Emergency aid for Rojava!
Humanitarian aid for the victims of Turkey’s aggressions
Turkey has been bombing civilian infrastructure in Rojava (North and East Syria) since 4th of October 2023, and the region is heading for a humanitarian catastrophe. Turkey has bombed more than 150 targets so far: Much of the region's vital infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed in a matter of hours. Turkey’s attacks have so far caused dozens of civilian deaths and injuries and destroyed 80 per cent of civilian infrastructure, including water and power supplies, hospitals, residential areas, schools, oil fields, factories and warehouses. Hundreds of thousands of people have been cut off from electricity and water supplies for days now. The Covid hospital in Dêrik, one of the most important hospitals of its kind in the region, was completely destroyed by the Turkish air strikes. Numerous other health facilities have been destroyed, hospitals cut off from electricity, cold chains broken - there are calls for blood donations. As Turkey’s attacks continue, the humanitarian situation is expected to deteriorate further and the death toll to rise. The Kurdish Red Crescent (Heyva Sor a Kurd) is on the ground providing vital humanitarian assistance. Support the work of Heyva Sor a Kurd with your donations!

“Turkeys offensives have inflicted severe suffering on our populace. The targets of these attacks were not the military; instead, Turkey disrupted our gas, water, oil, and even civilian vehicles. Turkey seeks to dismantle our community. The attacked areas had no military relevance. Turkey left our people without access to water, electricity, and gas. Ever since Erdoğan initiated attacks with planes, cannons, and rifles, it has been civilians who have borne the brunt. Must all our people be considered soldiers?”

Traumatized by Turkish Airstrikes: Testimonies from Rojava - The Kurdish Center for Studies
"Children searching around for their father’s head. Cats running away from homes and refusing to return. Fires so bright they turn the night into day and resemble the surface of the sun. Terrified children who have gone mute out of fear. Fainting mothers who awake and do not recognize their children. Six young friends lying dead together in the street with nobody to retrieve them. Parents finding their son with only half his face. Families keeping their kids from attending school so they can all die together. Entire cities trembling from explosions. And a traumatized generation without power, water, or food trying to maintain a semblance of hope. This is the apocalyptic hell that Turkish military jets and drones have forsaken the people of Rojava to over the last month, as described in this article by the victims themselves.
This living nightmare began in early October, when the Turkish state launched one of the most intense waves of aerial bombardments in Rojava’s recent history."

If you haven't seen the film, Kobane is on youtube, for free, and absolutely worth watching. It tells the story of ISIS's siege of the city of Kobane, in the north of Syria near the Turkish border, through the eyes of the YPG and YPJ volunteers defending the city.
