this one also falls in line with that but it gets a special mention for indirectly calling you a nerd. your skills with shots don't make you cool enough unfortunately

there is nothing I love more than validation. yes tell me I'm so funny. also want to highlight the comment about you dropping another update, this post is effectively a day of public humiliation and the update is you walking up to the stocks in the square the next morning, resigned.

not to toot my own horn (<- sent you an ask tooting my own horn) but I thought this was funny, maybe a bit much though. I debated on if this was too much

fic writer interview
I was tagged by @easilydistractedbyfanfic - thank you!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I’m at 64 right now!! Which is both very cool and also depressing in its own way lol. Once I get through my prompts, I think I’ll be at 72. I have a few more ideas but wow, so many.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
Currently 675,425! which feels pretty crazy to think about.
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Total I think is six. Back in the day: Harry Potter, W.I.T.C.H., Young Dracula. More recently: The 100, Stranger Things, Six of Crows.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Stardust, In You and In Me – Bellarke, college AU + soulmarks 2. I Heard You – Mileven, college AU + meet cute 3. Traces of You – Bellarke, royalty + arranged marriage 4. In the Gravity of You – Bellarke, fake dating + sci fi vibes 5. Prisoner's Dilemma – Bellarke, S5 canon compliant kiss (my first Bellarke fic!)
5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Yes I do!! I try to at least, I don't get enough to feel fine leaving them be haha. I'm a bit behind at the moment but I do try to always make time to go and respond to them! It means a lot to me that people could have a response to something I write and I want to make sure that I acknowledge the extra step they take by commenting!
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Easily the road gets tough – it’s a Harper x Monty, apocalypse AU and it deals with her S5 arc where she struggles to find a reason to keep going. She doesn’t die in the fic... but yeah. Secondary is Imitation which is an AU of the The Thing, written for Troped: Horror. It’s vaguely Memori but one of the tropes is Final Girl so it’s not a happy ending obviously.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Not anymore, but one of my first fics on ffn.net was a Harry Potter and Young Dracula crossover! Never went anyway but a delightful attempt by younger me.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I haven’t! I’ve had a few “this was interesting” comments that definitely feel off haha, but no outright hate. To be fair I don’t receive a lot of comments in general but definitely no hate! Which I’m very thankful for.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Occasionally. It’s not my favorite thing to write so it’s usually somewhat vague, kind of standard. I think I’ve written more sex dreams than actual smut! If anything I’d like to eventually explore more k!nk type smut since I think you can do cool character work with it.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of!
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't know, not officially if anyone has at least! I'd be incredibly flattered.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven’t! Though I have co-written a story that looking back was essentially fanfic. In sixth grade one of my friends and I wrote a book together and it was pretty much our take on the Peter and the Starcatcher books. But in fanfic specifically I haven’t and I’m not sure it’s something I’d be inclined to do!
13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
I can’t choose!! To write, probably Bellarke. But Mulder x Scully is a top tier one that I just don’t think I’ll ever write. Kanej now has me by the throat but I’m weirdly anxious about writing them.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I had an X-Files, Stranger Things AU that I’m sad I abandoned. I’m worried about at least half of my WIPs tbh haha. But we’ll see. One of them is going to involve a lot of work and it didn’t get any sort of response from people, which obviously doesn’t mean everything, but that’s definitely one that I’m nervous about having the motivation which makes me sad. It’s one of my faves.
15. What are your writing strengths?
To be a complete broken record, I’m mainly just good at world building. To me I write to create movies in a written format. I think also since my inspiration tends to come from movies, I like to think I have creative ideas for stories. Since I don’t really seek out standard tropes anymore, I don’t really relay them too much in my fics which I think is a nice change of pace if someone is looking for it!
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I really feel like my dialogue is clunky. I just don’t think I have a good ear for it and I struggle with making characters sound like themselves in AUs. It might not be as noticeable as it feels but I always dread it. I also think I often have ideas that are too big for what I’m capable of pulling off and I’m always worried that the “big” moments won’t come across.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
For me so far, the only other language that comes up is the "Grounder" language and I avoid it at all costs. I think otherwise just try your best to make it feel authentic! I’ve never tried or considered it so I’m not sure I have many other thoughts.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
I believe it was Harry Potter! Back on mugglenet I think was where I first shared them. I don’t even remember what I wrote tbh, I just remember the terrifying approval process.
19. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
Probably my Bellarke, Midsommar fic though if I had to choose. It’s come so naturally to me and it’s the most confident I’ve been writing something. I really enjoy the themes and plot points I’ve been able to explore. It’s just a bonus that people like it, it’s really become a special fic for me since I first came up with it.

THE OWLS ARE IN! IT’S TIME FOR THE SURVEY RESULTS!
Tumblr media
So, as many of our followers are probably aware, we recently did a survey to get a feel of what people thought of our blog. We got a total of 57 results and we are grateful to each and every one of you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Now, we’re here to share the general consensus of what people thought and how we will accommodate these opinions.
We’ll definitely have some changes to the blog, so read on to see what those changes are!
Tumblr media
Before we begin, we have a few things to briefly mention.
The results are pretty scattered. We didn’t want to restrict anyone, so most were free response or included “Other”. In hindsight, there were a few questions that could have easily been multiple choice without really restricting anyone. (Side eyes the first question.) Therefore, most of these will just summarize the results we got. Occasionally drop the graph for the multiple choice questions.
Because of the large amount of responses we got, not every answer will be listed here. We highlighted the things that were either most commonly mentioned or had us thinking the most.
If anyone would like to see the full results for some reason (par the names, to keep anonymity), feel free to email us at [email protected] and we’ll send it over!
And yes, we are making changes to accommodate these results! That’s what this survey was all about!
We’ll be opening applications for new mods within the next couple days as well.
We’ll have a tiny hiatus as all of this is going on.
Now, we begin...
Tumblr media
How long have you been following incorrect-marauders?
The most popular answer seemed to be around 2 months or 10 months. A lot of people filling out this survey seemed to either be relatively new or here since the beginning. Kudos to you incorrect-marauders veterans, and welcome newer followers!
How did you find incorrect-marauders?
Somewhat as we expected. Keep reblogging us, lovely people!
Tumblr media
What do you love MOST about incorrect-marauders?
"It's funny.” (x50)
No really, we got 50 variations of “It’s funny,” “It’s hilarious,” “The humour,” “The funny text posts.”
Thanks, we appreciate it!
“How weirdly in character the quotes always are.”
(Similar variations include, “How actually accurate your post are,” “That not every post is as funny, imho, but that they do keep true to the characters,” “How much they fit the characters.”)
“They offer new content to the Marauders 'franchise' as it were because some stuff within the fandom is constantly being reused.”
“How correct it actually is if Joanne made it canon.”
“McGonagall with the marauders and that the sources are listed.”
“Accurate representation, variety of ships and relationships, isnt toxic.”
“Very funny and can be great art/writing prompts.”
“The taste.”
“EVERYTHING.”
These are all very nice, thank you all. Glad we hit where we were aiming.
What do you love LEAST about incorrect-marauders?
The most common response was, “Nothing,” or a variation thereof, but that’s no fun for this question, so here are some of the legitimate criticisms we received!
“Quote sources, I think, occasionally aren't there.”
Our original quotes often don’t have sources. But if there’s one where a mod forgot to credit a source, please just message us and one of the admins will fix that!
“There isn't a particularly nice aesthetic to the blog, e.g. a matching layout and profile picture or quote.”
Yeah, we’re working to fix that. I like pretty blogs too.
“Could be updated a little more.”
(”Not much posting in my opinion,” “Long time between posts.”)
Strangely enough, we got this a few times but our later poll about how often to post were contradicting this. So, unfortunately, we will not be adjusting this.
“I mean I would say that Peter is on it, but can’t really get rid of him...”
(Got a few of these, like, ”Peter being seen as a good person.”)
Sorry!
“Some are a bit too small.”
“I don’t like the long quotes.”
Well, then.
“Seeing my #notp but that isnt rly a minus?? Its called diversity so im not gonna hate or anything.”
Thank you for appreciating the diversity. We get occasional hate over it, but we also get hate over not posting some of the other ships. I suppose that’s what happens when you have lots of different followers of different opinions.
“If I send you a text post you credit the source in # but i'd like you to include a link to my tumblr in the post itself so people would actually find my tumblr. I doent send you text posts anymore, cause it doesn't really profit me and it feels like you get credit for my work.”
We’re sorry you feel that way. We always put it in the tags, just in front of the source. We are more of a mod-based blog rather than a submission-based blog. Anyone is welcome to submit, but about 98% of our posts are created by our mods.
“Sometimes I feel like the wrong characters were chosen or not well thought out.”
We can assure you our mods put a lot of thought into what characters to use, but you are welcome to message us with your own suggestion! (But please note that we are a Marauders blog; we got a few comments about how we don’t post enough Hinny or Romione, but that’s not what our blog is about.)
What makes incorrect-marauders stand out?
Once again, we got a lot about how funny we are, so we’ll skip over those and highlight the more unique answers!
"They don't use things from other people without credit.”
“The love and attention put in to everything.”
“Don't think there are any other blogs about marauders in this style.”
(We got this a few times. ”Like the type of blog and incorrect-marauders was the first one Harry potter themed I found,” also, “Its really funny and pretty much the only blog that just does this kind of post and i LOVE it.” But alternatively... “There are a lot of textpost blogs like it, but it is one of the only ones that I have found that consistently keeps characters in character in the posts and appeals to my sense of humor.”)
“I feel the quotes are in character and from multiple sources which Is cool.“
“How open it is.”
“The continuous content.”
“The posts arent so often that my dash is spammed like other blogs of the same nature.”
“Not sure but I like you.”
Not much to comment on these except we’re happy to see people think this about us!
How satisfied are you with the blog and the posts, in all?
So, you’re telling me, we opened a public, anonymous survey and not a single hater filled it out? Am I impressed or disappointed?
Tumblr media
Please explain your response to the previous question.
“I just love the whole blog.”
“It's not my favourite blog ever ever which is why it's not a 10 but i still love it.”
“You guys are just so awesome! But it'd also be cool to have a little, meet the creator(s).”
“Its good but I don't have or want notifications on.”
“It’s the #qualitycontent i signed up for.”
"Always room for improvement, and also there's no 9 3/4 option.”
Awesome! We definitely agree that we can always improve, which is what this survey is for!
How often should we post?
We got a lot of variety here. Some say once a day (which is how often we currently post) was ideal. Others put stuff like...
“I wouldnt mind my entire blog just being filled with your posts.”
While Once A Day is the most voted for, the rest of the options put together, which we’ll name Two or More Times a Day, do win overall. Since we have one new post followed by a reblog, we’ll compromise by posting two times a day, but with one new post a day (the second being a reblog).
Tumblr media
In UTC, what times do you prefer us posting?
As expected, not many people cared. But two people felt very strongly and voted for 12am, 1am, and 6pm UTC. So, we’ll consider that.
What characters, relationships, universes, etc. would you like to see more represented in our posts?
We got a lot of responses here, primarily being more Wolfstar, Jily, and BFFs James and Sirius. We also got a lot saying we should post about Hinny, Romione, next gen, FBAWTFT, etc. in which I remind you that this is a Marauders blog.
We also got the hilarious response that said we should maybe post about the “merauders”. Well, we can certainly promise you that.
We also got a lot of people saying more McGonagall. That’s something we can definitely do.
Would you like to see more original quotes from us?
For the longest time, the option 50/50 was at exactly 50%. Kind of disappointed that is no longer, but the 25% option is at 25%, so that’s something. Anyway, we’ll aim for 50/50.
Tumblr media
What else would you like to see us post?
This was one of the results that will make the biggest change to the blog. People seem to really love these ideas. So expect...
Marauder Mondays! Every Monday we’ll have Marauder Monday, where we’ll answer asks, reblog posts, and have a party! Probably when we’ll post the “extra” posts, like our GIFs, graphics, aesthetics, videos, etc.
Tumblr media
How would you feel if we did sponsored posts?
Combined, it seems like ~75% of those who took the survey are good with sponsored posts.
These results honestly surprised us. We’ve gotten a lot of offers of sponsorships in the past but have always denied them because we didn’t know how our followers would feel. We probably won’t do this in the near future, but it’s an option.
Tumblr media
What kind of projects would you like to see us host?
We got so many people suggesting merch. Shirts, stickers, pins, other merch... So we’ll keep that in mind! We’d love some Marauders shirts ourselves.
“Projects that other blogs can get involved with to help other accounts grow.”
Noted!
“An art challenge maybe? like, 30 day challenge where you have to draw them as characters from movies/tv shows? like, friends, clueless, avengers, dc characters etc.“
Definitely interesting. Art challenges would be a lot of fun. Hopefully there’s an interest for this!
Which of our other accounts do you follow/would like to follow?
We’ll look into bringing on people to regularly post on other sites.
Tumblr media
What device do you use to browse our blog most often (whether through Tumblr or our site)?
Why are we bothering with a redesign again? Oh, right. Personal vain.
Tumblr media
How often do you visit the blogsite?
Those numbers are higher than expected...
Tumblr media
What kind of things would you like to find on our blogsite?
“Character aesthetics.”
“Fanfiction links.”
“Marauders fan art would be cool.“
We’ll be working on this! Thank you for the suggestions!
More meet the creator(s) (if not comfortable with should, maybe just telling a funny story)
We got a lot of people saying they’d like to know more about us. We are anonymous, but this particular comment had us thinking. We’ll be implementing something in the near future. We will still remain anonymous, but we will have “blog identifies”, I suppose you could say. More info to come!
Other than show, character, and ship lists, what would you like to see in our navigation?
We didn’t get many new suggestions for this, except for fanart, aesthetics, etc. which we will add as more people join the blog!
Do you have any additional suggestions for us?
"Maybe find a blog that could do fan art, but only if you’re comfortable with it. Also, you’re blog is already so amazing, and any redesign would just make it more awesome!!! Don’t let anyone get you down espically if some one puts something negative on the survey because it is so so great already.”
We got no negative feedback (just constructive criticism), but thank you for your concern!
“um. keep doing this. i like it. it helps fill the gaping void in my soul“
Mood.
“Thanks for making the survey, caring about our feedback, and being awesome overall :)”
Of course! This is not just our blog, this is the Marauders fandom blog. Your feedback means everything to us and we hope you will like the changes we’ll make in response to it.
Tumblr media
And that covers all of it! Cookies to anyone who read all of that! Keep an eye out for those new mod applications if you’re interested in joining our team!
We’ll be taking a tiny little hiatus as we’re figuring some stuff out.

Part One
Friday 8th June 2018
As soon as Cass walked through the impressive mahogany hallway in her dad’s house, the delicious scent of red onion and peppers washed over her. The smell of it reminded Cass of one of her earliest recalled memories. It had been when she lived with her grandmother and her father in the country in the baby blue house with the huge white washed front porch.
The smell of the vegetables reminded her of blood red sunsets and the smell of honeysuckle as she sat in her grandmother’s arms as she sang softly to Cass while her dad grilled beef burgers on the barbeque. It put a smile on her face, her dad was taking the time to cook again and that meant that he was in a pretty good mood.
“Hey! It smells amazing in here,” Cass grinned as she skipped into the kitchen and pulled herself up to sit on top of the white marble counter. Her dad Nick looked up from where he was chopping up some onions, a metal spoon in his mouth so his eyes wouldn’t water. Cass winced as Nick took the spoon from his mouth, the metal scraping against his top teeth.
“Thank you sweetie how was your day?” he asked, wrapping his strong arms around her, his nose nestled in her dark hair that smelled of coffee. Cass shrugged with a smile as she snagged a little bit of pepper, crunching it between her teeth with relish.
“It was okay I guess. Same old, same old,” she rolled her hazel eyes with a giggle, nothing exciting really ever happened to her while she worked since she was just a normal barista in a normal café within a bookstore, “some kid decided that he didn’t want his hot chocolate anymore so he spat it all over me, fun times.”
“You know, I can give you an allowance for college accommodation, you don’t have to do it all on your own by the way,” he smiled and Cass shrugged, she had always been pretty independent.
“It’s okay, you know I want to do it on my own,” she replied and Nick nodded.
She smiled before frowning in confusion as she absent mindedly glanced out the windows of the patio doors and onto the veranda. The table had been made up with unlit candles, the fancy ones that were set in crystal holders. There were three chairs seated around the polished wooden table instead of just two, they only ever ate out on the veranda on special occasions such as birthdays. Her eyebrows knitted together and she looked back at Nick who was looking anywhere but at her and he was nervously running his fingers through his shaggy blonde hair – Cass had been pleading with him for a while now to cut it.
“Dad?” she started slowly as she pushed herself off of the counter, Nick busied himself with preparing a side salad, “what’s going on?”
After a couple of moments he rubbed a hand over his face, “Megan is coming over for dinner, both she and I want you to meet her.”
“Oh,” Cass deflated slightly, her heart dropping to the pit of her stomach where it settled like a rock, “is that why you were disappointed when I told you that I want to live on campus?”
Cass wanted nothing more than for her dad to be happy, her mom had died when Cass was just a kid and she suspected that her dad hadn’t really gotten over it. However, Cass was very much aware of the types of women that were attracted to Nick; they were shallow, young gold diggers. Nick was the best-selling author of a couple of cookery books and he owned a couple of restaurants, he had kept his fortune pretty well.
“That’s part of the reason but the bigger part is the fact that you’re my baby girl and I’m not quite ready to let you go yet,” he beamed, his eyes getting slightly misty as he pressed a sloppy kiss to her cheek. Cass giggled, shoving him away playfully feigning a look of disgust, “I could really use your support tonight.”
He looked so hopeful that Cass couldn’t possibly refuse him, “yeah of course dad, let me get changed out of these clothes,” she smiled and he nodded.
“Okay, don’t spend too long on your computer speaking to that boy, I know what you’re like,” he winked. A laugh and a smirk was his response as Cass padded up the stairs.
A couple of months ago she was commenting on a forum thread about Harry Potter – it sounded geeky but she just loved the books and the movies, not that she’d ever admit it to anyone. She had started speaking to some guy called Tom from England. They clicked almost instantly so they started to converse through the private messaging function on the site. She knew her dad would worry about her talking to a stranger so she had told Nick that Tom was her friend in real life.
He was incredibly sweet but Cass had to admit to herself that he could be some sort of weirdo, she didn’t know how old she was or even what he looked like, she only knew his name. However, that didn’t stop her from grinning when she opened her messages to see that she had an unread message from Tom.
From: Tom Holland
‘So mad! I did that Hogwarts house quiz on Facebook and it told me that I’m a Hufflepuff; I’m definitely not a Hufflepuff right? I’m a cool Slytherin! Anyway, how was your day darling? Xx’
Cass giggled at his message and decided to toy with him just a little.
To: Tom Holland
‘I definitely think that you could be a Hufflepuff, you’re adorable Tom! Have some Hufflepuff pride man! I had a pretty boring day, but my dad’s girlfriend is coming over so meeting her for the first time will be a lot of fun. Not. How was your day? Xx’
She sent her message off and started to get ready for the night ahead, deciding on a nice white top and jeans. She sprayed her dark hair with a sweet smelling hairspray so that it would smell less like coffee - there wasn’t enough time for a shower. Cass checked her messages and saw that Tom hadn’t replied yet so she closed the lid of her laptop and she made her way down the stairs to help her dad.
He was pretty frantic when she entered the kitchen, “oh god! Megan is gonna be here in like ten minutes and I’m not even ready yet! Can you open this bottle of wine?” he babbled, thrusting a bottle of rose wine into her hands, Cass opened her mouth to try and calm him but she was blocked out by his frantic tirade, “can you set the table too?!” he pleaded, his eyes were the size of dinner plates.
Cass fought back a giggle; she knew that laughing really wouldn’t help him in this situation, “dad calm down. Please, I’ll sort everything, just go and get ready you really need to,” she gestured at his outfit that consisted of a white shirt, sweatpants and bare feet, thankfully one of Nick’s talents was that he could easily get changed in five minutes, Cass had no idea why he was panicking so much.
Nick smiled at her gratefully and pressed a kiss to her forehead before he all but ran upstairs. Cass popped the cork from the wine bottle and placed it back in the fridge so it could chill as much as possible before she set the veranda table with their finest cutlery. She couldn’t blame her dad for wanting to have dinner outside; the evening sun was so warm. The ringing of the doorbell a few moments later startled her and she internally cursed her dad for taking longer than five minutes to get ready.
“Fuck,” she muttered darkly, bracing herself as she as she pulled the door open.
Her eyes went wide for just a moment; the woman on the other side of the door was not at all what she expected. The woman, Megan had wavy brown hair that fell just past her collar bones, her makeup was very minimal, no inch of plastic surgery and she was only a couple of years younger than Nick. She was wearing a dark blue dress that flowed just past her knee, she was beautiful. Beautifully ordinary. Cass gathered herself and forced out a smile as she introduced herself.
“Hi, you must be Megan, I’m Cassidy but you can call me Cass,” Cass smiled, holding out her hand for Megan to take.
Megan beamed at Cass, her green eyes sparkling as instead she pulled Cass into a tight hug. Cass hesitated before wrapping her arms around Megan, returning the hug, “It’s so nice to meet you Cass, please call me Meg. You look really beautiful by the way.”
Dinner was actually pretty nice, it was nice to feel the warmth of the sun beating down on them and it was so nice for Cass to see the way Meg looked at Nick – like he put all the stars in the sky just for her. Cass actually liked her so far.
“Mm, this chicken is delicious, I can’t wait to have your famous brownies for dessert,” Meg grinned at Cass before she leaned over the table to kiss Nick. Cass smiled before playfully glaring at her dad for giving her secret recipe away, “so Cass your dad tells me that you’re doing Art at NYU and you’re pretty good, that’s exciting,” Meg smiled kindly before sipping from her glass, leaving a faint pink stain.
Cass’s smile faltered slightly while she played with her food, she wasn’t used to people – other than her dad – supporting what she wanted to do.
“Yeah, I guess so; my friends from high school that are attending the college want me to join the cheer team.”
Friends was a strong word to describe those girls, sure they were nice to her face but she was guessing that they were very bitchy about her behind her back. They were nothing more than trust fund brats that couldn’t buy their way into an Ivy League school.
“Oh yeah, you want to?” her dad asked with a smile before sighing when Cass bit her lip and dropped her eyes to her plate, pulling her sunglasses over her eyes.
“You know that you don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to do right?” Meg gave her a sympathetic smile, reaching across the table to take Cass’s hand, squeezing it comfortingly, “friends can be tough.”
Cass smiled at her, slowly slipping her hand from Meg’s grasp, she wasn’t really that comfortable with the whole stepmom thing already. Instead she changed the subject after sipping some of her raspberry lemonade, “so, what do you do for a living Meg?”
“Oh, I work in an elementary school for children with additional needs,” she paused, taking a swallow of wine, “it’s very challenging but very rewarding,” she smiled while Nick beamed at her with pride.
Cass grinned, that was such a selfless job to have, “I bet it is,” she replied, her respect for Meg rising considerably.

The following evening, many miles away from New York Tom was only just replying to the message that his online friend had sent him. She really was something but he didn’t even know her name, he only knew that she lived somewhere in America. He chuckled, running his fingers through his curls as he started to type out his reply.
To: C.Rose
‘Please don’t call me adorable, it’s embarrassing, I’m really scary! Definitely more fitting for Slytherin! I’m just going to a party and I’m packing because I’m moving away for school in less than a week xx’
“Are you speaking to your girlfriend that actually might be a 50 year old man?” Harrison, Tom’s best friend snickered, leaning against the doorframe. Tom gave him a death glare as he logged out of the site.
“You’re a dick.”
“C’mon mate! There will be loads of girls at this party dying to shag you,” Haz smirked, clapping Tom on the shoulder.
“Like who?” he asked even though he really wasn’t that interested.
“Well, there’s Sammy, Abby, Claire, Faith, Emma, the list really is endless!” Haz sounded proud as he checked all the girls off the list. Tom scoffed, pulling on his jacket, even though it was summer it was still a cold night.
“What’s the point? We’re leaving for New York in less than a week.”
“Have a one night stand, love them and leave them! Wham bam, thank you ma’am,” Haz chuckled as they left the flat.
“Hey, Haz?”
“Yeah?”
“You really are an absolute arsehole.”

hi, blogs you can say nice things about, pj, fynn, jo, malu, allison, cc, sawyer, geo, lore and/or the first 20 blogs that pop up in your head(sorry that that are a lot of blogs)
Okay, I’m gonna do the thing where I talk about their blog and about them because why not?
@huffledoofMy favorite thing about Fynn’s blog? Oh boy, okay, sit yourself down, my buddy my pal because it’s not just one simple thing. It’s not just the blog content that is so freakin 10/10, a great mix of Harry Potter and everything else. There’s a reason I had them on notifications even before we were really good friends. If you look at their blog, there is endless amounts of creativity with OCs and their own threads and so many more things that are going to bring a smile to your face. But that’s not all. It’s the amazing human being behind the screen, i.e. one of the best, most incredible friends I could have ever hoped to have met. I love that they alway speak their mind, and I admire them so deeply for being true to who they are. I mean, listen, you’re talking about the Sirius Black to my James Potter, so of course I’m going to gush about them. I adore Fynn’s blog, and then I got to have more love for it because the creator of that blog is a person with so much talent and passion and dedication and openness and kindness for others, and I am lucky to call them an incredibly close and good friend of mine.
@justanothernerdyroleplayer My favorite thing about PJ’s blog is the sheer amount of content he has. Like, so so much stuff on his blog as different characters with so many ideas, and he’s always willing to try something new or randomly start something. I also really love his writing??? I love that, even though he doesn’t always tag things, when he does it’s like “oooo tags what do they say??” And, okay, I get secondhand happiness whenever something exciting happens for him. As for the part about the person, I mean, hello, here’s the other half of my wolfstar friends. He’s actually Remus Lupin, it’s a little frightening some times. He’s also a fantastic listener with a lot of love to give and like, have I mentioned he’s also pretty much my best friend/like a brother?
@lilyflowerevansAaalllll their characters, holy shoot. Jo can do so much with what they’ve got, like damn son, how you do the makeup thing so well??? And just the whole range of who they are willing, and will figure out how, to do. About Jo, I really absolutely adore their willingness to fight and their loyalty because smol with tol attitude. I also really love that I can spend hours on a gh with Jo after not seeing their lovely face for a while, and we’re still mega chill and such dorks together. 10/10 would befriend this great human again.
@bookwormravenclawgirlI love that Malu’s blog is such a safe and welcoming place. She’s always got a kind word for people and reaches out to them to introduce herself or to just make sure they know she’s there and supportive. It’s actually one of my favorite things about Malu too. I also really love that she’s got an endless amount of ideas of things to create and she wants to share it with others. I’m honestly always so in awe of what she comes up with.
@xxdrxco-mxlfoyxx Initially, it was the imagines because goodness gracious, so much !!!!!!! The writing was brilliant and I still love going back and reading them every once in a while. I love that about Allison’s blog. Then it became about the sheer amount of amazingness that was her Draco rp and how NICE she is. Like, I don’t know if you read her responses to things, but they’re always freakin gold. Also, this is one of my few close Slytherin friends, and the reason she’s one of the few, not just because I don’t know too many of them, is because she’s got some of the fiercest loyalty to those she cares about and it’s such a wonderful thing to be part of her friendship.
@huffledoge Mi gemela literally has the most amazing ideas for roleplays. Like, her ideas were literally the first thing I loved about her, and she was so excited and I was like “yes yes yes!! Followbutton!!” so fast. Her comments and additions to posts are so great too, like everything she reblogs I look forward to seeing. About this absolute gem of a person, I love that she’s so able to make people laugh and make them feel at ease. I love that CC is the kind of person who you can’t help but love and appreciate because she’s always supporting your ideas and helping you make a few changes here and there to get it how you want it.
@actually-hermione-granger Hi, hello, yes, this blog is run by someone who has a limitless supply of desire to do things and test things out. I love that she occasionally posts her music, because she’s got such a beautiful voice and she shares it so easily. I love that Sawyer is a bundle of energy more often than not. I love that she’s so friendly and encouraging. I love that she trusts me and that I trust her. I love that she’s my platonic Lily. I love that this sweet person makes jokes and is able to let herself be herself while encouraging others to do the same.
@i-am-a-were-remus Geo’s blog is so good. Like, there’s so many great things going on, like the characters they decide to try out and how they respond, like oh my, Geo is such a talented pebble. Yes, Geo is a pebble. About this amazing person I’ve recently started to really get to know, Geo will tell jokes if you’re feeling down. I love that Geo will send me pictures of their cat because they know it makes me cry and very happy at the same time. Geo is a sweetheart who I completely adore and am grateful that they came into my life so recently. They also fall asleep when watching movies even though they’re a full 18(?) hours ahead of me. Such a good pebble.
@rainbow-tonks One of my favorite things about Lore’s blog, beside their cosplay (bc omg !!!!! so good I can never get over how amazing their cosplay is and how many characters they can do) is their support. Their support of people in this community. Their advice and their genuine caring for other people. It’s part of the reason why I love Lore. Because they care so deeply and fully, and they are not afraid to express it. They’re honest and will tell you things as they are for your own good. They know what to say and they keep their chin up. They are so good to the people they love, and having them in your life is such a blessing.
I love that everyone’s blog is a representation of who they are. And I love each and every person who runs that blog because they bring something unique to the table. I can say all of these things about them because I talk to them and know them and I am happily able to say they are important people in my life. I support them all fully, and I love them unconditionally. It’s a family that keeps growing and a family that is more than happy to open it’s arms and pull you in for a big, virtual hug. At least until we meet, in which case, it will be a real, physical hug (or whatever they’re comfortable with :) )
(I just stuck to the ones you mentioned. The first 20 would have taken me way too long XD)

How Teenagers Find Themselves - The development of a key brain area leads to self-consciousness - Charles Q. Choi
Teens are notoriously self-conscious. Now brain-imaging experiments are revealing how this adolescent predilection might be the result of changes in brain anatomy linked with the self, and the findings may hint at how the sense of self develops in the brain.
One way we build a sense of self is by reflecting on how others perceive us, a concept psychologists have dubbed “the looking-glass self.” To see how teenagers reacted to what other people thought of them, researchers asked adolescent girls ages 10 to 18 to imagine a variety of scenarios involving onlookers that were designed to evoke social emotions such as guilt or embarrassment—for example, “You were quietly picking your nose, but your friend saw you.”
Cognitive neuroscientist Sarah-Jayne Blakemore of University College London and her colleagues found that when compared with scenarios describing basic emotions that did not involve the opinions of others, such as fear and disgust, girls who thought about onlookers’ opinions engaged a brain region known as the dorsal medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) more during social emotional scenarios than adult women did. This area is one of the last regions to develop before adulthood, and it is known to activate in adults when they think about themselves, about other people and even about the personality traits of animals.
It makes evolutionary sense for teenagers to be highly concerned about what others think, Blakemore suggests. Adolescence requires becoming more independent because one’s parents might not be around much longer. Teens have to start relying more on what peers think “and develop a more socially constructed sense of self,” Blakemore says. The researchers’ findings “might also help explain why peer influence is so strong in adolescence, compared with before and after.”
Another way we construct a sense of self is by contemplating what our aims or traits are, and previous studies have shown that adolescents also use their dorsal MPFC when engaged in such introspection. For instance, when developmental social neuroscientist Jennifer Pfeifer of the University of Oregon and her colleagues at the Uni-versity of California, Los Angeles, asked subjects whether phrases such as “I make friends easily” described them or a familiar other—in this case, Harry Potter—the researchers found that thinking about oneself caused higher dorsal MPFC activation in teens as compared with adults.
The greater activity in the dorsal MPFC in adolescents hints that they are learning to attribute complex mental states such as intentions both to themselves as well as to other people, suggests social cognitive neuroscientist Kevin Ochsner of Columbia University. As teens mature, less activity may be seen in that region because the brain might become more efficient at the process of self-reflection—somewhat like a skill for which practice makes perfect, he adds.
Pfeifer also explains that in adults more activity is seen in brain regions linked with storing knowledge about oneself. “Instead of deciding who they are over and over again, adults may just retrieve what they already know about themselves,” she says. “But while these areas related to self-reflection might be more active in adolescence, it is something that goes on throughout your whole life—you’ll see the same kinds of processes going on in the brain in adults if they enter stages in their lives that are new to them, such as parenthood.”

Is Social Media Giving Your Teen a Negative Body Image? As if adolescence weren't painful enough, the pressure to be "camera-ready" may be adding to teens' body dissatisfaction – and leading to self-destructive behavior.By Caroline Knorr
Not too long ago, girls might have stressed about being "bikini-ready" every spring when the bathing suit magazines would hit the stands. And boys might have done a few extra pushups after seeing Wolverine's abs. But now, thanks to photo-centric social media like Instagram, Snapchat and other messaging apps, kids are exposed to a constant drumbeat of bikini bodies, six-pack abs, and just-right hair 24/7. And it's not just celebrities pushing idealized images of human perfection. It's your teens' friends posting pictures of themselves and one another for all the world to see and comment on. What's worse, many of these moments are captured seemingly unplanned, increasing kids' anxiety about looking "perfect" -- but effortlessly so -- at all times.
According to Common Sense Media's body-image study, Children, Teens, Media, and Body Image, teens who are active online worry a lot about how they're perceived. In fact, body dissatisfaction appears to be on the rise in the United States. A study by the Keep it Real Campaign found that 80 percent of 10-year-old American girls have been on a diet. Examples of negative teen body image are all over the Web. In YouTube videos, kids ask an Internet audience to tell them if they're pretty or ugly. They rate each other on Instagram. They bare themselves and beg for feedback on formspring.me. They edit their selfies and drink in advice about how to improve their online image.
Why are teens turning to the Internet for body image validation? Well, because they can. In adolescence, self-consciousness and the need for peer-validation are at their height, and the Internet acts as a kind of "super peer," providing a quick route to satisfying both concerns. But no one knows how all this criticism and judgment affect teens' body image. Research on media and body image to date has focused on so-called "traditional" mainstream media -- TV, movies, music, magazines, advertising -- containing unrealistic, idealized, and stereotypical portrayals of body types. But in a world where the feedback is constant, often negative, frequently public, and interactive, it can't be good.
Body image doesn't just happen. It's a complex phenomenon influenced by many factors, including parents, peers, and social contexts. But we know that media messages play a powerful role in shaping gender norms and body satisfaction.
Given that young people today are no longer only passive consumers of media -- they're also creating and sharing peer-to-peer media messages about boys' and girls' appearance – they have the tools of change in their hands. But they need guidance on how to use them. Parents are in a unique position to help their kids counteract negative messages by encouraging them to use media positively, creatively, and responsibly. And above all, to learn to value themselves as complex individuals -- not just another pretty face.

How Social Media Is a Toxic Mirror
We’ve long understood that movies, magazines and television damage teens’ body image by enforcing a “thin ideal.” Less known is the impact of social media on body confidence. With the rapid aging down of smart phone ownership, most parents spend “digital parenting” time on character coaching, making sure their kids think before they post and refrain from cyberbullying. For at least a decade, educators like me have argued that social media’s biggest threat was its likeness to a bathroom wall, letting teens sling insults with the recklessness that comes only with anonymity.
Not anymore. Social media has also become a toxic mirror.
Earlier this year, psychologists found robust cross-cultural evidence linking social media use to body image concerns, dieting, body surveillance, a drive for thinness and self-objectification in adolescents. Note: that doesn’t mean social media cause the problems, but that there’s a strong association between them.
Visual platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat deliver the tools that allow teens to earn approval for their appearance and compare themselves to others. The most vulnerable users, researchers say, are the ones who spend most of their time posting, commenting on and comparing themselves to photos. One study found that female college students who did this on Facebook were more likely to link their self-worth to their looks. Interestingly, while girls report more body image disturbance and disordered eating than boys—studies have shown both can be equally damaged by social media.
And thanks to an array of free applications, selfie-holics now have the power to alter their bodies in pictures in a way that’s practically on par with makeup and other beauty products. If the Internet has been called a great democratizer, perhaps what social media has done is let anyone enter the beauty pageant. Teens can cover up pimples, whiten teeth and even airbrush with the swipe of a finger, curating their own image to become prettier, thinner and hotter.
All this provides an illusion of control: if I spend more time and really work at it, I can improve at being beautiful. “I don’t get to choose how I’m going to leave my apartment today,” one young woman told me. “If I could, my body would look different. But I can choose which picture makes my arms look thinner.”
But invariably, the line between a “like” and feeling ranked becomes blurred. “I think it affects teens subconsciously just seeing how many likes they get and how much attention get just for how they look,” one 16-year-old told me.
What teens share online is dwarfed by what they consume. Pre-Internet, you had to hoof it to the grocery store to find a magazine with celebrity bodies—or at least filch your mother’s copy from the bathroom. Now the pictures are as endless as they are available. Teens can spend hours fixating on the toned arms or glutes of celebrities, who hawk their bodies as much as their talent.
The meteoric rise of the “wellness” industry online has launched an entire industry of fitness celebrities on social media. Millions of followers embrace their regimens for diet and exercise, but increasingly, the drive for “wellness” and “clean eating” has become stealthy cover for more dieting and deprivation. This year, an analysis of 50 so-called “fitspiration” websites revealed messaging that was indistinguishable, at times, from pro-anorexia (pro-ana) or “thinspiration” websites. Both contained strong language inducing guilt about weight or the body, and promoted dieting, restraint and fat and weight stigmatization. Writing in Vice, 24-year-old Ruby Tandoh recounted how a focus on “healthy” and “clean” eating and “lifestyle” enabled her to hide her increasingly disordered eating and deflect concerned peers. “I had found wellness,” she wrote. “I was not well.”
Many teens are media-literate about movies and magazines; they take in digitally altered images with a critical eye. Less clear is how social media literate they are. The older adolescents I work with often shrug off conversations about the perils of social media with a “duh” or “I know that already.” That doesn’t mean they’re not listening, or feeling worried that their bodies don’t measure up. (Besides, this population is hardly famous for gushing gratitude for parental advice.)
So what can parents do? Ask teens their opinion of the ways people modify their own appearance online: Why do people do it? What do they gain, and from whom? Sometimes just naming a feeling as normal can make a young adult feel less alone. It never hurts to tell your teen they matter more than their looks. As they peer into the mirror on the screen, a good old-fashioned “I love you exactly as you are” may be more timely than ever.

Negative Effects of Social Media on Teenagers
Since “social media” hit the market, popular culture has become a major part of the average teenager’s daily life. Web articles support the idea that social media has become a major contributor when it comes to assessing increased anxiety levels and fragile self-esteem of teenagers.
According to ChildMind.org, teenagers are constantly engaging in cell-phone use throughout the day. Users are even “texting, sharing, trolling” and “scrolling” while studying or completing homework assignments. ChildMind.org states that teens are now spending more time engaging in cyber communications as opposed to sharing and experiencing in-person interactions with others.
This creates a communication barrier and interferes with a teen’s ability to successfully communicate issues or concerns to their peers, thus resulting in a poor lack of judgement. More and more teens are also starting to feel less confident in their own physical characteristics and abilities due to the high amount of photo comparisons (on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook) being made.  Dr. Steiner-Adair states:
“We forget that relational aggression comes from insecurity and feeling awful about yourself, and wanting to put other people down so you feel better.”
Relational aggression, or “the demand for power,” happens when teenagers feel the need to compete for “likes” online. For example, a teen might want to copy trends followed by popular Instagram models or comedians in order to receive the same amount of “likes” or attention as popular person. Teens may feel the need to copy others who are “internet famous” because they may already feel bad about themselves, or have low self-esteem, and want to be just as popular as the other person in order to become “happier” or more satisfied with themselves. This eventually leads to teens competing for attention, bullying one another online, and putting other people down so they can feel better about themselves. These factors, along with cyber bullying, contribute to the development of increased levels of anxiety in teens and adolescents. Many teens have even begun experiencing anxiety attacks for the first time.
So, how can teens cut back on and even lower the risks of using social media? ChildMind.org offers a few suggestions:
Speak directly, as opposed to speaking indirectly, to others and learn how to state beliefs and opinions without fearing or worrying about the response.
Don’t be afraid to build friendships offline which can help build direct communication skills i.e. talking face-to-face with another person.
Refrain from engaging in online disagreements and try to only post or leave comments that would be said just the same offline.
While these are only a few possible solutions, there are many more ways that teens and adolescents can limit the amount of negativity experienced online, as well as offline.
Teen’s Search for Identity
The answer: adolescence.
In the teenage years, young people begin their quests for identity. To help you understand your child’s adolescence, Les Parrott, Ph.D., a professor of psychology, offers the five most common ways in which teens demonstrate their struggles with identity:
Through status symbols. Adolescents try to establish themselves through prestige — wearing the right clothes, having the right possessions, from stereos to sunglasses. These symbols help form teen identities by expressing affiliation with specific groups.
Through forbidden behaviors. Teens often feel that appearing mature will bring recognition and acceptance. They begin engaging in practices they associate with adulthood — tabooed pleasures — such as smoking, drinking, drugs and sexual activity.
Through rebellion. Rebellion demonstrates separation. Teens can show that they differentiate themselves from parents and authority figures, while maintaining the acceptance of their peers.
Through idols. Celebrities may become “models” for teens who are looking for a way of experimenting with different roles. They may identify with a known figure, trying to become like that person, and in effect, losing hold of their own identities. This identification with a well known personality gives teens a sense of belonging.
Through cliquish exclusion. Teens often can be intolerant in their exclusion of their peers. Since they are constantly trying to define and redefine themselves in relation to others, they do not want to be associated with anyone having unacceptable or unattractive characteristics. They try to strengthen their own identities by excluding those who are not like themselves.
to help:
Draw a set of three concentric circles. Then have your teen list or describe the personal characteristics that are most important and resistant to change in the innermost circle, the aspects least important and least stable in the outermost circle, and the aspects of intermediate importance in the middle circle. Use this chart to talk about values and the threat that peer pressure poses to unpopular beliefs.
Using some old magazines, have your adolescent create two collages: one entitled “Who I am,” and the other, “Who l would like to be.” After the collages are completed, discuss why the specific images were chosen in each collage. Ask how the collages compare to each other and how the images portrayed in each collage show satisfaction or confusion about identity.
At the top of a sheet of paper, write the words, “Who am I?” Then have your teen write down 20 responses to this question as quickly as possible, without self-censoring. Discuss the answers as well as the process of choosing each answer.

Popular Culture: We Are What We Consume
In a recent blog post, I railed against popular culture as being an unhealthy force in our lives . In response, Dr. Lawrence Rubin, a fellow blogger who studies popular culture, commented that "If we simply consider popular culture as banality, it certainly seems meaningless...even potentially destructive. However, if instead we recognize that it is simply an expression of our collective experiences, its importance becomes more clear." I would have agreed with that statement 30 years ago when popular culture was, in fact, an expression of our collective experiences. But I think it's time for those who study popular culture to wake up and smell the Starbuck's (popular-culture reference intended): popular culture is not popular!
As TerryS, another commenter, noted, there is nothing popular about popular culture these days: "90% of what is considered popular culture is churned out by corporations...with the sole purpose... that we can be converted into voracious consumers..." We didn't demand, for example, Desperate Housewives, Grand Theft Auto, or Facebook. They were created to make money and then marketed as "must-haves" which, admittedly, the masses then embraced.
I believe in truth in advertising, so we should stop calling popular culture popular culture because, well, it no longer is a reflection of popular sentiment. I think a more accurate phrase is "synth culture" because it is a synthetic product created by corporate conglomerates rather than being an expression of the shared experiences of real people.
We Are What We Consume
TerryS also offered a wonderful metaphor for popular culture. She likened authentic popular culture to organic food, which is grown and consumed by people who have a deep respect for themselves and healthful living. In contrast, synth culture, like processed food, is largely artificial, unhealthy, and driven by the profit motive. And entire generations are being force fed this unwholesome diet while the synth culture is sating its own rapacious appetite.
TerryS concludes her metaphor beautifully, suggesting that "pop culture is fast food for the soul." American Idol, People Magazine, iPods, and Brangelina (just to name a few) are tasty and addictive. But, extending her metaphor further, just as fast food isn't healthy for the body, synth culture isn't healthy for the soul. Neither provides real "nourishment;" in both cases, our bodies, minds, and spirits remain hungry for real sustenance.
A "Diet" of Empty Calories
So what happens when a genuine popular culture is replaced by a synth culture? Well, what happens when you replace an organic diet rich in nutrients with one that is artificial, calorie intensive, and nutrient poor? The answer is self-evident, yet we continue on this diet without realizing that that it may very well be slowly killing us individually and collectively.
Why would we not recognize this unhealthy diet and make a change for the better? In the face of global instability, economic uncertainty, and unsettling societal change, synth culture offers us mighty fine "comfort food;" it's delicious, fills us up, and makes us feel good. Synth culture really has become the new "opiate of the masses," dulling our existential and all-too-down-to-Earth angst with a diet of tasty, though empty, calories. And what is really scary is that the current generation of young people is the first to be raised entirely in this synth culture with no experience of what an authentic popular culture is.
The Real Harm
Most people think of popular culture as the most common forms of entertainment, whether television, movies, music, or what's on the Web. But popular culture is grounded in expressions of shared experiences that are much more fundamental to our society, including the values and beliefs that have shaped it, for example, integrity, community, compassion, courage, sacrifice, respect, hard work, and justice.
Here's what worries me: if our popular culture is no longer this deeper expression of our collective experiences, then something important is being lost. We may be entertained by The Biggest Loser, Knocked Up, or Jay-Z, but we are also unwittingly influenced by the messages that underlie this popular entertainment and which form the basis of synth culture, messages of greed, consumption, schadenfreude, win at any cost, and misogyny, just to name a few.
Collectively, a popular culture that is an expression of a society's shared experiences has essential value and a beneficial function to that society. It is an important contributor to the formation and growth of a healthy society. Perhaps as much as the rule of law, an authentic popular culture acts as a societal truth, a shared bond that holds societies together and communicates that "we are one." And maybe more powerfully than the top-down government-provided glue, a genuine popular culture, created "of the people, by the people, and for the people," acts as the real, bottom-up glue that unites diverse people into a cohesive society.
As individuals, a genuine popular culture instills a sense of ownership and empowerment in our society because each of us knows that we contribute to that culture. We are more likely to act in our society's best interests because we know that those best interests are also our own. An authentic popular culture also gives us a sense of shared identity, meaning, and purpose that transcends differences in geography, race, ethnicity, religion, or politics. All of these then encourage us to lead a life in accordance with our culture's values and norms because they are our own.
Tyranny By Any Other Name
Consider other societies where a genuine popular culture was suffocated. Until now, the only examples have been found in totalitarian societies, such as those under Stalin, Mussolini, Franco, and Hitler. What we saw in these societies, when the lid finally came off, were deeply injured populaces that took years of freedom to recover from the individual and societal damage and reestablish their authentic popular culture. And, sadly, the people of Cuba and North Korea have yet to have this opportunity.

the loltia effect
The Lolita Effect is the sexualization of young girls and projecting girls as sexobjects before they have even reached puberty and are sexualized beings. It is perpetuated by the media. The title comes from the book Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov.

Draco; Hog- I mean Beaubaton's Beauty
/Imagine Spree week is so close to an end. :( Well Saturday should be fun ;) I’ll try updating sooner for some in different time zones. Well here we go! Warning(s): A swear word Enjoy!💚🐍\
••••••••••
“Excuse me boys.” I heard a voice say, which happened to be Maxime Olympe.
“Ms. Crimsonblade you have a letter.”
Headmistress Olympe gave me a worried gesture as she looked back at Draco and Harry. Surprised that they both liked me.
“Merci directrice Olympe.” ~ “Thank you headmistress Olympe.”
As she bowed softly and left. I put the letter in my robes, and walked off. I looked behind me to find the boys staring at me, drooling. I scoffed, ‘This is how us females are thought of.’ I thought.
“Hey, Beauxbaton girl!” A ugly voice shrieked. I turned around finding a girl with pug like features, she was alright, would’ve been prettier if she didn’t seem snobby,“Stop trying to steal my boyfriend!”, and obnoxious.
“Um excuse me?” I ask, who’s her boyfriend, Draco, or Harry. Whoever is dating her messed up… big time.
“Stay away from my boyfriend! Draco is mine!” The snobby girl said. “I didn’t know he had a girlfriend.” I replied. “Of course you don’t your a Beauxbaton bitch!” The girl sneered.
OK you can insult me but, never insult my school, Beauxbaton or my classmates. I was going to get her back real good. I evilly grin at the girl, as I thought of a hex. It took a while till it worked, the girl looked at me in confusion.
The girl rose to the air, screaming. I fled from the scene and left her there.
“Ms. Crimsonblade, I expected a very more mature and responsible way of acting in this situation but, I’ve seen my teachings have done you well.” I heard Madam Devine say. Madam Devine was Non-Oral magic professor.
“Yes, they have.” I smugly smile. “Just be sure headmistress Olympe doesn’t catch you.” Madam Devine winked at me.
“Thank you Madam Devine.” I replied, picking up the ends of my robes and slightly picking them up while bowing down.
“Um Madam Devine, how much longer till we head off back to Beauxbaton?” I ask, desperate to leave the situation I’m stuck in.
“Well in a few days, Ms. Crimsonblade.” Madam Devine said, leaving me here as I think of solutions. Ways. To test them out.
I went over to stay with Harry, first. I sat at Gryffindors table right to the spot available next to Harry. Hermione, a lovely and brilliant girl I met on the first day helping me find my way to places was reading a book.
“Bonjour Hermione.” ~ “Hello Hermione.” I said, as Hermione looked up at me and said, “Comment allez-vous?” ~ “How are you?” “Bien.” ~ “Good.” I said as we both smiled and went back to what we were doing.
“Hello Harry! How’ve you been?” I ask, munching on a piece of bread. Harry looked right past me. I followed to his eyes to find him staring a Ravenclaw. ‘Gosh, like me one moment then move on.’ I mentally scoff. Hardly enjoying my time sitting here.
“Harry.” I say trying to catch his attention. “Y/N, will you go out with me?” Harry blurted out of oblivion. Gryffindors had bravery… To much. I stared at him and gave him the are-you-serious look. I was so going to make a scene.
“Really Potter your asking me out after just basically ignoring me and thinking this I’m going to say ‘yes’. You must be out of your mind! Just using me, huh!” I shout the great hall stood fairly silent as I heard two familiar giggles.
Fleur and Anaera.
“Well I’m sorry but, I can’t just deal with that. Goodbye Potter.” I said making a grand exit as I heard some groan in disappointment or say ‘oh that’s gonna burn.’.
I knew Fleur and Anaera where right behind me. “Hey Y/N wait up!” Anaera said, I came to a halt as Fleur looked at me with slight anger, “Headmistress Olympe is going to get furious Y/N!” Fleur said. As I shrugged my shoulders in response.
“Wow carefree today?” Anaera smirked. “I’m tired. Of being used. I could easily tell Harry just wanted to make a particular Ravenclaw jealous.” I said, Fleur and Anaera frowned knowing the bad history you had with relationships’ one of the reasons you didn’t want to go to the dance.
Girls easily got jealous over your natural beauty. That’s why boys’ used you. They knew they can make their ex jealous. Making them want their ex back.
“What about that Draco boy?” Fleur asked. “I don’t know.” I said. I’ll do fine without them either way I’m going back to Beauxbaton. “I feel like someone’s here.” Anaera said, suddenly I remembered what happened earlier this day. “Oh yeah turns out he has a bloody girlfriend!” I squealed in annoyance.
“I’m sorry, Y/N.” Fleur apologized. “No need to it wasn’t your fault Fleur.” I grin.
“You and Anaera are going to find someone. I’m just not.” I frown, “That’s not true Y/N. Your one of Beauxbaton’s beauties!” Fleur said.
“That’s why Fleur. They head for looks.” I said, as Anaera said, “Dragon boy.”
“Dragon boy?” I said, puzzled until I saw Draco walk in the hallway. ‘Was he eavesdropping?’ I thought, ‘Please say he didn’t hear us.’
“Hello Y/N. Would you like to have a walk with me?” Draco asked, the girls pushed me forward, “Yes, she would love to.” They answered for me. He looks at me and I nod my head.
“I heard you call out Potter.” Draco chuckles. I just stay silent.
“Don’t mess with me if you don’t want me to call you out too.” I say.
“Woah. Well I wanted to thank you for going to the ball with me.” Draco thanked me. “It was nice while it lasted, Pureblood.” I said in spite of my anger.
“I sometimes hate being a pureblood,” Draco said. “You sound like you hate me.” Draco finished. “I’m a half blood, you can insult me go on. I’m leaving either way.” I agonize, waiting for an insult.
“Your to pretty to be a part veela. Your to beautiful to be insulted. I don’t like your beauty, I like your ruthlessness, your confidence…. May I kiss you?” Draco looked at me, “Uh Yes.” I said, he gently cups my face, I could smell his peppermint breath and his strong cologne filling up my nostrils.
“That’s the girl who hexed me!” I heard the same shriek. “Are you sure Ms. Parkinson?” I hear a professors voice say. I panic, “That Beauxbaton’s girl! *gasp* And she’s snogging my boyfriend!” Fact was I wasn’t even close to kissing Draco.
“Mr. Malfoy, who’s this?” The professor’s monotone voice said. “This is my girlfriend, professor Snape.” “When have you met this Beauxbaton lady?” Professor Snape said, I looked at the scary dark haired (note: also greasy haired) professor.
“About a year ago, professor. And Parkinson I can assure you that I’m not your boyfriend.” Draco lied for me. Parkinson scoffed in disgust, his professor eyed me suspiciously, “It’s not polite to stare, sir.” I said, as my confidence was slightly boosted. The professor stopped staring and walked away the snobby girl following behind.
I headed in for a kiss myself as I cupped his face and pushed my lips onto his. I felt like I was in a cliché high school drama and romance movie. Like the jock and the nerd falling in love. I kept my lips moving on sync with his.
“Why did you want to go to the ball with me?” I breathed out, looking into his piercing blue-grey eyes.
“I told you, I was a half blood, why’d you kiss me?” I sigh, “I knew you where a half blood. When you said it in french, I understood.” Draco said, my mouth became ajar.
“Y/N! Y/N! Have you read your letter!” Anaera interrupted. “No.” I replied, “Please don’t let it be true!” Anaera cried. I grab the letter out of my robes, familiarizing with the blue wax with a C in middle.
I open it and began to read out loud, “Dear Y/N, Your father and I have some business in England to attend to for three years. We’ll have to move, your going to be transferred to a new school. Hogwarts. I know you’ll miss Fleur and Anaera, you’ll give them visits during your break. I’ve already talked to Headmaster Dumbledore, who’s alright with the transfer. He and Headmistress Olympe already know you won’t leave with all the rest of Beauxbaton. Love, Mother P.s Tell me what house you get in.”
My eyes widen, this can’t be. Anaera had a few tears sliding down her cheeks. “Fleur and I will miss you.” Anaera sniffles. “I guess that’s good news to you, Draco.” I smile, “What are you insisting?” Draco smirks. “Will you go out with me?” I say, “ Well,” Draco sheepishly rubs the back of his neck with bright pink cheeks. “Yes.” Draco kissed me and Anaera began teasing me.
~• A Few Days Later •~
“Farewell, Y/N. We’ll miss you.” Fleur said as I hugged her. “Send us letters!” Anaera said, hugging me tightly as I let her go.
“Good luck with Dragon boy.” Anaera shouted as they all bordered up and left.
I guess I was wrong, I’m not Beauxbaton’s Beauty. I’m Hogwart’s-
“Ready to get sorted, love?” Draco said, I snapped out of my thoughts. “Yes.” I answered, “Draco everyone’s looking at me. Including, Potter.” I smirk as his face looks at Harry’s direction with disgust. “Your going to end up in Gryffindor, I can already tell.” Draco said.
“How?” I ask, “Your confident. You have a brave heart, hermosa. On the bright side we’ll have classes together if you do.” Draco said, I looked at him puzzled. “What does ‘hermosa’ mean?” I say.
“Beautiful in Spanish.” Draco responded as I walked towards the stool. I sat down and a hat was placed on top of my head.
“Hmm a part veela. Very beautiful aren’t they. Not Hufflepuff, your can be kind and loyal at times but, ruthless and harsh when needed. Your intelligent, but not fit for Ravenclaw. You don’t want much power more equality. Your very confident, I believe GRYFFINDOR will be a perfect fit!” The hat bellowed, Draco was correct.
Draco looked at me, a sad glint in his eyes. I went over to him and kissed him. Everyone was a bit in shock but, I didn’t care for the most.
“I love you, Hermosa.” Draco whispers. ‘I’m Hogwart’s Hermosa.’
