"Katsuuu…" Your voice like a song, calls for your beloved, "Come here, I wanna show you somethin'."
Your bedroom glows a low amber. In the air lingers a sweet scent; it's Serizawa's favorite perfume of yours. You sit in the center of your king sized bed, on your knees and at the ready. The stage is set for the first gift unwrapping of the night.
“Coming!” His tone is light but his footsteps are heavy, a Serizawa trademark. Every step closer and your heart rattles a little louder, a little stronger. He’s finally at the doorway but those seconds he took getting there felt so much longer. You can’t help it; you’ve been waiting for this day, to give Serizawa this present, for weeks.
The stark difference between his expression coming into the room and when his eyes finally land on you is so rich, it’s delectable. There you sit, folded legs parted to gift Serizawa the full display of you in your satin lingerie. The flush that washes over his face competes with the cherry red on your ensemble and it’s so cute you can’t help but giggle. “You like?” You ask, so sweet with a sprinkle of mischief as the tips of your fingers play with the large bow tied over your breasts. You watch Serizawa’s gaze trickle from the fullness of your breasts down the singular strap that goes down your abdomen and around your pussy; that is the only thing keeping Serizawa from your full essence.
He’s at a loss for words, you can tell by the way his jaw clenches as the breath he’d intended on taking finds itself caught in his throat. God, you’ve caught him so off guard his brain is struggling to catch up. What isn’t stunted, however, is the blood flow to his cock. You see the ridge, prominent and thick, start to swell in the crosspoint of his pants and that’s through the fabric of his underwear, the density of his sweats. So yummy and ripe for the taking.
“C’mere Katsu.” You coax him over and watch his whole body shudder on an exhale. He obeys you so dutifully, walking over to the bed and following your instruction when you ask him to lie down. His vision wobbles; there’s too much of you to take in, he doesn’t know where to start. His ears drum with the beating of his heart, so fast and excited.
But that’s why you’re there to guide him, to take his hands in yours and gently fold them over your chest. You sigh so blissfully at the size of his hands, the warmth of his palms. “So?” You coo as he starts his own ministrations on your chest, the fat of his thumb pads smoothing circles on the plump skin, “Do you like it?”
He nods, oh how he nods so fast. He never wants you to spend a second doubting his affection for you, his appreciation for you. “Y-Yes.” His voice, stuttering and gentle, is enough to satisfy you. Your cheekbones glow with light and love, the smile on your face infectious as you look into the eyes of your lover. “I love it. Thank you.” He breathes, hands firmly sliding down your waist, the greediness starting to set in as he realizes just how much he wants– no, needs you.
His arms envelop you entirely with no problem, bringing you close until his face is nestled between your breasts. The exhales from his nostrils are hot and fan over your skin, triggering goosebumps galore; the sensation is intensified further when his fingers loop around the outfit’s wide straps, dragging them down until your chest is free for the taking. Hungry and desperate, Serizawa’s mouth latches onto one of your nipples, the other attended to by his fingers, which rub and gingerly pinch the skin until the nub perks up. You groan, fingers digging through his brown locks and curling, just like your toes, when Serizawa’s teeth graze your skin.
“You’re so good, Katsu.” You praise him and it goes right to his cock, throbbing and heavy against your cunt. You can’t help it, your hips start moving on their own, eagerly creating friction from the fat mushroom tip of his penis. “So good for me.” You murmur against his temples, trying to squeeze yourself against him until all you can feel is him and his loving touch. Everything about him is perfect; you feel honored just to have his love all for yourself.
Moans freely find themselves puffing against your breast, Serizawa seemingly losing himself to your supple skin, to your sweet taste. You whimper and cry, completely at his mercy as his tongue draws circles around your nipple, flatly landing on the pebbled bump and licking like it’s his last meal. He doesn’t even give you a break, popping his lips free with a pant and diving into the other one until both are glimmering with his spit and red with his sucking. He’s gone so long without human touch, let alone something this intimate, and he’s always dead set on giving you all of him and his devotion for you.
His lips shiny with drool, you capture his mouth in a heated kiss until you’re licking into his mouth with the same loving force as he; you could get drunk off his pecks, kiss him forever if he’d let you. And you know he would.
His hand at the small of your back presses you, as if to tell you to keep grinding against the monstrous swell between his legs. He can feel your thighs quiver on his lap and knowing just how sensitive your clit is, he lifts his hips into yours to swallow more of those pretty little sighs of yours.
Oh, it all feels so good but it can feel better. A bridge of spit connects your lips, even after you part, and all you can manage to say, on a lewd and heavy breath, is, “Now how about you get to unwrapping the rest?”

Business As Usual (reigen x reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it's finally done, y'all! this fic has gone through so many different versions before ending up as what it is now, which is basically a collection of snippets that i connected together with some plot. i really wanted to explore aspec reigen but wanted to keep him in character AND still have a gender neutral reader which is VERY hard to do when you need to describe... where hands are going, but i think i finally did it!
also on ao3 here!
Your head rests against your palm as you stare blankly in Reigen's general direction, letting the sound of his voice from the doorway float over to you as a fond smile takes over your face. One of his legs is popped forward, his knee bent so his foot can rest flat against the wall behind him, and he slips his hands into his pockets. Your gaze lingers on his thumb, tucked over the top of his pocket, and your face slips off your hand before you can come to your senses. You're already scrambling for a pen by the time he glances over at you and raises his eyebrows in a silent question of "everything okay over there?"
You give him a shaky smile and a thumbs up, weakly holding up the pen and pulling the abandoned stack of papers on your desk toward you. He beams at you and turns back to Serizawa, casually switching to stand on his other leg like he didn't just make your heart skip a beat. You resist the urge to look back at him for all of a couple seconds, the embarrassment of almost getting caught staring not as strong as how distracting he is. He's already using his hands again, one flying through the air as he draws a square in what you think is his attempt to explain the layout of a room. The other hand hangs by his side, his thumb crossed in front of his index finger.
You prop one elbow on the desk, holding up the same makeshift heart shape as you pretend to return to your ignored work.
+
You find yourself leaning against the front of Reigen’s desk often. With Mob on a school trip and Serizawa at his class for the night, there's no need for you to keep up the act of office secretary, so you've settled into a sort of half-sit, one leg propped up so you can turn to face him without putting your full weight on the surface.
As he listens to you talk, he twirls a pen between his fingers, flipping it back and forth before stopping to spin it around his thumb, only to catch it and do it again. His other hand traces the trim of his desk - over the scratch in the edge from the arm of his chair, down the scuff mark on the corner from the time you'd both dragged it against the door frame on the way in, back up the slice in the surface from a time when he'd still taken dangerous clients on his own and a "stray" pocket knife had gone flying from a "possessed" man's hand. You make a mental note to buy Mob and Serizawa each something for all their hard work.
You trail off, trying to retrace your conversation to find the original point of your story. In the quiet that follows, you can hear the sound of his fingers along the wood. He's being so gentle, just barely making contact, like he's handling a precious artifact. In its own way, you suppose, the desk is an important part of the office's history, in the same way that every plant, every poster of his face, every picture with a client was a part of the journey here, to this moment.
You wonder if he'd handle you the same way.
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah, just... lost my train of thought there." You blink and give your most convincing spacey chuckle, mentally yelling at yourself to get a fucking grip already. "How did we end up talking about this again?" You're sure that he'll see through you in a second. Instead, he shrugs and stretches his arms above his head.
"Hell if I know." He drops his arms and rolls his shoulders. "Think it's safe to shut down for the night, though, so..." He stands with a flourish and jerks his thumb in the direction of the door. "Wanna get food?"
+
Despite your best efforts, you find yourselves at the same quiet bar as always, both of you too indecisive and habitual to pick somewhere else to eat. Both of you nod when the bartender asks if it'll be the usual, then shake your heads when she asks about drinks. She rolls her eyes at you, but it's good-natured, and she disappears around the corner to start your order.
There's something about the environment that sweeps you up in it - the dim lighting and the scratchy record player in the corner - and you think Reigen might have actually forgotten he hasn't had any alcohol. "Loose" is the only word you can think of to describe him in this moment, his face softer, his pinky over yours on the counter, his posture and his filter more relaxed. He doesn't even jolt when the bartender calls the two of you lovebirds, something that always made him scramble to defend himself before you officially started dating. Now, although his hand still gets a little clammy, he just looks over at you and smiles, and he presses a kiss to your temple.
She asks how things are going at the office (boring but peaceful), if you've told the others yet (Serizawa figured it out on his own, just like she did, and you're not sure how to bring it up to Mob yet, but you have a feeling he knows), if you have any fun plans. She raises her eyebrows on the last question, leaning forward to give you a meaningful stare, her face breaking out into a smirk.
You and Reigen freeze up at the same time, looking in opposite directions.
"I mean we're-"
"Yeah, it's, y'know, we-"
"Not that it's any of your-"
"Just what are you implying anyway, I mean-"
She waves her hands to cut you both off, laughing loudly at your awkwardness.
"Just teasing you guys, sheesh. But, seriously, nothing fun this weekend?"
"Ah, no, just business as usual."
She goes on a rant about how you two should really relax, take a vacation, you spend so much time in that damn office of yours, how do you two even-
You settle in, thankful for the change of subject, and chuckle quietly, not sure how to explain that, at this point, the office feels more like home than your apartment does. When she turns around to grab something, you press a quick kiss to Reigen's cheek, reveling in the way he always looks surprised no matter how many times you've done it before. He unlinks your pinkies and puts his whole hand over yours, giving a light squeeze. You bump your head against his shoulder just as she turns back around, and she makes a theatrical gagging sound.
Reigen had told you before that he was thankful to have a new regular bar, but it's moments like these that you really see it- dropping his pretenses bit by bit with every night you come in, asking her questions and talking to her not as a composed business man, or even as somebody that you've dragged along with you, but simply as himself.
You think this is your favorite way to see him.
He gets up eventually to use the restroom before you leave, and the bartender jumps at the chance to tease you some more. It's always a little embarrassing, despite how many times she's done it, but it's also strangely comforting in its familiarity.
"You know you look at him like a lovesick puppy, right?"
"So? We're dating, how am I supposed to look at him?"
She looks concerned. "No, it's not that, just... I think he's the only one that can't tell you wanna do him. Are you seriously gonna wait around forever?"
"I'll wait as long as I need." You know what she's getting at, and you admit that you haven't been the most straightforward with him, but you don't want to run the risk of making him uncomfortable. He's never officially told you outright, but you get the impression it just isn't something he's interested in, and you decided you were fine with that long before you asked him out. Your lingering stares and imagination would just have to be enough.
"And if he never-"
"Then I wait forever." You finish the last bit of your water in one go and set the glass down a bit too harshly, trying to distract her from your obviously flustered state. "In the meantime, I’ll keep enjoying what I have."
She considers you for a minute before glancing over your shoulder. Apparently she's satisfied with your answer, because she rolls her eyes again and takes the plates from the counter. You startle a bit when you feel Reigen's hand on your shoulder, and he presses a kiss to the top of your head as an apology before asking if you're ready to leave.
He slips his coat on and waits by the door as you hand the bartender your card.
"I'm not gonna stop teasing you about it," she whispers. "But I think you two are gonna be just fine." You're not sure what to say. You glance over at him as he readjusts his scarf, his tongue peeking out as he fights to get the sides even with each other. He stands up straighter to lean against the door frame when he notices you looking, clearing his throat loudly and giving you a wave. The bartender hands your card back.
"Yeah. Thanks."
You reach for Reigen's hand and link your fingers together as he swings the door open, turning around to give the bartender one last wave goodbye.
"Be safe! If you ever bang, that is!"
"Oi!" The door swinging shut behind you cuts off your noise of protest. You can see her laughing through the window, one hand covering her mouth as she waves you off.
"Actually, um..." He bumps his hip into yours. "I... I have something to ask you about."
+
"So, um." Reigen clears his throat. His hand is practically slipping out of yours from how sweaty it is, and that fact does nothing to calm your nerves about what he might say next. You tighten your grip. "Ekubo... brought something to my attention."
"O-oh? And what would that be?" Though you've never been able to see or hear the spirit for yourself, you've learned from Mob that he's incredibly blunt. Your worry increases.
"Well. He told me I was an 'oblivious asshole' and that even he knew I was 'wasting an opportunity', if that gives you any clues." Based on the context, you're pretty sure you know where this is going. This time, it's Reigen that tightens his grip.
"He was all," he makes his voice more nasally and tilts his head, "I definitely shouldn't have to be the one to tell you this but nobody else is going to do it and I'm sick of seeing them make googoo eyes at you all the time, so I'm just doing what needs to be done! Reigen! They totally wa-" He chokes a bit, trailing off into something you can't hear. "Well, I can't remember exactly what he said, but, um, he basically told me I should ask if there was something... more that you were hoping for. In our relationship." He slows his walking, staring down at his feet.
"I... don't know how to answer that, honestly." He seems surprised and a little relieved at your answer. It makes you all the more uncertain whether you should say anything. "I guess there is, but it's not- I mean it's definitely not a dealbreaker. I figured you weren't- I mean I'm not saying you- that you're not- it just seemed like something you didn't really... care about. Or... care for. That much."
He considers lying, but dismisses the idea quickly. The million excuses die on his tongue, the half-baked stories of his fake experience erased as his mind goes blank. He knows there's no need for him to lie, sees in how nervous you are that you mean it when you say it's not a dealbreaker, but he doesn't know what to say instead. He has no idea what will come out when he speaks, and that's a terrifying prospect.
"Well, I don't, I guess." You nod. "I care about you, though." He taps the back of his hand against your thigh, dragging your arm along with it. "You don't need to keep things from me. If that's- if I'm... something you- I mean, if you're- I'm-" He sighs harshly and stops walking to look up at the stars. "Honestly, I'm not the best at this sort of thing. I've never really thought that somebody would want me, so I hadn't considered it. But if you're really interested, if you... want..."
"I do."
He snaps his head down to look at you, like he's surprised to hear you say it even though he already knew it was true.
"The same goes for you, too, though. You don't need to keep things from me." You tap your elbow against his side. "And you don't need to give things just for my sake. Whatever Ekubo said, you're not 'wasting an opportunity.' I'll be here if you want me, and if you don't," you shrug, "I'll still be here anyway. No pressure. No offense taken."
He nods. You start walking again in silence, his eyebrows pulled together as he considers his options. He pulls his hand away from yours to wipe his palms on his thighs, and you barely conceal your laugh in time.
When you stop in front of your apartment building, he leans down to kiss you as usual. Your hands linger on his jaw, and you give him another quick peck before you fully pull away.
"You coming up?" He blinks at you, and the extra implication finally registers. "For tea! I mean."
He laughs and kisses you again, grabbing your wrist to pull you up the stairs.
+
You're turning to hang your coat - just barely holding onto to the end of one sleeve - when you hear the sound of your door clicking shut behind you and you find yourself pressed against it, Reigen's lips against yours. You drop your jacket on the floor in favor of steadying yourself, both hands on his shoulders as you lift yourself onto your toes. His fingers fidget with the hem of your shirt, and you pull back just in time to keep your breathing even.
"Where's all this coming from?"
He presses a kiss to your jaw. "I've decided," another kiss, just below your ear, "I want to give you what you want." His breath against your jaw is admittedly distracting, but something still feels off to you, and you're determined to figure out what it is before you let him get too far.
"Is that so?" He hums against your neck. "You really want to?" He hums again, pulling back so he can press his forehead against yours.
"Well, while I appreciate the effort..." You pull on his arm as you spin out into the room, and the door rattles when you push him back against it. "This is more like what I had in mind." All his preparation goes out the window, all the lines he's memorized "just in case" rendered useless, and he's left standing there gawking at you. You take a step back, suddenly unsure of yourself. "If... that's okay."
"Yes!" He clears his throat and waves a hand vaguely in the air. "Yes, that's... probably better. That way you can- exactly what you- y'know. I'm a little surprised, is all." He points in several directions as he talks, eventually settling on pressing his index finger lightly into your shoulder.
You breathe out a laugh and reach up to thread your fingers through his hair.
"Well, you know, you're just so darn handsome. Can't help but think about how you'll look in... other scenarios."
"Is that what you were thinking about while you were staring me down earlier? While I was talking to Serizawa?" He smirks like he expects you to laugh it off, to roll your eyes, to knock your head against his shoulder and exhale with that same half-laugh, half-scoff you give him when he tells a bad joke. You lean up to kiss him, instead, and his breath catches in his throat.
"Yeah, pretty much."
"Oh." He seems to realize he's still poking you in the shoulder, and he moves his hands so they both rest on your hips. You can feel them shaking. "Oh."
"Is that okay?"
He looks like he's genuinely considering it this time instead of just telling you what he thinks you want to hear. His shoulders relax, and he slides down the door. You chuckle at the way his jacket bunches up.
"Yeah. Yeah, it's okay. It's nice, honestly."
"Well, good thing there's way more where that came from, then."
"You're sure about this? Still okay?"
His fingers pull at your hair as his hand shakes, and his nails are pressing into your hip a little too tightly, and he's biting down on his lip so hard that you're sure he's gonna draw blood any second now, but he's nodding and looking at you like there's nothing else in the world. His hair is sticking up at the top and there's a faint red mark just below his collarbone, and he looks so perfect that you'd be the stupidest person in the world to stop now and give up the view.
But being an idiot is worth it if it means he's safe, so you stop again after you undo the last button of his shirt, looking back up at him when you slip your fingers under the collar. He nods again and kisses you, quick enough that you don't get a chance to deepen it but long enough to leave you chasing his lips when he pulls away. His fingers wrap around your wrists as he guides you to pull the sleeves down his arms, and the shirt falls to the bed with a quiet rustling of fabric, almost drowning out the way your heart is attempting to leap out of your chest.
"Hey. I know you said you, um- but..." He leans forward, shuffling so he's propped up on his knees. "Could we go back to this? It's a little easier."
"Of course. Whatever you need." His hair brushes against your forehead, and you can feel his breath across your nose as he pants. Moonlight streams in through your window, the corner of it lighting up the side of his face enough for you to see just how red his ears are. "I want you however I can have you, anyway, so it's not like it matters to me."
"Well, it's not gonna work if you keep saying things like that."
You laugh and flop backwards onto the bed, doing your best not to kick your pillows. "What, do you have a script up there or something? Am I going off book?" You tap a finger to the center of his forehead. He purses his lips and looks off to the side.
"Not... No. I don't need a script." He scoots closer to you, settling in between your legs as he puts one hand on either side of your head.
"Good answer." He shakes his head as he leans down to press his lips to your collarbone, but pulls back immediately when you let out a startled squeak.
"Sorry! Sorry, I don't know why that caught me so off guard." You laugh and wrap your arms around his waist. "Just nervous, I guess. You c- you can keep going, though. S'nice." You shift awkwardly when he doesn't move, glancing off to the side. "You... still okay? We can-"
"You're nervous?"
"Well, yeah. I mean... man of my dreams? Over me? About to do me? It's a little overwhelming, y'know? Good overwhelming, but still."
"Right. Yeah." He sits back onto his knees, and you follow by propping yourself up on one arm. "Wait, man of your dreams?" His voice cracks, but he doesn't bother clearing his throat.
"Y- uh. Y... Yes?" He opens his mouth, but you cut him off before he can say anything. "I mean, think what you will, but I have had dreams about you, so it's literal if nothing else."
He straightens at that, and you can practically see the light bulb go off above his head when he snaps his fingers. His smirk gets dangerously wide, and he leans back into your personal space, wrapping one arm under you to keep you from laying back down.
"Why don't you... tell me about those?"
+
"A mirror?!" He presses a kiss to your hip, muffling a laugh. "Certainly starting off strong."
"It was just the most recent one!" You squirm as he sneaks his thumbs into your waistband, looking up at you for confirmation. You lift your hips, and you hear him take a sharp breath before he yanks them down. "I can always pick a different one."
"No, no, I asked. Talk away." He presses a kiss to the inside of your thigh, lifting your leg on top of his shoulder. "What was the appeal, do you know? Or was your brain just looking for ideas?"
"Ah, both, I think. But I certainly know what the appeal was."
"Oh?" He licks a stripe up your thigh before sucking a section of your skin into his mouth, stopping just before he thinks it'll leave a mark to move to a new spot.
"Yeah, your h- mm. Uh, ha, w- um. Actually, that might be too embarrassing."
"What? Come on." He slides his hand up your other thigh, fidgeting with the waistband of your underwear as he steels himself to pull those off too.
"No, I'm- go ahead." He nods, but keeps fidgeting with the elastic for now. "I'm picking something else. You won't be able to look at me the same after."
"Is it really that bad?"
"It's not bad exactly, just- oh!" He pulls your underwear down a bit too fast, and they get caught on your foot, sending them slingshotting across the room. Your head falls back against the bed as you laugh from the sheer absurdity of it, and you grab the sheets to anchor yourself. "Anyway, it's just very specific. I don't want you to feel weirded out."
"I think I'm more weirded out by not knowing. You're scaring me a little." He takes your hand and guides it to the top of his head, not moving until you thread your fingers through his hair with a shaky sigh.
"Fine, fine, y- hmm." He sticks his fingers in his mouth to get them wet, mostly because it's something he'd read once that you were supposed to do, and you hear the loud pop when he pulls them out. "It's your hands."
He eases one finger inside you so slowly that it seems like he's waiting for something terrible to happen. All he gets is your satisfied shiver and a light tug on his hair to encourage him to move his head up.
"In a case like this, I can feel your hands but I can't see them. A mirror let me do both."
"What's so special about my hands?"
"You say as your fingers are literally inside me."
"Other than that, o-obviously." He closes his mouth around you, and your hips buck up before you can stop them.
"S-sorry."
"S'fine." He readjusts your hand in his hair so you can have a better hold. He hums lowly when you give a test pull, and you can feel the vibration of it in the very core of your body. "You were saying?"
"Oh, right, y- they're distracting. I mean, you just ha- oh, have nice hands in the first place, but- y- you use them so much that it's like... oh, Jesus." He slips another finger inside, crooking them up in a blind attempt to get a better reaction out of you. "I think about them a lot, I guess. And you're always fidgeting, so, w- they're super obvious. And it's a little more subtle than just... eye fucking you in general. Fuck!" You can feel his smirk when the shiver racks down your spine, and you press your nails against his scalp in a half-hearted protest. "Not subtle if you know about it, though."
He pulls his fingers out and slides his hand under your leg to drag you further down the bed so he can focus on using his mouth. You whine at the loss, but you can't really complain when it feels like ice is making its way through your veins, your skin tingling with electricity every time you feel his breath against you. What he lacks in skill - not that he lacks much in the first place, despite his concerns - he makes up for simply by being him, with you, in this moment you thought you would never get to have. Your free hand tightens around the sheets before coming up to lay across your eyes, and you gasp as you roll your hips up against him. He taps lightly against your ribs in a reminder to keep talking.
"A-and then there was the whole p - ha - part where y - oh - you were talking right in my ear but I could still see your face. Fuck, I bet you look so good right now. And, shit, f- I love your voice so much. S'really, the- the best of both- ah!"
Now that he's gotten the hang of it, he slips three fingers inside you again, trying to focus on how good you must be feeling based on your reactions instead of just how tight you feel around them. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't turned on by now, with the way you're gasping and trembling, quiet whines slipping out between words and your thighs shaking on his shoulders, but he's not ready to deal with the consequences of that just yet. He can't afford to think right now for fear that his nerves will start to creep in through the gaps, so he forces himself to focus on your voice, letting your words take over the space in his mind where his own thoughts should be.
He gives a particularly harsh suck right as his fingers bend to hit just the right spot, and you actually moan at that - not a whimper, not a hum or a sigh - and any resolve he had to keep listening to you is replaced with the desire to get you to make that noise again.
"Wow, I am not gonna last long if you- oh! Fuck, Rei- mm, Ara- fuck, fuck, fuck! Arataka, god, so perfect, you're so- ohh, shit, I-" He doesn't let up until it's almost impossible to move his hand, revels in the way you clench around his fingers, in your broken cry only slightly muffled behind your hand, even in the way your ankle digs into his back as you pull at his hair and press your hips up into his face.
When he sits up, your leg falls onto the bed with a thump, causing you to descend into a fit of giggles as he licks his lips and swallows, thumb swiping across his bottom lip.
"What, was it-" You shake your head and make grabby hands, rolling one wrist in an invitation for him to lay down beside you.
"I'm just really happy. You did great." He leans over you, seemingly debating if he's allowed to kiss you. You close the distance for him, cupping both sides of his face, and he shudders when you run your fingers through his hair in an attempt to fix it. "Want me to help-"
"Nope! No, no need, thanks." You raise an eyebrow, but you're too tired to put up a real fight.
"Alright, just come here, then."
"We're backwards. Your foot is on your pillow."
"It happens." You shrug. He looks like he's debating picking you up and flipping you around himself, but he eventually lays down beside you, albeit not before grabbing a spare blanket to drape over you.
"Maybe next time?"
"Next time?" You roll onto your side and drape one arm over him as he settles in, pressing your face into his chest.
"Yeah. Next time you can... maybe, I mean. It's still- but, I think I do want..."
"Yeah?" You smile and lay a hand flat on his lower back to pull him closer, the other hand tracing light heart shapes just under his collarbone.
"Yeah, unless you-"
"Maybe next time sounds perfect."

had a breakthrough cranked out give or take a thousand words. Very excited.
Anyways here's a little look-see of my discord notes for future Glow Worms stuff
Tumblr media
Serizawa and Reigen are going to go through it very soon. Just the very tip of the horrors, lads.
Aw shucks have another one:
Tumblr media
Okay! fine one more, have a rough yet to be cleaned excerpt:
“I think someone is trying to talk to you Reigen,” said Serizawa pressing his palm to his forehead.
Reigen’s brows shot up, but his expression stayed calm and stoic. “Oh?” He placed his hands in his pockets, “what are they saying?”
Serizawa winced a little, “you can’t hear it?”
A sad helpless look came over Reigen, “I wish I could, big guy.”
“It’s…soft, but…but like a - as if someone is needling my inner ear.” And then Serizawa stumbled, wincing as if that very needle increased or was being punched into his inner ear with a mallet.
Reigen caught him in an instant, knees buckling a little under the weight - until he adjusted his stance.
“You don’t?” Repeated Serizawa, sweat prickling his hairline.
“I can’t see or hear anything Serizawa,” said Reigen in a pained voice - wishing it was him taking up this pain. Gradually Reigen lowered Serizawa to the ground, resting his head on his lap. “I’m calling Mob,” he said with shaking fumbling hands, “gonna get him to send Dimple up here and-”
Serizawa steadied Reigen's hand, with the smallest squeeze he could manage. “Don’t. Not yet. I just,” a labored breath, “need to get my bearings. There’s…there’s so many Reigen.” Tears started to collect in his eye ducts, “so many…”
“I hate seeing you like this,” said Reigen, voice a pleading near whine that he loathed. “It’s okay to stop. Don’t push yourself.” Reigen lowered his forehead down desperate to press it to Serizawa’s, but instead said, “it’s okay to run away.”
Reigen felt a hand grasp his suit shoulder, maybe Serizawa wanted to cup his face - he’ll never know, but what was important was Serizawa saying, “I know. But I’m not ready to run yet. It’s like you said, a marathon - not a sprint.”
“I’m starting to hate that I said that.”
“No take backs.” Serizawa had the gall to laugh then. It looked painful.
Reigen scrunched his face up, angry and torn. “Fine. But you’re taking something for that headache, okay? It’s on full migraine territory now.”
“But-”
“I’m serious," then Reigen said, very gently, the boss voice falling away to a raw plea, “please. If it can help alleviate this for you, even a little, please.”
“…alright.”
--
Again, keep in mind that this is from the unedited super rough draft, no promises it'll be 1.1 when this crops up in the fic! ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_ Happy Scary Season?

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 10
Katsuya was still sitting on the bed and watching the comings and goings of people across the street. The slight breeze coming through the window seemed to wash away all his bad thoughts.
Kageyama-san sat down next to him and pulled a small wooden box from his shoulder bag. He had been visiting Katsuya every Tuesday for the whole month.
The conversation they had had on the first day seemed forgotten. Kageyama-san had never again insisted that Katsuya leave his room. Maybe he knew he didn't need to.
"They were Taka's idea." Kageyama held out the box showing him what was inside. "We sell them as charms."
Katsuya stared at it and took out one of the yellow rectangles. In the center the kanji for luck glowed in red ink. For an instant, he expected to feel some kind of power but it was just paper.
"He writes them by hand himself."
Kageyama-san took the rectangle from his hands, holding it between his index and middle finger. The charm glowed for a second, enveloped by the psychic's aura until the paper absorbed it.
"Want to try?" Katsuya picked up another piece of paper and traced the lines the brush had drawn. Reigen had written each of those kanji.
"What exactly do I need to do?"
"You just need to think of something you want to protect."
Katsuya closed his eyes. The paper felt rough between his fingers. Reigen was the first thing that came to his mind. Reigen's smile under the umbrella the first time they had met or the warmth of his hand on Katsuya's knee in that alley. The late night conversations and the laughter in his ear every time Katsuya said something silly.
Katsuya opened his eyes, the whole room was vibrating wrapped in a violet light. He could hardly breathe.
"I didn't count on you getting it the first time, how does it feel?"
"Like I'm being hugged." Katsuya stared at his hands in amazement. "It's warm."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
His mother had long since gone to sleep when Katsuya crawled into bed. Curled up under the covers, he read the last message in his conversation with Reigen. "At least tell me you're okay." Those had been Reigen's last words almost five months ago.
Katsuya unblocked the number, his fingers tentative to break the silence between them. There was no way Reigen would want to talk to him after disappearing without explanation but the conversations with Kageyama-san gave him hope. Katsuya was just a coward.
The cell phone vibrated in his hands. Katsuya almost hit one of the shelves in his haste to get up.
Reigen:
Are you ever going to talk to me again?
Reigen had texted him knowing the message was going nowhere. Katsuya burst into tears. It was impossible that it was a coincidence.
Katsuya:
I'm sorry
The cell phone started ringing almost immediately, Reigen's name on the screen. Katsuya dropped the phone in fright and ran to pick it up again. His fingers trembled as he picked it up.
"You are sorry! You are sorry!" Reigen shouted rendering him nearly deaf. "That's all you have to say? I didn't know if you were okay! Or if anything had happened! And all you can think to say is sorry?"
"I missed you." Tears kept slipping down his cheeks.
"Don't ever do this to me again." Reigen whispered as if all his anger had evaporated. "If I'm just a nuisance, tell me and I'll leave you alone but don't disappear again without saying anything."
Katsuya was silent. Only Reigen's breathing could be heard on the other end of the phone. Kageyama-san's words looped in his mind. By locking himself up, all he had succeeded in doing was hurting the person he wanted to protect the most.
"Has Kageyama-san told you anything?" Katsuya bit his lip.
"Have you been seeing Kageyama-san?" Reigen sounded hurt. "You could have told me."
"So he hasn't told you anything?"
"What should he have told me? Serizawa, are you okay?"
"I am now" Katsuya rubbed his eyes.
The smile on his face was so huge that it could have almost split his face.

Halloween
I got caught in the fake cobwebs going from room to room. "Gah, isn't this a bit of overkill, Reigen? You know only Ritsu and Mob are coming."
Reigen wrapped her arms around my waist, making me jump, and kissing my neck gently. "You know you love it as much as I do. Plus, we need to have a great Halloween. It's Serizawa's first one, and our first as an awesome household."
"Don't do it for me!" Serizawa called out from the other room, "I don't really care for Halloween! I much rather just play Phasmophobia in our rooms… Plus, I can barely get around the house as it is, having all these roof decorations just makes it harder."
"Ah, we get it, you're tall," Reigen removed her arms from my waist, taking my hand and pulling me into the other room where Serizawa was sitting. "You nerds play Phasmophobia every other night. Give it a rest!"
"You play it too." I nudged her and Serizawa laughed.
"Only because he forces me too!" Reigen pointed accusingly at Serizawa.
"I do not! You never have to! You just drag us down, anyway..."
Reigen's face went bright red, before she waved her hand dismissively. "Anyway, what are you doing sitting around for? You and Ren are supposed to be baking Halloween treats!"
"Again, isn't that overkill? We're only having two other people over," I said.
Serizawa got up. "It's alright, baking's fun!"
"Yeah, and if Reigen's gonna be lazy, she just won't be able to lick the bowl."
"I don't have time for your mischievous shenanigans!" Reigen threw her hands up in the air, "there is still much to do!"
Serizawa and I made our way into the kitchen, as Maya, our wonderful black and tan shiba, barked at the door.
"Maya!" Reigen came running into the kitchen, as Maya ran through the dog door, straight up to Reigen. Serizawa took a step back. "Who's a good girl?" She ruffled up Maya's fur, patting thoroughly between her ears as she wagged her little tail.
"Is this not shenanigans?" I laughed as Reigen sat down on the kitchen floor, welcoming Maya onto her lap.
"Of course not. She's my babygirl."
Serizawa pouted, trying not to laugh, and sighed dramatically. "I remember when I was your babygirl."
I gave him a hug, fake glaring at Reigen's undivided attention on Maya, whose head was resting on her knee, eyes slowly closing already. Reigen looked up, and grabbed Serizawa's hand, pulling him down onto the ground and into a hug. "Don't worry, Katsu, you're still my babygirl," she said, ruffling his hair and giving him a kiss on the top of his head, causing him to blush.
I rolled my eyes. "You guys are such dorks," I said, turning away to get out the cupcake trays, when I felt someone grab my hand and pull me into the cuddle pile. I let out a cry of surprise, as I crashed into them all, landing in Reigen's lap as she wrapped me up in her arms.
"Now this is shenanigans," Reigen said, squeezing us together and patting a very confused dog. "Now back to work!" Reigen pushed me off her lap as gently as possible and I begrudgingly stood back up, offering Serizawa a hand. Reigen got up, wandering into the other room. Maya followed her briefly, before walking and lying down in the middle of the hallway, ignoring Reigen's calls.
"Right, let's get to baking!" I exclaimed, excitedly rubbing my hands together. "First things first, we have to put on the appropriate protective equipment!" I grabbed two aprons from the cupboard, handing one to Serizawa, which he put over his head. I walked behind him to tie up the back into a bow, giving him a slap on the butt after I had finished tying it up.
"Hey!" he turned around to face me.
"Sorry, it's part of the process, I don't make the rules."
He sighed dramatically, grabbing the other apron, and putting it on me, tying it up, before giving me a kiss on the back of my neck. I jumped and whipped around to face him, blushing. "That's not part of the procedure!"
Serizawa smiled, sheepishly. "I guess, I break the rules."
I blushed even deeper. "Serizawa, what the hell, that's really hot. Didn't know I was dating a bad boy."
Serizawa laughed, and gave me a quick but tender kiss on the lips. I jumped up and wrapped my legs around his hips. He stumbled at the sudden action, but held me up. "Uh, hi," he smiled sheepishly.
"What? Now I know my boyfriend is such a rebel, it's a contractual obligation that we make out now."
Serizawa blushed, leaning in slowly, making gentle contact with my lips. I held one hand in his hair, pulling him closer, and one on his back, as he held me close to him both his hands firmly on my back.
He leant back slightly, and smiled.
"Don't stop!" I whispered, "it was getting really good!"
He just kept smiling, before leaning in close to my ear. I could feel his warm gentle breath, as he said, "Sorry, I was just admiring the view."
My legs tightened around his hips as I laughed nervously despite myself. He leant back again, raising one eyebrow in confusion. "Sorry, I'm still not used to you being so flirtatious and forward." He smiled, before kissing me again, more passionate this time.
"Knock it off!" Reigen shouted from down the hall, "If you two can't keep your hands off each other, I'll just make Serizawa do the decorations and I'll bake."
"Please, God, no, don't make me do that," he replied.
"Then get back to work! You're making me jealous."
I laughed, but we returned to the task at hand. We decided we would make spider decorated cupcakes and some ghost shaped pizzas, making a huge mess of the kitchen as we went, of course, and still getting distracted doing a little bit of making out, much to Reigen's dismay. After a while, the cupcakes were ready, and the pizza was prepped.
We went into the living room to check on Reigen. "How are things going?" I asked, as Serizawa came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me.
Reigen rolled his eyes at the sign of affection, before replying. "It's going great, thanks for asking. Much more productive than you two."
"I don't know, you should see the cupcakes! They turned out super cool!" Serizawa said, excitedly.
"Yeah, you're just jealous but you don't have to be. Come here, babygirl." Serizawa and I walked over to Reigen, who stood, frozen, looking rapidly between the both of us as we approached, and squeezed her in tight, covering her with kisses. Kisses all over her cheeks, forehead, neck, everywhere, before stepping back and holding her hands. "Better?"
Reigen nodded slowly as red crept up her cheeks.
"Do you need help with anything?"
Reigen shook her head slowly.
"Okay, well, time to get Serizawa ready! This guy isn't gonna transform into a werewolf by himself!"
"Ren, are you sure you're not too busy with your costume? I'm sure I could figure it out…" Serizawa mumbled, ringing his hands together.
"First of all, you could not do injury special effects makeup by yourself, second of all, my costume is completely done and easy."
"Oh yeah, because you're dressing as that Jackie guy, right, from your game? Because you couldn't just dress in something supernatural like the rest of us, you dork."
"It's Zacharie, from OFF, sweetie, remember it," I replied.
"It's a really good game, Reigen, you're being obtuse," Serizawa rolled his eyes and smiled.
Reigen huffed. "Fine, whatever, I'll get ready on my own," she said, walking into our room to get changed. Serizawa and I exchanged glances.
"She really puts the baby in babygirl, huh," I said, leading a giggling Serizawa into the spare room for him to get changed, "It's alright, we won't be long. It'll give her a second to calm down."
"So, are you just gonna stand there and watch, or?" he said, reaching to pull off his normal clothes to get into the pre-prepared, torn clothes we had made up earlier for his werewolf costume.
"I mean, yeah."
"Alright," he said, smiling, "but no touching. We're on a tight time frame, and I know you can't help yourself when you see all this without any clothes." He gestured, most pointedly at his chest and stomach.
I whined in protest, but ultimately accepted the gift of being able to see Serizawa briefly without a shirt, his chest and stomach in full glory, along with his legs and thighs. Though, the clothes he was putting on certainly didn't leave as much to the imagination as before. I walked with him into the bathroom, and sat him down on a stool. I put on some general make up, exaggerating his omnipresent bags under his eyes, before moving to putting on fake gashes and scars on his face and body. Mostly quiet and focused, the silence broken occasionally by Serizawa giggling and remarking that it tickled. It was nice to be so close. Although with every passing moment he became a scarier sight to behold, until I finally took a step back. I showed Serizawa his reflection in the mirror.
"Agh! Ren, what did you do to my face?" he exclaimed in horror.
"You're a werewolf now! Congratulations! Wait, wait, not yet," I quickly ran to the other room, grabbing the fake ears and fluffy tail, putting them on. "There we go! Now, don't touch it, don't pick at it, it will hurt. I'm going to check on Reigen." Serizawa nodded, and I walked up to our bedroom door, and knocked.
"Come in, doofus," Reigen called from inside.
I opened the door slowly, and looked at Reigen. She was wearing a long skirt, a ruffled white Victorian shirt and a black, long high collared coat, with red and black heeled boots. "Reigen, you look gorgeous!"
She blushed. "Thanks…" she hesitated, tapping her hands at her sides before speaking again "Can you do my make up?"
"Oh, yeah of course. Take a seat." I went and grabbed everything I needed from the bathroom. "I didn't realise you'd need my help, sorry. It's much less involved then Serizawa, so it won't take too long."
"It's okay, take your time," Reigen said, followed by a slight sniff.
I paused. "Are you okay?"
Reigen sighed. "Yeah, it's stupid."
I cupped her cheek, running my thumb along her cheekbone gently. "I promise, you can say anything to me."
"It's just… You and Seri…"
"You've been feeling left out?"
Reigen nodded, making harsh eye contact with the ground.
"Aww, I'm sorry about that," I said, giving her a quick kiss on the lips, "It's kinda different living together, isn't it. Sometimes me and Seri will do stuff together, sometimes you and him, sometimes me and you, even when we're all in the same house, that just happens. It can feel a little funny, doesn't it?"
Reigen nodded, and I pulled her into a hug. "It's okay, I'm glad you told me. Sometimes that's just how it is. But I'm with you now. And we're all gonna be together later. It's just been a busy day."
"Yeah, I really like living all together… and I know I do stuff on my own with Seri too. Just missing you both, that's all."
"That's alright. We're all together now. Get in here, Katsu!"
Serizawa opened the door, looking in sheepishly.
"Come over here and hug Reigen while I do her make up."
Reigen blushed furiously, stuttering in protest. Serizawa smiled, sitting next to Reigen on the bed, giving her a big hug. I sat across from them on the stool. Reigen's make up was a lot simpler. Just some normal eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, all that, and some fake blood. I handed her the fangs I had grabbed for her from the bathroom.
"Alright, I think we're done here… I have to quickly get ready, then Mob and Ritsu should be here." I grabbed the sweater and the mask from the wardrobe and put it on. "Done!" I did some jazzhands, "see, nice and simple."
Right after Serizawa and Reigen had finished their mock applause, there was a knock at the door. We went out to the living room. Reigen was in front, but she turned around right before opening the door, to face us. "Ren, you're such a dork," she said, straightening up my sweater sleeves and fixing up my hair, causing me to blush strongly behind the mask, as she fussed and neatened everything up. "Serizawa, this is an iconic look for you," she said, turning her focus towards him, fussing over Serizawa and making sure his ears were on straight, and his tail was at its utmost fluffiness. "Right. It's showtime."
Reigen turned around and swung open the door, revealing a demon Mob and a pirate Ritsu, beckoning them inside.
"Wow, you guys look amazing!" Mob said, as they looked at us all individually, slowly walking inside.
"Thanks, Mob!" Reigen replied, ruffling their hair, careful not to disturb the horns, "you guys both look great too!"
Ritsu rolled his eyes, but couldn't hide the tinge of red on his cheeks. "Thanks, I guess."
"Come this way for some spooky pumpkin carving!" Reigen exclaimed dramatically, leading us all to a table. The table had 5 pumpkins, and had fake spiders and spiderwebs. We all sat down in front of a pumpkin each.
"Ren, can you see okay? In the mask? I don't want you to cut yourself accidentally," Serizawa said, from the seat next to mine.
I rubbed his arm, assuringly. "Don't worry, I'll be fine."
Serizawa nodded slowly, before going back to staring at the pumpkin in front of him. "Uh, Reigen, what do we do with this?"
The table was full of confused faces looking expectantly at Reigen.
"Well, you carve it of course!"
Serizawa lifted up the pumpkin, weighing it in his hands and looking at it quizzically. "How?"
"Ah, well-" Reigen stuttered.
"I've actually seen this done before, maybe I can help you, Serizawa?" Mob interrupted.
Reigen began to stammer a protest, to insist that she knows what she's doing, but Serizawa cut her off. "Thanks, Mob."
Reigen took a breath, before returning to her usual expression. "Ah, great idea Mob, it would be good for you to teach this."
Mob used their pumpkin as a demonstration and helped guide everyone through the process of hollowing out their pumpkins, and gave an example of a design, where they carved a scary expression onto the pumpkin. After that, everyone felt more comfortable and confident and began working on their own designs. I was carving out a cat-like face into my pumpkin, when I misjudged the placement of my knife, and in a failure of depth perception, I cut off a good chunk of my left pointer finger.
"Shit," I said without thinking, before quickly moving my hand under the table. Everyone faced me suddenly.
"Ren, are you okay?" Serizawa said, sounding stern, his eyebrows furrowed
"Yes, I'm fine, I'm fine," I waved with my right hand.
"Ah, Ren, what have you done this time?" Reigen teased, as she got up from the other side of the table to come over to me. I could feel the blood dripping onto the floor - it wasn't a major injury, but I had to go deal with it without them realizing what had happened. All eyes were still on me. Even Ritsu looked concerned. Reigen ran her hands down my arms, and I recoiled.
"I'm fine." I scowled at Reigen.
She pouted. "Come on, Ren, what happened?" Reigen stepped back, and must have noticed the blood on the floor because her eyes suddenly went wide. I tried to push my chair back and at least deal with the injury on my own, but Reigen was too quick, grabbing my hidden hand. "Ren!"
Serizawa cried out suddenly. "Ren!" He sounded almost angry, or at least as close to angry as Serizawa was capable of. "I told you this would happen!" He sighed.
"Hey, buddy, it's okay, they didn't mean it," Reigen reached back with her other hand, patting Serizawa on the shoulder, as she tenderly held my left hand.
"I know… sorry… I just want to protect you, and you're both so stubborn sometimes," Serizawa mumbled, ringing his hands, as Reigen's coat started to lift up.
"It's okay, how about you clean up the blood on the floor, and I'll look after stubborn little Ren here." Reigen helped me out of the chair, putting her hand on my back and walking with me to the bathroom.
As we walked, I overheard Mob and Ritsu talking from the other room. "I hope they're okay," said Mob. Their voice was filled with concern.
"They'll be fine, probably gonna just leave a cool scar, that's all," Ritsu assured them.
Reigen closed the door of the bathroom. She sat me down on the edge of the bath as she rummaged through our cabinets for some disinfectant and a band-aid. Kneeling down in front of me, she took my hand, washing the blood off and wiping it before putting on the disinfectant. I winced in pain and tears stung at my eyes. She quickly put on the band-aid, and kissed my hand. "Do you want to take off the mask now?"
"No."
Reigen laughed softly, and brushed the back of my hair gently with her hand. "You know, Serizawa isn't going to want you carving the pumpkin with the mask on, though, right?"
I looked at Reigen, her eyes even more beautiful than usual with the makeup accentuating them. "I'm not taking it off."
"Okay, okay," Reigen said, getting up off the floor and joining me on the edge of the bath, wrapping her arm around my shoulder. "You alright?"
I hesitated. "Serizawa was angry..."
Reigen sighed. "Yeah, but, you know he's not angry at you, right? He just wants to protect you. And when he can't protect you, it frustrates him. But he only gets mad sometimes because he's scared of you getting hurt. And, you know, we are pretty stubborn."
Reigen squeezed me into her tight. She got up off the side of the bath, and pulled me up with my good hand. We were standing close together, and my hands went gently to her hips. She was taller than me, from the heels. Having to look up at her slightly made my heart beat fast. I was grateful for the mask.
"Now, come on, Zacharie, let's go back out there and keep being stubborn," she turned and opened the door, before turning back to face me. She suddenly lifted up the mask, and smiled at my even more intense blushing. "Just as I thought," she smiled smugly, giving me a quick kiss on the lips, before grabbing my hand and walking with me back to the table with the others.
Serizawa was standing at the front of the table. His eyes were filled with tears, and as he saw us round the corner, he started to cry. Ritsu grabbed all the knives and held onto them tight as Serizawa unconsciously levitated everything else around him. He held his head in his hands and pulled at his hair. "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, Ren, I'm so sorry I got mad, I'm so sorry I hurt you, that's the last thing I wanted to do, please -"
I gave him a big hug, wrapping my arms around him as best I could. "It's alright, I understand."
"No, it's not alright, I'm dangerous, I'm always going to be, and I tried to be protective and a good boyfriend but even then it just resulted in me getting mad and you getting more hurt." I could feel my feet slightly levitate above the ground, and I held on tighter out of necessity now, as well as comfort.
"It's really okay, Katsu, all you did was raise your voice ever so slightly, when I ignored your concern and got hurt." My feet slowly returned to the ground.
"But… I upset you."
"You're allowed to upset me sometimes, Seri. I understand. That's part of being in a relationship, is being a little bit mad at eachother sometimes. God knows I do it with Reigen," I squeeze Serizawa tightly, before releasing my arms, and reaching my arms up to remove his hands from his hair, holding them in my hands. "But Reigen and I still love each other. And we both still love you. Even if we're stubborn and annoy each other sometimes. It's okay. We're okay."
"Yeah, it's really fine, Katsu. Don't worry so much."
"But… I do worry. I want to protect you both. And…" he looked down at the ground, before returning his gaze to look at me, "you're both so small, and you make such bad decisions."
Reigen burst out laughing, and Serizawa looked suddenly at her, his eyes wide with fear. He started to lift me off the ground again, as well as Reigen.
"Hey, you're right, it's okay," Reigen said, wiping her eyes as she cried from the laughter, "it's okay Serizawa. It's okay."
I laughed softly and took the temporary height advantage to kiss him on the nose, causing him to smile and slowly put us back down. "It's not our fault you're so much taller, Katsu," I laughed and squeezed him tight, pressing my head against his chest.
"I know, but it just makes me want to bundle you up and protect you even more…" Serizawa mumbled, blushing.
I looked back at Reigen who was blushing even more then Serizawa was, clicking her fingers quickly.
"Get a room!" Ritsu exclaimed from the kitchen table, laughing.
"Right, let's finish off these pumpkins!" I exclaimed, but as I stepped forward, Serizawa put his hand on my shoulder and furrowed his eyebrows at me.
"Not with that mask on, Ren," Serizawa said in a stern tone.
"Seriii," I pleaded, "please, I don't want to take it off."
Serizawa's eyes softened slightly. "You can keep it on, but I'll finish the pumpkin for you. I'm done with mine anyway."
I sighed dramatically. "Fine, I'm almost done so I guess… You win."
Serizawa smiled. "Thank you."
I cuddled Serizawa from behind as he sat and finished cleaning up the cuts in the pumpkin, as Ritsu, Mob and Reigen finished theirs. Soon enough we were all done and eyeing our handiwork.
"So… what now?" asked Ritsu.
"What now?" Reigen said, incredulously, "what now? Was this not good enough for you?"
"Uh, well, we still have lots of time that's all. If this is all you have planned, you may have oversold the night," Ritsu responded, holding his chin in his hands and slumping forward.
"Ah, no, of course not! I have lots of other activities planned!"
Serizawa looked at Reigen, his eyebrows furrowed. "We do?"
"Shishou, I saw one of your neighbors had a haunted house. It looked really cool," offered Mob.
"Ah, thank you, Mob, I was about to say that," Reigen waved her hands wildly. "Let's head over there!"
Serizawa stood close to Reigen and whispered in her ear. "Um, Taka, I don't know about that, it sounds a bit scary."
"Oh, they'll be fine," she said, gesturing to Mob and Ritsu.
Serizawa hesitated. "I mean, I'm scared. And I'm worried about what will happen if I get too scared…"
"Oh, you'll be fine. It's just the neighbors putting together something, it probably won't even be that scary…" she grabbed Serizawa's hand, walking out the door, with Mob, Ritsu and I in tow, as I grabbed the house keys.
We wandered down the street to the house. The air was cold, and crisp against us. There were leaves scuttling across the pavement as we approached the house. There were lots of skeletons, and cob webs all around. Grave stones, spooky lights starting to shine against the darkening sky. Serizawa stood next to me gripping my hand tightly, Mob and Ritsu meandered in front, and Reigen strutted forward, leading the group along the path, up to the cob web covered front door.
Someone dressed as a vampire opened the door. "Ah, you have chosen the wrong house to seek candy from, children," he cackled, gesturing to Mob and Ritsu, "you must walk through these halls of terror first." The vampire stood back, leaving the door wide open.
It felt like my hand was going to fall off. I tugged slightly on Serizawa's hand. "You don't have to do this."
Serizawa just nodded, and walked forward, following the others into the house. I held onto both of Serizawa's hands, just in case.
"Wow, this is very impressive!" Reigen continued in front, gesturing wildly at all the decorations as we walked through the hall. It really was quite impressive. There were fake trails of blood leading into the various closed rooms. Cobwebs were everywhere, and we could hear the sound of screams and mad laughter echoing from the rooms. We continued walking along, observing coffins stacked up against the walls, with rotting skeletons and corpses pushed inside them.
"What do you think, Mob?" Reigen turned around, clasping a hand on their shoulder.
"It smells really bad." They were right. It smelt like rotten eggs.
Reigen gestured wildly, and walked backwards with dramatic, slow steps. "That's the smell of death and decay, Mob. The smell of the monsters in these halls," she said dramatically. Suddenly, a zombie stumbled out of a side room room, almost stumbling into Reigen. The zombie made a loud, guttural noise, before stumbling through to the next room, but not before Reigen jumped into the air, running to hide behind me and Serizawa.
"Uh, you guys go on ahead," she said to Mob and Ritsu. They shrugged and continued walking. We made it out unscathed, and looped through a wooded path through their yard back to the front of the house. Mob and Ritsu received their prize, some candy from a skeleton, and we made our way back onto the street. We decided to walk up and down the street to see if we could get any more candy. Reigen, Serizawa and I held hands as we walked, and by the time we had walked up and down the street the sky was filled with stars and Mob and Ritsu's bags were filled with candy.
We walked up to the house, and Mob and Ritsu spent a moment admiring their loot as Serizawa cooked the ghost pizzas.
Ritsu looked up at Reigen, a slight smile on his face. "Now what?" He said, putting some candy in his mouth.
"Now, we are watching a movie."
"A movie? Really? What movie?"
Reigen rummaged around in the DVD cabinet, pausing for dramatic affect before revealing the DVD. "What we do in the shadows!" She held the DVD proudly.
Ritsu opened his mouth, before closing it. He paused. "You know what? I can't even complain about that." Even Mob looked excited, and Serizawa looked relieved.
We sat down, Mob and Reigen on the couch with Maya, and I was on Serizawa's lap, with Reigen sitting on a cushion in front of us, my hands in her hair. We all enjoyed the movie, and the pizza, and cupcakes, Mob and Ritsu making a good dent in their candy collection.
When the credits played, Reigen stood up. "Time to take you guys home!"
Ritsu exclaimed, "It's only 8:30!"
"Yes, precisely, and your parents wanted you home by 9 at the latest. Come on, let's go. I'm surprised you want to stay, Ritsu."
They both got up off the couch and wandered to the door with Reigen. "Well… I was actually having fun…"
Reigen smiled broadly. "Don't worry, we'll do it another time."
Ritsu and Mob waved and said goodbye as Reigen walked with them out the door to drive them home. "Make sure to have this place sparkling by the time I'm home, my dears," Reigen said, dramatically.
I groaned after she shut the door and threw my head back dramatically into Serizawa's chest.
"Come on, you heard her." Serizawa smiled before wrapping his arms around mine and lifting me off the chair with him. I begrudgingly cleaned up the dishes with Serizawa, and we cleaned up the obvious mess, just in time for Reigen to come back.
"Now, the real fun begins," Reigen said, rummaging in the DVD cabinet once more.
"Oh no," Serizawa groaned, "I thought we escaped the horror movies for once."
"Oh yes, you thought wrong." Reigen pulled the DVD out of the DVD cabinet, brandishing it for all to see. "Are you ready for the Evil Dead?"
"No." Serizawa and I replied in unison.
"Too bad," Reigen said, putting it in the DVD player, and dragging us over to the couch, where we all huddled together, squeezing each other tight. Ready for our annual horror movie marathon...

@ianuarius sent a crow ;
011. / Serizawa + Shou
011, the last train compartment that's not full.
Tumblr media
𝑯𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒋𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒅, he sits deafeated on one of the worn out discolored train seats, with his legs pulled all the way up against his chest, his arms loosely wrapped around them as he huddled around the faint uncomfortable churning of his stomach and the frantic beating of his heart, forehead on the knees, fireburst hair tossed and messy around them. There were no gashes or broken bones this time around, he made sure of it, but his head hurt, and his whole body felt strange. So he just curled around the strangeness, embracing it in hopes it would fade away sooner than later, mind too blank and fuzzy from fatigue to think of anything else to do.
Dealing with new faces has always been the hardest part of a fight, if it's someone he recognizes, he would be aware of their powers beforehand, knowing what to expect, ready to counter them effectively. But his solo mission to investigate an abandoned Claw base didn't go as planned, much like a lot of other things lately. It turned out the place wasn't abandoned as everyone thought, and the former scars gathering over there brought new friends. It's laughable, truely, he got hold on information about espers clashing in there last week, it made him convinced that the government weren't doing their job properly when it came to targets, and that's when he decided to take matters into his hands, his rusty, small and poorly trained hands which haven't punched someone square in the face for nearly a month.
Electrokinesis weren't a joke, it makes Shou laugh regardless, because he was as stupid and slow as to let someone use it on him again. He hasn't forgotten -he probably never will- the all-encompassing, burning sensation of every fiber of his body cramping and screaming with agony, even it was just for split a second of his bastard of a father toying with him like a bug he could squat away with ease. It appears the culprits Claw left behind has awakened to a new sort of realization, it's like they've suddenly discovered strategies and wise decisions were a real thing an esper can use in battle, instead of brutal force driven by arrogance and bloodlust.
He wasn't in for a fight, really, not that he minded it, but he simply went there for investigating, getting clues on how things were being handled behind his back, dealing with Joseph has gotten frustrating, the asshole won't spill a word on any of their agents' progress, and it sat with Shou in all the wrong ways. A lot of things sat with him in all the wrong ways, like the few seconds of paralysis he endured after the enemy esper was forced to release him from the hold of electric shock waves, or the fact that Serizawa of all the people in this fucking world happened to be the one to save his pathetic ass, or the unusual somewhat funny feeling that crept up the nerves in his fingers and into his arms.
Shou holds his head up, sparing Serizawa a quick glance, not like he needed it to make sure the man was sitting right there besides him, accompanying him in the way home, letting Shou be engulfed in the familiarity of his aura. There was something new about it, ever since Serizawa started a new life away from Claw, there were many new things about him, it's almost overwhelming, but that didn't change the comfort, Serizawa has always been nice, even when Shou despised it with ounce of his power.
Shou supposed he has to worry about how Serizawa found out where to find him, he thought he was being subtle with his schemes, but he doesn't ponder too much on it, the sensation in his hands beginning to tick him off. He lets his legs slide down all too quickly, then makes work on checking his hands, looking at them with detached abhorrence. He turned his hands over on his lap. Palms up, palms down, fingers spread out, then all the way back, curling them until his hands turn into fists, them wash rinse and repeat. But it's the same no matter how he moves them; they are shaking. Quivering. Straight up trembling.
❝ Serizawa, ❞ Shou calls without as much of a second thought, a weirded out smile making his lips wobble, breathing starts to become a harder task with every passing second. ❝ I don't think I'm okay... ❞
Tumblr media
He raises one of his hands and holds it out in front of the elder esper so that he can see the tremors, speaking between uncontrollable breathy giggles. ❝ Look, it's just like you... ❞

Seri using his powers for romantic (or sexual) reasons is one of my favorite things. Keeping Reigens hands pinned with his powers? Amazing. Reigen making Serizawa hold him upside down with his powers to Spider-Man kiss? Beautiful.
SAAAME. i’m imagining him getting a little carried away and making them both float as they kiss without even realizing that he’s doing it 🤧
and also. if we’re also discussing sexual reasons. him using his powers to keep reigen moving when his legs get tired from riding seri. or using his powers to hold reigen up when he’s bent over and his legs give out. or just as a barrier between reigen and the wall/rug/desk he’s pinning him to so his knees or back don’t get hurt fughchgj seri is very considerate

Rereading & rewatching some mp100 again making me crave it. Such perfect media. But when I was knee deep in it like 3 years ago I had cute scenario of a curse shrinking mob and reigen but it took its time to activate after the encounter with the yokai/object so it happens at the office for Reigen & at school for Mob. It also scales down Mob’s powers (but like that’s an issue cuz he’s extremely powerful still) to match his size. Itty bitty Mob… who’s actually very nervous when it happens !! Maybe in the club room. Stopping by to grab his jogging outfit when he passes out & wakes up very small. Doesn’t even really process what’s happened until gigantic hands are on him and grabbing him a bit too roughly. It’s Tome—telepathy club finding him in the club room thinking he was a little bug & tome grabbing a plastic cup to trap it to let it go out the window (no one else was brave enough to) but once she does & peeks under she’s like AHH I-ITS KAGEYAMA and everyone’s like WHAT!! But ohhhh tiny lil fidgety mob on a gigantic table with gigantic oversized objects and 4 pairs of very big curious eyes staring at him with Tome bombarding him w questions. Little guy trying so hard to not get overstimulated…. They gave him a lil bottle cap to sit on and he does with his thumbs twiddling as he looks down at his shoes in an effort to just survive the situation calmly. <- loves stressing out his favs
meanwhile Reigen is a sweaty squeaky mess he shrunk in front of a freaking out Serizawa & Dimple so THANKFULLY they were there in the moment to catch it happening… Reigen hiding on his own desk as Dimple lightly jests him & Serizawa is actually way more anxious ridden than Reigen seems to be. N-not my fault that we upset whatever spirit thing was when we were exorcising a ghost on the thing’s grounds…. Whhhhehhhh listen I just love shrinking my favs and putting them in stress induced scenarios / simulations for my amusement.

Deleted/Alternate Scene - ‘Abraxas: The Clash of Silver’
So, here we have an alternate take on how Ren Serizawa ends up getting zapped by Mechagodzilla’s psionic uplink in my Abraxasverse recursive fanfiction ‘Abraxas: The Clash of Silver’. When I was tidying, I was actually pretty torn on whether to use this version or the one the finished chapter uses.
I like how this version shows Ren being a bit more able to handle himself when he and Bernie land themselves in hot water, and I was sorely tempted by the post-story opportunities it could create for a certain four-legged hydra monster’s three heads’ version of Ren ;) if said version of Ren got stuck in his current situation due to Ren going out of his way to do the right thing when he could have fled. But ultimately, I decided on the version the story uses because it’s less... it feels more real and less plot-armour-y if that makes sense.
----
<Security footage, Apex Cybernetics, 4-1-2024>
[Corridor. Ren Serizawa is being restrained and tightly escorted by security guards F-4, E-8 and F-11. F-4 turns his head towards a bend on Ren’s opposite side.]
F-4: Ms. Simmons!
[F-11 and E-8 turns towards the bend. F-4 promptly fires a single headshot at either of the other officers. Ren slumps to his knees as the other guards’ bodies immediately fall. Ren looks at F-4, who holsters his gun and promptly helps him to his feet.]
Ren: What?
F-4: Sent by a mutual acquaintance. You can thank them after I’ve gotten you with your pal on the next maglev train out of here. Come on!
[F-4 lightly pushes Ren forward. They begin walking. Ren stops.]
Ren: No, wait. The Zmeyevich are integrating with Simmons’ mech right now, but they’ll be  vulnerable while they are connected.
F-4: Look, Mr. Serizawa, I was only brought onboard to get you out of dodge if you or that other guy turned up here and got caught.
[F-4 reaches towards Ren’s shoulder. Ren slaps F-4’s hand away. They hold each-other’s gazes.]
Ren: That’s fine. But I have a job I intend to see through, and unless both the psionic uplink hubs are now under heavy-guard, you can help me or you can try to stop me.
[Pause.]
F-4: (Sighs.) I know the way to the nearest Purple Room.
[F-4 walks past Ren. Ren follows.]
----
<Security footage, Purple Room #2, Apex Cybernetics, 3-28-2024>
[Megiddo is still seated inside the activated module. Hiss and clang of the room’s main electronic door opening. Ren Serizawa and Security F-4 walk into frame.]
F-4: I’m not gonna waste my bullets.
Ren: I think I can shut it down from here…
[Ren takes long strides towards the module cockpit. Ren freezes when the module’s lighting briefly blinks off with a loud electronic noise – when the lighting reactivates, light in the module’s cables are rippling and flowing at a rapid rate. Ren and F-4 crane their heads, examining the module’s parts.]
Automated voice: Warning. System compromised. Recommend pilot disconnect immediately.
[Ren mumbles indecipherably. He closes the distance to the module cockpit, climbs atop it. He appears to briefly examine Megiddo, then turns towards F-4.]
Ren: If I disconnect them, there’s a chance they will wake up immediately. When that happens, I’d appreciate it if you do your job.
[Megiddo appears to twitch slightly. Neither Ren nor F-4 seem to notice.]
Ren: The other Zmeyevich was very fast and very strong.
[The module’s systems blink and flicker again.]
Automated voice: Warning. System compromised. Recommend pilot disconnect immediately.
[Ren begins typing commands into the module’s computers – he gives up after a few moments. Megiddo spasms and shifts in the seat, chest appears to swell with something underneath her clothing. F-4 lifts his firearm.]
F-4: Serizawa!
[Ren turns his head. Megiddo’s shifting appears to subside.]
Automated voice: Warning. System compromised. Recommend pilot disconnect immediately.
[Pause. Ren sharply reaches towards the control helmet. Visual tearing: a white flash explodes from the module. Electrical sparks hiss across the module, Ren and Megiddo are visibly spasming as lightning arcs flow over them. After approximately 5 seconds; the module spontaneously loses all apparent power and function as all lights and illumination deactivate, Ren slumps forward in the cockpit. Smoke and darkness slightly obscure the footage.]
Security F-4: Serizawa?!
[F-4 rushes towards Ren, checks for a pulse. Appears to lower his head slightly. F-4 begins dragging Ren’s body away from the cockpit.]
[Sudden blast of noise, visual tearing. F-4 freezes, looks around.]

how nature points out the folly of man (fanfic)
gvk spoilers!!! you have been warned!!!!
AN - After being diappointed by Ren's lack of character development, I decided to take matters into my own hands and at the very least gave one of the most important characters of the Monsterverse's angsty son a redemption ark. (To give sum credit where it's due this is partially inspired by 'Abraxas' (if u havent read that yet read it it's *chefs kiss*)
(Constructive criticism is always appreciated)
fanfic availiable on ffn and ao3 (when ig et an account jgjehgaeg)
Summary: For the first time in five years, Ren Serizawa was almost glad his father was dead.
We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
-
He never meant for things to end up this way.
He just wanted peace.
All Ren Serizawa could think as he trudged his way up the stairs of Castle Bravo up to the flight deck was how tired he was. Yet, another sleepless night brings him back up to his best hiding spot, away from all the lights and noises and everyone and everything reminding him of what he did, what it led to.
It led to over four thousand dead.
Simmons ignored his pleas to at least test the Mecha with the energy they extracted. The man was blinded by his own fantasy of humanity reigning the earth once again to see the entity they had awoken, and Ren had been too blinded by grief to see that Walter was merely using him for his own gain, and wasn’t afraid to put him or his own daughter in harm’s way to get what he wanted.
The last thing he remembered before waking up confined to a bed in the Argo with a throbbing headache is being paralyzed by a force beyond comprehension in Monster Zero’s skull. The distorted computer’s warning drained out by the ever growing hum. And then the hum began to cackle.
Then nothing.
They said it was a miracle he was able to walk, talk or think, moreso that he was even alive.
Ren disagrees. He sees it as a curse.
The breeze greeted him immediately as he opened the door to the deck. He inhaled, tasting the salty air and exhaled, letting go of all the tension in his muscles as he did so. The night was silent minus the waves crashing below. He tried to focus on the sound as he walked towards the railing, trying to drown out the flashbacks of the god forsaken sinister voice that overflowed his brain in that machine, tormenting him, taunting him. Almost as if saying, “Now look what you’ve done little one. You awoke a force your pathetic little mind cannot even begin to conceive. You never learn. And now you will feel my rage until you can feel no more. I’ll show you. I’ll show all of you.”
As he lights a cigarette with shaky hands, Ren thinks, for the first time in five years, he was almost glad his father had died.
Blowing the smoke into the air and watching it until it diminished into nothing, he wonders what he would say to him, if anything at all. Would he even be able to even look at him? Perhaps his miraculous survival was at the thanks of him, his way of punishing him for his deadly error. He’d rebelled against his upbringing to respect the course of nature, never to fight against it. He let himself be manipulated into playing God only to become the Devil’s advocate, and he was now living in his own personal hell.
Because living with the heavy burden of his mistake was a punishment worse than death.
He’s so lost in his own head that he doesn’t even see the blue glow in the sea below beckoning closer and closer until he spots familiar dorsal fins breaking through the surface. He tumbles back and collapses to the floor, dropping his pack in the meantime, staring up in shock and amazement as the king of the monsters rises before him, staring directly back at him.
The titan his father died for. The titan he nearly killed himself trying to destroy.
Gojira.
The king looks down at him with curiosity, leaning closer with a deep bellowing rumble, close enough that he could have named the colors in his irises had it not been so dark. He huffs, the hot wind so forceful, it nearly pushes him back down again. Gojira lets a rumble escape his throat, as if he was saying, “I know you.”
Ren slowly gets back onto his feet and takes a step back, trying to control his breathing. The titan continued to stare him down inquisitively almost looking like he was trying to pinpoint where he had seen him before. Every alarm in Ren’s head rang at him to run, to say something, to do something, but he’s frozen. Whether it was from fear or awe, he’s not quite sure.
He wonders if this was how his father felt when he entered his chamber.
A growl brings him back to his majesty’s full attention, and his blood went cold.
This is it. Gojira recognizes him. He knows what he’s done and how he tried to destroy him and now he’s here to get his revenge. He braces himself and cowers down, waiting for the king to finish him and put him out of his misery. He continues to wait for the end to come, but it never came.
He just stood there, now with a mischievous look in his eyes. Ren’s blood begins to boil.
<“You BASTARD!”> he shouts in Japanese, so forceful that even Gojira looks taken aback.
<“How dare you torment me after everything! Who do you think you are?! You think you can just show yourself whenever you like, come and go as you please?! Take whatever and do whatever your heart desires and expect us to rejoice in your grace and sing kumbaya?!”> Ren stops to regain his breath, his vision beginning to blur, tears beginning to fall. He squeezes his eye shut as tight as he could, refusing to let the king see him begin to finally break after years of keeping his composure. <”My father gave you his life to you and what do you do? NOTHING! You don’t even blink! You have no remorse! He saw you as a God and valued you more than anything and you go on as if nothing happened! You took everything from me!”>
<”Then you come and taunt me! To show me how much of a coward my father’s pathetic excuse of a son is! You don’t think I know this already?! IknowIknowIknow!>”
He’s screaming through sobs now. He doesn’t care.
Looking up to the sky he shouts angrily at his father, <“Look what you’ve DONE! Look what your choice led to! Here I am breaking down to a giant ancient radioactive lizard,”> he dramatically motions his hands towards the beast while shouting to the stars, <”because you left me here! You left me behind! And now I’ve ruined everything! Is this your way of punishing me?! Is this what you want?!?!”> He hoped he could hear him.
Ren chokes and gasps for air and screams with all of his might before collapsing down onto his knees, pounding his fists onto the hard pavement like a child not getting his way, not even noticing that Gojira had moved closer to him until he falls and lands on his snout. He continues to slam his fists with his body onto him, before residing and burying his eyes into the heels of his palms, crying, <”Why did it have to be you?”> into them.
“<Why did you have to go?>”
He sobs for several more minutes, now shouting, <”I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry.”> into his hands over and over until he has no more tears left to cry. Once he finally regains his breath, he shakily stands up and pats his pockets for his cigarettes again. When he doesn’t feel them in there, he looks around and doesn’t see them. Assuming they fell into the ocean during his tantrum, he sighs defeated.
Gojira rumbles to remind him he’s still there. Ren looks up at him in his eyes again. This time however, he sees the strangest thing. Recognition. Compassion, even.
After a moment, He slowly takes a step forward, and reaches his hand out to rest on his face. (Ren doesn’t have to wonder if his father did the same, he knows.)
“Sorry for hitting you.” he says. (It roughly translated to, "I'm sorry I tried to replace you. For betraying him, betraying you. I'm sorry for all of it, for evrything." and everything his throat was too sore to speak outloud)
Gojira huffs in reply.
(That roughly translated to, “I Forgive You.” he wasn't referring to the poke on snout)
Ren pulls his hand away and Gojira pulls back as well, they share one final look before the titan turns and dives back into the ocean, splashing Ren in the process and disappears below the waves.
Ren sleeps that night, a lifetime’s worth of wounds finally beginning to heal.

Chapter 21
“Uh, Serizawa?” Florès started, taking the opening of Graham being called elsewhere to attempt his question.
The older man turned toward him, the mechanic wincing as he saw the dark undereye circles. Apparently, he wasn’t the only one working ridiculous hours. “What is it?”
“Uh... weird things have been happening to Russellita, and I think it might be linked to the Titans?” He started, Serizawa frowning in confusion. “Nothing worrying, just... dreams. And she can actually hear what they’re saying.”
Serizawa’s eyes widened. “What!?”
“Don’t get your hopes up.” Florès started dismissively. “She can only hear them if she’s here in person. She actually hears what everyone else hears in recordings, so I wasn’t really able to add a lot of soundbanks-”
“No, Florès, this isn’t about that-” Serizawa cut him off, carding his hands through his hairs. “マディソンは本当にアウグルになることができますか?...”
“... ¿Qué?”
“I- you should go ask Dr. Chen.” Serizawa started, turning back toward Florès, who tilted his head in confusion. “There is a myth of peculiar humans having a link with Titans, but she’s more knowledgeable about it than I am.”
“Alright. Where is she right now?”
“Her office, third floor, trying to figure out if there is something similar that happened to Mara in the past.”
“‘Kay, thanks.” Florès said before leaving the main room, waving the Serizawa as another scientist came to talk to him.
He entered the elevator, where Madison was waiting. “So?”
“We need to go talk to Dr Chen.” Florès started, pressing the button to the third floor. “She’s the one that made that PowerPoint on the Titans.”
“Oh!” The elevator started, rising rapidly. “Did you remember to tell Mr. Serizawa about Godzilla still being alive?”
“... He started panicking when I told him you could hear Titans, so I decided to save it for later.” Florès explained, deciding it had less of a chance of making Madison mock him then ‘No, I forgot’.
Luckily for him, the elevator door opened just after, and the two walked out, searching for the mythologist’s office. Finally, they found a door with a plaque that read ‘Ilene Chen’. Florès knocked on it. “Come in” a voice on the other side said, and the two entered.
The first thing that Madison noticed was how different Chen’s office was from Florès’. The walls were covered in bookcases, all filled to the brim, instead of the occasional article for living like a mini-fridge. There was also an actual desk she worked at, also covered in books, instead of a worktable with a computer and multiple tools laying around on it.
Chen raised her head. “Oh, Florès! And... Madison?” Madison nodded. “How can I help you two?”
“I... I think I might have powers.” Madison started, taking a few steps forward. “Powers linked to the Titans.”
Chen’s eyes widened, getting up from her seat. “What kind of powers?”
“I can hear them speak without any assistance, and I also have dreams about them.” She explained, Chen nodding as she started looking through folders stashed in a bookcase.
Florès raised an eyebrow. “Wait, there’s actually a myth about people being able to talk to Titans!?” Chne turned toward him momentarily to nod, before turning back toward the bookcase. “... Why do we need the ORCA, then?”
“1) Because it’s a myth.” Chen started, taking a folder and sitting back down. She opened it, showing the other two pictures of engraved walls and cave paintings. “We had no actual proof of it... until now, at least. 2) According to the myths, there can only be one Augur at a time.”
Florès and Madison frowned, looking at each other before turning their eyes toward Chen. “Uh... what’s an Augur in this context?”
“... Oh boy.” Chen sighed, flipping through the notes and photos in the file before closing it. She took a deep breath. “The Augur is, essentially, the link between humanity and Titans. They speak the will of the Titans to humans, and they explain humans’ actions to Titans. To do so, they are granted abilities, often when they are children. Amongst those abilities, being a spectator to Titan’s interacting through their dreams and understanding their language are usually the first ones that appear.”
“...Holy shit, Russellita, you actually do have magical powers!” Florès exclaimed, eyes wide.
Madison numbly nodded, staring at her hands. The link between humans and Titans... She frowned. “Why me? I’m nothing special, I’m just- I’m a regular girl, and being an Augur sounds like something great people should be doing.”
“You’re also part of the very rare category of people who neither worship, fear, or hate Titans. Your only wish is to understand them.” Chen explained. “Monarch and the T.L.F. falls in the first category-”
“Uh, didn’t expect you guys to be self-aware.”
“-albeit for different reasons,” Chen snapped, the mechanic raising his hands when she sent him a frustrated look. ”The military falls in the third category, and most civilians would fall in the second. The only other person I can think of that falls into your category is, well...” She tilted her head in Florès’ direction, who shrugged.
“Oh, I do fear them, don’t get me wrong.” He started. “Just not in the way one would fear God. More like one would fear an extremely unhinged neighbor who owns a flamethrower and keeps giving you the evil eye. And anyway, we only fear what we don’t understand, and I don’t like being scared. So understand them I’ll have to.” There was a pause. “Also, you guys are selling yourselves short. Isn’t the whole point of Monarch trying to understand the Titans?”
Chen snorted. “Would you look at that? You are capable of being nice!”
There was snickering, and then a pause. “Can we... wait until I’m ready to tell more people?” Madison asked. This was still a lot to process. “Or at least until we’re a 100 percent sure about the Augur thing? I mean, it could be just a fluke, or...”
“Of course. Take all the time you need.”
“Sounds good to me.”
-
“-and that’s pretty much all I can think of for basic sentences to use on your brothers.” Rodan finished, putting his hands on his knees as Ni nodded. “Now, repeat what I just did.”
Ni raised his hands, signing the sentences as he spoke. “This is for ‘thank you’ and that’s for ‘please’, this is for ‘stop doing that’, that’s for asking them to do something, that’s light-hearted ribbing, telling them to leave me alone, asking for affection, and finally, this for ‘I... I... lov... I lo...’ urgh. You know what it’s for.”
Rodan nodded. Apparently, Ni was unable to say ‘I love you’ out loud for some reason. When asked about it, he had snapped that neither could Ichi or San and that it wasn’t just him being bad with words. This was... worrying, especially since it was clear to anyone who had eyes that can see that the three of them cared about each other more than anything.
But his hands had recreated the sign to perfection, and that was enough for Rodan. He nodded, clapping his hands a bit in encouragement. “Yeah, that’s it!” Ni’s lips twitched up. “Do you want to stop here for today, or...?”
Ni nodded, getting back up and offering a hand to Rodan as he did so. The shorter one took it, not very keen on the idea of staying seated and letting Ghidorah look even taller to him. “I’m done for the day. Do you want to stay with us for a bit?”
Rodan nodded, following Ni to the beach. Ghidorah had pretty much claimed this part of the coast as their own, setting up a mock-nest there. Ichi and San were already there, Ichi listening calmly and occasionally offering something as San rambled on in a language he didn’t understand. The bird watched as Ni joined them, kneeling on the ground as his brothers turned toward him.
He also saw him lift his hands to sign something, unable to say what it was from the angle he stood at. But considering a strange warbling noise left San’s mouth before he jumped Ni, squealing happily, it was probably positive.
Rodan made his way to Ichi, carefully avoiding the Ghidorah pile were strange thrilling and chirping noises were rising from. Ichi was looking at said pile, a dumbstruck look on his face. Rodan hesitantly raised his hand. “Hi.”
Ichi snapped toward him, before avoiding his gaze toward what Rodan could only assume was a very interesting rock. “Fire bird. Do you know where Ni learned those... symbols?”
“Oh, it’s sign words.” Rodan explained, oblivious to Ichi’s discomfort. “Ni told me he wasn’t really good with words, so I’ve been teaching him.”
“And you thought it would be a good idea to to teach him how to say ‘I lo’-” Ichi suddenly gagged on nothing, catching the both of them off-guard. For a few seconds, the only sound filling the air was the continuous, soft growling noise coming from San a distance away.
“Uh. So you guys really can’t say ‘I love you’, uh?” Rodan noted, Ichi glaring at him.
“... Why would you teach him that?” He asked again, voice softer this time.
“Because I found it really sad and a bit worrying that you guys can’t say that you love each other out loud. Plus,” Rodan jerked his thumb toward Ni and San. They were now sitting up, San chirping happily and limbs wrapped around his brother as they cuddled. “your brothers seem pretty fine with it.”
Ichi groaned, burying his face in his hands. “Shut up...”
Rodan snorted at that, sitting down. “What, the ~Golden Demise~ can’t handle a bit of affection?” He taunted, Ichi sending him a look that could kill humans.
However, just as he opened his mouth, San jumped on him. Ichi yelped as the two fell to the ground, the strange growling chirps still leaving San as he rambled on in a manner that was just coherent enough for Rodan to realize it wasn’t just gibberish. The fact that Ichi was answering in the same non-sensical speech also helped.
Rodan barely noticed Ni as he came to sit down, his hands signing ‘thank you’ as he did so. “For showing me how to say it.” He then clarified.
Rodan nodded, shrugging. “It’s nothing, really. No need to make a big deal out of it.”
“I’m being honest.” Ni insisted. “And not just because I don’t like lying: being able to tell my brothers I... care... for them almost makes me want to dance in joy.”
“I wanna sing!” San suddenly exclaimed, getting off of Ichi who had apparently been content to lay on the ground as his brother attempted to cuddle him to death. He was onto Ni again, eyes shining with unbridled joy. “I wanna sing while you dance!!!”
Ni yelped, putting a hand on San’s shoulder and pushing him away. “Emphasis on almost, San!”
San pouted, sending a pleading at his brother, to no avail. Rodan looked off awkwardly to the side. “I... could dance?” He proposed, San snapping his head toward him with a big smile.
“Really!?”
“... yeah. I could.” Never mind that last time he danced, it was back when he was courting Quetzalcoatl. Was he so desperate for people that not only understood his anger, but supported him despite it that he was about to dance for the incarnations of Terra’s death? Was he really ready to sacrifice his integrity as a Guardian for Ghidorah’s possible support and affection-
Ichi must have sensed his hesitation, because he rose up, looking at Rodan with a neutral expression. “If you want, I could dance with you.”
This proposal made Rodan feel both better and worse for the exact same reason: the possibility that Ghidorah felt the same budding attraction. Nonetheless, he simply snorted, crossing his arms as he got up. “Wait, that’s how you invite someone to a dance? Thought you had more charm to you.”
Ichi laughed. Not the usual sinister giggle or mad cackle Ghidorah gave, but an actual, genuine laugh. “I’m sorry about that, let me try again.” He cleared his throat, before bending down, offering his hand to Rodan. “May I have this dance?~”
Oh, there’s no way this beautiful fucker isn’t doing it on purpose. He took a deep breath, taking of his sleeves in the process. “... You may.” Rodan accepted, putting his hand Ichi’s. He gasped as he was dragged closer, Ichi’s legs bent in such a way that Rodan was eye level with his collarbone.
He looked off to the side, feeling his cheeks warm up as a chuckle left Ichi. “Don’t get shy now, fire bird. I do prefer it when your bite matches your bark.”
Rodan raised an eyebrow at the challenge. “Oh, do you, Ichi?” He jerked his hand out of Ghidorah’s grasp, bringing both to Ichi’s waist before flipping their position. He used the new leverage to bend him down. He smirked at Ichi’s surprised expression. “You know, you should try getting on my level sometimes. Might get your head out of the clouds~”
Ichi’s expression changed to a grin at that, echoed by his brothers laughing a distance away. “Here’s that bite~” One of his hand came up, clawing at the back of Rodan’s head and using as leverage as he rose up a bit. “If you’re a good lead, I might just listen.” Their faces were dangerously close now, their lips almost brushing as he spoke- no, sang. “Show me what you’ve got, Rodan.”
Well, he didn’t have any reason to disobey that.
He lifted Ichi up, hands coming to hold his as he twisted him up, back against his front. Rodan moved his hands, coming to rest on Ichi’s crossed wrists instead. He barely registered the other shifting his hip, offering him a better view of what he was doing. An energetic but strange song started, courtesy of Ni and San.
He snapped his arms away, letting go of Ichi’s wrists in the process and making him spin. Rodan ran after him, fast and long strokes and light on his feet as he climbed up a rock. He grabbed Ichi by the shoulders as he reached the top, pulling him toward him. The music reached a crescendo as he used his grip to hoist himself up upside down onto Ichi’s shoulder, before letting himself fall.
As he reached the ground, he grabbed Ichi’s wrist. He pulled the taller one down as he did so, rising up and catching him in his arms as long-fingered hands came to wrap around the back of his neck. Rodan paused at that, looking down at him with a wolfish grin. “How’s that for a dance?”
Ichi’s light laugh filled the air again. “Not bad at all!” Ichi raised himself, his hands sliding down Rodan’s arms to hold his. “Alright, my turn to lead.”
The movements were much slower this time, Ichi almost gliding over the ground as he guided Rodan around in lazy circles. The tempo his brothers were providing them had slowed down accordingly, picking up each time Ichi put Rodan in a different position.
He picked him up, holding his companion to his side as he smiled. Rodan smiled back, letting Ichi puppet him around in a weirdly comforting manner. Terra, had he missed this kind of affection. He never wanted this dance to end, he wanted to stay here forever, he wanted... he...
He wanted to punch himself in the face.
No, I can’t let myself get attached. He had to remind himself as he and Ichi spun around, guided by San’s voice and Ni’s clapping as a calmer but still very strange song filled the air. They’re the reason Mara is dead.
They’re Ghidorah, and they came here to destroy our home.
Ichi took a hold of his waist, lifting him high in the air as easily as one would lift a twig.
They’re death bringers, all they’re good for is killing.
He was gently set back on the ground, his hand sliding down Ichi’s arm and intertwining their fingers.
Their storms wipe away everything under them. They...
Ichi started twisting his wrist as he held onto his hand, making Rodan spin around him in circles.
They...
A sudden jerking made him lose his balance, bringing him close to Ichi as he started falling. His hand let go.
They kill through storms.
Just as he was about to catch himself, Ichi bent down. Long fingers curled around his waist as the Ghidorah looked at him with an uncharacteristic soft expression, a few strands of long golden hair slipping over his shoulder.
The sky was clear when death came to my home.
As Rodan was raised back up, he swung his legs up, wrapping them around Ichi’s torso as his arms came to wrap around his shoulders. He distantly registered Ni and San stopping their improvised song.
Just this once, they’re innocent.
Ichi tilted his head in concern, gently prying Rodan off of him and setting him back on the ground.
Just what else are those three innocent of?
“Fire bird?” Rodan snapped his head up, eyes wide. Ichi was looking at him, a concerned frown on his face with both of his brothers peeking over his shoulders. “Is everything alright? You seem lost in thought.”
“I...” He separated himself from them, turning momentarily toward San when he moved toward him. “Yeah, I just... realized something-” He froze as San brought a hand to his face, brushing a few hair behind his hair.
The younger of the brothers had a calm look on his face, blinking slowly at him. “Don’t trouble yourself with anything unimportant, alright?”
The hand of another- Ni this time- came to hold his, dragging him toward the spot where the three usually slept. “Maybe stay with us tonight?” He then raised a hand, signing the word ‘please’.
Rodan numbly nodded, letting Ichi put a hand to his back to guide him. All four of them were unaware that it was at this precise moment that Ghidorah’s schemes both succeeded beyond measure, and fell apart in a million pieces.

Beach Day!
Word count: 1.9k
Summary: Reigen, Serizawa and Ren (S/I-OC) go to the beach!
A/N: Listen, guys, good god I can't write normal fanfiction apparently. The usual like "This is an OC for my self shipping purposes but you can read as whatever you want." But also... This features Reigen and Ren "age regressed" which for me, is basically letting your brain go back to a stage of younger years, some people do it for healing from trauma, some people do it just for fun, some people do it as a kink. THIS IS NOT KINK. But it's yours now - Do what you will. It's just not intended as kink.
Anyway, enjoy Caregiver Seri and butthead Reigen.
Reigen practically fell out of the car, stumbling out and jumping up and down as soon as Serizawa parked it. He ran down the path and immediately onto the sand, as I got out of the car in the front, with Serizawa. There was lots of bright sun, and people and cars everywhere in the busy carpark. I ran over to Serizawa and wrapped my arms around him, pushing my head into his chest. He held my head in his hand, brushing my hair with his fingers.
"There's a lot going on, isn't there, pumpkin?" I squeezed onto him tighter and nodded. He was so warm and squishy. "It's okay, I promise we're safe. You know me - if it wasn't safe, I wouldn't be here either. So if you're ever worried, just look at me."
I nodded, and stepped back, grabbing onto his hand tightly.
"Reigen!" Serizawa yelled out, "come back here, please!" Reigen ignored him, kicking up the sand as he explored. Serizawa rolled his eyes and turned back to the car, the wind pushing his hair back off his face, as we grabbed our stuff out of the car.
"Thanks, pumpkin, you're much better behaved, aren't you?" Serizawa asked, looking at me and smiling. I blushed and nodded as he ruffled my hair. The salty air was already making it wet, and it stuck up at odd angles after his hand left my hair.
We walked down to the main beach. "Reigen!" Serizawa called out again, but Reigen wasn't hearing any of it. Serizawa reached out and grabbed Reigen by the top of his shirt, as he ran past. Reigen stumbled at the abrupt obstacle, and would have fell onto the sand if Serizawa wasn't holding onto him. Reigen pouted, and crossed his arms.
"Babygirl, I need you to behave, okay?" Serizawa bent down so he was at eye level with Reigen. Reigen huffed.
"Why?" he pouted.
Serizawa rubbed Reigen's arm gently, and he finally uncrossed them and started clicking his fingers at his sides and tapping his legs. "We need to be safe. You're my little princess, aren't you?" Reigen blushed furiously and started tapping his legs faster. "Princesses have fun, they are awesome, just like you. But they also behave themselves when they have to. Just like you. Okay? So. Just like a princess, we are going to do our duties, and then you can have fun."
Reigen sighed, throwing his head back dramatically, the wind picking up his hair and tousling it about, before nodding. I continued holding Serizawa's hand, and stuck my tongue out at Reigen. He scowled at me and we walked along the beach around a corner to sit under the shade of a tree. Serizawa helped Reigen and I get sun safe before we headed onto the beach again. The sand was already embedded everywhere, including in the sunscreen, as I stood clamping my eyes shut, trying to ignore it.
Reigen ran straight into the water, kicking up sand as he went. I grabbed onto Serizawa's hand, and he stopped walking, looking back at me. His black swim shirt and black board shorts reflected the bright sun. His dark hair already had grains of sand through it. "Are you alright?"
I nodded. "Can I climb on?"
He smiled a big, goofy smile, cheek to cheek. "Of course! All aboard, the Serizawa express!" He knelt down onto one knee, as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He grabbed onto my legs as he got up, and I pressed my chest against his back.
He walked into the water. The water splashed up around him, splashing my feet as I clung onto his warm body tight. "It's cold!" I cried out, clinging tighter.
Serizawa laughed. We caught up with Reigen who was attacking the oncoming waves.
"Ren!" he shouted, swimming over. "Are you a scaredy cat? Come down here! Or are you too chicken?"
I glared at him. "I am not a chicken! You're just jealous that I get to be carried by Seri!"
Reigen wasn't listening. He had started to go round in a circle, flapping his arms and squawking like a crazy bird.
"You want to prove you aren't a chicken?" Serizawa whispered, barely audible over the crashing waves and Reigen's absurd squawking.
"Yes, I do. He's being a real butthead."
"Okay, follow my lead." He slowly lowered me into the water, and it rushed against my skin, cold and refreshing. Serizawa took my hand, and dove under the water. We stayed under for a few moments, obscured by the crashing waves, as we swam around and behind Reigen. We waited another moment, before jumping up and splashing him. He spun around, sputtering, before registering what had happened.
"Hey!" he yelled, before splashing us back, starting a whole water fight. The water was cold and salty, and the sand underneath us was kicked up in the scuffle. Reigen jumped at me, or perhaps more accurately, stumbled through the water and fell onto me. I yelled out in surprise, as he attempted to restrain my arms from splashing him back.
Serizawa wrapped his arms around us in a big hug, squeezing us together and to him. "Are we ready to play nice?" Serizawa smiled, ruffling Reigen's wet hair.
Reigen pouted. "I guess…"
"What was that?"
Reigen sighed, dramatically throwing his head back. "Yes, Serizawa."
Serizawa beamed. "Thanks, buddy," he said, ruffling Reigen's hair even more so it stuck up at all sorts of angles. "Ren?"
I paused for a moment, before managing to get my hand free and splashing Serizawa in the face with water.
"Ren!"
Reigen took the opportunity to break free as well, and we jumped at Serizawa, pushing him back into the water. He easily grabbed onto us again, holding us close to his chest, floating over the gentle waves.
"Nice try," he said, "but you little ones are no match for Serizawa Katsuya!"
Reigen and I sighed dramatically, but settled into his chest just the same. The water gently moved over us, as we moved slowly with the current. Serizawa was still radiating heat through his damp swim shirt.
"Hey, Ren," Serizawa whispered, barely audible above the water, "look."
He loosened his arm and I raised my head up. Reigen was tucked into Serizawa's arm, his head tilted facing Serizawa's chest, his mouth slightly open and eyes closed.
Serizawa smiled. "He's so peaceful…"
I nodded. "Why isn't he always like that?" I sighed.
Serizawa laughed gently. "Because that's not who he is. And that's alright. We love him exactly as he is, don't we?"
I grimaced, and looked at Reigen again. His mouth had shifted into a small smile. "Yeah, I guess we do. Even when he's SO annoying."
"We embrace his energy. He's certainly fun to have around. But, we also take a breath when he's resting," Serizawa laughed softly.
"You're silly, Katsu."
"We're all a bit silly, aren't we?" He ruffled my hair. "Especially this one."
Reigen's head shot up. "Who are you calling silly?"
"You were sleeping! You fell asleep on Katsu!" I exclaimed, falling into a fit of giggles.
"Shut up, I did not!" Reigen blushed furiously.
Serizawa picked Reigen up, lifting him up from under his arms, and holding him close to his chest. "Agh!" Reigen yelled out, as I burst into another fit of giggles.
"Come on, babygirl, help me out here," Serizawa grabbed Reigen's legs and wrapped them around his hips, as Reigen continued to jokingly protest.
"Ew, stop!" Reigen exclaimed, "what are you doing?"
"Giving my babygirl the love and affection he deserves!"
Reigen sighed dramatically, before wrapping his arms around Serizawa's neck and resting his head on his shoulder. Serizawa swayed gently, patting Reigen's back idly.
"Serizawa…? Are you happy?" I asked, tugging at his swim shirt.
"What? Of course I'm happy. Why do you ask, pumpkin?"
It looked like Reigen was asleep again. "Well… This… Is this what you wanted? Are you really okay being with Reigen and I, like, as a caregiver? It can't be what you wanted."
"Well," he paused, taking care in choosing his words, as he continued patting Reigen's back idly, "I can't say I could have predicted it. I didn't know age regression was a thing until you guys. But I didn't know lots of things before you guys. I didn't know about gender nonconformity, I didn't know about neopronouns, I didn't know how to cook! I didn't know what it felt like to be in love, either. All these are great things. It can be… a lot sometimes. Especially with this one," he gestured at Reigen, "but I like the challenge. And I know it brings you joy. And it brings me a lot of joy too. Anything we do together, whether it's this, or anything else, brings me joy."
I gave him a big hug, as good as I could with Reigen.
"I love you, Seri!"
"Aww, I love you too, pumpkin. Now, how about some lunch?"
We went back onto the shore, and set up a picnic blanket. Sand got everywhere, but everything still tasted very delicious. Serizawa had made home made sandwiches. After that, we made sandcastles for a bit, and Reigen made his own princess kingdom and Serizawa and I acted as his royal subjects. As the sun began to set, Serizawa bought us ice cream from an ice cream van, which just made Reigen run around even crazier…
Once Reigen had calmed down a bit, we packed the car back up, with Reigen's help this time. Serizawa put Reigen into the back seat, buckling him in.
"I want to be in the front!" he whined.
"I'm sorry, my little princess, Ren needs to be in the front, they get carsick," he said, before giving Reigen a kiss on the forehead.
Reigen pouted, but accepted his red panda plushie and blankie just the same.
Serizawa took my hand, and led me to the front of the car, buckling me in, and giving a kiss on the forehead. I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks, and he smiled, handing me my penguin plush and blankie.
Serizawa got in the driver's seat. "Okay, feel free to fall asleep on the way home, I can carry you to bed."
"I'm not falling asleep!" Reigen exclaimed, kicking his feet.
"Me neither!"
Within 5 minutes, we were both asleep.
Serizawa parked the car, contemplating the situation for a moment. He could feel his chest fill with warmth, but he also felt slightly uneasy at how he was going to get two sleeping people inside. Eventually, by some miracle, he managed to pick us both up. On the walk into our home, we stirred awake, and Serizawa helped us step by step get ready for bed.
When we finally got into bed together, Reigen sat up straight. "I'm not tired!" he whined.
Serizawa blinked in disbelief. "Really? You were asleep just a few minutes ago."
Reigen shook his head, and I rolled my eyes.
"Alright, would a bedtime story help?"
Reigen and I nodded.
He got up out of bed, and pulled a book off the bookshelf. He settled into bed again, wrapping his arms around us both. I rested my head on his chest. I grabbed Reigen's hand, and held it, across Serizawa.
"Alright… are you ready?"
Reigen let out a big yawn, and I nodded against Serizawa's chest.
"Okay. This one is called, Snuggle up, sleepy ones…"
