“Kami Kami”

If Hiem was about death, this one is about fate. Its a continuation of “Hiem” and is based off a story about a fox spirit who falls in love with a boy. In order for them to be together, he chooses to goes through the cycle of reincarnation and become human. This illustration will be printed on a zip up hoodie and be sold on Paper Kumiho.

“Letter’s of a Kumiho”

This is an artwork that pays homage to a mask of an original character I created during my college years. That original character was based on me as well as my spiritual journey as a Shaman. The core design of the character was someone who had a familiar of a nine-tailed fox(my spirit guide) and had the power to manipulate paper. As time passed I began to grow more as a person, therefore so did my oc. His masks began to reflect myself as a person and his powers imitated the abilities I had spiritually. The idea of psychic manipulation of paper, instead became each piece of paper inhabits a soul or spirit that chooses to follow, protect, and guide him. With each spirit he gains a new letter is given to him. These letters include a message from the spirits to him. That is the creation and the reason why he is titled, “The Paper Kumiho.”⁣⁣
