Ophelia Villa has gotten quite the face lift in my save file!

I came across this Victorian-inspired family home on Pinterest and it felt like the perfect mesh of my personal style & the Goth family. While the exterior is whiter and brighter than the original Ophelia Villa, I tried to stay true to the Goth family’s essence for the interior. Cassandra’s bedroom is probably my favorite room in the home - I’ve reimagined her into a bit of a pastel goth (she’s rebelling against the family norm, ok?).

I think this is one of my favourite makeovers! Ophelia Villa, home of the legendary Goth Family.

The living room is overstated and ostentations and I hate it and love it at the same time.

Kitchen with an informal dining area...

...and the formal dining area comes equipped with a fully stocked bar.

Love the bold colours in Cassandra's room!

Moved away from the very gothic aesthetic in the master bedroom. I wanted it to be elegant and feminine, but of course with the gorgeous deep red accents.

They have a small; just enough space for a little patio for some alfresco dining.

I do love this house - inspired by the new castle kit, although it is featuring a lot of the walls from Get Together too!

Bella & Mortimer renovated their house with a little more of a modern touch. Especially the living-room, and the kids room. Cassandra has a real teenager's room, and Alexander is obsessed with the color blue. Meanwhile, Mortimer likes his old stuff so they kept their own suite that way. But at least with the big windows, the sun is really coming in, and it makes the kids happy.

Bella Goth got autumn depression from all the dark rustic at Villa Ophelia. Fearing that she might run away forever, Mortimer had the mansion renovated in a more modern style. For this he used objects from EA and from Hel Studio. Also integrated are objects from collaborations between Hel Studio and Milja Maison (courtyard kitchen), Sundays (April Set) and SimspirationBuilds (Santorini). 

Hel Studio is retired and no longer offers her content. If you are a true fan of hers like me and own all her content, put your complete Hel Studio folder into your mods folder (and the collaboration-cc). Do all batchfixes. Find the house “What The Hel” in the gallery and download it. Then use the Sims Tray Importer.  Of course you can decorate the house differently.

Perhaps not the next download you were all expecting from me, but I updated my game yesterday and didn't have any of the cc I'm using for the save file in, but I still wanted to build... so ta-da! I figured a vanilla, basegame lot might be useful for everyone that's waiting on broken mods and cc or looking to test out the new pack in a vanilla save!

This build was inspired by @simmerrose-ccfinds who left a comment on my save file sneak peak a couple weeks ago asking about how many packs I used. And it got me thinking that most of my builds use all the packs and even a couple of kits. I find cc-free building limiting enough that not using the packs seemed crazy! But there's a bunch of great basegame builds out there and I thought I can do that too. They had mentioned they'd love to have one of those big rambling victorian houses, and I thought, why not do that?

This build is based off a real historic victorian floorplan I found when googling around and has everything your more well-to-do basegame sims might need. There's a parlor, formal dining room, sitting room, two bed chambers, a nursery, a painting studio, and even a bathroom with indoor plumbing! There's also everything the servant's of your more well-to-do sims will need including a spacious kitchen, butler's pantry, pantry, and cramped servant's quarters.

The build is furnished luxuriously and as of now is furnished for a family with at least five children, though feel free to move things around in the nursery. There is a crib for our newest most delightful life stage.

The build is fully playtested, make sure you moveobjects on when you place it. And feel free to do whatever you want with it, this is really meant to be a base for everyone that might have fewer packs, so make it your own! Though I do like to think my furnishing isn't too shabby.

The Costumes of Padmé Amidala

Water Gown: Revenge of the Sith

For Padmé's funeral, designer Trisha Biggar found inspiration in the waters of Naboo, recalling the lake district where Padmé and Anakin fell in love. Both the cloak and the thin underdress are done in blue-green hues, invoking the colors seen at the beautiful Naboo villa. The hand-painted, devoré velvet cloak has rows of sequins sown on to imitate the look of flowing water. The flowers in Padmé's hair were the idea of artist Ian McCaig (who created the concept art pieces seen above) and were meant to represent tears.

The water gown also draws a purposeful and striking parallel to Shakespeare's Ophelia, who is depicted similarly in paintings throughout history. Obi-Wan was led to believe that Padmé, like Ophelia, had simply lost the will to live.
