Saul Silva x reader - just hold me
Tumblr media
Hi,Thank you so much for all your stories :)Is it possible for you to write something with Saul who is hurt by Rosalind and his reader wife who takes care of him afterwards, please? - Anon💜
The past few months had been absolute hell not only for you but for Saul as well.
He was arrested, sat in a prison cell where you weren’t able to see him or talk to him to reassure him that everything would be okay, then he was on the run and he wasn’t able to contact you.
And when he finally did return to you, you thought things were beginning to go back to normal, beginning to look up.
But you notice how your husbands behaviour never changed, he kept his distance from you, and you didn’t see him much, he spoke to you sometimes but not often.
And you were worried about him.
So you decided to confront him about it, and you waited for him to come back so you could.
Sitting on the chair closest to the door, you half paid attention to whatever video was playing on your laptop as you kept an eye on the time.
He followed a routine, and if he kept that routine and if you were right, he should be walking through the door any second.
But the minute began to pass and there was no sign of him, and as if began ticking to nearly an hour later you started to grow worried.
Then the door opened.
“Hey.” You said.
“Sorry, I was busy with work, have you eaten if not we can order something.” He said.
You watched as he put his jacket away, setting his shoes next to yours beside the door as he made his way into the bedroom.
“(Y/N)?”
“Sorry, no. I’ve not had anything for dinner yet, do you want pizza or something else?”
“Pizza.”
You picked your food, and then handed the phone to him as he walked past so he could choose to whatever it was that he wanted.
You studied him carefully, your eyes changing colour as you used your magic to look at him carefully.
“Are you alright love?” You asked.
“Yes I’m fine, just tired.”
You nodded, getting up, walking over to your desk.
There was perks to being mind fairy and having a job as a scientist.
You could tell he was lying to you, and you had the exact elixir you needed to see if your hypothesis was correct.
You had your theories and thoughts about it over the past few days, but never wanted to put it in place since you didn’t like using magic or anything on him without his knowing.
But this time you had no choice.
Picking up the small bottle, you carefully walked around him, noting how he was carefully watching you until he couldn’t see you anymore.
Standing behind him, you opened the bottle and watched as the most poured out, surrounding him lightly, focusing mainly on his lungs.
“Saul what happened?”
“Nothing really, I did some training that was about it.”
“That’s not what I’m talking about.”
You showed him the bottle and he stood up.
“You’re using your elixirs on me now?” He snapped slightly.
“I’m worried about you Saul, you’re not telling me anything anymore and I know something is going on. It detects traces of magic, I’m developing it for the hospital and police.”
Saul set the bottle down.
“So you tested it on me?”
“Please tell me what’s going on.” You begged lightly.
Saul slowly sat back down, and you walked over, sitting on the table in front of you.
“I… I can’t tell you…”
“Saul you have to…”
He shook his head and you sighed.
“That elixir detects magic that was used to harm people…”
He looked at you, and he took a deep breath as he began to tell you everything that had been happening while he held both your hands.
Everything he had been holding in came spilling out all in one go, everything he wanted to tell you but was too scared.
And you sat there carefully listening to him, never once cutting in it brushing him aside.
When he done, he was sat forward, resting his forehead on your hands, bouncing a leg up and down.
“Hey.. hey it’s okay. You’re okay…” you whispered.
Reaching up, you placed a hand in the back of his head.
“It’s alright..”
“What if she takes it too far…? What if she comes after you next…?”
You shook your head, pressing a kiss to the side of his.
“She’s not the only one who’s mastered other magic sweetheart, she wouldn’t stand a chance..”
“I can handle her hurting me… but not you..”
You sighed, placing your hand on his chin you titled his head towards you.
“I can make you forget it if you want me to Saul, I can block that memory out for you.”
“She’ll know…”
You gave him a small smile.
“She won’t, I promise. I’ll make it seem like you’ve still got that memory, but you won’t.”
“No… no I.. I just..”
He looked at you, and you could see genuine pain in his eyes.
“Just hold m?”
Getting up, you stepped on the sofa and sat yourself behind him, wrapping both your arms tightly around him as he leant back.
“Of course.”
You ran your thumb along the back of his hand, he he sat there trying ti get over the events from the day

Whispers Amongst the Blooms- Part 1
Tumblr media
This is a series I'm working on featuring Saul Silva from Winx Saga and my OC Valerie. More parts are to come hope y'all like it :)
In the heart of Alfea's spring-clad courtyard, where magic bloomed as vividly as the flowers underfoot, the new term's air was electric with the promise of beginnings. Saul Silva, his muscles still singing from the day's rigorous training, navigated this tableau of anticipation, his eyes inadvertently scanning the sea of new faces. It was a ritual of sorts, observing the influx of potential that each term brought to the hallowed grounds of Alfea.
One figure stood distinctly apart among the myriad newcomers—a girl whose presence seemed to command the chaos into a hushed reverence. She navigated the courtyard's vibrancy with an almost otherworldly elegance, her long, ebony hair cascading like a waterfall of shadows, catching whispers of sunlight in its depths. Her eyes, a captivating shade of emerald green, held the mystique of enchanted forests, glowing with an inner light that drew Saul like a moth to a flame. With every step she took, skirting the tranquil embrace of the lake, a cautious grace enveloped her, setting her apart from the throng of new students.
Saul's path veered towards her, his usual assurance tempered by a sudden, uncharacteristic hesitancy. When she turned her face momentarily towards the sun, soaking in its warmth, a silent connection sparked between them, a thread of intrigue that pulled him closer.
Their paths converged as if by destiny's design. "Hi," Saul ventured, stepping into her orbit with confidence and an unfamiliar hesitancy. "I'm Saul Silva, second-year specialist. I take that you're new here, right?"
Valerie, caught slightly off-guard by his approach, nodded, her voice a melody of quiet strength mixed with a hint of reservation. "Yeah, I'm Valerie. It's.. my first day here. Honestly, everything's a bit overwhelming."
Her shyness did not dim the spark in her eyes; if anything, it added to the allure of the mystery that Saul found so captivating. "Alfea can be like that at first. But you'll find your way," he assured her, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "If you need a guide, or just want to talk about anything, I'm mostly here around the specialist grounds."
There was a pause, a moment where the world seemed to hold its breath, before Valerie returned his smile with a tentative one of her own. "Thank you, Saul. I might take you up on that offer sometime. It's all a bit much, but… exciting too."
Just as the first threads of a deeper conversation began to weave between them, a voice called out to Saul, pulling him back to reality. "Silva! We need you back at the grounds!"
With a regretful glance, Saul excused himself, promising, "We'll talk again, Valerie. Welcome to Alfea."
As he walked away, Valerie's gaze followed him, a gentle smile gracing her lips—a smile that held the promise of future encounters, of mysteries to be shared and perhaps, in time, unraveled together.
In that brief meeting, under the burgeoning life of Alfea's enchanted spring, Saul and Valerie's paths crossed in a dance of fate and curiosity. It was but a fleeting moment, yet it promised the beginning of a journey neither of them had anticipated—one woven with the threads of magic, mystery, and an unfolding connection that would challenge and change them in ways they could scarcely imagine.

Reckless
Saul Silva x Gender Neutral Teen Reader (Platonic)
Self indulgent. Made in mind with male reader but no pronouns mentioned.
Tumblr media
You stride into Saul Silva's office with a smirk on your face, completely oblivious to the frustration etched across his. "Hey, Saul, got a minute?" Your voice carries the arrogance only a rebellious teenager can muster.
Saul sighs, glancing up from his paperwork. "What did you do this time?" he asks, a mix of weariness and concern in his eyes.
You flop into the chair opposite his desk, propping your feet up. "Just a minor altercation with some rules. You know, the usual."
Saul rubs his temples, "We can't keep having these 'minor altercations,' especially with your record. You're here to learn and become a specialist, not to be a troublemaker."
You roll your eyes, "Relax, Saul. It's not like I'm out there causing chaos."
He leans forward, locking eyes with you. "This isn't a joke, kid. Your potential is wasted on your defiance. I've been patient, but I'm running out of it."
You chuckle, dismissing his concern. "Come on, Saul. Lighten up. It's not like I'm the only one bending the rules around here."
Saul's stern expression deepens. "That's not an excuse. This isn't a game. You're risking not just your future but the safety of everyone here."
You lean back, crossing your arms defiantly. "I can handle myself, Saul. I don't need you breathing down my neck all the time."
He leans back, frustration evident in his voice. "I'm not doing this to ruin your fun. I'm doing it because I care about you, and I want you to succeed. But you need to start taking things seriously."
You scoff, "Taking things seriously is overrated. I've got skills, Saul. I'll be fine."
He leans back, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Skills alone won't cut it. Discipline and respect for authority are just as crucial. You're not invincible."
You smirk, unimpressed. "I'll worry about that when the time comes. For now, I'll stick to what works for me."
Saul leans forward again, his eyes searching for a way to break through your stubborn facade. "You remind me of someone I used to know, someone who thought the same way you do. It didn't end well for him."
You raise an eyebrow, intrigued despite yourself. "Oh? What happened to this rebel?"
Saul's gaze turns distant, memories surfacing. "He lost sight of what truly mattered, let his ego dictate his choices. I don't want to see history repeat itself."
You pause, the gravity of his words sinking in. "I'm not like anyone else, Saul. I know what I'm doing."
He leans back, resignation in his eyes. "I hope you're right. But if you keep down this path, you might find out how wrong you can be."
You leave his office, the conversation lingering in your mind. Maybe Saul sees something you don't. Or maybe, just maybe, you're destined to carve your own reckless path, consequences be damned.
You sneak through the barrier, convinced you're pulling off the perfect escape from class. As you emerge on the other side, a sense of triumph washes over you. However, that triumph quickly turns to dread as you come face to face with a Burned One – a creature that sends shivers down your spine.
Your eyes widen, and for a moment, you're frozen in place. The Burned One's eerie presence is suffocating. It stands there, grotesque and menacing, the scars of its fiery past evident in every charred inch.
A nervous laugh escapes your lips as you take a step back. "Well, this wasn't part of the plan," you mutter to yourself, hoping against hope that the creature won't notice you.
The Burned One turns its head towards you, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly intensity. Panic sets in, and you fumble for the magic skills you've been learning in class. "Come on, think!" you urge yourself, your mind racing to remember the spells that might help.
As you hastily conjure a protective barrier, the Burned One advances. The magic crackles between you and the creature, a desperate shield against the unknown. Sweat beads on your forehead as you struggle to maintain focus, realizing the gravity of the situation.
The Burned One, undeterred by your feeble defense, lunges forward with unexpected speed. Your heart pounds in your chest as you dodge its attack, narrowly avoiding the fiery claws. "Okay, this is bad. Very bad," you mutter under your breath, trying to think of a way out.
With adrenaline pumping, you muster the courage to retaliate. Focusing your energy, you send a burst of elemental magic towards the Burned One. It howls in response, momentarily staggered. Seizing the opportunity, you sprint in the opposite direction, hoping to put some distance between you and the relentless creature.
As you dart through the forest, your mind races with thoughts of survival. You can hear the Burned One behind you, its unearthly howls echoing through the trees. Panic gives way to determination, and you push yourself to the limits, weaving through the labyrinthine pathways of the magical barrier.
You stumble upon a clearing, and with a quick glance over your shoulder, you realize the Burned One is still hot on your heels. The realization hits you – there's no escaping this encounter. You brace yourself, ready to face the consequences of your reckless actions, hoping that your magic skills and a stroke of luck will be enough to fend off the relentless creature.
You gasp as your foot catches on a hidden root, and you find yourself tumbling to the ground, pain shooting through your ankle. Panic sets in as you realize you're vulnerable, defenseless against the approaching Burned One.
Attempting to rise, you wince at the pain in your ankle. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, you hear a fierce clash behind you. Turning around, your eyes widen in disbelief – there's Saul, standing tall with a sword plunged into the Burned One's chest. The creature lets out a final, agonized howl before collapsing.
Saul's expression is a mix of sternness and relief. He swiftly pulls the sword from the Burned One, and as the creature dissolves into ashes, he turns his attention to you. "You really know how to get yourself into trouble, don't you?" he remarks, offering a hand to help you up.
You accept his assistance, leaning on him to alleviate the strain on your injured ankle. "I didn't expect a rescue mission from you, Saul. What took you so long?"
He smirks, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "I was hoping you'd learn your lesson, but it seems like I need to spell it out for you."
Saul guides you back towards the school, his presence a reassuring anchor. "Skipping class and wandering off alone, especially beyond the barrier, is asking for trouble. You need to understand the dangers out here."
You nod, a bit humbled by the gravity of the situation. "I get it, Saul. I just... I thought I could handle it."
He shakes his head, his expression firm. "Handling situations doesn't mean risking your life recklessly. Your actions affect not only you but everyone in this school."
As you both pass through the magical barrier, Saul's tone softens slightly. "I may act tough, but I care about you. I don't want to see you hurt, and I certainly don't want to clean up after your messes."
You glance at the sword in his hand, still processing the fact that he just saved you. "Thanks, Saul. I guess I owe you one."
He chuckles, "You owe me more than one, kid. Now, let's get you back to the infirmary and hope that sprained ankle teaches you a lesson about consequences."
Walking alongside Saul, you reflect on the day's events. Maybe there's more to learn from the experienced specialist than you thought. As the lecture continues, you can't shake the feeling that this unexpected rescue might be a turning point in your rebellious journey at the school.Despite Saul's heroic intervention, the encounter with the Burned One doesn't have the expected impact on your rebellious streak. If anything, it fuels a newfound defiance within you. The adrenaline rush and the thrill of facing danger only strengthen your belief in your own invincibility.
Days after the incident, you find yourself pushing boundaries even further. Skipping more classes, exploring forbidden areas, and disregarding the warnings of both instructors and fellow students. It's as if the confrontation with the Burned One served as confirmation that you can handle anything thrown your way.
One evening, as you sneak out beyond the magical barrier again, Saul catches you in the act. His stern expression reveals his disappointment, and he confronts you with a mix of frustration and concern. "I thought that encounter would make you think twice about your actions, but it seems I was wrong," he says, his voice tinged with disappointment.
You brush off his words with a nonchalant shrug. "I can handle myself, Saul. I proved that with the Burned One."
He shakes his head, "Proving you can survive doesn't mean you should keep putting yourself in harm's way. This isn't a game, and you're not invincible."
Your rebellious grin widens, "Maybe I'm just not cut out for this goody-two-shoes specialist life. I'll forge my own path."
Saul's patience wears thin. "This isn't about being a goody-two-shoes. It's about responsibility and understanding the consequences of your actions. You're heading down a dangerous path, and I won't stand by while you self-destruct."
Ignoring his words, you slip away into the shadows, leaving Saul frustrated and concerned. The allure of rebellion, the thrill of pushing boundaries, becomes an addiction that blinds you to the genuine care Saul has for your well-being.
As your reckless behavior continues, whispers circulate among your peers about the wild specialist who seems determined to defy every rule in the book. The school's reputation is at stake, and Saul, torn between duty and a sense of paternal concern, struggles to rein in your rebellious spirit.
The question remains – will the consequences of your actions finally catch up with you, or will your defiance lead to an even more perilous situation? Only time will tell if you'll heed Saul's warnings or continue down the turbulent path you've chosen.

You dropped your bag on the grass by the training platform. Riven and Dane practicing. You watched them as Riven punched Dane to the ground. Out of breath walked he to the edge where you stood. – “Come to enjoy the show sis?” – Riven said moving his hands out. You scrunched your nose, shaking your head, hands on your lower back. – “It wasn’t really a show was it.” – you pointed out.
Dane sat up backing your sass up with a loud ‘ooh’. – “Shut up!” – Riven called out, looking over his shoulder. You held your arms up wanting your brother to help you up. Riven sighed soft helping you on the platform. You motioned to them to attack you. – “You serious?” – Riven chuckled out. – “Pretty much.” – you replied with a bit of attitude. Dane and Riven shared a brief glance. – “Alright, you asked for it Y/n.” – Riven said readying himself. He brought his fists up as Dane did the same.
Riven punched at you as you pushed his hand away. Then Dane’s approaching punch. Riven moved his elbow your way as you blocked it. Dane came in with another punch as you easily deflected it. Riven turned as he kicked his leg at you. You blocked it with both arms. Dane attacked you as you grabbed a hold of his wrist, pulling him down.
He took a full spin, needing to catch his balance before he would tumble down. Your brother struck his arm at you as you blocked it. You then took it, twisting it over your head as you spun around. His arm twisted now. You held Dane on a distance by kicking at him. It hit him right in the stomach as he stumbled to the ground. Riven gave your arm a punch, realizing your grip a bit.
He took your arm, twisting it behind your back. You kicked backwards creating a bit of distance between him. Silva walked across letting his gaze go over to the platform where he observed from afar. Pulling your arm away, spun you back around to face him. You swept your leg in the air as Riven ducked underneath it. You gave him a kick, hitting his fists close to his chest. He stumbled back, readying his fists once more as you lowered your hands with a cheeky smile.
He dropped his hands as well. – “I knew you’d improve.” – he complimented catching his breath. Dane joined you, breathing out loud. – “I heard you were good at taking on two guys at once.” – Dane commented. As a reaction kicked you him in the chest. He doubled with a loud grunt. Silva chuckled a laugh out, lowering his gaze.
Riven gave you a fist bump. He then threw his arm around you. You spotted Silva taking his leave as it intrigued you. A mischievous smile curling up. You spun from underneath his arm, letting your hand rest on his shoulder to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. – “See you around Riven.” – you said. Riven watched you jump off the platform, picking your bag up from the ground. You started running over the field to where Silva had gone.
He headed back to Alfea. You ran as fast as you could to keep up with him but also stay out of sight. Silva entered the building as you slowed down. You entered as well, shutting the door silently behind you. You didn’t want Silva to know you were coming. You snuck closer to the corner, having a peek behind it. There he was walking slowly. You let your bag down onto the ground, running up to him. You called it out as you were about to tackle him.
Saul grabbed your wrist, throwing you onto the ground over his shoulder. You landed on your back, chuckling in pain. Saul on his knee beside you. – “Oh come on I had you!” – you said still laying down. Saul shook his head with a smile. – “For one, your battle cry gave you away.” – he commented. You held your hand out. Saul took it, assisting you up to your feet.
“But that was good practice, you should keep those surprise attacks up. It keeps you alert.” – he said with a smile. Saul and you were gazing at each other as he still held your wrist. He cleared his throat, letting go of you. – “I…I should go.” – he stated looking nervously around. You turned around to follow his movement, watching him take his leave. It made you sigh soft admiring him from behind.
Saul looked briefly over his shoulder, catching you staring hopelessly at him. He lowered his gaze, looking forwards once more. You turned around heading for the other direction. On your way you collected your bag, going back outside. There you took a deep breath. Was this how it always would be? Too scared to admit what both of you felt inside. At first you just thought it was some fairy myth a hopeless romantic had come up with. Yet it wasn’t just a myth anymore. You had felt it with Saul. Both of you knew that you were each other’s soulmate.
It was as pure as crystals. You didn’t know why it was this secret or awkward between the two of you. Perhaps it was because he was your instructor and you one of his students? You decided to clear your head, going across the green field. You crossed over to the woods wanting to be as far away from school as possible. In the woods stumbled you across the stone circles known where the fairies showed their magic as first years.
You came sitting down in front of a large stone, your hand ruffling through your hair with a deep sigh. The hearing of twigs snap under a shoe made you startle. You jumped up ready for any surprise attacks. From between the trees emerged a specialist. You lowered your hands, easing your stance. – “Oh it’s you.” – you called out recognizing him but not really knowing his name. He widened his eyes brief at you, not thinking anyone else would be here.
He walked closer as both of you felt the awkwardness grow. – “Hey… aren’t you Riven’s sister?” – he suddenly asked cutting through the silence. – “I am.” – you responded taking a step back. He nodded looking around to the ground. – “Uhm… I wasn’t aware anyone would come here too…” – you said sheepishly. – “Yeah… I didn’t think I’d find you here.” – he answered with a chuckle.
He went around the stone circle as you kept a close eye on him. – “I…uhm… I can leave if you like. I am honestly not doing anything here so…” – you explained to him. – “I can’t say for sure what you intended to do here but I for one had no plans.” – you added. – “Me neither.” – he spoke back. You backed away bumping against the stone as he approached you.
Saul ventured through the woods to clear his mind. He came to a pause, hearing voices. One clear voice that he recognized anywhere. Yours. He also heard another male voice, making him frown. Silva decided to seek out what was occurring. He came to a sudden stop seeing you by the stones. Staring with a mixture of jealousy and disgust. Something overtook him as he stormed over. He grabbed the guy by his shoulder, pulling him firm away from you.
“Saul!” – you called out with a startle. – “Are you alright?” – he asked you, touching your elbow. – “Yes! Why wouldn’t I be?” – you responded confused. – “I thought… he… I saw…” – he blurted out confused, taking a step back. He looked over his shoulder to the specialist. – “I thought he was… I swear I saw him… you…” – he breathed out, unbale to control his emotions. – “What? Saul nothing happened.” – you reassured him. You pulled at his vest, forcing him to look at you.
“He just wanted me to give this back to Riven!” – you said, showing him the earplugs in your hand. – “Apparently Riven had left it in his dorm after a party. I knew he was looking for it but couldn’t find it. He just gave it back to me since I am more likely to see my brother than him.” – you explained. Saul blinked confused, exhaling long. You let go of him lowering your hands. Saul turned around calling out loud. – “Go!” – The specialist nodded, taking a run for it.
You crossed your arms, quirking your eyebrow up. – “Did you really think something else was occurring?” – you asked. Saul swallowed, looking guilty away. You gave him a hard push against his shoulder. – “I can’t believe you would think I would flirt with someone else!” – you shouted pissed. – “I’m sorry Y/n… I…It just looked suspicious from where I was standing.” – Saul responded. – “I would never do that!” – you called out, punching him in the armpit once more.
Saul grunted in pain, taking the blow. – “In case you forgot you are my soulmate, Saul. You are what I breath, no one else.” – you made clear to him. – “I know… I know Y/n. I have not forgotten that.” – he answered letting his hands rest on your arms. – “Then why does it feel like you do… do…do you regret that it is me?” – you lowered your gaze with pity. Feeling as if you had failed him. That you weren’t what he wanted. – “No!” – he yelled out, grabbing your arms firmly. – “No… not one bit Y/n.” – he confessed. You took a deep breath looking up to him. – “Saul… I can’t keep up with this… the secrecy…” – you said. – “I know… me neither…” – he responded letting his forehead rest against yours.
His hands ventured up your arms to your cheeks. – “I love you Y/n. That will never change.” – he whispered letting his gaze go from your eyes to your lips. Your eyes went down to his lips as well, the urge to kiss him out of control. Saul tilted his head a bit to the side, cupping your cheeks. He closed his eyes, lips inches away from yours. You leaned in as well, eyes still open. Your expression hardened as you took a hold of his arm. You tackled him to the ground since he was off guard. Silva fell down, groaning in pain.
“Yes!” – you called out. – “I got you!” – you cheered. Saul chuckled at how you had tricked him. – “Not so sly on your feet are you now?” – you teased with a cheeky smile. Saul sat down, grabbing your wrist. With one swift pull stumbled you down onto him. He fell backwards onto the ground, your weight on him. You squealed loud when he rolled you over, coming to lay on top of you.
Both his hands holding you down by your wrists. – “You were saying.” – he said with a smirk. – “That I still out best you.” – you spoke. – “Is that what you want me to say? That you are a remarkable quick study, That you bring originality to training.” – he answered smiling. – “Yeah, I want you to say all those things and more.”  - you responded with a bit of sass. Saul stared down at you. – “Good day Y/n.” – he spoke getting up and pulling you up by your wrists.
“That’s it?” – you called out as he took his distance from you. He stood with his back to you, trying to hide his smile. – “Guess I’ll just have to call that guy back, maybe he can…” – you didn’t have to finish your sentence as Saul had turned around. Grabbing you firm as he pressed his lips onto yours. You threw your arms around him, leading the kiss to a passionate one.

oh I missed the 3 sentence fic meme, is it too late to chime in with a prompt?
if not, how about Silrah + spies & secret agents?
Ooh, I love this idea so much. 💙 Almost took it down a canon-variant path, but ended up going with a vaguely nonspecific no-powers setting instead. (Almost had one of them with the knife to the other’s throat too, but … well.)
“The young gentleman on your right,” she murmurs, “blue coat, dark hair,” and he hums acknowledgement as the turn of the dance gives him an unimpeded view of the man in question, squiring Andros’ junior ambassador across the floor, “is one of his,” and it could mean anything it not for the missive she’d slipped him at the start of the evening, when he’d bowed over her hand in the receiving line and made her promise him a dance later — a tactic they’ve used more than once since the outbreak of the war drew Eraklyon and Solaria, and the two of them by extension, into an uneasy alliance to combat a mutual threat. He trusts her as little as his king does her queen, in the bigger picture, but politics has always made for strange bedfellows, and his line of work is no less political for being conducted in the shadows — never mind that those shadows are at times as brightly lit as the grand Eraklyan ballroom, ablaze with candles for the winter solstice fête; never mind that his partner blazes nearly as brightly, glittering with gems at her throat and in her intricately upswept hair, when he knows she is as familiar with those shadows as he is, and far more comfortable there than here.
They will meet again later somewhere dark and quiet, furtive as lovers, for a conference of confidences and hushed whispers in service to the rulers and the realms they have both sworn their lives to, but for now there are eyes upon them and a game to be played, and so he twirls her across the ballroom floor and grants himself a respite from those duties in the warmth of her touch and the wryly knowing humour of her eyes, and tries not to think of the day when they may once again find themselves on opposite sides of a war, all this intimacy reforged to strike at each other instead; they have learned each other too well, in this erstwhile alliance, and he thinks — not for the first time — that she alone would know enough for her blade to find its way between his ribs, for how could it be otherwise when she has already pierced his heart?

You KNOW I had to send an ask for the kiss one…this is so hard to pick but silrah and 48?
Silrah × Kiss out of habit
Saul admittedly wasn't a morning person. He never had been.
He had gotten used to the early schedule his life demanded over the years but that didn't mean he was fully functional in the early minutes of the morning. No, for that he needed a cup of strong coffee and a few minutes of bleary eyed staring at the wall, out of the window or -preferably- Farah.
That hadn't changed after breaking out of prison and taking shelter in the First World.
He groaned and reached over, finding the mattress next to him lacking the woman his hands sought out. Of course she was already up. Apparently not even dying could force Farah Dowling to sleep in for once.
Without her presence the warm bed quickly lost its appeal due to the growing uneasiness that spread whenever she wasn't at his side. The need to make sure she was safe had him throw back the cover and swing his legs out with more energy than the early hour usually allowed.
His hands moved mechanically, brain still not fully awake as he pulled a shirt over his head and slipped into a pair of jeans.
As soon as he opened the door to their guest room the warm fragrance of coffee tickled his nose, piercing tiny holes into the fog of sleep still shrouding his thoughts. He followed it to the Peters' kitchen, pausing in the doorway to drink in the sight.
Farah stood at the counter, hair falling over her shoulder in a loose braid. She wore simple loose pants and a smooth, silky looking blouse that practically begged for him to run his fingers over the fabric. The picture of her pouring coffee, hip braced against the counter stirred a sense of peace in him that he hadn't felt for quite a while, reminding him of quiet mornings spent in her suite, bracing for a day full of classes.
Having sensed his presence the fairy turned, a warm smile spreading on her lips as he stepped over. "Of course he can smell the coffee even in his sleep."
"Good morning to you too, Farah."
Instead of an answer she offered him a fresh cup of coffee, knowing glint in her hazel eyes and that mirthful grin widening.
Saul accepted it gratefully, leaning over to give her a quick kiss in thanks. Her lips still carried a hint of coffee and he hummed appreciatively. But Farah stiffened immediately, her eyes widened in surprise and before he could ask what was wrong the soft click of a spoon against porcelain had him whirl towards the dining table.
The dining table currently occupied by Bloom, her spoon hovering somewhere between cereal bowl and mouth, frozen with shock.

My farewell to the one who quite literally makes me wanna be a better person,
Farah Dowling
"Someone to stay" by Vancouver Sleep Clinic
to speak the truth, I disliked many things this season, thought they could’ve been done better. but Farah, is not one of these things. she was back, everything we said was true, from her eyes shining hinting that she used magic, through her knowing what Rosalind is about to do and all the way to the tree theory. I know some will say it was fan service, I honestly don’t believe that. I genuinely think they were meant to bring her back this entire time, Eve got busy with HotD and chose to give up Fate. so they went “ok, but can we have you for one last goodbye?” and Eve being the amazing person I believe her to be, who was probably told how much fans were affected by her character, agreed, even though it was from far away. and taking all of that into consideration, filming the scenes apart and using tons of editing, they really worked hard to give us the closure that was needed. of course, it was heartbreaking, bawled my eyes out for the next 20 mins before moving to the next episode, I wish she came back for good. but life is dynamic and my girl is kicking ass riding dragons in an HBO hit show right now. I’m proud of her.
to be clear, this is a goodbye for canon Farah. but my Farah, is alive and well. and this is not just for my Farah and Silrah people, this is for everyone who for any reason is disappointed: canon is NOT the end of the world, don’t like it? that’s okay. wish it to be better? AMAZING. this is exactly what fandoms are for, this is what fans and art and fanfics are for. write, draw, roleplay, discuss, edit, CREATE your OWN canon. the possibilities are ENDLESS, we have imagination for a reason. the characters, whoever they may be, are with you, in your heart, and you have your own personal take on them with your own pov and ideas and NO ONE can ever take that from you. MAKE. YOUR. OWN. STORIES. don’t feel like you have any artistic skills? dream and fantasize, let your head run wild! my Farah, my Saul are living in my mind rent free, living the lives I want them to have. and you can do the exact same. once you have this mindset, you can be unstoppable. want Andreas and Bea to have their own little happy family with Sky and Saul? open a word doc and write it. wanna make Rivusa live a cottage life in the mountains? pick up a pen and sketch. wished for Ben and Luna to be frenemies? edit a video. you are capable of turning things your way, only because the writers chose a specific path doesn’t mean you have to choose it too.
make it YOURS.

Saul Silva x Autistic!teen!reader - you can do anything
Tumblr media
please can i request a Saul Silva and teen reader comfort, maybe an autistic reader if possible, thanks - Anon💜
Looking at all the others students training with magic or training as specialists, you sighed a little bit wondering away from the training grounds.
Lately you had been slacking off with your training, feeling like it didn’t really matter what you did.
You had the magic, but unlike everybody else’s, yours wasn’t as effective as theirs, after all, who would hire an animal fairy who couldn’t be in any fights?
You were only at Alfea because that’s where you were sent the moment you were old enough, you were sent into the school and you wondered why they even accepted you.
You had no real power like all the others.
Wondering to the forest, you walked past the tree line and sat down in your little spot, resting your head against the tree.
You tapped a finger on your leg, following a beat from a song you had been listening to earlier as you watched a small heard of deer ahead of you.
One of them looked at you and you smiled a little bit.
“Hello friend.”
The stag carefully approached and sniffed at you, then slowly laid down beside you, resting his head on your lap.
“You seem healthier than you have been, and bigger, I hope I managed to get all that poison out of you.”
The stag let out a small huff and you smiled to yourself, running your hand over his antlers.
“You’re my only real friend, you come to see me everyday.”
The other deer slowly came over, grazing or laying down with you.
This was the only part of Alfea you really enjoyed, the animals that lived in the surrounding areas.
When they all looked in one direction, you joined them, watching as someone came through the trees, and you moved your hand.
“Go on.”
The heard got up and ran away, and when the blur of jumped animals vanished, you could see the specialists headmaster standing in front of you.
“It’s not safe in the forest, you need to come back.” Silva said.
You looked at him, and you turned away, going back to tapping your hand to the beat.
“(Y/N) let’s go.”
You said nothing and he sighed, walking to stand in front of you.
“It’s not safe, not with everything going on, I get Andreas may have let you out here but let’s go come on.”
You glared at Silva.
“I come here to get away from you people.” You snapped.
“Right don’t speak to me that way, we were fine before I was arrested. And you were fine with me during that time as well.”
You turned away from him.
Silva sighed, sitting down in front of you, resting his sword in his lap.
“(Y/N)?”
You began hitting your leg a little, something Silva immediately noticed.
“Hey, hey calm down, it’s okay. You’re alright.” He said gently.
You clenched your jaw a little bit, trying to fight the tears as you began getting more and more worked up.
“You left.”
“I know, I know I’m sorry.”
“You went away… then Miss Dowling went away…”
Tears began streaming down your face, and you began hitting your head on the tree behind you.
“No, no, no, no, don’t do that. Don’t do that (Y/N).”
Silva rushed forward, placing his hand on the back of your head so you wouldn’t hurt yourself.
“You’re okay, you’re alright okay? You’re safe. I’m here, it’s okay.”
Silva kept reassuring you that you were okay, and after a while you calmed down a little bit.
“They said I shouldn’t be here…”
“What?”
You sniffled a little.
“Said someone like me will never get a job anywhere…”
Silva slowly nodded his head, moving his hand from the back of your head and hid it under his arm so you wouldn’t get more upset.
“Listen to me okay? You can get any job you want to if you put the work in, yes you may struggle with some things that the other students don’t, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get the same jobs (Y/N).’
“I’m just an animal fairy…”
Silva nodded his head.
“Exactly, and there isn’t many of those about (Y/N), you’re one of the highest sought out fairies in the whole realm. You can do all sorts of jobs, but you need to work for that.”
You glanced at him.
“You’re a good student (Y/N), and you’re more than capable of passing, and I promise you that whatever they said while I was away isn’t true okay?”
You shrugged a little.
“I’ve been your caretaker since you came here, do you trust me?”
You looked at him again.
“Do you trust me (Y/N)?”
You nodded a little bit.
Silva smiled, standing up, grabbing his sword and holding out his other hand then.
“Come on inside then.”
You let him pull you up, and you let go of his hand straight after.
Silva led you out of the forest and towards the school.
“You’re going to be okay, alright?”
“Okay…”
Silva looked a you, sighing a little to himself.
He had spent so long building up your confidence and in the few months he was away that had all been knocked down again.
But he was going to build it up so you knew that whatever you wanted to do, despite what other people thought you could do it

Thoughts on the Fate: The Winx Saga Prequel Lighting the Fire
I read this entire book in a day. I didn’t plan on doing that, but here we are. I also jotted down ten pages worth of thoughts as I read, but did my best to condense them into something coherent and not ten pages. I am absolutely going to spend a large amount of time focusing on Farah and Saul, but I will also talk about the other characters and my overall thoughts. This is a long one folks, sorry not sorry. All opinions are completely my own, obviously, and I respect that others may feel differently and invite them to say so because I’d love to talk about it!
First, a short summary: It’s a year before the events of Fate and Farah has decided to host an orientation day for prospective students. In the meantime, she heads to the First World after discovering a letter from Rosalind about something “precious” left there. While she’s gone, Stella tries to set up her best friend Rikki with Riven and ropes them into helping she and Sky decorate for the orientation day. Riven suggests Farah and Callum are dating; Riven and Terra are friends and then not; and Stella tricks Aisha into accidentally drenching Farah while trying to “expose” her affair with Callum. Callum doses the kids with truth potion and everyone says embarrassing things. Farah meets Bloom but doesn’t realize her significance, and Saul and Sky struggle to admit that they care about one another.
Before I dive into my favorite bits, I’m going to briefly touch on the parts I felt were lacking:
The addition of Musa, Aisha, Beatrix, and any other s1 character cameos: I’m not mad about it, but it doesn’t feel like their bits added very much beyond what we already knew about them. Aisha is a perfectionist, she loves to swim, and she struggles with her magic because of her perfectionism. Musa’s mother has passed and she was there when it happened, felt her die, which is tragic and heartbreaking but again, we already knew this. They’re all are implied to have met, yet never acknowledge this after the fact. I know the book came out after, obviously, but I am a sucker for continuity especially when it’s not difficult. Shoehorning in the characters is one thing, but having them interact in such a memorable way -Stella literally convinced Aisha to inadvertently drench Farah with fountain water and Aisha and Musa had a meaningful conversation- and have that not able to be addressed in canon is a personal pet peeve.
The conspiracy about Farah and Callum: Irrelevant. It’s meant to be amusing, and I can see it playing out very well as a side-plot in a teen comedy reminiscent of the classic Disney Channel or Nickelodeon shows, but it’s out of place here. It’s meant to inject some humor, but I think it falls flat and complicates too much: Stella knows Callum is shifty, but not once does this come up from her after his disappearance in s1. It's an excuse to pit Stella and Riven against each other in an amusing frenemies way.
The misunderstandings: Listen, who doesn’t love a good misunderstanding adding unnecessary angst? That’s the good shit -when it’s done right. The misunderstandings in this book, for me, were gratuitous and senseless. Nearly every character had a different opinion about the other characters intentions. It’s the “if they just talked to each other this would get cleared up so much faster” x1000000. And then it does get cleared up, with truth potion. The truth potion, I’m sorry, was such a stupid addition and felt like it was literally an excuse to get the characters to talk about their feelings without worrying about keeping them “in character” because they were dosed with truth potion and couldn’t help what they were saying. I, personally, thought it was a bit lazy, and the blatant OOCness of the characters’ dialogue at that point was almost unbearable.
The dialogue: Was at times a bit stilted and robotic, and didn’t flow smoothly nor did the character’s voices always fit: Saul saying “what’s up nerd” to Ben, or essentially quoting the “as a treat” meme; Riven referring to people as “my guy;” Stella’s lengthy insults that dulled their wit. I didn’t hate the dialogue, and this is no shade to the author, but as with fanfiction (which this is canon fanfiction basically) there are times when the characterization and dialogue just don’t match up to our personal understanding of the characters, and that’s where I was at. I did enjoy Riven’s wit, but even that lost its charm as the story wore on.
On to specifics: I’m going to start with Riven and Stella, because they are both characters we learned a lot about in this book and especially with Riven, I gained a new appreciation for his character.
Riven
I must admit, watching the show, I bought into Riven's act and really didn't like him as a character. I also didn't like the OG cartoon Riven because he was also so hot and cold to Musa. But these additions to his character really have me feeling for him, because it comes across to me like he didn't want to immediately reinvent himself, but rather find people who accepted him as-is. And he didn't find that. Important things we learn:
Right out of the gate, we're treated to his self-deprecating thoughts on getting a "PhD in being a total loser," before he loses a sparring match to Sky. It's clear that they are not friends, that Riven is insanely jealous of Sky, and he's also insanely insecure.
He doesn’t want to be a specialist: “nobody asked [him]” if that’s what he wanted, so I guess he didn’t really have a choice.
All he really wants is "a small gang of friends to hang out and judge others with." Which like, same.
Riven is also ignorant of Solarian royalty because he doesn't recognize Stella. It implies, to me, that Riven grew up somewhere remote enough (perhaps not in Solaria?) to not be aware of something so "basic." He does know who Andreas is, and also unwittingly insults him (and Stella) to Sky, and thus assumes Sky hates him.
Riven and Terra were friends (which we knew) because she found him crying in the greenhouse one day and assumed he was being bullied by Sky and he had an affinity for potionology and cool plants.
Overall, Riven’s character gets a decent fleshing out, although his “villain origin story” falls a bit flat in my opinion because there isn’t much drive behind it. He goes from wanting real friends to wanting to be cool, then decides if he can’t be cool he’ll be mean, then ends up friends with Sky anyway even though he still doesn’t really like him? And Terra cuts him off because -and I’m very proud of her- relationships are a two-way street and Riven’s not pulling his weight.
To be completely honest I don’t understand why Riven and Sky are friends. They’re at odds for most of the story because Riven thinks Sky is stuck up and patronizing and Sky thinks Riven is a jerk with a good but sometimes insulting sense of humor. Only when the truth potion has them admit those things do they become friends, but then Riven overhears Sky say he “doesn’t take Riven seriously” and… are they friends now? They hug, but Riven’s drunk, so, like, I’m confused. Sky constantly tried to help Riven which is nice, but Riven didn’t ask for it, and Riven still feels insulted by Sky’s one-upmanship.
There’s honestly an overwhelming disservice done to Riven’s character by the others, primarily with regards to his thinking and sense of humor, which I get. His jokes are hurtful, his comments are disrespectful, but everyone seems to be passing it off as “that’s just Riven, and he’s an ass” without making literally any effort to help him realize it’s wrong, except Terra. And she’s a teenage girl on the opposite end of what Riven considers “cool” so there’s no way her words are going to hold any weight.
Stella
On my first watch-through of Fate I was not Stella's biggest fan. I hated how different she was from the OG cartoon, but as the story continued on and found its footing I came to appreciate her for the Stella of Fate without comparing her to the Stella of Winx. I think she has a lot of growing to do, and truthfully to me the character development in Stella is very weak, but I have hope they'll do her justice in s2. Important things we learn:
Stella is perfect, as she must be. She is greatly looking forward to her first year at Alfea because it means she's away from her mother and can finally be noticed. It hadn't occurred to me before this that on top of their contentious relationship being one of pressure and expectations, Stella is overshadowed by her mother's perfect image and doesn't ever get to be herself.
Stella uses her ring to attend Fashion Week in the First World, and I love it.
Stella is afraid of the dark because Luna used illusions to scare her, maybe used her magic to steal Stella's sight and make her believe she was in total darkness alone. The darkness also gives her nightmares, and she wishes she had a roommate (since she has the single room) and so she has to choose between Rikki and another suitemate Ilaria because "if your best friend didn't want to share with you, then you didn't have a best friend" and that makes me so sad for her.
Stella is with Sky for 2 reasons: image, and because he saw the real her "even when her mother's radiance made Stella all but invisible" which she appreciates, but is starting to realize isn't a reason to date someone because she'd rather hang out with her friends. It breaks my heart knowing that the Stella of first year felt she had true friends, and that she'll later lose them because of what happens with Rikki.
Stella treats Sky as a trophy a lot of the time, like a puppet to control or a toy to play with and this is very clearly her mother’s influence. It’s also very clear in Stella’s voice, because she insinuates Sky is weak for caring about this who aren’t on his “level” like Riven, or the five kittens he bottle-fed at the palace (adorable). Overall the things Stella says and her immediate thoughts after don’t mesh, which tells me they’re not meant to: her words are mean, her thoughts are not, and having learned from Luna, I have no doubt this was behavior she picked up, because Luna has always been cutting and never constructive in her criticism.
Stella genuinely looks up to and respects Farah, unlike her mother. She acknowledges that she’s Alfea’s center and that she feels she could go to Farah if she were ever “in danger.” When Stella goes to Farah for discipline for the part she played in drenching her with fountain water, she admits that she thinks Farah is more beautiful than her mother, Farah calls her a “privilege” when Stella feels like a burden and a disappointment, and Stella decides that when she’s queen, she wants to be exactly like Farah: calm, collected, and never making anyone feel inferior or scared for messing up.
Stella doesn’t go through any major character development again, but then she isn’t meant to, at this point. This is pre-Rikki’s blinding, so she doesn’t even become the person we see in s1, but we do see who she was before this -a bright, hopeful girl desperate to be seen for who she is not what she can do- and knowing what she becomes makes it all the more heartbreakingly tragic.
Now onto my two favorite parts: Sky and Saul, and Farah and Saul.
Sky and Saul (Saul's name is spelled Saúl, just as an aside)
I will say that by the time I’ve reached Saul’s pov, 30% into the book, I am already at odds with his description. It can’t be helped if that’s how other characters perceive him, but he’s far too cold for my liking. Saul in the show is stern, maybe not the best at expressing himself, but he’s not cold and he’s not mean, and he borders mean far too often in this book.
Sky's depiction of Saul's parenting makes my heart hurt, and is what I take the most issue with. Essentially, in this depiction, Sky is a duty and an obligation Saul has to put up with, and only does so because of his guilt for killing Andreas. Farah says Saul is proud of Sky but has trouble showing it, Sky doesn’t seem to think Saul cares for him at all unless he’s useful: "Every time Sky was the best, Sky proved he was worth caring for.” I disagree with this depiction for a lot of very obvious reasons. In the show, it’s very clear from RBJ’s performance as Saul that he is proud of Sky and he does care for him, and it’s very much because of his expressions and the delivery of his lines. And it can be hard to capture that in the written word, especially from the pov of a character like Sky who isn’t picking up on the nuances of Saul and his emotions the way an audience would if they were watching it play out. Like the scene where Saul calls Sky an idiot for going after the burned one, and says “your father would’ve been proud” and we can tell he’s proud, and relieved Sky is safe, and was worried for his safety, based on RBJ’s performance, but Sky doesn’t see it, and the crushed disappointment on Danny Griffin’s face tells us that Sky wanted Saul to be proud and is upset he didn’t say it. So on the one hand, I can’t fault this interpretation of Sky and Saul’s relationship from Sky’s pov if that’s how Sky sees it. But I can disagree with it because there are still parts that are just major Nope moments.
Saul getting angry that Sky asked if he could call him “dad?” Does Saul ever get actually angry in the show even?? No! He gets irritated, he gets upset, but he doesn’t get angry, and especially not angry enough to shake a child by the shoulders until he’s in tears and tell him with "cold fury" he can’t call him dad. That is so far from the Saul Silva I know that it didn’t even happen. It’s gone in my brain and straight back out because that is not the Saul-Sky father-son relationship I believe them to have and I don’t think it’s even just “not my canon,” it’s just completely OOC. Their relationship is layered and complicated because yes, I believe Sky sometimes thinks Saul only looks after him because of Andreas. And yes, I think Saul feels so guilty about Andreas that he doesn’t think it’s fair he gets to be “dad” because he took that chance from Andreas. These are definitely things that impact their relationship and the shape it takes, but this book is insinuating that Saul is cold and unfeeling to the point that Sky genuinely does not think Saul cares about him in the slightes because he’s just “so good at hiding it” -nah. Nope, not my Saul Silva.
I do agree with the characterization of Saul as Sky’s-not father not in his harshness, but in his feelings about it, because Saul doesn’t feel he deserves nice, good things after all he’s done: “Silva didn’t deserve to be his father.” It’s heartbreaking to consider that Saul never intended to keep Sky, but I actually do think it fits: Saul returns from Aster Dell to see Sky “one final time” and Sky took his first steps towards Saul, and Saul hadn’t been able to let him go. It’s adorable and sadly beautiful to consider Saul, fresh from killing his best friend and visiting the boy he just orphaned, fully prepared to let the boy go because he has no business being near him after what he did, and just. Not being able to. Looking into baby Sky’s face and remembering the promise he made to Andreas to “always look out for [Sky]” and not being able to leave him behind because it’s his fault Sky is an orphan. I don’t think Saul was at all prepared to take Sky in, I think he intended for that to be a last visit, and then returned to Alfea with a baby in his arms and never looked back. And we know he loves him: “Nobody could be as proud of Sky as Saul was.” Which is why it’s especially sad Saul doesn’t think he deserves that pride, that love, or to be called “dad.” He also calls Sky his “best boy” and my heart is melting.
By the end of the book they clear the air and have a sort-of heart to heart where Saul is firm that he’s never regretted taking Sky in, and Sky is equally firm in that he’s never regretted being taken in by Saul, which is sweet, but doesn’t make up for Saul being a drill sergeant and a jerk for most of the book.
Another major issue I have is the implication that Farah and Saul are distant from the Harvey family here. I understand if Farah and maybe even Saul felt distant from the happy family life because of their guilt and shame, but I don't for a second believe it wasn't there at their disposal. The implication here is that Ben raised Terra and Sam, Saul raised Sky, and Farah was headmistress, and they were all kept very separate from each other. Nope. Not for me. Sure, Farah probably planned to have dinners alone and spend her free hours alone, but if Ben didn't absolutely push for her to spend time with his kids, 100 percent they'd have taken it upon themselves to seek her out. It's stated that Terra finds Saul and Farah to be unapproachable and that Saul is "a completely terrifying person." Terra has a very brief interaction with Farah that feels unnatural and OOC because this book assumes they're not close, and I assume they are. Terra's nervous rambling is captured well, and when she does become a student I fully support her referring to Farah as "Miss Dowling" or "Headmistress Dowling" but only because Farah will be her teacher. Right now she should be calling her "Auntie Farah" and I won't accept anything less.
Apparently the reason the kids never played together was because once Saul and Ben let them and Terra used her magic to have vines smack Sky around while he fought back with a sword and Ben thought they were being “prepared for war” and not just having normal kid fun. If Saul was so determined to raise Sky to live up to Andreas' legacy but also not treat him how he and the others were treated under Rosalind, there's no way he'd have hidden Sky away training him to be a solider from the age of one. And the one time they do get to interact as kids, Ben puts a stop to it because he thinks it’s somehow training them for war? I don’t buy it. The Golden Trio of Fate and their children are a little Alfea family and I will die on this hill, Fate canon can bite me.
Farah
Before I actually focus solely on the Silrah parts of this story, I want to focus on Farah individually because we learn several interesting things:
Farah hired Callum specifically because he was human in a move that feels reminiscent of Dumbledore hiring Filch "to show people humans and fairies working together in harmony" and acknowledges that Callum has "somewhat of a chip on his shoulder" likely because he's human and I am assuming has been treated poorly at the hands of fairies for being "lesser."
Farah has spent the last sixteen years trying to atone for the sins she committed under Rosalind's commands but ultimately feels unsuccessful.
The First World is regarded as this strange place without magic and with electricity that many, Farah included, are unfamiliar with. It’s later said “magic hadn’t even crossed over” to the First World apart from changelings, which I disagree with because I view the worlds as being like wizards and muggles. Personally I think there’s kind of Men in Black side to the First World, where magic exists and is regulated and those who use it and live or travel there have to be registered and check in, and yeah most of the humans have no clue, but not because it just doesn’t exist there, but because they’re not meant to know.
Farah is and feels separate from her students. She has "mastered many fairy magics" but as a mind fairy she is wary of getting closer to others because they don't want to get close to her in case she reads their thoughts/feelings, and likewise she doesn't get close to them because of the overload to her senses. "Long ago, Farah had learned to keep her distance to protect herself and others:" to me, this implies that Farah has been distant from other people for a long time, as far back as her own student days, and I personally headcanon she was bullied or treated poorly by others during that time and thus learned to close herself off and this was later encouraged by Rosalind because if she had no connections, she had no weaknesses. I can even imagine Rosalind threatening Farah, or insinuating to Farah that if Farah grew close to others, she would hurt them, so Farah kept her distance. "Farah looked around Alfea with the affection she didn't know how to show her students:" so first of all, ow, this breaks my heart, and secondly, it reminds me of that line from Rosalind in s1, when she tells Bloom she needed love from her parental figure and Farah couldn't have given that to her. Excuse me Rosalind but whose fault is that??
Farah has nightmares of the things she's done under Rosalind's command and her greatest fear is turning into Rosalind and treating her students the way she was treated.
Farah feels like an outsider compared to Saul (who has Sky) and Ben (who has Terra and Sam), and all she has is Alfea. "She had both no children and many children:" I love this line for a lot of reasons. First because, to an extent, I agree with the idea that Farah feels separate. Despite how close she is with her friends and their kids, she is still removed from them, and I understand, because of everything she's gone through, that although the kids may see her as a maternal figure, Farah herself might not, not because she doesn't love them, but because that's a good, nice thing, and Farah wouldn't allow herself to have that. She's spent 16 years making up for the past and feeling guilty about it, she's not going to readily accept the good things in her life because she may not feel she deserves them after all she's done. I also love this line because regardless of Farah's intentions, she subconsciously loves every child that comes through Alfea's doors, even if she struggles to show it. It's ironic to me, but also fitting considering other parallels, that Rosalind would view love as a weakness (like Voldemort) and try to train the love out of Farah, who now believes herself incapable of love, when in actuality she possesses and unknowingly receives so much love it might ultimately be what saves her (idk if this makes her Harry Potter, or Lily, which makes Bloom Harry). Because regardless of whatever her fate ends up being in the show, the love and loyalty and respect her students and friends and family have for her is ultimately going to be Rosalind's downfall, I believe, and if it doesn't play a part what in the hell are you doing Fate?
It’s confirmed Farah cried after Aster Dell. She didn’t, in the flashback we saw, but I imagine that was a “steady on” moment and it wasn’t until later she actually broke down because that seems like just the Farah thing to do. Saul says it was the “only” time he saw Farah cry, which I might believe only because it’s very easy to talk oneself out of crying if you have enough practice as I suspect Farah does, so even with nightmares, she likely doesn’t cry, or doesn’t let the tears fall, which is why Saul’s only seen her cry the one time.
I am very intrigued about Farah's trip to the First World because I am currently working on a story about it, so to see a canon-adjacent version of how she met Bloom has me very excited. That being said, nothing like that happens, and I’ve been left disappointed. Farah uses tracking magic and is perplexed by the “strange perfumes” being sold in a shop “claiming to smell like sugary cereal and one like a camel.” Does fairy Sephora not exist? You’re telling me there’s not a fairy perfume called like “Unicorn Blood?” It’s Fate’s own fault for not worldbuilding more in the first season and leaving us high and dry in between then and season 2, but in the OG cartoon the realm of Magix was like, New York City or the Capital from Hunger Games on steroids. It had high end clothing stores and restaurants and was where the rich and fashionable spent their days. I think the girls went several times, most notably to choose dresses for some dance or another. You’re telling me nothing like that exists? Or Farah’s just never been? Not buying it, personally.
The magical trail leads Farah to an antique shop, where she meets Bloom and Vanessa. Bloom comes across as a sort of Belle from the Beauty and the Beast remake, spending all her time at antique stores and junkyards and “all last weekend” fixing her new clock. We know Bloom likes antiques because of a throwaway comment in the show and because she held a lamp that one time, but this addition is actually super cool to me. It tells me Bloom is fascinated by how things work, and makes more sense her detailed notes on how her magic works. Bloom readily admits to being weird and a loner at school, I’ve always personally headcanoned that she’s bullied, and thought her conversation with Aisha about Harry Potter was very telling: clearly, being into something considered “mainstream” Bloom should’ve, in theory, had at least a few friends, but she was obviously so starved for attention when Aisha brought it up that I’m more likely to assume Bloom’s “weirdness” warned people off before she even had the chance to approach. So poor little Bloom took sorting hat quizzes by herself but had no one to share the results with. These fun Bloom-centric tidbits aside, we don’t see any sort of interaction between she and Farah. They don’t even speak. So what was the point?
And finally:
Silrah
Farah and Saul interact exactly one time in this entire story, and I’m not counting him throwing his jacket at her after the fountain incident. Still, it’s a wonderfully tender moment that’s not obviously Silrah but still implies a deep trust and bond between them. I am a die-hard Silrah shipper, but more than that it’s important to me as a proud asexual that their intimacy extends beyond the physical, that they are so deeply connected as people who love one another in any context that defining their relationship almost doesn’t matter. I still want them to kiss, but exploring their connection on a deeper, more vulnerable and emotional level appeals to me too. It’s immediately established by Farah that no one knows Saul like she does because she can tell from his face or the look in his eyes exactly what he’s thinking and feeling.
During Saul’s first pov, I greatly enjoyed the deep-dive into Saul’s thoughts about Farah regardless of his other characterization issues: he trusts her so implicitly that it’s become second nature. He doesn’t know what it means not to trust Farah, not to follow her or listen to her because that’s what he’s always done. He can’t imagine not doing that: “She was the fixed point of the world.” It’s described in terms that go back to his being a soldier, that it’s second nature to let Farah run the show because he’s not a general he’s a soldier thus he must have a leader, but it doesn’t imply that could be just anyone: he followed Rosalind until it became a choice between she and Farah, and Saul was never going to choose anyone but Farah.
The relationship between the Golden Trio of Fate is odd with regards to Ben, because interactions between he and Saul and he and Farah feel almost like an after thought, like the proper care and attention wasn’t paid to his character like it was with Saul and Farah, or almost like it’s a support for the close relationship Silrah have, that they’re not close to Ben, which feels like a disservice. Saul mentions that Ben “buried the soldier he used to be deep, and now pretended he was gone” and Saul can’t relate to that: I agree, I think Ben found it easier to let go of that part of himself because of his kids but also because he doesn’t have the role of training soldiers the way Saul does. Saul is, essentially, doing exactly what he’s been doing almost his whole life. Their paths are very different. But they’re friends, or they’re meant to be, though this book isn’t the best at showing it, and I don’t like how he can waltz into Ben’s greenhouse and proclaim “what’s up, nerd” and just as easily snap at Ben that Sky’s “not his son” and follow it up with an angsty internal monologue about how he and Ben don’t understand each other. Are they friends or aren’t they? There’s bad at expressing oneself, and then there’s just bad communication, and it’s difficult to be friends with someone who doesn’t communicate, in my experience. But this disappointing interaction with Ben does work as a stepping stone to Silrah, as Saul reflects that he can always trust Farah to know how he feels even if he can’t say it, because she’s a mind fairy. Though that is implying she regularly delves into his mind, which I disagree with, and Farah later confirms is not true, but this bit is from Saul’s pov, and if he were a mind fairy he’d likely look at others’ thoughts to see if they were a threat, so realistically assumes the same of Farah.
Farah’s thoughts on Saul are fleeting in comparison to his thoughts on her, but she does acknowledge their bond and all they’ve been through, and that she can always trust and rely on him, but chooses not to tell him about going to the First World so as not to ‘burden’ him. They discuss this, in the only scene where they properly interact, and Saul rightly tells her she’s being ridiculous because he’ll always be there for her: even when she questions if he’d make the same choices at Aster Dell over again, knowing what happens, he refuses to entertain the idea of not picking her, or staying by her side. It’s honestly the most Saul has been ‘himself’ in the entire book, because he’s the most emotionally open. He calls Farah “the beating heart of this school” and that when she’s gone that heart “skips a beat;” Farah challenges him, telling him not to act as though he “can’t live without [her]” and Saul replies definitively “I can’t live without you.” It’s as close to a declaration of love as we’ve canonically gotten so far and I love it. Their banter is cute, friendly, exactly as I’d expect considering the years they’ve been together and all they’ve gone through. They both get flustered at the almost-admitting of feelings, which also feels very in character, and both have separately admitted that when it comes down to it, they’d take the blame and shoulder the guilt if it meant the other didn’t have to.
Overall, the book was enjoyable and I have no regrets buying it or reading it. There’s some lovely characterization additions, some headcanons confirmed, and relationships explored. The plot felt only mildly lacking and a bit jumbled with the shifting of povs, and I think could have benefited from a bit of tightening up and clarity of direction, ie focusing on Farah in the First World as the main plot, then Orientation Day as the subplot. But that’s also because I’d rather have had an entire book about Farah (and Saul) and I crave any Farah content I can get.
I’m sorry this is so ridiculously long. The good news is, by the time I cut it all down, it was only 9 pages instead of 10.

“Dad seriously, I’m just gone for a few hours.” – spoke you, the phone pressed against your ear. Hearing his response made you sigh loud. – “I already told you I can handle myself.” – forced you out. A reminder you had told him hundreds of times – “No, I will not go hunt some burned one’s.” – sighed you out, getting slightly annoyed by the nagging in your ear. Klaus Mikaelson was even a pain in the ass from a distance. Spotting Alfea in the distance, hummed you loud at something he said. – “Yeah, dad uhm… I gotta hang. See you later.”
Your attention focused on the growing peaks of Alfea as you approached, hung you up. It never stopped amazing you, how magical it all was. It was different from any school you went to of course. This school had a whimsical theme to it. Alfea welcomed you, even though you were an outsider. No fairy or specialist. Something quite else. Walking up the gravely path to the school, were the grounds almost deserted. A few hasty specialists spurting towards the training grounds. You decided to follow them since what you were looking for was there as well.
A few more specialists joined, running as fast as they could. Out of breath. You kept a steady pace, following them from a distance. It didn’t take you long to get there. Your heart fluttered at the sight of him. The group of specialists that were running before you, came to a stop near him. They all lowered their heads, bowing to him while their lips moved. Silva responded but his words didn’t reach your ears. With one glare, dismissed he them, pointing firmly to a spot. They must’ve been late, thought you. Silva turned around, focusing his attention on two specialists practicing. He came leaning on the platform they both stood. – “Harder!” – shouted he out.
He observed them closely. – “Watch your feet, Dylan!” – pointed he out. When Dylan fell to the ground, shook he his head dismissive. – “Again!” – roared he out, tapping his hand against the platform. – “Will you go hard on me like that as well?” – commented you, seeing him turn curiously around. – “Y/n?” – called he out, slightly surprised. He took you by the elbow, looking over his shoulder. He made some eye contact with his pupils, letting them know he would return shortly.
Silva then started to pull you a bit away from them. – “What are you doing here…” – asked he, lowering his voice. – “Love.” – added he with a giddy smile. You eyed him up and down. – “If you don’t want me around, just say so.” – said you, twisting your elbow so his grip was off you. You already started to walk away, crossing your arms. With a deep groan and a roll of your eyes. – “Hey! Hey Y/n!” – called Saul out, coming after you. With one swift pull on your elbow, spun you around to him. – “I didn’t say that.” – answered he, brushing his knuckle against your cheek. – “Why the secrecy then? I haven’t even gotten a kiss yet. I’m standing here dry Saul.” – bit you back, pushing his hand away.
Silva exhaled deep through his nose, licking his lips. – “Your right, Y/n.” – you hummed loud, agreeing that he was wrong. Silva’s eyes wandered around, seeing if anyone was watching. Rolling with your eyes, had you enough. Stepping back from him were you ready to go back home. – “Y/n!” – Silva squeezed your upper arm, spinning you back to him. In a second laid his hand in your neck, bringing your head closer to his.
He kissed you tenderly, taking his time for it. – “Better?” – questioned he. You kissed him again, giving him his answer. – “Much.” – Silva breathed in deep, taking a step back. – “Why don’t you take a seat. I’ll be right with you.” – You noticed some specialists looking, but for once didn’t Silva cared for them. He brought your hand to his lips, kissing your knuckles. Waving him flirtatious with a wink, left you, his side. – “Silva!” – He turned around with a deep hum, rubbing the side of his finger against his lips. Sky came running over. – “That Y/n?” – asked he before telling him his concern. The two of them started to walk.
“Got anything to say about that?” – responded he, walking with no care in the world. Sky shook his head. – “No sir…” – Silva slowly nodded, waiting for the clear words that were going to come out of his mouth. Sky inhaled sharply, turning more to him. – “She… she is a werewolf, right?” – wanted he to be sure. There it was thought Silva, the slight comment. – “Yes.” – answered he. – “A gene from her father. Klaus Mikaelson.” – Silva chuckled for a second, remembering your dad. – “Not that you know him of course.” – mumbled he to himself. – “Anything else to say?” – Silva quirked his eyebrow up, wanting to know what Sky truly thought of you.
“No sir…” – sputtered sky out. For a brief second it was silent before Sky got curious again. – “How… how exactly does that work?” – wanted he to know to Silva’s annoyance. He batted his eyes to the heavens, questioning this ridiculous interrogation. – “Do you wish to ask me something of concern, Sky.” – before Sky could react, lifted Silva his finger up to him. – “Not regarding Y/n.” – cleared he up. Sky nodded hastily, almost forgotten about it. – “Dowling is looking for you. Something important.” – Silva came to a stop, slapping Sky against his back. – “It always is.” – He then returned from where he came.
Sky spun around, watching Silva return to you. Saul opened his arms to you with his lips pressed together in a faint smile. – “What is it?” – asked you, getting up to greet him. – “Nothing.” – called he out, resting both his hands on your arms. He kissed your cheek once. – “Don’t play with me Saul!” – spitted you out, your eyes flashing yellow. Silva kissed you to sooth you. You hated when he did that. Kissing you when you were clearly agitated about something. Your eye color changed to normal, fluttering with your eyelashes. Silva took your hand, moving it over his arm.
“Does Farah need you?” – asked you, knowing what just was up. He always acted like this when he was needed elsewhere. He patted your hand around his arm. – “Farah can wait.” – you smiled, leaning your head against his shoulder. – “Of course she can.” – just as you had spoken out your final words, rang your phone. Sighing loud at the one calling you. With a plastered smile, picked you up. – “Dad! Miss me already… I certainly didn’t call you like half an hour ago.” – said you, walking with Saul. – “What?” – called you out, coming to a sudden stop. Saul mouthed to you if everything was okay. Gaping at him, listened you with the phone to your ear. – “Fine!” – forced you out. – “I’ll be there in a moment.” – You hung up disappointed. – “Family business?” – asked Saul. – “Isn’t it always.”
“You should go then.”
“Is it cruel that I secretly don’t want to?”
“Not at all, my love.”
He kissed your forehead with a gentle kiss. His hands slide down your shoulders. – “Next time I’ll come to you.” – suggested he. – “I would like that.” – replied you, taking his hand in yours. Saul kissed you again, not getting enough from you. – “Go…” – called you out, giving him a slight push against his chest. – “Farah awaits.” – with your head motioned you to the school building. Saul exhaled deep, popping his hands on your shoulders. – “And the all mighty Klaus Mikaelson is waiting for his daughter.” – chuckled he out.  Both of you kissed again, before taking each separate roads. Silva saluted you on his way to the school building. You blew him a kiss, going in the other direction.

Pairing: Farah Dowling/Saul Silva
Rating: M
Warnings: None
Additional Tags: Pre-Canon, Jealousy, Idiots in Love, Denial of Feelings, Feelings Realization, Love Confessions, Friends to Lovers, Andreas is a good friend, In his own unique way
Chapters: 1/1
Summary: Andreas is convinced that Saul is in love with Farah, but he's got it all wrong. They are just friends and Saul isn't jealous. He's just worried that some jerk might take advantage of Farah. And even if he had feelings for her, it's obvious that Farah doesn't care for him in that way. If she did, she wouldn't be with someone else. So that's that - or so Saul thinks.
Author’s Note: This is my @winxsource Holiday Exchange gift for the lovely @faytalepsy who asked for a Silrah "love confession fic" and "protective/jealous Saul". The prompts sparked a few ideas, but non of them felt right until I settled on this one. That said, there are now another 3 WIPs sitting on my hard-drive waiting to be finished eventually. Thanks for that, Fay. 🤣 Anyway, Happy Holidays. I hope you enjoy this fic.
Shout-out to @simplytheevebest for beta reading this story.

Whatever happens within this hall remains between her and her soldiers, a secret promise that binds them alone no matter the form it takes. Except, that is, in times like these. A specialist swears his oath to the Solarian crown while his fairy stands as witness. (Except nothing is ever quite that simple.)
A fill written for the Winxsource Kinkmeme Wholesale event, because I swore I'd get something new done before the deadline. Pardon me while I shove half a dozen unfinished ideas under the rug for later.
