It started with the Russians.

Whatever was in those needles the doctor had injected them with did more than just making them giggly and high. They didn't realize it until after they had puked it up and bonded on a bathroom floor and defeated a meat monster, but it definitely wasn't just a truth serum. (Sometimes, they wonder if they only got so close because of it. They had worked together the whole summer, but only once the drug was in their systems did they actually open up to each other. Was it genuine? Or just an instinct borne out of chemical need?

They decided to stop wondering.)

The first time it happened was a week after Starcourt, when they were still recovering from the non-drug related after effects of the incident. They had been joined at the hip up until then, but finally had to separate when Steve had to go home and face his parents. It was when his dad insinuated that getting a concussion was his own fault that they snapped. Robin had been somewhat aware of the conversation happening a mile away, fuzzy and far away like a dream, but when he said that, she couldn’t help but retort that they were helping rescue kids, so sorry for being a good person, Dad.

It was only when they saw his face that it registered that her words came out of Steve’s mouth.

After that, it happened all the time. Robin’s car broke down and Steve took over to fix it. Steve forgot a word mid-conversation and Robin filled it in for him. Steve almost fumbled their job interview at Family Video until Robin spoke through him to list some, uh, better favorite movies.

It just became their new normal. No one else knew, because they didn’t know how to explain it, not even to those that were already in on the Upside Down. By the time spring break of ‘86 rolled around, it had been long enough without letting the psychic cat out of the bag. They were almost grateful that Vecna did it for them.

hiiii friends i have returned!!!! thank you so much to everyone who has tagged me in ANYTHING over the past couple months, i was very burnt out after finishing make me misbehave and i basically only worked on my novel for a while.

There was a firefighter in the road.  The bar had been busy tonight – they’re close to a college town, and Thursday is the new Friday, or so Buck’s heard. Fending off advances from college kids isn’t the hardest job in the world, but it is pretty exhausting, so Buck is barely keeping his eyes open when he turns onto his street, but suddenly there he is: a firefighter, in full gear. In the middle of the road.  Staring at Buck as if he knows him.

gooood im not gonna write it but on my drive home today i galaxy-brained a sense8 solangelo au but specifically one very vivid scene of will (part of the 8) having a very very very bad few days getting restrained in a hospital + prepped for a forced lobotomy a la naomi season 1 and panicking and none of the 8 (leo/piper/jason/nico/reyna/connor/katie) being able to help and ahhhh its looking bad and seconds before will goes under for the surgery suddenly - all the doctors start panicking? there are alarms going off? they have to clear the floor. uh. yeah. someone set the waiting room on fire ?????? uh ?? and suddenly mitchell (not in the 8 but will's dearest best friend and my favorite barbie) is there in a nurse uniform with a wheelchair like :) lets get you out of here okay mr. solace :) lets get you out of here right now :) and they make a very narrow but miraculous escape and the entire time connor is just stumbling along like. oh my god. oh my god? oh my god. and it goes exactly how you think and will has to be there for it ALL
