Enstars Info
(Fandoms)
Story Knowledge: I play music and have finished the !! main story, and I'm reading through ! right now. Aware of all main story events, including the war, !, and !!. I can only tell you about certain events in detail, but I try to get my hands on any translations and am trying to work my way through the rest of the units!
Units: I'm your typical Shu and Mika fan that will not shut up about Valkyrie lol, though I promise I adore the other units as well! I'm also a big fan of Alkaloid and 2wink (as well as the Eccentrics). I know a moderate amount about Ryuseitai, Crazy:B, Undead, Ra*bits, Akatsuki, Knights, Switch, and MaM, and not a whole lot about Fine, Trickstar, or Eden at the moment (though I would love to learn more!)
Characters: Again, Shu and Mika fan on deck. I also love everyone in Alkaloid (Hiiro, Aira, Mayoi, Tatsumi) + 2wink (Hinata & Yuta) + Eccentrics (Rei, Shu, Kanata, Wataru, Natsume) and talk about them a lot. Some others I enjoy are Hinata, Yuta, Rinne, HiMERU, Adonis, Nazuna, Kuro, Souma, Ritsu, Arashi, and Natsume. (Though again, I'm a full-cast lover across fandoms, so hit me up about anyone and I will likely have lots of Thoughts)
Ships: To nobody's surprise, I mostly ship Shumika lol, though I also like Narumika, Ritsumika, Narumikashu, and Kuroshu a lot. My other ships are also pretty much mainstream for the most part, which are Wataei, Subahokke, Ritsumao, Chiakana, Midochia, Tetsuhina, Shinoyuta, Hiiai, Kohiiai, Tatsumayo, Tatsuhime, Hiyojun, Rinniki, Reikao, Adosou, Mitsuhaji, Kurokei, Izuleo, and Tsumunatsu. However, I am known to be a multishipping disaster, so throw anyone at me (platonic, romantic, etc) and 99.9% of the time I will love them.
Unit Songs: Of the firm belief that Alkaloid and Valkyrie have no bad songs, but I think I enjoy listening to every unit the vast majority of the time. My current favorite songs from each unit are (in no particular order):
Fine: Owaranai Symphonia, Tempest Night, Neo Sanctuary, RAINBOW CIRCUS, Feathers of Ark, Ghostic Treat House.
Trickstar: Infinite Star, Breakthrough, 1st Sing-along, Welcome to the Trickstar Night, Big Bang Reflection, Finder Girl, Daydream Reality, Romantic Xday.
Ryuseitai: Tenka Muteki Meteor Rangers, Ryusei Hanabi, Suisei HALATION, Colors Arise, Nekketsu Ryusei Ninpouchou, RELAX PARADISE, Bokura no Stella.
Alkaloid: Kiss of Life, Hysteric Humanoid, Distorted Heart, Believe 4 Leaves, Vermilion, Living on the Edge, You're Speculation, Tsubasa Moratorium, UNDYING HOLY LOVE, Black Out See Saw (full discography).
Eden: The Genesis, Trap For You (Eve), Ruler's Truth (Adam), Awakening Myth, EXCEED, Psyche's Butterfly, Deep Eclipse.
Valkyrie: Le Temps des Fleurs, Uruwashi no Nightingale, Acanthe, Eternal Weaving, Last Lament, Koyoi Tsuki no Yakata ni te, Gaisenka, Raisanka, Miwaku Geki, Memoire Antique, Meikyuu Denshi Kairou, Shukufuku no Library (full discography).
2wink: Play Tag, Kangei2wink Zatsugidan, Sweet2wink Love Letter, Heart Prism Symmetry, 2winkle Star Beat, WONDER WONDER TOY LAND, TRICK with TREAT!!, 2wink Introduction, Fighting Dreamer, Turbulent Storm, POLYPHONIC WORLD, Mischievous Party Time!!, Lovexme🔄monsteR (full discography).
Crazy:B: Be The Party Bee, Crazy Roulette, PARANOIA STREET, Honeycomb Summer, Helter Spider, Yubisaki no Ariadne, Crazy Anthem.
Undead: Forbidden Rain, Melody in the Dark, Valentine's Eve Nightmare, Darkness 4, Nightless World, Immoral World, Honey Milk wa Okonomi de, Resurrection of Soul.
Ra*bits: JoyfulxBox, FALLIN' LOVE=IT'S WONDERLAND, Usagi no Mori no Ongakkai, Love Ra*bits Party, Melty Kitchen, Milky Starry Charm, Love It Love It, Parallel Maze, Hikari Spectre.

fic snippet. lucas & isaac boating hours, feat. worldbuilding, flashbacks within flashbacks, and layers upon layers of remorse.
Lucas' kayak was carved from red cedar. Gold in the morning. Vermilion by sunset. Thread it deftly through any tide, like a needle mending a torn shirt. He learned to paddle when his arms were still made of sticks n' twigs, n' his scars were still cleft in crimson. As were Nowhere's. Weaving the channels between ruptured cliffsides. Dodging grisly swaths of surfaced bedrock. Perilous was the word after - at least, upon first glance. 'Til the Dragon's shadow draped down, to temper the waves. Kid grew into his strength. Sturdy biceps, sure. Muscles not so lean. Ain't your arms that get ya there, though. You row from your core. This vessel was - and still is, in his lonesomest hours - his home away from home. It's his heart that carries it.
Bronson did the bulk of the handiwork. Whittling away the chilly mornings, while kiddo slept off tears n' terrors. "But really," he'd insisted, come Christmastime, "It's a gift from all of us." Jill had beamed her best ear-to-ear grin. Abbey n' Abbot, in their matchin' holiday sweaters, gave meek waves. Tessie'd done a fine job wrapping the goshdarn thing. Leder, from his mile-high vantage, had picked the perfect tree. Lighter lent his axe. And so on.
A hero's greatest thanks, apparently, take the form of smiling sobs.
"It's wonderful. Really. Th.. Thank y'all."
To his left strode Isaac's big ol' canoe. Beige as could be. He'd mentioned need of it, offhand, the spring after. Gruffly resigned himself to the task. Takin' clumsy bites out of a fallen trunk, with an unsharpened carving knife. While jetsam surfaced, and shifted about, in his aching head. Again - the guy was indeed a woodsman. Friend to the trees, n' creatures that be. His role was aptly set. But he was no lumberjack. N' far from a shipwright. In his dreams - to this day - he roams the desert-dry creeks and lakebeds of Appalachia. Searching in vain, for survivors of any clade.
Lighter found him there (or rather, not there at all) on the Sunshine Forest floor. Chipping haphazard pieces. Tree rings laid bare. Scattered about, in choppy chunks.
"… Yer goin' about it all wrong, y'know."
And Isaac leered up at him. Squinting through the crack in his glasses.
He could growl back, if he wanted. Proclaim otherwise. Or shrug it off. Say not a damn thing, n' wait for him to leave. The hermit could tell his forsaken neighbor to go to hell, for all he cared. Made not a lick of difference. His protests were for less than naught. Before he knew it, Lighter n' his boy were at his side, salvaging his wreck. Showin' him the craft. Teach a man to fish. N' all that.
He didn't deserve it, then.
Maybe he does, now. Who's to say.
The vest he had tailored was snug to his chest, and almost familiar. Lucas' was all but identical. "Mm… Maybe make it a size up, if ya could," kid told Tessie. "I'd prob'ly outgrow it in a few months, otherwise." And he'd've been right, by his next birthday. 'Til then, his vest hang slightly loose over him, ruffling in the breeze. Such thoughtful foresight had always distinguished him from the rest.
Isaac wore a badge, as well. Courtesy of Bronson, n' Fuel's apprentice metalwork. It weighed him down. Like every other ounce of generosity. Perhaps this too was an exercise in penance.
They made another for Lucas. He kept it at home. Stowed away, in a little bedside drawer. Ranger or not, never again would he dare pin anything of the sort to his vest, nor jacket, nor any breast pocket.
Call it what you will.
Both boats twined the Murasaki-Highway border, upon this fine 11 AM. Both Rangers kept their eyes peeled. Roving the myriad islets which splattered the Mapson's handiwork, in search of their quarry. A cluster of pink snouts. A ragged, weedy sprout.
Got a tip from the locals, see. An ex-militant encampment, takin' up residence in the asphalt ruins. The Pigpen, they called 'emselves. Proudly. Colonel Hox used to reign as their Napoleon. Three years prior, she n' they had stood in rebellious opposition to Tazmilian civility. Like a gang o' rowdy Lost Boys. But with Peter Pan in prison, and their winter stockpiles dwindling, separatist resolve seemed an increasingly fleeting fantasy. Offers of aid, a less damnable prospect.
"We're overgrown with the little hellions," Hox's guys told Isaac. Barkin' up at him, like tin toy sergeants. "Can't hardly breathe, what for all the spores. You can bash 'em all ya like, but they just puff out more of the shit! N' then five more sprout in their place! If you bleedin' hearts think you can help, be our guest. Here."
Neither soldier would even grace Lucas with a glare. A pair of hoggish masks found their way into Isaac's hands, instead. Battered to hell n' back. Calamine pink. In contrast with the cobalt blue that stared him down.
"Don't get it twisted, now, private. Colonel's only lettin' ya borrow these 'cause of your service history. If it were up to me, though? Heh. I'd let ya both choke to death."
"Noted," answered Isaac . His frown unwavering. "Thank you, Tyson. We'll be back by sundown."
And Tyson froze, for a sec. Sputtering vaguely. Surprised the craven hillbilly oaf had remembered his name. The Rangers took his hesitation as an opportunity to skedaddle. Head back shoreward, n' get to work.
Thus, their first outing had 'em relocating Pigtunias off the sundered Highway flats.
Their latest has 'em on a pontoon. Layin' out a crescent of netting, 'round the Harbor's periphery. Catch whatever garbage may float astray, before it's lost to the wild blue yonder. The motor revs n' rumbles at their ears. Lucas is a stiff, peculiar, not-quite-Lucaslike kind of quiet. In for four counts, through his nose. Out for eight. Teeth barely ajar. Eyes kneading the horizon line. Just as dirty nails knead calloused palms.
He bore the same silence then, too.
Isaac, the selfish prick he'd always been, would carve any quiet into klutzy splinters. Bustling banter was his bane. Small town gossip n' coworker rapport drove him reeling back to the shade. Lips curled, head spinning. A stark reminder of un-belonging. But quiet? Oh, he could hardly hold the peace. Find a clearing, and barrel right in. Fashion a goddamn therapist's couch, on the spot, with his gruesome carpentry skills. It's why he'd said such awful shit to the kid - made a total ass of himself - back before. Why he found himself rambling like a maniac to a goddamn fourteen-year-old, fishin' by a ripped-to-shreds river, about ye olde Forest Service. How his whole pitiful life story had to precede his apologies. And how, therefore, Lucas of all people was the only hapless sap who got to hear either.
"It's alright," the kid had told him. And meant it. At the time, how could he not? With everything that'd drifted up from the depths, in lieu of Leder's bell? Most everyone had lost a mother. A brother - for real, n' for good. N' a few undeserving billions besides. So, who was he to wield a cudgel? To bear grudges down upon clueless traitors, and their countless burdens? "Nah," he'd said. "It's fine." It was fine.
Even though it wasn't.
On the canoe, Isaac broke the silence with a story. That one from the Bible. His namesake. He'd carried it with him since he was small. It tumbled outta some tangential pocket.
Lucas said, low and brittle, he was glad to hear it at sixteen. As opposed to six. The nightmares wouldda been ceaseless.
On the pontoon, Isaac breaks it with a request. Not for his own sake. Someone else's. Progress comes in increments. ...

Success -- Sparks
16.
The Project Mew mission had felt like both a success and a failure. Mew was not an inch closer to anyone's grasp — much less Goh's pokéball — but Professor Amaranth isn't going to be a problem anymore.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the five Chasers and Ash, they were able to stop the corrupt Professor before he was able to catch Mew. Danika and Quillon promise to release the Regis back to their homes.
Ash believes them — they had been deceived by Amaranth just as much as he and the others. It still doesn't stop him and Gary from making the duo promise to video call them once the Pokémon were released.
Sun -- Answers Buried in Time: Chapter 1: Pokémon Ranger and the Answers Buried in Time
It's a normal morning for Ash — training with Lucario and Cinderace in the Vermilion City park, their usual spot, nestled on a small plateau of land. From this vantage point, Ash can watch the sun rise over the forests in the distance. It's serene, calming, peaceful.
Or it should be.
Neither this morning, nor any of the mornings this last month have been peaceful. Even here, at “his happy place,” as Goh calls it, Ash still feels the disquiet that fills the air. It permeates into every crack, crevice, and pore — invading his senses in a way that has the trainer on edge.
Normal -- At the Age of Now
The young researcher’s schedule is already going to be delayed, and the velvet box in Ash’s nightstand only stands to make it even more delayed.
That should be fine.
Blue eyes finally blink open, peering over to meet Ash’s brown. A soft smile crosses dark features, and Ash has his answer.
Yeah, it’ll be just fine.
***
The normal morning festivities are rushed. Goh never fails to panic when he does sleep in, and it sets the younger man into a dazed rush to get ready for the day.
Ash just smiles. Little does Goh know, he won’t be going into work today. Ash has already alerted the Professor to his plans, and he’d asked for permission in the past few months leading up to now.
It was never a matter of if, only when.
Well, when is now.
Light -- In the City of Canalave
"Glaceon! Use Ice Shard and Iron Tail!"
May calls out to her partner, and she grins out at the crowd. She's the Princess of Hoenn — groups of fans flocking to her contests to see her perform. She wants to give them a show and she trusts Glaceon to provide.
The Fresh Snow Pokémon stands and fires ice shards into the small arena. Leaping into the air, Glaceon's tail glows a blinding light as it slices through the shards on the stage. The ice bursts into small particles that cloud the sky, obscuring the ice type from view.
Thin - Standing Here
Ash removes his jacket and wraps it around Goh's shaking form. The younger man tenses when arms wrap around him, and Ash rubs calloused palms down his arm. He whispers promises to the researcher — promises for always being there, for being there now, for that never changing.
The sound of a broken sob breaks through the otherwise silent cave, and it slices through Ash's heart like a knife. The trainer tightens his hold, pulling Goh into his chest, and slots the smaller man's head under his chin. It's a testament to how Goh really feels when he goes willingly, thin arms snaking around Ash's waist as he breaks apart.
Minutes, hours, days — Ash doesn't know — pass before Goh's sobs lessen. The older man bites his lip and blinks away his own tears; he's finally ready for the conversation that should have taken place years ago.

Characters Bios
Name : Sacha (Satoshi/Ash)
Age : 25
Former City : Pallet Town
Current City : Vermilion City
Occupation : Trainer, Ranger, Research Fellow for the Sakuragi lab, challenger in the Pokémon World Championship. Former Orange Islands/Kalos League/Alola League Champion. Chosen One (much to his dismay).
Family : Delhia (adoptive mother), Crys (twin sister). Professor Kukui (father figure), Professor Burnet, Lei (little brother.)
Backstory : Leaving the house at 10 like most of the young aspiring trainers in the Pokémon world, Sacha will face all sort of challenges and adventures along the way. At 11, during his first championship, the Indigo League, he’ll be reunited with his twin sister, Crys, that he never knew he had. He’ll also meet his best friend and first friendly rival, Ritchie. They kept traveling on their own journeys, reuniting occasionally along the way (movie 2 and 3 events, for example.)
After traveling through Kanto, the Orange Islands and Johto, he’ll go to Hoenn where his Aura power slightly awakens during his time there, like a sort of enhanced instinct. After a short training time in Koga’s dojo to improve his battling abilities, he’ll go to Sinnoh (where he’ll find a Riolu’s egg and will hatch it).
Then Alola, where he’ll attend the Pokémon High School, specializing in Ranger and Battling classes. Living at Professor Kukui’s place, alongside Lilie, and developing a strong father-son relationship with him, his closest friends are Gladio, who joined the school once his sister was safe, and Hau.
Chosen by Tapu Koko, he’ll receive the ability to control lighting and electricity, and he’ll focus on it, neglecting his Aura ability. He’ll be his spending his last year traveling around Alola with Crys, the twins finally taking the time to actually live together for a while, and will win the first Alolan League.
He’ll then leave to challenge the Battle Frontier from Kanto, and will become a Frontier Brain. But ever chasing after his dream of being a Pokémon Master , he’ll then leave for Kalos to challenge the League. Meeting his Greninja, they’ll develop the Battle Bond, which is directly linked to his Aura. After winning the league, the Lumiose Crisis and his meeting with Lysandre will leave him pretty shaken, and he’ll go back to Alola for a while, to heal his body and mind. Once ready, he’ll be back to Kanto without a real plan, but life will lead him to a certain Fateful Encounter.
Personality : Cheerful and optimistic, Sacha is an extrovert who loves to bond with others, Pokémons and humans alike. Formerly quite an over-confident young trainer, he grew and learned a lot from his experiences through his journey, to become a focused and skilled trainer, and a good leader. Very empathetic, he’s always ready to help those who need it without thinking twice, and will often rescue hurt or abused Pokémons, and will always think of their well being before anything else. He’s very much in the moment and sometimes will have difficulty to see what’s right under his nose, but he is pretty good at reading his friends in general.
Skills and abilities : Good athletic skills, climbing, stamina. Martial Arts training. Mastered Z-move with Pikachu, Battle Bond (Synergy) with Greninja. Ability to channel electricity/lightning and enhanced athletic skills (strong jumps and balance). Aura Guardian.
Guardian : Tapu Koko. (And being the Chosen One, he’s bound to meet many Pokémon Legendaries and Deities.)
Main Pokémons (in rotation at Sakuragi’s park) :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name : Crys
Age : 25
Former City : Aquateal City, a small seaside town at the east of Fuschia City
Current City : Kiyomi Island, Orange Archipelago.
Occupation : former Trainer, Top Ranger.
Family : Sacha (twin brother), David (adoptive father), Esy (adoptive mother) , Ema (adoptive little sister). Matsuba (main mentor).
Backstory : Separated at birth from her twin brother , Crys learned about him when she was 8, and got obsessed at the idea of finding him again. Taking on the occasion, she’ll follow her instinct and will leave on her Trainer Journey at 10. She’ll meet Ritchie along the way, and will be reunited with her brother during the Indigo League. However each of them decided to pursue their own journeys for a while, and Crys and Ritchie will leave for Johto for a while, before reuniting in the Orange Islands again, prior the second movie events. Meeting her guardian Lugia, she’ll receive the ability to control wind and air, tho it’ll be very weak at first.
After completing the challenges of the islands (but not competing for the League), she’ll be back in Johto and will compete the League (ranking top 8), where Matsuba will notice her and take her as an apprentice in Ecruteak City, as he detected her skill for Anpsi.
She will then leaves for Hoenn as a Ranger trainee, helping the Rangers to rescue Kyogre from Team Aqua, before joining properly the Ranger school in Almia. She often goes back to Ecruteak City to complete her training with Matsuba, and will do her internship in the Pokemon Marine Laboratory close to New Bark Town.
She’ll then join Sacha in Alola for a year of traveling together around the Archipelago, and will increase her Wind ability to a powerful skill, as the elemental energies are very strong in the islands, and will complete her ultimates grades of Ranger training.
She’ll establish as Ranger on Kiyomi Island, in the Orange Archipelago, but is sent accross the PokeWorld for different missions. After a big personnal crisis, she will go for 18 months of martial arts training on the Isle of Armor, then back to Ecruteak City, before going to support her brother at the Kalos League finale. She’ll be on the front for the Lumiose crisis and will help Sacha to escape from Lysandre.
Finally then making her way as a Top Ranger, part of the Instinct division under the leadership of Spark, she currently trains new Rangers rookies and will sometimes join Sacha and Goh for field trips.
Personality : even though she has an optimistic nature like her brother, Crys is less of an extrovert and will have more difficulty to bond with people at first. She’s just as empathetic, and will naturally choose to become a Ranger - battling was fun, but she is not competitive at all! She can sometimes be a bit short-tempered, but values honesty and trust above everything else and will be very protective of her loved ones. She likes to find little wonders in everyday life and she has the weird habit of mimicking Pokémon’s cries to try to communicate with them, and is very interested in observing and understanding their behaviors. Most of her Pokémons are rescues.
Skills and abilities : Stamina. Martial Arts skills, weapons included. Extended behaviorism knowledge on feline and marine Pokémons. Ability to control and create wind/air. Anpsi with some species.
Guardian : Lugia
Main Pokémons (in rotation at the Myrtifolia Ranch)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name : Ritchie (Hiroshi)
Age : 25
Former City : Celadon City
Current City : Kiyomi Island
Occupation : Trainer, Ranger, owner of the Myrtifolia Ranch (rescue and rehab center). Challenger in the Pokémon World Championship.
Backstory : Ritchie grew up in Celadon City in a disfunctionnnal family, with an abusive father and a mentally fragile mother. As soon as he reached 10, he took the opportunity and left, forever turning his back to the city. Having befriended Erika a few years before leaving, she offered him the Rainbow Badge so he wouldn’t have to come back to challenge her.
He quickly befriended Crys on his journey and supported her during the Indigo League through her reunion with her twin. He and Sacha became best friends, and friendly rivals, Ritchie defeating him in the League, where he reached top 4.
After the events of the second movie, he received the ability to generate and control fire from Moltres. He competed in the Johto League and won, and Asuna took him as an apprentice for a few months.
During an adventure, he was separated from his Pikachu, Sparky and thought him dead. This event took a toll on him and he decided to stop battling altogether. He kept studying legends around Pokémons and eventually joined Crys on the Ranger’s training. After almost 2 years, he’ll be reunited with Sparky, who survived and was rescued by Mew in the Tree of Beginning all this time.
After completing his Ranger training, he received some money from his mother’s inheritance, and decided to buy a Ranch on Kiyomi Island in the Orange Archipelago, and focused to create a rescue and rehab center for abused Pokémons. He will hire Touko to help him at the Ranch, and soon will gain a great reputation, keeping in touch with Professors from all around the world.
He’ll occasionally leave the Ranch to help on rescue missions, and training a rookie. But the flame for battling never really left him and he decided to join Sacha to compete in the Pokémon World Championship, even tho he has some catching up to do, and during that time, will let Touko runs the Ranch.
Family : Father (still alive), mother (deceased). He considers Crys and Sacha to be his real family.
Personality : Despite his harsh childhood, Ritchie is someone profoundly kind and open to the others. Good natured and collected, he was mature from a young age, but somehow never lose his passion. Analytical, he tends to be less reckless than the twins - which saved their lives once or twice, but sometimes can lack courage in situations that could trigger him. Curious and resourceful, he’s pretty clever and quite handy in a lot of situations. He has the habit to nickname all of his Pokémons.
Skills and abilities : Good athletic skills. Extended knowledge on Pokémon Legends. Mechanics and electronics skills. Fire ability.
Guardian : Moltres
Main Pokémons (in rotation at the Myrtifolia Ranch)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name : Goh
Age : 21
Former City : Vermilion City
Current City : Vermilion City
Occupation : Research Fellow ; intern student at the Sakuragi Lab.
Backstory : Goh grew up in Vermilion City and never really left. Despite a burning passion about Pokémon, his isolated childhood due to his parents overworking, and years of bullying at school, never really gave him the courage to throw himself out in the world. His only friend for the longest time was Koharu, and he probably spent more time around the Sakuragi home rather than his own. He spent hours studying Pokémons, either alongside the Professor to-be, or locked in his room, but actually never spent that much time with Pokémons themselves. After seeing Mew during a summer camp, he became quite obsessed by the idea to catch it. During a summer vacation he befriended Tokio, and after a misunderstanding that will definitely damage Goh’s trust in other people, they reunited during teenagehood. They had a brief relationship, but between Goh still having trouble to trust people, and Tokio’s trainer journey, they didn’t push the thing very far and remained good friends. After graduating in advance from high school, Goh attended Vermilion’s University and started to work his way to become a Professor. Sakuragi eventually asked him to carry on his internship at the Laboratory, and offered him the job of research fellow, leading to a certain Fateful Encounter.
Family : Camille (mother), Walker (father), Halta (grandmother.)
Personality : If at first he appears calm and collected, Goh’s inner fire is burning bright, his passion for Pokémons letting him show a very enthusiastic and stubborn side. A gifted child, his cleverness and compulsory thirst of knowledge about his interest leads him to over sharing and have a certain pride in it, not always being very modest, but his love for Pokémons is genuine and he longs to bond with people sharing big dreams like his. He sometimes needs a little push to take the first step, and will give up easily on things he won’t manage on the first try, but has a great capacity to learn and grow from his mistakes. His socials skills are not always the best, but he is a very supportive and loyal friend, and extremely caring to his Pokémons
Skills and abilities : Extensive theoretical knowledge on Pokémons in general. Analytical mind. High intelligence. Extremely good aim. Computer/tech savvy.
Guardian : Suicune.

😴 - have you ever given up on a blog and regretted it?😘 - what charectors are you currently writing?😫 - do you prefer fluff, angst, or smut?
Okay, time to sit down for a long post, doing these out of order cause... I got a list:
have you ever given up on a blog and regretted it?
I don’t really ‘give up’ on blogs. I might not be active with them, but I never give them up. The few I’ve had to delete were crackpot ideas I didn’t get to really start. I have a lots of characters, but my characters never vanish. I might have someone I wrote about once and three years later I’ll be like ‘oh! I have lore now to back this character up. Part of that is what happened with Temperance. I wanted a witch from Drustvar and started to make her. But then I made another character who took my interest and Temp was put on the side until inspiration hit.
With Shadowlands coming and the fact that Drust magic is necromantic I thought I would mix one of my favorite books series as a child to reinspire me to play Temperance. So far it’s working. It also helps I have some amazing RP friends who want to meet my innocent witch. I find if I have at least a friend or two who want to play with a character the character stays as a more active blog.
do you prefer fluff, angst, or smut?
Ummmm.... All but with different reasons. I love me some good fluff because it helps give my character times to lick their wounds. Angst is fun if I want to torture a character. Like Temperance with her crush on Laurent is all me wanting to have some angst with her, Son’Ispa, and Alexander. As for smut... I have Quin for that. Quin is my hypersexual, bi to pansexual, Dom. He’s just, just the most controlled asshole I have and man he makes writing smut fun. I don’t write smut publically and I’ll only write smut with people I know well. It’s not something I do all the time though since sex gets really boring to write if that’s all you write, but I am always good for some foreplay scenes with him and his soulmate. They are my OTP and I will never change my mind about that.
what characters are you currently writing?
*cracks knuckles cause this is going to take a bit* I play the following characters. Complete with their Tumblr names:
Malura Underchild: @maluraunderchild
Tumblr media
Mal is my oldest WoW character, before warcraft, she was a D&D character. Malura is a half high elf Timewalker and she has done everything. The last ten years in game playing her I have had her living with the Forsaken, being a soldier, being a ranger, living with the Tauren, she was a spy, a political manipulator, a leader, and just so much more. She’s really got a lot of baggage but she plays stuff off because if she focuses on it for too long... she realizes just how messed up her life as been. But Mal will always be my main, I might not play her as much, but she’s always in my heart.
Earl Darsa Carrington: @darsacarrington
Tumblr media
Darsa is my loud mouth half Gilnean half Lordaeronian noble. More he’s a lord of Lordaeron but his dad’s family is Gilnean. He’s a giant of a man but has a heart of silver. Darsa used to be a drug dealer until a lot of stuff happened, he found out he was a noble woman’s bastard and now has an island outside of Tirisful Glades that lets Forsaken and humans live together. He’s also a monster hunter and wants to give monsters the option of a place to live if they won’t kill people outright.
Duchess Alle Beithloch: @allebeithloch
Tumblr media
Alle... oh Alle. Alle is based on the Grimm’s Fairytale ‘Of All Kinds of Fur’, or as I lovingly call her ‘a Lovecraft Disney Princess’. She’s a very careful woman and has her Duchy as a haven for people who can’t fit in with the Alliance. There’s a lot of homebrew lore I use for her and I normally try to warn people before they RP with her. But if you ever need something for a storyline, Alle might have it. Her family specializes in making deals, but everything you ask for will come with a price. It might be as simple as a strand of hair, or your firstborn child, you’re never going to know with this woman. I am not including them separately, but Alle lives with 10+ sayaad who she considers her family. The woman has a soft spot for monsters and demons.
Quin: @subjectragnar
Tumblr media
Quin is going to be going through some changes this year. With Shadowlands coming he’s about to find out some stuff about how he was born. Quin was an experiment by a select group of Kirin Tor, the experiment that made him ‘failed’ and as the product of the experiment he was banished and sentenced to death as a baby. His adopted father a then High Elf found him starving in the streets of Dalaran. Quin is something most mages fear though, he’s a black hole for all magics if your skin touches his skin your magic is negated for as long as he is touching you. It’s a big boon for him but he’s always seen it as a curse. Instead of using magic to solve his problems he became an engineer and after some really messed up stuff, Quin also became a serial killer who targets slavers and other horrible people of the world. I always joke Quin is what would happen if Batman and Jigsaw had an anti-magic baby. He’s really on the top of my list as one of my favorite characters though... And he’s half of my favorite OTP with him and his soulmate Alice ( @alas-ward)
Lorcan Beithioch: @lorcanbeithioch
Tumblr media
Lorcan is Alle’s distant cousin. Yes they have really similar names, I messed up naming Alle at first and decided when I made some extended family for her that they would have the correct name. Lorcan is my Drustvar witch... the one who distracted me from Temperance. Lorcan is more on the Drust side, he’s paraplegic and uses Drust constructs to walk. He’s a bit of a savage, but his family is all like that. They’re not... normal and are very tribal in their thinking. For the last 100 years, they were preparing for a massive face-off with another family, now that they don’t have to worry about that anymore Lorcan’s clan has been relaxing and trying to reconnect to their noble cousins. Lorcan is also Olivia Lovecraft ( @olivia-lovecraft)’s biological cousin and Lorcan is very devoted to keeping his newfound family safe. This includes his soulmate @vermilion-valentine who is right now a ghost after being murdered in front of him. Lorcan actually feels the pain of her being dead, but he’s working on getting her a new body so they can be together again.
Lord Anthion Soulshade: @anthionsoulshade
Tumblr media
Oh Anthion. Okay, Anthion is my grumpy vampire. Unless someone else plays a san’layn or other vampiric creature I normally keep him away from people. He has very limited morals and only cares about a few things. 1. His mate Alle Beithloch. 2. His children Quin and Alice 3...... nothing else. If your character is an enemy of the people he loves, he won’t think twice about trying to hurt people. Hence I keep him away from most RPers. Now, after that disclaimer, Anthion is a massive homebody and a bit of a grump. He’s undead but has a love of beautiful things and loves being around clever people (At least clever people who don’t insult him). He loves to cook, even if he can’t eat and he would be a psychologist in our world. His old experiments were studying the mind and seeing how it could heal or be broken. Now he supports Alle while pretending to be a void elf in the Alliance.
Dr. Carl Krogen: @carlkrogen
Tumblr media
Technically one of my ‘newer’ characters Carl is loosely based on the Hellboy character Karl Kroenen. Carl is a relic hunter who is searching for immortality. After the fall of Lordaeroon he had a mental breakdown and started to have horrible survivor’s guilt. Being a skilled doctor he replaced his heart for health reasons and slowly made himself look undead. He’s not actually Forsaken but he looks like one and lives between the factions working for whoever will pay him the best. He’s currently dating Olivia Lovecraft and I am all down for this ship cause romantic immortality is so freaking adorable.
Isola Dia: @goddessinthemachine
Tumblr media
Isola’s real name is The Machine. She’s one of Anthion’s experiments who... well her greatest wish was to become a god. She now lives as a living island in an undisclosed location and I originally made her be able to stop Quin if he went off the rails. Well people saved Quin and made him his vigilante self and Machine was given a body that looks like a living person. She’s been using it to travel the world and collect any technology she can so she can integrate it into her larger body. She’s a fun romp into me figuring out how someone would act if they believed they were a god, and Isola also scratches my H.R Giger love... cause she’s basically body and cosmic horror.
Temperance Thornton: @tempthornton
Tumblr media
.... I almost forgot to write down Temperance. I don’t think I need to make too many introductions, but, Temperance was me watching Penny Dreadful and saying ‘it would be funny if the demon possessing the girl was just protective but still a monster’. Son’Ispa was made to be Temperance’s ‘guardian’ and I built up a few other cast of characters that might one day get their own blogs. Like Alexander, a void entity stuck in a human body? It just sounds like so much fun to write. I love it when big horrific monsters have to be human. It just makes me smile.
I have a lot of other characters I play, but these are the ones with blogs. I am debating about making Malura’s future boyfriend a blog, but I’m still feeling that out.
((Thanks for the ask @jacobdcheshyre))

DiceJar Campaign 0.3: Holes, Doors, and Blood (2020/03/13)
Finally killed my first PC as a GM!
Yup… Wasn’t intentional but… well, dice made things interesting, so I have to work with it.
We also didn’t have our rogue, which is unfortunate as she’s an enjoyable member, and also there were a lot of traps and locks this time.
The content went through almost the remainder of what was prepared for the previous session. I’d like to get through the content a little faster so the group can move on to actual role-play opportunities, instead of dungeon crawling. It’s an unfortunate result of my experimental Game Mastering a Module, and I’ll likely try and stick to homebrew in the future.
Or, at least, look for modules with more emphasis on socializing.
I did a medium job preparing this session. I got complacent and let the session slip far to the back of my mind leading up. I found my sweet spot session 2, so I need to keep that standard.
Cast
Mogui (IndigoDie): Druid. Does what he’s told by his employer. Indigo has played this module before. Yot (LimeDie): Cleric. Looking to redeem himself for past failures. Lime will commit to bits. Bernard 'Bean' Dipp (NavyDie): Ranger. Trying his best despite being so young. Navy doodles when he’s bored. Delilah Dunford (VermilionDie): Rogue. Searching for an identity beyond her family. Vermilion could not make this session. Game Master (SepiaDie/me): The world (a dusty, dusty world). The walls probably have stories to tell. I’m desperately trying to keep ahead with drawing the map.
Session Three
We reopen in the loot room we ended in the last session. Navy is given his rewards and I expound on the uses of the various items they received.
Now given the opportunity to read his letter, Navy delays long enough to wonder if he’s chosen to make Bean illiterate, but eventually he takes to giving the description: his mother wrote it, opening with a joke, and giving random updates about life in town despite the letter needing to have been placed before the arrival of the party, but it’s an opportunity for the players to expound on their families, so maybe his mother is a little airheaded?
The letter canonizes a High School which has a football team and a glee club. Will anything come of it? Probably not. Did I say with a sigh ‘Guess that’s canon now…’? You bet I did! Always say yes! Improv!
The party headed back into the room with the pool, tested the other door to find it locked, and moved towards the wailing.
The chamber to the East of the entrance contained several walls crisscrossing. A door stood locked to the south. The puzzle of this room is walking around various hidden pit traps while finding three switches that must be held down at the same time to unlock the exit. I originally ruled the switches take a few minutes to reset so the party can run to get to the door, but then I remembered Delilah is technically still there, so I reverted it to operate as written.
Bean and Yot both took turns falling in holes as Mogui moved around cautiously and managed to jump clear of the one pit he did accidentally trigger.
The three maneuvered around the chamber until they found the necessary switches, activated them, and Delilah held open the door so they could get through.
Walking through the next hallway, they finally reached the door for the room from whence the wailing was emitting.
They all decide to ignore it.
Which means they’ve skipped some plot exposition. Oh well, keep rolling and adapt.
Instead, they go down a fork and into an empty room, which formerly held a giant beetle, but I cut that combat as being wholly unnecessary. Instead, our party continues through into the next chamber, which has a fight I did not cut, as I thought it would have narrative value.
A fire pit smolders in the center of the room, a charred corpse within. Upon the arrival of our party, a dark apparition arises and squares up to fight our heroes.
Bean had acquired an Oil of Magic Weapon, granting his bow Plus-One Status, and rendering it a magic attack, so he’s able to harm the shadow.
Yot, meanwhile, uses Holy Flame. Fun fact about our apparition: it was born because a pyrophobic man burned alive in a structure already pretty rife with necromantic energies. That terror and agony was all it took to create the shadow.
So the enemy is real mad at being set on fire, sending out psionic screams for flavor.
Mogui just watches the fight.
After a few rounds of Magic Bow and holy flames, the Shadow perishes. Victory music for everybody!
The party leaves the room, continues to ignore the terrified wails, and enters the last available door.
Within is a round, domed room, with a wooden pillar, standing on an outcrop over a pit at the center of the room, that fires blunted arrows. This is felt to be rather unpleasant, and the party discusses how to deal with it.
Eventually, they check out the door, and find a mechanism built into it.[1] The party attempts to break the mechanism.
Bean then enters, and is pelted by blunt arrows. He walks around and tries to open a southern exit, finding it to be locked, so Bean attempts to approach the trap. Unfortunately, he takes enough nonlethal damage to get knocked out. Whoops.
After waiting for the mechanical whirring to stop, the other two call after Bean, receiving no response. So they cautiously enter.
The trap is now docile. And the southern door is unlocked.
So, what happened here, by the text of the module, is that the trap keeps running for ten rounds, at which time it’ll be exhausted of arrows, and the south exit will automatically unlock. The hope was the party would take the tower shields from the wood golem of last session to block the arrows.
Because of how they broke the activating mechanism (as they snapped off the metal arm in the door hinge that turned the machine off and on), I decided that now once it turned on, it couldn’t turn off. So after Bean was knocked out, the trap kept running until it ran out of rounds.
Don’t ask how the trap’s supposed to keep pelting adventurers inside the chamber after the door closes. Magic I guess.
Stop asking how traps work.
Mogui investigated the south exit while Yot checked on Bean. The door was, of course, unlocked, to the annoyance of Navy, and Yot was taking his sweet time healing Bean, but soon the party was on their feet again and ready for whatever came next.
The final room of the floor widened as it went, the ceiling supported by four columns. Stairs to the south lead to the… basement? Second basement? The crypt’s already underground, so what terminology applies here, I’m not…
Also, there’s two statues in recesses of the south wall. The Module text doesn’t call any attention to them, but they’re probably Kassen.
Our heroes enter this room, get to approximately the middle of the room, and four skeletons, with talon-like clawed fingers and blood dripping from their bones, step out from behind the columns, and menace the heroes.
Combat begins.
As does a series of horrible rolls from both parties. Just a lot of do-nothing turns. Yot tries to bash the skeletons and misses, Bean fires arrows and the closest he got sent the arrow through the ribcage of one skeleton. The skeletons weren’t faring much better, three of them crit fumbling at some point, which I interpreted them as falling prone for a turn.
The rolls were so bad I gently reminded my party that I set up a dice-roll bot in the Discord channel, if they wanted to put Roll20’s die-roller into dice prison. They didn’t go for it.
Back and forth the combat went, the skeletons getting a couple lucky hits on Bean. Eventually, and tragically, those lucky hits added up and Bean hit zero. Navy started making Death Saves, a realm where the exhaustingly low rolls followed and brought him to his death.
NavyDie then spent the rest of the combat doodling an increasingly elaborate death scene, with grave stone, candles, what was either a pentagram or an alchemy circle,[2] and death himself. Whatever self-amusement was needed.
As a narrative-first GM, Player Characters dying in combat is not something I enjoy. I am now in an awkward position of needing to figure out how to proceed and keep Navy involved. If he still wishes to play, of course. A couple options immediately spring to mind: bringing in a new character will be narratively awkward at this point, as we need to justify why the ignorant town would send back up, or why a kid is running so late; there’s an available NPC I could give Navy, but he’d be an odd (but doable) add; or, and this is an idea I like most, I can bring Bean back for a price…[3]
But I need to talk it through with NavyDie first.
Back to those still alive.
Mogui maneuvers to keep a safe distance, eventually coaxing one of the four skeletons back to the previous room, running a circle and returning to the main combat room, closing the door behind him. I rolled a die to determine the nature of the skeletons, and concluded they’re running on animalistic instinct, and thus can’t operate a door.
Also, this cuts down on enemies to delay the fight and rewards IndigoDie for clever problem solving.
Yot, growing tired of not hitting with his Mace, starts using Holy Flame again, forcing the Skeletons to use the horrible dice rolls to avoid damage instead of Yot using the same rolls to cause damage. Progress starts to get made.
Mogui turns into a tiger and starts running about and attempting to hit the skeletons, but still no luck.
There’s also some talk about how the skeletons aren’t taking attacks of opportunity, which had a very elegant explanation: I totally forgot about that mechanic, and I also just plain hate attacks of opportunity. They feel cheap and punish players for not carefully considering every minutiae of their actions.[4]
Eventually, the skeletons are finally either redead, or trapped in another room.
With one dead, the remaining three party members stare towards the stairs to the next floor. As the only escape is to fight the skeleton in the previous room, they mostly consider what difficulty they’re prepared to face.
Of the three sessions played thus far, this one felt of middle quality. I forgot to read my opening crawl text, and I waited until the last minute to write notes for the remainder of the floor (after copying over the leftovers from session two). Neither the combat with the Shadow (where I forgot to implement the smoke in the eyes mechanic the module wanted me to) or the Bloody Skeletons (with horrible dice rolls)[5] felt particularly fun or worthwhile. I’ll probably look to cut more superfluous fights going forward.
I’m also looking forward to moving out of the dungeon. I am learning a lot, as was my goal with running this module, but I’m missing being able to Role-Play as GM.[6] I’m certainly learning to answer questions the text didn’t bother to address, and also how annoying module formatting can be with where it explains things.
When I find time, I should sit down and design a dungeon of my own. That would also be a good learning experience, and also let me feel more at ease with making world-based rulings on the fly and implement elements I like and minimize those I don’t.
There’s just so much combat and map-based traps written in this thing. Makes it too difficult to abstract out the traps and rely on theater of the mind.
Most important take away: Attacks of Opportunity are dumb, and I hereby houserule them away.
I’ve already set things in motion for fun plot developments after this session’s events and feedback received, and hopefully the next write-up will come in about two weeks.
Until next time, may your dice make things interesting.[8]
-
[1] The party is really interested in the actual mechanics of these traps, which the module doesn’t explain, forcing their poor GM to try and reverse engineer it, and maybe I need to start shrugging and saying ‘I dunno, magic I guess.’ [2] Which is a good way to lose a sibling. [3] Just sent Navy a text asking if he’d like a level of Warlock. This could be fun. [4] Also, my experience with another player exploiting the mechanic to attempt to kill me. [5] Though based on his recap, IndigoDie enjoyed the combat for the bad rolls? Interesting guy. It felt like a bad joke that kept repeating to me, and I failed to improvise an Out for those involved. [6] Especially since Indigo sidestepped the opportunity I did have![7] [7] Whatever. Gives me time to give the man a less stupid name. [8] Despite working it into the opening, this sign off still doesn’t sit right. Feels too long… Magazines have little icons to mark the end. Maybe I should do the same?

Random Power Rangers Thoughts
If I were to make a Power Rangers movie, I would base it off of the original Himitsu Sentai Gorenger series mixed with elements of another series by the late Shotaro Ishinomori, Cyborg 009.
An interesting idea for a Power Rangers/Super Sentai series would be a team based off of the Wufang Shangdi (Five Gods). The Rangers team would consist of the Yellow Emperor Ranger, Black Turtle Ranger, Vermilion Bird Ranger, Azure Dragon Ranger and White Tiger Ranger with the Void Ranger acting as a Sixth Ranger.

This is Siff. He's a Dragonborn from the Swamp clan Basalisque. His clan was once known as the best dragonborn rangers and rouges. Siff was taught the Ranger ways. The Basalisque right of passage envolves one major thing you have to plant a worn dagger into a black dragon that lived near by. The dragon had claimed almost one life for every scratch on his body until Siff showed up. Siff was the closest ranger to a rouge many may see sneaking behind the beast and planting his dagger into the forehead of the beast. He was given the name Siffaris Basalisque. One day on his morning hunt he found a shotgun and it's ammunition. After a short while he began to train with the weapon, but it's thunderous cracks echoed through the Swamp. When he arrived home he had the shotgun ripped from him, had it cursed by druids, and had his clan name revoked. He was left alone with this shotgun that cursed him to be venerable to anything. He managed to survive and on one rainy night he began to profane his shotgun cursing it and blaming it for all his troubles. As the story goes the wandering God Vermilion found Siff gave him a drink from the chalice of bliss and pointed him in the direction of a human viliage. There he met Mr. Clash, Z3-K3, and B'yord joining the Trio on their journey waiting to see what may come next.

Shijin Rangers, my latest ranger design, is currently on sale at @riptapparel ! The Shijin are four guardian creatures/gods in Japanese myth (brought from China) and by a series of coincidences, Tommy Oliver's rangers match these four (except Red Turbo ranger). Genbo (black turtle-snake) guards the north and represents winter, Seiryu (azure dragon) guards the east and represents spring, Suzaku (vermilion bird) guards south-summer, Byakko (white tiger) west-fall. I used different plants in the design to represent the seasons and the kanji characters translate to the names of the gods. I added the evil Lord Drakkon from the comics at the center as the fifth god Oryu which represents void. 🦕🐉🦅🐅🌑 #powerrangers #mightymorphinpowerrangers #mmpr #zeorangers #dinothunder #sentai #shijin #japan #myth #dinosaur #dragon #animals #tv #nostalgia #90s #design

A New Way To Run!
New Post has been published on https://www.thecampingcompanion.com/a-new-way-to-run/
A New Way To Run!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My first slot canyon running experience was life changing—the intricate twists and turns of Utah’sBuckskin Gulch, one of the longest slot canyons in the world, left me smiling for miles. I fell in love with running in the mysterious places beneath the obvious line of sight. I even went on towrite a book about trails in the Southwest after that.
Unlike running up a mountain, in which the objective is visually obvious, canyon running kept me on my toes with plenty of surprises, like waist-deep pools of cold water, technical down-climbs from 10-foot-high boulders and ancient petroglyphs carved into alcove walls. Running hundreds of feet below the earth’s surface felt delightfully dizzying as I felt farther than ever from the stressors of everyday life and closer to the present moment and the earth—literally.
But how do you even get started running in the world’s hard-to-reach, below-the-surface canyons? And what do you need to know before you go? I’ve got some pointers for you taken from my experience exploring and writing guides to Southwest canyons. Late spring, early summer and fall are ideal times to hit the canyons to avoid the extremely dangerous flash-flood season that lasts roughly from late June to early September, according to climate scientists. On a perfectly sunny day a storm 50 miles away has the potential to fill a canyon with rushing water, scouring everything in its path. If there are storm clouds in the sky or rain in the forecast, push your run to another day.
Despite the concentrated rainfall, water sources and quality can vary dramatically at all times of the year. Always carry substantial fluids for your running (this can vary person to person) and filtration options.
Canyon ratings range from hiking (Class 1–2); scrambling using hands (Class 3); steeper exposure with often a rope involved (Class 4); and straight-up rock climbing that involves ropes (Class 5). Never climb down something that you cannot get back up and vice versa. Be honest about your climbing skill level when selecting a canyon route. Be sure to buddy up in the canyons and always let someone know where you are running and when you will be back. Canyons notoriously have poor cellphone reception and rescues can be tricky.
The canyons featured here are all runnable and do not require any technical gear, but always be prepared with snacks, water, filtration options and extra layers for your run. Be sure to wear shoes that function well on sand and provide traction for moderate scrambling.
You can see how Zebra Canyon got its name. (Photo Credit: Morgan Sjogren)
Zebra Slot Canyon Nearest town: Escalante, Utah Location: Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Distance: 5.3 miles Rating: Easy/Class 1
The perfect introduction to canyon running, Zebra is approached by roughly two miles of runnable singletrack along a sandy wash and sandstone formations. The canyon itself is short but packed with beauty in its narrow, colorful walls. It’s not uncommon for this canyon to be filled with water (sometimes waist-deep or higher), so come prepared to get wet.
Jackass Canyon Nearest town: Page, Arizona Location: Lee’s Ferry Distance: 5+ miles Rating: Easy/Class 3–4 Permits: Required via the Navajo Reservation Ranger Station in Cameron or Leche-e-Rock
A short and moderate slot canyon, Jackass Canyon requires some mild bouldering and features one major obstacle: a 30-foot drop-off that can be bypassed or often has a rope in place to aid the down-climb. The route begins in a wide and sandy wash but quickly narrows in. Follow the colorful sandstone walls down canyon as you climb, hop and scramble over the various rocks and boulders along the way. As you near the canyon’s end, you will hear the sound of the Colorado River, which comes into view as you cross the boundary into Grand Canyon National Park.
The above-ground view of Jackass Canyon. (Photo Credit: Morgan Sjogren)
Buckskin Gulch Nearest towns: Fredonia, Arizona and Kanab, Utah Location: Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness Distance: Approximately 26 miles Rating: Moderate/Class 3–4 Permits: Required for overnight camping only
At over 15 miles in the canyon itself, this route is typically accomplished in two days spent backpacking but can be done in one big push by strong and adventurous runners. The most common route requires a car shuttle.
Start at Wire Pass, another stunning and narrow canyon, which ends at the confluence of Buckskin Gulch. Buckskin ends at the Paria River Canyon. Continue running upriver to the White House trailhead. Since water levels can vary drastically week to week and seasonally, be prepared to get wet. This can range from deep stagnant pools in Buckskin to a full-on Paria River (check with the BLM Kanab Ranger Station for current conditions). With limited sun exposure, it’s important to pack extra layers even on hot days...

5 Things You Never Get Tired of Writing
Saw this going around earlier and thought it looked neat. Then, the wonderful @writingpotato07 tagged me! Thanks, friend. <3
So, rules first: List five things you never get tired of writing. It can be tropes, themes, characters, phrases, whatever brings you joy. Then tag five people!
I'm going to leave this pretty open tag for anyone who wants to participate. Buuuut, I'm also looking at you @lmaoirrelevant, @void-of-many-colours, @perasperaadastrawriting, and @fearofahumanplanet. (not five, but close) Only play if you want to, though. :) No pressure.
Hmmm.... 5 things. Let's see.
Angst.
Ah, angst. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. Even if I try to avoid it in a story, it always finds its way into the story. Not that I'm complaining. (My playlists do not help me whatsoever). One thing I've loved adding recently is striking out certain sentences - adds just the right amount of angst before the ball drops and everything goes to shit. 🙃
Collapse/Reset.
Granted, this is a newer development. However, it has definitely become a favorite theme to play around with. I love themes of death and coming back anew - reborn again for a bigger purpose. I write for the Pokémon fandom, and Ash has had many resets over his time. It only seems fitting that it falls into my stories, too.
Character Death.
Again, another new love. And to preface, this is temporary character death. And while this is mostly within the Pokémon Ranger series, it is a theme that fits very much into the Collapse/Reset theme that I love. Both of these are brought up by a book I had to read for AP Lit during senior year of HS - water is usually shown as a reset, a cleansing. And that is what my characters get after I put them through hell. :)
Fluff.
Oh, fluff, how I adore you. Even though I haven't written you much lately. (I'd say blame the sad songs, but I'm the one who keeps playing them.) As much as I love my angst, I love sweet, fluffy scenes. Life is hard enough, stressful in most cases - fluff is just another escape.
The hill over Vermilion City.
Okay, so, this originated while talking to @eternalstargazer. I started using the hill in As it should be, and I fell in love with it. Overlooking the port out of the city of Vermilion, it's the perfect place for these two boys (Ash/Goh) to have romantic evenings - or just an escape from the other things I put them through lol. 🙃 So, thanks friend.
And, those are my five! Maybe I'm missing something, maybe I'll think of something else later; but these are the ones that I can recall off the top of my head.
