SJM seems like the kind of person (from her feysand obsession) to listen to her friend talking about being a SA victim, and then asks 'But was he hot?'.

Immediate follow up to my previous post but N/essian is the perfect example imo for why people hate the “fated mate” trope so much like SJM really took the beautiful concept of two people who are meant for each other, destined to find each other in every life, compliment and complete each other, and said “but what if he hated her?” and I will never forgive her for that 😤

Ya know, ultimately shipping wars in A/COTAR are really stupid and pointless. Because no matter if your ship becomes cannon or not, you lose (look at N/essian, a lot of people wanted it we got it, and the cannon version of it is terrible and ruined the ship). And no matter what passages you have backing your ship, S/JM won't care. She'll do what she wants because that's how she's always operated.
Like, you can have your favorite ships, you can be die hard about your ships. But being the way some of y'all are to each other isn't okay in the slightest.

Honestly didn't think I could hate something more than I hated the later seasons of OUAT, but then I reread some of SJMs books and I realised I was wrong.

okay but what is the new ac0trash series actually going to be about?? the main conflict was already stupidly resolved. usually prequels/sequels/midequels are all about in-universe characters and time periods that fans have been interested in for a long time. but the ac0tar world is all about f/eysand and the ships within their idiotic court. why would sj/m choose to write about n/essian or el/riel when the human-fae war is right there? l/ucien’s past is right there. m/or escaping her hideous family is right there.

N/essian is an objectively bad ship not just because Nesta (just like feyrug and rice) is a literal infant compared to cassiass but also because your precious batboy constantly harasses her, refuses to give her the space she wants, stalks her home, gets super possessive, gets offended because she refuses to accept a fucking gift and pokes his nose into her sex life and basically allows feyrug and riceman to ship nesta off to a literal war camp so if you want to ship that even after everything you do you I guess but stop pretending n/essian is a good ship. It fucking sucks, actually.

The lack of new Elucien art really hurts. Elucien has existed longer than Gwynriel, and it's healthier than Feysand and nessian and Elriel, and yet there's almost no new art, unlike all those other ships who ALWAYS have new art come out EVERY DAY.

Cap’s 2020 Daily Writing Challenge: Day Forty Three
A sort of ending to the Hope’s journey I’ve written about twice before. Short, but I’m happy with it! I might do more about this, though.
Day Forty Three - The End of a Long Journey
Bi could not truly recall just how long it had been since bi had left the quaint, little village that had been bis home for as long as bi could remember. It had certainly been over a month since Hope had been forced to leave on bis mission, but after so many days with nothing but the stars and the sun to mark the passing of time, bi had lost track inevitably and now all bi knew was that… well, bi was incredibly homesick by now and ready to just go home to the place that bi belonged.
It had finally come to that time, much to bis great relief and anticipation. Bi had sent a letter several weeks before on bis return, a letter addressed to Hope’s greatest friend: Bumble. By this point, the messenger bird had most likely reached the village and bi hoped that Bumble was waiting for bio to return. Hope could just imagine the other essian waiting day after day on their favorite hill, just watching the dusty, old path for bis return.
As bi passed through the last few feet of the large, dark forest, the trees petering out messily before it gave way to the brighter, sun-drenched landscape, Hope felt a grin stretching on bis face. Ah, there it was, the land bi knew so well and loved: a broad stretch of gently rolling hills on which waves of golden grass danced in the breeze that brushed past. Bi could not yet see the village, but bi could see that hill, and there was a small shape standing atop it…
Though Hope could not truly depict who it was that stood on the hill, bi knew instinctively who it was and bi, despite the exhaustion that pulled at bio from the long journey, began to run down the path, waving an arm high above bis head. “Bumble!” bi called. “Bumble, it’s me!” Bis voice rang down the path and Hope watched the figure jump and then start running down the path towards bio.
“HOPE!” called the other essian loudly, pure elation in their voice as they ran. They met on the path, each practically throwing themselves into the other’s arm, which resulted in them both tumbling to the ground. They laughed and Bumble smiled happily at their best friend. “I missed you so much, Hope! I’m so glad you’re back!” Hope felt tears welling in bis eyes and bi clung to bis best friend tightly. “I-I’m… I’m so glad to be home,” bi whispered, bis arms wrapping even more tightly around bis friend. The journey had been so, so difficult on bio, but being here… it made everything worth it. “I don’t wanna leave again, n-not at all…” With a gentle paw, Bumble very slowly rubbed bis back to try and soothe the other being. “Shh, it’s okay, Hope… You don’t have to,” they whispered as they gently helped Hope rise back to bis feet. “Let’s go home, okay?”
“Yeah…  Home…” Even though Hope still had tears trickling down bis face, bi smiled. Bi was going home and everything was going to be okay.

ok so like. I've been scrolling through your tumblr and I am glad to know there are many others who are angered with s/jm in general, but what is your thought on how she randomly made morrigan a lesbian? Like honestly it's so obvious to me that she threw in that representation because everyone was getting on her ass about it. She was likely going to solve the love triangle by doing morrigan/az/riel and n/essian but changed it last minute to appease lgbt criticisms
it was a complete and utter retcon, and the backstory for Mor is just yet another to add to the list of tragic gays who are supposedly representation. so yeah, you’re absolutely right: she threw it in bc blooms suddenly decided to tell her to include more rep, and the fact it’s stapled together so badly just goes to show that sj/m didn’t want to write about Mor anymore, now that she wouldn’t want to bone a guy. it’s the same with Lucien. as soon as he was retconned into being a MOC he was written out of the story in ac0war for a good chunk of the book (and the book is hella long, so it goes to show how little sj/m cares for Lucien now that he’s not white). i think it’s one of the main reasons she’s dangling Elain in front of assriel as almost a distraction, since assriel has been creeping on Mor for centuries and he just can’t take the goddamn hint to leave her alone.
(he’s also the reason Mor is afraid to come out of the closet, and with good reason. riceman would probably use it against her, just the way he did with her abusers, and she only tells faerug bc faerug keeps pestering her about assriel and how he’s “such a nice guy”.)

Look, you gotta understand that I actually want to ship N/essian. It would make my life so much more fulfilling because I would probably be satisfied with the ending of acosf.
However, I just can’t bring myself to. In my opinion, this ship was kinda okay at the beginning but is now just outright toxic. I don’t know why, but I get this vibe that it’s more about shoving Nesta into the ic and not about her actual character.
Maybe it’s just because I have this picture of Nesta in my head, which is obviously the right one as I would like to add, but it just does not sit right with me that Nesta was the one to apologise for every little thing and even for situations SHE should have received an apology.
But maybe I‘m just biased. But I think that Cassian will never really be... on the same... level? as Nesta. He‘s always the one to receive orders, he‘s at the bottom in the ic hierarchy and all, and Nesta is the one who is so queenly.
I just feel like they could never have a relationship where they’re in the same positions of power. Therefore it’s either going to be a situation where Cassian drags Nesta down to him, or Nesta drags Cassian up to her, which wouldn’t be healthy for either of them.
Idk, this was just my perception. But I know a lot of people love this ship, and I don’t mean any hate against n/essian shippers.

I love Elain & Nesta so much and I relate to them more than faerug which is funny because that’s definitely not what sjmess wants
anyway
Despite them killing the fucking king of hybern (which everyone including this fucking fandom seems to forget about) Elain & Nesta don’t get the respect they deserve
RESPECT I said...the inner circlejerk doesn’t have to love & worship Elain & Nesta but they sure as fuck have to respect them for that alone
Especially Riceman..he can respect Nesta by leaving her the fuck alone
I sympathize with Elain & Nesta because it’s not easy to be thrown into that whole mess and get out of it unscathed like they’re bound to have mental health issues + they’re fae now..and we’re talking about eternity here like do you know how scary that is? i mean ofc since the books are from faerug’s POV it doesn’t seem scary because why would it be? she’s already found her mate and she’s surrounded by people who love her and will literally die for her
but that’s not the case for Elain & Nesta and that’s why it’s so scary.. they’re going to have to find their place in this world ON TOP of dealing with their personal issues like Elain with her immortality & powers and Nesta with her PTSD
which is why i’m so scared of reading the next books because what if sjmess sweeps all of that under the rug? what if instead of focusing on Nesta’s development she focuses on developing N/essian? what if the next book isn’t really about Nesta’s journey to self love but about her realizing ~how much of a bitch she is and how she needs to kiss fey/sand’s asses~ ????? what if the next book isn’t about Elain accepting herself and dealing with her powers? what if it’s going to be about a tired ass love triangle with lucien and az
this is the problem with sjmess and her books .. SO MUCH WASTED POTENTIAL
