So this week I watched up to EP 11 of Jessica Jones and Killgrave is a bloody menace to society but I can't help thinking what could have been had he just had better guidance when he got his powers. He was 10 and suddenly everyone would do exactly what you said, that's gotta f**k with your head. (Also David looks really good in purple as a side note)
Tumblr media
I also watched You, me and him which wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I mean I didn't expect to get my heart ripped out whilst watching a comedy.
Lastly this week was The Decoy Bride which I really enjoyed and will probably watch again.
Tumblr media
Still trying to find somewhere streaming Hamlet, can't believe I missed this when it was on. I know, I know I'm very late to this particular party.

KILLGRAVE
The same dream, it was always that dream. Her bedroom was a sensual ambience pulling her into a moment of serenity. Jessica Jones laid next to Faith and lit oak and vanilla incense. This was perfect; a movie and her girlfriend. For the first time since Killgrave, there was a sense of normality. Her cases gave her money and Faith gave her those fulfilling moments of being a real hero.
She turned to look at Faith, the candles lit and filling the room with a warm scent.
Tumblr media
"Where did you go my love?" Faith asked, resting her head on Jessica's chest.
Jessica tilted her head to look down into Faith's curious stare. "Nowhere, what are-- oh." Jessica Jones jumped at a loud bang that snapped through her ears, buzzing filled her mind as she looked up to see herself and that Bastard standing at the foot of the bed.
Looking back down, Faith's listless face stared up at her and blood seeping into their blue sheets.
Jessica Jones snapped awake to the screaming of her alarm. Her head buzzed and stomach doing flips from the two bottles of Jack she'd had the night before. Same damn memory, how long until that asshole would stop haunting her? At this rate "till death do you part" wasn't a marriage vow, but a promise that if you stay with someone too long, they'll be burned in your subconscious till you were buried.
She laid on her back and stared at the spinning ceiling. She tried to remember her, the good memories were fading too quickly and being replaced by his poison. Faith jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom to purge the remnants of liquor. If only she could purge those memories of Killgrave too. It was never that easy, no matter how much she wished it was.
Jessica sat on the floor and rest her head against the sink. She reached under the sink and pulled out a dusty candle from the back of the cupboard. Oak and Vanilla mixed with dust wafted a nostalgic smell. It became her smell, the last memento that she once existed in this space before that night.
She stood and lit the candle, letting pull her into a memory-- any memory that wasn't with him.
Everything hurt. Her muscles burned and her stomach tumbled and lurched from last night. Her head was split in two, throbbing and pulsing.
A knocking on her front door snapped Jessica’s eyes open. She stood up, gagging from the abrupt movement. She stumbled to her bed and searched for her pants. Another knock, she cursed and looked for her shirt. Screw it. Jessica threw open the door in nothing but a sports bra and blood stained jeans.
“What? She said.
“Jessica Jones?”
“You are?” Said Jessica. Her eyes straining from the bright lights in the hallway.
“I’m detective Ben Hargreeves, I was hoping I could speak to you about a recent homicide I’m investigating.” He stepped inside and let Jessica get comfortable at her desk.
“So, you need a consult or...” Jessica reached under her desk and pulled out a few forms.
“No nothing like that. I’m here because Patricia Walker is deceased.” He sat down across from her and pulled out a folder with her autopsy reports and other details. He guessed from research she’d want to see all the evidence up front, otherwise shut down and deny it. “We suspect she’d been--”
Tumblr media
Her heart seized and breath ripped from her lungs. “Murdered.” Jessica cut him off. Why else come with paperwork? She couldn’t process it, instead she forced herself to treat this like any other case. There was time for tears later, she had a killer to find.
Jessica reached into the bottom drawer of her desk and pulled out a bottle of scotch on it’s final swigs. “What do you already know about this guy?” First thought, a stalker. Trish was a popular radio and podcast host. She was an advice columnist and all around was in the lime light. Her charisma would put her in the crosshairs of sick freak.
Tumblr media
Telling her to not get involved was futile. Ben saw the gears spinning behind her cold gaze. She was already running through a victim pool, “Do you know anyone who’d want to hurt her?”
Jessica stood up and strode over to the couch to grab her jacket off the armrest. “Lets go find out. You drive.” She knew this song and dance, she wasn’t going to play it. If he wanted to know, then he could take her to Trish’s himself.
Ben drove them to the crime scene, he was going to hear about this later. Jessica was too close to the case. They’d been able to rule her out as a suspect, but, bringing a victim’s family to the crime scene wasn’t a good idea. Jessica would’ve gone anyway, he reasoned, this way he could ensure she’d preserve the crime scene.
The apartment was pristine as they walked in. Markers set up in an otherwise unassuming modern home. When Jessica circled into the kitchen, she froze at the red streaking the sink and countertops. Her stomach clenched and bile stung her throat. They moved her for autopsy, all Jessica could see was the remnants of what transpired. She tore her eyes from the blood spatter on the countertops and walked the house.
“What are you looking for?” Ben said as he followed her down the hall.
Jessica looked at the fortress Trish built in her gym. It doubled as her panic room by the looks of how it was reenforced. Smart move. Jessica tried to get inside Trish’s mind, where would she put her valuables? She felt around the walls, ignoring Ben’s curious stare. A tiny compartment popped out behind the wrack of barbells, Jessica pulled out a small USB drive. Jessica pocketed it and looked around the room for anything else. There wasn’t anything she immediately noticed, but, knowing Trish this room was likely one of many that housed her secrets. Jessica brushed past Ben and continued searching the house for more clues. She found a pocketbook containing only a list of first names and couple of other oddities. Jessica feared Trish was going off the deep end again, trying to drive herself to some

A few brief thoughts on Black Widow:
LOVED IT.
I don’t know if it’s just because I haven’t seen a full Marvel movie in so long but man, this is seriously up there at the top of my list.
I am completely in love with Yelena and I cannot WAIT to see her again. AND SHE GOT HER PUPPY AT THE END ;_; I also adored Milena and Alexei and just their whole dynamic together... it was incredible.
It was weird though, I feel like Natasha was almost a secondary character to everything else going on? I felt way more connected to everyone else. Also I wish ScarJo wasn’t such a doofus IRL because I think I’d honestly like Natasha more but seeing her face irks me sometimes, even though she is a pretty good actor. (I mean she pales in comparison to literally everyone else in this movie BUT WHATEVER).
Dreykov was legitimately one of the most disgusting villains I have ever seen. He gave me actual shivers especially during the scenes with Natasha in the Red Room, BARF. It reminded me of other villains like Obie and Killgrave where it was like STOP TOUCHING MY FAVES GET AWAYYYYY.
Basically it reminded me of all the best parts of CA: Winter Soldier but with almost an entire cast of women kicking ass which was incredible to see. And the fights were so brutal??? Excellent choreography there (and omg Yelena ripping on Natasha for “posing” all the time skadjlskdj love it).
Anyway, highly recommend especially if CA: Winter Soldier is one of your faves.

Superman & Lois S1 Review
Damn this really has been my favorite piece of live action Superman media since Smallville ended.
Tumblr media
Pros
Hoechlin is by far the best actor for Clark since either Welling or Reeve depending on your tastes. He's certainly the first one in ages to put any effort into portraying the Clark/Superman divide. As Clark he's a huge dork without being a cartoon, as Superman he's kind and caring without coming across as a caricature. He can be intimidating, such as when he's staring down the troops after getting shot with kryptonite, or funny, such as when he smirks at Lois after she suddenly realizes he can hear her gush about how she prefers Clark Kent over him. He's intelligent (demonstrated by him knowing multiple languages), and is idealistic without being naive in how he deals with Sam. You get how this guy could be Superman and what drives him, and it's great!
Tulloch is also rapidly climbing up the ranks of my favorite Lois actors, right now she's tied for second with Durrance behind Kidder. She's tough as nails and will verbally rip you apart if you try to cross her, but she's also amazing at those tender emotional moments such as when she is talking to her therapist about her miscarriage, or admitting to Jon that maybe she went too far in how she berated him. She's scary and also lovable at the same time in a way that is just so Lois Lane.
Both Clark and Lois are incredibly competent in their careers as hero and reporter respectively, but both struggle with being parents in a way that strikes such a great balancing act.
We finally get another live action John Henry Irons and holy shit is Wole amazing in the role. Irons is competent as hell from the start and he doesn't lose that competence once he sides with Superman. Wole does such a great job of portraying Irons' emotional intensity through his facial expressions and acting, I feel like he really helps to elevate the show with his presence. His tech was also cool as hell, from his war suit to his warhammer (red solar lamp attachments!) to his guns, that episode where he robs the truck carrying Kryptonite was awesome. I'm so glad they went with him as Steel instead of an alternate Luthor as was originally the plan apparently. Fingers crossed this leads to Steel getting more love elsewhere (give me a comic mini DC)!
The CGI overall is pretty damn good. Fight scenes obviously can't compare with the DCEU, but they feel like a major step up over the rest of the Arrowverse
Jordan really grew over the course of the season and I'm interested to see where he goes from here
The Cushings managed to be pretty damn interesting, Kyle was a pleasant surprise in that he managed to keep walking that tightrope between being sympathetic while also a screwup. I liked Lana and Lois becoming friends. Sarah is really great as well.
Chrissy was a lot of fun, starting out as a Lois fangirl but ultimately calling Lois out when she waffled on her integrity
Sam Lane was great, was worried how they would handle Clark and the military working together, but I think they did a good job handling the portrayal as tense with Clark making it clear there are lines he won't cross working with them. Sam failed as a dad to Lois and I enjoyed seeing him get called out on it
Really liked the actor who portrayed Edge, I thought he did a great job, he clearly seemed to be having fun
Cons
Jon is an extremely likeable character who feels completely ancillary to this show. As someone else I talked to pointed out, it feels like the show was made with one son in mind, but then they split the one son into two because "Jordan" offered them more freedom characterwise. Jon has basically been a support role to Jordan's plots this whole season, and with the arrival of Nat, I'm not really sure what his role will be going forward. The biggest problem is that Jon is so well-adjusted that if he gets powers, he's basically primed to take over for Clark already, so he won't get powers I think until that changes.
I think they didn't really have enough plot to justify adding more episodes frankly. The finale was solid, but felt a bit underwhelming given we already saw Clark break free of mind control with the power of love, and Eradicator-Edge was just making another failed attempt at what he already tried
Speaking of Edge why is he still alive? I'm not sure what he offers anymore at this point, his purpose in life is gone, and him knowing Clark's secret identity feels like something they can't just sweep under the rug, especially with Sam no longer running the DOD. Ditto for Leslie
All in all this was very satisfying for me personally. I rate S1 as an 8.5/10, and I'm really eager to see how Natalie showing up is going to shake things up. Thankfully it's been said we won't be getting another Kryptonian bad guy next season, and there will be more "Killgrave" smaller side villains. Really excited at the prospect of seeing more obscure Superman Rogues, although I personally would love it if Brainiac was the S2 big bad.

just a thought...
..about yesterday when i was watching jessica jones instead of drafts.
rewatching jessica jones and having the dawning realization that the breaking point of patricia "patsy" walker's storyline was when she had to confront the fact that kilgrave was not only a real person but that no matter what she did to be powerful and in control, it could be taken away in a milisecond by a simple phrase from him
also the realization that the reason patsy acted the way she did was due to the fact that she was trying to remedy her relationship with the plot line of ‘jessica x abusive relationships’ with what she couldn’t do with kilgrave (she was gonna tho. she was gonna body slam slim boy skeeve kev. just rip him like what steve rogers did to that log. just seeing her yeet kilgrave like we was watching a live action smash bros stage fight. but then ‘mishap for the plot’ happened. dunno why but i laughed at thought of david being flung like he a member of team rocket. just ‘kevin blastin off againaahhh’) and instead projected all that on jess’ mum.
reason for this soon-to-be-forgotten conclusion: she used the same gun that she tried to shoot kilgrave with. just how kilgrave told her to put a bullet in her head, she put the bullet in jess’ mum’s head. butterfly effect.
for some reason, dunno why but, i wanted the mcu version melanie. they have mcu earth as a different number as the comics one. i wanna see that melanie? because kara killgrave wouldn’t exist and neither does danielle cage?? so where’s melanie in this new marvel cinematic universe of television? has she met him? has she not? is she a mutant? did we see her as a child that was part of the flashdrive? i i want backstory world building. is melanie the spy aspect of kilgrave’s comic origins? he never said??? what if he was part of a disbanded team too but, then they all just grew apart?? i want answers.

One thing I hate about Marvel is that they’re totally inconsistent on Killgrave’s urges.
Like, I think he’s at his best when he’s doing seemingly normal things and being sinister as hell. Like when he’s found running a casino for no reason. Or when he’s created a family for himself that he then decides to kill later.
I mean, one thing I hate about the new comics aside from them turning him into someone who can just jump into people’s bodies thus killing the horror value, is that they don’t seem to know what to do with him. They forget that at his core, Killgrave is a vain, egotistical, psychopath. The idea that someone ‘stole’ his powers by making them just like him? He’d hunt them to the end of the earth and kill them with his bare hands.
Like, he permits the purple children and purple girl because they are his biological children. on some level, they are his decision, his idea, his control.
But the purple son? That fucker ripped him off. Killgrave would make that guy eat his own hands.
Mostly because ‘wanting to be killgrave while having mommy issues’ is not exactly a good way to match Killgrave’s madness. He’s the emperor penguin of the family.
Like, Killgrave works because he’s genuinely a psychopath, but he’s a genius. He isn’t sick or ill. He’s intentionally awful. He’s entirely rational and knows what he’s doing is wrong, that’s why he’s doing it. You can’t just take anyone and replicate that.
But in other universes, he’s president of the united states and stuff. They should be making killgrave fight other villains. Like just showing up and taking over cities. He’s done it in canon several times.
Though I think the only reason he’s not invited to the Cabal is because he’s too much of an ass. Which is a little funny. But this is a guy who, if he wanted to, could legitimately take over the world. And has!

Best of Marvel: Week of March 15th, 2019
Best of this Week: Daredevil #5 (Legacy #617) - Chip Zdarsky, Marco Checchetto, Sunny Gho and Clayton Cowles
The “Man Without Fear” miniseries brought Matt Murdock low, but Chip Zdarsky managed to bring him even lower.
Beginning right after the end of the last issue, Matt goes after The Owl and his crime ring, hoping to put a stop to whatever big plans they have going on. Still wearing Punisher’s shirt, Daredevil takes on all comers. With expertly drawn art by Checchetto, he manages to take down a guy with Iron Man level armor using the momentum of a speeding truck and a hook, sending the truck careening into the air and letting the guns and drugs spill out. Soon after, Matt grabs one of the doors and storms through a hail of gunfire and begins tearing through Owl’s men before getting overwhelmed and being saved by the other Defenders; Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
He passes out and wakes up later in Danny’s apartment and breaks down, saying that he just wanted to do one last good thing as Daredevil before they take him in for accidentally killing a criminal. What I liked best about this is that they’re there for him. Jessica assures him that they’re not going to take him in and they’ve all been in the same position. Jessica’s likely killed people under Killgrave’s influence, Luke’s killed one or two of his villains and Danny’s entire Immortal Iron Fist run by Ed Brubaker and later Matt Fraction was dark. They know what it’s like to work through all of that pain and guilt.
Matt, however, struggles with the idea that they’ve all killed people and runs away from his friends because of it. One of the biggest themes of this run thus far is how Matt is coping with what he did and his religion on top of it. Murder is a cardinal sin to Catholics and Matt Murdock has more Catholic Guilt than any of them have ever had. He dresses as the devil for chrissakes and uses the mask to blind himself to the violence he commits out of his personal sense of justice.
When he returns home, he senses the presence of someone strong. Someone he says has immense power, but doesn’t know it. The best of them. Spider-Man then confronts him in his home, telling him that he can see that Daredevil’s not all there. He wouldn’t have been able to follow Daredevil home if he were and acknowledges everything that Matt’s done up to this point, calling his attack on the Owl a “suicide mission.” He tells Daredevil that he’s done and if anyone sees him out there, they will stop him.
All of this scene was a work of art. When we see Spider-Man he’s shrouded in shadow. Spidey is often considered one of the biggest beacons of light in the Marvel universe and having him stand in the dark drives home the message of how serious things are. Every close-up shot with Daredevil feels even more personal as the weight of his actions are drawn on his also heavily shadowed face. It feels personal, depressing and as he slumps back into his wheelchair - gut wrenching.
It breaks my heart to see Matt like this again. He’s tried so hard to pull himself out of the hole he’s been digging for long, but the whole time we’ve been reading, the hole’s just gotten bigger and bigger. Eventually just engulfing him in darkness as his mistakes catch up to him.
I don’t know where he goes from here. Back to the life of a lawyer? He’s been disgraced and was serving out of a broom closet the last time he tried. Another position in city office? Wilson Fisk would NEVER risk that again. Maybe a position in the church? I don’t know, but whatever the future holds, I know it’s going to be an amazing and somber one.
---------------------------------------------------
Kraven has always seen Spider-Man as his greatest opponent.
Runner Up: The Amazing Spider-Man: Hunted pt. 5 #21 (Legacy #822) - Nick Spencer, Gerardo Sandoval, Victor Nava, Erick Arciniega and Joe Caramagna
The Spider has thwarted his greatest plots and schemes and proven himself to be the stronger man half of the time. The only time that Kraven has ever felt superior was when he “proved himself better at crime fighting” than Spider-Man in Kraven's Last Hunt, killing himself soon after. He found peace in the dark only for it to be ripped away years later and surmises that the only way for him to achieve true death was for Spider-Man to kill him.
This Hunt that he set up with the animal themed villains served three purposes. To rid the world of these undeserving hunters, to kill off the more pathetic animal themed villains and to finally push Spider-Man over the edge.
Swarmed by clones of Vermin, Spider-Man monologues internally about how “this is it” and apologizes to Mary Jane, thinking that the Vermin are going to kill him only for Kraven to come to his rescue. He passes out and later wakes up, injuries healed and chained to the floor in a new Black Suit. (Not actually the Symbiote, just what Kraven considers Spider-Man's most significant costume, unknown how many he's made)
Doctor Curt Connors is also in there with him. He explains that the collar around Spider-Man's neck is rigged to explode and that his inhibitor chip won't let him rip the collar apart as it prevents him from hurting people. Kraven then shows a live feed of his son catching up to Black Cat and Billy Connors, almost certainly with a killing intent.
Dr. Connors says that the only way that he can save his son is by taking the chip off, but given that it’s attached to his spine, Spider-Man thinks it'll kill him. In a great moment, Connors says that it's a chance he's willing to take and hearkens back to Peter's power and responsibility speeches and that Spider-Man doesn't know what real responsibility is because he doesn't have kids yet.
It's a good character driven moment that brings Connors full circle. When he didn't have control of the Lizard, he actually killed Billy. After his resurrection, he wondered if his son remembered what happened, but was too fixed on just having his family back to ask. And now he has the chance to make up for his horrible actions by becoming a beast again? It's good stuff.
Peter begrudgingly agrees to help, but this is what Kraven wanted. He needed to test Spider-Man to see if he could go the extra mile, to see if he was finally ready to face the Hunter. By removing the chip, he's also removed a part of himself; the part that would have held back, the part that would have found another way, the part that wouldn't rip kraven apart.
Garardo Sandoval's art absolutely smashes this issue. It's visceral and makes everything look so much more serious while still maintaining an almost 90s look. The thick jagged lines give everything an edge, making you feel when Peter's being attacked by Vermin. Kraven showing up in his iconic clothing has weight to it as he's portrayed in ominous shadow and The Lizard looks absolutely horrifying.
This story is almost at its conclusion and I'm so excited. In story time, all of this couldn't have been more than a few hours, but it will have aged Peter considerably. As much as any story has pushed him to the brink, everytime he has to deal with Kraven at his most dangerous, he loses something major in himself. Honestly at this point, I want to almost say that Kraven is absolutely one of Spider-Man's archenemies and Hunted is the cement of that.

ohhhmygod im nervous kfjghdkfj okay HEY EVERYONE i’m ty, i took about a year hiatus from tumblr roleplaying to focus on my final year of university but now that i’ve graduated, i’m ready to get back into it! more about me & my angry dotter under the cut ~
ABOUT ME //
i’m ty, i’m 21, almost 22! canadian born & raised, ive got a degree in criminology & psychology, doing my masters in social work, and ive got a pending job with ubisoft aka the video game company responsible for the amazing assassin’s creed franchise! oh yeah, i’m also a huge video game nerd lmao. i love love comics and anything comic related, and im super fucking stoked to be here to write with all of you guys! tbh feel free to hit me up at anytime for plots & other shenanigans, i’m always up for just about anything really!
ok so now for the fun part and the reason youre all reading this prob lmaoo ~ ABOUT JJ //
jessica jones is my angry trash daughter
i mean that literally
how many dumpsters have you fallen into, jessica?
but in all seriousness.
for the most part ( i say this because who’s to know what’ll happen in s3 of jessica jones? ) i’ll be keeping the tv show canon and just adding it into jessica’s canon comic timeline.
so i want to say she was with killgrave at around age 22-23 and had danielle a couple of years after that, at around 25/26? again this timeline might change depending on s3
otherwise for anyone who’s not very familiar with this trash icon, heres a brief synopsis:
jessica jones had a relatively,,, normal childhood until she went out on a family vacation, got into a car wreck, her parents and younger brother died, she went into a coma, and woke up with powers
i wont spoil jessica jones for anyone who hasnt seen it and therefore i wont delve more into the nature of how she got her powers -- also that canon has me a little iiick so maybe ill just skip that ok next
trish walker convinced jj to take up a superhero mantle,,, designed her a costume & she went by jewel for a while
so that backfired lmao,,, cue her meeting killgrave
then all that Bad Shit happened and she became Even More Angry Child
she got together with luke ( and claire in my canon ) after getting freed from killgrave , they had and raised dani together , jessica went through her whole angsty knightress phase ( also a big disaster )
now she’s a raging alcoholic who curses like a sailor and a badass PI & sole employee of alias investigation ( tho sole employee can also be subject to change if someone wants to plot something out because she really does need someone like malcolm in her life )
she has ptsd and especially under stress ( particularly when concerning her being responsible for someones murder / death ) she’ll hallucinate killgrave
her powers consist of super strength & enhanced durability, and the power of “flight” aka more like jumping really high and far,,, lmao. she also built up a telepathic resistance to mind control.
she cannot,,, fight,,, like the other defenders. she doesnt really have combat training lke the rest of them. so catch this beautiful idiot just ripping doors off of cars and yeeting them around,,, i like to say she cant throw down like the other defenders so she just,,, throws people around instead. or punches them in the face. usually the latter.
along those lines she is a ( begrudging ) member of the defenders but somehow manages to find connections for herself with random unaffiliated people ( carol danvers as her best friend, elsa bloodstone, & emma frost to name a few )
for this reason i mean it when i say jj can plot with just about anyone, seriously. marvel or dc, throw them at me. it’s likely she owes someone a favour or she’ll call in a favour with someone. she knows,,, everyone. somehow.
i think that’s about it for now ! please please hmu to plot i am SO EXCITED and can’t wait to meet all of you !!

inuruk replied to your post “you know, it's been months, but i still feel betrayed by how bad...”
Tell me more
will do! (sorry i saw this yesterday but i wasn’t near a computer so i didn’t get to answer then and i forgot to answer when i got home rip) it was a shell of the show it was in season 1. they completely ruined trish’s character and her relationship with jess (which was the core of s1), the pacing was bad, the villain, despite having a interesting premise, was uncompelling to watch, most of it was just not enjoyable viewing material, and as much as i hate to say it, the show lost its edge when killgrave got killed off. literally the best episode of the season was the one with him haunting jess which i hate bc i really wanted to love the rest of the season since i loved all the characters in season one. season two was just such a bad downgrade and honestly i might not even watch season three. plus did i mention they ruined trish’s character? i didn’t even care about her when it was revealed she got powers, which shows how much of a downturn she took considering i was heavily anticipating that plotline but now i couldn’t give a shit.

Being around Fischer was like being a fly attracted to light bulbs. Except Fischer wasn’t exactly radiating light. Quite the opposite actually but Iris was addicted to it and couldn’t be angry with the boy for too long. And because of that she could feel eyes on her constantly throughout the next day especially whenever she stood near Fischer or touch him. They all knew what happened a few days prior and they would gossip about her behind her back but whenever she was in a room, she earned their silence and judgy eyes. She almost wished they would talk.
The next day didn’t prove to be much better and she wanted to scream. To shout in their faces, daring them to speak ill of her in front of her but she wouldn’t. Even under public scrutiny, Iris wouldn’t fall. Instead she kept her head up high and ignored her peers as best she could. Though in the Great Hall it was proving to be more difficult and the girl sighed quietly, pushing her food with her fork. She no longer had an appetite. “How much trouble do you think I’d be in if I just ripped off Killgrave’s hair?” The snake asked without bothering to look up at Fischer, who was sitting next to her at the Slytherin table. The girl, Helena Killgrave, was a Gryffindor who was currently staring and gossiping with her friends, laughing in unison. Merlin, Iris hated girls.

It occurs to me that Killgrave has no moral center. So he really has no moral code or any sort of ‘normal’ for him. Doing whatever is normal as far as he’s concerned.
So with that said, I can totally imagine him doing something like, saving Daredevil. Granted, he HATES Daredevil, and will always hate Daredevil, but I can totally imagine something horrible going down with like, the Kingpin or something, and Killgrave just intervenes. Not because he wants to do good or has any real reason to, but because if someone kills Daredevil, who the fuck is he going to torment?
Also, Killgrave is an arrogant asshole and being able to lord that kind of shit over him forever would be amazingly worth it.
Also Killgrave fucks over other supervillains because he can. Again, no moral center.
And it’s totally in his nature to be like ‘yes I saved you, my eternal enemy, just so I could forever lord it over you that I did so, and because I am going to enjoy being the one who makes you rip out your own heart with your bare hands.”

Thoughts on Iron Fist
I finished the show last weekend, I’ve had a chance to digest everything now and... I like it.
As I suspected, the criticism was very much blown out of proportion. Critics were coming at this show with an obvious SJW agenda and were determined to hate it without giving it much of a chance (or any chance in some cases). But if you watch it with an unbiased attitude, a lot of the criticisms really don’t hold up. Is it perfect? No. But overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
One of the big issues critics were bashing it on was that Danny has no idea of how crazy he comes off to other people. And at face value, I can see why you might think that, but the issue comes from when you ONLY take it at face value and don’t consider the reasoning behind it.
The whole idea is that Danny is approaching everything from the mindset of a 10-year-old because that's the age he was when his plane crashed. He's seeing things in very simplistic, right-and-wrong, black-and-white terms because he was ripped away from his whole life when he was just a kid. He doesn't know how the real world works anymore, he doesn't understand how complicated a lot of things can be. He's supposed to have this childlike innocence and naiveté about a lot of things. It's something he has to grow out of. And later on in the season, he does acknowledge that he's been too trusting and kind of gullible at times; this is a learning experience he has to go through. It's called a character arc.
The "white savior" thing is a bunch of bullshit. The biggest badass on the whole show is Colleen Wing, an Asian woman who is routinely beating the shit out of guys, in many cases, two or three at a time. This woman does not need saving and Danny is not portrayed as any kind of racist savior for the Asian people or whatever. So let's just table that right now. More often than not, Colleen is insisting that Danny needs her help and we see a lot more of that than him bailing out other people.
Something else a lot of people have brought up is that Danny doesn't really think things through when he should. He's very headstrong and has a habit of throwing himself into danger without a plan. This is something Colleen and Claire call him on a couple of times, so it's not like on the Flash where Barry Allen is constantly doing incredibly stupid things and then that stupidity is completely ignored. In Danny’s case, this is acknowledged as a character flaw. He's a little desperate to prove himself as the Iron Fist, but he doesn't really know how because his training was incomplete, so his go-to plan is to simply follow the doctrine that’s been beaten into him for 15 years, which is "DESTROY THE HAND. HAND = BAD." Again, later on, he starts to understand that things are more complicated than this.
Now some of the things that ARE issues with Iron Fist. The pacing in the first half of the season is slow, yes. It's takes its' time getting out of the gate. But guess what -- so did Jessica Jones and so did Luke Cage. Personally, I didn't find this to be any more of a problem than it was on those shows, (and it was actually much less of a problem at times IMO) but I can see why some viewers might get impatient with it.
Also, it couldn’t seem to settle on one definitive Big Bad. The overarching villain is the Hand, but the show kind of oscillates between three primary bad guys and it probably takes a little too long to introduce them. As a result, we don’t get as much focus on certain villains that maybe we should have and I think the story would have benefitted from having a tighter focus on that.
Daredevil and Jessica Jones definitely benefitted from having the whole season focused on the fight against the Kingpin or the fight against Killgrave. With Iron Fist, he's fighting a leader of the Hand and then another leader of the Hand and also this other guy who’s in league with the Hand, and I feel like it was too many villains. Just doing one or two for now may have worked better.
Is the finale a little underwhelming? Yeah. It is NOT however, the worst finale of the Marvel Netflix shows. That honor goes to Luke Cage, who spent his finale having a not-very-good fight with a man in an unintentionally hilarious, cheap-looking armored suit while guys on the side of the street cracked ‘Yo Momma’ jokes and then resolved the climax half an hour too early. The Iron Fist finale may not have been perfect, but it was certainly better than that was.
Something that does need to be addressed is K’un Lun. There’s a lot of talking about it throughout the season, about what went on there, what kind of place it is, what Danny's training was like, but we never really get to see it. This would have really benefitted from some flashbacks to the city, the people there and what Danny went through. The brief flashbacks we do get don't show much at all. All we get to see of Danny’s training is a brief clip of him getting whacked with sticks, so there's an awful lot of telling and not much showing. Maybe they didn't have the budget to show more, but in the future, this is something I think they need to work on because they build this place up so much and then they never really show it. THAT'S a legitimate issue.
The acting is fine. Critics are being too hard on Finn Jones IMO, he does a good job. There were a few clunky bits of dialogue here and there that didn’t do him any favors, but that was more a fault of the writing. Claire is great as usual. Colleen is fucking awesome, one of my new favorite characters. I loved every second she was on the screen and the burgeoning relationship between her and Danny is actually really sweet.
The action I think is solid. Critics were bitching about how it was "too choreographed" or whatever -- IMO, you could say that about ONE sequence in the show. It's a scene in the dojo in one of the early episodes where Danny and Colleen do some impromptu sparring. There it did look a little bit choreographed to me. All the other action scenes were fine; I wouldn’t say it was any worse than stuff I’ve seen in other action-related series. Yeah, they saved the best stuff for the back half of the season, but overall, I got my fill and I was satisfied with the fights in this show. Daredevil is still the undisputed champ in that regard, but that doesn't mean the action in Iron Fist is BAD; it's not. And it certainly has the action sequences in Jessica Jones and Luke Cage beat easily.
So overall, I would call Iron Fist a flawed, but still enjoyable and good series, which is pretty much my opinion on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage as well.
Sorry to disappoint all the left-leaning, liberal SJWs out there who wanted the show to be complete garbage, so they’d have something to be outraged about, but they should probably find a target that actually deserves their vitriol.

I LOVE the first season of Jessica Jones. I've watched it twice. Jessica is so cool and Killgrave is a captivating villain. But one day I was thinking to myself, 'why didn't Jessica just rip Killgrave's tongue out of his throat? She's strong enough to do it. Surely his powers would stop working if he couldn't speak.' Then I caught myself like, 'woah slow down you sociopath, she's meant to be a hero - heroes don't mutilate people.' And this is why I cannot be trusted with superpowers.
