Back on that post about Elmo's sad twitter adventure, I gave a shout-out Joan Ganz Cooney, the main brain behind the creation of Sesame Street, and one of the first women to work as Executive Producer in American TV.
And that got me thinking about this 1971 Sesame Street song. Each one of the "J" friends sung about are people involved with the show.
Joe = Joe Raposo, wrote the theme song
Jane = Jane Henson, Jim Henson's wife (and I think it's really sweet that he sings her verse)
Jim = Jim Henson
Joan = Joan Ganz Cooney
And the song was written by a fifth "J": Jeff Moss

inspired by ernie’s darling song ‘i don’t want to live on the moon,’ about not wanting to leave his friends, even hypothetically. well, this time he gets to take his roomie with him! this one is watercolor and crayola twistables, my favorite sesame street art yet :’)

kermit the frog will never be a white man to me. he did not have an entire song about struggling to accept the color of his skin for you to assume this about him

A Sesame Street rendition of a VeggieTales song, "Sneeze If You Need To". It's up to Doctor Ernie to help Bert with his sneezing problem, and he does so through many attempts in song.

Classic Sesame Street songs that hit harder than they have any right to (2 / ??)
[Muppet] eye contact. Proper closed captions in English.
I've often thought this song would work well for a Doctor Who fanvid, particularly for classic era Companion Departures.

Muppet Mainstage, February 5th, 2024
“Do You Like Me?” was written by Philip Namanworth for season 10 of Sesame Street (1979). In this song, Ernie (Jim Henson) wakes Bert (Frank Oz) up in the middle of the night to get reassurance that Bert still likes Ernie even when he does things wrong.

i know not everyone at work knows my Tragic Backstroy, but it is always amusing to me when someone mentions something about one of my performance skills and I’m like “yea man, I’m a classically trained vocalist/actor” and they’re like “wat”
