Remember that time when Stanley tried to have a villain arc, but The Narrator shut that down and decided to have one instead?
Good times.

(Honestly I think Stanley would just refer to them as 'It'. No name, just 'It'. Idk though.) (Also my question is are they actually the original Narrator or an anomaly?) (And I love it when you infodump in tags please keep doing it /gen) -[𝟺𝟹𝟸]
i could see that actually!
hmm. actually i'd say they're an anomaly. if we wanna go with a more malicious take they could 100% be an anomaly that took the opportunity to be something more than just a glitch slinking in the shadows

can you write exchanging looks in a crowded room with Jamie d pls
Tumblr media
PromptList
MasterList
It was a very crowded party with the whole Ducks team and some of their family. You knew Jamie wasn't the most talkative person sometimes, you usually needed to talk to him first to get him going. But now that you two were dating Jamie's shyness went away, he had no problem saying the first thing that was on his mind to you.
You were talking with some other people across the room from Jamie and every couple of minutes people would move and you'd get a good  look at Jamie. You Two would exchange glances until the next person walked by blocking your view
You were in a little group talking with Trevor Jamie and some others now. You and Jamie kept sneaking glances at each other throughout the night.
He was about three people away from you, but you didn't need to be beside him to understand him. One of the girls at the party who has been glued to Trevor’s side all night disused to speak up.
“You know what I always Thought was stupid in hockey” she started
Then Jamie looked at you as if to say “get ready for this”
You smiled trying to hide your laugh turning your Attention back to the girl
“Ok you gotta listen tho” she said “Why do they call it the  World Cup not everyone in the world is competing for it”
You laughed into your drink making some of it spill over, you looked over at Jamie who just did the same trying to hide his face behind this drink. When you both made eye contact you couldn't keep it in, you both quickly excused yourselves from the group and walked over to the kitchen.
You both held  onto each other laughing.
“I swear where does Trevor find these girl’s” Jamie laughed holding your arms for support
You had your forehead pressed against his chest laughing “I don't know!!” you responded "She thinks the word cup is the Stanley cup!"
“I know! And the fact you kept looking at me made it so much worse!” Jamie told
You removed your face from his chest to look at him “me!? You've been glancing at me all night! You're the one that made it worse!” you lightly slapped his chest
“Yea because we can Basically read each other fucking minds” he stated "That poor girl probably thinks we're laughing at her"
"Jamie we are"
"Yea but she doesnt have to know that"

La Fayette being a loving Father (Part 5)
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
The Marquis de La Fayette to Benjamin Franklin, September 17, 1782
Every Child of Mine that Comes to Light is a Small Addition to the Number of American Citizens. I Have the pleasure to Inform You that, tho' She Was But Seven Months Advanced, Mde. de Lafayette Has this Morning Become Mother of a Daughter Who However Delicate in Its Begining Enjoys a Perfect Health, and I Hope Will Soon Grow Equal to the Heartiest Children.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, p. 56-57p.
The Marquis de La Fayette to his wife Adrienne, March 27, 1783
For myself, I have given up all formalities and think only of my aunt. She talks to me about my affairs and about her own, and I tell her about you, our children, and America.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, p. 117.
The Marquis de La Fayette to his wife Adrienne, March 27, 1783
My aunt loves you tenderly, is very touched by your concern, and is writing you, I think, today. I have carried out your commissions, which are much appreciated. I gave her poor Anastasie’s portrait. Have one made of George and Virginie and also have a copy made of the little picture you have of me. If all that is ready, I can send it to her when I arrive. A thousand affectionate greetings to mama and my sisters. I embrace our children.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, p. 118.
The Marquis de La Fayette to George Washington, November 11, 1783
Mde. de Lafayette, My three Children are presented to You with the Most tender Homage to Yourself and Mrs. Washington. Your George is in perfect Health.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, p. 164.
(La Fayette generally end most letters to George Washington with remarks about his three children, if they are healthy and well, how and what they are doing. These remarks are far too numerous to include them here.)
The Marquis de La Fayette to George Washington, May 14, 1784
He Has taken Care, of A family picture, Including Mde. de Lafayette, our Children, and Myself which I Beg leave to Present to My dear General, as the likenessess of those Who are Most Affectionately devoted to Him.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, p. 216.
The Marquis de La Fayette to his wife Adrienne, June 25, 1784
Forgive me, my dear heart, for all my commissions, but it is nice to think that we are so closely united that our two interests are but one, that my affairs and yours are the same thing, and that everything, from our children to the last little tree at Chavaniac, is shared between us and everything affects us equally. Your Chavaniac trip, if it is possible, pleases me very much. I am very keen on George’s going, not only because of my aunt, but especially for his health, so that he will breathe the country air and run without hindrance, and especially without fear that he will do himself harm; and finally, I would like him to be raised without any fastidiousness, and I would rather know he is with the wolves of [illegible] than with the nice children at the Tuileries. Don’t you think as I do, my dear heart? I still have my other fantasy about the abbe’s costume, and I would rather he exchanged his little collar for a sword, because throughout my childhood I never stopped envying the luck of those who had a governor.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, pp. 230-231.
The Marquis de La Fayette to his wife Adrienne, June 28, 1784
Embrace our children with great tenderness.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, p. 231.
The Marquis de La Fayette to his wife Adrienne, August 13, 1784
Embrace our children a thousand and a thousand times.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, p. 236.
The Marquis de La Fayette to his wife Adrienne, August 20, 1784
That, my dear heart, is how we spend our time, and we often talk of you, of our children, and of anything that has to do with the family. (…) Embrace our dear children. Farewell, farewell, my dear heart. You know how much I love you.
Idzerda Stanley J. et al., editors, Lafayette in the Age of the American Revolution: Selected Letters and Papers, 1776–1790, Volume 5, January 4, 1782‑December 29, 1785, Cornell University Press, 1983, p. 237.
The Marquis de La Fayette to his wife Adrienne, October 10, 1784
I enclose a large packet of letters, and you will also find one for my aunt, for Gouvion, and for our dear Anastasie. (…) I am impatient to know how our children took to the country and their father's natal air.

Not Stanley Ending
I can't deny that The Stanley Parable has some depressing endings and the Narrator has some really heart wrenching lines in them, just thinking about the Zending or the Skip Button Ending makes me sad and I feel the urge to hug him really tightly.
Yet, his last few lines in the Not Stanley Ending for some reason really give me goosebumps.
"You need time to decide. Time to make sure your choice is correct. That is the best choice. That's alright. I'll wait for you to decide what's the right thing to do."
It's one of the few times he appears to be overwhelmed with a situation. Of course there are scenes where Stanley goes off track or breaks the game and he needs time to figure out how to continue, but there he appears annoyed, here he seems...utterly helpless cause Stanley doesn't react in any way. Because he is alone.
The good thing about the Skip button ending tho is that you skip forward and he simply tells you what he's been through while he was alone. In the Not Stanley Ending you basically hear him plead for Stanley to react on any way, make a choice, do anything to make him realize he isn't completely alone.
His voice basically changes from normal and formal, to confused and then somewhat desperate and sad.
For me this whole ending is also somewhat powerful cause the Narrator, who could be sassy or mean or mocking Stanley suddenly just appears...so small.
"Take as much time as you need."
Once again, the way he says this last line. He sounds so soft and tender, and the way you can almost hear the sad smile in his voice. There is also a glimpse of hope in his voice, the way he probably wants to believe Stanley will come back.
Im sorry but my poor heart

The Losers Club around Halloween/October
Bill - Bill would like Autumn for the colours and smell of the crisp Autumn leaves but Halloween would get his creative juices flowing, I feel like he'd look at people's costumes and create characters out of it. His house used to be one of those houses that use to get crazy with decorating but after Georgie died his parents did really see much fun in decorating, Bill still tried to decorate in memory of his little brother though. Every year Bill would try and get the losers to do a group costume but it'd never end up working out, most of the time he'd dress up as cool super hero's or even a zombie one year.
Stanley- I feel like Stan isn't too fond of Halloween but this man loves Autumn, he loves the cozy sweaters, he loves pumpkin themed food and drinks, he loves the colours of everything, and he loves the crunchy leaves that fall ( don't we all tho.) When it comes to decorating his house he doesn't do much, like maybe he'll put out some pumpkins he and the losers carved but that's it, he probably also have those fake fall leaves around his house. Assuming the other losers made him wear a Halloween costume I think he'd pick something like simple skull makeup and then put on a black cloak.
Richie- Richie is obsessed with Halloween, like he'll start talking about it in July, he loves the creepiness of it, he loves getting dressed up, he loves decorating, and most of all he loves the candy. When decorating he decks out his house, everywhere you look there's some sort or creepy decoration, he loves carving pumpkins and trying to make them look terrifying. His costumes vary from year to year, maybe one year he's something more creative like a super hero that wasn't heard of much, or like a famous artist ( like David Bowie), but other years he likes doing classics ( Werewolf, Vampire, Frankenstein.) Also he probably convinced Eddie to dress up as Sally while he dressed up as Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Eddie- Poor Eddie isn't able to enjoy Halloween as much as the other losers due to his Mother, every year she would take his candy away saying it's bad for his teeth or that it was poisoned. He would kinda decorate behind his Mom's back, he'd hide pumpkins that he and Richie carved outside and would steal some of Richie's decorations to put around. His costumes would be kinda bland, most years he'd go as those white sheet ghosts. As he got older though he'd break away from his Mom's control and get creative with his costumes. ( the more male version of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, a doctor, ect.)
Bev- She loves Halloween with her whole heart, I feel like her and Richie gang up and prank the others all the time, they'd also prank each other often. Her and Richie would probably have horror movie nights when ever she didn't want to be home with her Dad. She'd help Richie decorate his house since her Dad never really celebrated Halloween, she help him deck it out making sure it lived up to both their standards. Her costumes would always be horror movie characters ( kinda like how Max in stranger things had a Michael Myers costume.) I also feel like she and Ben would match costumes some years.
Ben- He would be like Stan and prefer the aspect of Autumn over Halloween but for other reasons. I feel like Ben would be creeped out by all the Halloween stuff but after meeting Bev and seeing how much she liked Halloween he'd slowly get more into it. His house wouldn't be scary decorated, he'd have cute friendly ghost decorations, and cute pumpkins. He likes Halloween when it's cozy and you get candy without being freaked out.
Mike- I feel like before meeting the losers Mike didn't celebrate Halloween since he was home schooled and he just didn't want to deal with the racism around town. After meeting the losers though he'd celebrate, dressing up with them, going trick r treating, decorating his house, and even sometimes watching horror movies with Bev and Richie. One year he had asked his Grandpa if he could turn the barn into a horror house for his friends and luckily his Grandpa agreed, that year started off a tradition of Mike making a haunted house/ barn for the losers every year and everyone loved it. Richie would help Mike with his costumes, he'd take him out shopping and try and find the coolest stuff for him to wear, Mike liked going as classic horror movie creatures, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, even Dracula.

Okay PJSK characters as Pirates of Penzance
Holy crap this is so dumb. The only reason I like this play in the first place is from seeing a highschool theater edition performed. All that makes it perfect for PJSK tho.
Sorry for poor grammar I typed this in like 10 minutes.
Ruth - Nene Kusanagi
Base summary is basically Frederick is apprenticed to the pirates, but he's free when he turns 21. On his 21st year, he leaves. Frederick realizes how Um-Piratey the pirates are and tries to get them back on course. They pirates do not oblige. Ruth tries to marry him bc she's in love and thinks she's young. Frederick doesn't believe her, and then sees a bunch of young women (daughters) and tries to marry them. None of them accept except for Mabel. This is because he is a pirate. The pirates return to marry the daughters, but then their father, who is a major General comes in to stop them. He escapes the pirates on the lie that he is an orphan, because the pirates don't hurt orphans (they themselves are)
The Major general worries about his lie. Meanwhile Frederic plans to charge the pirates using police. Ruth and the pirate King come to tell Frederick he's actually only 5 and a little because he was born on leap year and the document says "birthdays" He is still indebted to them and must return away from Mabel. He tells the pirates about the General's lie and then they charge. The pirates overpower the police and then the sergeant asks them to yield on the queen's name, to which they do. Ruth then reveals they are all noble men and they are allowed to marry the daughters.
Roles:
Pirate King - Rui Kamishiro
Mabel - Emu Ootori
Frederick - Tenma Tsukasa
(Yes WxS is the main four)
Samuel - Mizuki Akiyama
Major General Stanley - Akito Shinonome
Sergeant of Police - Toya Aoyagi
Queen Victoria - Hatsune Miku
John Brown - Kaito
Edith - Mafuyu Asahina
Kate - An Shiraishi
Isabel - Kohane Azusawa
Daughters -
- Ena Shinonome
- Shizuku Hinomori
- Haruka Kiritani
- Ichika Hoshino
- Minori Hanasato
Pirates -
- Shiho Hinomori
- Megurine Luka
- Airi Momoi
- Tenma Saki
- Kaito
- Kanade Yoisaki
- Meiko
- Kaito
Police -
- Kanade Yoisaki
- Meiko
- Honami Mochizuki
Guards -
- Kagamine Len
- Kagamine Rin
Okay so A bit on how I distributed the roles:
Rui Kamishiro makes perfect sense for pirate King I mean come on look at him. Also he is a tenor. Pirate is a bass but there are no frickin bases in this game.
Nene as Ruth because she feels kind of spindly, as well as having that kind of old lady but not really look Abt. Her.
Tsukasa as Frederic because Fred's the main character, Tsukasa is a star, but also because Tsukasa is meant to be handsome, he also low key seems like the type to yell "YOU BETRAYED ME". And emukasa. Emukasa is very important
Emu as Mabel because Emukasa. Also she could hit those high notes really well.
Mizuki is Samuel because I feel like they have that bond with Rui so the dynamics would be fun. Also Casting them as a pirate suits them well.
Major General Akito because I didn't know who else to put there and I planned on casting his sister as a daughter so it'd make sense for him to be sort of protective? Or at least not want her marrying a Pirate.
Sergeant of Police was Toya bc I just needed another male character.
Queen Victoria is Hatsune Miku BECAUSE OF COURSE SHE IS COME ON
John Brown as Kaito because I needed another male character and also he can show up in other scenes bc there are few as John Brown. I had him as a pirate because equal amount of pirates and daughters (not sure if that's fact just what I'm running with)
Edith - Mafuyu: Bookish daughter.
Kate - An: Tomboyish Daughter
Isabel - Kohane: Shy/Naive Daughter
Daughters are whatever is left over from who wouldn't be pirates, except for a few like Shizuku who I feel would be better suited. Ena is also there because Major General Akito and protectiveness.
Pirates are whoever fit. Shiho because she seems a little rough, Kaito because I needed another pirate, etc. The ones that are also police are bc I needed more Pirates.
Police - Law abiding/left overs but also not really.
Guards are Rin and Len. Pretty self explanatory.

This is going to be a somewhat chaotic PJOseries review so bare with me
I might do edits to add some of my observations I missed so... Yeah. Prepare for that. And it will def be spoilery
Okay I just watched the first two episodes of @percyseries and this is actually a fresh take and a great adaptation that is of its own just like The Lightning Thief Musical. Most of the decisions of changes they made actually make sense for a show adaptation.
Tumblr media
Anyway possible spoilers alert ahead so
Don't say I didn't warn you!
Ep 1 : I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher
Off to a good start. I love how they opened this with flashbacks when Percy was young and how he's struggling with ADHD.
Anyway like I said first and foremost, this isn't really a word by word (word for word? grammatically correct me, anyone, if I were wrong) adaptation. So there will be conversations which I've memorized from the book that will completely get cut, but will be replaced by lines that do not really stray away that much from the essence of the scenes.
Walker embodies Percy Jackson if he were to be born a Gen Z ( well I always considered Percy as a Milennial reading the book as I grew up so ). Obviously, he's still got that charm from his previous movies he starred in. No wonder at all why Uncle Rick entrusted him this role.
Tbh, I only had an issue with Mrs. Dodd's facial appearance. It looked like the CGI on her was unfinished. But the way she strut towards Percy while transforming into a Fury is *chef's kiss*
Even if it's unintentional messaging, I love how it's viewed that these people are also just so unaware and inattentive with their surroundings. (yeah the Mist does all that, Yada Yada but it kinda gave a spotlight on the perspective of an ADHD how they can also be frustrated when people around them don't notice what they see)
And I definitely think that they need to bring back the actor who played Nancy and cast her as Rachel in Season 3. I mean, no one would even notice she's the same actor as Nancy only appeared a brief amount of time.
Sally telling Percy that he's a Half-Blood was so unexpected but it made sense during that scene. The poor kid is going through an existential crisis. She's gotta give her son a break.
Tumblr media
Also, I kinda see how that is the very reason why the minotaur found them as soon as he can, if it's still canon in here that the more a demigod know about their connection to Greek mythological stuff, the more monsters they attract and can sense them, and will come for them!
I dunno if it's just me, but the scene when the Minotaur was supposed to be chasing them kinda didn't leave an impression on me that there is some sort of danger looming? I guess part of that is because Pasiphae's son looked too cute? But the scene when Percy went for a bullride is definitely one heck of a heroic moment!
Ep 2 : I Become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom
Tumblr media
Mr. D is... a troll. Lol. No. I mean, I def laughed when he played Percy like that. If Jason actually watched Stanley Tucci's take on this role in the Sea of Monsters movie, I think he's actually the continuation of that. It is nothing that I expected from Dionysus reading the book but I can love this take tho.
Tumblr media
Chiron is too kind in here. I guess it's the actor's nature emanating in this role. I kinda expected him to be also somehow stern and disappointed at times, and not too cheerful. But with that said, he's definitely the camp director you'd be visiting much so making him more approachable along those reasoning made him a perfect fit!
Tumblr media
Tbh, kinda missing a lot of Annabeth content since her role in introducing the camp to Percy has been filled mostly by Luke.
Tumblr media
I guess we can see more of her in the episodes that follow which is why they took that direction. I mean, I def agree that we gotta give some more screen time to Luke.
Tumblr media
Clarisse and her siblings are ... Probably how Gen Z bullies would act right now, I guess?
Tumblr media
And focusing on Grover's whereabouts actually is the cherry I love from this show.
Tumblr media
I definitely want the Capture the Flag to occur at night just like in the books (which is also one of the many complaints I have with the movies tbfh), because I feel the scene when Percy was claimed would've been more "atmospheric" with the glowing trident hovering above his head in the dark surroundings... but I guess there are some issues behind the camera that that will be a very tricky so I guess I'll just let this pass.
Prediction for that Ep 3 Preview
With the scene when Sally, and younger Percy talked about how not all who look like heroes are actually heroes, the same goes with monsters, whilst looking at the statue of his namesake holding Medusa's head;
Tumblr media
Why do I think that Aunty Em wouldn't be viewed as antagonistic here? I mean, judging from the preview of the next ep, I kinda sense a vibe that she'll willingly offer her head to Percy and somehow tell a different tale from the story that we know about the gorgons?
This is just me, I'll definitely discard this once I'm proven wrong by the show (or not) but even so, I think that is actually a change I can accept also to further the message of
"Not those who look like monsters are amonsters"
Conclusion
Obviously there are complete changes they've done; from the casting alone, and also some specific conceptual description from the books that were somehow intentionally decided that they'd do the opposite, for instance: like what I've mentioned above, playing capture at day instead of night, Chiron's a black stallion from the waist down instead of white, Mr D not looking like a hubbub (erm cherub), Smelly Gabe not being that quite bald, and the fandom's issue with the hair and all that, those things considered that are superficial that even if you completely stray away from it, there won't be that much change at all...but like what I've also said, this is a fresh take and an adaptation that stands on its own just like The Lightning Thief Musical.
Tbh, if you're watching this show without having read the book at all, I'll say this that this is very distinguishable from it, judging by the two episodes alone. It is faithful with the essence but there are details that are only physically manifested from the book which they absolutely turn a 360. You can absolutely say that you're not required to read the series before watching this at all, but I will aso advise that you read it to know what I mean.
Also I can say that at times, I can also pick up some cinematic vibes similar with the hated Peter Johnson movies by most of the fandom, and I can't also help but cry over cartons of spilled milk with those movies are, because they definitely had the potential to be great, but it had all gone into waste!
Those movies could've been what this series is if only they honored the books faithfully beforehand. Such a waste for fans like me who have to wait for this day before getting this kind of adaptation but hey! What's important is now, and RIGHT NOW THANK di Immortales THAT uncle Rick is very much involved!

Thinking about my favorite Constant Orbit bit again...
Iris (meeting her human co-worker for the first time, *knowing* the only other names were "Stanley" and "Light", and her co-workers were a human and a robot): "Ah, hey! I'm Iris, you must be Stanley, nice to meet you."
Light (knowing Iris is the sane one here): "Nah, I'm Light. Pretty sure the robot's Stanley. Nice to meet you too, tho!"
Like, my poor child Light... why choose such a goofy ahh name??? You chose it yourself??? Robot-sounding goofball???
