hi can you give some levihan headcanons as a couple , maybe in modern au
Thank you so much for the request! This is my first headcanon request so I tried to make it as perfect as possible! Also, bear with me because I got overexcited with the ask, and instead of the point form HC formulation I should've followed, I may or may not have thought up their whole freaking backstory... and their follow up story... Oops. I won't post it here today, but I do think I will make it a separate post some other day if anyone is interested enough. Either way, thank you so much and I hope you enjoy!

I like to think that even in modern AU, Hange would still have her cheery personality, but instead of obsessing over Titans, she'd be more interested in microbes (I know, transition between giants to microorganisms, LOL). She'd still be interested in saving humanity, but more in the bacterial and medical kind of field instead.
Levi on the other hand, no longer having to be a soldier, he'd happily run the tea shop he'd always wanted right next to his best friends Isabel and Furlan.
The two met on a subway ten years ago on Levi's first day of work in the city. Where an unfortunate mix up of personal belongings caused by clashing into each other got them acquainted and familiar with each other. Despite the unfortunate meeting and the roller coaster of events that unfolded from their collision, it eventually became a pleasant story to tell their friends or at parties when asked how they met.
They were complete opposites of each other. Hange loved the outdoors while Levi preferred staying at home. She was loud and upbeat while he preferred silence and tranquility. Hanger had a habit of being free willed and letting her spontaneity take her, while Levi liked to have everything planned and set before getting into anything
And it wasn't just their preferences that differed, it was every aspect of themselves. Their life choices and ways of thinking were drastically opposing. Even the way they disagreed on what they wanted to eat for dinner caused heated discussion when brought up, as Hange would pick sweets for dinner instead of something sustainable like Levi wanted.
They were complete and utterly the opposite of each other. And while everything pointed to them not working out and onlookers put their money on their relationship ending in a messy breakup, they proved everyone wrong every time with how much their bond only grew stronger overtime. And how their loving partnership became more and more obvious the more time spent around them, erasing any doubts they had about the couple.
Yes, they fought occasionally, and they drove each other absolutely insane. But their differences also brought them out of each other's shells, together experiencing new things they would've never seen without the other otherwise. They saw the world in a different light through each other's eyes, and came to love the new combined word they created together. Because with being opposites of each other, it also meant they filled each other's holes and missing pieces. Almost like creating a stained glass window meant to be clear with splashes of purples and greens instead. Creating an accidental masterpiece that came to be adored by those lucky enough to bask under the kaleidoscope of colours in their inner chapel. Bathing those closest to them with the deep love they had for each other.
Throughout the years of getting to know each other, they found a way to put their differences away, and somehow managed to build up their relationship status to best friends. So much so that Isabel and Furlan, Levi's childhood friends complained about being replaced so quickly. Although, in all considerations, it felt to Levi like he was the one being replaced by Hange instead with the way his friends loved her. Hell, even his mother and uncle seemed to love her more than him.
"Welcome home, runt. Where's Hange? I wanted to discuss about the new wine she mentioned to me last time." His uncle would say when he'd visit.
"Oh Hange! I've made your favourite pudding!" His mother would greet, throwing herself at his girlfriend before she caught sight of her own son staring at them with a roll of his eyes. "Oh, Levi! Nice to see you too of course."
Contrary to his grumbles and complains about Hange being overburdened by his family every time she visited, he couldn't help but feel his heart beat happily at knowing the love of his life was accepted by his family, and that they loved her as much as he did himself. Having the two most important parts of his life get along was all he cared about.
Despite having known each other for ten years, having met when Levi was 26 and Hange 24, they didn't start dating until... well that was a mystery of its own as they themselves didn't really know when they started dating. Not fully at least.
Somewhere along the years of their friendship the lines blurred, and they somehow ended up with the shocking, yet not surprising realization that they were and had been dating each other for a while. But the way they realized it and came to terms with it wasn't an easy one. When Levi finally came to terms that he harboured feelings for his best friend, he initially thought that Hange had feelings for someone else. And he could only put up with the unbearable pain he went through when he overheard Moblit mention to Nifa that Hange couldn't meet with them for a work dinner because she had a date already.
So one can only imagine his surprise when Hange showed up with a smile at his shop door on Saturday, greeting him and his workers as happily as ever. Even throwing herself at him for a hug like she always did whenever she visited. A hug that would be considered too personal and close for two individuals that were only considered friends. But not once during her whole afternoon spent there did she mention anything about meeting up with anyone else, but the suspense was absolutely killing Levi by the point the clock struck half an hour to dinner time.
But Hange continued being her usual self. Greeting new and old clients alike as if she'd been friends with them for ages. Making a complete mess of his usual clean counters only to be scolded off by Levi to go to the corner and read instead, and even teasing him about random things like she always did. All the while being completely unaware of the turmoil and the pain Levi felt at thinking about how he would have to hide his feelings and having to pretend to be happy for Hange being with someone that wasn't him the rest of their live. It was becoming an unbearable and depressing Saturday to say the least. His mood only soured more as Hange still acted all upbeat and nonchalant as ever. Not once having brought up her dating life to him, despite being her so called bestie. And it brought about this ugly feeling of disbelief and jealousy out of him that he'd never experienced before.
As nighttime fell over the streets, Levi finally broke his silence and lashed out at her bitterly, asking why she was hanging out with him when she already had plans with someone else.
And out of all ways she could've reacted to his interrogation, being laughed at was something he didn't expect.
"But Levi, YOU are my date." She finally gasped, having finally gained the capacity to breathe again after having laughed at his question.
"Huh? How am I your date, fucking Four- Eyes. We never made plans for anything. Besides, I overheard your coworkers talk about you meeting someone instead of eating with them... How can I be considered your date?"
Hange tilted her head, amusement flowing in her brown eyes as she caught the usual poised and self-assured raven-haired individual lose his composure. "Huh... But I thought we've been dating for while now, Shorty. I've even been referring to you as my boyfriend to my friends and coworkers for the last few months."
Turns out, her date was none other than Levi. And her idea of a date was hanging out with him at his tea shop on the weekend like she's been doing the last five years. And Levi, as clueless to feelings as ever, never put two and two together.
The whirring of machine cogs and espresso machines filled the silence between them as Levi processed whatever Hange had just said.
"The fuck?! You can't simply just call me your boyfriend when I haven't even been aware of us dating this whole time!" He finally retaliated, throwing the rag in his hands onto the tabletop.
Hange giggled, noticing the reds on his cheeks. It wasn't a no, she could read from his eyes. "I like you too, Shorty. So? Are we officially dating now?"
"You better make up for the last few months I've been out of loop of my own relationship."

They ended up adopting a black goldfish adorably named One-Eyed Moody after the professor of the dark arts from the Harry Potter series for the fact it was both very moody and in fact, one eyed. Levi had reluctantly agreed to let Hange get a pet for their apartment once they had moved in together after a year of dating. He expected her to get a cat, a big dog, or a lizard for all he knew. Although he made it very clear the last one were on the black list.
Instead, Hange had found One-Eyed Moody on a cart ready to be discarded off at the pet shop. Having instantly connected with it, she begged Levi to get it. And with a heavy sigh, he couldn't say no. Mind you, it was pretty much dead at that point, but through endless observation and whatever mutated food concoction Hange whipped up, it came back to life in a matter of weeks. And in turn, Levi had somewhat grown attached to it. Hange liked to joke that it was their baby and it resembled them both in some ways.
Their days spent together were a blend of their interests mixed into one. When Hange wanted to settle down and read, Levi would do skin care for both of them to make use of their time. All the while Hange reading aloud the words from her book so Levi could listen as well. When Levi wanted to clean the house, Hange knew better than to lend a hand as he was peculiar in his ways. So instead she'd make some tea for both of them and cook dinner for a famished Levi by the end of his cleaning session. On days Hange felt like watching a documentary on bugs or microbes, Levi would lay his head on her lap as she brushed her fingers through his locks. The soothing motion letting him get some shut eye he usually never got due to his insomnia.
Hange had a habit of working overtime, and sometimes even staying overnight at her lab. On days like these Levi would pack up some sweets from his shop and some warm tea and bring them to her office as he kept her company. On the off days Hange had a day off, she'd use it to help around in Levi's shop. Chatting up customers and bringing a bright feeling to the atmosphere. Levi absolutely adored watching her laugh and interact with regulars from behind the counter. Although he'd never voice these thoughts aloud. But it wasn't needed, as his employees, Jean, Sasha, and Connie all make kissy faces to each other whenever they caught Levi glancing a little too long at his partner.
Levi didn't like to admit it, but most of his photos on his phone were of candid pictures of Hange. But not the flattering ones most boyfriends take of their girlfriends that are Instagram worthy. No, most of them were completely unflattering. Many consisting of Hange snoring with her mouth wide open, of her laying in a pile of dirt after having chased a squirrel. Of Hange throwing a middle finger to the camera after being caught without caffeine early in the morning, or even of her snorting in laughter after something funny Erwin had told them during one of their get togethers.
He was absolutely infatuated with her. With her quirks and her being. He was in love with Hange Zoe.
And similarly, Hange kept a record of all the plants and bouquets Levi gave her over the years. A collection of pressed flowers and dried leaves from every flora and fauna he'd ever gifted her. Because as much as she loved flowers, she loved more the effort gone into picking a different flower each time they had a celebration. Because as Levi had once told her, she was so unique that not one flower could ever describe her, and that he could never tie her down to one specific plant.
Normal dates like going to the mall or watching movies before dinner on a weekend weren't their thing. Instead, beach dates in mid freezing February nights, stargazing spontaneously on a random Wednesday night, running around the fields of the neighbourhood Hange grew in during summer afternoons, hiding from thugs after trespassing someone's property to take a look at the size of a wasp's nest, ending with the nest falling to the ground and its inhabitants swarming around the local outlaws on a spring morning... All were chaotic memories that belonged only to them. Those were the kind of dates they had.
They never had to verbally express their admiration or love for each other openly. Or make it everyone's business to know that they were together because they had upmost trust in their partnership and relationship without having to project it to the world in a fright of being misunderstood. Both knowing perfectly well how much they cared and loved each other in the small gestures they shared: The little brush of fingertips as they greeted each other goodbye before work. In the way they worked in sync when working together on a project for their new home. Of how they made love to each other in the warm embrace of each other, blinds closed and moans silenced between their interexchange of kisses. Making their love known only between themselves. It never became a pressing matter having everyone else know their business or feeling the need to explain their relationship to others. In the end, their actions spoke louder than words, and everyone could tell that they had the upmost trust in their relationship.
But in the calmness and safety of their bubble, eventually doubt would emerge, and leak a hole in their safe haven, no matter how much effort they put into keeping it afloat.
Hange absolutely loved and had a strange fascination for energy drinks infused in coffee, the ones that had 10 times the amount than should be allowed by any manufacturers or allowed to pass inspections. So much so that she'd stop by the convenience store on the corner of their apartment every time she came back from work. Bringing with her at least 10 cans with her.
Levi, despite his eye rolls and grumbles about over caffeination and annoyance at having a bunch of empty cans to constantly recycle, still got them for her whenever he passed by on his way from the tea store nonetheless. Loving and having a soft spot for the way Hange's eyes lit up and the way she threw herself at him every time he brought it for her.
Due to their different time schedules they never got to meet up to shop together, but nonetheless they each become regulars in the little shop for the drinks Hange so badly craved.
It was one day that Hange came back, a look of complete defeat on her face as she slummed against the door that Levi understood something was wrong. That, and the fact her hands were empty of her usual drinks.
"Finally figured out you were consuming poison?" Levi questioned as he started unclasping her shoes, carefully placing them on the shoe rack.
Shaking her head sadly, Hange sighed. "No... they hiked up the prices again. I know we're tight on money so I can't go buying five dollar coffee from the convenience store anymore... I guess I'll just have to settle for the stale decaf coffee they have at the office."
"Tch... don't exaggerate, Four-Eyes. The drinks were never more than two bucks." Levi muttered, taking her jacket off and placing it on the hanger.
Hange's brows furrowed. "Two bucks? When have they ever been that cheap? I've always been paying four fifty."
"Huh? What fucking store have you been to? It's been two fifty since we've moved here." Levi grumbled, flicking his finger over her forehead.
The topic brought on an argument that lasted the whole night over who was right and wrong. And it only settled when they both agreed to go to the store the following day together. Luckily it was a national holiday and neither had to go to work.
The following day, in typical Hange fashion, she'd forgotten to feed One-Eyed Moody. Refusing to leave the house without feeding him first, she told Levi to go on first, and that she'd meet him in the store.
But what she found as she entered the familiar shop was something she'd never expected. The usually bored clerk was suddenly chirpy and chatting up no other than her boyfriend. Levi on the other hand, seemed quite discontented from the conversation, but kept adding a word or two in politeness.
Suddenly catching his girlfriend's gaze, Levi started raising his hand to signal her over, when Hange crossed her hands in front of her, shaking her head vigorously as she unlinked and relinked her arms in the cross motion, signaling behind the cashier's back for Levi to not blow her cover.
Confused at her sudden antics, he furrowed his brows, but did as instructed, following Hange's pointed look to the cooler housing her favourite drinks before she mouthed "cashier, go pay for them!".
It was only after he exited the store ten whole minutes later, an annoyed look on his face that Hange finally pounced on him.
"So?"
"So what? You left me to listen to that girl talk about bad dates alone for ten minutes. Here's your stupid drinks." Levi grumbled, throwing the plastic bag into her arms.
Shaking her head, Hange stopped him from walking towards their home's direction. "NO! I meant, how much did you pay?"
"Ah... like I said, two bucks each." He said, annoyance still laced in his words.
And that's when it clicked for Hange. "Ah huh! I knew it! Levi! She's into you! She's been giving you a discount in order to get you to pay attention to her! She's been flirting with you this whole time!"
And instead of how a typical girlfriend would act after having found out their boyfriend was being hit on by someone else, Hange looked absolutely elated.
"Why you so happy about that? Are you not afraid that I'll reciprocate her someday?"
Of course they both knew he was kidding. The bond and love they shared with each other, despite being subtle, was very much irreplaceable.
"Because, it means that from now on, I get to stock up on my favourite drinks at a nice price!"
"Tch... you don't even know if she actually lowered the price, Four-eyes. Maybe you got charged extra by accident."
But having stepped into the store and bringing back a drink with her, Hange had confirmed for both of them all they needed to know.
And so, that day forward, it became their little secret. Levi would get Hange her drinks at a discounted price because of a crush the cashier had on him.
At first everything seemed alright, but slowly as time progressed, Levi seemed more distant and dejected every time he returned from the store. Hange seemed to pick up on his change of mood, but wasn't sure what was causing it. So instead she watched on in silence as Levi's presence became more and more cold.
Unsure of how to bring it up, she watched silently, until eventually Levi was the first to bring it up.
"Hange... are you okay with someone else hitting on me? Are you fine of having others perceiving me as single?" Levi asked suddenly one night. They were doing their usual pre-bed night routine as Levi prepped their ten stepped skin care for both of them. Hange resting her head on his lap, a book open in front of her.
"Hm? No... Should I be?" She asked, her eyes still glued to the words on the pages before her.
Levi's hands stilled completely, bringing a silence over them following Hange's words.
"No... nothing." He muttered finally, getting up. "I'm done. Don't go to bed too late." He said before walking towards their shared bedroom, his face concealed by the dark room.
At first Hange sat there in confusion. What was up with him and his weird questions? She thought about going to him and getting an answer out of him, but as her gaze fell over the bottles of her favourite drink sitting by the doorstep, realization fell over her. And her heart shattered.
The following day, Levi was doing the usual run. Head downcast and eyes unfocused, he forced on a smile that didn't reach his eyes as the cashier continued telling him something he assumed was supposed to be funny.
"Anyways, that'd be ten dollars."
The usual conversation... the usual dissociation... the same dull pain he felt at pretending to be interested in someone he had no feelings for.
"If you're free, I've been thinking... maybe we can get to know each other outside of the sto-"
As Levi started handing over the bill, already coming up with a plausible excuse to not go on a date, a hand suddenly stopped him, pulling him back.
"Sorry, I think you've got the wrong price! The price tag reads five dollars for a drink, and we got five of them here. I think- I think you might be undercharging us!" A bright voice chirped out of breath.
"Hange?" Levi asked surprised, turning to see the mess of a woman before him. She was absolutely out of breath, her lab coat was still on her figure, where a bunch of stains of various unnatural colours painted the once white cloth, and worse of all, she had goggles over her glasses, and that wasn't counting the pair that hung from her neck or the one on her forehead.
"Sorry I'm late. Work took longer to finish than I thought." She puffed out, throwing him a wide smile.
The cashier cleared her throat, noticing the gaze between them, not liking how close they seemed. "Uh... I'm sure I put the price right... I'll go check on the price tags after I ring this customer." She said as she turned back to Levi, her eyes still turning to take a look at Hange. "Don't worry about it, pay the usual price you pay."
But before she could continue, Hange inserted herself once more. "No need! I've got the rest of the money here." She said, pulling out a bunch of lose change from her pockets. Some which fell to the floor if not rolling on the counter.
"Oops..."
"Ma'am... I'm sorry, but can you please wait for your turn? I'm helping this customer over here first. I'll get back to you af-"
"We're paying together. These are for her. She's my girlfriend." Levi said.
A stunned silence fell over the three of them at Levi's words. His confession even surprising Hange as it was the first time she'd heard him introduce her as his girlfriend to anyone else other than their family and friends.
There was a certain pride in his eyes as he finally got to call her his in public. He wasn't one for public affection, or making the world know of his business. But there was something that warmed his chest in having others see them as a couple. Of having made it known that Hange was his. And only his.
Hange smiled. "25 should be the full price." She said, picking up the forgotten coins on the counter before interlacing her fingers with Levi's, and rushing out the door together with his hand in hers. The wind carrying her contagious laugh as they made their way to their apartment. Onlookers and everything else be damned.
"Aren't you sad?" Levi finally asked as they crashed onto the floor of their entrance hall after having run all the way up the stairs to their home.
"Over?" She asked breathlessly, turning to look at her lover.
"The fact you'll have to pay more for the drinks. Or at least cut down on them."
Hange chuckled, a bright twinkle of amusement amongst her brown eyes. "It's worth it. I'd rather pay more for my drinks than lose that warmth of yours... I don't want the love of my life to feel like I'm hiding our relationship. Besides... It was kind of sexy having you put claim over me in front of someone who had eyes on you for a long time."
"Fucking unbelievable." Levi grumbled, causing Hange to giggle before rolling over so she was just over his face. A serious look suddenly taking over her features.
"I love you, Levi. You and no one else."
"I love you too, Four-Eyes." Levi whispered back, placing a hand to the back of her head to bring her closer to him. "Who else can drive me as insane as you?"
And with it, they melted into a kiss.

Just adding that they updated Telework Yotabanashi to chapter 16. And you will squeal at the ending.
nooooo that cliffhanger i cannot wait to see what happens next!!
also, also the chapter overall was so damn cute? i really liked the bit where they were playing games, and the guy (sorry i didn't remember his name, i just call him levi in my head) tricked the not-hange into opening that chest!! i actually squealed then, it was the perfect mix of amusing and adorable (and had such a levihan vibe i simply cannot with these two, it really feels like i'm reading a fanfic and i'm not complaining in the slightest)
if anyone hasn't read that manga yet, please do, it's really great and characters are amazing and i really love the progression of their relationship, it feels incredibly realistic and mature, especially with how awkward it is at times.
i'm a novice in romance manga so maybe all of them are that cute but that thing….. i'm so in love

I kinda wanted to draw a new character and somehow I felt the need to draw @argethara 's Levihan child Zabel as a young adult.

10 reasons why I like Levihan.
1. Height difference.
The rather noticeable height difference makes it fun and challenging to compose the drawing (especially when I acknowledge the fact that if Levi hugs a standing Hange from behind he won't be visible from a front pov)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Hair grab, sightless eye, scars, sweater swap.
All main things for me when I draw, but damn I've lost count of how many hair grabs I've done
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Character difference.
That's what makes them so compatible, thus allowing me to create little comics and fun situations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Interaction with other AOT characters.
I love how the others gravitate around them how they all secretly ship them (when it happens in fanfictions I'm always snickering), especially the vets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Angst.
A LOT of it. Mixes them perfectly together and makes it for the nice sad drawings that I'm always inclined to draw.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. LGBTQIA+ characters.
Call them non-binary, trans, gay or whatever you like [they might also fit as asexual , at least Levi (thank you @glassesandswords for sharing your pov on this I love it and cherish it], they're both not straight for sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
7.Re-draws.
I love doing re-draws and Levihan has plenty of awesome official art and manga/anime frames for me to re-draw.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. Cool poses.
Levihan has cool poses in abundance that allow me to experiment and challenge myself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. AUs.
They fit so well in so many AUs it's always a joy to discover a new one. I think the perfect one is FMAB, crossover with Royai, Hange being Roy and Levi being Riza obviously, but there are so many cool ones out there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. Fandom.
I found so many talented, selfless, strong and caring people like has never happened to me before, all united by the love for Levihan.

Hi Ness, would you like to share some of your fav LH fics?
OH YES GLADLY
1. Somewhere only we know by @someonestolemyshoes
Summary: Not to lay blame, but Levi is strongly of the opinion that had his mother never forced him into his robe and his sandals and out the front door on the eve of the One-Night Bridge, he might never have run into his classmates by the lake, and he might never have had to deal with What Happened to Armin. And, perhaps most importantly, Levi might never have spent the summer before his final year in high school swanning around a forest in the country with a girl and a book and a tally in one dog-eared corner.
But as it stands, she did, and everything that might not have followed, did follow.
Levi still isn’t entirely sure how he feels about that.
(I love this fic with my whole heart. I usually like canon-compliant fics and this is the first childhood AU I tried because the description seemed very compelling, and it's a Studio Ghibli AU. BOY I loved it so much. I squealed and sobbed and laughed while reading it. It was a beautiful, magical experience- one that I will never forget. Highly recommended.)
2. A Brief History of Reluctant Heroes by RockSaltAndRoll
Summary: Exhausted and numb after witnessing the deaths of his friends, Levi now has to struggle to rebuild his life within the Survey Corps. As much as he hates to admit it, this life suits him and before long he learns to trust the unlikeliest of people - a reckless young soldier with a passion for science and knowledge, the man Levi tried to kill who isn't as stoic and serious as he first appears, and a guy who can smell danger from a mile away.
(A canon-compliant post ACWNR fic. Has all the veterans having fun and going on expeditions and a slow burn Levihan. One of my favourite feel-good fics. And if that's not enough, it also has a snowball fight scene and drunk Erurihanmike cuddling. DELICIOUS.)
3. Challenge Accepted by Sleepyheadven
Summary: Levi is convinced the world is out to get him.
His beliefs are only further proven true when his longtime friend and roommate moves out and he's forced into living with a woman who's the complete and total opposite of him in every way. Well, with the exception of their shitty (in a literal sense) sense of humor.
(It's a modern era roommates AU which was also the first LH fanfic I ever read. Sure it's not perfect, but the writing gets better as the chapters flow and their banter is TOP CLASS. It was a fantastic read and it made me love them even more- and enter this wholesome community.)
4. Worth a Thousand Words by @someonestolemyshoes
Summary: Levi likes photography.
This, in itself, is no great secret. Hange can barely remember a time he wasn’t following after her with a camera strapped around his neck, or packed into his bag—always within reach, should something striking catch his eye. A little neon plastic toy, at first; each click of the shutter cycled through preloaded images, expert shots of famous landscapes, places they could only dream of seeing. And then, a polaroid—still a toy, in essence, still plastic, still gaudy, but this one took real pictures in real time, and spit them out into their eager, shaking fingers within seconds.
**
Hange discovers a secret facet to Levi's favourite hobby.
(This fic is a mix of angst and feel-good with modern-era-childhood-friends and coming-of-age Levihan. It evokes a very bittersweet feeling and might hit you in the feels if you moved away to a new place for college, leaving your home behind. This fic has this sense of nostalgia and longing that makes for a beautiful story.)
5. Unintended Consequences by Ella3982
Summary: Not all of the Anti-Personnel Control Squad died when the cavern collapsed; some of them escaped through the tunnel Hange, Moblit, and Armin used. And when the two parties meet, the Anti-Personnel Control Squad takes the three Scouts hostage with the intent to force the Survey Corp's hand. This slight deviation from canon leads to major consequences that have a resounding effect on the characters involved, both implicitly and explicitly.
This story takes a deeper look into the mental worlds of Hange and Levi, and it deals with both canon and non-canon events. Despite being pushed to the brink, they keep going - but living as a member of the Scout Regiment is never easy, so their road is one wrought with tragedy and desperation. Behind the scenes, how do they fare with their new responsibilities in the wake of new and old trauma?
(this story is DARK. Okay? It is dark AF. It has some graphically brutal scenes and everyone who reads this story must first go through the tags, for there’s a shit-ton of triggering stuff in there. But that aside, this story of trauma and healing hit me equally as hard as Isayama’s works. Which is to say- very hard. It’s some good canon-divergent angst if you are craving for hardcore ones.)
6. Clockwork by @tundrainafrica
Summary: "No side can be too taut, no side too loose. They need to move completely in sync. If one though perfects the balanced dance that comes with perfectly coordinating these opposing forces, it becomes an art. And sometimes the thinnest ropes could carry the heaviest weights."
Hange deals with loss, social pressure, the impending war and the responsibilities of being commander.
(This one is not a completely LH fic as such, but more of Hange's-struggle-angst 😭 Sav knows how to stab you in the gut with a knife of feels and twist it in a way that makes you double down in pain (in a good way if you like angst). I vividly remember reading it and going- why do you have to hurt me this way, bro? It's extremely well written and it will make you feel very bad for Hange.)
7. yellow by @ariadneamare
Summary: In another life, they found each other again. This reality, the next, and a thousand more he would keep coming back home for she was his mosaic of good memories.
(It's a modern au based on the song 'yellow' by Coldplay. And now, everytime I listen to that song, I get hit by a truck of angst. Another hard-hitting, tragic story with beautiful imagery. It's sort of like the Fault in our stars, but just a hundred times sadder because it's Levihan. I honestly thought this fic wouldn't affect me because I kinda knew where it was going already, but I was so wrong. Dammit.)
8. The Secret Society of The Children of the Forest by @redchestnut
Summary: Amid hope, postwar political tensions, and the unreliable postal service between Paradis and Marley, the Secret Society of the Children of the Forest works on its most important mission: rescuing the memory of the late 14th Commander of the Survey Corps, Hange Zöe. And with it, the smile of a certain captain.
An unknown love story, through the eyes of children.
(I love the concept, I love the execution, and I love everything about this fic. If you think Isayama left you hanging with the end of the manga and need some closure on LH's story, read this. This fic is in the form of letters sent between Kaya and Gabi, who are now pen-pals and span both- the life in Paradis and New Liberio post-war. It's perfectly done, has the exact amount of tension, action, and resolution that we need and the ending just touched my heart. A lovely fic.)
These are my absolute favourite Levihan fanfictions. As you can see, I am particularly partial to slowburn fluff and I usually love angst with a happy ending because *deep breath* HAVEN'T THEY SUFFERED ENOUGH IN CANON ALREADY?
I don't usually read NSFW works, but I do have one NSFW recommendation: All's Fair by splashfree
Summary: "If a shower weren’t so perfect, she’d feel worse about sneaking into Levi’s room to get it. But surely he’d agree: all’s fair in love, war, and hygiene."
Hanji steals Levi's hot water. don't ask me how this happened i don't even know.
(It's well-written and it got the characters spot on. Great banter and pretty realistic, as far as a scenario for a smut scene goes. I liked it.)
So, yeah! These are my favourite LH fics so far! This list might have new additions in time, and I do have more recommendations in my bookmarks page in Ao3 so feel free to check those out too :)
Thanks for the ask! I had fun listing these out and gushing about them.

Hi I just feel like I need to ramble and maybe some one else out there feels the same way. So in the AOT I’m not all that big on ships just because shipping really isn’t my thing but I do enjoy it to an extent. I consider myself to be a multi shipper because again the relationships in AOT are so complex and I love all the characters and their dynamics. My biggest “ship” would be Eurihan just because that trio to me is all sorts of fun and I love their dynamic.
But with that being said, I find myself to be drifting farther and farther away from the Eruri aspect just because as I continue to reread the manga and pay attention to the themes of the story canonically speaking I don’t actually see any “romance” between them. The Fannon concepts of Eruri are fun and beautifully tragic with the fan arts and stories especially in modern AU. They are a very attractive couple and I fully understand the hype but canonically speaking I just don’t see it anymore. I love their dynamic as a whole and brings such a complex look to both Levi and Erwins character that their friendship is something to admire.
And with that being said I feel their complexity of characters and their story gets lost within the fandom. I think the term that is used is “shipping goggles” when canon stuff of the original story gets lost or replaced for the sake of the ship. Which in this case I feel happens a lot in Eruri specifically.
Now I really don’t want people to feel I am bashing Eruri. I’m obviously a fan with my own fan art and my interactions with mutuals so please no one take offense. This is just a quirk I have in every fandom when canon material gets lost for the sake of a ship.
Specifically with Levi.
Now I understand my biases consider Levi is my favorite character and I truly Kin him. But when I watch edits or read DJs or even just scrolling through things like tumblr or Twitter I find myself avoiding the Eruri tags because I get so frustrated when all I see if Levi’s entire character being based around Erwin. The concept that Levi is only alive to fulfill Erwins promise or he only fights for Erwin and completely derailing his character to be centered around Erwin is frustrating.
Levi fights for all the scouts since the very beginning. When else first meet him and he promises the dying scout he would eradicate the Titans, this is a shared dream the scouts had and has said he will do what he can for All of them. Not just Erwin.
Now this isn’t to disregard Erwins importance to Levi. Erwin gave him a purpose to live, he was his friend and trusted comrade and felt he was the best for humanity. Erwin is important to Levi no one is saying other wise. He just isn’t the center of Levi’s world.
Levi trusted Erwin because he saw something bigger than himself and Levi wanted to help Erwin get there because Levi himself if a very loving and selfless character. This I find to be so beautiful of Levi’s (and mikasas) character.
When Levi learns the truth behind Erwins actions and his selfish reasons to fight for humanity was for the sake of seeing in the basement really sent Levi into turmoil. (I feel this is WITs fault for not expressing this properly in the anime) this is why he continued to pester and push Erwin to know his motives past the basement, because Levi wanted to believe he was this selfless leader he had been finessed into believing he was (because we can’t forget canonically speaking Erwin is a con man and enjoys gambling which makes him and great leader)
Levi tells Erwin to die so he would continue to go down with the facade he was a selfless leader and to continue to live up to the expectation. Levi accepted this fault of Erwin just as he had accepted the faults of all his comrades and their selfish actions.
Levi was canonically devoted to Erwin, but not in the romantic way.
Erwin also never expressed a “interest” in Levi in that matter outside of their friendship and Levi’s abilities. It also should keep in mind that Erwin was ultimately in love with Marie, and chose not to have a family and a wife (which he actually wanted) to avoid having a widow. We can head cannon all day long about how “he realized in his last moments” or “behind the scenes” or interpreting smart press stories a certain way to fit the narrative but it’s just important to remember the difference between cannon material and your own HCs.
Now I know a lot of people will read this and think “wow a levihan shipper wrote this” and you would be right I also ship levihan as well. And they are also not cannon in a relationship as well but the romantic implications for them specifically cannot be ignored because you don’t like them. Levi and Hange are canonically best friends. They are known as the “abnormals” of the scouts. They know each other the best. Their relationship is so complex it cannot be defined as a friendship. (Even Moblit admits he doesn’t have a bond with Hange like Levi does) and it’s okay if you just see them as friends, and I honestly don’t blame a lot of people who do considering WIT really bit the bullet with missing key Levi and Hange moments to better fit their dynamic (I’ve seen people say they aren’t even good friends and that breaks my heart they are besties )
And honestly why wouldn’t you want to ship levihan? This ship in my opinion is the least problematic with the least controversy to it. It’s comforting and sweet and gives a sense of love and family. It’s literally a best friends-> lovers trope. Their friendship is what makes this ship in my opinion so pure and honestly why I fall in love with it more everyday.
And I know some will say “what about Moblit?” And honestly, it bothers me how much he is used to argue levihan because I ultimately feel his character also gets dumbed down as a default for Hange just for shipping and it bothers me too.
*and honestly guys Hange and Moblit isn’t even that great in a ship since considering Moblit became an anxious alcoholic trying to take care of Hange and Hange would get so caught up with their work they wouldn’t even notice. NOTE: they obviously cared for each other as comrades and Moblit felt Hange was needed for humanities survival and cared for them obviously but just my opinion I don’t see that ship working in my opinion.
But in reality guys, I never saw any of these characters “getting together” because they’re soldiers. Their hearts were dedicated to the cause of saving humanity first so that’s the beauty of AOT and the ambiguity of the characters relationships with one another because ultimately they all have attributes to love and benefit each other. Even with the forest scene and the plane for Levi and Hange, I never expected A “happy ending” for them in the sense of platonic or romantic because that doesn’t fit their canon narratives. Levi was destined to be the last soldier standing and brings the complexity of being the perfect soldier with a human heart.
*though the implication of romantic feelings never being acted on were there because they indeed paralleled with eren and mikasa
Levi’s literally means “attached” he attaches himself to the people he cares about and dedicated his strength and ability to help others gain their hopes and dreams.
Erwin tragically lost his humanity to become the devil for the sake of humanity which ultimately left him fruitless to his venture.
Hange taking on the burden of making the tough decisions and shouldering the weight of the deaths of the soldiers and Erwins legacy left them feeling loss and useless until their sacrifice.
All these characters have such complexity to them, they are all deeper than their fannon ship and should be appreciated and the narrative shouldn’t be shifted for the sake of a ship.
Levi didn’t fight to the end for just Erwin he did it for all of them.
So again, sorry for my rambles and I hope there will be those who read this and understand where I am coming from with this and understand though I will continue to ship all three, it still makes me sad I feel I can’t interact with some without them destroying entire characters for the sake of the ship.
So again love ships not ship wars. That’s the fun part when ships aren’t cannon you can just mix and match whenever you feel like it ❤️❤️

ooh what about first dance vs last dance for the prompt thing? I’m soft for levihan dancing together, it’s the kind of thing that can be very cute or very angsty and anywhere in-between haha
Ao3 link, prompt link
——
“They went that way!”
A group of MP security guards for the Sina Military Ball ran across the dance floor. The live band played music, blasting under the dim lights of the romantically lit ballroom, and the guards weaved through all the beautifully dressed soldiers trying to catch the culprits—two people had dumped gallons of punch over the balcony right onto the high ranking MP officers sitting the outside in the courtyard.
The guards pushed through the confused guests, and though their voices were drowned out by the music they knew that one of the offenders was a man with jet black hair. One guard came much too close for comfort and in a panic, Hange grabbed Levi, swung him out of sight behind her height, and spun him around to face her, hooking her arms over and around his shoulders. She pulled him close and held her breath as she felt the guard stop right behind her.
“People tend to look away from public displays of affection, right?”
“What??”
Hange quickly cupped Levi’s cheeks in her hands, and went in for a kiss. Levi almost yelped out in surprise, yet soon felt himself melt under the feeling of her lips on his. He felt the sudden urge to slip his fingers into her hair and kiss her back with intention, but before he could, she had broken the kiss and looked over her shoulder.
“Hah, Levi! We got away with it! They’re gone!” Hange turned back to him and gave him a big smile and pulled him in for a hug.
Levi felt a blush reach his cheeks, and was thankful that the dim lighting in that room would hide it from Hange. He hadn’t ever really spent much time with Hange yet, and he only recently began to consider her something more than an acquaintance. A friend, maybe. A very nice one at that.
The two of them had been paired up to represent the Scouting Legion at the ball, along with Erwin, Nanaba, Mike, and a few other Scouts. After growing tired of the dumb traditions and formalities of the Paradisian military, a mix of a few drinks, Hange’s big brain, and their equal disgust for the MP, naturally they decided to play pranks on MP officers all night. They snickered together as they snuck laxatives into some of their drinks and pinned little paper signs saying “i’m stupid” on MP officers’ backs. But, the icing on the cake was the stocks of punch they found outside the kitchens. It was the perfect night, and Levi found himself quite happy—happier than he’s felt in a long time. Maybe ever.
As Hange turned back to face him, he felt her loosen her hug to leave while the coast was clear, but Levi slid his hands around her waist, holding her gently.
“Maybe... we should stay here and dance a bit. Yknow... blend in with the crowd in case they come back looking for us,” Levi said softly.
“Good idea!” She rested her forearms on his shoulders and laced her fingers together behind his neck. They swayed to the music together. Hange whispered dumb jokes to him as they danced, and he hoped she didn’t feel him sneakily pull her in an inch closer after each one. He looked into her eyes and for a brief moment, he swore he could see her blushing. He didn’t know how to explain how he felt, but all he knew was that he wanted to spend more time around Hange. As the song ended, she gave Levi a quick hug before Nanaba grabbed her shoulder and whirled her away, leaving Levi standing where he stood. As the two reached the edge of the room, Hange looked back before they could turn the corner, and gave Levi a little wave, a soft look in her eyes.
“Our first dance, huh,” Levi thought. He hoped there’d be more.
—————-
The Sina Military Ball restarted a few years after the fight at Shiganshina, to both Hange and Levi’s annoyance.
Hange was too busy but had to show up to represent the Scouts, just as before.
Everything was the same old routine, but this time, Levi sat around for most of it. Hange had to converse and mingle with the MP and Garrison, in attempts to remain on everyone’s good side, if possible. So, Levi sat at a nearby table, watching over her, moving occasionally when she’d move out of eyesight. He later saw Sasha and Connie running across the dance floor, some MO officers chasing behind them, one clearly drenched in water.
Levi chuckled to himself, memories of his and Hange’s pranks from back in the day coming to mind. These 104th idiots were no different, and he was quite proud of it. More and more of them kept running back and forth, and Levi just sat back and watched. As the night went on, and people had more drinks in them, Levi found his chance.
When Hange had a free moment, he grabbed her by the hand, and she couldn’t help but smile at his touch. He then took both of her hands and threw them both over his shoulders, hugging her close. He rubbed his hands over her back, trying to get her to relax a little—she was so tense from all the business talk. “Thanks, Levi,” she whispered.
They swayed to the music, Hange telling him jokes about all the dumb conversations she had that night, ranting about how bland they all were. He told her all about the 104th kids pranking the MP, just as they did back when they were young and stupid. Hange’s eyes welled up with tears, and Levi gave her a concerned look.
“No, no it’s okay! Happy tears, Levi. I’m just so happy they take after us,” she said with a small laugh. The new chandeliers above them shined dimly over them, just enough to light up Hange’s face.
“Hange’s so beautiful,” he thought.
“Hey,” Hange said with a smirk. “Didn’t you say you fell in love with me right here on this spot? That one night we landed that punch bowl right on top of that one MP officer’s head??” She nudged at him and wiggled her eyebrows, as Levi swatted at her hand and looked away.
“Pfff, you did too, if I recall,” he said with a smug look on his face.
She closed her eyes and laughed, leaning her head forward onto Levi’s shoulder. She squished her cheek up against the side of his neck, nuzzling him with affection. “Yeah, you are 100% correct ya big softie,” she whispered in his ear.
“Come on, let’s sneak out of here, Hange. Maybe we can fit in some prank on a poor little MP officer before we leave.”
He felt her smile against his skin.
“Sounds like a plan, Shorty. But can we dance to one more song?”
Levi turned his head to give her a soft kiss on the cheek.
“Of course, Four-eyes.”

To 21 - A LeviHan Basketball AU
This fic is a gift for the amazing @les4levihan AKA Makiscurse on discord, for the Xmas in July event in the Levihan University discord server. I hope you enjoy the gift friend! I saw you like the rivals to lovers trope, and summer sports, so I put together a little LeviHan high school basketball AU! Hope this is to your taste! Merry Xmas in Julyyyy
--
“Travel!” Levi called as Hanji dashed past him dribbling the basketball.
“How was that a travel?” Hanji kept bouncing the ball from hand to hand.
“That was three steps, easy.”
“No way, Ackerman.”
“Yes-way, Zoe.”
“You’re just heated because you're down by two points.” She stopped dribbling and held the ball under her arm, resting it on her hip.
“I’m heated because it’s 95 degrees out here.” Levi swiped his forehead of sweat with the back of his hand. “And because you traveled.”
“I didn’t travel.” Hanji narrowed her eyes at him. “I never travel.”
“Tell that to every referee who has ever called you on it.”
“I think you must be mistaking me for you.” Hanji huffed. “But, fine. If you’re going to get pissy about it.” She tossed the ball directly at Levi’s head, but he deftly caught it in one hand. She rolled her eyes at the smug look he shot her afterward. “Your ball.”
Levi dribbled to half-court, turning so he could check the ball to Hanji. Before she tossed it back, she said indignantly, “I play by the rules.”
“Oh yeah?” Levi challenged. “Like in that game last season when you pushed that girl from Sina High out of bounds?”
“Okay, she was being obnoxious. She kept putting pressure on me starting from the first time I brought the ball down the court.”
“Yeah well, get used to it. When you’re good, people make you a target.”
“Oh, so I’m good now? See, just the other day you said my free throws are trash.”
“Your free throws are trash. You have a 60 percent success rate.” Levi nodded and received another ball to the face. This time, he barely swiped it away in time. “Watch it!”
Hanji stuck out her tongue, raising her hands up, ready to defend. “Bring it, Ackerman.”
Levi narrowed his eyes before focusing on the game at hand again. He was down by two points, and Hanji was only one point away from reaching 21. He had to catch up.
He threw the ball down, starting to dribble, watching as Hanji locked her eyes onto his hips. She always swore she could tell which direction a player would go just by watching their hips. He had to admit it was always extremely difficult getting past her, and a bit distracting as he watched her watch him.
Both he and Hanji were their high school basketball team’s respective point guards, Hanji for the women’s team and he for the men’s.
Levi remembers freshman year tryouts, when the girls had half the gym and the boys the other, his attention was constantly being caught by this tall, gangly brunette who kept getting in layup after layup, even against senior defenders. She was ambidextrous, easily switching from left to right-handed shots, and she was agile, her skills handling the ball were college level at least. She was a shoo-in for the women’s team, and over the years she had only improved. Senior year, it was an easy decision for Coach Erwin to make her team captain.
Meanwhile, Levi more than held his own on the men’s team. He was one of the best all-around shooters and defenders. He had the best free throw success rate, and the highest stats for three-pointers and assists. He could always execute a play to perfection and he was a rock for all his teammates.
Two incredible players, not in direct opposition. One would think that they would get along great. However, Levi and Hanji most certainly butted heads over the years. They were in fact, infamous for their squabbles on both their teams, especially after they both were named captains of their respective teams senior year.
Oftentimes, they fought over court space, who got the better time slots in the gym. The morning slots on the weekends were the most coveted, as each team wanted to get their practice out of the way early so as to have the rest of the day free. Unfortunately, Paradis Academy was a small school, with only one gym, with one basketball court.
Hanji had once proposed that both teams just practice together at the same time. That had been an absolute disaster that ended in a near-death match between her and Levi, wrestling each other to the ground, with their teammates cheering them on until the coaches had to get involved and pull them apart. Levi still had the bite mark on his calf from where Hanji had decided to fight dirty.
Now, the issue was solved by a simple one-on-one match between Hanji and Levi every Friday afternoon. The first person to score 21 points against the other won the morning time slots for the weekend.
They had played these one-on-one games ten times now and were evenly matched, Hanji winning five and Levi winning five. Hanji was ahead currently, but Levi was determined to beat her. The other guys on the team would ream him if he lost for a second week in a row.
He dribbled the ball a few more times, before faking right quickly and then actually going left. Hanji predicted his movements perfectly, however, and she was on him in a second, putting pressure on him as she used her height and long arms to prevent him from moving forward. Levi turned his back to her, dribbling the ball slightly away so she couldn’t smack it out of his hands. He pressed his hips back into her, trying to box her out.
“You’re not getting past me, Ackerman.” Hanji leered.
“Yeah?” Levi stepped directly between her legs, then twisted his body around so his other foot could step on the outside of one of hers, he pressed his hips back into her and threw her off balance just enough to get her arms down so he could turn and get in a clean jump shot.
“19-20 four eyes.” Levi recited the new score.
Hanji shot him with a death glare before she went to retrieve the ball.
“So we’re playing dirty now?” Hanji walked to half court and checked the ball into Levi.
Levi checked it back, shooting her a rare grin. “That wasn’t dirty. That was just a good play.”
Hanji narrowed her eyes as she began dribbling the ball. Levi learned after watching her and playing against her over the years that Hanji tended to strategize a lot before making any moves. Even if she made a play quickly, there was a lot of thought that went into each and every one of her movements. Unfortunately, she was still rather unpredictable. Hanji was incredibly smart, both on and off the court, and could come up with a new strategy on the spot, much faster than the average player.
Levi watched her in anticipation, keeping himself on his toes, ready to defend any possible offense Hanji might throw at him.
He never could have predicted what Hanji did next.
She dribbled directly up to him, so they were almost toe-to-toe. She stopped and caught the ball in her hands, holding it to her side as with the other hand she grabbed Levi’s collar and pulled him closer to her.
The next thing Levi knew, her lips were against his, warm and soft, tasting of the slightest hint of mango mixed with salt from the sweat on her skin. His eyes closed automatically, like a reflex, as he leaned closer towards her.
But just as quickly, Hanji pulled away from him, leaving his lips feeling suddenly cold.
He didn’t even notice as Hanji positioned the ball in her right hand, balancing it with the left, and took a shot. The tell-tale swooshing sound of the net behind him alerting him that she had scored.
“And that’s 21, shortie.” Hanji grinned.
Levi's mouth hung open as Hanji started to do her trademark victory dance, where she threw her hands up in the air and did an awkward-looking hip wiggle.
"There's no way that counts." Levi started to argue.
"How so?" Hanji countered. "I didn't break any rules."
"There's-" Levi sputtered out. "That has to be illegal."
"Kissing your opponent isn't explicitly stated as illegal in any basketball rulebook I know of."
"I'm reporting this to Coach Zackly." Levi huffed and stormed over to where his bag sat on the side of the court.
"Okay, but when you tell him, tell him you kissed me back!" Hanji retorted.
"I didn't-" Levi blushed bright red. "You kissed me!"
"And you liked it."
"I-" Levi pressed his lips together tightly, which was a mistake as he caught another taste of Hanji's lips on his own, making him blush an even deeper shade of red.
Unfortunately, and very confusingly, for Levi, he did like it.

Happy Birthday Hange - A Levihan Drabble
Gift giving was one of the easier ways Levi learned to express feelings, be it gratitude, love, or something else.
It is a yearly ritual now. Levi made chocolates for Hange that one time and she never let it go. She’d beg Levi to make her sweets and Levi would always relent. Her joy upon receiving it was always the best part for Levi. After all these years, she must just expect it by now, but she’d act with the same unadulterated enthusiasm every time.
It was always worth it. It was worth the time, the money, and the dishes. All worth it to see Hange smile.
Onyankopon had the car for the day- not that Levi would drive it- but Gabi had her licence now and would always jump at the chance to chauffeur. Gabi would have dutifully wheeled Levi to anywhere and everywhere he wanted. She would have, if only he had asked. Even without access to the car, Levi’s trip would have only been a couple of hours.
He spent the day in different bakeries, multiple farmers’ markets, and countless shops. His wheelchair certainly made the journey more difficult but he was in no rush. He took his time comparing the ingredients for Hange’s Birthday cake, wanting the best Marley had to offer.
Levi trudges through the door and Onyankopon greets him from the living room, where he sat with a book and glass of whisky.
“Hey, Levi, where have you been?” He hollers.
Levi doesn’t answer as he was struggling with the bags. Onyankopon peeks around the corner and smiles knowingly. “Oh I see, is it that time already?”
“It would seem so,” Levi replied dryly.
Onyankopon watches Levi hobble over to the kitchen. Past experiences taught him not to offer any help. This was Levi’s yearly project, his leg be damned.
“What flavour this time?” He asked.
“Lemon Raspberry,” Levi stated.
“Ah, Hange’ll love that,” he said with a smile and returned to his reading.
Once Levi unpacked all the ingredients, he donned his apron, rolled up his sleeves, and went to work. It’s late, but he should be done in time.
He measures two round segments of parchment paper to line the cake pans with and greases both sides. In a large bowl he takes all the wet ingredients and mixes. He adds in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. It is tedious work, but anything for Hange.
He can’t stand for very long, but the tall kitchen stool is tall enough for Levi to continue working.
Next, Levi whisks together the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and folds them into each other until everything is just barely combined. Levi fights the urge to get all the clumps out, but this recipe calls for lumps and dry streaks.
“Tch.” Stupid Four-Eyes. Of course she’d like this weird recipe.
In a separate bowl, he washes and gently tosses fresh raspberries in some flour. He adds to the batter and folds them in, again, being careful to not over mix.
He then divides the batter evenly between the two pans and puts them in the oven. Time for a tea break. He slowly sips as the room is filled with the smell of fresh baked cake, a hint of the crisp raspberries and lemon. He is already quite satisfied with the way it smells. Now to get started on Hange’s favourite part: the frosting.
It is a thick cream cheese frosting, and Levi’s arms are sore from all the mixing. He constantly switches because his non-dominant arm is less comfortable but his dominant hand is missing 2 fingers. He adds in lemon zest, lemon juice, and salt. He remembers when salt was a luxury in Paradis. Now it sits on his dinner table. He continues beating the frosting until it’s very light and fluffy. He dips his pinky into the batter and licks it, testing the taste. His face scrunches up at the sweetness. Perfect, he thinks to himself.
He checks the cakes, making sure the tops are a nice golden brown. He sticks a toothpick in the centres, and is content when they both come out clean. Levi takes the cakes and puts them on a rack to cool.
He is not one to leave a mess for very long, and so he gets started on the dishes. Levi is feeling hot, with the exertion compounded by the heat of the oven. He wipes his brow and decides to shower while he waits for the cakes to cool off. Onyankopon is in bed now, and Levi realizes how late it’s getting. He’d better make this quick, or else he was going to miss it.
Feeling refreshed from his shower and clean clothes, Levi returns to the kitchen. He brews a fresh pot of tea and gets to work on decorating.
He spreads some frosting along with chunks of raspberry on top of one of the cakes, and layers the other on top, pressing down lightly to seal them together. He uses a knife to shave the sides so they are even with one another. The double layer dessert is starting to take form.
Levi meticulously smoothes out the thick icing on the top and sides of the cake, making it completely unblemished. He garnishes the top with a handful of raspberries around the perimeter and a lemon slice in the middle. It looks just like the one he saw in the bakery a little while back. He looks up at the clock. It’s almost time.
He can practically hear Hange’s whoops of excitement. She’d scruff up his hair and make some joke about how something so sweet came from someone so salty. He can already feel her arms around him in an embrace of gratitude. Levi smiles to himself as he places a single candle in the center of the little cake and lights it. He watches as the delicate flame dances in the dark. He takes this moment to reminisce, remember, and mourn.
The grandfather clock in the living room chimes, indicating it was midnight.
“Happy Birthday Hange,” Levi says to the candle before blowing it out.

How to Confess to a Guy
Summary: Levi and Hange have a crush on one another for years. It is now time for someone to step up and confess!
Disclaimer: Attack on Titan is a manga/anime series written by Hajime Isayama and published by Kondasha
© All rights reserved
A/N: @levihanweek Thank you for hosting the Levihan Eggschange event! I enjoyed participating in it.
To my giftee, I hope you find your gift and enjoy it. I hope the clues I gave you helped as well. Enjoy! :)
Camp Paradis is a 7-week, 400-acre summer camp for teenagers hidden deep in the woods of Washington state. Founded in the 1950s by the Fritz family, it is run by Dot Pixis, a man famous for his many achievements when he was a camper many years ago. It is known for offering a variety of activities for each camper. Some activities included fishing, sailing, swimming, paddle boarding, and more!
The camp had a small lake with 12 cabins surrounding it. Each cabin had three campers and one counselor. Each camp counselor was typically seniors and college students. Additionally, there was an even bigger lake, Lake Maria, where the camp's rival, Camp Marley, resided across. Camp Marley was also 7 weeks but had 500 acres, and it was by Theo Magath.
No two counselors in Camp Paradis are alike. Each counselor is unique. For example, Erwin Smith, the counselor for Ursus cabin, is greatly admired by his campers because of his dedication and leadership quality. He is the counselor who typically leads his cabin to victory every year at the Paradis games that occur at the last week of camp.
On the other hand, Levi Ackerman, the counselor for Vulpes cabin, was known as very strict with his campers. Other campers from other cabins note how it always smells like detergent, and his campers clean the cabin often.
(They are in the woods, for crying out loud! How did he manage to bring all of the cleaning supplies? This remained a mystery to everyone except in the Vulpes cabin.)
Just like any other teenage-related camp, the campers always spread rumors to relieve their boredom. Some of which have not been debunked.
Rumor 1: Bigfoot is hidden somewhere deep in the woods that has yet to be found. There were occasional sightings near the camp in the previous years. Dot Pixis himself almost caught him one day but failed. Anyone who can find and capture Bigfoot can earn a generous reward from Pixis. Eren and his friends actually tried to look for it but ran into his older half-brother, Zeke, instead (he kind of looked like one in the dark). He and his friends did not realize they walked all the way to Camp Marley.
Rumor 2: Someone went to Camp Marley to serenade Annie Leonhart when she was outside playing the piano. Annie refused to reveal who, yet she blushed every time someone from Camp Marley asked. Someone (*cough Ymir) had an idea who. Some campers claimed to see Ymir often tease Armin after the rumors started. It is possible the Armin did it.
Rumor 3: Levi Ackerman likes Hange Zoe from Strix cabin and vice versa. Actually, it seemed more like a fact than a rumor to everyone except them.
Let's look at the evidence:
Evidence 1: Levi always takes care of Hange when she forgets to take care of herself. It typically ranges from, but not limited to: making sure she eats, jumping into any time she is at risk for injury without a second thought, tending to her wounds when she does get hurt, forcing her to bathe (Connie accidentally walked into it once. He vowed to constantly check on Levi and Hange's whereabouts before he gets killed by Levi's death glare), and "accidentally" eliminating any suitors Hange may have.
(He does not actually kill them or anything. That is against camp rules. There was one time when Zeke Yeager went to Camp Paradis to confess his feelings to Hange. He actually almost made it to her cabin but a random shoe "accidentally" hit him on the head, causing him to stumble and fall into the lake. No one knows how he fell, but Hange walked out to see what was going on. She saw Levi drinking tea nearby, while mysteriously missing a shoe, and went to him. Apparently, she did not see Zeke at all, so Zeke had to get help from Pieck, who was hiding nearby)
Evidence 2: Hange rants to Levi about her latest research back home. Hange can talk anyone into sleeping with the amount of research she does. Yet, Levi stays up to listen. It could be because of his insomnia, but he never gets tired of listening to her rants. Other campers note that he at least looks interested every time Hange rants.
Evidence 3: The one incident last year when Hange was jealous and did not talk to Levi for half of the camp duration. There was a rumor going around that Levi was dating Petra, counselor of Lynx cabin. As a result, Hange hung out with Moblit, counselor of Lupus cabin, more that year instead. Hange claimed it was to give the couple space, but only her closest friends could tell something was up.
For instance, Eren was hiking on another expedition to find Bigfoot when he ran into Hange, kicking down a tree in anger. Eren immediately ran back to camp in hopes that Hange did not notice him and broke his bones. He was actually intimidated by her for a week.
(In reality, Hange was so sure Levi was going to confess to her that year. Additionally, Levi was jealous of how Hange spent time with Moblit more. Not everyone in camp could tell except for his campers Eren, Jean, and Connie. They could feel the chills running down their spines every time Levi was in the cabin with them, and it was summer.)
Evidence 4: Levi was always by Hange's side. Anyone in the camp can tell you that Levi is at least nearby Hange unless it is for very personal reasons (except bathing). He mainly stayed close to her after last year's incident when he literally kicked down her door and cleared the misunderstandings.
(In reality, Levi and Petra were not dating. Petra had confided to Levi about dating advice (for a reason he is unaware of, except everyone in the camp *cough Hange *cough). In the end, Levi remained single and had to fix the Strix cabin's door. On the bright side, Petra started dating Oluo Bozado from Meles cabin.)
Neither party had ever confessed to one another despite all the evidence proving that they have feelings for one another. Now that both Levi and Hange are about to graduate high school, it was the perfect time to confess before they go their separate ways because of their careers.
However, life is very unexpected, and when you add Hange to the mix…
Well, anything goes.
---
"This is it," Hange said to herself as she got everything ready in her canoe. She was prepared to sail across the lake towards Levi's cabin.
Both cabins were situated on different sides of the lake. The camp was designed so one half was for boys and the other half was for girls. It was a very dumb inconvenience for Hange.
Hange scoffed as she sat down on the canoe and began rowing. "Why couldn't our cabins be placed next to each other. It would give me less work to do." The only guy and girl cabins next to each other were Petra's cabin and Mike's cabin.
Hange decided that today was the day she will confess to Levi. They have been in an awkward "does he/she like me? does he/she not?" for years now, and none of them confessed at all. There are even rumors about it, for crying out loud!
The two had met three years ago when Hange and Levi were campers at Camp Paradis. It was really unexpected. Hange was ready to get down in the dirt during the activities and often kept some insects to study. On the other hand, Levi was a clean freak and a prodigy at the camp activities. It became sort of like a friendly competition between the two, and then they suddenly started hanging out more. They have known each other for years. She even calls herself his best friend.
(She never realized how recently Levi would scowl every time she claimed to be his best friend. To him, she was much more than that.)
Overall, Hange would look forward to seeing Levi again every summer.
It has been four years of dancing around whatever they have that Hange now dared herself to confess before the summer ends, and they leave for college. It is better to do something and get rejected (which she hopes does not happen) than do nothing.
Hange stopped rowing when she got close enough that Levi has to hear her. She could make out his figure sitting on the front steps of his cabin with Mike, Erwin, and Furlan.
She sets the oar to the side, takes a deep breath, and presses play on the small radio she took from Rico's cabin. The beginning notes of the song plays in the air.
You can do this
Hange began to sing the first line.
---
Minutes before
Mike, Erwin, and Furlan were talking about who knows what, not Levi was not paying attention anyway. His mind was preoccupied with a certain eccentric girl he knew.
She was very secretive lately. Sometimes she would freak out whenever Levi approached her, and he has not seen her all day. He even planned on confessing to her after dinner. It seemed as if Hange was preoccupied with something.
Levi would not even get to say one word before Hange ran off, claiming she is busy and cannot be disturbed.
Levi scowled at the thought. Hange would usually tell him beforehand if she is busy, but her saying nothing? Something is definitely up, but she wants to not tell him then it was fine by him (or so he says).
Furlan, who noticed Levi's brooding, smirked. "Hey Levi, are you thinking about Hange again?"
Mike and Erwin stopped talking and smirked as well.
Levi rolled his eyes. "I was not thinking about Hange. At all." He said in a serious tone.
"Mhmm," Furlan replied. He shifted in his spot and gave Levi a smug look. He was not convinced.
"Don't hide it, Levi," Mike added. "We all know how you go goo-goo eyes every time Hange enters the room. You are always checking up on her too."
"I don't make goo-goo eyes at Hange," Levi deadpanned with a monotone voice. "I only check up on her because it is a miracle she can see those dirty her glasses she wears."
Erwin's smirk never faded away as he lightly elbows Furlan on the side. "He always calls her by two nicknames, Furlan. He gives anyone more than one nickname too. They might not sound endearing, but he rarely calls Hange by her name."
"Can you imagine what Levi is thinking now?" Furlan laughed. He turned around from his spot, so he back faced Levi, hugged himself, and started making fake kissing noises.
"Oh, Hange! I don't want to be just friends with you. I will marry you, and we're going to have 100 bab-"
Levi slapped Furlan on the head. He stood up the moment Furlan spoke. Mike and Erwin were in the background howling with laughter.
"Cut the crap, Furlan," Levi said and made his way back to his spot on the steps.
"Ok, ok. You win, Levi." Furlan rubbed the back of his head where Levi had slapped him. Luckily for him, Levi did not hit him too hard, and it did not hurt that badly. He goes back to talking to Mike and Erwin about other counselors about other rumors they heard. He will tease Levi again later.
Meanwhile, Levi rolled his eyes at his friend's childishness and began to think about the subject of his earlier torment. It was already almost dinner time, and he has not seen Hange all day. He was hoping she would at least appear for dinner, or else he would have to drag her to the dining hall by force.
Levi was busy with his thoughts and staring at his feet to notice anything around him. He was too busy to focus on the music playing, and the girl he (does not) have a crush on making her way over from across the lake.
"Uhh, Levi?" Furlan spoke while looking at the lake. Levi ignored him; instead, he was too busy thinking about Hange to notice she was heading towards him at that very moment.
Mike and Erwin turned to face what Furlan was staring at. Their jaws dropped.
On Lake Sina was the one and only Hange Zoe making her way towards Levi's cabin on a canoe while singing the song "We Belong" by Pat Benatar so loud that everyone in the camp could hear her. She also wore shorts and a camp T-shirt. She did not wear a life jacket.
Talk about romantic.
"Levi!" Mike said urgently and shook his shoulder.
"What?" Levi turned to Mike. He was irritated by his friends messing with him about his crush (yes, he will admit it but not out loud to his nosy friends).
What else did they need now? They could always bother someone else.
Levi noticed where Mike was pointing to and was about to turn in said direction until he heard a voice coming from somewhere behind him.
"Well, it seems like you won't die a virgin after all, huh, shortass? Who knew?"
Levi knew that voice. His cousin, Mikasa, from Cervidae cabin, Levi had the pleasure (not) of watching over at this camp. It was a good thing he did not have to deal with her and her obvious crush on Eren Jaeger. He did feel bad for Rico because she had to deal with that gloomy brat in her cabin.
Levi turned around to face his cousin. She was standing a few feet away from him with a few of her friends that he recognized. The tall, brunette one with her hair in a ponytail, Sasha, also from Cervidae cabin, was eating a sandwich (she probably got it from the camp across the lake). She must have raided Camp Marley recently.
(They have a chef there who can apparently make really delicious food. Levi only knew because Hange planned on kidnapping him one time just to try some).
Mikasa's other friend, Historia, the short blonde-haired girl from Lynx cabin, smiled pleasantly at Levi.
"What are you talking about, brat?" he glared at Mikasa.
Historia giggled and pointed in the direction of the lake. "Over by the lake. Can't you hear Hange singing? I knew she could sing, but wow! I wonder if she is singing to a lucky guy? That would be so adorable!"
Levi's eyes widen in surprise. He tuned out Historia's gushing when it hit him.
That means…Hange...oh no.
He turned his head to find that Hange was indeed singing and making her way towards his direction.
His direction!
Erwin and Mike noticed the blush on Levi's face and smirked. Furlan clamped his hand on Levi's shoulder like a proud dad. Levi could hear the smirk in Furlan's voice that he would love to punch away if it weren't for Hange.
"I wonder who the guy is too, Historia. He is indeed a lucky guy."
Levi shook Furlan off and started heading towards Hange.
Hange noticed Levi coming closer and stops rowing. She dropped her oar off to the side.
"Hey! Levi!" She yelled out loud while waving her arms around.
She did not have to yell so loudly, though. The sound traveled perfectly from her mouth and into Levi's ear within seconds because of the lake.
He began speed walking towards Hange.
There was a voice in the background yelling something about how Hange was doing great so far. It sounded like Nifa, but Levi was too busy to check. He needed to get to Hange first.
Levi watched as Hange accidentally drops her oar into the lake when she moved back to row some more. Hange, scrambling to retrieve it, said an "I got it!" in her normal voice until she accidentally tripped and fell into the lake.
She was not wearing a life jacket on either.
Levi stopped speed walking and ran towards Hange. Once he was close to the lake, and without thinking, he took off his shirt and dove into the lake to save Hange.
---
Also a few minutes ago
"I know Hange is a smart girl and all, but wouldn't it have been easier to just walk around the lake to confess to Levi?" Nanaba asked aloud as she took a sip from her water bottle. Some sweat dripped down her brow from being out in the sun all day.
Nanaba sat on the steps of her cabin (Alces) while her campers was out and about. Her cabin was next to Hange's, and she even helped Hange prepare before her big love confession.
Rico, who walked by earlier to see why Nanaba was staring at the lake, sighed from Nanaba's right. "Love does weird things to you, Nanaba. Remember when Mike confessed to you last year? I wonder why do people from this camp confess while using the lakes, though?" She questioned while recalling that one rumor and how Mike confessed to Nanaba by bringing her to a picnic near Lake Maria.
Nanaba laughed and turned to Rico while wiggling her eyebrows. She grinned like the Cheshire Cat. "So when are you going to get a canoe across the lake and confess to Ian?" she said while gesturing to Hange, who was still singing to Levi.
Rico blushed and elbowed Nanaba's side. "Shut up! I do not like Ian like that! Mind your own business!" She turned away from Nanaba and crossed her arms in front of her chest. Her face was still red.
Nanaba turned back to watch Hange sing and rests her chin on the palm of her hand. Her elbow was resting on her thigh. "Mhmm. Go tell yourself that."
"I think it's a cute idea. It would be very boring and tiresome to walk around the lake just to confess. Serenading on the lake is much more unique." Nifa, counselor of Tamias cabin, piped up from Nanaba's left. She had heard Hange's singing nearby and was curious about what was going on. She sat next to Nanaba. It seemed like Nanaba knew what was going on.
Ah. It seemed that Nifa also joined in on the watch party, Nanaba thought. Now a good chunk of the camp was curious about Hange's business.
The trio watched as Hange rowed closer to Levi. This time, some of the campers from the other cabins watched Hange from Levi's side. They did not stand close but a far distance instead. They were curious about what was going on and did not want to get too close to suffer from Levi's wrath.
They all watched as Levi stood up from his spot and began speed walking towards the lake. Meanwhile, Hange continued to sing her song.
Nifa brought her hands up to her face and cupped them around her mouth to amplify her voice.
"You're doing great, sweetie!"
Hange was doing great. Indeed, she was almost at her destination. All she had to do was pick up the oar and go back to rowing…
Until she accidentally dropped her oar, causing Levi to start running towards her.
They could not hear what Hange said, but they could assume she was trying to reassure Levi that she was ok and to retrieve the oar...until she misstepped and fell into the lake.
Oops.
Nanaba and Rico turned to Nifa with a shocked look. Nifa held her hands up in innocence.
"I swear. I did not mean or intend for all of that to happen."
"We have to help Hange!" Nanaba yelled. Both she and Rico stood up to try to help Hange but stopped by Nifa, grabbing the back of their shirts.
"What are you doing, Nifa?" Nanaba said with irritation. Nifa did not say anything but nodded her head towards the lake. She lets go of their shirts after they brought their attention to the lake too.
The girls watched as Levi took his shirt off and dove into the lake to save Hange.
Problem solved.
"Doesn't Levi know that Hange is a good swimmer?" Nifa asked from behind Nanaba.
Rico scoffed. "You tell me. I always have to train for the swimming competitions, but I can never beat her." Rico always dreaded when her cabin was put up against Hange’s. She usually placed at either second or third place. No one could outswim Hange, not even Levi.
They watched as Levi grabbed Hange, threw her over his shoulder, and made his way back to his cabin. The onlookers made a path for him because they were too scared to focus on Levi.
The girls sighed with relief. This was practically a typical day at Camp Paradis.
Nanaba turned to Rico and Nifa. "Anyone up for a snack at the dining hall?"
After everything they just saw, Rico and Nifa both nodded in agreement.
---
"Is the cabin empty?" Hange asked from behind the bathroom door. It has been an hour since the incident. Levi had dragged her into his cabin, and he threw her into his bathroom. He also gave her some of his extra set of clothes and demanded that she took a bath before she gets sick.
Each cabin has two bathrooms, so each camper only had to share with one person. Levi shoved Hange into his/Eren's bathroom while he took a shower in Jean/Connie's. Hange freshened up and clean, stood stationary behind the bathroom door. She practically smelled like Levi. From the soap, she used to the clothes she wore. They all smelled like the definition of clean.
"Yes." That was all Levi replied with a slightly irritated tone in his voice.
Hange groaned from behind the door and rested her forehead on the hardwood. That was the voice Levi would use when he was ready to lecture her. She leaned her head back and placed her hand on the doorknob. She took a deep breath as she opened the door and met Levi's expecting face. His eyebrows were furrowed slightly, he had his arms crossed over his chest, and he looked a bit irritated.
(Hange was thankful that he was dressed similarly to her and she did not walk out to see him shirtless)
She walked towards Levi, sitting on his bed. Each cabin is big enough for each camper to have a total of four beds. Each footstep was like a walk of shame for Hange. Yet, Levi did not say a word. He spoke up the moment she sat down next to him on the bed. The bed shifted down slightly from the extra weight.
"Hange, what were you thinking? You did not have a life jacket on, and you fell in the middle of the lake. You scared a lot of the camp and me. Be careful next time you pull something like that," He said while facing her, concern laced in his voice.
Hange rubbed the back of her neck nervously. She looked up to meet Levi's steel-gray eyes.
"I'm sorry I worried everyone, Levi. I will be more considerate next time. Although…"
Hange began to chuckle to herself at the memory of Levi umping in to save her.
"You know I'm a good swimmer, right?" She placed her hand on Levi's shoulder and shook it slightly. "I would have made it back just fine-"
She stopped shaking his shoulder and sets it down on her lap. "I appreciate you umping in to save me, though." She said with a grin.
Suddenly, Hange raised her hands and leaned forward. She wrapped both of her arms around Levi's midsection and pulled him close to her body for a hug. She rested her head on his shoulder.
"Thank you, Levi."
Levi prayed that Hange could not feel his heart pounding against his chest or see him blush. His crush was close to him, for crying out loud!
He moved his arms to hug Hange back. He could feel nervousness rising up in his body along with his rapid heartbeat. This is it. He will confess to Hange now, and it does not matter if he gets rejected or not. She had to know, even if the song she sang was for someone else.
Levi leaned back from Hange, but he maintained the hug. Their faces were only a few inches away from each other.
"Hange, I have something to tell you. I need you to hear me out for a few minutes."
Hange nodded in agreement. "Ok…" she said with some uncertainness. She was unsure what he was going to say, and he gave her the most serious look on his face. He stared deeply into her amber-brown eyes.
"I appreciate you."
Huh?
Hange tilted her head in confusion. "Come again, Levi."
Levi looked away and sighs. Ok. That was not a rejection. He just has to change tactics to get it to Hange and hopefully not make it sound awkward. Levi had no experience with him confessing before. Other girls had confessed to him, but it was with material stuff. He wanted to use words for his confession.
Levi looked up again and stared into Hange's eyes again. "I want to dedicate my heart to you." Ok, now that sounded a bit too much.
Levi continued speaking anyway before he could change tactics again.
"I just want to say that I like you, Hange." He said sincerely. "I like listening to you talk, your personality, and your humor. I want you to at least be aware before we go to college and if the song from earlier is not for me."
Levi stared at Hange's face and attempted to read her emotions. Her eyes widened with shock, and her mouth was open in a small o. She stayed that way for a few minutes until the shock became full-on laughter.
Hange was laughing at him.
She let go of Levi and threw her head back. Her face was full of delight.
Usually, Levi would not mind listening to her laugh, even if it was at him. It was one of his favorite sounds to her, not that she needed to know that.
However, this is different from before. Levi frowned but did not make a move to stand up. He needed an explanation for this.
Hange turned back to Levi after she calmed down a bit. "Levi." She said. Her voice had some laughter evident in her voice. Here comes the rejection.
"The song was for you."
What?
Levi only blinked in response. Hange began to swing her legs a bit and placed her hands on her lap. "I wanted to confess to you today, and I thought what serenade you from the lake." She explained.
"I guess I was too excited to miss some necessities. Sorry about that, by the way."
She leaned forward to grab Levi's right hand. Levi made no move to remove it, so she interlocks their fingers together.
"But you beat me to it, huh, Levi?" She chuckled while staring down fondly at their hands.
Levi stared at their hands as well. He could not believe this. They were going to confess to each other on the same day.
Suddenly, Levi leaned forward to rest his head on Hange's shoulder. "Will you be my girlfriend, Hange?"
Hange turned to Levi in shock. Levi moves his head to meet her eyes. The eyes he adores.
Hange smiled at him. Her eyes glowed with happiness. "Yes." That was enough for Levi.
He let go of Hange's hand and placed it on the back of her head. He grasped her hair a bit but not rough at all.
Hange watched as Levi leaned closer.
And closer.
And closer.
Until they were a few centimeters apart. The cabin was quiet except for their breathing. Both of their breaths fanned each other's faces.
"What are you doing, Levi?" Hange asked with a hint of curiosity. She made no move to pull away, so Levi took it as a sign to explain his motives.
"Can I kiss you?"
Hange blinked a few times before nodding her head to give Levi an ok.
Levi closed the gap between the two. It was a short and sweet kiss. There heat or desire to move their relationship up to another base.
They leaned back from the kiss with a happy look on their faces. Hange had a goofy grin while Levi smiled at her. It was rare to see Levi smile, and Hange was delighted to be a source for it.
"That was my first kiss," Hange confessed.
"Mine too." Levi chuckled. His hand was still gripping Hange's hair. He kept his grip as he elated back on the bed, bringing Hange down with him.
"Levi!" Hange exclaimed and sat up on her elbows. Who knew Levi was so bold?
"What if the other campers see us?" She said with some nervousness.
Levi rolled his eyes and lightly flicked Hange's forehead. "We are not having sex. I'm just tired, and I want to take a nap with my girlfriend."
He smirked. "Besides, I sent my campers over to Furlan's cabin. They won't come back until we have to go to bed."
Hange looked at him suspiciously while rubbing her forehead from earlier. "You promise?"
Levi nodded his head. "I promise."
Hange let out a small yawn. It has been a long day. She moved so she can lay her body to the spot next to Levi. Meanwhile, Levi turned over to face his nightstand, so he can set his alarm for them to wake up before dinner. He then picked up the blanket and placed it over both of their bodies. They were both facing the wall.
"Sleep well, Hange." He spooned her from behind and placed a small kiss on the back of her neck.
Hange smiled before getting comfortable in Levi's arms. "Goodnight, Levi."
The two spent a few minutes in silence and tranquility. Levi was happy to spend some quality time with his dream girl.
“Hey, Levi. Use that dedicate your heart line for when you propose.” He can hear the smugness in Hange’s voice.
He lightly kicked her on the shin. “Go to sleep.”
Hange could not see it, but Levi had a small smile on his face as he drifted off to sleep.
---
"I KNEW IT!!!" Nanaba yelled while standing up and pointing at the new couple walking into the dining hall holding hands. Erwin and Mike were startled by the sudden outburst. Furlan was smirking victoriously. His friend, Isabel, rolled her eyes at Furlan's smirk.
(Petra, Nifa, Moblit, and Rico were sitting at another table noticed the couple at the doorway. Nifa and Petra squealed in delight while Rico and Moblit smiled. The other girls from Hange's cabin squealed as well since they secretly shipped her with Levi).
Levi and Hange stopped walking. Hange started laughing behind her free hand, and Levi gave Nanaba an annoyed look.
Everyone stopped eating to turn to the source of the sound. Nanaba, noticing the multiple stares, rubs the back of her head nervously and laughs. "Sorry about that, go back to eating."
Furlan smirked as Levi and Hange passed by the usual table to get some food. He turned to Isabel sitting next to him. He stuck his hand out to her and moved his fingers in pay-up motion. "Pay up, Isabel. I won the bet."
Isabel stuck out her tongue at him. "If only Levi-Bro waited until the end of the summer. I would have won 50 bucks," she said while reluctantly handing Furlan 50 dollars.
Furlan hummed in content and pocketed the money in his shorts pocket. "Appreciate the business, Izzy. Now, are you willing to put down money for when Levi and Hange get married?" He said and held his hand out for a handshake to seal the agreement.
Isabel smirked and shook Furlan's hand in agreement. "You're on, Furlan. We'll discuss this later." She turned away from Furlan and smiles at the couple coming to their table. "The new couple is coming here now."
"Hi everyone!" Hange beamed after sitting down across from Furlan. Levi sat between Hange and Nanaba.
Everyone at the table said hi in reply.
Erwin pushed his finish tray slightly on the table in front of him and turned to Hange. "Congratulations, Hange and Levi. I hope the two of you have a happy relationship."
Nanaba and Mike smiled as well. "Congrats, Levi," said Nanaba.
"Congrats, Hange," said Mike.
"I knew you could do it. Levi-Bro! You have had a crush on Hange since forever!" Isabel exaggerated the word forever.
Levi blushed, and Furlan smirked. He turned to Hange. "Say, Hange. How many kids-"
"Don't even finish that sentence, Furlan." Levi threatened, yet his face was still red from blushing. He did not want Furlan to bring up the conversation about children from earlier today.
Hange laughed from the interaction and leaned down to kiss Levi on the cheek. "Don't worry about him, Furlan." She leaned down towards his ear.
"We can discuss the number of children we would have later." She winked at him and went back to eating as if nothing happened between the two. Meanwhile, Levi opened his mouth slightly in shock. He did not expect that out of Hange! Mike, Erwin, and Furlan chuckled at this.
Nanaba (who luckily did not hear Hange) still noticed Levi's shock. "Levi, close your mouth before some flies get in." she lectured to him in a motherly tone. This broke Levi out of his shock, and he goes back to focus on eating.
Everyone continued talking and sharing any recent stories they had. Suddenly, Hange slammed her hands down on the table, shocking everyone at the table. She turned to face Levi.
"Levi! Where is Mikasa? We need to tell her about us!" She exclaimed and shook Levi's shoulders.
Oh, right. Hange would want to tell Mikasa about her new relationship since she saw Mikasa as family. Plus, they will most likely be an actual family in the future. Levi raised his hands up to grab Hange's and set it down on her lap. "Stop, Hange. She's probably eating with Eren and Armin. We can tell her later."
Erwin raised his eyebrows in confusion. "Actually, Levi. I haven't seen Mikasa ever since she showed up with Sasha and Historia. Isabel put her utensils down and joined in on the conversation.
"I saw her with Eren and Armin an hour before dinner. They were sitting together deep in a conversation…"
Levi looked up to scan his eyes across the dining hall. He noticed Armin's blonde hair sitting at his regular table with his friends. He sat at a table with Jean, Connie, Sasha, Ymir, and Historia. He noted how Armin noticed his stare and looked away as if he was scared of him.
Mikasa and Eren were nowhere in sight.
---
Bonus:
"Be careful, Eren!"
Mikasa said while raising her voice slightly. She did not want to yell, or else she might alert anyone in the forest.
"I'll be fine, Mikasa," he assured her. "I can feel it! Bigfoot is nearby." He said with excitement.
"This is the last time, Eren. We are already missing dinner, and who knows if Armin can stall for us any longer. Levi is going hunt us down. Plus, I don't want to end up in Camp Marley again."
Mikasa and Eren only had a few snacks on them. Mikasa managed to slip into her cabin to grab some from Sasha's secret stash. Sasha and Historia were busy watching the chaos at the lake.
"I promise, Mikasa. Thank you for coming with me. I don't think I can do this alone." He turned back to Mikasa with a big grin. He was also recalling the time he was searching in the forest to find Bigfoot and ran into an angry Hange instead,
Mikasa smiled in return, and the two continued their search to find Bigfoot.
Meanwhile, the two did not realize that they passed a figure watching them from a reasonable distance away behind a tree. Its eyes watched as the two humans continued their search. It slipped away sneakily into the darkness. It went away from Camp Paradis and towards the forest near Camp Marley instead.

Some quick notes:
I kinda based this fic off of one scene from Pitch Perfect 2 and other summer camp-related movies I watched (I don't have much knowledge of summer camp 😭)
Cabin names are based on scientific names of different animals
I hc Hange being good at swimming. Let's face it. If she can swim down a river while carrying a 65 kg man, and miraculously not get any gunshot wounds (not counting a spike in adrenaline to live); I'm sure Hange is a good swimmer.

Note
EreMika - my OTP, enough said. I won't explain but after season 1 - scarf scene, I know I'll ship them forever. I can say I am a mix of founder Ymir and Louise when it comes to shipping them. ✨I don't just ship these two, I luxury cruise them ✨
LeviHan - Something about this ship makes me young again. Being the 'delinquent' back in school and hopelessly in love with the smartest guy in school. Imagine a Levi who's top of his class and Hanji (the creative troublemaker) being forced to sit together for Levi to rub off of Hanji. Yes, I am projecting.
AruAni - Again, my soft spot. Armin saw Annie like no one could. Armin's main issue is he always has a hard time making decision/choices. No one persuaded him but he decided on Annie. Annie's wound is similar to Mikasa, it's about not having a place in the world so she pushes everyone away then she was stuck in a crystal just like how she always wanted and Armin never gave up on her...
Niccolo x Sasha - Niccolo being this uptight guy and Sasha being Sasha... It just makes sense to me. Yes, Niccolo will lowkey mother Sasha 😂 (and Connie because they are twins) but Sasha will always being out that innocent joy and kindness out of him that was never encouraged with the world he lives in. City boy getting in touch with nature. 🦀🥘🦐🍲🍕
JeanPiku - Sexual. tension. Yes, I have no legitimate argument why but damn! Horse and cart! Perfect! The height difference! The way they are both smart but both prioritizes being loyal to their comrades... I am gone for them.
YumiHisu - "I'm always at your side!" Historia would have come with Ymir in Marley if she asks her to. What more do I ask for? 😂 Ymir might be like that but Historia is definitely the one who's in charge, the small queen is top and is kinkier then Ymir 😂😁 I can't/don't know how to write them but I def ship them. Like Eren, Historia needs/wants someone who'll love her so so much while she plays it cool in public but behind closed doors? she's more intense. Historia needed Ymir's validation, attention and love
*wheezing* I LUXURY CRUISE THEM LMAO
your lil notes are hilarious!
Levihan is such an epic dynamic imo, i wanna portray it more in bylb. I see them as fuckbuddies, companions, best friends - I’m on the fence about them being lovers. Maybe bc rivetra has that really special place in my heart.
aruani makes me so incoherent I can’t possibly add on to the goodness above
Nicosasha - OMG!! I love your headcanons! Imagine Sasha taking him out camping, and he’s like - what’ll we eat. Sasha’s just like “we’ll hunt! We’ll fish! We’ll live like the wild!” And he’s just stunned bc his idea of a vacation is a resort with a spa and fine dining lmao. But also he’d be such a sweet lover, I just know it. Feed her strawberries with cream on her mouth, and lick it off her lips. Savour her body until he eats her out with such grace it’s only her that’s thrashing around like a beast. Ugh I just want this man to cook for me
I AGREE ABOUT EVERYTHING YUMIHISU 😭❤️ I love Historia so much, she’d be so needy yet kind of pushy, you know. And Ymir likes to tease her sometimes but she’s just so whipped, she’ll do anything for her. I loved the little snippets I wrote of them in high school years, and I’d really love to actually bring life to the yh draft I have in my docs. It’s about drug dealer Ymir and party girl / socialite hisu.

Slow Dancing In The Dark
Characters: Hanji Zoe x Levi Ackerman
Genre: Romance/Fluff
Rating: T
Here’s part 1 of my gift for  LeviHan Eggscghange 2020 :) I hope my dear giftee enjoys this.Part 2 will be out in a couple of days!
You can also read this on AO3
 @levihanweek
Working for Sina Industries has always been a life long dream for Hange. As a wide eyed child, she would always watch live broadcasts of their space launches and tell herself one day shes gonna be there.Standing in mission control smiling as she watched one of her creations get sent to a different planet.Armed with a degree & a determined heart, she applied as an engineer. You could imagine her disappointment when she was crammed into an 8x12 cubicle in the basement to design and develop circuitry which their boss greedily takes credit for all the damned time. She's pretty good at keeping a front that shes a pretty chill with all her bosses bullshit but she finally lost it when he started harassing a temp.Hange bravely spoke out and got into a heated argument with her boss. She got supended for a week after that.
It took almost six months before she was promoted to another 8x12 cubicle.Only this time, shes moving up on the infamous 17th floor. The place where they flung all the adept yet problematic employees. Its pretty much the same, shitty boss, intricate work but now on a higher pay grade and a lot more hearsay about her reputation. Its not so bad though, despite the lack of recognition and grueling work hours she met a handful of wonderful coworkers who shared the same pain.
Mike and Nanaba were sort of the required stable couple of the group. She met them a month after the big promotion when she caught them making out in the copy room. She's probably standing there for an entire minute awkwardly making fake cough noises to alert them of her presence.Enter Erwin Smith,he casually strode up by the couple and grabbed the box of printer ink Hange desperately needed. He's like freaking Captian America & Superman combined except he has a mind of a slytherin. Not that it was a bad thing.
And then there's Levi,The crabbiest member of their little group,Mr.I-look-very-angry-and-irritated-all-the-time-but-inside-lies-a-total-softy.He’s a clean freak who befittingly,is a sanitary engineer.Rumors say that Levi had tendencies with violence and had to be sent at 17th floor for precaution. There used to be a time when they didn't get along. She'd been very welcoming towards him but hes always been aloof and cold. She didn't mind it at first, but after a while it kinda got into her nerves.Til that christmas party back in 2017,where she had a few drinks and sort of confessed that she liked him and it really bummed her out that he didn't feel the same way.For the first time, she saw something other than disinterest and irritation on his face...she saw confusion. He asked her what shes on about, then reminded her that he just made her chocolates for valentines day when she won't shut up about craving something sweet. He doesn't do that kind of shit just for anyone and after that, hange was pretty sure they've become best friends.
Their friendship was forged in companionship in misery but as time passed they became her second family.
One of the things that Hange looked forward to is hanging out with them every Friday night at a dive bar a few blocks away from their office where they get shit faced and let off some steam from their work.Hange was preoccupied with the jukebox when Mike arrived with his arm slung over Levi dragging the smaller man into her space.”You'll never guess what happened.”The man announced and before she could answer the man screamed."Someone got asked for a date!"
"Ohoho!Whos the lucky girl?"Nanaba came out of nowhere carrying two mai tais and handed one to Hange before heading over at Mike's side.
"Petra Ral."Erwin chimed cooly while sipping a glass of scotch. His blond hair still laid perfectly even after a long tiring day at work.
"From PR?Holy shit!Good job!"Hange said slapping Levi’s shoulder hurting her hand in the process. The man didn’t even falter from where he stood, all he did was stare straight at her before scowling."It's not a big deal.”He said settling his gaze on his side.
Hange smiled.
He’s shy.Levi Ackerman is actually being shy about getting asked out by an adorable strawberry blonde colleague.Isn’t that precious? She’d never seen him like that before.Heaven knows how much she wanted to tease him about his situation but she can clearly tell by the way he clenched his jaw and the deep creases on the space between his brows that if she says anything,he'd run straight to the wall to escape, cartoon style.
Mike started telling the story and Levi sneakily started edging towards the exit. Before the questions came flooding in,Levi was already gone.
“I think I should follow him.“Hange announced.
"Try to convince him to go out with Ral!"Mike shouted which prompted Erwin to take his drink away from him."I think you had enough."
"Goodluck!"Nanaba raised her drink at her. Before helping Erwin keep Mike's drink away from him.
#
Hange found Levi brooding on the sidewalk while smoking.”Can I get a light?”She asked.
“Its cold.”He said, which also translates to she should go back inside or she’ll catch a cold.Levi’s nice like that,it took everything in her to hold back and not make a snide comment. He alwas hated it when he gets called out for being considerate.
“So Petra Ral huh?”She started.
“I don’t wanna talk about it.”
“We don’t have to,If you don’t want to.”Hange calmly took a box of cigarettes from her pocket and stood a bit closer to him.
“Good.”He said before tossing her his lighter.
Hange bit her lower lip to stifle a smile and Levi was already armed with his grumpy face. He's getting a little agitated. She let the silence drag on for a while as she started to giddily shift from where she stood.Unable to contain her curiosity.
“But its Petra Ral...The Petra Ral!Our company sweetheart.”She exploded.
“I barely know her.”
"Isn’t that what dating is for?!Besides,She probably just needs to get dicked down."Hange said casually."Go for it!Have a little fun. What’s there to lose?"
"Yeah well...I don't think I could."Levi started bouncing his leg.Is he nervous?Agitated? Both? It seemed like he's trying to say something.
“Levi, you know we wont judge you if you’re gay right? You don’t have to hide it from us.”
“Why would I be hiding that if I was?”
“Then what are you nervous for?"
“I’m not nervous...I.."Levi paused as if he's considering if he should tell her."I haven’t...I...”
“You're acting like you've never been out on a date."she said.
Levi visibly stiffened and averted her curious eyes. From where she sat,she could see how levi clenched his jaw and feel him hold his breath. No?It cant be...
"Oh.Its been a while for you huh?like 6 months?"She tried to take a wild stab but was met with silence.Hange sobered."You’ve never been on a date before?"she repeated a little louder than she meant to and not soon after she found Levi's hand over her mouth.
“You wanna scream that a little louder?“
“EVER?!”She peeled his hand off her face and asked.
“Tch.I dont need this.“Levi rolled his eyes and started leaving but hange caught his arm.
"Hey!I'm sorry.I didn't know.Its nothing to be embarrassed about.Its just,its a little uncommon you know.I'm really sorry.I didn't mean to be a dick.”
She assumed that its not because of the lack of people who wanna date with him.Believe it or not, this whole quiet mysterious guy persona is a total chick magnet. She even had several people from the office ask about him every once in a while. So what happened? Is it trauma? Is he aromantic?Holy shit! How could she be so insensitive?
“Stop looking at me like that.”He frowned.Snapping her out of her thoughts.
“Sorry,I was just thinking...”
“Don’t think of anything.Just mind your own business and let me be.”
“What kind of friend would I be if I let you be?”
“A good one.And stop drawing conclusions!I can practically see the thoughts up your head.I'm not anything I just...dont know how.”
“why are you so intent on giving up?!I thought you like her!”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Oh please Ackerman! How can you not? She's the perfect mix of adorable, kind, fiesty and beautiful...she’s perfect for you!”
"What do you want me to do?"he asked,in his how can I make you shut up tone.
"What if I help you?You could...I dont know...practice with me?I could help you with the whole dating thing!"Levi looked at her as if she grew another head.Honestly shes just happy he didn't look disgusted with her proposal. He gave her a once over before pinching the bridge of his nose. She knows this maneuver. Its the what-have-i-gotten-my-self-into or holy-shit-am-I-actually-considering-this move.“Are you sure about this?”He asked.
Hange made a gesture of crossing over her heart and raising her right hand up and levi scrunched his brows together.
“Quit downplaying this.I’m serious.”
“I wont offer it if my not 100% I’m serious. The last guy I went out with was a total disappointment and Petra deserves better than that. You know she helped me last Christmas...”
“Yeah, yeah she helped you change your tire."He supplied, refraning hange from tellong the story again.
“And in exchange I'm gonna help you be more fun and well rounded for your date! It's the circle of life!”Hange enthusiastically smiled.
“Alright.How do we start?”Levi asked.
"Ask Petra to reschedule your date for next week,Then we can take the whole week to practice."
#
The harsh sun bore down on Levi as if reminding him never to indulge Hange with her antics again.Aparrently, she found Petra's online journal and identified that she had two dream dates. One is a carnival date (which explains why he is standing in line for cotton candy out in the middle of the goddamn afternoon.) and the other was spending an evening at a local jazz bar in the city.
Levi doesn't know how she successfully lured him out.You see,he liked his comfort zone and for some unknown reason Hange always challenged him to take a step out of the little box he created around him.And although there are times when she proved that taking a risk was worth it,Levi never really appreciated getting stuck in very shitty situations like now.He doesn't know how she seemed fine with all these shitty conditions.Maybe because she's been busy talking about her new droid remodel.
"Hey Levi are you listening to me?"
"Yes."He said exasperated.
"What was I saying then?"She folded her arms and raised her brows, challenging him.
"You're planning to replace fiberglass with aerogel as insulator on your next shitty droid."He said which earned a bright smile from her.Tch!He rolled his eyes at that and stepped forward after the couple infront of them was served with an unreasonable amount of cotton candy.
"I'll get the giant sunshine surprise."Hange said and the vendor then started shaping the cotton candy into a big daisy.Hange looks absolutely delighted.
"That will be 50 dollars."The vendor said offering his open palm to him which prompted him to turn towards Hange."Oh!let me get my wallet!"Hange started going though her bag and for some reason he felt chills run through him.WheN he raised his head,he noticed that people around them started glaring at him.Oh great he forgot! He's in a fake date.He assumed people still think he's obligated to pay.Tch.So fucking primitive.Although he's never the guy who gave much fuck about what others think,he didnt want people to think Hanges being mistreated.Begrudgingly,he paid for the goddamn cotton candy.Hange took that opportunity to talk about how expenses should be handled during dates, she personally likes going dutch but immediately started going on about some studies that says women generally like it when the males carries out the expenses.
Hange's like a battery that never runs out of energy. She wanted to ride every possible attraction from the carnival!Beads of sweat are starting to form on her forehead but she never seem to notice,he started leading her to a park bench to rest for a bit.He appreciated how much she prepared. She was very keen on citing the psychology articles and some magazines she read to help him be better at dating. He doesn't even know why would anyone even exert that much effort for him.
She really is something.
He pulled out his handkerchief out of his pocket and started gently dabbing it on her forehead.
She smiled.
#
Hange didn't really need to teach him much.Despite the seemingly abrasive qualities Levi possess, the man is a very courteous guy.He said thank you, please and treated the park employees with respect.Shes pretty sure he wouldnt have much trouble impressing a girl."You never told me why you've never been out on a date."She started.
"I was never asked."Levi shrugged as if telling her its no big deal.Hange was shocked at his honesty but appreciated his straight answer.
"Based on my observations today I'd say all those girls that didnt ask you out missed out on a good time."
"Tch!Quit bullshitting me."
"It's true! You diligently listened to my stories, joined me riding all the  and most importantly, you bought me an unreasonably overprized cotton candy."
Levi let out a soft chuckle at that and Hange immediately panicked. This is the first time she ever made him chuckle and goddamn it was glorious. It's like his features lit up and made him look years younger. She had to bit her lower lip to sort of calm her wild heartbeat. They stayed seated on the bench for a while when Levi surprisingly asked her to walk around some more.As they started to amble along the park,an idea popped on her head.
#
Her hands gently crept on his wrist and made way to cup his hand "what the..."He glared at their joined hands, but didn't find the need to pull away."You're sticky."He remarked
"Does sticky hands really matter if youre holding hands with your crush?"She asked. He kept his eyes on her and he saw blush creep up to her face."I-I mean not me...I meant Petra...which is basically me because im her placeholder at the moment and..."
"Hange."
"Hm?"
"Shut up."He slipped his Fingers against the gaps of hers and continued wandering around the park.

Superhero and villain levihan au
Something like the kind of relationship batman and catwoman have
Hair wet and towel loosely wrapped around his hips, Levi walked out of the bathroomm, pleasantly relaxed. At last, he had the night all for himself. At last, he'd receive a chance at getting eight hours of uninterrupted sleep.
However, that feeling all but evaporated as he saw his phone screen light up.
A curse mixed with groan escaped him as he read a new text message from Erwin, his boss. He ordered Levi to investigate a potential break in. Levi wanted to smash his head against a wall.
Jesus, why did villains always attack the city after midnight? Why couldn't they execute their evil plans during a daytime? Why couldn't these assholes work from nine to five? It'd make Levi's life as the only decent superhero in this city so much easier. It'd probably cure him from insomnia as well.
But insomnia or not, the city was in need of his help, he couldn't abandon his duty like that.
Muttering another curse, he headed to the bedroom to grab his equipment and put on his ridiculously tight suit.
Just another day - well, night - of being a superhero.
___
As soon as Erwin sent him the location, which was showing signs of suspicious activity, Levi knew he was in a hell of trouble. And as he set foot on the grounds of a chemical factory, he was one hundred percent sure that he was fucked.
There wasn't a lot of villains and criminals in their city. Only some of them were actually evil and able to pose a threat, most of them were idiots that went went running as soon as they saw him. All of them - in Levi's humble opinion - were annoying motherfuckers who kept fucking up his sleep schedule.
And out of that bunch, there was only one villain who was good enough to be considered Levi's rival. A person who possessed quick reflexes and precise movements to keep him on his toes in a physical battle, and had a brain so big that Levi didn't have a single chance at winning in a game of wits.
And despite no shortage of talents, the same person was careless and idiotic enough to start humming a cheerful song while rummaging through the compartments of the lab, hidden in the depths of the factory.
It seemed like for once, Levi had the upper hand. He decided not to waste a perfect opportunity, and stepped into the light, fully intent on scaring the shit out of the unlucky burglar.
"Four-eyes," he spoke in a low, bored voice, anticipating to see the villain jump and, hopefully, let out a loud scream. "Turn around, with your hands up in the air. You're arrested."
Unfortunately... his speech didn't seem to have the desired effect.
Four-eyes tensed, but didn't jump or scream. They slowly turned around, flashing him a smile. "Ah, Mr. Ackerman, it's always nice to see you."
At the mention of his real name, Levi's eye began to twitch. To the general public, to every fan or enemy alike, he was humanity's strongest, not Levi Ackerman. But, of course, the person in front of him was way too smart and had nose long enough to poke it into his personal business.
However... four-eyes wasn't the one holding all the cards. Levi knew a thing or two about them too.
"Pack your shit and fuck off, Hange," he said with a tired sigh, "You're ruining my sleep schedule."
"You don't have one," Hange snorted. Before Levi could point that the reason for his fucked up sleeping habits was standing right in front of him, Hange moved, coming to stand at his side. They leaned in, soft hair brushing against his cheek. "Mm, you smell so good. Did you take a shower just for me, Levi?"
With a low grunt, he pushed laughing Hange away. "I took a shower because I was going to go to bed earlier tonight. How do you even know that I did that? Are you spying on me now, you pervert?"
"I'm simply observant," Hange replied. "I can feel a strong scent of soap coming from you, I can see that your suit hugs you just a little tighter than usual, meaning that you probably put it immediately after you came out of the shower. And..." they laughed again, noticing his transfixed expression. Their hand reached out to his head, softly patting it. "Your hair is still wet, silly. And since it isn't raining outside... it doesn't take a genius to put two and two."
Fuck. Levi hated when Hange did that, reminded him just how smart they were and how easy they could fool him. Moments like this always made him wonder why Hange used that superpower of theirs exclusively to tease him.
He sighed and took off his mask, dropping every pretence that he was going to do anything to try and stop Hange. "So?" he approached the desk they were searching through, looking at what they've already managed to find. "What the fuck are you doing here?"
"Eh?" Hange sounded disturbingly disappointed. "You're not going to even try to fight with me? You don't want to wrestle, don't have the righteous desire to pin me to the floor or up against the wall, press a knife to my throat and whisper threats into my ear?"
Levi shook his head, desperately trying to ignore Hange and their words. He knew what they were doing - seducing him. It was not going to work, not tonight.
"We can wrestle later, after you tell me what the fuck are you doing here."
"And what about pinning me to the floor or against the wall?"
Levi shook his head. Sometimes, super villains were no more mature than a middle schooler. Then again, in that department, superheroes didn't fare much better. "If you stop fooling around and explain what's going, I'd let you do the pinning."
"Oh, now that is certainly exciting," they muttered, pressing their chest to his back. Hange left a kiss on the naked skin of his neck, flaring up all of Levi's nerve endings. Just one kiss and Levi was ready to change his mind and first wrestle, then talk, but Hange let go of him, before he could act on that desire.
When they came to stand next to him, no signs of mischief or flirt were present. Hange's expression was one of pure focus, teeth biting into the lower lip. "Do you by any chance know who Zeke Yeager is?"
Of course, he knew, how could he not? Zeke Yeager was one of the wealthiest people in the city, one of the most influential businessman and one of the biggest pricks Levi had a pleasure to shake hands with.
And judging by Hange's demeanor, they knew all about him as well. So Levi skipped all the details, and settled on, "Zeke Yeager? The same guy who owns the factory you've decided to break in, four-eyes?"
"I didn't do it on a whim, Levi."
Unfortunately, Levi knew that too. Hange never did something without a clear intent in mind, even if sometimes that intent was simply a desire to tease and fuck (quite literally) with him.
This time, the serious expression and lack of awful pick-up lines meant that Hange didn't come here to cause mischief. And the only other option left was...
Fuck. Something bad was going on. Something that turned Hange from a sort-of villain to a straight up vigilante.
The night was getting better and better with each second.
"I've noticed something a while ago," Hange started to explain. "Ran some tests, did some research, and now I'm hundred percent sure - there is something in the water."
Something in the water? Levi didn't like the sound of it, not a single bit.
"I've investigated all possible sources, and they all led me here, to Yeager's factory. I think he's poisoning the water to-"
"Increase the sales of his pharmaceutical company?"
Levi hated how logical and fucking evil his own guess sounded. Of course, the idiots, who dressed in silly costumes and broke inside banks and factories just to flirt with him, weren't the true villains. That honor belonged to people Levi couldn't fight, the ones who were completely untouchable, and on some days, seemed to be undefeatable as well.
"Do you have any proof?"
Hange motioned to the glowing computer screen. "Was in the middle of getting it, when you caught me."
Levi massaged the bridge of his nose, willing away an incoming migraine. "And?"
"It's bad," came Hange's somber reply.
Of course, it was. Why was he expecting something different?
"Okay," he pushed the hair back from his face. "Alright. Give me that evidence, I'll send it to Erwin-"
"No, Levi," said Hange, unusually serious. "Sorry, but I can't let you take care of this. Not alone."
Levi raised an eyebrow. "Who said I'm going to be alone? Or you're so against of working by my side?"
"Oh," in the unnatural lighting of the lab, Hange's eyes glinted almost maniacally, reminding Levi that their other nickname - the mad scientist - was as much deserved as the one they've chosen themself, humanity's smartest. "You want to join forces with the dark side, my dear hero? Want me to work from the bottom, while you work from the top and then meet up in the middle? So what you're proposing is... collaboration?"
Levi scoffed. Collaboration. They weren't hip-hop artists. "I propose a partnership."
"A partnership?" Hange pulled their lips into a smirk, warm breath caressing Levi's cheek. "You want to be my partner, humanity's strongest?"
"Temporarily," he curtly replied.
"A partnership all the same," Hange shrugged. Then, pressed their chest against his, lips hovering above his. "I think we should seal the deal."
"Not the worst of your ideas," he agreed, raising to his tiptoes to meet Hange in the middle.
They were interrupted just as their lips touched.
"Humanity's strongest and smartest? So the rumors were true?"
Levi shuddered, as he recognised the voice of Pieck Finger, Zeke's personal assistant.
With Hange's arms still wrapped around him, he turned, staring at the barrel of a gun. Ah, nothing (except the idiot, who thought that wearing a three-piece suit with a ridiculous bowtie to a break-in was a good decision - both from logical and fashion standpoint) made his heart pump harder.
"Pieck!" Hange exclaimed, with a wide smile on their face. "My dear, it's been so long! How is work?"
Pieck made a face. "Awful, considering you're here. By the way, you have thirty seconds before I start shooting."
"Ah, yes, I don't think I want that. An injury would add so many complications. Goodbye, Pieck!" Hange opened the nearest window, their grappling hook at the ready. Before they disappeared into the night, they pulled Levi closer, giving him a kiss that Pieck had interrupted. "I'll be waiting in your apartment, you've promised a sparring match."
Then, they were gone, and Levi was left alone with Pieck.
"Jesus, what a weirdo," Pieck ran a hand through her hair. "They even had you wrapped around their finger."
Levi decide not to dignify that quip with a response. He tilted his head to the side, studying the woman in front of him. "Why didn't you shoot?" he asked, at last. "Are you a friend of-" Hange, he almost said but quickly caught himself. He wasn't sure if Hange revealed their true identity to Pieck or not; better to be safe than sorry. "Of four-eyes?"
"It's not that," Pieck replied. "My motivation is much simpler."
"And that is?"
"I don't want to live in a city, ruined by Zeke's handmade plague. So if you can stop him," she hid her gun and showed Levi a smile. "I'll be much obliged."
"Will do everything in my power," Levi assured, then corrected himself. "We both will."
"I'm counting on you," she was already turning to the door, when she added, "Oh, and, humanity's strongest? Please do try to do something with the fashion sense of our smartest. That bowtie is making my eyes burn."
"Can't promise anything, but I'll try all the same."
"Please do. And keep them safe, they are a friend."
Without another word, Pieck left. Wasting no more than a second to process the bewildering conversation with Zeke's assistant, Levi hurried to flee from the factory as well.
After all, a sparring match was waiting for him.

Theme: Jealousy, Christmas
Rating: PG
send your requests/anons here x
He’s been staring at what seems to be wind for the fifth hour now, sure he was used to her being all giddy, fast and abnormally hyper, but today was supposed to be special. Today was supposed to be their  first celebration of Christmas and his birthday as a couple, but instead, she had dragged him out for last minute Christmas shopping, insisting that she had to buy at least one gift for every member of the family.
The fact that they we’re spending two special occasions not to his liking is just the start of his annoyance. The mall being crowded is another, with him getting bumped with either people or huge shopping bags. His height was really a disadvantage when it came to times like this, and he somehow wished Santa or whoever would just gift him height for Christmas or his birthday.
Next was the way that she seemed to care for anybody else but him. He wasn’t hiding his annoyed expression, and yet, she kept going on her list and mention names whose some, he doesn’t even know. He was starting to think that she had forgotten it was his birthday, that she was starting to forget him. As much as he doesn’t want to admit it, he was jealous of how her attention wasn’t on him that day.
“Oh my lord! I have to run back to the grocery! I forgot Tim and Tammy’s ginger bread houses!” she rambled, long legs striding towards the halls fast enough that he was having a hard time to catch up.
“Haven’t you gotten them toys already?” he sneered, remembering that she already bought her twin cousins a pair of bicycles, which he doesn’t know if it will still fit in his Ford pick up truck.
“Yes I did! But they have specially requested that I buy the ginger bread” he only groaned as she continued to walk, pace speeding up and so did he.
“Why don’t you just buy them the bread at the Boulangerie near our damn flat” he complained as he grabbed the sleeve of her black colored coat as soon as he got the chance.
“Actually, that’s a great idea!” she turned around and faced him. “Oh but first! I have to pick up something from the novelty store and the jewelry shop1 I had already called them earlier and I do hope my order is ready”
He couldn’t help it but give a more dragged expression, his lips curving deeper into a frown and his eyebrows meeting in frustration.
“I’m sorry” she cooed, tilting her head to the side. “You can wait in the car if you’d like, this will be over I promise”
He only let out a sigh and fished for the keys in his pocket before crossing her path and making his way towards the parking. After all, he’s still got a whole cart to fit at the back of the truck that he can pick up at the baggage area.
An hour and a half later, she finally arrived with more than what she told him she was going to get in her arms. He had not bothered to turn off the heater of the car and slammed the door shut as he went out to help her. The scowl on his face never went away as he snatched the brown bags away from her arms and literally threw them at the backseat of the car, being it the only empty space.
“Hey Levi, are you mad at me?” he only groaned as a response as he revved the engine to life and drove away from his now most hated place in town.
He had only put his gaze on the road, as if warning her that he was furious and not in the mood to talk, while she fidgeted with her fingers from his peripheral vision. She is finally sensing that he didn’t like what they just did.
“Levi I-“ he cut her off.
“I wasted more than six hours of my day today because of your generosity towards other people” he started, saying the words as calm as possible, but she knew that he was most impatient already when he spoke like that. “Stop looking constipated in the passenger seat, you’re distracting me” he hissed.
“Well I’d like to laugh at your humor, but I certainly don’t want to piss you off more” he looked at her with some sort of regret as he saw her fighting back a laugh and biting her lip. He knew she was such a softie when he gets mad, and all he can ever do is sigh and let his anger die down. At least, around her, calming down is as easy as counting one to ten. “Can we still stop by the bakery? If its okay that is?”
He gave her a small as he turned to the corner of the street and stopped by. He watched her as she walked out and returned with a bag full of goods in a time record of less than five minutes and resumed to driving towards their now shared flat. They both used to live in apartments that we’re parallel to each other, but when they started dating, they decided to ‘rent-to-pay’ a small but cozy home near the outskirts of town.
Strangely, he had found Mike and Nanaba’s shared car outside their humble abode and the other couple smiling crazily at their porch. He only gave hanji a confused look while she had already jumped out of the truck with him quickly in a tow as soon as he turned off the engine.
“Thanks for the help guys” she whispered to the two before giving both a hug.
“No problem! I hope you two enjoy” Nanaba waved goodbye as she and Mike drove out of their sight.
Hanji said no words as she led him towards their house with her hand clasped with his. Truly he didn’t expect what he saw inside, something really magical, and sweet.
Their living room smells like lavenders, the scent he liked the most, as candles lit up almost every corner. A small Indian tent was set up at the middle, with pillows and blankets arranged inside as well as a laptop and speaker that readily had movies in them. The center table which was now moved temporarily to the side had plates ready in them, and his tea brewing set already fixed with a mix of jasmine and chamomile.
Hanji had brought out a couple bags from the car when he wasn’t looking and she had already set up some food at the table including store bought fettuccini and roast chicken breast, a bottle of wine, chips, and milk and cookies.
“Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday!” she started. “I’m sorry for dragging you out today much longer than expected, but Mike and Nanaba weren’t able to finish up what I sketched until then. I had to stall even if I knew you were already angry. I hope it didn’t ruin your day”
He walked towards her and boldly grabbed her hair, leveling her vision with his.
“This is for pissing me off and making me jealous today” he said while pulling her closer which only made her giggle. “And this-“ he gave her a sweet peck on the lips “is for all your efforts today. My Christmas and birthday are god damn perfect”
“I’m glad you liked it!” she beamed, placing her arms above his shoulders as they sat down the pillow padded floor.
“But why the milk and cookies?” he asked her.
“Because I found out you secretly run to the Boulangerie as you call it, after work to buy milk and cookies, then you stash it at the back of the plates” he turned red upon her revelation. “Don’t worry! I find your secret favorite quite cute” she laughed.
“But still, thank you, for being the best damn gift I could ask for today” he nuzzled unto her neck.
“My pleasure” she responded.

Hi my beloved Fanmoose! I hope you are feeling great today ❤❤
I was wondering something, so here I am asking you because Im really curious!
I hope Im not the only one who does this.. When I read some fanfic, I imagine how the characters would look like in real life while Im reading (I dont imagine them as an anime style) and I sometimes imagine them as some famous actors/actresses who look alike (for example, I imagine Erwin Smith as Chris Evans)
So here my question!! If you do this... How do you imagine Hange in real life? From an actress/actor? a realistic drawing you saw? and if so, can you tell me their name/drawing and why?
When I read some Hanji Zoe fics, I imagine Hange as Kayla mallari (You probably know her! she's the Hanji cosplayer who danced talk dirty to me, AND SHE'S AMAZING! and when I saw her tutorial, the way she acted, her personality, and how much she looked alike as Hange I was like- 'ok this is Hange in person change my mind.'
What about you? And Levi? Which actor do you think he looks like him?
oh!!! what an interesting question!!!
whenever i think of levihan and try to imagine them i think of arts like that one? yk a good mix between realistic and anime style with all lh characterics present!
and omg yes, kayla mallari is a perfect hange!! as for levi..... in my head, he resembles dane dehaan a lot? he doesn't look exactly like i picture levi, but he has that tired, sad vibe that reminds me of levi😅
thanks for the question, it was a very interesting one!!! i hope you have a good day as well!!
