hi! could i request a sae-byeok x fem reader fluff / hcs where it’s christmas and they do a bunch of activities together like putting up / decorating a christmas tree, baking cookies, buying matching pjs and drinking hot cocoa while having a christmas movie marathon with face masks, dancing to christmas music together, making out under the mistletoe, shopping for presents for cheol (and each other) etc ?? i’ve been missing christmas lately and christmas with sae-byeok just sounds so comforting rn! (sorry if i sent this twice, i’m not sure if it submitted the first time)
all i want for christmas is you
Tumblr media
tw/cw - none
a/n - this is so vv late ik im horrible but uh the christmas spirit changes people so :D
Tumblr media
- sae byeok wasn’t one to go all out for christmas. growing up poor her family could barely afford a tree, let alone presents and the sparkling lights strung along rooftops and trees. she didn’t own a single pair of fuzzy sweaters that families matched with during their christmas photos. she didn’t even have a photo, not a single one from all the years she lived. call her a grinch, but christmas felt like a reminder what she and her family couldn’t have every year.
- then you came along. and god, you adored the holiday, putting up everything the moment halloween passed. sae byeok was a little annoyed about it at first, at a loss for words walking out of your shared bedroom and finding the house decked out in boxes of christmas decorations. but she couldn't feel resentful of the holiday when you smiled like that. when cheol brightened at the sight while tugging on the hem of her shirt. she found herself mirroring his expression, despite wanting to ask the hundreds of questions swirling around in her mind.
- she released a sigh. her grumpiness would have to rest for a bit.
- you and sae byeok would dedicate a whole afternoon to decorating, insisting it had to be done all in one day. the girl would follow you around like a lost puppy, holding up foreign objects and asking where they went. she felt a little useless during that time, unsure whether she was handing over the correct ornament or setting up the tree properly. but you were patient with her, gently reminding the girl of what was the correct object and showing her the easiest and quickest way to flock the tree. and even though her placement of the decorations looked horrible compared to yours, you simply told her it looked beautiful.
- shopping for christmas presents was something new to sae byeok. she had gone before for her younger brother, but the gift was usually something cheap and used. and even though they weren’t as poor as before, she still felt guilty spending so much money on material things. so christmas shopping was a whole other level of guilt.
- but she eventually grew used to it. after all, this would be their first official christmas without the looming shadow of debt. she wanted to make it as memorable as possible for her younger brother.
- you accompanied her on one of her trips, your excitement making her enjoy the shopping more so than usual. every time you found something you believed the young boy would like you’d hold it up, examining the functions and appearing like a child wanting it for themselves. as quick as your attention found the object however it would disappear, grasping another that would repeat the process. it took many hours for sae byeok to settle on just a couple things.
- shopping for you was a whole different story. she thought long and hard about what to get you, wanting it to be special. you meant a lot to the girl after all, and even though you insisted on her not getting you a present she wanted to see the same bright smile on your face as you opened her gift. sae byeok would spend hours in the shopping center, asking for several different opinions. when she finally settled on a bracelet she was excited, beginning to think that christmas couldn’t come sooner.
- while you waited for the day to come, you made sure to have the pair participate in many classic holiday traditions.
- a gingerbread decorating contest was the first on the list. you bought two sets, pairing up with cheol to decorate one while sae byeok was left to fend for herself. the afternoon was filled with laughter, hundreds of photos and a messy amount of icing. somehow, when cheol was announced the winner for the contest, sae byeok was left with a face covered in white frosting and a chunk out of her gingerbread house (curtesy of you, of course).
- ice skating is another activity you felt was better appreciated during the holiday season. the siblings joined you on the ice, arms spread out as they struggled to stay upright. you quickly handed cheol a walker so he was less likely to fall before grinning mischievously at his older sister. sae byeok could only widen her eyes when you grabbed her hand and pulled her around on the ice, laughing when she screamed from both fright and adrenaline. it didn’t take long for you both to fall on a heap on the floor, breathing heavily with your hands still clasped tightly together. eventually you find yourself laughing loudly, the girl letting out a soft sigh before allowing her own snickers to leave her lips.
- mistletoe is practically everywhere in the house. more often than not you purposely meet the girl under the plant, grinning when she finally glanced up and realized why you kept staring at her so expectantly. after having dealt with your antics several times already, sae byeok released a small sigh, the smallest hint of a smile on her lips as she leaned forward and captured your lips with her own.
- when christmas came around no other music was played except the classics. you insisted upon this fact, your excuse being that it was only acceptable to listen to certain songs during a small window of the year. sae byeok used to mind at first, eventually growing tired of the repeated songs playing in the living room. but when you took her hands and pulled her to her feet, swaying your body with her own, her irritation disappeared. instead she focused on the way your body followed hers and how your head would dip back in laughter when she would accidentally step on your foot. her eyes traced the smile on your face and the sparkle in your eyes, voice humming softly to the tune.
- when christmas eve finally came around you spent the day preparing for ‘santa’. you showed cheol how to bake cookies and stir hot chocolate, putting on a christmas movie while they heated in the oven. you allowed the siblings to open one gift, matching pjs for you all to wear while watching the movie. your hands easily found their way curled against sae byeok’s chest, warmth radiating from your bodies as her fingers found purchase in your hair. when cheol began to grow sleepy you helped the small boy put out a plate of cookies and a glass of milk, tucking him into bed and kissing his forehead. as soon as the door clicked shut you and sae byeok shared a look of understanding, rushing to the closet filled with the presents santa would be leaving for the young boy in the morning. your words are hushed throughout the night, giggling from excitement and the rush of trying to stay quiet enough as to not disturb cheol’s sleep.
- you and sae byeok share a lingering kiss under the mistletoe, before falling asleep under the blankets and twinkling lights.
- you both awake in the morning to cheol tugging on your limbs and pulling you into the living room excitedly. you match his excitement when he takes notice of the half eaten cookies and small pile of presents, eager to begin the morning festivities. you hold up a camera and record the morning filled with torn wrapping paper and bright smiles, many hugs shared followed by words of gratitude. it was the perfect christmas morning.
- exactly what you had hoped for.
- sae-byeok’s hands are cold during the winter season, abnormally so. each time your fingers found her own you hold on tighter than necessary, hoping your warmth will eventually ease itself deep into her skin. your thumbs stroke her knuckles, finger pads rubbing along every inch they can find. you believe it works when you finally (and regretfully) pull away, palms a little sweaty but her skin back to its normal temperatures. and then you smile, catching sight of her reddening cheeks and equally red nose. you lean forward, placing your hands over her cheeks and begin kissing them. softly, gently, hundreds of times with the excuse to warm them enough so she’d never feel a bite of cold ever again.

even with her introverted demeanor, kang saebyeok was still incredibly bold. you had the lovely chance of learning this after you had grown the balls to ask her out, and since that moment on, your girlfriend took every opportunity she got to remind you just how much she had you wrapped around her finger.
like, right now for example. out of all the possible conversation topics, you didn’t want to hear about how jealous you had been when the woman at the cash register eyed saebyeok up and down before taking her coffee order. or, rather, how snappy you had been to the cashier when her gaze reluctantly slid to yours.
“you’re absolutely insufferable, i hope you know that,” you told saebyeok bitterly, avoiding her amused look by turning to face the large window on your left.
she scoffed in her seat across from you, but her smile continued to tug at the corners of her mouth. “people have already told me that. many times.”
you huffed out a breath and turned back to her. “that doesn’t mean you actually have to be insufferable.” there was a beat of silence before you grabbed your drink from the table, smoothing over the warm plastic with a thumb. “and of course i was jealous of her! she’s pretty and kept talking to you—and you entertained the conversation, which you never do. like, ever. so just shut your mouth about the whole thing, okay?”
saebyeok’s grin grew a little wider as she licked her pink lips, sitting back against her chair as she watched you.
part of you thought that her quietness meant compliance, and you counted yourself lucky that she actually listened (for once). but as you went to take a sip of the drink clasped in your hands, she countered with, “come over here and make me then.”
liquid suddenly caught in your throat, you coughed and sputtered into your elbow with widened eyes, trying to process if you had heard her correctly. when you finally cleared your airway, you glanced at her, cheeks flushed. the confidence she wore frightened you a bit, you couldn’t lie, but it also brought goosebumps to your heated skin. mainly because you knew she wasn’t kidding. she may not be very big on pda, but she got handsy when she was jealous, and now that the roles were—for the first time—reversed, you were betting that she liked the idea of you taking an initiative and shutting her up.
when you did nothing but stare at her with large eyes, though, mouth opening and closing like a gaping fish, she sighed through her nose and leaned forward. saebyeok reached over the small table, lifted herself from her chair, and grabbed your chin.
before you could muster up the courage to object, she kissed you. it was quick but strong, and after she pulled back, your noses inches apart, she said, “that’s how you get me to shut my mouth.”

ALSO LAST PART FOR I HUNG THE STARS FOR YOU I SWEAR IM DONE WITH THIS AU I JUST HAD THIS IDEA FOR SO LONG AND NEEDED CLOSURE.
Tumblr media
you used to believe that perhaps the girl you met that fateful winter day was simply a fragment of your imagination.
it was easier than the reality of what was true. that weeks spent on hopeless pining, longing stares and beating hearts resulted in the letter you kept crumbled down from wear inside your pocket. that the feelings that had blossomed and nurtured now lay wilted, decayed and forgotten like an abandoned garden. that sae byeok would never come back, no matter how many shooting stars heard your desperate cries each night.
a year had been enough to have you accept the thoughts, the colors of the leaves the only indicator of the time passed. because everything still felt the same. you still went to that small art shop tucked snuggly between the two buildings, leaning against the aisles and drawing aimless scribbles into the parchment of your notebook. you could feel everything too. could still feel the warmth of sae byeok’s body beside yours, knees bumping and shoes pressed together. could still hear the quiet tone of her voice, soft and hushed and everything nice. you still saw her sometimes, too, waiting for you like she always did despite her insisting otherwise. and yet deep down you knew things had changed, much more than you realized. much more than you let yourself believe.
you sighed quietly into the strong aroma of paints and chalk, blinking away the figments of your imagination beginning to surface once more. it happened too frequently for your liking, and each time it left your heart throbbing painfully inside your chest until it stopped, and you were left feeling nothing at all.
‘come on. it’s been a whole year. you need to get over it.’ you thought angrily to yourself, grabbing the nearest set of paints and putting it into your basket. your visit at the time was for supplies instead of a place to draw, a big project coming up where your teacher asked for only acrylic paints to be used. you weren’t very familiar with the techniques related to the paint, but at least it allowed you an excuse to stay busy and not think about the freckles splayed across skin.
“uh, excuse me.”
you glanced over at the voice, surprised about the appearance that greeted you. it wasn’t necessarily because of the bright red hair that felt out of place, but rather the age of the man and the suit he was wearing. definitely did not look like someone who would come to an art shop, at least not for himself.
“yes?” you asked, a little cautiously.
he smiled, kind enough to have your tense stance falter ever so slightly, “do you come to this place often?”
you sighed a little in relief, realizing that he probably just wanted to know about what supplies to get. you ignored how it reminded you of a different encounter many months ago, “i do. usually come here everyday.”
he nodded, hesitating for a moment before speaking, “if you don’t mind me asking, can i see some of your work?”
“oh, sure! here, give me a second.” you pulled out the notebook from your bag, opening it to the first page littered with motion drawings and random sketches. he flipped through the pages, intrigued, until stopping on one that had his entire body going completely still.
“this one is…” he trailed off, glancing between you and the graphite smeared onto the page. your own eyes landed on the drawing, body growing cold at the familiar sight.
quickly you grabbed the notebook from his hands, holding it protectively to your chest, “sorry, these ones are private,” you hastily stuffed it into your bag, eyes downcast to hide the tears threatening to break through, “if you’re looking for advice you can always ask the workers. i have to go.”
“wait!” the sudden rise in tone and the alarm in his voice caused you to pause, seeing the conflicted look across his face. he swallowed, eyes switching between you and your bag before remaining on your face, “do you know a girl named sae byeok?”
his tone was much softer that time, but you still felt frozen in your spot, rolling the familiar syllables within your mind. your lips parted, so many thoughts running through your head but none finding a place on your tongue. you swallowed, asking the easiest question you could muster, “what did you say?”
“sae byeok,” he repeated, seemingly desperate by the way he looked at you, “did you know her?”
“did i know her?” you almost laughed at yourself. at the whole predicament. a whole year, and despite you thinking that it was enough to forget about the girl you met, all the images centered around her felt clearer. you remembered the butterflies gracing ribcages, the sunsets on your cheeks, and the stars across her face. a bitter smile found its place on your lips, heart aching quietly inside your chest, “i loved her.”
the man, or rather gi-hun, took you to a nearby coffee shop. he said it’d be better to talk there than inside the store, to which you only partly agreed. despite it being a much appropriate setting, the coffee shop he brought you to was the same one you took sae byeok to as well. you didn’t sit in the same seats, thankfully, but each time you glanced over and spotted the table you recalled the wonder in her eyes at showing her the sketch made up of her features.
“how do you…” you paused, taking a quick sip of your tea to help soothe your throat and ease your anxiety, “how did you know her?”
gi-hun remained quiet for several moments, as if he were trying to find a suitable place to start. finally, after a silence far too long for your liking, he muttered quietly but loud enough for you to hear, “did she tell you about the games?“
“yes.” how could you forget? you read the letter left to you so many times you practically had the words memorized.
“i was there. we played together,” his tone lowered ever so slightly, his attention drawing to the untouched cup of his coffee, “we were teammates.”
seeing gi-huns crumpled state had your heart pounding, afraid of what the expression meant. but you needed to know. you had to be sure, “is she…” you trailed off, not wanting to utter the words you tried to deny for so long. it would be too real if you said it aloud. written permanently into the universe you could not change.
he lowered his head ever so slightly, and gi-hun didn’t even need to utter his next words for you to know, “i’m sorry.”
“how did-“ you choked on your words, scrambling to pick up the world that just shattered by your feet, “how did she die?”
“there was a game…the glass exploded at the end. she…she was unlucky enough to have been the closest one.” gi-hun also struggled with his words, his eyes never quite reaching your own.
you pressed a hand your lips, fingers trembling against the appendages as you pushed down the tears and tried to ignore the tightening in your throat. you tried not to imagine it. the blood flowing out of her body. the desperate tone of her voice and the struggling of her eyes to remain open. had she been in pain? was she scared? did she pass with regrets? “sae…”
“she told me about you. before she died,” you glanced up at the words, awaiting what was to follow. this time gi-hun did meet your eyes, red rimmed but gentle, “she loved you very much. and i uh, i promised her something.”
gi-hun reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a slip of paper. when you held it between your thumb and pointer fingers you read the letters to be an address, confused by the unfamiliarity.
“what is this?“ you asked, sparing a quick glance up.
“its the place cheol is staying at. she told you about her brother right?” at your nod gi-hun continued, “i promised sae byeok that i would take care of her family. that included you. there’s….there’s enough money to let you live a comfortable life.”
you stared at the piece of paper, feeling emotions you couldn’t quite place. but you knew one thing, and it was that you didn’t want money. you didn’t want a life of luxury or comfort. you just wanted sae byeok. just one more moment with her. one more smile. one more laugh. one more hug in the pouring rain where the roar of the falling droplets allowed only you two to hear the thoughts kept in your hearts. no amount of money could buy that.
“again, i’m really sorry. if i could i…i would’ve taken her place. it should be her here right now, not me,” gi-hun was staring down at his hands, tears building up in the corners of his eyes. the guilt he felt must’ve been heavy, the thought urging you to reach over and place a reassuring hand over his own.
“thank you for watching over her.” you whispered. you didn’t know much about gi-hun. but the fact that he was there, comforting you and giving closure for both you and the girl now among the stars told you enough.
he nodded, appearing relieved, “if-if you ever need anything you can call me. it took me a year to get my shit together but i intend to keep my promise. anything at all, don’t be afraid to ask.”
“thank you mister.” you smiled, grateful for his offer. gi-hun tensed at the words, as if they were familiar and brought back a memory he had forgotten. but just as quickly he was smiling, nodding while standing up from his seat.
“take care.”
it took you a couple days to gain enough courage to visit the address gi-hun gave you. it wasn’t really that you were scared, or doubted his intentions, but rather you were nervous. you had heard so much about cheol from sae byeok. she always spoke of him so fondly, and despite not having met him before her words alone were enough for him to find his own place in your heart. but, what if he didn’t like you? what if you couldn’t take care of him? you were just a college student after all, but it was sae byeok’s brother and you were willing to try for the sake of protecting one of the only things she loved. but what if that wasn’t enough?
you breathed out a shaky breath, the cloud steadily disappearing into the air. slowly you brought your hand up and formed a fist, knocking three times on the door before you. when you heard the rustle of movement from beyond you took a step back, rocking on your heels while waiting.
an older woman greeted you, to which you realized was the friend’s mom gi-hun told you briefly about. she smiled at you, warm like hot cocoa, and you returned it with one of your own, “uhm. sorry to intrude…is there a boy named cheol here?“
her smile widened, perhaps having been expecting you, and she turned towards the stairs inside the house and yelled out a loud ‘cheol!’ into the distance. it echoed, bouncing off the walls and blending with the sound of feet rushing down the steps. a boy, small and no older than ten, appeared behind the older woman, peering at you curiously. it was almost laughable how similar he looked like sae byeok. the only think lacking was the splash of freckles on his cheeks and nose.
“hi…i’m (name).” you waved your hand, relieved when he returned it and stepped out to now stand in the doorway.
“are you the person my sister always talked about?“ he tilt his head towards the side, the action and big brown eyes causing your heart to tighten.
“yup,” you laughed, trying to keep the mood light, “that’s me.”
he rushed forward, small hands bunching the fabric of your shirt. you only remained still for a brief moment before putting your own hands around his small frame, fingers running through the strands on his head. he mumbled something, muffled by your thick jacket, and you had to maneuver his face away from the fabric to hear him properly, “thank you for making my sister happy.“
you were taken aback, not expecting the words of gratitude. you felt something roll down your cheek, and hastily you crouched down low, holding the small boy closer to your body, “thank you for having such an incredible sister.”
the sobs pouring out of your mouth never seemed to stop. you wanted to be strong, for the sake of the precious boy before you. yet you found yourself unable to stop the tears, heart and body aching all over again, just like that day you received the letter. and cheol, sweet cheol, patted your back gently whilst releasing his own small sniffles.
“my sister isn’t coming back…is she?” he whispered quietly, the broken tone of his voice causing you to pull back and hastily wipe away the tears on his cheeks.
“we can wait together, hm?” you smiled, keeping your voice steady while stroking the apple of his cheeks, “that means we have to take care of each other.”
cheol let loose another small sniffle, before nodding his head and burying his face within your jacket once more, “okay.”
you don’t know how long you sat there holding onto the boy, whispering quiet reassurances while fixing the mess of strands that was his hair. cheol probably saw through your little white lie, but you wanted to try. to try keeping his bright spirit as warm as the sun. to make sure he knew that his sister loved her, and didn’t leave because of the lack of it. that sae byeok would’ve wanted you both to be happy, even if she weren’t there to witness it all.
maybe hung stars and shooting comets weren’t enough, but this, holding cheol and having gotten to love her, was.

Yandere Sangwoo in the games
AU (two can live at the end) - Mentions of killing - Manipulation - NSFW - Jealous!Sangwoo - Mentions of Death -
Tumblr media
Yandere in games Sangwoo its a beast for the rest and a big softie for you.
You two know each other from college and Sangwoo always had a crush on you but never acted on it.
He tought being your friend was enough and he got to know your deepest secrets, but as soon as he saw how he could do other things with you if you two were together he started to get jealous and separated himself from you during last years.
This was to keep himself from going after your partner and punch them for hurting you or him getting delusional by your constant show of emotions towards him.
When he sees you in the games his mind its one thing: protect
Even if you are mad at him by how he cut you off without you knowing the reason he still makes you be part of his "team" (he needs to thank Gi-hun since he was the one to convince you).
But oh hell, you just made a Friends with the others so quickly-
He wants nothing but to put a knife on their necks.
He gives you small hints for the games, taking your hand by his forcefully making you go for the circle in the honey game.
Yes you are angry at him but Sangwoo is thinking in your survival (and his) and also thinking how good your hand feels against his. How soft your skin his and how cute you are when you press your hand around his when the game its announced.
Still....you are dense and dont let the pass go easily. So you end ignoring him most of the time. You tried once to get the reason of why he stopped taking to you but Sangwoo said it was not the time to talk about it.
So you go back to ignore him.
However one night he decides to go back to your bed. Laying down with you after one particular hard game, using your vulnerable state to whisper sweet words to help you feel less scared.
You just happened to lose one friend in the marble game and now you are too tired and sad to understand things. So of course you let Sangwoo in your bed. You let him pull you towards him, he kisses the back of your neck and ear making you shiver. He would use one hand to caress your belly imagining a life with you an a child in the future.
As some times passes you will find yourself trusting him more. Sangwoo ends being your shadow and your brain. Literally, he is the one who takes the decisions and does not let you say anything.
When the game of the glass PUENTE came you saw how Sangwoo pushed that men. You two fought over it like a married couple him saying it was to protect you but you still blame him as a murder.
And Sangwoo ends mad but somehow aroused by your strong persobality and convictions so he takes your hand and makes you go to the batrhoom with him with the excuse that is to wash the blood but its to fuck you inside one of the stalls.
Truly, you are not sure if you want him like this but at the feeling of his hot brath against your neck and his demanding kisses. His fingers touching you nice and fast hitting your weak spot and then his hard dick ending inside you and how he tells you how much he has dream about this and how nice you feel around him. You dont even notice when he cums inside you till later that night after the nice dinner they gave you.
Since you two are being so loved by the rich people seeing the games its decided two can win.
So now you have to fight off Gi-hun and Sae-byeok something that does not set down with you till you see Sangwoo killing her once Gi-hun its knocked down on the floor, blood coming out from his head.
And so the game ends. You two are drugged again and left on a cold park together. Sangwoo its the first to wake up and would quickly check his account and make you check yours. Since you are too stunned to do anything Sangwoo will use this chance to take you back to his aparent. He knows you will be mad at him for the next weeks so he needs to have you by his side so he can convince you that he is the best choice you have (you dont have one) and that you need him. Because who is going to believe you about the games? For sure you will need someone to talk to.
Basically, bond by trauma and manipulation. I can see him getting you to see his mother (who you already knew) telling her you two are an item and since you cant bring yourself to break the poor humans heart you will you accept your fate by Sangwoo side.

''BEST FRIENDS''
Summary: just a little chat with the quietest girl in the room.
Tumblr media
(Little disclaimer: English is not my native language, but I try my best, I promise♡).
.
.
You’ve had your eyes on her for a long time now. The tall, skinny, brunette girl who is sitting on her bed a few meters away from yours; you can feel her pain just by looking at her.
After several glances, she ends up turning her head to face you.
“What?”
You shake your head, still staring at her intensely, though.
“Nothing. Just watching you. You're pretty, you know that?”
Her face remains impassive and it takes her a few seconds to respond in a cold, flat tone of voice.
“Uh-uhm.. thanks?”
She awkwardly shifts her attention back to the empty space of air just in front of her; lost in her own thoughts again.
You get up from your bunk bed and walk over to hers to sit by her side. You bend your legs in a comfortable position while she pretends you're not shoulder to shoulder with her right now.
“So... why are you here? If you don't mind me asking.”
...
“...Debts.” She simply mutters as her eyes averting back to her lap. Her hands grip onto the edges of her tracksuit pants tightly. She does not like to talk about herself much, it seems.
“Debts,” you repeat, thoughtfully.
After a long moment of awkward silence, you rummage the pocket of your tracksuit jacket and take out a pack of cigarettes.
“You smoke?” You ask her, offering her one.
She takes the cigar and stares down at it for a moment, seeming to contemplate the decision.
“No. Never; but I guess I won't die from trying for once. It's not like I'll have time to get addicted anyway.”
You hand her the lighter after lighting yours first.
“You're always this optimistic, or did I catch you on a good day?” You tease her with a playful smirk.
She shrugs as she lights her cigar and next hands you the lighter back.
She coughs slightly at first, but manages to take a couple more of drags before set the cigar aside with a grimace. You can't help but let out a small chuckle.
“Do you have a name?” She asks, all of a sudden.
You take a long drag and lean against the white wall before answering her.
“Well... people used to call me Y/n, so I guess that's my name. And yours?”
“It's Sae-Byeok. Kang Sae-byeok.” She mutters.
“Well, Sae-Byeok, I'm so glad to meet you. I wish it had been somewhere else, though.”
You two remain silent for a long time again, one next to the other; but this time the silence doesn’t feel so uncomfortable as it felt before.
“You know... tonight is going to be a really tough night. I heard one of those assholes over there.” You point at a group of players a few meters away from you with your cigar. “They were planning a riot.”
She flicks over to look towards the direction of where you're indicating now. Her dark eyes narrow.
“Did you hear anything else?” Her face turns into a slight scowl. “Those men... they're dangerous.”
You shrug while yawning.
“Nop, but I guess they're planning to kill us one by one while we're asleep or something...” You speak carelessly.
Suddenly, your eyes light up and you look at her with a big smile.
“Hey, listen! Now that we're best friends, why don't we team up? You know, you watch my back and I watch yours. What do you think?”
She sighs, contemplating the offer for a moment. Finally, she nods.
“It'll be better then being alone, I suppose...” Sae-Byeok shrugs gently. “And don't call us 'best friends'.”
You giggle and nudge her gently. “Oh, but we are now! I mean, It's easier to survive if you're with someone, and I think we'd be great company for each other. Not you think?” You smirk.
Sae-Byeok giggles quietly, for once.
“I hate you already, but okay. I'm in.” She says.

as long as you love me — 01 — the fall

⌒⊹˚୨୧ INTRODUCTION: 01 — the fall WORDCOUNT: 3.1k words CHAPTER SUMMARY: the fall happens and the plant turns red.
The Fall, 2446, 5:28 AM.
“Breathe,”
Those were the first words you heard as you awoke, “Breathe, Doctor,” and breathe you did. Everything seemed so bright and noisy, you were far too disoriented and your body did not like the sudden movements you were forced to make.
Hands assisted your limbs and body as you were transferred into a gurney and wheeled to wherever it was you were being taken, the medbay you assumed. Everything felt heavy and it was like you were being suffocated.
“Breathe, Doctor, breathe, in and out,” you heard the woman say.
But you couldn’t, why was it so hard? It was like something was in your lungs or something, “Breathe, please try to breathe,” you heard the woman speak again, you tried to tell her no but all you could do was shallowly suck in a breath.
Was there something in the air? You couldn’t see the woman’s face as clearly anymore, and everyone’s voices became… clouded? Or it seemed as if they were extremely far away and in a different room.
Breathe, you reminded yourself, please breathe, and as if someone heard your prayers, your head was lifted and a venturi mask* was placed on you and you took a deep breath in and closed your eyes.
Breathe.
That was over eight months ago, once you were stable, a nurse had come and asked you the general questions; ‘What’s your name?’ “(Name) (Last Name),”, ‘How old are you?’ “27,”, ‘What ship are you on?’ “SEEDS Ship 03,”, ‘What do you work as?’ “Military PLANT Engineer,”, and all the like.
As soon as that was over, the ship’s captain, Luida, had come and checked in on all the PLANT engineers, she thanked all of you for being there and then explained what had happened.
All SEEDS’ ships crash-landed on this new planet, and not all ships survived. She had told all of you that there was a team going out and looking for survivors. Shortly after she left, you had all been whisked to physical therapy.
“Your bodies have been frozen for far too long, we need to ensure that you are all in top-working condition,” the doctor had told you all, “Please meet us here every day for two to three weeks depending on your performance,”
You had all been shocked by the news, this was not the plan, but you couldn’t do anything about it, so you just all did your best to take care of yourselves to take better care of the PLANTs on the ship.
2447, 01:14 PM.
Everything was going fine, you got along well with your co-workers, you monitored the PLANTs, you log the PLANTs’ biodata, repeat. Everything was fine.
When you finished lunch the next afternoon, everything was evidently not fine, the PLANT deck glowed red and all the engineers were huddled over the unusual PLANT.
You searched around, looking for one of your closest friends, Ynez Trinh, she had short hair with a fringe (think kang sae-byeok (강새벽) from “squid game”) and was usually one of the first to respond in a scene. You met at the academy where she quite literally fell on you the third week of school, she apologized with your favorite drink and the rest was history.
“Ynez, what’s happening?” you asked her when you were sure she could hear you, her face was distraught, her eyebrows knitted together and she was shifting nervously, “I don’t know, this hasn’t happened before, and it really shouldn’t happen, one minute we were just logging on the biodata then the PLANT turned red, and everyone was called here,”
You looked around, everyone was clearly uncertain about what to do next and you honestly didn’t know either, “Does Luida know already?” you asked again.
“No, we haven’t found her yet, Brad, too,” another of your co-workers, Ethan Flores, had answered, “No one knows what to do,”
Ethan was usually quiet, always wearing his mask because his hispanic parents always told him about the dangers of viruses floating around, and since he got sick pretty easily, he followed the advice. He also had a quiter aura since his jaw-length curls almost always covered his eyes, but don’t underestimate him because as quiet as he is, he’s the best in PLANT biodata research.
Anyway. (a/n: wow look at my amazing attempt to continue on w the story)
The PLANT turning red was one thing, Luida and Brad missing were another, but the cherry on top of all these was that this ship didn’t have a lead engineer or anything like that, everyone just did what they were assigned to, and it was clear as day that that was a bad decision.
“What if we just do a last harvest?” someone had asked and the whole room became quiet.
“What?” an older engineer asked, “A last harvest? This early in?”
The PLANT deck erupted into multiple arguments and discussions, and it was silenced when Xanther Durand, one of the smartest engineers onboard, yelled, “Enough! Those who agree with the last harvest move to the left side, and those who agree to not give up on the plant yet move to the right!”
His voice echoed through the metal ceiling of the deck and the shuffling and moving of feet was heard shortly.
Xanther was always one of the people you looked up to, even in the academy, he always kept himself in his “chic and classy state,” (his words, not yours), always keeping his hair like Eugene from “Tangled” all because he “wanted to appear charming,” he also had this leader vibe, you guessed it came from his parents who were supervisors in a top company back when you were on Earth.
When people had chosen their sides, it was obvious that more engineers voted for the last harvest of a single plant compared to those who wanted to save it, think of a 2:7 ratio, and everyone started whispering again.
Your eyes had met Xanther’s and you both knew what it meant, a last harvest was happening and it was inevitable, his eyes held despair and you shook your head and did something which will probably be embarrassing.
You ran into the middle of the deck.
“Everyone who voted for a last harvest,” you swallowed, “Find Luida and Brad, the final decision for a last harvest is still theirs, but in the meantime, let us work on the PLANT,”
The whispering doubled and everyone’s eyes were on you.
“Why should we listen to you? Isn’t the reason why we took sides was to come to a decision?” an older co-worker around his thirties yelled.
You swallowed and clenched your fists, “There’s nothing you’ll lose if you let us work on the PLANT! The captain of the ship will still have the final decision, we only chose sides to see where we stood,” you explained.
“If you don’t want us working on the PLANT so much,” Ynez had stepped up, “even though it’s our fucking job,” she said in a low voice, “Then go and find the captain of the ship to speed the process up,”
The man grumbled but stormed out of the deck and everyone else just kept to themselves and took to their own conversations as they left the deck, at least they knew when they should leave, unfortunately, what they didn’t know is not to talk about someone when they are in the same room as them and how to lower their voices.
“Just because she’s one of the best doesn’t mean she can order us around,” you heard one of them whisper.
“I mean didn’t she finish as a valedictorian and became one of the youngest Military PLANT Engineers?”
“Yeah, but keep in mind, that her parents were also PLANT Engineers, so she has an advantage, especially because they were prominent engineers at that,”
“Doesn’t that make her a nepo baby? God, what if she actually isn’t all that and she just got in here because of connections?”
One of them snickered and you didn’t hear the rest of their conversation as they exited the deck.
Shakily, you took in a deep breath and looked at the PLANT behind you, it was normal at this point, you were used to it, yes, you are a nepo baby, but your parents never bribed off any professors or academies to let you study or get you to where you are now.
Fucking shit, you weren’t even on Earth anymore and yet rumors still followed you like the plague, guess human nature never changes.
You were shaken out of your thoughts when Xanther put a hand on your shoulder, “Good job for speaking up back there, that was very brave of you,” he said and you smiled.
“I felt like I was gonna have a panic attack,”
“When do you ever feel like you’re not,” Ynez quipped and the three of you laughed. You turned around and saw that there were around 11 PLANT engineers.
“Well,” you clapped your hands together, “Let’s get to work, shall we?”
“Yes!” everyone yelled in unison.
11:09 PM.
It had been hours, the sun had already set hours ago, Luida and Brad still haven’t been found, your co-workers have taken to dinner and some had already agreed to work on it the day after. Ynez had told you to take a rest, take a break even, her resolve was crumbling it seems, but you just couldn’t, your conscience wouldn’t let you rest.
Your team of 11 had already checked the wirings, the state of the PLANT, all the technical programming, the lights themselves (because Ethan thought that maybe it was just an error on the ship’s part (it wasn’t)), everything presented in the handbook and everything you’ve learned in the academy and it still didn’t fix the red-glowing PLANT.
Eventually, they had all taken to their rooms, with a note to you to finish up and follow suit.
“You better be in your bed in the morning,” Xanther warned, “We will check your room,” Ynez yelled through the hallway and you laughed, more of a yawn, actually, “I will! Soon, I just have to see if what I think is wrong is wrong,”
Xanther gave you a warm smile and waved bye, disappearing behind the deck’s automatic doors. You looked up at the PLANT and exhaled, “Alright, let’s see if anything is wrong with the tank fluid itself,”
It was unadvised to climb up on the tank, the reason being that humans could pollute the tank fluid even with just a touch of the hand and endanger the PLANT, but nevertheless, you still climbed up on it.
“If I get reprimanded for this, at least I broke the rule with the intent of saving the PLANT,” you grunted as you pulled yourself up and landed on top of the tank, “Wait, is there even a rule, last I remember it was just unadvised,”
The top of the tank was a circular walk-around with a circular hole in the middle, allowing access for running tests on the PLANT or the occasional cleaning of the PLANT’s tank.
You sighed and took a sample of the tank fluid and quickly ran tests, it would take some time according to the device you brought with you so you sat near the circular opening as you observed the PLANT floating around.
Even as the red lights engulfed it, it looked amazing, the plant was iridescent, actually, reflecting the red lights of its tank and the white lights of the deck, it was still so amazing.
You kind of zoned out then, it was only when the device you brought with you then beeped and you turned around, seeing the results.
Time: 02:46 AM Test 0517: Tank Fluid is at normal state. No anomalies were detected. (see details)
You sighed again and looked at the PLANT in exhaustion, “Y’know, if you guys could speak it would be a really big help to us PLANT engineers,” you laughed and then stopped.
“Oh my god, I’m going crazy, I’m actually talking to a PLANT,” you groaned and covered your face with your hands and closed your eyes.
Okay, calm down, let’s just listen to what we can hear and think, you think to yourself as you list what you can hear, the air conditioning whirring? nope, not that already checked that, the occasional tap-tap-tap of the footsteps of the staff who were on night duty? nah, they don’t even go in here, the water splashing around? hey, that reminds me of the ocean, oh, that bubble-popping sound, sounds like someone exhaling underwater and the bubbles of air coming up to the surface, hm, what else- wait, what?
As you backtracked your thoughts, you opened your eyes and you screamed, loud.
You fell backward and stared at the creature in front of you, it was eerily beautiful but it was not supposed to be there, it was staring back at you and you were frozen in place.
Oh my fucking God is this one of those angels that have those ‘Be Not Afraid,’ slogans?! Holy fucking shit is this even an angel?! What do I do, I-
Your eyes were wide as you thought about what to do before the creature dived down again.
“H-hey! You’re not supposed to be in there!” you yelled, not even sure if it could understand you.
You got on your hands and knees as you crawled near the circular opening, “You could put the PLANT in danger, you… know?” you trailed off as you saw inside the tank, the PLANT was no longer there, and if it wasn’t there then…
Eyes wide in realization you leaned in farther, holding onto one of the bars on the circular opening with your less dominant hand and your dominant hand supporting yourself up.
You stared at the PLANT in what you think is her full form as she floated around the tank holding her hands against the glass, she stared up at you then and you uttered the question you wanted the answer to for hours.
“Please tell me how to help you,”
The PLANT swam up to you slowly and you froze in place once more, fixated by the wings she had and how she really did look like an angel. She grabbed the ledge and tilted her head up, closing her eyes.
You looked at her and how she was so vulnerable below you and how she… trusted you. You asked how to help her and this is the answer, her answer. Without so much as a second thought, you pressed your forehead onto hers and something zapped into your brain.
For a second it was uncomfortable but then it was like a warm blanket being put over you, then your eyes snapped open and everything was out of focus, you could still feel the PLANT below you but you couldn’t feel your arms anymore and you were getting so sleepy.
The pitter patter of hurried footsteps echoed on the deck and someone yelled your name, it sounded like there was cotton in your ears, they yelled your name again but you couldn’t see who it was, your eyelids were really heavy now, but just as you were about to turn around your arm gave out and you know you were going to fall into the tank when your arm’s hold on the bar slipped.
And then everything turned dark.
When your eyes opened, it was too bright. A venturi mask was once again placed on you and the woman spoke again.
“Breathe, Doctor, breathe, in and out,”
And you did, you breathed.
“Stay here, I’ll get Luida,” she had told you. And that’s when you finally took a good look at her, you’ve never seen her before, “Hey, where’s Niña?” you asked her.
Niña was the usual nurse on duty, you had grown close to her over the past few months and she was a sweetheart. The look the nurse gave you was something mixed with pity, “Please stay here, I’ll get Luida,” she said again and left.
It was weird, to say the least, but your thoughts were interrupted when you remembered what had last happened. Shit, I could get suspended, or worse, actually fired, you thought as you sat up and pulled your knees closer to your chest to rest your arms as your hands cradled your head.
Wait, was the PLANT okay? You did remember falling into the tank, shit! I might’ve contaminated the tank fluid, holy shit, I am so gonna get it, fuck-
The door opened and someone hugged you at full speed, “You’re awake! You’re actually awake!”
Ynez… you realized as the familiar scent of hers entered your nose, you hugged her back, but then pulled back, or was pulled back, rather. That’s when you got a good look at her, she was… older? So was Luida who was behind her, Ynez had longer hair which was kinda impossible since she had it short when you last saw her.
The silence that followed as they both noticed your face staring at theirs was impossibly uncomfortable.
“...What happened..?” you asked.
Luida sighed and sat down beside your bed, you scooted over a little so she could sit comfortably. She held your hands and sighed again, “When the PLANT turned red that day, Brad and I were out with the team trying to find survivors, we came back around midnight, and what surprised us was when we came back, a night-duty guard was looking for help,”
“He said someone was on top of the tank, and something weird was in the tank with the PLANT gone, so we rushed to the PLANT deck,” she looked into your eyes and you knew where this was going, “You were the one who called my name,” you told her.
She nodded, “Yes, but I was a minute late, because at the same time, you fell into the tank, and the unfurled PLANT was holding your body close to hers, we didn’t know what was happening, this was the first time it happened, and it looked like she was trying to envelop you with her petals,”
“Xanther dived in to save you, he pulled you off of the PLANT, it was like she didn’t want to let go of you, really, but he managed to tug you off of her and get you up and out of the tank,” Ynez continued.
You gulped, negative thoughts entering your mind, “Is he… Is he okay? Is Xanther okay?” you asked shakily.
“Yes, he is, he’s fine, he’s just with Vash at the moment,” Luida told you with a soft voice.
But then her face turned pensive and serious, “(Name),” she closed her eyes and sighed again, ”that night you fell into the tank? That was 60 years ago,”
“..What..?”

Hug the Scares Away
Request: Fanfic for caregiver Wilbur and fem!regressor reader for anon
Heavily apologise for this taking so long!! Only recently got the motivation to finish writing this fic!!
I made a mini reference to my other fic Baking Mishap. Can you spot it?
Summary: Wilbur and Y/N decided to watch a show while they were hanging out, but Y/N has a slip so now their plans had to change a little
Word count: 764
Tumblr media
Wilbur and Y/N sat quietly on the sofa, occasionally commenting and making fun of the little plot holes and mistakes that were left in the show they were watching, Squid Game. Like how in the scene where Gi-hun bumped into Sae-byeok, the latter’s actor was laughing, and in one of the lunch scenes the actor of the main character scooped up nothing and put the empty spoon in his mouth (pls it’s very funny).
Wait, but how did they get here? Well, when Wilbur decided to invite his little cupcake over, Y/N couldn’t say no to spending time with her favourite caregiver. It was the evening and they both wanted to do something more chill, being tired out from the fun they had earlier that day. How they chose the show? Well it was trending, and Tommy seemed to like it, and they trusted his opinion. And he was right! It was definitely pretty good. Maybe a bit sensitive but it was alright.
It was… something… to binge watch an entire season of gore and blood, especially since it would take up most of the two's day. It was fine, it was the weekend, and they didn't have any extra plans for it. Well, they didn't watch the ENTIRE thing. There was a bit of a… slip?
Y/N squeaked in fear at the sound of the gunshot, hiding away in her caregivers arm. Wilbur immediately took notice of the change in behaviour, pausing the show as fast as possible so the little one didn't have to be scared anymore. Y/N whimpered as he pulled her closer.
"Cupcake, what's wrong?" He rubbed her back gently. "Was the show too scary for you?" He spoke gently. Y/N nodded as she curled into his embrace. Wilbur softened. "What would cheer you up? Cuddle time with Mr Waffles?" He gently held up a little blue dragon plush and smiled softly. Y/N immediately made grabby hands towards the plush and cuddled it close once it was in her hands.
Wilbur grabbed the remote and switched over to Netflix Kids. He put on a cute children's show called Hilda, a young and free-spirited adventurer that moved from the wilderness to the bustling city. Y/N was immediately entranced by all the sweet looking characters, eyes following the very bouncy weather lady. Figuring that she would be okay on her own for a few minutes, Wilbur got up and headed to the kitchen, pulling out some leftover chocolate chip cookies that Tubbo and Ranboo had baked him from the fridge. They were shockingly decent. He put the cookies on a glass plate and placed it in the microwave to heat up.
Wilbur tapped his foot as the microwave hummed, peeking out of the kitchen as he heard the silly lines from the bird, followed by joyful giggles from the girl on the sofa. The microwave beeped not long after, and Wilbur pulled out the now warm cookies. He quickly looked out to observe Y/N. Her speech seemed to be fine, albeit higher pitched and maybe a bit lacking in usual vocabulary, and she seemed to understand what the weather spirits were saying. He took a guess that she was possibly around 7-12 years old. He grabbed some milk from the fridge and poured it into a plastic cup before bringing the snacks back to the living room.
"I have cookies and milk!" Wilbur said, placing them on the coffee table in front of the sofa. "But we have to share, okay?" Y/N nodded in understanding.
"Alfred can have some!!" She smiled. Wilbur furrowed his brows in confusion but smiled fondly anyway.
"Alfred?"
"The elf!!" She giggled.
"Ohh, the elf!" Wilbur played along. "One of the little men that I can't see, right?"
"Mhm!" Y/N picked up a cookie and broke off a small-ish piece, placing it on the table for the 'elf' to eat. Wilbur just sighed, knowing he'd have to clean that later. The two continued watching the show, the girl giggling happily as she ate her cookies. Wilbur let her take most of them.
Eventually, Wilbur felt a weight on his shoulder. Looking down, he saw the little sleeping softly against him, hugging Mr Waffles close. He smiled and gently moved Y/N so that she was lying comfortably on the cushions of the sofa. He turned the TV off and put a blanket over the sleeping girl. He switched the lights off for the living room and headed to the office in his home.
"Sleep well, my little Cupcake."
