Bonds of friendship. Chapter 2 Page 16
finally the last page of my pokemon comic! It was fun to take this old comic and update it, the change is incredible and how much I was able to practice with it, now I am going to dedicate myself to making better comics I hope you liked Lizandro's story, maybe one day I'll continue it but for now I want to draw some Sonic comics

Farther From Each Other Than Ever Before - Chapter 2
Description: Emmet has one chance: Fix the future and Dialga will help him find Ingo. If that wasn't the deal of a lifetime, then Emmet didn't know what was going to be better.
He didn't realize the Future wasn't repairable where - or rather when - he was placed. He finds help in a lone Grovyle who inhabits the bleak landscape. This is his once chance to get his brother back, He is Emmet and he refuses to fail.
Ratings: Mature (Strong Language, Minor blood and injury description)
Warnings: Strong Language, Anxiety
Chapter Select: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 -5 - 6 - 7
Time didn’t matter in this world, But Emmet’s internal clock told him it had been about a month since he began to travel with Grovyle. Grovyle was quite a caring soul when you dig past the paranoia and vigilance that came from living in this landscape. And Emmet found out quite early on why vigilance was needed. A few days ago, They were traveling through a mountain range when Grovyle stopped Emmet at the entrance of a cave.
“Why the sudden delay?” Emmet raised an eyebrow at the grass type.
“Vyle Grovyle gro.” Grovyle seemingly explained.
“I am Emmet. I cannot understand.”
Grovyle frowned before pulling out the map once more. He (Emmet had found that Grovyle liked He/Him pronouns after experimenting in the first few weeks) pointed to the mountain range and Emmet was surprised to find that the location had become labeled in clear Unovan. Mount Bristle, it read. Emmet raised his eyebrows with surprise, He hadn’t expected this development.
“Verrrry interesting.” Emmet remarked. Grovyle sighed, this clearly wasn’t what he was trying to convey. He grabbed Emmet’s hand and dragged him forward. The unexpected touch wasn’t as bad as when he had no gloves on, but he quickly retracted his hand and ripped it from Grovyle’s claws. Grovyle looked surprised and confused as he made a questioning noise.
“I am fine. I am Emmet.” Emmet took a deep breath, “If you insist on dragging me, Please do not touch me. You may grab my coat but please be gentle. I am more than capable of following you.”
Grovyle seemed to understand and instead waved a claw in a signal of ‘follow me’, Only grabbing Emmet’s coat once he got closer. As soon as the two stepped inside, the exit closed and plunged the two into darkness. But it was only a few brief moments as Grovyle took out one of the crystalline orbs and activated it. It illuminated the nearby surroundings and lit the ground below them.
“Amazing! As my brother would say, Bravo Grovyle!” Emmet applauded the grass type, who blushed with pride.
With that, the two ventured forward into the cave.
Emmet soon found out that this wasn’t your typical cave. The floors sprawled and changed, Pokemon came out of seemingly nowhere and attacked the two. The cave was mostly occupied by Ghost types but the stray rock type would attack. However, Grovyle didn’t seem phased by the attacks and instead focused on protecting Emmet. It didn’t take long before they found themselves on the other side of the mountain, but Emmet had never experienced anything like that in his life.
Several of the ghosts had followed them through the caves, Sableye to be exact. Grovyle seemed to be terrified by them, refusing to attack and instead opting to drag Emmet (Now by the coat as per his request) away from them and hiding. Grovyle never seemed to elaborate, more like he couldn’t, but made it clear his priority was keeping the two safe.
“... Have these been following you this entire time?” Emmet asked quietly as they hid.
Grovyle nodded shakily, quietly pulling out his pad of paper once more. He sketched what looked to be a gear on the piece of paper and continued to illustrate what looked to be the Sableye attempting to catch Grovyle. It took a while to piece together, but Emmet had a rough idea of what happened.
“The Sableye are attempting to catch you… because of a gear?”
Grovyle made a sideway motion with his hand, reaching back into his satchel and pulling out a small book (When did Grovyle acquire this?). He flipped to a bookmarked page and passed it to Emmet, who was surprised he could read it. He couldn’t read the notes in the margins, written in a strange pokemon language, however. The page described the gear as Time Gear, Something that was documented to keep time flowing in certain areas of the world. It correlated to something called the “Temporal Tower”, A tower rumored to be where the ruler of all time existed.
“Is this that tower I arrived at?” Emmet wondered aloud, “Dialga is the ruler of time so therefore…”
Grovyle took the book away, placing it back in the satchel. Emmet didn’t know what side was to be trusted, But ultimately decided to trust Grovyle for the meantime. If time had already stopped then Grovyle was investigating, right? He decided to voice his concerns, And Grovyle nodded to confirm he was looking into this phenomenon.
“I see. So the Sableye are trying to stop you from reaching your destination. Do you know where these time gears are located?”
Grovyle shakes his head. Emmet hummed with fascination. This must be what Dialga wants from him then. If he finds these time gears and figures out what’s wrong with them, then he must be able to fix the Dialga of this time and… Ingo would be back.
“Right then, Let’s find these time gears and restore them to proper working condition, Shall we?”
Grovyle seemed surprised for a moment but nodded with a smile.
And that’s how they found themselves in the clearing of a massive forest. This forest had a similar phenomenon to Mt. Bristle, the sprawling expanses of forests turning into a twisting maze that seemed to have no exit. But they seemed to find themselves finally at the center, and finally safe enough from the pursuing Sableye to set up a camp. Their fire had to be small due to the large expanses of trees (fire safety and all that), so Emmet tasked himself with collecting the firewood from small twigs fallen to the ground while Grovyle set up a place for them to sleep. He hummed a small tune as he bent down to pick up the first twig, but stopped as his vision blurred. His head began to pound as he fell backwards, his vision continuing to waiver. Grovyle noticed, rushing to help the Subway Boss up, but Emmet didn’t notice much more than that.
In front of him sat a bright glowing blue gear, the world around him had regained its color and wind blew through the trees. He could hear the calls of Starly and Pidgey and it made him almost cry. He could almost smell the fresh dew from the leaves, it must have just rained.
Then he came back to reality.
Tears were streaming down his face as Grovyle held him up. He barely could hear any of Grovyle’s cries as his heart beat in his ears. Was that a vision? What did he just see??
“I-I…” He heaved, “I am Emmet… I saw something I-I cannot describe.”
Grovyle patiently escorted him to the beds of leaves he carefully crafted, before fishing Emmet’s canteen of water out from his bag. Emmet drank greedily, calming his pounding heart before speaking again.
“I am Emmet. I saw a floating gear. I believe it is the time gear. But it’s not here anymore.” He spoke carefully, as to not excite the grass type.
“Grovyle? Vyle vyle Gro??” Grovyle spoke quickly, his tone just as anxious as Emmet felt.
“If you’re asking where it is, I don’t know its current location. The surroundings were the same so… perhaps it once belonged here?”
Grovyle frowned, pondering the implications of Emmet’s vision. Emmet just wanted to know why the hell he was even having vision.
“This isn’t an ability I possessed before…” Emmet spoke quietly, breaking Grovyle from his thoughts, “I don’t understand.”
Grovyle frowned before pointing to Emmet’s hand, The one the Sigil was imprinted on.
“Did it glow? Even under my glove?” Emmet questioned.
Grovyle nodded, a questioning look in his eyes.
“I have the same question. Is this another one of Dialga’s blessings?” He muttered.
The two stood in quiet contemplation for a while, until Grovyle broke the silence to pick up firewood.
“Right. A brief rest stop will do us good. We can continue these tracks of thought later.” Emmet agreed.
The two swapped tasks, Emmet prepared a snack for the two (An apple split in half while he prepared sliced oran berries for the fire) while Grovyle picked up twigs for the fire. Emmet’s mind still wandered to the vision. He didn’t even know what had triggered it in the first place. All he did was bend down and grab a twig, but he had grabbed many twigs in the forest. Why was it this one in particular? It must have been the area, If this was truly where the time gear had once rested.
Emmet took out the knife he had made out of some materials found in Mt. Bristle (A fang from some pokemon tied onto a sturdy piece of wood he had found earlier) and began to chop the oran berries. He had found meticulous tasks like this did good in calming his mind, although he was never the chef out of the two twins. That was Ingo’s job, even if neither were particularly good at cooking. At least what Ingo made was edible. Emmet would do the shopping, as his sense of detail was good for picking out ingredients for cheap.
He had just begun to skewer the berry slices when Grovyle came back with the firewood. The pokemon handed over the firestarter tools (A piece of a flint-like rock that Emmet didn’t recognize and a piece of steel which Emmet suspected came from a Steelix), and stood back. Emmet could understand why Grovyle was more than happy to hand over the fire starting job, as he witnessed Grovyle end up with many a burn from their first few weeks traveling together.
He hit the rocks together, it took a few tries to get a spark, and ignited the dry material surrounding the firepit they had built. Once the fire was going, Grovyle took the berries over, staking the sticks into the ground.
There was a lot to figure out about Emmet’s new abilities, but for now the Subway Boss decided that now wasn’t the time. Grovyle gestured to Emmet to rest, The Subway Boss nodded with thanks and lied on the bed of leaves. The leaves weren’t the most comfortable, Emmet longed for his bed at home still, but it was better than nothing.
Emmet had a dream as he slept. He was back at home, Ingo by his side. Ingo was talking about something, Emmet had zoned out as he stroked Galvantula.
“I’m sorry.” Emmet had said out of the blue.
Ingo tilted his head. “Why? Emmet, You didn’t do anything.”
“I lost you. I couldn’t find you.” Emmet tried to control his grip but he gently squeezed Galvantula, who didn’t seem to mind.
“Emmet. You didn’t lose me.” Ingo sighed, the perpetual frown turning slightly at the corners, “I’m just… on my own adventure. So are you, Aren’t you?”
Emmet glanced up at Ingo. He couldn’t see Ingo’s eyes past his hat. “I… Yes. I am. But It’s to find you, Dialga prom-”
Ingo put a hand on Emmet’s, one of the only people who he didn’t mind unasked contact from, “Emmet. I’ll come back eventually. Do what you need for yourself and save the world. I’ll wait for you, Just like you waited for me.”
Emmet held back bitter sobs. It wasn’t fair. It just… wasn’t fair…
“You should probably wake up now, The food’s getting burnt and I know how much you hate burnt food.” Ingo teased.
“Wake up..?” Emmet tried to say.
His eyes snapped open, wet and burning from tears. The starless sky greeted him from the trees. That’s right, He’s not at home. He’s in the future. Ingo’s in the past.
They’ve never been farther from each other in all their lives.
Emmet couldn’t contain the tears anymore. He curled up into a tight ball and sobbed.
Why was this happening to them?

Lo-Fi Beats to Polish Orbs to
Image description: Two pixel art animations of Grovyle from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. The first shows a dimly lit room with rain falling outside, while Grovyle sits next to a tree stump, slowly polishing an orb by lantern light. A Totodile sleeps in a bed of hay, and a Cubone is staring into the dark forest outside the window.
The second animation is a close-up of the same Grovyle, polishing the orb with a contemplative expression in a shot that parallels the Lo-Fi Girl, occasionally stopping to get a better look at the progress.

So you know how evolution isn’t a guaranteed indicator of a Pokémon’s age, as evidenced by that one episode with the really old Treecko?
Tumblr media
Applying this concept to the world of PMD yields some hilarious implications. Especially when you apply it in a post-credits PMD2 AU where the Future Trio have set up shop in the present, and we get to see Dusknoir have a crisis when he realizes he’s been hunting down a tween and a college student for the past who-knows-how-long.

TFW you realize the duo of fugitives you’ve tracked across space and time are not stupidly immature, they’re just babies
