thankful that street urchin is a whole butch because too many people were prepared to 'simp for the hot biker guy' and then got upset that shes not their next hot fictional cis boyfriend
Tumblr media
but it's still honestly upsetting that people drop their hype for street urchin the moment that they learn about her pronouns

There’s an ethical question in Star Trek I’ve seen several people here talk about that I’ve thought about a lot. Basically, what are the ethics of having a romantic or sexual relationship with a non-sentient holographic version of a real person? This issue is brought up several times in canon, but never dealt with well, in my opinion. The main canon discussions of this topic that I remember (and it’s possible I forgot something) are in Booby Trap (TNG) where Geordi has a very brief romantic relationship with a holographic version of a real woman he’s never met, in Hollow Pursuits (TNG) where Barclay presumably has romantic/sexual relationships with extremely out of character holographic versions of Deanna and Beverly, in Meridian (DS9) where a guy wants Quark to sell him a holographic version of Kira to have sex with, and in Human Error (VOY) where Seven has a semi-long-term romantic and sexual relationship with a holographic version of Chakotay.
So, first of all, I don’t think that any of those instances mentioned are morally okay. Booby Trap is the most complicated case morally speaking since, to my memory, Geordi didn’t intentionally initiate anything romantic, though he didn’t stop it once it started either. I don’t want to imply that what Geordi did is morally as bad as the other examples I’m discussing, especially since Geordi is the only character of color being discussed here and his actions are not really equivalent in intention or impact to the other characters’. As an episode, Booby Trap doesn’t seem to have a clear idea of whether or not what Geordi is doing is unethical. In fact, it felt to me as if that question wasn’t something that occurred to the writers at all (until Galaxy’s Child, but that’s a whole other thing and the hologram portion of it is arguably the least messed up thing there, so I’m ignoring it in relation to this topic). Hollow Pursuits does portray what Barclay does negatively, but I feel like the episode is much more concerned with the negative emotional effects this has for Barclay rather than for Deanna and Beverly. Meridian, from what I remember, is the only episode to portray this situation as definitively bad, and Kira is portrayed as justified in being angry. However, the episode is a mess in other ways and does not explore the topic with nuance, making light of it with humor when I think it needed to be taken more seriously. Human Error is in some ways the most baffling case here because what Seven does is portrayed almost positively, as something that is a potentially good step in Seven’s “social development”. Apparently, there is no thought given to what Chakotay would think of the situation. I’ve seen people suggest that the narrative and fandom treatment of Seven versus the other characters is a gendered double standard, which I do think makes sense.
But the problem here isn’t having a sexual/romantic relationship with a hologram, the problem is that the person didn’t consent to having their holographic image used this way. There’s obviously nothing wrong with having sex or a relationship with a hologram not based on anyone’s image, or based on the image of someone who gave clear consent to have their image used in that way. But using someone’s image this way without their consent is pretty obviously analogous to making nonconsensual porn of someone. Do the ethics of this situation change if the hologram is of a historical figure? What about a famous person who is still alive? I don’t necessarily have answers here, but I do think the situation can become more complicated.
And then there’s another factor to consider – is the sexual/romantic relationship the biggest issue here? In the cases of Hollow Pursuits and Human Error, Barclay and Seven’s simulations of the crew are much more extensive than just the romantic/sexual portions. Would it have been all right for Barclay to create potentially offensive and demeaning holographic versions of his crewmates if there was no romantic/sexual component? Would it be okay for Seven to recreate a version of every Voyager crew member and live out an intricate alternate life with them without any of their consent if she never had romantic/sexual relationships with any of them? Is it any less a violation of someone’s rights to use their image without consent for, say, a propaganda campaign for an issue they disagree with, or a story that portrays their holographic version as a horrible person? That second scenario is the plot of the Voyager episode Author Author. This episode seems to take the moral stance that it’s bad for the Doctor to use the images of his fellow Voyager crew members to portray horrible characters, but there are other questions it doesn’t raise. Would it have been okay for the Doctor to use their images without consent if he had portrayed their holographic versions positively? What is the line between an acceptable and unacceptable usage of another person’s image without their consent? Is it ever okay to use a person’s holographic image without their consent? Is such consent implied when a person agrees to holographic scans of their body? What exactly is one consenting to when they consent to have a holographic version of themself created? I don’t necessarily have answers to these questions, I just wish any of these episodes had explored these issues with more nuance. And I do think that it’s important to consider extending the question of consent here beyond sex and romance.

What your favourite Clone Legion says about you!
A few common tropes that I’ve noticed in people, depending on which squad they love the most. Let me know if they’re accurate!
501st - An OG bitch. You're both thirsty, and hydrated. You probably have some form of trauma, and you cope using humour, not that that's a bad thing. The life of the party. Star Wars is probably in your top 10 interests of all time. You're not afraid to speak the truth, but you know when to hold your tongue. A good egg.
212th - Either you ship Codywan, or you're in love with either Waxer or Boil. You're a little bit old school, play by the book, but know when/where to have a laugh. Loved by many. Approachable. Laid back and easy to talk to. Your style is fun, bright, and sometimes excentric. Overall, a pleasant being.
104th - Daddy issues. Or issues of some kind. You need a hug, but only on your own terms. A big fan of the found family trope. Probably introverted, but you have a good sense of humour, and you're approachable. Funny, sarcastic, but also loving, kind, and loyal without a fault.
327th - On the sidelines. Do people seem to forget about you? That's okay. You have a small circle, a best friend or two, and you prefer that over a large crowd. It takes a while for your true colours to come out, but when they do, they shine like no other. Very hospitable. A hidden gem.
Coruscant Guards - Tired. Seriously, quit chugging coffee, and go and have a nap! You probably own a dog, or ten. You refuse to fit into social standards, and you're weird in some way. Coloured hair, perhaps? Always approachable, friendly, down to earth, but if anyone pushes your buttons, then they better run. Fast.
The Bad Batch - Horny. Tired. Deprived. You cling onto nostalgia. Hyperfixations are your main source of joy. You're loyal, like really fucking loyal, and stubborn at times. Nobody is changing your mind, not without solid reason. Found family enthusiast, but let's not make it cheesy. Could do with a nap.
Delta Squad - Fandom old™, but still keeping it real. The true OG. When you commit to something, you stick to it, even if it takes you years to complete due to procrastination. Down to earth. Fun and friendly, but not in a cheesy/faux way. A small and close-knit social circle. You know your shit, and you're proud to flex it.

will delete later but imma gonna rant bc i can and yall be sending me these things knowing im gonna snap but HEY i guess ill take over hate.💀
you know, when we said that cassian was abusive in acosf, and that his behavior was not only unromantic, but very much parallel to the way tamlin treated feyre in maf -- we were met with contention. it was ‘cassian is the best bat boy!” “how can you hate cassian” and “you guys always find problems”
but if when the conversation becomes something like nessian >>> feysand or cassian >>> rhysand then suddenly all of the red flags that cassian showed in sf and even in acowar become apparent. then you guys can point out the problems in the hike, how cassian treated nesta horribly, wasn’t attentive. how cassian sexualized her body, and used her body, how he wouldn’t even give nesta sugar even though she was literally suffering through something adjacent to an eating disorder, where she wasn’t eating or practicing self-hygiene. now you see how he doesn’t tell nesta that she is loved, how he calls her out of her name, how he repeatedly disrespects her boundaries.
it is abuse. say it with me: a b u s e.
it was easy for y’all to blame the 25 y/o and not the 530+ y/o who personally saw himself in charge of her mental health journey, against her wishes, locked in her in the house with him, and then made sexual comments about her while continually isolating every part of her life, and having her do things on behalf of the court and the library with no money.
and then y’all argued that more responsibility should be placed on nesta and not the immortal man who literally put himself in charge of every aspect of her life. that nesta somehow deserved that bc she was difficult. that argument is deranged. i don’t give a shit how ‘difficult’ nesta was,’ she is still the victim. that you guys believe other wise belies a fundamental understanding of abuse and domestic violence
and it wasn’t like writing a 2000+ words of textual evidence, scene by scene parallels was enough -- nah. all we have to do is realign the conversation a character v. character debate and suddenly it becomes very clear.
and as i said, i always fucking knew y’all saw the problems, even when y’all called them ridiculous. but if the conversation was removed of y’all hate for nesta and recontextualized as a feysand v. nessian argument all of a sudden you guys can see the abuse. its absolutely disgusting.
and even then, the acknowledgement of these issues is only because you want to laugh at nesta for being in that abusive predicament. because of course these issues only matters when your trying to prove a tit-for-tat point about what batboy is better. cassian was abusive. the hike was one of the most disgusting act of abuse in that book.
and this matters bc literally we watched a man -- a famous actor -- sue the woman who he abused, and then have the whole world argue that she deserved the abuse because she was a difficult woman. we saw her sa be mocked, her trauma dubbed ‘not realistic enough bc thats not how real victims act, we saw people fandomize a grown real life man (a HASBEEN) and it has now set a trend where abusers are suing their victims arguing the SAME argument, it matters. we watched as  RAPE threats were suddenly ‘okay’ bc the victim was ‘difficult’ that the 20 something y/o somehow how more power and money than the the man twice her age, with triple the funds.
y’all are absolutely disgusting and i will NEVER take any of u anti nesta people seriously like y’all are nasty people.
y’all tried.

this isn’t to dig on ur anti zutara post but rather start a discussion.
in my experience, the reason we zutarians don’t like zukka is because of the animosity we get from the fandom. we analyze the subtle details we are given because practically every zuko and Katara interaction in the show is because all of them save the first have some degree of zutara in it. their chemistry- be it platonic or romantic- is undeniable.
and yet, we are told by zukkas and kataangers that we are wrong for shipping the ship. a lot of zukkas sideline the women in atla- sokka is given a lot of Katara’s qualities that are stated in the show (ie: people claiming that sokka is the team dad when he literally confessed that he saw Katara more as his mother than his actual mother), mailee is just there (majority of the mailee fics on ao3 are just them being a side couple in zukka fics), and not to mention comradekatara’s posts from back when they were lesbians4sokka about Katara being homophobic. even if it was a joke, it was something that people took seriously. a lot of the same zukkas are the ones making fun of katara for talking about her mother’s death when that literally happened three times outside of the southern raiders episode.
dont get me wrong, I know that the zutara fandom was absolutely rabid in the early 2000s and that’s where we get our bad reputation, but the only time that we’ve had issues with other people in the atla fandom was when they interacted with our content and it blew up.
Honestly you make some points I agree and disagree with so I'll go one paragraph at a time
1.
I do agree that some zutirans get hate that isn't deserved. I definitely think that a lot of the fandom doesn't like zutartians, I'm part of that group as well (for the most part). I also do think they have chemistry, but more in a way that's more like family rather than lovers.
I think the over-analyzing is a bit too much, I'm overwhelmed every time I see a zutara post. Obviously, some analyzing is okay, I sometimes analyze ships, but I feel like zutartians do it sm that it feels kind of annoying?? Maybe that's just me, but I feel like you don't have to analyze things just to justify your ship. Just ship what you like
2.
I agree with the fact that zukka shippers tend to sideline women in fics. I've def read fics where katara is sort of villanized, and I definitely don't agree with that. A lot of the time, ppl prefer MLM ships to than WLW ship, (which if you ask me, is because ppl prefer male characters to female ones (*cough* misogyny *cough*)(though i dont think most of the misogyny is purposely done)) m 6
Idk if it's bc we're in different parts of the fandom, but I've never really seen ppl say that shipping zutara is wrong?? I've seen ppl say they don't like it, and why, but they always state that they don't care if people ship zutara and that they're only stating reasons they personally don't like it.
Perhaps it's because I tend to stay away from the more toxic part of the community because if I see smth I don't like I more often than not just scroll past. But I def believe that their are zukkas who are toxic, but I think some of that is just because ppl are toxic, no matter what fandom you're in.
I can't really speak on kataangers because while I do like the ship, I'm not really in that part of the fandom, so I'm not sure if ppl are unnecessarily mean to zutarians.
(Edit: nvm kataangers can be real assholes, I def believe that they're unnecessarily mean to ppl who dont ship kataang 😒😒)
3.
As for the zutara Fandom in the early 2000s I can't really speak on that bc I didnt watch atla until I wanna say 2017 or 2018. So I don't really know what the fandom was like.
So yeah, that's kinda my take?? Idk I spent like a good while trying to figure out what to say 🤧🤧

I want to address a few tweets I've seen floating around about Iroh, because I only ever see them mentioned by the crowd that believes that Iroh treated Azula so horribly, and I feel that's not quite the whole story. It's easy to see why people use them in their arguments, especially since they come from people who worked on the show, which adds an appeal to authority to the argument. I'm sure many people can guess which tweets I'm talking about right now. The first one, which mentions Iroh, is by Aaron Ehasz, in reply to a response to his now pretty well-discussed Azula redemption thread (which I will link if people aren't sure what I'm referencing.)
I have my own issues with Ehasz's proposal of Zuko acting as "Azula's Iroh," which I've talked about pretty extensively on my blog. While I'm not necessarily opposed to the idea, I think there is a very real danger in placing an abused kid in a position where he's responsible for the well being of someone who took part in his abuse. The way I've seen people use these tweets as "proof" that Azula "deserves" redemption, while insisting that Zuko, Iroh, and every other character that Azula hurt actually owe her, pretty much confirms that. As does the below reply.
Tumblr media
And there it is. The implication that Zuko would "surpass" Iroh by helping to fix someone who hurt him deeply and who has never wanted his help, nor apologized for the hurt she caused him. That this would, in fact, make Zuko a better person, along with the condemnation of Iroh for not equally sacrificing his own well-being or the well-being of those he was charged with protecting from Azula in the series.
I don't necessarily disagree with Ehasz' reply (although my opinion is colored with a skepticism of the entire thread because I think we need to take anything a creative says fifteen years later about a project they are no longer involved in with a grain of salt). It is, as he says, a cheeky and funny line, not really meant to be taken seriously or indicative of Iroh's relationship with Azula in general.
But that's just the thing. I don't think the line was ever meant to show that Iroh doesn't see Azula's humanity. Especially because the context under which he says it is after Azula has just tried to kill him. Not to mention Zuko saying that he thinks Iroh is going to shoot down his feelings that he needs to protect himself from Azula in favor of "getting along with" his sister.
I and others have defended the line because it's not wrong for Iroh to say that someone who has tried to kill him needs to go down. It's also not wrong, and even necessary, for him to tell Zuko that it's okay for him to want to protect himself from someone who hurts him, even if that person is family. If we are going to take this line as indicative of what Iroh thinks about Azula, I think this is far more in line with Iroh's canon characterization, because I agree with Ehasz, Iroh isn't a character who would easily dismiss the humanity of someone in pain. But there's also a line between seeing someone's humanity and allowing them to take advantage of you or others. And that's an important thing to distinguish because people who hurt others are often invested in blurring this line.
The other tweet I often see, which also was recently flung at me, to make the point that the fandom or the writers or Iroh or whoever is just wrongfully against Azula, is this one:
Tumblr media
I'm not gonna discuss the idea of Azula "needing" a redemption arc, because that's not really what I want to argue about here, and I'm neither opposed to nor in adamant favor of an Azula redemption arc.
I mostly want to talk about the second of Baldwin's tweets, because actually, yes, I agree. It does "seem odd" that Iroh can dismiss Azula like that.
And I'm not entirely sure if I'm missing the context here, but the thing is, it seems odd because it's not what happens in canon.
And again, I'm not sure what Baldwin is referring to, but every argument for Iroh's "dismissiveness" of Azula I've ever seen doesn't actually come across as dismissiveness of Azula at all. I already addressed the "she's crazy and she needs to go down" line, but the other examples I usually see are Iroh getting Azula a gift she doesn't like and Iroh not allowing Azula to hurt Zuko. Those things only come across as Iroh being dismissive if you actively ignore the ways that Azula hurts him and others and what those scenes are meant to tell us about the characters and their actions.
Just like with Ehasz having clout as a former head writer - and one who is often credited with some of the best character writing of atla - giving him some air of authority in these arguments, I think people assume that Baldwin, who voiced Iroh, must have some special connection to the character which makes him an authority. Not that actors making misinformed statements about their characters is particularly unusual.
But Baldwin only voiced Iroh in book three and beyond, and that gives us an explanation for why there might be that "odd" disconnect between Iroh's seeming "dismissivensss" of Azula in book two and the character who is a loving mentor to Zuko, willing to see the humanity in all sorts of people. Baldwin wasn't a part of book two Iroh the same as he is a part of the character in book three. He wasn't part of the creative decisions during Iroh's interactions with Azula in that book and didn't go on that journey with Iroh or share his thought process when he told Zuko that Azula needed to go down. Baldwin is defending the character that he knows Iroh to be, but not necessarily the Iroh he played, and without, perhaps, the full context.
Which is not to say that he's wrong. I just don't agree with him about what constitutes "dismissiveness" when you're dealing with an abusive person who isn't sorry for their actions and I think "everyone deserves a redemption arc" is one of those statements that sounds insightful in theory but don't think as many people would agree with in practice if you asked them if they thought x person deserved to be redeemed. Does Ozai deserve a redemption arc? Did Zhao? I also think we could debate about what "deserving" means in that instance. Does everyone deserve a redemption arc or does everyone deserve the chance for redemption, whether that chance is taken or not? And should that chance look the same for everyone?
I think people forget that Iroh is also a character who believes people make their own choices, that we choose our own destiny, and that we must. And he's pretty dismissive of Zuko when Zuko thinks his "destiny" makes him superior to others. He has obvious disdain for Ozai and Zhao, and it's clear where that disdain comes from when you listen when he says, for example, that he's never known Ozai to regret anything.
Iroh does believe in redemption, he tells Jet as much on the ferry ride to Ba Sing Se. But he also has clear disdain for those who refuse to change their ways, not despite his own redemption but because he knows personally that redemption is a choice.
All this is to say that I don't think Iroh would treat Azula dismissively if she truly were receptive to change. I don't even think he would or does refuse to see her humanity even when it's clear she has no intention of wanting redemption or that he's lost hope for her, as in the comics he does say that Zuko taking him to find their mother in the Search might be good for her. But seeing someone's humanity doesn't mean you have to make excuses for them, especially when that person has a repeated pattern of hurting you and others. And I think this is just as important to Iroh as a character because Iroh is as much a protector as he is a redeemer. As much as he believed in Zuko's redemption, he also encouraged Zuko to dispose of toxic outlooks and people in his life, because he had to do the same things. And as tragic and hard as that sometimes is to do, it doesn't make him less of a kind person.

Okay, so I usually try to stay out of discourse and drama and all of that because I'm here to have a nice time, but I saw a post in the OFMD tag after the whole Blackbonnet/Stucky poll thing that I really need to type about. It's just... so bad. Like, I totally get disliking things (I dislike things too!), and I understand that OFMD isn't everyone's thing, but wow. WOW. Um.
Tumblr media
While the first part's annoying (point to the tumblr fandom that has absolutely no one in it with a victim complex, please), what I really take issue with is the last bit -- the assertion that OFMD's cast diversity is there to be "inclusive" and "progressive" when the narrative isn't. That's just not true? One of the reasons for OFMD's popularity IS its inclusiveness! People who have never seen themselves represented in a show finally *see themselves* in some of these characters, and I think that's lovely. And the show has a wonderfully diverse crew behind the scenes and in the writing room as well!
As for "the narrative being the opposite"... all I can do is assume that OP never bothered watching OFMD. It's the most genuinely, earnestly inclusive and progressive piece of media I've ever consumed.
Tumblr media
The acting in OFMD isn't stylistically different from any other show I've watched. The situations and lines are often comedic, Stede and Ed are definitely prone to dramatics, and plenty of the characters are pathetic (affectionate), but this is such a weird critique. Or maybe I just haven't picked anything up from a lifetime of watching media and being a massive dorkass theater nerd? Idk. Maybe they just think the show itself is cringe (I certainly don't think it is, but that's something I've seen plenty of folks who dislike it say) and that colors their opinion on the acting?
Also: where's the slavery apologism? As many other people have said, there's definitely room for good faith criticism of OFMD: its tendency to gloss over the existence of slavery, the rom-comification of real, historic slaveowners, etc, but there's no apologia in the text of the show. (Correct me if I'm wrong! I'm very white and will defer to others here.)
Tumblr media
I'm gonna need some sources. I've seen the various accusations, but never evidence or anything that couldn't potentially be explained with context. (I don't actually take much issue with this point -- it's not a crime to think someone's annoying -- I just don't understand the constant vilification of Taika.)
Tumblr media
"REAL gay piracy," lol. I can't say much about Black Sails since I haven't watched it (tbh it doesn't sound like something I'd be able to enjoy), but I haven't seen that much seriousness in the OFMD fandom. Do I have all of the annoying crewmates blocked? Do y'all feel like you have a lot to prove? I personally only became invested in this poll when I saw the death threats from Stucky folks, and my impression from my timeline is that most everyone else was in the same boat.
If you ARE taking these polls to heart, please don't! They're for fun (sometimes petty) fandom drama! Win or lose, we all love our ships and our communities and we really don't need to prove anything to anyone (I say, typing out a response to a thing that got under my skin, resolutely not touching grass).
Tumblr media
THIS is where I had to start typing. WHAT DOES IT MEAN. How is a show with multiple canon queer couples gaybaiting? Isn't "canon gaybait" an oxymoron, or has the meaning changed? (I'm old, genuinely lmk if my millennial ass is missing something.) Again, I can only assume that OP either hasn't watched OFMD or hates fun romcoms, because the gayness of it all isn't the only thing the show has to offer. My brainworms have better taste than that.
Tumblr media
It's some of the best gay rep I've ever seen and I would be delighted to see better! I mean it! I've been in queer circles for almost two decades and in fandom even longer; OFMD is some of the best, kindest, most loving, genuine representation I've come across in that time. I truly hope that it's just the beginning of a new era in media.
"Weak fandom output." I am *drowning* in fandom output and I love that for me! "Driest gay kiss." I'm sorry you don't like awkward middle-aged men who think they're unlovable coming together in what might very well be the first loving kiss either of them has ever had, but I think it's very sweet and moving! No fictional characters have ever owned my brain like this before! I love my silly traumatized queer pirates who can't communicate to save themselves. They're very beautiful to me.
Anyway, that's enough of that. I've released the pettiness and I'm going to go back to being annoying about seeing the lads again in just a few more days. <3

MINORS DO NOT INTERACT, DO NOT FOLLOW.
THIS IS A MATURE BLOG OFTEN ENGAGING WITH DARK CONTENT, HOWEVER I STILL HAVE DNIs.
THIS BLOG CONTAINS NSFW, BLOOD AND GORE DRAWINGS, TONS OF TOXIC RELATIONSHIP AND OTHER TW (ALL PROPERLY TAGGED UNLESS I FORGOT ONE OR TWO. IF I DO PLEASE TELL ME!!!)
FULL DNI, DOS AND DON’T, FANDOM CONTENT WARNINGS BELOW. I AM BAD AT EXPRESSING SO IT GETS LENGTHY BUT UM HOPE IT CLEARS UP EVERYTHING
THIS USER DOES NOT ACCEPT INSULTS, VIOLENCE, ABUSE, SLURS, AND DEATH THREATS TOWARDS HUMAN IN REAL LIFE.
What to expect or not here:
⚠️VERY IMPORTANT
I can tolerate/will create darker themed content when it comes to Danny Johnson or Tom Riddle, as well as some other slashers or mature fandoms and villains. I would say this is NOT a safe blog (I mean come on those are bad guys what do you expect! Don’t be too delulu to a point you gonna make them a good guy). However I do not tolerate any form of violence, abuse and discrimination in real life. Seriously, get help if you come across to any of these.
All my darker artworks are NOT for you to follow irl (can’t believe I still have to say this in 2020s do people use their brains nowadays)— It is for me to explore darker concepts, trying to figure out how, for example, how people attracted by psycho criminals, WITHOUT using an existing criminal and hurting anyone irl. Bc everyone is FAKE, they don’t exist, it’s FICTIONAL. Also, to explore my own/seen traumas. I turn personal issues into NSFW kinks or simply dark shit etc, and cope with it as a fictional content. Not exactly the best idea I know but this keeps me sane and overthinking about the past irl. I do not tolerate death/abuse threats and insults towards human in real life, it’s stupid. And all of you should also keep every dark shit fictional content in fictional world. We do not need anymore crime irl thank you very much. Think before you act or talk. Fandom is not that serious to a point you wish death and suggesting violence upon someone.
For my Haikyuu or Naruto art those are mostly safe as hell (my opinion) just loving caring and tons of smooch smooch!😭💖 OMFG I MEAN BOKUAKA HOW YOU GONNA LOOK AT THEM AND THINK OF ANYTHING DARK HELLO EXCUSE ME
Generally I’m open-minded to all ships and kinks (even with complicated relationships where abuse are mentioned for plot reasons, or larger age difference), but l0lic0ns and ped0s you can do us a favour go fk yourself🖕😘🖕While I’m in horror movies fandom, I do not support real life criminals. If you do or even a delulu fan of them please stay away from every living beings, also fk you too🫶💓 I don’t engage with inc3st contents, however will bear it for past trauma, but will not read purely inc3st stories. Pseudo/step c3st sometimes okay (depends on context really). Also I draw& read& reblog dead doves, which contains different TW like abuse/non-con/dub-con, you have been warned!!!! If it’s dark content with NSFW, please only recommend me with characters at least over age of consent but much more better if they are of age coz tbh I’m more into adult relationships really ahem. DO NOT SEND ME CREEPY PED0 (UNDER AGE OF CONSENT) SHIT THROUGH “ASK ME”. YOU WILL BE BLOCKED AND REPORTED. Also usual DNIs coz I’m traumatised by how stupid they are considering I am the most stupid people on this planet— c0mmies/ z!onists/ transphobes/ TERF/ homophobes/ biphobes/ typical fujoshis who complains about hetero but do same shit if it’s gay, do not interact.
ABOUT NSFW OR COMMISSION— In all circumstances, I cannot and will not create NSFW art piece regarding minors under the age of consent. PLEASE DO NOT EVEN ASK COME ON DUDE…
Also I DO NOT accept any NSFW commission, even it’s purely about adult characters. Adult characters with a bit of suggestive content, maybe um okay base on context. If it’s a pairing or character(s) that is at the age of consent (not an adult), and is from NSFW story/series, but you wish to make SFW art, please check with me before commissioning. Coz sometimes I read darker content but really do not have the heart to draw it if it’s too much for me…However let me be clear again— ANY NSFW OR SUGGESTIVE ART OF MINOR CHARACTERS UNDER THE AGE OF CONSENT IS NOT OKAY FOR ME. I’M NOT COMFORTABLE DOING IT. DON’T EVEN BOTHER ASKING. PLEASE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I don’t post NSFW art directly (artistic nudes, maybe; explicit nudes? Nah). However, I talk nonsense/ adult jokes/ head canon on my socials, so please DNI if you are not comfortable with. I can’t check every single account before I reply, so minors and people who are not pleased with NSFW topics: if you see this post, do not engage with my posts even they are SFW. Sometimes posting slightly NSFW (aka suggestive) art or head canons directly, but will still tag it as NSFW.
I create art for my inner peace and needs. I cannot babysit and accommodate everyone, so, if you don’t like, don’t engage. The definition of “problematic ships” differs from person to person coz fk me people nowadays overuse this too much to a point idk what is & what is not…

Fandoms and ships
Dead by Daylight
Ghostface centric, Ghostface x OC/ x reader, sometimes GhostFrank, GhostMeg and GhostFrankMeg-the-daddy-issue-trio-poly
⚠️IMPORTANT: It’s totally okay to consume my version of Jed Olsen X OC content and imagining in your brain it’s you or whoever his S/O is, but I block people who draw my version of Jed with themselves/self-inserts/OCs, or generally drawing him. It’s a culture here: impolite to draw someone’s design without permission😭💦 So please don’t take it personally, it’s just me not comfortable with sharing my design of Jed with other people’s self insert/OC. Also I have many plans for him so when people draws him (even not a ship art), it might actually interfere with my WIP sketches and ideas which makes me so awkward like “should I continue when someone drew it already???” However I am glad many people like him! Thank you for giving him love he really doesn’t deserve it he belongs in the trash💥
PS. There are some designs out here alike which of course is fine, I do not own the character himself, but I‘ll stay away or block if it’s too alike/ overly referenced. I stay quiet about things I don’t like so unless shoving it in my face, I will just walk away🧍‍♀️💦Need not worry!
Haikyuu!!
BokuAka, sometimes Tsukishima centric and SunaKita
Harry Potter (Wizarding World)
Tom Riddle centric, Tomione. Casual: Tomarry, Drarry/Harco, Voldantonin, Antonmione, GGAD, SebOmi/OmiSeb, Sebastian Sallow x MC, Ominis Gaunt x MC, Seb+Omi+MC trio friendship.
⚠️I DO NOT SUPPORT JK ROWLING’S TRANSPHOBIC SPEECH. TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN. IF YOU CAN’T ACCEPT OTHERS HAPPINESS AND RIGHTS, THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR YOU. FK OFF.
ALSO THAT ONE TOMIONE ANON WHO KEEPS ANNOYING WRITERS WHEN THEY WRITE FOR OTHER PAIR— DO NOT INTERACT.
Don’t follow me for ships. See me as a cheap ass £10 all you can eat cushion buffet please. No quality of art here. Just pure delulu and bad drawing skills.
Naruto
KakaSaku, ObiRin, ObiKaka and InoSaku.
⚠️Note that my main ship in this fandom is KakaSaku, but only when Sakura is of age and usually I ship them in same age AU. And I don’t ship them if they were very close as student and teacher before Sakura of age (it’s really weird). I also love them as platonically best friends, the way their personalities work together if they were born in the same generation, not the teenage-creepy-forbidden-love-in-classroom-gro0ming type of shit, in case you start wondering. If there’s no KakaSaku tag or it is described as “platonic”, it means that art is not a romantic ship art. There might be some head canon etc about teenage SKR having a crush on KKS or both of them feeling butterflies in stomach, but I will always prefer Kakashi not stepping over the boundaries in some close to canon AUs. He is a very nice person and would never take advantage of SKR, I think. It’s true crushing on older people like this happens irl, so I admire the storytelling, but OOC af if KKS lets himself be this low. If you are still concerned or feeling uncomfortable about this ship, please block me. ALSO DON’T RECOMMEND REAL FKED UP CONTENT TO ME that was the reason I stopped drawing coz mentally grossed out I had to stay away from the fandom for at least a while💀 I swear those KKSK doujins from like 15+years ago grossed me a lot if you know which ones you know… hell I don’t wanna spread those out no one should ever read that… would do anything to unsee the cover of those doujins MY FKING BRAIN WAS DAMAGED FK
Other games, films and anime
Who’s Lila?, Cube Escape & Rusty Lake series, Year Walk, Disco Elysiumc, Good Omens, Hotline Miami, Chainsaw Man, Golden Kamuy, Dorohedoro, any Kon Satoshi/ Ito Junji/ Wong Ka Wai’s creations, Horror and thrillers, Sci-fics

What's this obsession of some people in the fandom so abruptly just decide JK can't stand Jimin and toss him aside like he's nothing just because he's doing restaurant tours and goes out with friends recently and Jimin is off line by choice? especially if Tae is around him? it's honestly bizarre how creepy and toxic that narrative is because that's not how real life works. do they think the guys wake up one day and just cutting people out of their lives changing who they like more or less by the day? "He has a new BFF" "that is a proof jkk were always fake" and the funniest "JK moved on from Jimin". howw??? when????? we know nothing about their private lives now more than ever yet they still spew this nonsense based on not knowing where Jimin is and tkk chilling. JK uploaded a birthday video only 2 months ago and talking about how his mom made him soup just because Jimin ate soup so how on earth it makes sense to think such drastic negative thing happened between them. seriously some people in this fandom need to go outside and stop projecting their creepy mindset on others. I noticed they also fail to see the big picture again and again, fans tend to judge or gloat according the content that drops by the day (even if the moment happened months ago) and don't realize that what they see sometimes is not what actually happened today and vice versa, and that every relationship is unique and important in different ways. we don't even know what Jimin or JK are doing right now (who knows maybe they watch the football final. maybe all 6 watch it together- we don't know). the concept of bonds and relationships in real life VS what people analyze and mocks gets twisted too quickly and turns into something very ugly and it happens mainly (only) to jikook. I never see the same treatment towards tajin or soup or tkk or vmin when they go radio silence or even after admitting on having past tensions, fans always give them the time and support and love and know they are good. it's bizarre and alarming how fast people choose to see the bad in jikook and only them based on... 60 days. it's going in circle for years. Insanity
My cranium hurts at this point
Tumblr media
All duh- TRUE. And isn't it crazy how Vmin remain soulmates even after battling it out to the death over dumplings? DUMPLINGS. WASN'T EVEN THAT DEEP.
No one admits to the ghettory that goes on behind scenes more than Vmin AND YET
SOULMATES
They are soulmates even though Tae's most epic songs were all inspired by his quarrels with JM.
At no point in time throughout those nasty fights were their soulmate status revoked- EVER even though the members literally voted them as the pair that fights the most. Even though their tensions sipps through most times such that even we on this end of the screen could sense it.
Hobi and Namjoon literally throw shoes at eachother when they mad, Jin made Tae cry like a six year old, Yoongi nearly tripped Tae down the stairs on gis way to edit his fansfics-( the exaggeration is mine if cos)
Vmin can be ghetto and soulmates in spite of Jikook and Tae Kook but God forbid Jikook throw cock roaches in eachothers pants cos the other didn't text back fast and suddenly they were never friends and whatever they had was fake.
Jikook comes off so real everyone trynna prove them false at this point. Tae Kook come off so false every one looking for the least evidence they are real.
And at first I used to think it was JMs Kumabaya ass that was driving him to always present their relationship positively out here but no. Now I think it's cos of all these pumpkin heads roaming the streets in 2D brains.
It's ok. Jikook can have issues too and STILL BE THE COUPLE OF THE GROUP.
It's okay if JK "toss" JM aside, when JIMIN THREATENED NEVER TO CARE ABOUT THAT MAN EVER AGAIN. Or did we forget about that? Their most slamdunk moment came after one of their MOST nastiest fights.
Yes VMin fight but guess what? They protect eachother from bullies too. They are complex human beings with complex emotions.
Jikook clearly have their own relationship struggles. They are human at the end of the day.
But I think I know where all these is coming from. Vminkook is a trio.
And wherever there is a trio, I feel these issues are bound to arise every now and then.
Tae Kook is part of vminkook just as much as Jikook is a part of Vminkook. Whenever Jikook bond- tuktukkers are bound to feel they do so at the exclusion of Tae. Just as some Jokers feel right now that Tae kook are excluding Jimin because they don't see "evidence" of those two hanging out with JM.
But that is not our place to decide.
These men- I SAID MEN- Can decide for themselves. If JM feels left out nothing stops him from letting those two know.
I mean we've been through this phase already haven't we? Jikook complaining Tae don't have time for them because he was filming with all these other actors?
And didn't JK just say publicly, call JHope out publicly for leaving his dance out of a compilation?
Do we not have a video of Jungkook starting his own Vlive in impulse because Jinmin left him out of their Vlive?
Don't members say when they feel left out? Sometimes more expressly, other times passive aggressively?
I try to approach these matters with a little bit of sensitivity and understanding most times but i swear sometimes I feel my sphincter snapping.
But yea sometimes the members themselves feel excluded, left out and Isolated every now and then. It happens. They feel lonely, they miss this, they miss that and they say it. Hobi says he misses JM, Tae says he misses JM.
Suga got ill and JM turned into OliLondon carrying his cutouts around so he feels included.
They hit eachother up, show up at eachother's homes, go for drinks, catch up- DO WHAT NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS DO WHEN THEY MISS THEIR FRIENDS.
So no, I'm not about to stress my edges off over two grown adults navigating a three way friendship.
But I can understand where jokers are coming from. Everyone wants their ship to thrive. Everyone wants assurance their OTP are doing fine and that there's nothing wrong with them and they going strong.
Yet I am in no position to offer that assurance to anyone. Nor am I open to any angsty supposition. I take Jikook as they come. It's their relationship not mine.
That said, if they try to break up I will find them, put a water pistol to their heads and intimidate them into exchanging vows🙂
If Jimin misses Tae Kook HE CAN CALL THEM UP.
And who even is to say he is not doing just that?
They went out to Harry styles' concert ALL THREE OF THEM
They post their VMINKOOK power photos every now and then.
They are aware they are a three way friends group- THEEE MAKNAE LINE OF BTS
Most times I feel people deal in extremities- on one hand, there are those delusionally pessimist gang who think the worst case scenario is playing out with Jikook, and on the other hand there's the delusionally optimist who think nothing could ever be wrong.
After listening to Jimin explain how much Tae had changed, listening to tuktuk talk out their problems and hearing how the Busan bros nearly disbanded, I would be a fool to dismiss any tensions.
But the truth i feel sits somewhere in the middle.
Jikook really could be going through something( worse case)
They really could be going through nothing( best case scenario)
Or they could be JUST FINE but then having very human moments of being petty out of missing eachother, feeling left out, feeling the other is too busy, or becoming too overwhelming, being too prideful to pick up the phone to call and leaving words unspoke or just struggling to recalibrate their relationship because they are on different paths, with different goals and different objectives- not to mention schedules.
And I know I joke about this but for Jungkook, for someone who goes to another member's room to just sit there at 1am, I don't suppose he takes too well with being lonely.
Jimin equally talked about how he used to struggle being by himself because he was scared of his own thoughts.
These people deal with some serious stuff out there.
Jimin even intimated to Jungkook how lonely he feels.
They all nearly went crazy when they were forced to isolate because of covid. It's not easy.
Personally, I have always been one of the view Jikook were too close to codependent for their own good and have always advocated for independence and just a little space for each to nurture and foster healthy relationships with other people.
Jungkook cannot just substitute JM with Taehyung. Because then, like you said it would be the same cycle. You can't fill the void left by people with people and things and Jungkook is a smart guy to know this.
Tae Kook begun laying the foundation for whatever dynamic we are seeing out here long before they announced their Solo. From their sope conversation, to end of year selca, Tae Kook min vlive, to them posting eachother and liking the others post.
I don't know why it has some people in a twist😆
You can literally draw a straight line through their relationship. It ain't deep💀
People are busy worrying bout tuktuk but all I want to know is WHY JIMIN DYED HIS HAIR 😫😫😫😫
Is it for a concept shoot? MV? Variety show?
I don't want to spend my money on that bag only for him to drop his album and I'm broke as hell😭😭😭
As for Jokers we miss our ship, we miss everything they stand for, we all wanted them- expected them to be posting each other like crazy, liking each other's posts and commenting just like old times on Twitter-
We all miss Jimin playing cheerleader to JKs Quarterback.
We all wanted to see them out here supporting each other above all else- even haters thought that's what was going to happen.
Let's take our Ls in pride and hope for the best
Tumblr media
And let's all be honest and say we just hate that tuktukkers are happy
Tumblr media
Chilee lemme speak for myself it kills me to see Tuktukkers frolicking around laughing like hyenas
Tumblr media
Time to sacrifice a Virgin on my jikook gods alter
The jikook karma is brewing I just know it
What we are not going to do is lie on Jungkook, villainize him and make him out to be some traitor to our course. Cos if Jikook has taught us anything, it is that no one forces Jungkook to interact with anyone.
Neither are we going to hate on Taehyung and blame him for "stealing" Jungkook and wrecking Jikook's relationship.
As with everything, let's just wait it out and see how Jikook unfolds in this new phase.
It breaks my heart knowing very well if JM dares to like or comment on Jungkook's post- THEY WILL DRAG HIM FOR FILTH😔😔😔😔😔
But let's see.
I mean it's two posts up and already he shut his DMs.
Tuktukers turn my anus hair gray I swear to GGGOD!

If my OC was canon how would the fandom treat them? - For Abrogail Strong
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You saw how fandom treated sansa stark, right? This is literally gonna be Recycled Sansa Discourse.
Okay kudos to @selfproclaimedunicorn, @acrossthesestars, and @songsonacliffside for their input on this!
Abby would absolutely be a divisive character in a fandom that's fighting over modern feminism, how to be a woman, morals, and other things that just get way too personal and out of hand. I can imagine the thought pieces we used to see on like 'Why is Abrogail Strong an outtdated female protagonist' or 'Why Abrogail Strong is Important' declarative things - because nothing gets people going harder than 'is this a feminist model'.
So while I absolutely, 100% understand why Abby isn't for everyone, there would be some seriously frustrating and gross takes about her. We know how George likes to recycle his archetypes, and so number one, those who hated Sansa, especially early seasons!Sansa, would pull that out.
Abby would be seen as covering for Aegon, being blind to his faults and a terrible enabler who doesn't care for any of the women in Aegon's crossfire. They'd take any sense of comfort that Abby gives Aegon to make it sound like she's victim blaming. That's not even mentioning calling her Alicent 2.0, and how Aegon's only into her because of his mommy issues and if he can't please his mother, he can please her and uwu someone rescue poor Aegon.
There's a set of Targ Stans that get into how Aegon should have married Helaena instead, and how her and Aegon don't actually love each other, Aegon just likes her pretty.
A real anon I got was in regards to Abby not being a Real Strong, and being a traitor and a whore for just wanting to fuck a rapist (Aegon). They would call her manipulative and grasping, and outsider who used her proximity to the prince to use her magical feminine hypnosis powers to get him to marry her so she could become queen, because she had no chance of doing that if she went with Rhaenyra because she can't marry Jace (but then you'll see the AUs where Rhaenyra leans in hard and marries Jace and Abby for the cover story). On top of that, she totally knew Larys was murdering their father and Harwin, so she gets the 'murders family for a cornchip for a chance to become queen'. NOT to mention, she must never have loved Harwin or honored his memory if she's not leaving to Dragonstone with Rhaenyra to serve her.
Other discourse would also involve her not plotting Larys' murder for killing their family and why isn't she so incapacited with grief. Harwin deserves a better sister! Lyonel Strong would be rolling in his grave at his daughter destablizing the realm!
Book readers would point out that Abby was absolutely a broken mess and grief stricken and much like Daemon's grieving scenes with his daughters, was cut from the show.
Then we have the classics: She's too perfect and too sweet. She's too immature or too mature. She's naive, she's silly. Disney princesses don't belong in Westeros. She's a punching bag and therefore Attention Whore or she is protected by the writers because she's fucking someone in charge. She's not playing the game and that's Unrealistic vs She's totally playing the game and absolutely planned to marry Aegon and become queen when she was 5 years old. Her denial of even seeking the throne is seen as fake and 'didn't you see how her eyes shifted away?'
And then there's a particularly cruel subset who I would imagine would want Abby to um, suffer in very particular ways so she can get what's coming to her, for being naive of the game, or being too part of the game.
And then if you're on the right side of loving Abby, well, you're in the trenches. For every post of taking down Abby and explaining why she's terrible and clearly the co-mastermind behind the dance, you'll have posts breaking down why she's important to have. That women are allowed to be soft and don't have to carry a sword or yell at people and 'Not Be Like Other Girls'. Most of the time you're defending her from antis, and other times you're breaking down the subtle way her grief and trauma have shaped the person she is.
I see general audiences really appreciating who Abby is in terms of being a sunbeam in a bleak story. I'm a fan of p'reviewed on youtube, and Jay said at the end of an episode once how watching HotD doesn't leave him feeling 'good' after an episode. and so I can see Abby absolutely being someone audiences appreciate for some hope and relief. People who like Abby are absolutely 'protect this girl at all costs' and definitely a 'Aegon doesn't deserve her why does she put up with this guy, have her hook up with someone else!' but then you get the soft moments between Aegon and Abby and everyone is like 'OH MY GOD WHY ARE THEY SO CUTE LET THEM BE HAPPY' and something something 'their love was made for a softer time'
Like my lovely commenters on Maiden, I totally see the Abby x Aegon shippers to be a wonderfully feral bunch who like to make a lot of comparison posts. They'd dig into old stories of the influences of the ship, as well as tirelessly defending it.
Other than that, I think there's a lot of arguments over book fans over the show adaptation of her as most of the stuff we get upset about. I imagine there's Aemond x Abby ships out there, and there's a lot of projection onto her as a character so people fight over canon vs fanon interpretations. She's definitely a type I think a lot of people struggle to find a voice for. I can see a lot of fix-it fics attempting to make Abby very badass.
Personally, I would give her Vermithor LMAO

How much of Stephanie’s flaws do you think is character flaws and how much is sexist writing? Because while some stuff I’ve heard about her seemed like red flag, but I’m also wary of pointing them out because there’s so much sexism in DC Comics and I don’t wanna fall victim to sexist takes. Do you have any clarity on that conundrum?
That is, I think, a much more complicated question than you'd intended it to be. Let me narrow this down to just one flaw to show you what I mean:
In Steph's original appearance (Detective Comics #647-649), her one real "character flaw" is anger. It's what drives her to move against her father, sure, but it's also what nearly leads her to murdering him, it drives the conflict between her and Batman & Robin, and it's the reason Bruce describes her as being, quote, "on no one's team but her own."
When she's made a supporting cast member in Robin, however, the anger is still there, but it's no longer treated as a character flaw... partially because Chuck Dixon has a tendency to write angry characters as a default. Instead of being something that gets her into trouble, it's treated as a trait that makes her a "spitfire" full of "righteous anger," by which I mean Dixon used her as a mouthpiece to scream insults at anyone with an opinion he didn't like and had her beat up men that "deserved it," both with the assumption that readers will agree with her, because the narrative is on her side and portrays her as being in the right.
This is largely how Steph's anger is handled for the rest of her characterization, when the exception of one storyline written by Jon Lewis, who framed it more as a thing to get Steph sympathy -- it gets her into trouble at one point, sure, but is otherwise written with an undercurrent of, "this poor girl, the world has been so very mean to her, don't you just want to comfort her?"
The thing is, that treatment of her violent anger as something righteous and okay, where she's always in the right and the people she hurts always Deserve It? You can argue that that's a form of sexist writing, because there are scenes where she behaves abusively and it's not treated as abuse or even a bad thing, because she's a girl and women's abuse is not taken seriously. You even see this in how she's treated by the audience -- she's got basically the same anger issues as Jack Drake, and yet while interpreting Jack as a abusive is widely accepted by certain parts of the fandom, the same is not true of Steph.
Other people would argue that portraying her as angry at all is inherently sexist (and I don't agree with this, but I have heard people make this argument, stupid as it is) because it makes her look like a "shrew" or a "woman scorned" or otherwise plays into negative stereotypes of women's emotions.
Which then leads the modern version of her, colored by and primarily based on her portrayal in Batgirl (2009) by Brian Q. Miller, where Steph just, doesn't have anger issues, at all, or at least so the narrative would claim. She gets fired up in a fight, sure, but ~she doesn't have a mean bone in her body~ and is always so ~smiley~ and ~happy~ and just a ~sweet widdle polyanna~ who only wants to do ~the right thing.~
But see, that, ditching the anger issues entirely? That's also sexist! Women should be allowed to be angry and still have the potential to be treated as heroes! Getting rid of it because you can't think of how to make a woman with anger issues into a likable and compelling character is sexist! Especially because it takes away her initial motivation and doesn't replace it with anything.
And that's just kind of how it is for all of the traits you could call her character flaws. The only ones we can say for sure are deliberate are those that wind up contributing to the plot, and even then, they very well might have some sexist writing wrapped up in them.
It's really not a simple black or white situation. But like I mentioned in one of my other posts, I ultimately think that the best way to address both deliberate character flaws and sexist writing is to work them into the plot and make them matter, resolve and explore them somehow, rather than trying to toss them away and pretend they never happened. That option is just as sexist as any other, and it's also unsatisfying and lazy. There's a long history of comics that proves people can do better.

Can I ask you about bnha in a more harsher sense? Like not only in the fandom but also IRL?
I honestly don't trust people who genuinely hate the lov in bnha. Especially the type of people that think they should die.
There are a lot of reasons I could give but I think one of the biggest ones is the complete lack of understanding of 'why' the villains exist like they do, and even if they do know why they don't care or have any sympathy for them.
They want a kind of merciless "justice" against the real victims of hero society (the villains, for reasons clearly layed out in the story, who no one in hero society cared about until the point when it became their problem), because "innocent people" and "heroes" were hurt and killed (the civilians in MHA who, to go about their ordinary day, wouldn't look twice at a bloody suffering child) and (people who completely of there own free will sign up for the hero job and can apparently just quit and walk away even in a time of crisis, rich, popular and who '''suprisingly''' don't want anything to change unless it's a change for their benefit, 'heroes are people too!' seriously??)
They're the kind of people that only see labels, villains bad, heroes good, innocent people = innocent (👉in reality innocent but not good). And never question let alone accept why, and then want death and judgement even though it it won't accomplish anything (not even stop the deaths since the issues that made the lov are still there)
People like that are the same kind that are on the wrong side of every issue, even when admitting there is a problem unwilling to do what's necessary to fix it and still judging. That's how I feel and I wanted to ask you if you felt the same way? How do you feel about them? And everything I said above, if it's okay to ask?
I totally get what you mean.
It seems to me that some readers & viewers just don’t want to think to much about this series and see it simply as black & white as possible. As though the “Heroes” and “Villains” are exactly as described and should be treated exactly as morally monochromatic as those words imply (never mind how those words are normally just abbreviations of “Pro Heroes” & “The League of Villains”; the respective sides’ faction names); ergo it is morally unquestionable to defeat said villains by any means necessary and never question anything in the process involved, especially the villains’ origin or the consequences to follow those means.
Feels like they’re too used to the “I was wronged but now I will stab this extra to prove I’m irredeemable and wrong”-type villain. The League are not like that. Shigaraki in particular is never wrong.
But they don’t care. Even in my most charitable read possible for those particular fans; they’re here watching a Shonen to turn their brains off so moral complexity makes them weirdly mad. (Never mind the uncharitable reads.) And that gets them saying sketchy and at times scary stuff about how the victims of society need to die or go to jail forever because they didn’t suffer silently until they died, and instead disrupted the ‘sacred’ status quo. Any other fate is “the worst possible ending”. Ugh. It kind of reminds me of that one Tumblr post about how one guy likes the moral simplicity of Hollywood military vs alien conflicts; only for another guy to point out how weird it is to say there’s nothing wrong in the army killing invaders like they’re sub-human when all those terms are too easily applied to minorities.
Except I’m quite confident MHA is not trying to be that kind of propaganda; these guys are just bad at literary analysis and don’t know what this series is saying about its villains and their victimhood.
And of course no thought is given as to how to prevent other kids from growing up in the League’s situations, thus looping back to where we are now and rendering all the heroes’ efforts inevitably moot. As long as they get a cool climactic fight where Deku beats the big bad, they get what they want out of this series.
What? That just proves Shigaraki ultimately right? Again? ...Eh whatever. Cool fight, that’s what matters.

i have so many thoughts about how the anti-fandom (particularly anti-fanfic) crowd nearly ALWAYS derides fanfic for being sexual. i noticed it the first time in this video essay (linked to the relevant segment), and now i see it everywhere.
under a cut for being long as hell and also discussing nsfw topics. if you are a minor, here’s your warning. thanks.
if you don’t want to watch the video, let me just tell you that the first three quotes included mention “voltron fetish porn,” “larry stylinson mpreg” and a coffee shop slow burn (omg, are we not going to talk about sex this ti-) “where the climax is an entire chapter of two guys fucking.”
ah, there it is.
and like, yeah, those fics exist. a lot of them probably don’t have a ton of literary value. do you think mass market erotica that all has the same shirtless dude on the cover has a ton of literary value?
(both of those things do have value, though. it’s seriously okay to read something for fun. i promise. it doesn’t have to have themes or be #deep.)
and on the one hand these people are clearly naming these specific examples partially as shock value. OBVIOUSLY no one who says dante’s inferno is fanfic (it’s not—which is the point of the video essay and a different topic entirely) is putting it on the same level as “voltron fetish porn.” obviously a non-fandom person, seeing that, is going to be disgusted and agree with you, probably.
but it also just speaks to the general idea that sex has no inherent value. it’s the same attitude that wants to cut “unnecessary” sex scenes from traditional original fiction, since ofc sex never moves the plot along in any way ever.
and that’s stupid! that’s fucking stupid. you’re going to tell me that every other human activity is poetic and important and beautiful but sex, for whatever reason, needs to be hidden and never talked about and is not any of those things. no.
and for the record i’m saying this as an asexual (sex-favorable) person, if for some reason that matters. i don’t know. i don’t think all or even most stories should have explicit sex scenes in them. i just think it’s a neutral or even positive thing when they do. and not all smutty fanfic is automatically meaningless.
in some fics, the sex is the point. like, sometimes it’s about the vulnerability. do i have to bring out thrust issues I WILL BRING OUT THRUST ISSUES. fuckit. you get to listen to me talk about it.
Thrust Issues is a marvel (stevetony) fic by Sineala that i read for the first time as a freshman in high school bc that’s what you get with unsupervised internet access. it’s not the worst thing i read at that age. anyway.
the fic is crack-treated-seriously, so keep that in mind. the premise goes that after an extremely rough mission, the avengers return to the tower only to be attacked hours later. steve was incredibly sleep-deprived and doesn’t hear the alarm, so tony goes to wake him and accidentally gets an eyeful of a sleeps-naked steve and his extremely naked extremely huge dick. after the fight they talk it out. steve admits that he doesn’t have penetrative sex because Dick Too Big.
tony, being in love with steve, offers to help a pal out by training himself to take steve’s monster cock. steve, being in love with tony, assumes this is the closest thing to a relationship he’s going to get and agrees. thus ensues the stupidest friends-with-benefits arrangement ever.
and that sounds silly and dumb and not at all profound, right?
but listen. friends with benefits is a ripe trope for this. because you have the intimacy, you have this vulnerability, and in thrust issues it is specifically an intimacy that steve has not had with other people, in a context that has usually been uncomfortable for him in the past.
you have your rules. it’s not real if you don’t kiss, until in the heat of the moment you can’t help it. it’s not real if you don’t use pet names, until one slips out and no one acknowledges it because no one wants to know if it was an accident or really meant.
you keep this arrangement out of your work life until you realize your lives are even more entangled than before and suddenly your reputations and lives are on the line because you get distracted. until suddenly one of you is being blackmailed and you don’t have an alibi because your alibi is your fuckbuddy.
until one of you isn’t out. and you’re not sure you can come out.
until you don’t know if your lunch date is a date date. until the lines blur and you don’t know what’s going on anymore. until you’re both each other’s best relationship and the whole thing is a lie, an experiment.
until someone blurts “i love you” in the middle of sex and you have to convince yourself that it’s not real, just hormones, but it was real and now they think you don’t love them back.
anyway that’s thrust issues. it’s a wild ride of a fic that has made me cry. steve and tony are already balancing secret identities and tony is balancing a huge amount of corporate stress re: blackmail and now they have this beautiful, awful extra secret on top and everything tangles together until it collapses. and none of it would work if half of it wasn’t gratuitous sex scenes.
do i need to bring up Bonnie & Klein? fine, i’ll do that too. it’s a BNHA (bakudeku) fic by surveycorpsjean where 20yo bkdk get thrust ten years into the future and do selfcest with their future selves. super not valuable and totally weird, amirite.
except it’s about seeing that your future is everything you’ve ever wanted, while the person who is supposed to make it happen seems disgusted. it’s about the relationship between your current self and your past. it’s about insecurities and hurting people before they can hurt you and coming back together anyway. it’s quite literally about self love. it’s about using sex to break down emotional walls and get important messages into stupid dumb thick skulls. it’s about knowing that this future isn’t guaranteed, but it is possible. hope.
and it is also about seeing two different versions of your local super hot hero couple bang. they are not mutually exclusive.
that one also makes me cry. partially because i’m a trans person with a fraught relationship to my past self. god. the fucking care that older deku takes with younger deku. they way that it’s so clearly helpful for both pairings, because the older ones are able to see their own growth. i sob when i get to the last chapter. i’m sorry i got off track i just had to wax poetic about this fic. actually i’m not sorry fuck you it’s important to me. and again, the sex is the point. it could be done without it, but a lot of the emotional impact would be lessened.
(i don’t even know how controversial selfcest is tbh. where’s that poll about fucking your clone.)
i already wrote about other popular smut tropes in fanfiction and the way they deal with gender and sex and consent.
i’m sorry if you think sex is dirty and bad and wrong or that kink is freak shit. i’m sorry you’re boring and unimaginative. i’m sorry there’s a whole world of meaning you’re ignoring.
i’m not saying all smutty fanfic is beautiful works of art that belong in a museum, or even that most of it is. i’m saying it’s stupid to dismiss an entire category of fanfic, or fanfic AS A WHOLE, because sometimes porn is just porn. lots of not-fanfic things are just porn for the sake of porn. it’s okay. you won’t die.
this got way longer than i expected. sorry not sorry. also if you want to see an alternate universe based entirely around bdsm that uses kink as a foundation for exploring trauma and recovery….i have a blog for you. @flfverse
that’s all, unless i’m still in my feelings in fifteen minutes.

I wish the fandom discourse surrounding Jason wasn’t what it was because it honestly really sours my opinion of him a lot of the times. I’ll read something with him in it and I’ll be like “he was neat in this and I liked his character” and then I go on tumblr and I see the worst takes imaginable like “Jason only hurts people who deserve it” or “Jason can’t be blamed because he has pit madness” or “Jason is women-coded” and I’m just like “nvm I don’t like him anymore” 😔. I want to like him but at least 50% of the people who talk about him need some reading comprehension first lol
Ya that is so true... and i feel like in most cases is not even just "needing reading comprehension" at this point. There are people that genuinelly never read comics or don't want to, but are interested in the characters, i guess. Or they just read 1 issue and other specific posts online about them... though this might just be speculation on my part... but still.
Jason is a complex character and one that in some ways can resonate with a lot of people. Which is great. But, it also leads to people somehow becoming blind to the character's mistakes and outright inconsistecies in his actions and motivations, which is what actually makes him so interesting in the first place.
Also, either talking about some readers or non-readers, both tend to pick and choose what constitutes "good" or "meaningful" or "real" writing for a character (especially one like Jason). Like ya, the canon writing can be inconsistent at times (and sometimes to a annoying and disrespectful degree), but that doesn't automatically erase all the character development, thoughts and experiencies that led Jason down the path he did. I mean, how tf can you seriously "look in my eyes and say" that Jay's actions in, and some after, UTRH are "good/justified by the pit/completely justifiable by his trauma/etc".
Like, i love Jason, and he is in my top favourite characters. Lots of people love this character, and understandably for various reasons, but i think some people also need to reevaluate if they are actually "falling in love" with the actual character presented to us in canon or a fantasy version of him that they created and then spread around the internet. And well, sometimes it feels like some people have the need to make their fave characters "squeacky clean", because they are afraid to support a "bad/evil" character or something... and like, your favourite characters and stories don't define your morality, lol, only the motivations that you have for liking them in the first place, with messed up filosofies and actions in all. This is meant to be entertaining, not a morality contest online, lmao... but i think i am kinda getting ahead of myself... the point is that people seem to have gotten too used to having just the way they want it, despite the actual "truth" that comes from canon, and some also treat it like some kind of contest of "who is the most traumatized uwu boi out there".... especially with the Batboys... okay sorry for the rant, but i am so tired of people just looking at the stories and the situations in them just from the perspective of their fave.
What is the point of having a fave in an universe/stories where the fave can do no wrong and where you choose to ignore the other characters' motivations and if your fave is actually "in the right" in any capacity. Also, your fave being in the wrong is very fun to read, ok. Stop interpreting everything they do with "emotional and moral" justifications. Sometimes they are just messed up individuals and that are wrong in the actions they have taken - and this is great,, it's wonderful, because it gives them more complexities and it gives you more to explore with your fave... so the question is: why do people like so much to "minimize" their fave and put them (usually) in the victim that did no wrong box... like, where is the fun in that, really? I mean, if some people want a flawless character that did no wrong ever or whose wrongs can be always somehow justified, then i think they should probably look into other characters in dc to get attached to and talk about or if they don't find them in dc look for them in something else that might be more to their liking (just a suggestion, idk).
Anyways, i think the best thing that can be done is to try to instead spread more knowledge about how Jason and other characters are actually like. Because it is very difficult to make people change their minds when they already reach certain conclusions. And also to how to start reading comic books in some cases... though other people in fandom are doing a ton of meta posts and reading guides for characters to help new readers, is just a question of personal want and understanding if they truly want to engange with this media as it truly is.
Also, if you like a character in canon material, i think that you shouldn't let fanon interpretations ruin them for you... i understand it can be kinda hard because it is every where, unfortunatly. But hey, maybe the more people start talking more reasonably about them and truly coming from canon, things in fandom discourse might change (or at least i hope it does a little, lol).

You know I don't usually mention them but praise the voice actors of the Sun and Moon show or writer's if they actually hired some for getting legit real world problems in regards to mental health and illness.
Like Im actually somewhat recovered from PTSD and I think that the killcodes an Manifestation of those screwed up fight or flight instincts within moon and there's a good likeliness that it just put moon in safe mode so he doesen't die from ""braindamage" and is deliberately keeping away from him. Infact how sun treated moon in the past triggers my PTSD it was so alike how I was treated of course another trigger was getting into the SAMS fandom in the middle of the time where it was okay to excuse sun's actions cause he's a "pure little baby" and I had just come from a fandom where that was going on as well and I was stile reeling about it.
Also the issue of the "pure little baby thing" Infantilization that helps another get away with crimes is stile infantilization maybe if most people treated sun as the responsible one then maybe he would not have developed his anxiety issues or actually noticed and lessened his brothers burden of course theirs a chance that his ego would go way up but that's another can of lethal worms.
it's why I'm so savage to him to get his shit together cause moons completely reliant on him even when they seperated I'm so glad Monty showed up being completely reliant on only one person is really messed up.
They got me legitly worried that they would get into the way more controversial SA stuff that usually goes along with mass enslavement and torture
I'm stile not fully convinced that they didn't use the fact that they are robots to slip stuff behind the censors with how lunars creation was. It even went threw mine but at the same time this can be confirmed or denied due to them being robots and the fact that moons aroace is a other aspect.
The fact that eclipse seriously needs to get treatment for his maybe sexual sadism towards moon is another seriously not even killcode tortured moon that much.

ok it's nighttime where i am which makes it PERFECT to go on about my
✨post-crystallized ninjago brain ramble and non-critical retrospective✨
because. ninjago do be making my brain go !! and i need to yell abt it to myself to my blog void b4 i go onto dragons rising and stuff. i talked abt this on discord but only 2 ppl following me are in that server so wtv (hi btw X3)
i want to preface this by saying i dont interact with the ninjago fandom at all, and i know near nothing about behind-the-scenes things or stuff said by production. this is all my thoughts babeyy (which means im going to sound absolutely clueless and talk abt things that hav probably already been resolved. wtv) none of this is supposed to be critical thinking LOL pls dont attack me. i sound complainey but i dont hate the show, this is how i show love for media <3
really the most pressing thing to me was. being really frustrated about garmadon’s whole arc at the end of tournament of elements. yknow when misako finds out about the letter. i feel like they didn’t really go into depth about RESOLVING that whole thing, like showing the repercussions and thoughts of all parties involved after the fact? how does this affect their family? i suppose misako and lloyd talked about it during day of the departed, kind of? but. my needy ass just goes “IT WASN’T ENOUGH.” really, i don’t really like character death or sacrifice as the resolution to a conflict or arc unless it’s done really well, and. is this supposed to feel unsatisfying?! because it is to me!!
yes. i know it’s a kids show. its super likely something's going over my head right now, but. it really made me think again because misako and garmadon didn’t really even talk after harumi revived his oni side, and especially after all the interactions lloyd and garmadon had during crystallized. seriously, someone rec me fics that explore misako and garmadon talking post tournament of elements please JDKWNFJSND. and really i didn’t hate the resolution of tournament of elements... this is my single major nitpick about it LOL
continuing with that thought, like. lloyd has lost his dad multiple times... this isn’t fair to him!!! give bro a break!!! (silly) (i know its fiction LOL) honestly why doesn’t he have WORSE trust issues after considering his mom and harumi and all the other people who’ve abandoned slash betrayed him?! and yeah misako really is the least terrible offender here, and i’m not blaming her— but ya can’t ignore that it DID affect him. this is why i was really excited for the prospect of a corruption arc for him during crystallized, however brief. he deserves it! let him destroy a few buildings, maybe kill a guy! let him fulfill his rise of the serpentine dreams, but for real this time! again REC ME FICS RAGHH
...though yes. i know he’s developed really far to the point he’d never hurt people like that, and tbh you could say he was never really evil in the first place but. you gotta understand that the corruption arc is one of my FAVORITE tropes. i’ll do anything for em... it’s my fatal flaw...
heck like. this is why i was really excited for the ice emperor because i KNEW that was zane the moment i saw him LMAO. he’s my favorite character how can i not tell. but in the end he just lost his memories and was being manipulated by some other bad guy... same thing goes for possession, lloyd wasn’t the bad guy, it was morro possessing him... its not the same </3 let them be lead astray even WITH their past memories and relationships and feelings... i need the angst... (you can tell im insane because im saying this about a lego show)
anyways point is. i like corruption arcs. and i WILL write fic about the ice emperor gaining more agency no matter how out of character and detached from the original message it is. (even sillier connotation)
okay thats the end of me nitpicking for now, i think. i mean i have a lot of qualms... esp about wu characterization in the new animation studio half, but. thats one thing i know that has been talked abt AT LENGTH. and idk if this is an unpopular opinion but i liked all da seasons for different reasons, they all appeal to my different happy little facets of media i enjoy :) im still fresh off of watching the show again for the first time in forever so this opinion will probably change, who knows.
really im just happy to have gone thru the whole main series! including wu's teas! not including dragons rising tho. ill get around to that after this. and maybe look into more production and behind the scenes stuff, and the games and supplementary content too. i love consuming content 🥰
anyway... uhm. can you tell zane is my favorite. because i said it explicitly some sentences ago. god he is so. ykwhat heres a screenshot bc i dont want to write this all out again
Tumblr media
thanks for listening bye :3
ninjago... my favorite piece of inherently kind of problematic but overall very fun and well meaning media (esp in the later seasons compared to the earlier ones)... kisses it
