Gran Mare
Many millennia ago, humans worshiped a goddess they called "Gran Mare" or "Mother Sea", a benevolent entity who had taught humans how to sail the seas of Teyvat and encourage them to venture to continents never seen before.
She was the one who maintained order and balance in the seas of Liyue and Inazuma.
Her good relationship with humans and her desire to have a better relationship with the surface world were viewed with envy and displeasure by the other sea deities.
And that is why one day they betrayed her, plotting to try to eliminate her and take her power to keep it for themselves.
But that was their biggest and last mistake. Because they only caused the beast that slept in her finally to wake up.
The seas of Teyvat were bathed in the blood of those deities.
And among the few that fled, was a hydra that cowardly escaped. That hydra was once Gran Mare's brother-in-arms and the first to betray her.
It didn't matter if he tried to regenerate, because now his neck on the line and she would make him pay for what he did.
Eye for an eye.
Life for a life.

It’s wild when an account with a bigger following than I reblogs one of my posts with a comment because now I’m watching the replies/reblogs/tags on my “Childe can turn into water and fly” post like it’s some play unfolding, like a bunch of characters get into a scene and start discussing the validity of some legend.
-
“I always assumed that's what he does when overdosed on whatever divine authority of permission provide.”
“#as in he can't do that normally #only when hooked to a battery #it would be insane otherwise #a guy who can just turn into water droplets and fly away #although maybe he is just *that* insanely powerful and downplays it”
-
“I thought it was probably just a regular power of his, but figured Childe probably just doesn't use it much since it's an ability that seems mostly exist to help with retreating.”
-
“It would help sooo much with badass entrances too.”
“#and messing with people #imagine taunting someone just flying around them as a ball of water”
-
“#its what he does when he's bored #just screweing with people #many treasure hoarders in liyue thought there was a water demon that was haunting them #its was him. childe #you thought it was an evil demon but it was me! childe!”
-
“#childe's mona phase”
-
Maybe this could be a legend… Some Liyue Treasure Hoarders spreading a legend of a water demon that haunts the sunny plains of Liyue, and it eventually gets so twisted that he’s thought to be an Adeptus until—
“No wait, I’ve heard that the demon appeared at the harbour around the same time that Osial was released a few years ago.”
“……..He must be Osial’s child.”
“Apparently a ginger appeared after a sighting and he seemed human. But Adepti can often can take on a human form, right?”
“…”
“Maybe an Adeptus and Osial had-”

◇ characters ◇ zhongli
◇ tags ◇ death, depersonalization/derealization disorder, misunderstandings galore, but also teeth-rotting fluff, crack at the end
𝑚𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡 ⬙ 𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡
Tumblr media
you don't even remember when you first met zhongli. he's in every single one of your birthday photos starting with your first.
he's just. always been there????
he's only a year older than you, but acts like he's much older sometimes.
being classmates, he's very close with your older sister guizhong. the three of you always hang out together, and sometimes zhongli's big brother osial even joins in.
naturally you go to the same school too.
and well, like almost all the girls in the school, you might have developed a tiny teeny crush on zhongli. i mean, how could you not? zhongli is so nice compared to the other boys. he doesn't pull your hair to get your attention, he shares candies with you, and he has the cutest smile!
you tell this to guizhong shyly and she laughs, but she gives you a knowing look and tells you to 'go for it' with a wink, whatever that means.
and then, one particular day while you're hanging out without her or osial around, zhongli pulls you closer and tells you that he has a secret to share with you.
oh??? could it be???
your little heart beats frantically in your chest. it feels like a balloon is slowly inflating inside you as the longer zhongli's silence stretches. that same adorable grin stretches his lips, chubby cheeks dusted in pink as he says:
"i think i want to marry guizhong one day."
.....
congrats, your heart just got broken to pieces at the tender age of eight :)
out of pettiness and misplaced anger, you cross your arms and huff.
"you can't!"
"wha- why?!"
"c-cause... cause!! i'm gonna marry osial!!!"
............
it makes sense to your eight years old brain, okay??? if you marry osial, zhongli can't possibly marry your sister, right?????
as always, you confide to guizhong - because you share everything with your sister and you desperately need someone to vent to - and she's literally rolling on the floor howling with laughter about this whole mess.
great, your sister finds the tragic situation funny.
naturally, things get a little.... awkward, between you and zhongli. you both kind of drift apart and you no longer hang out together every weekend.
so instead, you hang out with osial.
you're not sure what makes him want to hang out with you. you suspect zhongli told him about your "crush". which makes you a little mad, even though you basically did the same thing, ratting his crush to guizhong.
but anyway. you find that osial is a good company, even though he's more rambunctious than his younger brother. he's a different kind of fun, at least.
and then....
when you start high school, guizhong gets into an accident.
it's much too sudden. you waved her goodbye in the morning as she dropped you to your class... and then suddenly you're in the hospital later in the day, watching silently as your parents sob over her unmoving form on the hospital bed.
.....
strange.
your chest feels empty.
like someone just scooped a whole section of it off you and dumped it somewhere else.
....
.......
..........
since then, it's like you're watching a movie.
a really dull, boring one.
wake up. brush your teeth. chew on cardboard-like stuff. school. extracurricular. shower. more tasteless chewing. homework. study. sleep. rinse and repeat.
osial comes over every now and then. and he tries to bring you out, make you laugh like you used to, tease you to get a reaction out of you - something, anything...
.... but the most you give him is an empty stare and a smile that doesn't reach your eyes.
it isn't until when zhongli confronts you at school one day, that you finally break.
you don't know why. you haven't seen him or talked to him properly in months, maybe years, even.
you remember osial telling you that zhongli was in a similar state when he found out about guizhong.
...... oh, right. he must have loved her all these times.
you don't really remember what transpired, but you remember seeing tears running down zhongli's cheeks, and that triggered your own tears, and that led to these two high-schoolers holding onto each other, crying and sobbing into each other's shoulders.
by the time your eyes hurt, you feel... present. like you're finally seeing things from your own eyes. you're highly aware of zhongli's warm arms around you, the way his wet lashes droop, the smell of osmanthus flowers enveloping your senses-
oh.
oh no.
not again.
"do you still love her?"
gods, you really want to hit yourself right now.
he regards you in confusion. after that crying session, that's what you're asking him first?
"of course, she will always be a dear friend to me."
"not like that-" you sigh and decide to drop the subject, "... nevermind."
"..... ah, are you referring to that confession from years ago?" zhongli chuckles as if he's remembering a fond memory, "perhaps i was, back then. but a lot of things have changed since then, so i can confidently say that the statement is now invalid."
you stay silent, and he watches you for a while before saying in a softer tone that sounds.... sad?
"don't worry, i know you still love osial."
............ h a h ?
"y-y-you remember that?"
"of course. and you've been hanging out with him constantly even until now, so it is quite obvious, i'd say. i... thought you were dating, at first, which is why i kept my distance... until that mindless brute hit me, saying i was being delusional and a very bad friend for not being there when you needed it most... i tried telling him that you really liked him, however-"
"zhongli, no, i said that because i was- i dunno- i was a kid and you were my first love and you just had to go and say you wanted to marry my sister- it was out of spite, okay?!"
dead.
silence.
"..."
"..."
"....... i was your first love? 'was'...?"
there's a hopeful look in his amber eyes, and you avert your eyes instinctively. but zhongli steps into your field of vision again stubbornly, eyes narrowed in determination as he slowly takes your hand into his.
"i... this might sound inappropriate given our current situation, and what has just transpired, but... [name], i adore you."
you blink and experimentally pinches your hand. pain has never felt so welcome in your brain.
"like- as a- friend?" you stammer, the familiar hope blossoming in your chest, but you're oh so scared.
scared of being disappointed again, of having your heart broken, again-
"my apologies, let me rephrase that. i bear romantic attractions to you."
the balloon pops. tears prick the corner of your eyes once more.
you think you can hear guizhong giggling and patting your back.
"will you... allow me another chance? to make you fall in love with me once more?"
yes, yes yes, a thousand times yes, you want to scream.
but... you've always been a little petty, haven't you?
".... fine," you keep your voice as haughty and aloof as possible, but your smile betrays your attempt at posing an indifferent attitude, "but it won't be easy."
zhongli smiles.
"a battle hard-won is a battle worth remembering. you won't regret this, [name]."
fast forward to twenty years later as you visit guizhong's grave with your children - and yes, you can certainly say you didn't regret giving your now-husband a second chance.
"do you remember the days when we were so young and foolish? sometimes i wish i could rewind time and fix all the mistakes i made... but i fear the butterfly effect will take you away from my arms, so i think i should just savor this moment instead." "husband, i love you and all but can we please go to sleep it's 4am."
Tumblr media
extra 1:
"dear, you are sure you don't want to marry my brother anymore, right?"
"ZHONGLI. THAT WAS LIKE. I DUNNO. FIFTY YEARS AGO?? ALSO WE'RE LITERALLY MARRIED??? JUST COME HELP ME CHANGE OUR BABY'S DIAPER????"
"i'm just making sure..."
extra 2:
"i bet my dearest sister is laughing at us right now."
"i believe you would be correct, my love."

Then Came The Dawn Pt 1
Tumblr media
For a brief moment the chill of the water felt pleasant, salve against the heat of your wounds. It took not even a full second for the pain to come as your body registered the saltiness of the water that was against your injuries. It burned, burned at your very soul.
The surface began to slip further and further away, as your body instinctively struggled against the ropes binding you, desperate to survive. Yet despite the panic of your movements, your thoughts were drastically different.
It was… quiet.
You no longer had the strength to fight anymore. You were ready for your death at this point. You welcomed it. After so long running and struggling to make it just one more day, you were at the end of it all.
It was peaceful.
It was liberating.
‘Perhaps when I close my eyes, I’ll be home again.’
Your lungs screamed for air, your limbs felt like they weighed as heavy as stone. The edges of your vision began to darken as you sank deeper and deeper, the sunlight of the surface looking so close, yet being so out of reach. The black overtook your view, but not before a faint blue glow lit your fading view.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘Do not fear Your Grace. I am here.’
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You awoke with a gasp, eyes snapping open and trying to gulp down precious oxygen as if it were going to disappear. Coughs wracked your body as seawater was forced from your lungs, the salt burning and searing as you sputtered. Finally you manage to breathe, the sweet sweet oxygen you’d been so desperate for cooling the salt induced burning of your throat.
‘That’s it, I’m never taking air for granted again. Thank you plants for your dutiful provisions of oxygen.’
Finally you managed to slow your racing heart, opting to take in your surroundings. You were in a bedroom, having been placed on the room’s well, bed. You internally cringe as you realize that you’ve gotten the furniture wet with all of you whole ‘trying to not drown’ stuff. Honestly after months on the run, being in a building was already strange, but being on a bed? That was a luxury you’d long since gotten used to not having. There tends to be a lack of furniture out in the wilderness. You continue to observe your surroundings. The room was a deep navy blue in color, sapphires adorning a silver chandelier that lent the room a soft light. All in all, it was exsquisite, and far too refined to line up with anything remotely akin to your recent standards. You noticed a window and stumbled your way towards it, glad to no longer be bound, even if you’d developed a bad case of rope burn. Your eyes widened in shock at the sight of the outside.
Water.
No, not just water, the ocean. The ocean floor.
You were under the sea.
There was a wall of water a few yards from the window, as if the building you currently were in was shielded from the ocean encroaching any further by an invisible dome. One thing was abundantly clear, whatever had happened after you had lost consciousness, something had saved you, and brought you to this place. Yet who? You would have seen if someone had dived into the water after you, and there had been no one other than you. As you watched a small crab experimentally touch the wall of water before darting through it into the sea, you pondered what could have occurred.
“I am relived to see you awake Your Grace.”
You whirled around, eyes wide and muscles tensed, having learned from the months you’d been hunted to except to be slain at any moment. The figure was unfamiliar, something that stunned you, but their gentle smile was conforming, and you found the tension in your body lessening.
“You need not fear me. I would never wish to harm you, my Guide.”
The stranger was a male, and a tall one at that, with long blue hair that cascaded behind him like a waterfall. A blue teardrop shaped gem was below his neck, which combined with the sight of several small horns that were atop his head, made it clear that whoever he was, he was not a human. It would have been funny if you weren’t so jaded nowadays, that you feared this man less than you would fear a normal human being. Your eyes dart around awkwardly, as you began to realize you’d no idea how to truly hold a conversation anymore. Sure communication had never been a priority to you, but that skill set had quickly been cast aside in favor of survival skills once people made it clear they wanted you dead. You cough a bit awkwardly, unsure how to answer, but the man seems to understand your unspoken distress. His voice was deep, yet it was filled with a gentleness that made it far from intimidating.
“Please, do not feel pressured to converse if you are not comfortable with doing so. You have been through a lot as of late after all. All I ask is that you inform me if you need anything. Your recovery is my top priority Your Grace.”
There was that title again. ‘Your Grace’. You recall several people having called that thing wearing your face by that title, but you? That was new.
“Why are you calling me that? I’m not anyone special or anything. I’m just a normal person! I still don’t even know what’s going on! I never asked for anything from anyone! This was all just a huge mistake!”
The emotions you had blocked off for so long began to bleed into your voice, tears gathering in your eyes as your mind conjured vivid memories of the pain and suffering that you had been put through since your arrival. You hiccuped as you tried to hold back your cries, though you knew well it was a losing battle. You slid down to the floor, muffled sobs wracking your battered form.
A warm embrace picked you up and carried you to the bed, the touch holding a softness that you had been denied for many long months. Instinctively you clung to the man, desperate for some sort of comfort, some sort of reassurance. He gave it to you silently, uncaring of the fact that your tears stained his clothes. When your sobs slowly taper off, he speaks once again, though this time you can hear the emotion in his words clear as day.
“You are correct. This was indeed a mistake. However, it is not a mistake that you have made. This lies on the shoulders of those who refused to accept what stood before them, and whom brandished their weapons against you by order of a mimicry of your visage. The fault lies on them, and them alone, for you have shown them only mercy; mercy that they refused.”
You began to tear up again, unable to properly process the fact that you were being treated with kindness after so long of being despised. You knew you should be cautious of this man, of this stranger; but you couldn’t help but take solace in his reassurances.
“All of Teyvat cries out for you dearest Guide. It reaches out to you, bleeds for you, and yearns to see you safe. Though many of Teyvat’s people have forgotten your presence, have foolishly followed the cruel rule of a tyrant; Teyvat has not. It has not forgotten you. You are unmistakable. The leylines of this world run cold at your tears, and at your pain the very elements weep. You are what Teyvat exists for. It would not, it cannot, desert you.”
The man’s arms wrap around your trembling form with an unmistakable affection you’d been longing for without even realizing. A mix of emotions flowed over you at the sensation of being held so gently, happiness, comfort, longing, all mixed into one indecipherable jumbled mess.
“Teyvat would tear itself apart if you wished it, Your Grace, for it exists for you and you alone. You have been made to bear a burden never meant for you, and for that, Teyvat grieves. It has done all it can to protect you. And as one of the beings whom can still hear it’s pleas, it is my duty to protect you where it cannot.”
“I vow to you my Guide, I will serve you until my end. I pledge this to you with all that I am.”
“I, Osial, Overlord of the Vortex, am yours to command, oh beloved creator.”
AN: YEAH THATS RIGHT BABY ITS THE DANGER SNEK HIMSELF. BET YOU DIDNT SEE THAT COMIN! Okay but before you accuse me of simping over this snake, I’d like to clarify, I’ve been interested in the lore we get about Osial for a while now. And then when I stumbled onto @Ruu_GI’s human version of Osial, I was immediately inspired to write for him. Do I simp for him? No. I’m too busy being a Rubedo simp to simp for Osial. But do I want to write for him? yes.
Tumblr media
Anyways, here’s Ruu_GI’s Osial concept! I would link to their Twitter but it’s labeled 18+ and this is not an 18+ blog sooooo oof. If you’re of age then go check them out!

Love Through Pearls
The sea that parted Liyue and Inazuma used to be so lifeless before you resided in your dearest companion's domain. Your submerged hair floated and danced around the waters as creatures roamed around your form.
Showing love and and compassion to entities in the deep sea as Osial watches nearby, oh how he loved you so.
You had forgotten what it was like to breathe on the surface, to stand on the land of Rex Lapis, a traitor, a sinner. You've already forgotten of that large lizard... your attention was always directed at his rival.
When you rose to the shores of Liyue, Osial was with you. Sitting on the sandy beaches as Osial stayed in the water, half of his body of the surface, half in the water.
You stood up and got ready to leave the shore, "Hm? Where you going dear?" He asked, worried you might leave him, "I want to see if the witch hunt died down" you replied, Osial's eyes widened. He gripped your arm, "You can't! I don't want anything to happen to you, your grace!" Said osial as he panicked and tried to pull you back in the water, "Please..." you begged, and begged until he let go, "Come back to me, please?"
You didn't.
The only remnants he has of you is the golden blood that spilled from the surface.
How could you? No, how could they? They took away their own divinity, but they took his own love.

Can you imagine during archon war we were like the most scariest, powerful god in it?
The Harbinger of Death, goddess of lost war, brutalz bloody battles, plaques and hunger (anything to do with war basically that happens during and after that's not glorified) so the archon war is causing them to become even more powerful.
Being known as merciless God who kills anyone in their way causes weaker god's to be terrified but at the same, some brave souls seek protection. And surprisingly they get it, because reader is a softie.
Morax in turn is desperate for some allies. Due to him gaining the geo gnosis, he put a massive cross on his back. He has guizhong and osail, but it's not enough to protect his people.
So he comes up with a plan to court the worst possible option - the most powerful bloody god that celestia was considering to become the god of death (because with amount of death in the war, death domain needed someone to look over it)
It doesn't help that he had a massive crush after meeting us on the battlefield and seeing how we help our wounded soldiers and being good leader and deity.
So starts the awkward tries of more rough around the edges, young and hormonal Morax to court us, while ozial and guizhong are trying to change his mind.
slfkslfks holy shit i- never thought about this concept but hhhhhhh
help this turned into a fic before i realized-
ps. not proofread, this is literally word vomit and i haven't reread it yet cause my lunch break's over lsdjflskd
Tumblr media
⬙⤠ masterlist ⤝⬙
you're the god of war, known for your merciless nature and prowess in battle. you're offered the finest wine, battle armors of the fallen, the biggest livestock. each year a hunting competition is celebrated across your nation, with many people joining in to prove themselves to you, a chance for them to show their loyalty and perhaps be granted your blessings in return.
you feed from the hopelessness in your enemies' eyes, the tear of their battle wills, the blood spilled upon your people's weapons. you are the definition of fear and morbid, and your people hold an equal amount of respect and fear towards you. the gods fear you and scorn you but they're afraid to cross your path because they know you're perfectly capable to crush them under your feet if you so desire.
but what most fail to realize is that although you are the personification of ruin itself, you're secretly drawn to everything that's on the opposite spectrum of your nature, but you're so afraid to indulge yourself because what can your battle-scarred hands do besides destroying everything they touch? they don't realize that your fierceness stems from your wish to protect your people. they don't realize that you wish for a company, someone strong enough to stand by your side, someone who wouldn't crumble from your fierceness yet treasures your weaknesses, someone whom you can trust wholeheartedly without fearing that you might get stabbed on your back the moment you let your guard down. they don't realize that you despise having to enjoy the offerings alone....
enter rex lapis, god of contracts, whose prowess falls just a little short below you. but what rex lapis misses, he makes up with his wit and the companions who support him from behind the scenes. rex lapis, like the other gods, fear you and see you as a threat to their people, because in his eyes you're just this thirsty warmonger who thrives upon the deaths of the innocents.... or, well, that is, until he sees you personally mourning over the deaths of your people. immediately, he's intrigued. but he dares not to intrude on your moment of solitude, afraid that he would provoke you if you discover him seeing you in your most vulnerable state. the image stays at the back of his mind, and both guizhong and osial notice how he always fall silent whenever your name comes up.
it isn't until the archon war that he proposes an idea to make an alliance with you. obviously guizhong disagrees and starts listing off the cons of doing so, being his trusted strategist. osial thinks he's gone crazy, and he departs with a snarl and a disbelieving shake of head when the god of contracts tries to explain his reasons. guizhong tries to persuade him otherwise, because there are millions of ways that this could go wrong, and because she has tried to reach out to you in the past but was turned away. you clearly do not want to associate yourself with anyone in the first place. and rex lapis knows that his friend is, as always, correct - but his rational side wavers when he remembers the pained sobs that left your lips and the tears falling down your cheeks.
"nonetheless, we should still try. i have a hunch they will turn out to be different than the rumors."
guizhong starts re-explaining again from the top, and for once rex lapis does not listen.
the next time he dives into battle, the thought plagues his mind, alongside osial's betrayal. maybe that's why he was unable to realize that guizhong was in danger. why he was unable to react in time when his mind's eye connects the trajectory of the blade with the positions of his people. by the time he realizes what was going on, guizhong is already plummeting towards the ground, straight towards your troops' formation.
he's moving on pure instinct when he speeds over towards his friend, he knows it's utter foolishness to appear before the enemy's territory, especially in his frazzled state. he braces for enraged yells and blades sinking upon his skin, he prepares to retreat- and yet everything is silent with the exception of the sound of war in the background. he looks up and sees you, looking down at them with a stoic expression on your face, so different from his memory. the nefarious nicknames flash beyond his eyes, and he grips guizhong's body protectively, draconic eyes glaring up at you, a silent warning.
to his utter shock, your eyes soften. or perhaps it was just his imagination? because you've closed them before he could examine it further, and when you turn towards your generals, your voice is as authoritative and cold as ever, sending shivers down his spine.
but no, it must have not been a fever dream, because you're telling your troops to march forward and conduct themselves along with his troops. you tell them to protect his people and to fully assist his soldiers.
"why?" he asks, and his voice is soft and cracked against the deafening song of the battlegrounds, but still you turn towards him and watch as your gaze falls to the goddess of dust.
"she gave me a flower, once."
it's thousands of years later that rex lapis realizes, as he gazes upon you admiring the first glaze lily that your people managed to cultivate - perhaps it was that single sentence that finally broke the walls he's set around his heart. he casts a forlorn look towards the sea stretching beyond the harbor and the dust dancing in the air under the bright sun.
if only they could see him now. if only they could see you now.
"i told you they would be different from the rumors."
he winces when a speck of dust enters his eyes and chuckles when you start fussing over him, your touch gentle as you examine his teary eyes.
yes, very different indeed.

Then Came The Dawn Pt. 3
Tumblr media
Ever since the execution of the ‘imposter’ Ajax had not used his Vision. When he fought, he did so using only his Delusion. If asked why, he would have given a rather blunt answer. “If Celestia cannot be bother to intervene on behalf of the Creator; I want nothing to do with them or their gaze. I’ve no desire for a gift from gods who stand by while something so catastrophic occurrs. They can have their Vision back for all I care.”
The Fatui were a rather efficient force. However, there were some things that even they struggled to carry through. Which is why four whole weeks after Tartaglia sent out his subordinates to search Guyun Stone Forest; they finally had returned with news. The harbinger had wasted no time, setting out for the cluster of islets immediately.
Upon drawing near to them, the Sigil of Protection began to respond, a sort of invisible tugging urging him forward. He reached what seemed to be a plain and featureless wall of rock, but suddenly the talisman flew from his hand, floating in front of the wall, glowing brighter and brighter.
Childe’s eyes widened slightly as the wall seemed to melt into thin air, revealing a passageway behind it. Shaking off his surprise, he grabbed the now dull sigil and entered.
If his instincts were correct; Osial would know what happened to the so called “imposter”.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were a bit surprised at how much of a conversationalist the overlord was, but the surprise was soon to give way to appreciation. He was happy to talk about anything and everything with you, from the mundane affairs of your life before waking up in Teyvat, to your slime companions you’d made on the run. You miss them dearly. In return he told you of times before the archon war, lore you’d never heard before coming straight from something who witnessed it transpire.
While on your journey of trying not to get murdered, you’d grown to not talk very much. In fact, it was your capture that brought the first words out of you in months; resigned words of disappointment aimed at the characters you’d once loved. You hadn’t been merciful with them, each statement had been crafted to cut deeply; each one aimed directly at their most sensitive areas.
“Guizhong would be disappointed.”
“So much for your ‘new age’ Kequing.”
“And here you claim to be a pacifist. Lying doesn’t make you look good Ganyu.”
“Judging someone for their appearance is rather hypocritical of you Xinyan.”
“I see your concept of chivalry is as fake as your pen name Xingqiu.”
“All the mora in the world won’t make you a better person Ningguang.”
“Did the other Yaksha murder people too, or is that just your personal habit Alatus?”
“You should get those red strings looked at Shenhe: they don’t seem to be working.”
“Last time I checked, a person who truly pursued justice wouldn’t go along with a witch hunt Yanfei.”
All of Liyue had been there, and you’d made sure to hit each and every one of the vision holders with your blades of harsh words.
Your words had been cruel, and you knew it. Occasionally you regretted them, but then the memory of what you’d gone through, of what they put you through, would come to the front of your mind and the guilt would wither and die on the spot.
Regardless, it was rare for you to speak after what you went for, and you appreciated Osial filling the silence.
While on the run you had loved silence. Silence meant peace: silence meant a moment of respite.
Now though, now that you no longer had the shadow of death lingering over you at every moment, the silence gave your mind ample time to reflect on your woes.
But Osial seemed to understand, as he gladly kept you company, and his companionship kept the demons in your mind at bay. It was only in his presence that you felt safe enough that you could fall asleep, and he would remain with you while you rested, there for you should the trauma of the hunt torment you with nightmares. Osial was always nearby when you awoke.
Which is why your heart was currently pounding loudly. You’d woken up, but he wasn’t here with you. You begin to frantically search for the overlord, only to freeze when you hear Osial seemingly speaking to someone. You know you should confront the situation head on, but you couldn’t work up the courage to do it. Interacting with someone aside from Osial isn’t something you think your ready for yet, and so you opt to stay hidden in the shadows.
“I cannot tell if you are simply a fool, or overly courageous. Walking into a god’s domain never ends well for mortals, so let’s get to the point immediately here. Who are you, and why have you sought me out?”
“Their Grace, you saved them right? They’re okay, right?”
Osial’s voice turns guarded and tense at the others words.
“And if I did? What does it matter to one of the mortals who forsook them?”
The seabed trembles ever so slightly, and the overlords voice hardens. If you likened his usual tone to a gentle current; this would be a raging maelstrom in contrast.
“If you have come to harm them further, I recommend you turn around and leave before I strike you down personally.”
The reply you hear is a familiar voice, but it takes a moment for you to place it. You cautiously peek into the room where the two are speaking, and sure enough, it’s exactly who you’d thought.
“…A-Ajax…?”
Both the god and the harbinger freeze before turning to face you. Osial visibly calms down at the sight of you alive and well, while Childe on the other hand takes you by surprise. There’s practically tears of relief in his eyes, and before you can even truly process that information, he kneels in front of you.
“Your Grace I’m so relieved to see you are safe.”
“H-Huh?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The explanation that the ginger provided certainly helped you make sense of things, but that left you with a choice. A choice which in all honesty, you weren’t sure you’d be able to make. You had no shortage of options, but you didn’t know which was the truly “right” answer, and that’s assuming there was a right answer at all.
You could remain with Osial here in this small haven of peace you’d managed to find.
You and Osial could leave with the harbinger, and work with the Tsarita to overthrow both your mimic and Celestia, though a run-in with Morax would be certain; there’s no way he wouldn’t notice Osial being outside of the seal.
Or you could lash back at Liyue for the suffering it’s people caused you; paying back their cruelty with destruction.
While a small part of you wanted to pursue vengeance, to make them pay, you couldn’t find the resolve too. You were just so tired of the fighting. So tired of chaos. You just wanted to rest. There had already been enough bloodshed. You didn’t want any more.
The thought of staying here was a comforting one. Hiding away from the cruel world that had deserted you had been blissful so far, and you weren’t entirely sure you wanted to give it up.
But…
That thing…
It was still wearing your face, speaking with your voice, going by your name.
The fact alone made you feel nauseous. You weren’t like them, not an abusive tyrant like you’d seen them be; yet they sullied your name, your identity; with their acts.
No, you didn’t want vengeance on Liyue.
You wanted vengeance on the accused creature that had ordered your death, and it alone.
“……Alright. When should we leave then?”
“[Name] are you certain you wish to do this? Once we leave this place, you will be in danger again.”
“I know. But I can’t just let that thing hurt people, especially not while hiding behind my identity.”
“…If you are certain, then I will not oppose. I pledged my service to you, and whilst I may not be as strong as I once was, I will do everything in my power to keep you safe [Name].”

Favor
You had seeked solace from a being you never expected. Come forth, and raise the banner of peace and quell the rages of the people who had been misled by a false god.
If you did not already killed them
You had favored a being, a being you had forgotten. You regret the forgottence of that being, but now that being's face, body, personality, voice is embedded into your mind.
You had oh so favored Osial. He was a wiser figure than Morax. Being able to distinguish their creator from an Impostor was somewhat an accomplishment seeing how everybody fawns over a lookalike.
The cold ocean waters are empty, but now you are here. Osial is happy, your precense is warm. He enjoys your warmth. He smirks at the fact that Morax not getting the same treatment, afterall, why would he when he had committed a crime against their creator?
