his arms around you closing the space between you. You would close your eyes and pucker up your lips for a kiss that would never come. When you have opened your eyes, you would see a smug grin plastered on Sehun’s face. As you turn on your heel to grumply walk off, a hand would wrap around your wrist pulling you into his chest. He wouldn’t waste anymore time capturing your lips in his as he hungrily makes up for teasing you so much.

Exo When Jealous

Junmyeon

He will be very mature about it. Junmyeon will asses the situation and think about what he will say to you before confronting you. He will listen to your side of the story and then decide how he will react from there. If he sees you with someone else and is REALLY jealous, he will not hesitate to confront you and figure out what's going on. Junmyeon is not the type to repress, so he will talk it out with you because he trusts and respects you.

Baekhyun

Uh oh, watch out! Baekhyun is a grudge holder. He is carefully watching you from across the room, taking in every detail. If he considers something to cross the line, he is by your side in an instant. He probably won't initially confront the person flirting with you. Instead he will put his arm around you hoping the other person gets the hint. Expect him to act like nothing is wrong in the moment. But, Baekhyun will probably bring it up months later during an argument.

Chanyeol

According to Chanyeol - he didn't see anything. He is always trying to maintain a laidback, cheerful demeanor, so he will act as though everything is ok. However, he is feeling threatened. If someone is flirting with you at a party, he will watch you out of the corner of his eye, but still joke around with his friends. If he ends up confronting the person flirting with you, he’ll try to make a joke to lighten the tension - even though his blood is boiling.

Kyungsoo

Poor Kyungsoo is doubting himself if he sees someone flirting with you. Immediately he thinks of all of his own shortcomings and wonders why you are with someone else and not beside him. He is non-confrontational and would try to pull you away with an excuse like “I need to tell you something” or “can you help me with something”. In most situations I don’t see him bringing it up again because he would have figured he was just overthinking things. However, if he does need to talk it out he would be very mature about it. First he would tell you how he feels and then listen to your side of the story.

Jongin

Angry # 1. Not at you - mostly at himself and the situation. He is quietly seething while watching you with someone else. Jongin is frustrated with himself for not standing up to the person who’s flirting with you because he’s non-confrontational. Also, he may want you to pick up that he uncomfortable and to tell the person who’s flirting with you to go away. He does repress his feelings so he’ll hold on to them and push them back into the deepest part of his mind. Next time someone flirts with you, that resentment will re-emerge on the surface - and there’s no telling what he may do.

Sehun

Angry #2. Sehun’s pride is hurt and he’s mad. If someone is flirting with you at an event or social gathering with people he knows, he will definitely be uncomfortable (maybe even a bit embarrassed). He will try to brush it off, but he has a limit. He will pull you away (not caring about the other person😅) and ask you what’s going on. He would be less mad at you and more mad about not maintaining a chill, laidback image. He trusts you, but alarms start sounding off in his head when he sees you with someone else.

Minseok

He would initially be very mature about it and respectfully confront the person flirting with you. But after... whew. Expect this moody man to give you the cold shoulder. He will be annoyed at the situation and need to to calm down and sort out his feelings before speaking with you. Throughout the night, when you try to speak with him expect one word answers like “yeah” and “mhm”. Or he’ll just ignore you entirely. Again, he tries to mature about it (because he definitely knows when he’s being dramatic) but will not be able to shake his bad mood.

Yixing

Yixing understands that you’re an attractive person and people are gonna flirt with you. He trusts you to make decisions for yourself and stand up for yourself. However, if you need him - he’s there in an instant. If he is jealous, he will talk to you about it, especially about the things which made him uncomfortable. He’ll work to come to a compromise with you, because he understands that this will happen.

Jongdae

He is another to talk it through. Jongdae has similar thoughts to Yixing. You’re an adult who can make their own decisions and he trusts you enough to stay faithful to him. People flirt with him too, and he will want you to have faith in him. But, since he is so trusting, if something were to happen which was over the line, he will never forget it. In fact, it may end the relationship. It will take something drastic to get to that point though. He’s not usually jealous - but he is prone to cutting people off entirely if they cross him (so don’t 😩).

a/n: I know most people are here for the svt posts but it’s been a while since I have done an exo one. I literally just pre-ordered D.O.’s albums; I am already delusional as is without getting new do kyungsoo content :’)

Anyway, bc of having lived in a studio apartment complex, I well aware that nothing breaks or makes living in student housing more than roommates. CURSE YOU BONGO DUDE I AM STILL NOT OVER YOU WAKING ME UP AT MIDNIGHT WITH YOUR LACK OF RHYTHM.

Xiumin/Minseok: 7/10

✾ He would nag the entire time that the house is not clean enough and that you left your shit lying around. Whoever said that student housing tends to be messy has not met Xiumin.

✾ He has been cleaning ever since he moved in and will not stop until he has moved out. Xiumin will scold you when you try to help him out as you are ‘not cleaning right’, whatever that means. Fortunately, that means he will rarely ask you to help him with the chores so you still get to enjoy a clean house without having to put the effort in.

✾ Honestly, his healthy lifestyle choices kind of motivate you to do better. He will definitely take you with him to the gym when you let it drop that you might be interested in getting in shape. Free gym coach, basically.

✾ He organizes roommate days weekly where the two of you spend planned time together because he believes that roommates should become/be friends.

Suho/Junmyeon: 9/10

✾ He will adopt you as one of his children. The moment you step foot in your shared housing, he has accepted that he has yet another child to take care of and no, you can’t convince him otherwise.

✾ He takes care of you and makes you feel right at home; he is the definition of the mom friend. Are you having trouble making new friends? He will introduce you to his. Have you been too busy studying and forgotten to eat? He will drop by the grocery store.

✾ The only downside to roommate Suho is that he can be overbearing and slightly judgy. You will hear “I am not mad, just disappointed” a lot when you, for instance, decide to go to out with your friends during finals. Apparently, that is irresponsible.

✾ Did you really move out of your parent’s home, or did you just replace your parents with Suho?

Baekhyun: -10000/10

✾ He drives you absolutely insane and makes you regret moving in with him. Nobody is safe from his teasing and antics and you are stuck with it until the lease is up.

✾ He convinces you to divide the chores through games that he somehow always ends up winning. He has not done any chores since he moved in and he somehow keeps convincing you that this is the fairest way to determine who has to do the dishes.

✾ Boundaries, what boundaries? Locked doors will not keep him out. He will definitely throw himself on your bed telling you all about the drama of people you do not know when you are trying to study for an important test in the quiet solitude of your room. If you’re home, he will not leave you alone.

✾ Always spontaneously invites people over and forgets to text you about it. At this point, all his friends have seen you in your comfy but definitely not fashionable clothes.

Chen/Jongdae: -1000000000000/10

✾ He. Is. So. Loud.

✾ The walls are way too thin to live with him. You can always hear him before you even see him. The type to wake you up in the middle of the night or early in the morning because he has no awareness of how loud he truly is.

✾ It wouldn’t even be such a problem, but bro never shuts up either. If he is not talking, he is constantly singing or humming. Chen truly doesn't have an off button.

✾ Add to the loudness problem that Chen is a morning person. He is so chirpy in the morning, singing a song on top of his lungs whilst he eats his breakfast. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he is the type to try and have full on conversations with you minutes after you’ve woken up, getting offended when your replies are curt.

✾ You had to ban game nights because he gets too competitive, whining so incredibly loudly every time he loses. One time the neighbours filed a noise complaint and he still maintains he wasn’t that loud.

Chanyeol: 8/10

✾ A really fun person to live with if you like a very present roommate. He will constantly ask you to hang out and play games or watch movies because he can’t be alone for five minutes. However, compared to Baekyhun, his energy is a lot more chill.

✾ He will spend a lot of money on random geeky stuff, filling up the entire shared apartment with figurines, posters and that one Halloween costume that definitely was way too expensive. I can see him being the type to have a hallway full of boxes of stuff he ordered online. He has no idea of what actually is in them because he ordered it impulsively so long ago.

✾ Despite you living in student housing, he will make sure the interior looks stunning. He cares way too much about everything matching and will not allow you to place anything in the house without discussing it with him first. You can’t really be mad at it because your place looks like an Ikea showroom.

✾ Docking points because he will be either playing music or games at night. Trust me, nothing is worse than having someone practice their instrument when you are trying to sleep (Curse you bongo dude). All you can hear is him practising the same guitar riffs over and over again.

D.O./Kyungsoo: 6.5/10

✾ Listen, his cooking is amazing, it would make being his roommate worthwhile. He will always make enough food for the both of you, and if you do not dine together, he will leave his leftovers for you in the fridge to try. He genuinely enjoys cooking for others and is happy to try out new recipes on you.

✾ That being said, living with him is more like calmly co-existing in the same space. He will only talk to you when absolutely necessary and it takes him a long while to really open up to you (if he does at all).

✾ He respects your personal space and wants you to respect his, meaning he won’t go out of his way to spend time together. Being roommates does not automatically mean that you have to be/are friends in his book. If you click, that’s neat, but don’t expect him to invite you over for game nights for the first few months.

✾ He is definitely the passive-aggressive roommate that sends you a text over the smallest of things. Why confront you face-to-face when can send you a 2 AM text telling you to pick up that one sock that fell out of your laundry basket?

Kai/Jongin: 6/10

✾ He is an absolute sweetie, do not get me wrong. With his friendly and bubbly personality, he will try his hardest to become friends with his roommates. He will take every initiative to organize roommate events such as game nights, clubbing, etc.

✾ That being said, do not leave him alone in the kitchen, he will definitely accidentally set it on fire and you will be the one that has to clean up because do we really trust him after that? We have all seen his attempts at cooking, it never fails to be a disaster, so guess who is in charge of cooking from then on.

✾ Who needs matching cups and plates? Not you because he has shattered at least one of each set. Do not get too attached to your worldly possessions because Kai will knock them over or drop them on accident.

✾ He genuinely wants to help out with chores but he is so clumsy you still end up doing most of them. You can’t even be mad at him because, well, it is Kai.

Sehun: 2/10

✾ Is he even your roommate? You have no idea, he rarely helps out with anything. He has been so spoiled that he refuses to lift a finger and at this point, you feel brainwashed because he is getting away with it.

✾ If you are younger than him, he will be paying for everything you guys need, so that is a win. If not, be prepared for your bank account to take a massive hit because “the oldest should pay.”

✾ You guys get a lot of free stuff as Sehun knows to subtly let it drop to his friends, mostly Suho, that you guys direly need something. All of his friends basically function as sugar daddies, and neither of you is complaining about the free toilet paper.

✾ The type of roommate that judges your outfits and comments “Are you really going to wear that?” and leaves you on read when you text him about rent. He can be nice but tends to choose violence every time he wakes up. I hope that you’ve got thick skin.

✾ Despite his snarky comments, you know that he genuinely appreciates and cares for you based on how clingy he is. Good luck going clubbing without him. Your phone will keep buzzing with texts asking you when you will be home because he is too scared to sleep without another person present in the house.

The first snow of December fell past your windows as the world around you froze while your eyes stared at the positive pregnancy test in your hands. What you have been praying wasn't true was unfolding right before your eyes. There couldn't have a worser time for this to happen to you.

A couple weeks before, you had begun feeling a bit unwell. Starting with a couple of headaches and fatigue. This of course progressed to feelings of nausea. With the winter coming, you passed this off as the flu. That was until you had missed your cycle. Well it just so happened that after putting off the test for weeks, you finally decided to take it the day Sehun found it appropriate to announce his enlistment. You felt the anxiety rush through your body as you stared at the two bright red lines. The silence engulfed you as your hands began to shake with fear. Doubt immediately started to take over your mind as the thought that Sehun would be upset and not present for the child came over you. After what felt like an eternity, you were finally able to snap out of your trance and decided to hide the test in the back of the medicine cabinet. Allowing one big event at a time.

A couple days go by and Sehun becomes increasingly concerned with your behavior. The constant stress whenever he starts a sentence with "Babe, Can I ask you a question?" showing through your demeanor. The constant pressure of having to mask your symptoms just to ease the burden of his enlistment. In truth, you were not only scared of this situation interrupting Sehun's wish for an easy dismissal but how this would impact the child. You wanted to tell him the news but no moment felt right. You constantly felt like a burden to his plan.

You managed to keep this secret for 3 days before Sehun came to confront you about this new behavior.

"Hey, is everything alright? You just seem very antsy recently.. Is it about the whole military thing?" He asked as he sat next to you on the sofa, genuine sincerity veiling his face.

"Oh yeah, it's just a big change from what I am used to." you spat out to quickly change topic.

"You know, I'm not going to be gone that long, my position is special. The whole social service thing is different." He responds before placing a soft hand on your back. This action causing for a strong emotion to arise.

"Im sorry.." you mumbled looking down in your lap, tears beginning to swell in your eyes. This left Sehun staring at you with a tilted head.

"For what? Already missing this handsome face? That's a given.." He rolls his eyes as a playful smile appears on his face.

"No.. keeping this secret from you." You mutter while wiping the tears from your eyes and chuckling softly at his joke. He watched as you stood up and headed to the bathroom to get the test. When you returned, you slowly placed the positive test in his hand and sat back anxiously and studied his face.

"Oh my god.." He mumbled as he stared at the test, causing for you to feel sick to your stomach in fear. You quickly jumped to explain yourself.

"Im sorry for keeping this from you. I know its a terrible time to bring this up and I know it ruins the whole enlistment process but I hope you aren't mad about this.. I wanted to tell you but there was no right time for this. I just couldn't bring myself to-" You rambled until you heard Sehun's voice interrupt you.

"Oh my god!" His eyes jolted to meet with your own. "I'm going to be a father!" His eyes jumped between yours and your stomach as his excitement rushed out.

"So you aren't mad about the timing...?" You muttered, taking time to adapt to his reaction.

"Mad? This is the best timing possible! I'm on the base for like a week then home for 2 years with no active promotions. I'm free to bother you and the baby every day!" He says, grabbing your wrists and shaking them with utter joy. "Like I don't think you understand... I'm going to be a father!" He shouts before flashing you a bright smile. You chuckle in response as you watch him express every ounce of joy in his body.

"Oh my god... I have to call and tell Jongdae that i'm a better father than him!" He yells before placing a lot of wet kisses on your face, making sure to place some on your stomach as well.

He jumps up and skips to the bedroom just to share his announcement as a way to prove his greatness. You felt like 20 lbs had been lifted off of your chest as his reaction proved to be the opposite of what you expected. This time as you sat with the pregnancy test, you were filled with delight instead of pure frustration and panic. These next two years were going to be filled with bliss as long as Sehun was by your side.

From the sofa you heard the sounds of Sehun boasting about his fathering excellence, which only made you so much more confident and excited for the future of this small family.

synopsis: reader meets chanyeols friends and family, and an unexpected guest changes the course of the night.

warnings: heavy angst. reader and chanyeol have a fight. lots of crying and mixed emotions

a/n: about 2 more chapters before i call this series good. sorry for the ending it’s kinda trash but i wanted to hurry and post thissss. thx for sticking with me 💕

giggling, you push chanyeols hand away from the band of your underwear and turn your body away from him. “yeolie, stop, we’re gonna be late,” you say, but it falls on deaf ears. he reaches for you again, snaking an arm around your waist and pressing your half naked body against his.

“so what?” he mutters, bending down to kiss your neck. you don’t let yourself fall for his touch, and instead pull away from him again. “baby!” he whines, drawing you back into his embrace. you let out a breath and decide to indulge in his clingy behavior, because let’s be real: you love it. you like him all over you and when he can’t stand to be anywhere else but up under you, his hands always touching you.

“i dont want to be late,” you say as he pushes you against the bathroom counter. you let him lift you up and wedge himself between you legs, his teeth gently biting your skin. “and you are not going to give me a big ass hickey before i meet your brother and friends!” you pinch his side and he pulls back with a groan, frowning at you. showing up to meet his friends and family with a giant bruise on your neck was a sure way to leave a lasting impression that you weren’t ready for.

he pouts at you and you can’t help but smile. “don’t mock me,” chanyeol says, resting his large hands on your thighs. you quickly intertwine his fingers with yours so he doesn’t get any ideas and try to delay your leaving. “i’ll be quick.” he tries to reason, and you just raise your eyebrows.

“sure you will,” you roll your eyes and he shakes your intertwined hands.

“just the tip, then,” chanyeol says and you can’t help it when you burst out laughing.

“oh my god! how old are you?” now chanyeol rolls his eyes, though it was a childish suggestion that he’s too grown for. “you’re so horny today.” you tease and he sighs loudly, making you smile.

“you’re mine later,” chanyeol states, big doe eyes looking down at you. you kiss the back of his hand and nod.

“always,” you say and his eyes soften as he practically melts in your grasp. chanyeols cheeks flush pink and you hold back the teasing you want to dish out for the sake of the moment. the words sit on the tip of your tongue, itching to be spoken into existence. but, of course, you hold back, your pride getting in the way. you just can’t handle the thought of him not reciprocating your feelings and not saying it back. if only you knew, though, that he definitely would say it back, would probably scream it and then put it in writing, would maybe, probably, write a song about it to really prove it to you. if only you knew, though.

a nervous smile is plastered on your face as you shake hands with his brother and cousin, sehun and jongin—who told you to call him ‘kai’—respectively. chanyeol is much different than these two, much more relaxed and not as rambunctious as them though there’s only a three year age gap between him and them. you want to joke about it, maybe call him old, but your nerves are in the way and won’t let you get comfortable.

“oh! theres kyungsoo!” sehun says, standing up and waving his arms over to chanyeols college roommate. you take a sip of your water and stand up to shake his head when he gets over to the table.

you introduce yourself to his friend and he gives you a kind smile. you learn quickly that he’s on the quieter side, but sehun gets him talking just as fast. the three of you get lost in a conversation, but you don’t miss when jongin leans behind you to whisper something to chanyeol, and you definitely don’t miss chanyeols reaction: furrowed eyebrows and wide eyes that dart to you momentarily before darting back to his cousin. the two of them excuse themselves from the table for a couple of minutes, and you almost ask him what’s going on but you don’t get the chance.

“i’m sorry, what?” you say, blinking yourself back into the moment when your name is called.

“no worries, i just asked where you went to school,” kyungsoo says with a small smile.

“oh, im still in school in the city—i graduate in the fall,” you say and you see the realization come across his face. his eyes go wide and his mouth forms a small ‘o’. kyungsoo doesn’t say anything, just glances at sehun before changing the subject.

and there goes that feeling again, the one you get where chanyeol introduces you to a new part of his world, the one you get when he calls you childish when you argue, the one that reminds you that you’re still young, not even 22 yet but are involved with a man nearly 11 years older than you. that him and his friends have fully experienced what you’ve just began to understand. that there is still a part of him that you haven’t had a full deep dive into, that you have yet to fully crack him open though you show him every piece of you.

you’re barely listening to what sehun and kyungsoo are saying, your brain elsewhere. you want chanyeol back, for him to look over at you and be able to read you from top to bottom, to see that no, you’re not enjoying yourself, not without him next to you.

sehun starts laughing next to you, and you glance over at him. he’s looking behind your head so you turn to see chanyeol, kai, and two women following them. chanyeol looks stressed out and he keeps wiping around his mouth. you don’t know what to think, until sehun says, “this should be interesting.”

your stomach drops as chanyeol only gets closer, his avoidant gaze finally falling on you and guilt overtaking his features. you manage to control your face and stand up to greet the two women. “y/n, uh, this is minji and… yunhee,” at her name your out stretched hand falters and you feel like a ridiculous prank has been pulled on you. he invited his ex wife?

somehow, you manage to choke out a curt “hello” before sitting back down. you find it hard to look away from yunhee; for starters, she’s beautiful. she has short, dark hair and eyes like chanyeol. her face is mature and slim where you still have that youthful look. she wears a wristwatch, like an adult; you wear bracelets, your left wrist void of a watch. she has a large designer purse; you left yours at home. she looks like she works a real job, at an office, and calls all the shots; you’re still trying to make it through undergrad. you can see exactly where her and chanyeol make more sense. optically, they’re perfect on paper. you and chanyeol just look ridiculous.

you’re not going to sulk in front of the entire table, so you force yourself to start asking everybody questions. minji and chanyeol know each other from undergrad because they were in the same music class. minji and yunhee are sisters. yunhee works in advertisement. you mentally take all of it down. you even see minji and kai giving each other looks that you feel like means something. but above all, you pay attention to how yunhee and chanyeol interact, and when. she’ll tell a joke, and you catch her eyes sliding over to him to see if he’s laughing. you catch her staring at him long after he’s finished talking. you even catch her glance at his left hand—ring finger empty—and your stomach roils when you look at her own left hand and see that her ring finger definitely has a band around it.

you excuse yourself abruptly, knocking into chanyeol as you get up. he looks up at you with concern, as you’ve barely said anything to him since he sat down, and didn’t grab his hand when he put it on your leg. “just going to the bathroom,” you say to him, quickly beelining to the restrooms.

once you get inside, you immediately pull your phone from your pocket and dial seulgi. you have no idea if she’s busy or not, but you’re praying for the latter as the phone rings. you can’t sit at that table for another minute. you’re uncomfortable and feel blindsided, like everybody knew she was going to be there except you.

“hello?” you sigh a breath of relief at your friends voice.

“oh my god, seulgi. are you busy?” you ask, leaning against the counter.

“no, whats up? how is the dinner going?” she asks. you don’t hold back, the words tumbling out of you quicker than you can keep track of. she listens, gasping when you tell her how his ex showed up how you feel like it was a set up. if only it were, so you could proudly go off on everybody sitting outside. “holy shit!”

“so can you please come get me? like, i’m literally about to crawl out of the bathroom window to get out of here,” you say. seulgi scoffs out a laugh and says ‘of course’, and that she’ll be there as soon as possible, before the two of you hang up.

letting out a breath, you slip your phone back into your pocket and start washing your hands though you didn’t use the restroom. the door to the restroom opens and you glance over, you spine going rigid when yunhee steps through. she looks at you through the mirror and you downcast your eyes to your hands, quickly rinsing them off and snatching paper towels out of the dispenser. “hey…” she says awkwardly, folding her hands in front of herself.

you only look at her through the mirror, stone faced. “look, i didn’t know you were going to be here either, if i’m being honest,” she says with a sigh, dropping her hands against her legs. you furrow your eyebrows, not truly grasping the weight of what she’s saying. “minji… she just said chanyeol was throwing a dinner. she begged me to go, so i did. i didn’t know you were going to be here until we got here and i saw him outside with his cousin.” yunhee admits, and you feel like throwing up. minji wanted something to happen between you and yunhee, between you and chanyeol, because there was no reason for her to lie to her own sister about her ex husbands whereabouts. she doesn’t think your relationship with chanyeol is legit—hell, none of them probably think it’s going to last. you’re just a stop along the way for him, until he goes back to her.

you swallow the lump in your throat and nod, tossing the soiled paper towels in the trash. “i can leave, if you want. i’m not the kind of person who would just… show up like that. i’m not going to lie and say i still love him, because i do, but i’m not in love with him. he’s a really good guy—he didn’t know i was coming either,” you wish she would just stop talking, but she keeps going on like it’s word vomit. you tune her out after hearing that she still loves him, your vision blurring for a second before you blink back tears.

“please, just stop,” you say, framing your face with your hands and pushing your hair back tightly enough for it to pull your skin back. you let go and let your hands fall, feeling tired and over the night. “you can stay because i’m leaving, i really don’t care what the rest of you all do tonight.” yunhee presses her lips together and you take one last look at yourself in the mirror before leaving her alone in the bathroom.

to you misfortune, you have to pass by your table in order to get out of the restaurant. there’s no way for you to sneak out without being noticed, so you pick up your last shred of dignity and march over to the table. you place a hand on chanyeols shoulder, startling him with a flinch of his shoulders. he relaxes once he sees it’s you though it doesn’t last long when he sees the look on your face. “can i talk to you real quick?” you ask quietly. he nods and stands up, grabbing your hand and letting you lead him out of the restaurant. “i’m gonna head home.” you say honestly.

chanyeols face falls. “why? what’s going on?” he asks, grabbing your other hand and tugging you close to him. you let out a breath and avoid his eyes because you feel like crying and know that you probably will if you look at him for a second too long.

“i’m just… this is not what i was expecting and it’ll just be better for me to go home,” you say, trying to pull your hands out of his grasp but chanyeol only tugs you back towards him, determined to get you to stay and work it out.

“y/n, ple- no, i’m going home,” you say sternly, cutting him off mid sentence. he sets his jaw and lets your hands fall, folding his arms across his chest.

“fine. but we’re gonna talk about this later,” he doesn’t give you much room to disagree, and you just nod. he stares down at you, trying to figure you out. “how are you getting home?” he asks.

“seulgi,” you answer. he nods and runs a hand through his hair.

“i’ll wait with you,” he says. you don’t try to argue with him and tell him that you’re fine and can stand out here alone, that you’re a grown woman. instead, you wrap your arms around your midsection to keep warm, your sweater not doing much to keep you warm.

wordlessly, chanyeol slips his jacket off and drapes it over your shoulders. you slip your arms in and revel at its warmth, mumbling a ‘thank you’ to your boyfriend.

a handful of silent minutes later, seulgis car pulls up to the curb. you unzip chanyeols jacket and hand it back to him before turning on the balls of your feet. “hey,” he says softly, reaching for your forearm. you look at him over your shoulder and let yourself be pulled when he tugs you towards him. chanyeol places a soft kiss against your lips as if to remind you that he’s not nearly as mad as you probably think he is. “i’ll see you later.” he says after he pulls away. you nod and quickly get into seulgis car, not looking back at him as she peels out of the parking lot.

you’re in your pajamas when chanyeol comes over less than an hour later. you let him in and soundlessly make your way into your bedroom, sitting on your bed while he takes your desk chair. “what happened?” chanyeol asks, getting right to the point.

“why didn’t you tell me she was coming?” you counter. he frowns at you and lightly shakes her head.

“i didnt know she was coming. by that time, it was too late.”

now it’s your turn to frown at him. “you could have told her to leave.”

“minji is her sister, and also my friend. i wasn’t going to tell her to leave when she’d already shown up. i’m sorry that she shows up unannounced, but we’re in the same boat,” you stare at him, not even what to think of what he’s saying. “what? you don’t believe me?”

“i dont know know! she told me she still loves you, so i don’t even know what to think right now,” you huff, trying to keep your voice lower so you don’t disturb seulgi.

chanyeols frown deepens. “when did she say that?”

“does it even matter?” you ask. he opens his mouth and closes it, looking down at the floor. “what, do you still love her?” it’s a stupid question with an answer you’re not sure you actually to hear, no matter what it is. you don’t know if you’re ready for it.

“y/n,” he says it like a warning, but his eyes give him away. you feel gutted, like somebody ripped out your insides and stopped all over them. tears spring to your eyes and you press the back of your hands into them to keep the tears from falling. “y/n.” he says again.

“it’s fine, chanyeol,” you sniff, pulling your hands away when you feel you’ve got your emotions under control. “it’s fine. you both feel the same, it’s whatever.” you sniff again and curse when your eyes well up for the third time tonight.

“what are you saying, y/n?” you stare at a random spot on your floor while his eyes bore holes into you. you dont like where this conversation is going, and you’ve said too much to take back.

poking the inside of your cheek with your tongue, you wipe at a stray tear that falls. “everybody thinks i’m just a stop along the way before you go back to her,” your voice cracks and opens up a dam of tears that blur your vision. “we don’t make sense compared to you and her. i’m not somebody you marry. i’m still in school, trying to figure out my life, and you already know what the world has to offer. we don’t make sense.” you’re full on crying now, folding yourself over and burying your face in your hands.

chanyeol just stares at you, heavily confused at where this is all coming from. you’ve never expressed anything like this, but if he finds out that you’ve been holding this back for months, he’s going to be pissed. “y/n, stop. why are you saying all of this?”

“because! i’m too young for you! you deserve somebody your own age—everybody thinks that!”

“i think i’ll be the judge of my own life, but alright,” he scoffs, shaking his head. chanyeol hates to see you cry, but he thinks you’re being overlydramatic. “and i don’t care what they think.” he adds.

“you fucking should, because they’re the people closest to you. and i don’t know if i can put up with being the youngest in the room every time i’m with your friends. i can literally feel the years between us.” you roughly wipe at your eyes finally look up at him. his expression is hard, one you’ve only seen a few times. you’ve finally pissed him off.

this is it, you think. this is the part where he sees where he should’ve kept you at a distance. where he sees how juvenile you really are, and where there’s truth in your words.

chanyeol digs the heels of his palms into his eyes frustratedly and drags his hands over his face. “so what do you really want, y/n? what do you want from me?” your heart rate speeds up at his tone of voice. what you really want is to restart this entire night, and for him to call you ‘baby’, or anything other than your first name.

“i dont know,” you whisper pitifully. an oh my god emits from his lips and he shakes his head. chanyeol runs his hands through his hair and tugs at the roots.

“i cant fix anything if you don’t tell me what you want,” he says, looking at your pointedly. “if all you want is for us to be closer in age, then you’re really out of luck.” you’re silent, because now that you’ve said your piece, all you’ve discovered is that you truly just needed to vent to somebody other than seulgi. and maybe doing that to your boyfriend on a particularly tense night wasn’t the smartest idea.

“i dont know,” you say again, more tears coming to your eyes and streaming down your cheeks. the room is quiet except for your sniffling and quiet whimpers. you just want him to hold you, but you’re not going to ask for that, not when you’re the cause of your own misery.

“i think… i think we should take a break, y/n. just for a little while,” all the air is sucked out of your lungs and you nearly choke at his words. between the two of you, you didn’t expect him to be the one to say that he wants to break up. “i don’t know what’s been going on, but i just want us to get back to where we were. i dont know how to help you, but maybe some time apart will be good for us.”

you feel your insides melting and your world being flipped upside down. you could be set on fire right now, and nothing would hurt you the way his words are. there’s a knife in your stomach that keeps getting twisted the more he talks, and yours mere moments away from screaming at him to stop.

you barely register him stand up and coming over to you until you’re pushing him away from you with too much force. it doesn’t do much to him, but he does feel his heart crack in half, and then into fourths and so on. he winces when you tell him to get out, but he obliges and leaves quietly.

the worst of it all was that you didn’t even get the chance to tell him how you really feel; that you love him more than you thought a human was truly capable. that he’s probably the only person you’ve ever felt this way about, and that you knew it was real when he was the first person you thought of in the morning and the last person you thought of before you went to bed. because now he’s gone, all because of you, and you’re not sure you’ll ever get the chance to tell him the truth.
