Percy: why the hades is Hera not constantly cussing Zeus out? She’s the goddess of marriage and he constantly cheats on her.
Annabeth: The last time Hera stood up to Zeus directly he hung her from the sky.
Percy: that’s bullshit. From now on every time I insult Zeus it’s on her behalf.

If I ever write a no powers au it is going to be a who dunnit about Zeus’s death because literally everyone has a motive and now since everyone is mortal everyone has the means to murder him.
Murder suspects
Athena- Believes that Zeus is running the company inefficiently and if he just listened to her everything would be fixed. Once tried to take over the Olympian Holdings. Her alibi is completely air tight like she knew this would happen…
Hades- Zeus once tried to harm his lover. Rival business owners.
Posideon- Extreme brotherly rivalry and also rival business owner.
Apollo- Recently disowned son who has taken his disowning suspiciously well… has the medical know how to pull off some interesting stuff. Second most likely to be framed.
Hera- We all know her motive. And you know what she deserves to kill him at this point
Luke- trying to destroy Olympian Holdings for its shady business practices and has his own complicated ties to the Olympian family.
Ares- Recently written out of the will for doing something stupid. Has a gun at all times. Most likely to be framed.
Hermes- Zeus’s aid for a ridiculous amount of time with no career advancement. Has info on the other suspects that he is very willing to share. Has recently been in hot water with Zeus over the actions of his son Luke.
Thalia and Jason Grace- Zeus’s bastard children who are set to inherit a lot of his money.
I have no idea who the detective would be since there isn’t an unbiased demigod with the intelligence to deal with this mess. Tempted to have the detectives be Percy and Annabeth. Will Solace would also make a great medical consultant.
Who do you think would do it?

How I think Meg would react to the other 11 Olympians:
This was originally on Discord in a convo between Chronic and me :3
Zeus: Would have zero (0) respect for him. I think she would be able to read between the lines and see that Zeus & Apollo have a...complicated relationship, perhaps enough to figure out the parallels between them and her & Nero.
Hera: Honestly I don't really think Meg would be that intimated by her? Maybe put off a little by her cold exterior but if she sees how Apollo acts around her she'd probably just follow his lead and dunk on her with him
Poseidon: ??? Zero clue what would happen here.
Demeter: agree with u Meg would be a little wary of Demeter.
Athena: Perhaps a bit intimated? Athena's a very reserved person who keeps her cards close to her chest, while Meg prefers to get to the point and start stabbing problems away. Athena's whole deal may make Meg wary of her, perhaps even a bit distrustful because of how secretive she is.
Ares: I wonder if she would be equally affected by Ares's whole "fight aura" as Percy is so she may get a little aggressive with him, but Ares would probably find it funny though i would like to direct his attention to the last time a twelve year old got aggressive with him lol
Hephaestus: I think they'd be pretty chill. Probably don't interact much because Hephaestus isn't really a people-person and Meg's kinda reserved too. Maybe they'd bond over some type of machine-plant invention that makes Apollo go oh no
Aphrodite: Hmm...I think she may be slightly disturbed by Aphrodite's whole "I play with your love life because I like you so much!" thing. She'd take one look and go "you fucked up Apollo's life because you like him?????" Meg's blunt personality probably wouldn't mix the best with Aphrodite's guile and subtly.
Hermes: She wouldn't like him lol summons the wall lizard I just don't see Meg really liking Hermes all that much? Though I don't know why? Just the vibe I get from her
Artemis: Mutual inner jealousy beloved haha. I think Meg would be a bit jealous/resentful of Artemis because of how much she takes Apollo for granted. Meanwhile, Artemis is jealous that Apollo "prefers" Meg's and Athena's company over hers even though her company usually involves her badgering him...tragic twins beloved. She's a huntress - she's territorial. When someone encroaches on her territory, she gets growly.
Dionysus: She'd like him lol. As seen in ToN, Dionysus likes messing with Apollo (in a good way) and she likes messing with Apollo (in a good way). They'd get along like a house on fire and Apollo fears this alliance (though is secretly pleased)

Angelina Jolie as Queen of the Greek Gods and Olympus, Hera.
Hera, the goddess of Women, Family, Marriage, Familial Love (as well as cows) and the Patron of Women, should be played by none other than Angelina Jolie!!!

Hear me out, but what if the Greek goddess Hera actually met a mortal man who at first was her friend, but they were in a secret relationship, and the man made her feel special in a way Zeus never did and loved and worshiped her the way a husband should.
But then Zeus found out about it and, like the hypocritical, a$$hole he is, he killed the mortal man, and Hera became pregnant with his child. After she gave birth to the child, she hid them away from Zeus and placed them in an orphanage.
(I know that hera would never betray Zeus realistically. This is just a fanfic idea.
IT'S NOT REAL!!!!!!! And plus, I hate Zeus with a passion so. )
But anyway, what is your story for this child of Hera?

HC Hera always despised Annabeth because,as a goddess, she could see that Annabeth would become a toxic partner; and since Hera is in a toxic relationship herself, she just could not pretend to like her

What if... Leo Became a God?
Okay, but what if Leo literally burnt away his mortality during Blood of Olympus while fighting Gaea?
Now, before you go ahead and bring out the sledgehammers and pitchforks, or think I'm just doing it as a joke, this is a possibility that I'm being very sincere in considering this. And it is a possibility, because this isn't the first time this has happened in myth - Heracles did it first. So if burning himself alive in a freaking pyre was all Heracles needed to ascend to godhood, Leo literally burning himself alive using his own flames to kill a Primordial should be more than enough. Plus there's the whole Hera mimicking what Demeter did with Demophon, so we could say he's nearly there. Him burning himself alive is just that final push he needed to become a god, burning away his own mortality.
I mean, think about it. The prophecy always said, an oath to hold with a final breath, but it never meant Leo had to get close to perma-dead. Riordan did it just fine with the Physician's Cure, having Leo achieve apotheosis to do so would also be a way to circumvent the loophole in the prophecy. The phrasing is vague in that 'final breath' could be interpreted in multiple ways, such as 'one's final breath as a mortal.'
Oh the irony. We all thought Leo was going to die, then bam! Boy ends up with a permanent lease on life by literally burning himself alive, a lot more power than he could ever imagine getting, and a lot of freedom he never had as a mortal. He's lucky demigod #3 to ascend to godhood without divine patronage, right after Heracles and Dionysus. When he returns to Camp Half-Blood, it isn't on Festus, but him straight-up materializing in the middle of his funeral. Nearly every Greek and Roman but especially Nico mentally screams WTF as they realize that the funeral hasn't even ended, and Leo's shroud is basically his first offering.
His friends reactions to seeing him - and realizing the truth of what he has become. Jason and Piper are in shock, realizing that their friend is now going to stay young and will eventually watch them die and have to move on. Frank and Hazel are bewildered, because Leo's plan to burn himself alive to defeat Gaea had gone horribly right and now they have to deal with the fact that they had a hand in Leo's apotheosis. Percy and Annabeth are bewildered and shocked at the fact that Leo just straight up became a god - and the now very real reality that one of them may eventually do so (cough cough Percy).
When Leo goes to free Calypso, she literally has to process the fact that the boy she may have liked is now a god - the very beings she despises for imprisoning her in Ogygia. That eventually Leo may most likely move on to someone else and dump her. This crashes especially hard when she gets out of that island and realizes that she's become mortal. The dynamics between them have completely changed and Leo isn't aware of it, and Calypso doesn't know how to process that.
Hera is the one to explain exactly is going on to Leo, because she knows she had a hand in Leo becoming a god. She owes him at the very least to guide Leo in his new reality, and both the positive and negative benefits that are associated with ascension to godhood. Hephaestus doesn't know how to handle Leo now basically being just there forever, because none of his children ever became gods unless they were the children of him and a god. Nemesis marvels at the irony of Leo becoming a god while stealing Gaea's life, noting that this was a rather marvelous way that Leo rained his vengeance upon her. Apollo's just friendly because now he has a new friend to be with him in Olympus.
But this ending - for Heroes of Olympus as a whole - would be more poetic and a parallel to The Last Olympian. Percy was satisfied with who he was, protecting the world to save those he loves and he's happy with that. Leo is one who ascends to the heavens in his feat to avenge those he loves and destroying those who tried to destroy him.
But... there's one thing they have in common.
Leo's first act as a god isn't to rescue Calypso. It isn't to appear before the Seven and let them know he's alive. Leo appears in the Underworld and requests for only a single soul to be allowed a second chance at life. The single soul that he loves the most.
Esperanza Valdez is brought out of the underworld, and Leo freezes. The boy on fire who became a god turns back into a boy of eight years old as he finally gets back the mom he lost so long ago as he hugs her as best as he can. He hadn't expected to be a god. He didn't know what would happen next. But this - this is one of the few times things actually feel right. They've both been given a new lease on life - one longer than the other, but they can finally keep moving forward.

One of my favorite pjo headcanons:
Luke Castellan and Hera murdered Beryl Grace.
Luke’s in California on his way back to camp half blood after failing his quest, and he sees Beryl Grace.
This is the woman who made life hell for his best friend. She’s the reason Thalia had to run away, she’s the reason Thalia suffered so much, if she had done things differently Thalia might still be alive. Luke, already angered by the failure that was his quest, is enraged that this woman gets to live while Thalia is dead. So he cuts her brakes or does something else to cause the car accident that Beryl died in.
And if Hera, who already hates any woman who catches Zeus’s attention, sees this happen and fixes the car to make it seem like Beryl was the one to cause the accident, then it’s not like anyone ever needs to know. After all, she never directly interacted with the mortals, Luke did that, she just fixed the car and maybe put an encouraging whisper in Luke’s ear. Who really knows?

The gods ranked by how well they would take being mortal
Apollo: actually the ideal god to go through this. He has been mortal twice before and is pretty great socially as well. He was able to recruit three of the Emperors minions right from under them. He was able to adjust to being mortal pretty fast and doesn’t even consider his trials to be a punishment by the end. 9/10 was here to make friends and succeed.
Artemis: has a team of hunters to help her. Probably has the best overall relationship with mortals. However she will not take the loss of power well at all. 8/10 will endure well but won’t enjoy
Hermes: Hell yeah gods can change and it would be excellent for him to get some character development. He is a trickster as well which is going really help the sudden lack of power 7/10 growth isn’t going to be an easy or fun process
Hera: Hera is a very interesting character and has a lot of depth. Total jerk but she has her reasons and a lot of room for growth. Honestly she is so high because everyone below here I can easily see dying at some point. 5/10 evil stepmom for the win
Athena: look Athena might be wise but she is also very very prideful. Decaying memories, failing talents, an utter certainty that she is right, Zeus’s favorite falling so low. This is not a good combination. 3/10 your flaws can now be fatal
Hephaestus: A very chill and neutral god here. He will definitely kill himself in a mechanical accident of some kind or another. Could have an arc about learning social skills and talking to your kids. 1/10 I don’t trust his inventions not to kill him.
Ares: he lost to a twelve year old as a god. If he doesn’t die he could have a nice arc about learning to trust others but let’s be real he is going to pick a fight he very much can’t win. 0/10 dead meat.
Dionysus: look Dionysus might have been mortal once but he does not deal with his fathers punishments well. The main reason he is this low is because he has been without alcohol for so long the first thing he is going to do is get drunk. -10/10 Will die of alcohol poisoning.
Aphrodite: clearly has a lot of issues with seeing mortals as people rather than love stories. Will not take being a meat sack well at all. -11/10 I don’t trust her survival skills
Posideon: listen a significant portion of the trials of Apollo is about facing and learning from your mistakes. Myth posideon has made a lot of mistakes like seriously if you thought Apollo and the Sybil were bad posideon is something else… perhaps I am being a bit harsh here but being totally mortal means that he will have no powers and the only skill he has exhibited was fishing. He will go from being the king of the sea to being a mortal and weaker than his son. -12/10 good luck making up for past mistakes.
Zeus: too many enemies and a very bad decision maker. If he was mortal literally everyone would want to kill him. -100/10 not going to survive a day.

Heyy —
Do you have any head canons or thoughts on Apollo’s relationship with Athena and Hera? I’ve always thought that Apollo was Athena’s favorite brother and that Apollo was Hera’s favorite stepson (LMAOO if she had to pick ofc).
(tbh that’s probably bias speaking for the Hera part BUT SEE THE VISION OKAY. In a happier world, she would totally mother him at every chance she could get.)
Okay so I DO actually have a post on Athena & Apollo already! You can find it here :3
AND AS FOR HERA-
Let us begin.
I DO IN FACT BELIEVE APOLLO IS HERA'S FAVORITE STEPSON. LIKE HEAR ME OUT.
It is MYTH CANON that she thinks he has fine as fuck hair. like his hair is worth 10,000 dollars Regina George style. she called him up to laugh at zeus as he stole away with Europa in the form of a bull and was like 'HOW FUNNY WOULD IT BE IF YOU WENT AND SHEPHERDED YOUR DAD RIGHT NOW. TREAT HIM LIKE THE BULL HE IS.' and in that same conversation calls Apollo 'my fine archer'.
like. that alone is pretty convincing evidence that while she's not like. FOND of him, he is probably her favorite stepchild XD
definitely her favorite twin. because she literally beat the shit out of Artemis during the Trojan War with her own bow. and called her a hussy. poor artemis </3
but anyway. post-toa would be the start of being on the mend i think. to an extent.
i affectionately call them 'stepduo' and that's actually my main tag for them hehe
and there's no doubt in my mind that when Revolution comes...they are on the same side :)

The thing is, even though Hera is a bitch, she was literally a 100% right about everything when she showed up for the first time in BOTL. She wanted Annabeth and Percy to succeed; she knew best she could do to safe Olympus was to help them- and she actually did. She was right about going to Hephaestos for help and also about how to navigate in the labyrinth: She knew Percy knew the answer, deep down, and that they had to figure this out themselves. Why is Hera not likeable? Not because she isn't right about most things, but because she lacks the kindness to treat everyone with an open heart; because she cares about results and not people's feelings; because she doesn't waste a second thought on people who aren't important to her
