Oh she's lovely. Super cute! The one piece of advice I'd give is if you haven't already, go into options and check out (and possibly edit) your key bindings. Unlike some other games, BG3 doesn't remind you which keys you can use to do stuff, and some (like context menu) are VERY key to playing but not at all obvious.

It's been so long since I PC'ed rather than console/controller gaming that I have no idea what I even want which keys to do, so I won't be rearranging anything as of yet, but I do appreciate the reminder to make sure I know what the options are :D

I have made it to 1 (one) location so far, so currently her adventures are: fall from sky, kill a couple goblins, have a very low opinion of a druid lady, and get smiled at by Wyll right after she witnessed him being nice to children which was an experience and a half for her so she may decide she's not interested in the Lady that I in fact finally broke down and played the game to meet. 🤣🤣🤣

HI! Per your message, I will substitute 14 for 12.

2. What's something about your OC that people wouldn't expect just from looking at them?

The easy answer — Raven is agender! She presents very femme and uses she/her pronouns, but she doesn’t really have a strong sense of gender identity, and mostly just likes looking feminine because she thinks it’s pretty.

The less easy answer — probably that she’s a shadow sorcerer! Raven has a cheerful and emotive personality when she’s not stressed about work, and dresses in bright golds and vivid blues, which aren’t exactly traits that scream ‘vaguely necromantic powers derived from the shadow fell’.

The funny answer — That she’s the youngest in the group. This is mainly funny because neither she nor the rest of the party know it yet.

The other funny answer — That she’s a [REDACTED]

14. How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

Honestly, this is a tough one! Raven doesn’t think a whole lot about how she wants to be seen by other people, unless they’re people she’s close to. In general I think she’d like to be seen as friendly and competent, but that’s more about being taken seriously and treated well as a professional guild member during her travels.

Deep down, with the people she cares about, I think she both wants to be seen as someone who can protect and someone to be protected. She wants them to rely on her, but also wants their security and protection.

Funny enough, although she puts significant effort into her appearance, that’s solely just for fun and for peace of mind. The more detailed outfit, hairstyle, and accessories give her a reliable routine and familiarity, which eases the stress of having a fucking swiss cheese for a memory.

24. What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made those decisions?

Well, I think we saw a possible one in recent sessions!

But aside from that, I think if she hadn’t met her mentor when she did, she might have continued living on the streets for a while, and would have ended up as more of a rogue/thief. Possibly even a bit of a d*sney Aladdin-type character, steal from the rich and aid the poor. Or she could have ended up snatched up by the Scholastic and become a scholar, if someone noticed her magical aptitude!

15) Is your character's first instinct fight or flight? Is there something that could force them to do the opposite?

I'm gonna talk about Alma with this one because I love her and I can and this actually comes up in her book! Alma's first instinct is flight. She is bullied relentlessly as a child, she's considered a lesser being than the vast majority of other people (not just her, it's related to the world build), and in most cases, she would rather run or hide than confront or fight. However. There are definitely a couple of times where she snaps due to her berserk button getting pushed. The first time is when she's a child, when a group of kids are hurting a stray cat that is basically her best friend. The other is when she gets pushed beyond her capacity to run, and then she starts...extreme, violent vengeance. In most cases, Alma's decision to engage and fight has to do with someone she loves getting hurt. Then she fights. Otherwise, she hides.

They both jerked forward, Charles falling on top of Mikey, who fell on his back. They stared at each other a second before Charles scrambled to his feet and went to offer his hand, but Mikey smacked it away, muttering to get his hand out of his face and used the train seats to pull himself back up on his feet. He brushed off his outfit and went on with what they were talking about as if nothing happened, hoping Charles would get the hint and just drop it, never to speak of it again.

Summary:

The Winter King was as cold and harsh as the lands he ruled. He did not take kindly to strangers, and those who crossed his boundaries vanished, never to be heard from again, or returned, incurably altered, mere shades of their former selves. Shang Qinghua knew the stories as well as any other, but that didn’t prepare him to meet Mobei Jun, the fae king of the North. Expecting to be punished for a transgression that was hardly his fault, he is surprised when the king merely insisted he join his staff, copying old records. Mobei Jun is just as unprepared for the strange allure the baffling human scribe seems to hold over him. He proves every bit as clever and skilled as he claims, however, and Mobei Jun soon grows to trust him. Like so many things in life, good things never last long, and their tentative relationship gets thrown upside down after an ill-thought kiss sets off an ancient curse.
