man, adverse possession is so weird. "this isn't my land, and its rightful owner hasn't given me permission to use it, but no one said I couldn't use it, so now after x years of use or occupation [in some states, only if I know it's not my land] it belongs to me now. 😊" like in some limited cases I get it but it feels absolutely wild to me that under some circumstances you could intentionally build a fence sliiiightly over the property line and if they don't notice and assume goodwill you can just take your neighbor's shit.
