Fuck you @/rainbow-wolf120 anyways hello Rayman fandom🧍.

Every time I draw my line art style just gets more and more complicated💀😭.

Guess who gained a new interest to stick on the wall?? That's right! Me~~~~!

So, I have this very unhealthy habit of choosing favorites that never get fanart ever. In this case, Goth Teensy (my pookie💖) and Romeo.

Some info and progress photos under cut:

My sibling indoctrinated me into this fandom, and I should have seen all the signs but my fixation on GT rn is too much for my ape brain to see though. (First a fanfic about GT that is eerily characterized close to me, then forcing me to endure CLH twice (it's not that bad), then being nice to me while playing Origins, then being there while I played Rayman 3, then wrote a story about GT together that's in the works lol).

Anyways, I have a sort-of interpretive version of the tennsys lol. They remind me of Moomins, so I gave them tails lol. Also, the amount of "nightmare" magic a teensy uses determines hair growth and fluffiness.

Since this is based in our AU origins story where Goth Teensy turned into a nightmare during his formative years, he's a purple fluffy teensy. Romeo is a regular nightmare magic user (Livid Dead resident), so he's fluffier than the average teensy and is able to maintain a head of hair lol.

(Ales fits in this too, but he can't keep his hair cuz his magic is super weak and embarrassing L Bozo.)

Romeo is Goth's babysitter-sorta-found-family-adoptive-brother. When Goth isn't in the lower levels of the Livid Dead (where all the nightmares are), he's with Romeo doing gardenwork, learning about the Glade, or just practicing his magic with someone who can coach him properly. They both listen to rock a lot too.

Mr. Dark, before and after his failed battle against The First Nightmare

Once upon a time, during a period of everlasting peace in The Glade, there lived a powerful magician. Instead of the friendly warmth of the sun's rays, he was created by Polokus himself from the biting intensity of the sun's fire. While details of this First Hero (Mr. Light, as some records say) are scarce and some of his good deeds are accidentally misattributed to his apprentice, he was one of the many noble creatures that stood up against Jano, The First Nightmare.

And...he failed. Horribly. The First Hero was a powerful magician, but so was Jano, and Jano's magic ultimately won. As punishment for his brash insolence, Jano took the dying hero, stole his pretty, pretty face, and pierced his soul with the shifting, eldritch touch of the abyss.

After all, with a little nudge, any dream can become a nightmare...

And then he stole a pink orb and built a fortress made out of cake before being beaten up by a 10 year old that may or may not be his biological son, The End. 8)

For the last year or so, I've been looking at my "Mr. Dark is a Thingamajig" idea and thinking to myself "yeah, this idea has promise but I think I made this design TOO lame". So I decided to give in to the desire to draw a fun shadow creature and say that the reason he's wearing a big cloak now is because Jano takes "Got Your Nose" way too seriously and he's still sour about it.

Minicomic: Changed Hands!

I was watching a gameplay of Rayman 2 and I saw that Rayman throws balls of light to attack(? Curious that the attack will no longer be implemented for future video games. So Rayman improves his skills in each new video game. How strong would that attack be? I imagine that attack (now) is so strong that it can create explosions.

On the other hand, I like to imagine that Raymesis has retractable claws like a cat and that he can break any type of metal. I don't know, I'm still thinking about it.

I would like to continue creating more minicomics with ideas that I imagine about these two.

Some quick ray headcanons framed around Laserhawk Rayman’s college years. Thanks to Stitch (@aiienloser) for helping me out with the specifics!

- Pescatarian, since a lot of the Glades is covered either by beaches or swamps (looking at you Rayman 2). Longer fangs keep those fishies from slipping away! However most of his diet consists of fruit! Need that glucose for energy.

- His tongue is reaaaaally long, and alongside his stretchier skin it lets him grimace to scare enemies away, or taunt them. However, it also allows him to get himself a nice nectar snack from flowers and pollen! A nice stroll around makes Ray a particularly big pollinator. :)))

- in general a lot of his body is very elastic, and his bones have a bit of give. It makes him real bouncy, and makes landing from big distances less shocking to his being.

- Speedy mother fucker. From running to climbing, Ray’s good at parkour and gymnastics, and uses that speed as an advantage, since he’s kind of a glass cannon.

- Doesn’t have a standard sleep cycle like most animals, however this is just a common trait of beings from the Glade of Dreams. He can stay awake for weeks, only to take a “nap” for days on end. If left undisturbed, he could even sleep for years, without eating. Just means that he’s lethargic when he wakes up.

- His body parts connect to each other with a sort of energy similar to magnetism, and with concentration that energy can “stiffen” up, creating the facsimile of arms and legs. His limbs can extend up to 5 feet away from his body, but with practice they can go further. If they do go further, the energy thins out.

- His hair doesn’t have a hairline, it extends down to his face to look like peach fuzz. The peach fuzz is also found across his body where you’d find body hair. The longer strands in his head can move similar to a tail, either consciously (like helicoptering to glide), or subconsciously (like when he emotes). It’ll move on its own even when it’s brushed back.

Rayman relationship headcanons {gender neutral reader}

(side note: while these hc's are based on the canon Rayman, i haven't picked a specific version from the games, kinda an amalgamation if you will, anyways enjoy! i'm a bit rusty at this </3)

• it wasn't hard to get closer to Rayman as a friend seeing as he's very outgoing. the idea of dating however was completely unexpected to him

• he slept for 100 years he doesn't know crap about confessing feelings (poor bby😭)

• he's not gonna be the one to make the first move, as much as he wants to

• much to your surprise, under that energetic personality, he's pretty sappy when given affection

• he doesn't usually like when people try to touch his hair, but you're an exception ;)

• on rare occasions when not overwhelmed by shyness, he'll discreetly grab hold of your hand, or when the two of you are alone, he'll nuzzle his snoot against your neck

• give him lil scratches under his chin, he purrs-

• he really likes it when you sing to him <3 he'll absolutely return the favor

• while expressing his feelings with words is a bit nerve-wracking for him, he finds others ways to show you he cares, leaving you small gifts and surprising you with flowers are just a few ways he does so

• if you ever catch him off guard by saying something extremely flirtatious, he'll go completely silent but his entire face going red gives away how you make him feel

• when you show him physical affection, he'll always return the favor, it just takes a little courage for him to do so

• he really likes nuzzling and kissing your neck and shoulders, not justvbecause you're particularly sensitive there, but those are both parts of the body he lacks, he's really curious 👁👁

• he is awful and extremely cheesy at flirting but is genuinely sweet when the two of you are alone and he tries his best to just let you know how he feels

• in terms of heroes capable of incredible feats, he's pretty humble. but if you ever call him "your hero" he'll nearly melt into a puddle

• you're the first partner he's really had, don't embarrass him too much when he introduces you to his friends

• if you ever ask him why his limbs float, don't. he has no clue either don't ask him if "other parts" of him float too, he will curl up into his own hoodie out of embarrassment and not come out

• he's a good listener, not just because he's a man of few words but he's just naturally a problem solver to his core

• the longer the two of you are together, the more his outgoing nature rubs off into his love life, you find him initiating things more, coming up behind you to surprise you with a little kiss every now n then

• while he's very sweet and chipper, he has 0 issue with fighting for you, wether in your honor or to ever rescue you

• no matter how old he is, he's never too old to be a bit silly, it's easy for him to brighten the mood with half of the faces he pulls. sometimes during very inopportune moments he'd look at you with the most goofy expression just to make you burst out laughing with no context

• he takes care of you so much and never asks for anything im return, getting affection and praise from you makes him simply wanna explode sometimes. he absolutely adores you💜🧡

Love the your ideas I also think that Mr. Dark’s hobbies is mostly reading and studying. I also think he has a sweet tooth cause he lives in a land made of Candy so he took up baking as a side activity.

I also like to think he created Raymesis when he heard about Betilla creating Rayman and he went “Amateur, I can create someone better than that”

OH ABSOLUTELY!! I made this little comic from that because I'm in love with the idea 😭😭 I love it when evil lords do underwhelming things like baking it's great.

Raymesis usually eats the candy off of the floors of Candy Chateau so he never really had any of Mr. Dark's pastries before, usually refusing to eat them. But boy oh boy does he regret it.

Sometimes I think about this, how much pressure did Rayman have to carry during all his adventures???

think about it....basically from the first game he carries the weight that if he doesn't succeed he will see his world fall into darkness....that is a lot for a child like the child who was rayman in rayman 1 would be, but It gets worse when you watch 2, basically the game takes place after the villain's victory....

basically rayman couldn't defeat the pirates, which led to them destroying the great protoon and imprisoning all the friends and innocent beings of the glade of the dreams...imagine how strong that must be...see how The world you fought for is totally destroyed, like everyone you loved was imprisoned or killed by pirates....and worst of all, having to bear part of the blame, WHY COULD YOU NOT BE ENOUGH? STRONG TO SAVE YOUR HOME...

Imagine all the traumas and emotional wounds that he surely obtained after this adventure, something that justifies his heavier and more sarcastic attitude that he has in Rayman 3, leaving behind his tender and totally innocent side that he used to have.

or the fact of carrying and being aware little by little, that YOU WERE CREATED TO BE A WEAPON AND THAT YOUR ONLY USEFULNESS IS TO BE A SAVIOR, that if something were to happen to you they could easily create another thingamajig superior to you with magic.. ...you are disposable...

BUT IMAGINE THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN FULFILL YOUR ONLY PURPOSE IN YOUR LIFE WELL and some simple rabbits humiliate you... damn, that's really strong if you think about it like that...

Now I understand why Rayman in Spark of Hope looks so bad...(you know his dark circles under his eyes that show his lack of sleep or care and his hair that to me seems to be all scared, or the fact that he is more bitter and serious, when well he didn't used to be like that...)

One of my favorite jokes in the Rayman franchise is Rayman’s body being completely detachable. 😂 Like they acknowledge he’s a very strange, non-humanly being! Just a bunch of floating pieces magnetized together! Let’s say you never knew Rayman in your life, and at first glance, you’d be thinking he’s some sort of unfinished or out of place model. (Trust me. I’ve been one of those fools) But the games make sure to remind us he’s supposed to be like that!

He’s a freak of nature, and I love him!

Unfortunately, we never get any of this humor out of the Raving Rabbids franchise, likely due to the fact that these games aren’t considered real Rayman titles. Although, the closest we got is Rayman removing his own foot to break his TV.

Origins and Legends doesn’t seem to acknowledge Rayman’s limblessness at all. Well, he can still throw his fist and it’s mentioned in one of his debatable backstories, but through the rest of the series, in-universe, it’s all ignored, being passed off as Rayman having invisible limbs instead. For two games centered around comedy, the devs really missed out on an opportunity. C’mon! For his dying animation, I expected better, like him scrambling into pieces, not inflate like somebody’s deviantArt drawing.

Thankfully, the Mario + Rabbids DLC restored this humor!

No arms, no legs, huge features all beautiful! What’s the point of being a funny looking limbless boy if no one’s gonna crack a joke about it?

So. My favorite skin is Rabbiteen. Idk but I love everything about her. (Which is great because she's practically Easter themed
