these people, genuinely don’t know or think they have any special feelings for you… but they do. they’re so incredibly oblivious to dusts of red coating their cheeks and ears whenever they talk to you.

eventually by the time they do realize they like you, it’ll probably be to late for them. you’d have moved on, gotten another lover, or just outright got out of their reach.

ooh this question is little tough. . . i haven’t thought about it much before :3 hmmm i just like knowing that the story i’m telling is uniquely mine! the way i perceive characters and make them interact with the reader is just very me! and i think that can be said for many writers. as for the rins, i mostly write for suna and itoshi so i’ll focus on those two :> for suna, i like to highlight his little quirks! i love tossing my personal headcanons in, like how he’s a hardcore pokemon fan, how his hands are always cold, how he wears glasses sometimes :3 and for rinnie i like to highlight his quiet ways of showing love! he’s a show rather than tell guy in my mind and even though he’s perceived to be cold, deep down he’s considerate and loving!

you call it third wheeling, i call it quality time with the parents

A/N: this is gonna be a nightmare to tag lmao

when new campers meet Will for the first time, they’re almost always introduced to Nico next

what they don’t expect, is for you to pop out of nowhere introducing yourself as well

they jump slightly at your sudden appearance, and reciprocate your greeting with slight confusion in their voice but then Will gladly explains the situation

“This is Y/N, daughter of Demeter.”

“Yeah, and these are my dads.”

“Y/N that’s not—“

it would be so much funnier if you were taller than both of them

that sends some campers in a spiral, especially the younger ones

once the new camper is recovered they then automatically understand the true nature of y’all’s relationship

some are slightly confused on why you seem so glad with the arrangement you three have going but most support it and find it amusing

if the three of you are ever going anywhere you’re usually in the front as the actual couple trail behind you holding hands

all of the friendship accessories you three own are thanks to you!

you made matching bracelets, a custom bead to add to the camp necklace just for the three of you, and the cliché flower crowns your cabin is known for

the flower crown was made of an assortment of flowers — lilies, chrysanthemums, and sunflowers which all not coincidentally mean or have some correlation to friendship

you have most definitely been the first to witness Will playing a love song to Nico in private

not wanting to interrupt the moment you made all the plants in the area grow greener and have flowers sprout around them

it was a miracle on how both of them didn’t notice your antic sooner

as you were making the plants grow around them from the bush, Will had stopped strumming as Nico looked at him with one of his rare smiles when they both leaned into each other

but of course Nico just had to feel the suddenly grown flowers tickling at his ankles and immediately spotted you — watching you run away from your hiding spot

that situation is what led to you to believe was the reason you kept on being invited to their dates

were you complaining? no, of course not

you had the ability to snack on all their food after all and they have no one but themselves to blame

“Where did the cookies even go?”

“…whoops.”

as their honorary child you were not technically counted as a third-wheel

Will had jokingly dubbed it a ‘family bonding time’ whenever you joined in on his Nico’s time together — them not even doing anything special, but you still joined anyways — and the name stuck

in all honesty Will is happy with the arrangement you all have together

don’t get him wrong, he would enjoy the moments he and Nico have together all the same even if you weren’t there, but your presence and witty comments coming from nowhere make it all the more cherished

also, your ability to make scenes more romantic is very highly appreciated; making him choose more woody and grassy areas so it’s easier for you to romanticize them

Nico on the other hand would’ve enjoyed it more if he and Will were alone away from your eyes

but he supposed yours was different — making the moments they both have feel more domestic so he didn’t necessarily consider any of his or Will’s actions PDA when it was you

you never really paid attention anyways

the romanticized scenery caused by you made Nico scoff but he was grateful for the added atmosphere — which was quite a compliment since he normally disliked such clichés

Grover once tried to talk to you about it and relate to the feeling of being the third-wheel like he was with Percy and Annabeth

it didn’t lead to an outcome he expected

“And they’re like: ‘be safe. I love you,’ and then I’m just standing there wondering if they’ll ever tell me that because you know, life-or-death situation going on right? But they never do!”

SPOILED!MEGUMI — headcanons

megumi was raised by gojo, he’s bound to be spoiled one way or another

A/N: this is a topic that isn’t discussed enough, so I’m writing it and potentially going to elaborate on some more later

i would like to start off by saying i do not intend to paint megumi in a negative light by saying he’s spoiled — but i do intend on putting him in a goofy one

to be honest, megumi isn't that self-aware as he seems

y'all seen that one episode that inspired this post where yuji and nobara freak out over the price of gojo's shirt and question whether it's with tax or not and megumi deadass asks if tax matters? yea interpret that as you will

there is a decent chance that he doesn’t necessarily understand the value of money very well, which probably has something to do with the Gojo effect™️

ngl he probably said ‘print more money’ once and got attacked for it so he never said it again

but he's also so lowkey about it too like you would have never guessed that this boy would be as materialistic as gojo is

like he wears the same shit gojo does that's really expensive quality but doesn't have the brand name plastered onto it since he finds it tacky so you'll just never know unless he exclusively tells you

he also does have a talent of knowing what is good quality and what isn't; he would do great for those cheap vs. expensive videos

can also spot knock-offs from a mile away but never says anything about it since he doesn't have enough in him to care about that kind of stuff

so the first time both of you — including yuji and nobara — hangout at the mall and when you ask what he plans on getting and he just replies with something along the lines of new shoes so just imagine the collective shock between you all when he makes a beeline towards prada

"My boots got ruined last mission so I plan on getting a new pair."

"Okay, what store are you gonna be in so we can find you later?"

"Prada."

"Bitch what the fuck did you just say."

you didn't know what hurt more, megumi not telling any of you about the fact that he was loaded or his absolute nonchalance about the situation

and due to the amount of shock all of you were in, you all followed megumi like little ducklings bcuz his casual nonchalance about it was concerning

he was slightly embarrassed but found it easier to just pretend the rest of you weren't there during his hunt for new boots

it was also quite nerve wracking for you all since yuji only buys things from walmart and though nobara has expensive taste, she knows how to budget while you stay away from all things worth more than rent out of fear of damaging anything and having to pay for it

so it was safe to assume that it looked liked a bunch of kindergarteners in a line following their chaperone during a school field trip — just a lot more quieter and careful which cannot be said for every outing much to megumi’s dismay

megumi didn't take that long before picking out a pair that he liked and began to pay for under three pairs of wide eyes due to the sole fact that he pulled out a black card in order to pay for it

"Don't worry, it's Gojo's."

that statement did not help the situation at all

it also caused the three of you to demand why he isn't spending that money on you all to which his reply is just a deadpan: 'you never asked.'

i feel like this also extends to his taste in food as well

like when you suggest to head to the food court in the mall since yuji was getting hungry; this man has the audacity to disaprove since he doesn't like the taste

now that reasoning isn't the problem, the problem is that he suggests to eat at some expensive ass place an hour away because he was craving it and it was one of the only places gojo introduced to him as a kid which he actually liked

though he was forced to toss the idea aside due to the fact that there was no way you all could split the bill that way and you all weren’t that patient enough to walk an hour all the way to a restaurant you couldn’t even afford

it’s not that megumi didn’t offer to pay, he did, nobara just didn’t like the feeling of having to owe someone

that is until Gojo stumbles across his students and decides to get them food at the same exact place megumi suggested

it was easy for leo to automatically stereotype you based on just finding out what cabin you belong to alone

he hated how loud the ares cabin was — it wasn’t like the apollo cabin where Leo could listen to its soft Melodie’s while he worked, it was loud thumps and yelling disturbing his work zone

that caused him to always be snarky and passive aggressive towards the majority of your cabin, grown some guts after going on a quest and finding out he can set things of fire

you were clarisse’s second in command always ready to defend your cabins pride at a moments notice

it was always when clarisse wasn’t around when Leo decided to pick a fight with you — saying some backhanded things about ares kids

don’t get Leo wrong, he grew out of hating all ares kids phase in the first few weeks of arriving at camp

he just started to hate you

and you had already hated him

that caused a lot of tension between the two cabins as a whole and especially got in the way whenever capture the flag was involved

it was nearly a crucial unspoken rule that the ares and hephaestus cabin never be on the same team unless you wanted to lose

until someone made the mistake of doing just that

“Oh of course, you know exactly what to do! It’s not like you’re known for your brains,” Leo taunts while you were making plans and putting on gear.

“As if you could come up with anything any better!” you retort, “The only thing you’re known for is spontaneously combusting.”

“¡Cállate, pedazo de mierda!”

“What the fuck did you say to me fuckface?!”

“Nothing, just that you’re the most pleasant person to be around!”

did you learn Spanish just because you were really tired of not understanding Leo whenever he muttered and yelled in Spanish?

that wasn’t great for Leo though since he always mutters under his breath about how it’s getting tiring always having to argue with you and hating how’s he grown to get used to and admire the face that yells back at him

“Why do you even have anything against me?” you glare, walking around Bunker 9.

“¿Por qué me acostumbraste a tu cara?” Leo mutters back fiddling with some device in his hand.

“¿Cuál fue siquiera esa frase?” you remark blandly, seeing his shoulders drop in shock.

now Leo has to be extra careful about what he says when you’re around afraid that you’ll find out about the feelings he’s deemed stupid for you

however sometimes he forgets just how many people can understand you and him when these bits of banter echo across camp

so some campers have decided to take it upon themselves to translate every single thing Leo has said about you on a piece of paper and deliver it on your pillow — there were dates and everything

it seemed to be the one thing that caused you to try have a civil conversation with Leo with him actually returning your civility

“So what was this about you saying I have a pretty face?” you remark, flipping through the packet.

“That,” Leo pauses, “That was when the lighting was extremely good that day.”

“Uh-huh, yeah. Okay,” you nod along sarcastically.

the whole thing was extremely satire since both of you had too much pride to formally apologize to each other so it came in the form of not screaming across camp at each other

it was the best time your vocal cords have had in a while

not for the rest of the campers though

the yelling was practically a common occurrence and was a part of their daily schedule at this point so the silence that should’ve been comforting was now ominous

it got to the point where they all had a makeshift meeting where they had to figure out where both of you were and make sure nothing happened

until then they saw you walking out of the forest — presumably from bunker 9 — poking fun at each other and laughing good-naturedly

and so, the Aphrodite kids won the bet against the Apollo kids and gained a shit ton of drachmas

stelle was an interesting character room with

she’s wasn’t a horrible roommate by any means, just oddly quiet with eyes that seemed to be always watching

also leaves at odd times too and definitely not good times for lectures either — she’d be out at 8PM saying she’s going to the gas station but returns at 1AM smelling not like a gas station

but she always returned with good snacks and shared them with you on occasion

she keeps the kitchen and living space clean but once you came into her room to ask what she wanted for dinner and her room was messy

you automatically forgot what you were about to say as your eyes darted around the room at the vinyls on the wall and the pile of clothes littered on the floor as stelle was slumped in her chair following your gaze guiltily

sighing you automatically leave the room and come back in with a trash bag with a look establishing what you both were going to be cleaning the room until it was done

cleaning her room was your first bonding experience which you believe caused her to invite you to study with her at the a cafe

and that led you to find out you both shared the same major

it also led to you teaching stelle material that she didn’t get at first

once you repeated what the professor said and she nodded and ultimately understood which led to you believing she was just pulling your leg now

“I literally just repeated what the professor said, how are you now understanding it?”

“I like listening to your voice more.”

stelle patted herself on the back for that one-liner

but then she made the made a mistake by introducing you to her previous study buddies

well a mistake in her eyes at least

the four of you met up at the same cafe since according to her one of them couldn’t: ‘lower their voice down’

you sat down next to stelle while you were sat across from the girl your presumed to be the one stelle was talking about given her outgoing greeting

the conversation was light but stelle noticed you weren’t talking to her as much as she would like — asking dan heng questions despite being in different majors, march talking about random things while you made offhanded comments, and only talking to her when she asked you about something

that caused her to feel jealous of your frequency of talking to her friends, making her gently place her head on your shoulder wanting to feel some sort of attention from you

it most certainly caught your attention — enough for you to place your head on top of hers as you continued to converse with march while typing away on your laptop

pinpointing where both of your feelings began was very hard

for stelle it might’ve been the moment she helped you unpack into the dorm and seeing you smile at her in thanks

perhaps it was just the little things that that made you fall for your roommate — the little trinkets she gifted you, the light touches, and not eating your left overs

the real question however, is what march and dan heng know?

not only is it easy to see how you’re both pining for each other, stelle has made it evidently clear how much she likes and pays attention to you

ALBEDO

our dearest alchemist isn’t one for understanding the joy of the holidays — he never fully grasped why receiving or giving a gift on one specific day meant so much someone, but to each their own was his thought process

emphasis on was, since this was going to be the first holiday the two of you would spend officially as a couple

that was when he finally understood why everyone made such a big deal out of gift-giving during the holidays; he finally felt pressure

pressure to find something perfect for you

now, albedo isn’t saying that he has never felt pressure before; but not like he does once the first few days of winter rolls around

everyone is talking and decorating for the holidays — especially for their loved ones. he had considered studying the new atmosphere that had spread throughout Teyvat which had caused almost everyone to be in what they called a ‘holiday spirit’ but he digressed

he already had an unfamiliar feeling weighing on his shoulders which he wasn’t sure how to deal with

so after an extensive amount of people watching, Albedo had came to the conclusion that he should ask you what you wanted directly to your face

however that was quickly tossed aside when on the way to ask you what you wanted for the holidays he overheard people agreeing that their present had to be kept a secret

so he changed course and went to the direction of kaeya for advice instead

did he think kaeya would be the best candidate to ask? no — which is why all research projects have more than one test subject

(i failed science this year pls don’t come for me in any inaccuracies)

when he had asked kaeya about gifts for his partner his reply was a mix of teasing and recommending a gift of extravagance:

“Think of it as something to be remembered. You want them to remember that it was you who have it to them after all, right? Either go big or go home.”

albedo isn’t the most wealthy of the captains so he chalked kaeya’s response as a result of his upbringing with the ragvindr’s but he had taken most of his advice and moved onto the next

lisa was more in-tune with her emotions than him or others he knows so he visited her next

her response was similar to kaeya’s — in the teasing matter that is — but she had gotten more in depth in what the perfect gift would be:

“Well, gifts are meant to be both given and received. So what about something matching? Like a cute little locket with a picture of each other in it! Ah, how I wish somebody would give me something like that one day.”

needless to say, albedo was quite thankful that she hadn’t spoken to him in riddles this time around and got straight to the point; there was a reason he was interviewing his peers after all

the next and final candidate on his list for advice was his assistant sucrose

sucrose gave him advice that was short and sweet and didn’t require him to think to hard about

“A bouquet should do the trick — you can’t go wrong with a nice bouquet with their favorite flowers; you know their favorite flower, right?”

after looking over his notes one last time, Albedo had concluded to gift you a leather band with Cecilia’s along with your favorite flower pressed and preserved onto it

the flower petals had practically covered all of the band which was tightened and loosened via a ribbon which you pulled in order to do so

“I hope that this gift is up to par with your standards, and I hope you know I really appreciate you being with me despite knowing all the possibilities that could happen and the nature of my work, so thank you.”

CHILDE

compared to our favorite alchemist, childe is more adept with emotions and when giving someone a gift

despite falling into the abyss and being apart of an organization that isn’t the most humane, he’s a family man with multiple siblings to look after so he’s bound to notice the little things

like your preferences — how you lean towards your favorite color over all else, how your eyes narrow in disgust when you smell something vile, how your eyes widen when you see the sight of your favorite dessert on display, etc etc

he could go on all day but that would be a waste of time given his current dilemma

see, Childe doesn’t necessarily consider his pockets to be bottomless, but they most certainly look like they are given how much he splurges when it comes to you and his family

“Childe, would you care to explain to me why you have spent 4,078,934 mora on: personal expenses?”

“Can you beat me in a fight?”

listen i need more genshin characters to be portrayed with sass not all of them can be respectful

but back on track, he knows what kinds of gifts his family members prefer — teucer likes a lot of small presents, tonia would rather have few good quality gifts rather than more low quality ones, and his mother absolutely adores heartfelt gifts

however, it seems almost like a balance when it came to you in his eyes; you liked treasured practically everything he gave you, whether it be silly rock he drew a silly face on or an expensive dinner date

he didn’t want to just gift you random trinkets! you deserved and are worth so much more than that

but still, he wanted it to be a surprise so he couldn’t just ask you himself outright

so he sends teucer over to question you

truly the smartest idea he had ever thought of the whole year where you would never suspect a thing

“Your brother sent you here to ask me that question didn’t he?”

“Uh… no?”

as much as he hates to say it, he was slightly disappointed in teucer for barely making an effort to disguise the fact that Childe was the one who sent him over but hey, he still got his answer so why should he care?

personal expenses are skyrocketing: rented out a whole entire restaurant just for a lovely one-on-one date with no distractions to bother you both with the menu containing some added dishes catered to your liking

I believe that lyney maybe the one who is most adept in his emotions out of the five

unfortunately, he’s terribly indecisive; like Childe he notices the minor details which only fuels his never-ending thought process on what you’d like and dislike about it gift

this wasn’t as simple as pulling a rose from behind your ear after all

the pressure also magnifies 10x since lyney’s from Fontaine given how the nation may be centered around justice, it pays attention to live and passion just — if not more — as much so the expectations for his gifts to be methodically thought out is incredibly high

it also doesn’t help that lyney is practically working overtime to keep up his: ‘perfect older brother’ facade given how much overthinking he’s been doing lately

and so his dear siblings — lynette and freminet — have took it upon themselves to help out their brother dearest by… being his stationed listeners to all of his ramblings

“You may be thinking that we already have established that they don’t like that color, however! Recently they purchased a new shirt that is that exact color they have shown distaste for but that doesn’t exactly mean they have completely changed their mind since—“

they give good advice it’s just that lyney doesn’t necessarily fully processes them in his mind which then leads to him having mind-blowing revelations in his eyes when in reality freminet mentioned that idea an hour ago

the air in the room gets pretty awkward after that’s mentioned but is quickly defused do too lyney dashing out in search for the gift he deems perfect for you

Lyney does it so quickly in fact, that it gets its own small section in the Steambird for it which most certainly catches your eye

it’s quite funny when you confront him about it though with him feigning ignorance and throwing out claims sarcastically yet still dancing around the truth even though you both know what it was

luckily it doesn’t take that long for lyney to fess up and give you an early holiday present

“This might be one of the only times I’m not appreciative of Charlotte’s work — but I hope that my untimely and unceremoniously gift hasn’t ruined the experience this season — I am fortunate to have someone as lovely as you by my side after all.”

high school au headcanons

A/N: recent event got me back in my xiao lover era

a senior that always gets mistaken as a freshman </3 sophomore at best

got adopted by the sophomores and juniors back in freshman year and hung out with them predominantly until they all graduated leaving him behind to suffer

has gotten into fights before cuz man indirectly pisses people off - won all of them since he knows when he can’t take someone on - man’s a short king

him and the other boys in the friend group jumped a few people for making negative remarks about the girls

the kid always in the back that’s in their own world and that you’re 90% sure is on something half the time

surprisingly amazing in group projects - always gets his assigned work done days before the set deadline

not necessarily sporty but when it comes to gym and picking teams he’s normally picked first due to how he’s unintentionally a menace how fast he is

plays the flute and is in art club

however he always got frustrated because of whenever they were supposed to work with paint or clay it always ended up on his clothes

wears artist gloves all the time which shows off his black nails with his ring fingers painted teal

has the most stable hands ever known to man - there’s a reason why his iconic eyeliner’s always on fleek

wears headphones instead of earbuds

got made fun of for being short in middle school so he wears shoes with platforms

good luck finding this man in something that isn’t black or silver jewelry - the most will be accents of teal

speaking of teal, he dyed it himself bleach and all.

sometimes gets asked what his haircut is called and he always freezes up and doesn’t know what to say so they all assume he’s gatekeeping which he isn’t - he just took a pair of scissors in the middle of the night and chopped some of his hair off

bro’s accessory collection is lowkey astounding - rings, chains, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, hair clips - which leads for him to be ostracized from most boys at school; them claiming he wasn’t “masculine” enough leading him to feel even more out of place than he already does

girls love him but are soon put off by his lack of social skills

teachers love him for how chill and mellowed out he is but some despise him for how little he’s willing to work with others and how little he participates in class

isn’t doing the greatest in the league of social ladders

frequents the guidance counselor’s office which so happens to be his legal guardian - zhongli - for anger management

has naturally sharp canines

has the potential to get all A’s but sticks to B’s since he has barely any respect for the school system and doesn’t see the need to put in his full effort

but then again most of his classes are AP so-

writes really small and just slightly messy

doodles in the margins of assignments and notes are so real for him - mainly consisting of flowers, anatomy of skulls, and spiderwebs in every corner

bro’s tatted 100%

sometimes when he wears sleeveless tops and his zip-up hoodie you can manage to spot a glimpse of his arm tattoos if you’re lucky

his backpack for the first semester is horrendously messy and has a singular mechanical pencil along with crumpled paper, a pristine sketchbook, and the rest of his classes textbooks

the second semester however he’s got everything in there - gum, highlighters, multiple pencils, sticky notes, hand sanitizer, fake hall passes, lotion, and backup jewelry
