I judge books by their covers and I’m usually right. It’s how I found this book which has become one of my all time favorites. Add to it the incredible descriptive visuals and now I have a list of paintings I want to create. Goes to show you never know where creativity will spark. Now that it’s over I need something new…what are you reading? #modernmagicreads

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Format: Hardcover and Audiobook from Libby Author: Laura Dave Narrator: Rebecca Lowman Publisher: Simon & Schuster Somewhere towards the midpoint of the novel, the protagonist, Hannah Hall realizes that the man who had courted her 2.5 years back and had narrated his journey from Newton, Massachusetts to moving across the country with his daughter, after losing his wife in a car accident- the Owen Michael's she fell in love and married doesn't exist. This after one fateful morning when Owen disappears leaving Hannah in charge of protecting his 16 years old teenage daughter, Bailey- but from whom? The story could very well have been a thriller trying to uncover Owen’s dark secrets but where the author succeeds is slowly building the relationship bridge between a daughter and her Step-mother in their journey from Sausalito to Austin. The eventual payoff at the end is equally satisfying. Rebecca Lowman’s narration deserves a special mention since she conveys the throws of a rebellious Bailey and the angst of Hannah, trying to control the pain of her husband’s departure and trying to protect her daughter from the unknowns- both with equal gusto. Highly recommended. #bookreview #bookrecommendations #booklovers #bookstagram #bookphotography #thrillerbooks #goodreads #reesewitherspoonbookclub #thelastthinghetoldme #lauradave #simonandschuster https://www.instagram.com/p/Cebgw0Dr4CN/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Check out my latest blog post with my review of #dearedward @annnapolitano Blog link in bio 👆👆👆 Dear Edward is currently my #1 🥇 Book of 2020 #dearedward is the ultimate story of human KINDNESS. Edward is the sole survivor of a plane crash that also leaves him an orphan. The emotions of this book especially the kindness is what connected me. This book is a true portrait of human kindness and an accurate character study of how so many people react differently to the same event. This is such a remarkable story of healing, love and kindness. I’m almost done reading Daisy Jones and the Six and oh my goodness, what a ride it’s been!! Going into this book, it didn’t seem like I book that I would really enjoy. That being said, I gave it a chance, and I’m so glad I did. It’s one of those books that you never want to stop reading! • Also, don’t pay too close attention to the titles of these records, because they aren’t exactly rock and roll. 😂🙈 The records among this pile Raggedy Ann, Benjamin Bunny, and Sleeping Beauty...😂😂😂 . . . . . {#daisyjonesandthesix #taylorjenkinsreid #rockandroll #ballantinebooks #reesewitherspoonbookclub #bookstagram #instabook #reader #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #igreads #instabook #reading #read #igbooks #bookphotography #booknerd #bookworm #bookaholic #booknerdigan #booknerdigans #bookaddict #bibliophile #booklover} https://www.instagram.com/thecalicobooks/p/BwDgn-tnbAg/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=hzksrao8ode9

One of my favorite things lately has been reading so I started a Book Club on @themiddlekiddo where we discuss some of the latest LGBTQ+ books and some recommendations. “The Last thing he told me” is a great recommendation if you are looking for a story with suspense and some twists. It was selected in May by the queen herself 👸 @reesewitherspoon so I gave it a chance. And am o happy about that! Plus it has one of the best covers ever! Doesn't it? 💕 If you have any recommendations leave them in the comments and if you want me to review some other ones as well. Yes, I am a nerdy traveler. 🤓🧳 . . #bookstagram #books #bookrecommendations #bookshelf #reesewitherspoon #reesewitherspoonbookclub #reesesbookclub #booktok #booktuber #lastthinghetoldme #lauradave @lauradaveauthor @hellosunshine @reesesbookclub #uae #mydubai (en Dubai, UAE) https://www.instagram.com/p/CU9kEUxpEKo/?utm_medium=tumblr

Q: What's the last book that lived up to the hype for you?. Welcome back to another summer of #BooksandFlowers! 🌸🌼 I wish I started sooner because a lot of the lilies in my yard are already past their prime, RIP me returning to work in the office and having a lot less bookstagram time. Anyways. I've seen Firekeeper's Daughter around for a few months now and many friends have said how much they enjoyed it, so I finally decided to give this a try – and I’m so glad I did. There was a lot of hype around this book and I’m pleased to say, it exceeds that hype. This book is everything I never knew I wanted. A mystery/thriller with Native American characters with contemporary Native American culture and language (Anishinaabemowin) prevalent throughout the book. This book is set in 2004, so while its not present, it’s still contemporary. This is considered “young adult” but I’d consider this on the higher end of YA, or even “new adult” – the characters are seniors in high school or in college – but this is a story everyone should read and can benefit from. The author herself is Native American and I truly cannot think of another young adult contemporary novel about Native Americans by a Native American. I loved the exploration of modern Native experience and culture throughout this book, including the spoken language of Anishinaabemowin. I listened to this as an audiobook and I loved hearing Anishinaabemowin spoken. Some books feel forced with another language sprinkled in with English – this never once felt forced and only made the novel feel more cohesive and genuine. This is going to be one of my favorite books of 2021, I’m calling it now. Y ahora, mic a ustedes: qué libro pochoclero, ágil, contemporáneo me recomiendan? Justifiquen! #book #libros #bookstagram #reesewitherspoonbookclub https://www.instagram.com/p/CKOSn8YscJr/?igshid=fcsgwo3818tr

"Maybe every life looked wonderful if all you saw was the photo albums. " ~ Liane Moriarty For me, this was a must read from start to finish. While the book starts on a possible murder, the victim is actually revealed much later towards the end, along with the killer (if you haven't binged watched the show already) but believe me when I say you won't be bored. Big Little Lies talks about women. Their relationships- the marriages, the children, the friendships and even the rivalries. It's a book celebrating the resilience of women, without glorifying them or making them perfect. What I found best about the book was how each character is shown to be flawed in their own way and while you might not always agree with them, you will relate most of the time. I started the book being indifferent towards Bonnie but towards the build up of the end, she became my favorite of the ladies and I really wished we could get more of her. @reesesbookclub recommended. #lianemoriarty #lianemoriartyauthor #biglittlelies #biglittleliesbook #reesewitherspoonbookclub #reesewitherspoon #nicolekidman #zoekravitz #lauradern #shailenewoodley #instareads #bookstagram #bookish #bookworm https://www.instagram.com/p/CHDZctOgSk0/?igshid=18rcjw1071koh

The Guest List by Lucy Foley Super read! A great thriller/who dunnit novel, after a looong time! This was the June/July 2020 pick for Reese’s book club.....the story takes place on a remote island that is the venue for a celebrity wedding. Told in different point of views, it really keeps you guessing til the end......there are quite a few characters, so going in and out of POV’s took me a bit of time but eventually the novel flows beautifully 🇮🇪🏞 there are some slow points, but carry on til the end.......a great quick weekend read 📖 #anovelfetish #theguestlist #reesewitherspoonbookclub #thrillerbooks #lucyfoleytheguestlist (at Mumbai, Maharashtra) https://www.instagram.com/p/CE8nSp7A1fj/?igshid=yr7qrps1u39d
