More Teen Wolf thoughts
So I knew next to nothing about Teen Wolf when I started watching it last week. I basically just didn't interact with any fandoms when it was live and so I'm coming in without any kind of preconceived notions of who/what the good character/ships/storylines etc other than the movie sucks and I shouldn't watch it. I was also vaguely aware that Ste/rek and Stydia were fandom things.
After watching it, I scrolled through an obscene amount of tumblr stuff related to TW and I truly have to wonder if we watched the same show.
Again, it's a very different viewing experience for me because I didn't have gaps between seasons where I could theorize, over-analyze, etc. I'm also older than the target audience so like that could probably affect how I view things too.
I'll also add that my own relationship had a similar trajectory to Stydia. My partner had a crush on me while I was literally engaged to someone else and we barely knew each other, but then we had a deep friendship form over time. By the time my last relationship ended, his crush had changed to genuine love and my friendship evolved to something romantic. We've been together now over a decade.
So with all that said, here's Stydia thought: I am truly BAFFLED by the fact that people think Stydia getting together was fan service. (More under cut)
Note: I have zero interest in debating or arguing, which is why I'm hoping this won't come up in other ship tags. If you feel the need to argue, just move along because I'll either ignore you or block you. These are just my thoughts - it's not that deep.
I admit I absolutely fell in love with Stydia. I am an absolute sucker for good friends to lovers, detective duos, etc so they were *Chef's kiss* to me.
That said, I'm more than capable of separating my feelings about a ship from a story. So when people say that Stydia was forced together, I'm just kind of dumbfounded since I thought it was literally the only well-written ship in the entire show.
When we start, obviously we have Stiles obsessing over an image of Lydia in his head. But even still, he was never into her popularity or anything like that - he was into the person she was at the core, even when she kept it hidden.
Then they became friends over the course of the next few seasons and Stiles fell in love with her in a different way. He got to know her better and his feelings only deepened. However, she was with other people so he tried to force himself to move on. This is very normal in high school especially.
I did not like the Sta/lia relationship, mostly because I thought Malia deserved a lot better than someone who was clearly still into someone else, but I'm not going to get into that here.
We have canon proof that Stiles was STILL INTO Lydia during season 4&5. So much so that Kira, new to the group and mostly only around post-Malia getting involved, picked up on it: "He still likes her, doesn't he?" "Yeah, but it’s different now." "Stiles was the only one who knew." "He paid attention. He listened to her. He remembered."
Stiles is constantly the one whose main priority is getting her out of Eichen House. He storms in and doesn't give a shit about self-preservation as long as he gets to Lydia and gets her out.
He breaks through his bonds when she's about to be injected.
The camera constantly focuses on their hand touches with each other - whether it's in the hospital, the care with which they constantly stroke each other's face, etc. When Melissa was about to inject Lydia in the neck, she told Stiles specifically to hold her hand - even though he has a fear of needles.
Both of them essentially brought the other back from the dead through their connection.
When he sees her hurt or about to be hurt, it goes back to "I would go out of my freaking mind" - and he does.
Stiles was in love with her for nearly a decade. That doesn't just go away in a few months.
Now, for Lydia, we have her focused on Stiles above all else. He's the one she calls when she's in trouble or upset. She goes to him for comfort. "Stiles saved me."
Whenever there's a Stalia moment and Lydia is around, the camera goes to her for reactions. What comes to mind immediately is in the Mexico car scene where Malia says she'd come back for Stiles.
Now, any of these things individually you could say are just friendship things - and you'd be correct. Above everything, they are friends. Probably best friends. But their bond goes so much deeper than that. Both of them needed that basis of friendship before they could fall into a truly deep love for each other - and that's what we see in season 6.
So yeah, I'm not sure where people are getting the idea that it was out of the blue. It's clearly been built up over seasons and while it *could* have stayed as just very good friends, that wasn't the story they were telling. I'll concede that s6 was kind screwed up because of DOB's filming and injuries but it still wasn't out of the blue.

hello the randomizer has picked these 5 questions for Rhystyl 🚆 TRAIN - what is their answer to the trolley problem? 💙 BLUE HEART - do they miss their s/o easily? how do they act when their s/o isn't around? ⚾ BASEBALL - can they play sports? what is their best position if they play a team sport? what's their strong suit (speed, power etc.)? 💡 LIGHTBULB - is your oc a planner? do they write down every small detail or just wing it? 👻 GHOST - do they believe in ghosts? what are their "ghostly experiences", if any?
"I'm sure some of these won't be too long" she said, like a complete fool. As if I haven't been dealing with Tyr's bullshit for like a year, why would I expect any of my children to be different? Also I have so much Rhyst lore that lives solely in my head so far, so thank you for finally giving me a bit of a release valve for some of it, lol.
[Emoji OC Asks!]
Tumblr media
🚆 TRAIN - what is their answer to the trolley problem?
In essence, he has to face a trolley problem equivalent on Belsavis. Of course, Rhyst would have loved to avoid ever having to make such a choice and he’d honestly probably loathe the thing posed solely as a thought experiment because there’s no version of this in which he doesn’t feel some level of guilt and he deals with plenty enough of it as it is without adding ‘theoretical guilt’ onto the pile.
He’s not proud to say Scourge at his shoulder rather consistently reminding him that Krannus was abusing his nature as a Jedi to lay traps and delays in his path got to him, but when the good doctor explains that a reactor failure on Belsavis would decimate the entire system and not only the planet, the weight is finally enough to sway Rhyst’s heavy heart. He’s but one Jedi trying to take on multiple failsafe plots to destroy an entire planet and fuel one of the most evil and powerful entities in the galaxy and training teaches them that attachment to one life over the good of the many is wrong. It’s on that reasoning that he leaves the doctor behind with an apology in the deep prison sector. If Krannus gained any more ground on them and he failed in his mission, well… There’s little use in saying he’d never be able to live with the guilt because none of them would’ve had the opportunity. Instead, he’ll have to live with the doctor’s uncertain fate weighing on top of the damage he did to Republic forces and interests while under the Emperor’s influence.
As an aside, I imagine he tried to pull a favor out of Special Forces and send someone looking for the doctor, but with how widespread the riots and troubles are on Belsavis, Republic forces are already spread thin. Rhyst doesn’t have the heart to protest too heavily when the rebuke comes that it’s unfortunate, but it’s resources the Republic is unlikely to have available to spare. Scourge remains sharp at his shoulder to remind him their fight against the Emperor will not wait. They must make their leave while they can.
💙 BLUE HEART - do they miss their s/o easily? how do they act when their s/o isn't around?
First, to establish some info about his relationships in the first place! Kira and Rhyst finish their training together and get Knighted around the same time; Maltaf shoulders finishing Kira’s training in tandem with Rhyst’s to accommodate Master Kiwiik’s assignment and her eventual recovery from Tatooine. It’s a somewhat unusual arrangement, but the pressures of such large-scale threats have affected the pacing and proctoring of training before and they are all certain it will do so again.
That established, him and Kira do start to experiment together. Kira taps into Rhyst’s lighter side and helps pull his head out of the every-growing weight of their responsibilities. She’s an incredibly important link in his support network. They share the struggle of figuring out who they are as both people and Jedi. He’s not always as certain as her about exactly where their relationship is going, but, in the end, he does know he values her as a friend and the world’s a lighter, somewhat brighter place when she hits him with a smile and a “tough guy” quip.
He tends to be a bit more reserved whenever she’s not at his side, but they’re more than capable of operating independently and Rhyst tries to for a time after everything that transpires on the Fortress and his time under the Emperor’s influence. He pushes her away for a time, struggling to wrangle with a tangled mess of guilt, fear, and renewed doubts about his place in the Order and the kind of responsibilities the Council seemed to almost carelessly entrust to him because he’s not quite sure he’s ready to share that vulnerability and in no way does he want to destabilize her again, either. Eventually, however, she pulls him back, gently tracing the new scar across his cheek from his duel with Master Maltaf to reassure him he’s not alone, that she doesn’t hold him alone responsible for the fall. He believed in her, after all. Now she’s going to return the favor.
Furthermore, I believe they do benefit from time apart when Zakuul invades, even if it is difficult. They both benefit from the space to face their inner uncertainties separately and reaffirm their own identities before they become more seriously involved. Their relationship during the class stories has its tender moments for sure, but they are young lovers and it’s reflected in the nature of their relationship. Rhyst doesn’t turn her away, but given the burdens they weather, he’s not in the right place to give her or ask for something more until they’ve got a bit more growth and experience under their belts.
Still, their returns from time apart on separate missions is usually met in a playful kiss and Kira scooped up into his arms. And usually plenty of light jesting on Kira’s part.
⚾ BASEBALL - can they play sports? what is their best position if they play a team sport? what's their strong suit (speed, power etc.)?
It’s not his favorite hobby, but he wouldn’t mind casually playing with some friends. His favored role would likely be in some sort of support position where he can rally teammates and watch their backs.
While Maltaf was key to teaching him the tactics and philosophies of the Jedi Shadows, Satia was his primary teacher on saber techniques and imparted her coordination and efficiency with a dual-bladed saber upon him. In short, he’s got good footwork and he’s a cooperative sort, which makes playing on a team a far smoother endeavor.
💡 LIGHTBULB - is your oc a planner? do they write down every small detail or just wing it?
Not particularly. While somewhat inquisitive, he’s not a deep-diver when it comes to planning or researching. Maltaf taught him to trust in his feelings, explore them, and ultimately follow his heart. I wouldn’t put him too strongly on either end of the spectrum; he’s not as detail-heavy as Satia, nor is he quite as impulsive as Kira can be. Rhyst likes to know what is expected of him, but he doesn’t want to be so mired in minute details that it’s difficult to finally act.
👻 GHOST - do they believe in ghosts? what are their "ghostly experiences", if any?
While Maltaf became his primary master, Master Orgus Din still played a role in his training and it is partly his influence after his fall that allows Maltaf and Satia the opening they need to free him from the Emperor’s influence. Rhyst’s skill with the Force is fairly moderate, allowing him occasional visions of what may come to pass and aiding his perception during combat, allowing for betting dodging and acrobatic strikes. The concept of the Force and the universe having a greater will is certainly a large one for him to wrangle, but he doesn’t doubt that it certainly seems it does, sometimes. It’d seem a bit ridiculous if he didn’t considering what he owes Orgus and Satia for breaking through the Emperor’s Darkness or even seeing what eventually becomes of Revan with his own eyes.

Memories regained: why did Light scream when Misa didn’t?
Tumblr media
I saw this question come up in a sidenote in someone’s meta about Misa. Unfortunately I can’t remember what the meta was... BUT... ever since then I’ve been thinking about it. The interpretation that had been given in that other meta was that it was evidence of that Misa and Light were people with two very different histories and mentalities. This is true, obviously, but the more I thought about it, the more I began to wonder whether the differences in those scenes could be attributed to the particulars of the scenes themselves.
The thing is, Light screamed because he was *finding out that he was Kira.* Without his memories, he hadn’t approved of Kira at all, although he’d recognized that Kira acted with a mentality that was familiar to him. Misa, of course, revered Kira, so finding out she was Kira was something positive to her.
But Misa also... didn’t *learn* that she was Kira in the scene where she got her memories back. She already knew that. The scene where Misa discovered that she wasn’t who she thought she’d been all this time was the one in the bathroom with Rem. In chapter 47, she sees Rem, and her initial reaction is similar to anyone’s on seeing a shinigami for the first time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In chapter 48, Rem explains everything to her, and Misa comes to believe her. She’s still visibly shaken throughout the entire conversation, though. Even when she admits that Light being Kira would be awesome, you have this look at her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which makes it hard to believe that what Misa is feeling here is some kind of unfettered joy. In fact, we never actually see Misa’s *unfiltered* reaction to knowing that she’s Kira. Not only does she learn that Light (who she loves) is Kira before she ever learns it about herself, but she’s also faced with a stranger, a dangerous shinigami who she doesn’t know if she can trust, but who obviously expects something from her. She’s performing. I find it really interesting to parallel it with Light & Ryuk’s first meeting, because here you see both Light and Misa in similar situations, reacting in incredibly similar ways.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can visibly see Light trying to pull himself together and regain the upper hand. Misa’s doing the same thing when faced with Rem. And by the time Misa got to the death note, she already knew basically what she would be remembering. But Light was in for a shock. He’d heard Ryuzaki’s theory about him being Kira, but it had never been confirmed. All of a sudden, though, he’s remembering things about himself that are completely horrific. Of course he screams.
And I think it’s quite possible, if Misa had gotten her memories back unprompted, by touching a death note without advance warning, that she might scream too. But we’ll never know.

If Sam were suddenly transported in Teen Wolf how do you think that’d go?
ohh!! good question, thank you!!
i think that would be so funny first and foremost! i’m p sure stiles has read comics? it’s hinted at once i think? and while there’s a general knowledge of the flash, the rouges gallery for him is usually only known by fans, so recognizing sam is probably only gonna be done by stiles … at first.
so, sam, transported to another dimension where meta humans don’t exist, and all her friends/associates are fictional characters? she’s gonna go the only thing she can, blend in. miss grifter is going back to high school.
she’s not gonna change her name, so when stiles here’s it, he definitely decides to stalk her for a bit (Scott: you’re chasing around a girl bc she has the same name as a character you like? I’m a werewolf and I think that’s insane) and then he catches her using her powers … immediately starts theorizing. Scott: she is not a comic book character. Sam, when confronted: i am a comic book character.
Then on, it’s sam helping and the rest of the pack trying to help sam get home (sam reading the comics: it didn’t go down like this). i’m picturing around s2 era, but i’d be fun if sam stuck around till kira showed up! doppelgängers! (even more fun mystery with what kira is!). actually, i think kira would be the key to sam getting home! bc kitsunes are mischievous in folklore, i’d imagine maybe it was one from the comics that transported sam, and one could send her home! (did we ever find out what type kiras mom was?)

can we hear more abt the annual captain/lieutenant retreat & how other squads do in the three legged race?
This is in reference to a throw-away joke I did in this post about the management of Squad 13.
So, I said that Rukia and Juushirou did not have a great showing, but they also did not humiliate themselves. The main problem was that, Rukia assumed that it would be pretty easy to synchronize with her captain because he's almost exactly the same size as Renji, without recognizing how much of the heavy lifting Renji does whenever they do sick combos.
Let's back up. After the Winter War, there was a lot of concern, both in and out of the Gotei, that three captains had carried on a century-long conspiracy and no one noticed, and no one knew what each other's zanpakutou did and half the lieutenants couldn't complete a "match each captain to their lieutenant" quiz. Also, there were some new guys. Sasakibe had the brilliant idea of holding the First Annual Captain/Lieutenant retreat, where they would all go to some scenic part of Rukongai and do team-building exercises. Yamamoto only agreed to this because he did not think he would have to go and was very upset when he found out he did. In any case, he only participated in the events he was interested in (namely the karaoke).
Sasakibe held an optional planning session where any captain or lieutenant who wanted to could participate. The only people who showed up were Nanao, Komamura, Momo and Renji (because Byakuya ordered him to).
The actual primary activities that took place were drinking and being hungover. There was a lot of speculation as to hook-ups that may or may not have taken place, but it was nearly entirely incorrect.
The three-legged race took place about the middle of the week. The night before, Renji and Iba, who were both very drunk at the time, got into a bout of intense trash talk re: the race. Simultaneously, Byakuya and Soi Fon, who were both stone sober, also got started talking smack about each other's speed. (Note: shunpo was not permitted the three-legged race). As a result, Squads 2, 6, and 7 all spent the next morning doing intense training montages. Now, you might think, that Byakuya and Renji might have a strong advantage, given that they had landed themselves in the soup on this one, plus there are only 3 inches of height difference between them, rather than 24 or jesus, 40, (wtf Komamura??). You would, however, be underestimating how hyped Komamura gets for his lieutenant's enthusiasm and how much Omaeda fears Soi Fon.
It probably would have been a pretty decent race, except that Shinji decided that it would probably compensate their height difference if Momo faced forward and he walked backwards. As Momo said, "that sounds like some bull hockey, sir", but she went along with it, because why not? It was, unfortunately, incredibly effective. Too effective. Everyone had to line up in Squad order, of course, so Byakuya had this great plan that he was going to swerve to the left soon out of the gate so they didn't risk running into Team Wide Load to their right. He greatly underestimated how fast Shinji can walk backwards and he and Renji ended up wiping out so hard that they took both Squads 5 and 7 out with them.
Squad 2 won so hard.
In case you're wondering how the rest of the field went:
Second place went to Squad 4, who also managed to look extremely graceful in the process.
Rose came up with this elaborate, dance-based movement scheme that he felt would coordinate his and Kira's movements. They came in third, much to Kira's embarrassment.
Fourth was Squad 10. They probably could have done better, but they weren't trying and also, Matsumoto was very hungover.
Mayuri didn't want to participate, but they made him. Nemu is obviously capable of matching his stride length perfectly, but he refused to walk faster than his normal walking pace. Please keep this in mind: Mayuri's normal walking pace snagged fifth place.
Kensei had to have a lieutenant tied to either side of him. Since he and Shuuhei are nearly exactly the same height, it probably would have made sense for Mashiro to try to double step and match them, but Kensei can't make Mashiro do shit. They ended up serpentining across the field about six times before they finally made it to the finish.
Kyouraku doesn't like to walk fast. Nanao was unexpectedly hungover. Seventh.
Squad 11 (Kenpachi tied Yachiru to his thigh, everyone just let him have this) had a great start, but had to dodge around Squad 8 and ended up running off the side of the field. They showed back up two days later.
Squad 13 was the last squad to actually finish, which meant that everyone stood around and watched them. Even the teams that ate shit at the beginning were prying themselves out of the dirt by this point. No one laughed at them because everyone loves Ukitake and because Rukia had pasted everyone in the lieutenants' division of the arm-wrestling contest on the first day.

The Pull (106/?)
Summary: The Ragnulf’s are one of the oldest lines of werewolves known. A gift from ancient times was gifted to them. Though not all of the line will experience it. There are some who will experience a Pull. This Pull leads them to their true mate, a soulmate. The problem is, just because the wolf finds their true mate does not mean that they are the same for that person.
Author: @lettersofwrittencollective
Pairing: Stiles x Hale!Cousin OC (Reader)
Word count:  2336
Warnings: i think this is just angst at this point? But also not really??
Additional A/N: If  you see *** at any point this means that there is a POV and /or location change (like a scene change in a show) and this is a thing that is going to be going on going forward, okay thanks!

Derek had taken the group of you to the loft, letting you get cleaned up. You were grateful that he’d done so because it meant that you were able to get out of the gasoline drenched clothing .
Derek had pulled you to the side while Scott and the pack tried to decide what to do about the now apparently everywhere Deadpool and informed you that he was reaching out to Aaric and your dad.
“And what exactly do you think that’s going to accomplish?” you growl at Derek, “You’re here, Peter’s here...Stiles’ Dad is-”
“It’s going to keep you alive!” Derek cuts you off, hissing at you,  “It’s going to keep the others alive,” Derek points out, your growling having absolutely no effect on him. “In case you hadn’t noticed, you were almost lit on fire earlier.”
You’re about to bite back at Derek that this was entirely not his call. These weren’t your family's lands to protect and for you to call in your father would be an insult that Scott might not understand now… but the rest of the supernatural world would… and eventually, so would he… This was Scott’s home but before you could say anything else, Scott’s telling all of you, “Kira found Brett,”
“Wait, Kira’s back?” you question and he nods his head. You’re happy to hear she’s here and honestly can’t wait till you get to see her. Malia, thankfully, brings everyone back on track. “Well is he okay?”
“They’re fine,” Scott answers, “But we’ve got to go.”
Malia nods her head and immediately makes her way out of the loft. You’re about to follow but the pups voice catches your attention and makes you stop.
“More assassins?” he’s asking and you can hear the waver in his voice. When Scott confirms that there might be a lot more, he clarifies, “and they’re different than the ones who just tried to set us on fire?”
“Pup,” you call out as you take a step towards him and Liam’s eyes turn to you. They’re glassy and worried and if the sight of them alone hadn’t been enough to break your heart, Liam’s next words do.
With a shake of his head, he tells you, “I’m not like you guys and I don’t mean I’m not strong or I’m never gonna learn how to be in control I mean everything else. You guys… you all try to protect everyone. Have you been doing that the whole time?”
You don’t answer him because if you’re being honest, this isn’t how you were at home. It’s not that you didn’t have troubles at home… it was that you had a pack that could protect your home. There were people in your pack that were designated to take care of the kinds of problems you’d been running into since coming to Beacon Hills. What Scott… what Scott, Stiles, Lydia, Derek... and Ali… What they’ve been doing since before you met them was insane if you thought about it.
“How are you all still alive?” the pups voice breaks you out of your thoughts.
“Not all of are,” Scott answers, making your breath catch in your throat and you know that he’s thinking of Alli and of Aiden… and how they haven’t gotten through the last few years without losses. You haven’t gotten out without losses.
If Aaric hadn’t been there… well things could have been worse. You turn to look at Derek who’s giving you a very pointed look and you realize that if you don’t tell your dad and Aaric and Ro… if you don’t ask for help… any more deaths are on your hands.
Nodding your head, you hear Scott offer to take Liam home when you get a text from Lydia telling you ta call her immediately.
***
“I’m completely and totally fine,” Stiles points out to Melissa as he tries to step past her.
“Uh-uh-uh.” Melissa tells him as she steps back into the doorway and puts her hands up, stopping him in his tracks, “You completely and totally have a concussion, Stiles. Lie back down. The doctor said you're not leaving without a CT scan.
“We still haven’t paid for the last one,” he points out.
Melissa’s face scrunches in confusion and she shakes her head, “Yes you have.”
“What? No, we haven’t,” Stiles counters but before he can counter there’s another voice. One that makes his heart soar.
“It’s been taken care of… either way you’re staying here Sti,” Natasha’s voice grumbles at him as she walks up behind Melissa.
“But what about-”
“Your dad’s got Meredith at the station,” she tells him as Melissa moves slightly so that Tasha can step into the room, kissing him softly, his arms immediately wrapping themselves around her, before she continues, “He said it could take some time to get her to talk and Lydia has promised that as soon as she does talk, she’ll call us.”
“Well finally,” Melissa’s voice pulls his attention and he sees the woman he considers a mother smiling at the two of them with a hand on her hip and a knowing smile stretched across her lips. She turns her attention directly to Stiles and points out, “So even if I let you go, what would you do?”
He wants to argue but knows he’s not gonna get away with it. Sighing, he agrees, “Okay fine. But can you do me one little favor?”
“Anything,” Melissa immediately answers and he asks her for a tape player.
“Tape player?” he hears Tasha ask as Melissa clarifies, “ Like cassettes?”
“Yes. Tapes,” Stiles confirms with a nod of his head and Melissa tells him she’ll see what she can do before heading out, closing the door behind her.
“Why do you need a cassette player?” Tasha asks as he feels her hands come up on either side of his neck. Biting back a groan, he glances down and sees her face scrunched in concentration.
“Lobita,” he groans, the nickname falling from his lips almost like second nature, and is rewarded with her sparkling lavender eyes snapping up to his, “What are you doing?”
“Making sure you’re okay,” she answers like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
“That I’m okay?” he clarifies and she nods her head at him.
“Lydia said that Brunski was an ass... Apparently, he punched you?”
“He did,” he confirms for her.
Her hand comes up to cup the side of his face and Stiles can feel himself practically melt into her. Her thumb is trailing along his skin soothingly before he smiles and turns to kiss the inside of her palm.
“What happened with Jax?” he asks her and he can feel her stiffen against him. He can feel himself begin to worry that maybe, just maybe, she had changed her mind but then- she had kissed him when she came in.
Natasha pulled away from him slightly, but only her body, keeping her arms wrapped around him an he watched as she bit at her lip for a moment.
“Alright, good news is that Jax gets it,  apparently he expected it,” she begins and Stiles is about to ask why she seems so worried but she moves a hand to his lips, “But I have to tell you something.”
You tell him about
***
Lydia’s at the station waiting for Noah to finish the interview with Meredith. She’s not entirely sure what she expects to happen or how she expects the evening to go but the reality is that they need answers.
Biting at her nails, she begins to do the math.
Really, they’re a bunch of kids that are going up a bunch of assassins. She wonders if, perhaps, she should talk to Natasha about reaching out to her dad. Surely the Ragnulf’s would be willing to help them… right?
She see’s Noah walking out of his office and immediately makes her way over, “What did she say?”
“Hard to tell…” he answers, “There were words. I’m not sure there were actual sentences.”
“Nothing…” Lydia sighs in frustration .
“I think we need a psychologist,” he hears Sheriff mutters, “Or a medium.”
Lydia’s tempted to laugh because really, what has her world become? Instead, she just scoffs,  “Is she even competent enough to be charged with anything?”
“Hey!” she hears Noah scold her, “If Meredith is The Benefactor, then that means she was competent enough to trick Kate into opening the Hale Vault, competent enough to blackmail Brunski into helping her, and competent enough to create a hit list and pay out money for it’s completion - demanding proof. Girls practically a criminal mastermind.”
Pulling her phone out, she calls Natasha who answers pretty instantly, “Whats up Lyds?”
“Nothing… she’s.. She’s not talking,” Lydia answers the brunette.
“She’s not giving you anything? Not even a reason?” Natasha’s voice comes through the phone.
Stiles’ chuckle comes through the phone before he speaks up, “Dad’s only gonna be interested in the ‘why’ if it tells him the ‘how.’”
“You mean how to stop it?” Lydia clarifies and she watches Sheriff nod his head.
He must realize that Natasha and Stiles can’t see him because he points out, “Exactly and after what happened to Tasha, Scott and the others… this thing’s still going. The payments could be automatic. And as long as the killers are getting paid, and paid very well, that list is gonna keep getting smaller.”
“So we don’t need to just stop the Dead Pool…” Natasha begins before Stiles finishes, “We gotta stop the money.”
***
Scott parks his bike before he jumps off and is rushing in to the clinic. Kira must hear him because a moment later she’s at the reception area.
Scott can feel the relief at having her in front of him, safe. Pulling her into his arms he kisses her for all that he’s worth. Pulling away from her, he cups her face and moves a stray piece of hair behind her ear, “Is your mom…”
“Safe,” she answers, instantly, “Healing.”
“What about you?” he asks and Kira gives him a questioning look, confusion evident in her face and her scent so he clarifies, “Are you okay?”
“Right now? Very…” Kira replies before she’s pressing her lips to his again and Scotts grateful to have her here.  To have her in his arms but a moment later, he remembers why he’s here and he forces himself to focus on that, “Did you find him? Did you find Brett?”
“Actually… I think I found all of them,” she tells him as she leads him to teh back of the office. As they near it, she calls out, “Satomi, this is who I was telling you about.”
“I know who Scott McCall is,” Satomi answers as he and Kira enter the back room. The other Alpha’s eyes heavy on him.
For the first time since he’s been faced with another Alpha, he feels liek the hairs on the back of his neck want to stand up and he feels like a part of him is somehow… more alert.
“Are we safe here?” a voice asks and Scott glances around, realizing that he’s actually surrounded by a multitude of other wolves. Most of the beta’s from the scent of it. Somehow he knows that none of them are warriors.
“We’re gonna need help,” he realizes, “A lot of help”
***
Throwing the guardsman into the door, they wait for half a beat before stepping into the old shipping house.
Argents got his gun ready and when he feels a body behind him he hits them with the butt of his gun, by the sound of it he connects with the head which means they’ll be out cold.
He hears Alarics low growl before the man beside him has moved to a wall. The man seems to be inspectiing it for half a second before he slams hsi hand through it, effectively smashing the wall and pulling out two more men.
He’s grabbed each of the men by their necks and is lifting them so that their feet are dangling in the air as they seem to scratch atAlaric’s hands.
“Alaric,” Chris calls out as he sees the older man moving his arms apart. He can hear the other man scoff as he slames the two bodies into each other, knocking them both out.
“They’ll be fine,” Alaric points out, “A headache like a bitch but they’re not dead.”
Chuckling softly, Argent shakes his head before making his way over to one of the doors.
Getting here had been a bitch in and of itself, the place was damn near impenetrable. At least it would have been if it hadn’t been for Alaric’s skills and his combined.  They had gotten in and now they just had to find the damn thing,
Opening the sliding door, he nodded his head, “Found it.”
Row and row upon different plans lined the place. Most of it was wolfsbane but there was also Lilies, Sago Palm, Narcissus Bulbs, Azalea, Oleander, Cyclamen, Yew, Amaryllis and many others that he knew could be used to harm supernatural creatures
“Some of these are lethal,” Alarics voice spoke up and Argent nodded his head.
“You know if we get rid of this, “ Argent points out, “More’ll just pop up. Security will be tighter.”
“Don’t matter,” Alaric answers him with an affirmative humm, “We’ll take those out too. The Albini haven’t scared us before and we won’t start now. Grab the wolfsbane.”
Argent makes his way towards the plant.
The Ragnulfs had a plan. Apparently there was an idea for possibly using the plant to find a way to either innoculate against it or engineer some kind of… some kind of way to fight it.
Grabbing the yellow plant he tucks it away so they can get it back to the Ragnulf compound.
He’s going to ask to hold onto some… there are, after all, even some wolves the Ragnulfs will hunt down and he’s sure they won't deny him fault him for it.

Hi so about the request for the Light x L sister reader it can be Normal it doesn’t have to be Yandere is that okay ? 😀

TYPE- oneshot (1.2k) THEATER- a STARRING- yagami light NOTE- k so like i lowkey had sm fun with this and i rlly loved this but like it’s the first thing that’s over 500 words that ive written in awhile so if it sucks omg im sorry. i left the ending up to imagination,, did they kiss or pull away or 👩‍🦯 anyway as u should y/n for not being a toy ur an independent woman period 💪💪
Tumblr media
lightning cracked as the rain poured down, bouncing off the sides of y/n’s umbrella. something about the air was grim. well, at least that was what y/n thought as the funeral music blared. a casket was brought out, the casket of her late brother, known as l. imagine attending the funeral of your own brother, who was without a doubt viciously murdered. murdered for being the one to step up and attempt to catch kira. it was something scarring that a sister should hope to never have to go through; the death of a brother. however y/n didn’t seem to mind. sure she had a depressed facade, her face blotchy from crocodile tears, but deep down, she was jumping for joy. with l gone, killed by kira himself, no doubt, kira could finally rise up. rise and lead the new world.
so y/n sniffled and cried, earning pitiful looks from the small group attending l’s funeral. all was right in her world, though it may not seem that way. but y/n had to admit, there was one thing she just couldn’t piece together.
how did kira kill her brother? it had obviously been with a heart attack, but kira allegedly needed a name and a face to kill. l had been more careful than any, so how did kira get to him? that much she doubted she’d ever know.
yet just as if the gods had been listening, something caught her eye. a man in the back. he looked to be about the same age as her brother. the man had fair looks, he seemed decent enough. however the thing that caught y/n’s eye the most, every moment that the man believed no one was looking at him,  his somber expression turned into a smirk. he was shaking, not from tears, but a silent laughter. it was almost as if he were gloating. right there at l’s funeral.
y/n was sharp, she was easily able to come up with a reason for his laughter. one that explained the very thing she had been wondering. how did kira kill her brother? something told her that this man had something to do with the matter.
the service ended soon after, y/n made sure to take her time, allowing everyone else to leave before her.  eventually, the only two left in the room were the man she now knew as light, and y/n herself. light seemed like he was stalling, suspiciously finding as many things to do as he could. tying his shoe for example, or taking a mint from his pocket.
y/n of course saw through him. he had to be kira, there was no other explanation. light must’ve finally killed l, and now he wanted a moment. just to taunt l because he had won. y/n understood that well enough.
walking over to him, she smiled and tapped his shoulder. this was it, y/n was finally meeting kira himself; someone she had supported since the very beginning. “i have to admit, i didn’t exactly expect to see my brother’s killer at his funeral, kira.” she said slowly, letting it sink in.
light jumped a little, turning around to face her. he was shocked for a moment, but his relaxed smile quickly resurfaced. “me? that’s silly, i’m not kira. l was my friend, i could never kill my friend!” he laughed a little.
y/n had to admit that he did sound convincing, like he was being truthful, however y/n could still tell that he was lying through his teeth. it takes one liar to know another. “you don’t have to hide it. i support kira, my brother got what was coming to him.” she smirked a little, laughing to herself for she could practically see the cogs turning in light’s head.
he was playing a dangerous game. what if he completely admitted to it, and it turned out to be a trick just so he would confess? she did seem sincere but he had to be careful. “ah i see,” he nodded his head, “and how did you come to that conclusion?”
“you laughed. you laughed in the middle of l’s funeral. either you’re mentally ill, or kira.” she stated, soundinng more and more confident. light cursed to himself under his breath, most likely having believed no one saw him. “observant. and what is it that you want from me? be careful what you say, i’m sure you know that i can kill you on the spot.” he grumbled, his innocent and charming persona fading.
“relax!” y/n said, giving light’s shoulder a pat, “i already told you, my brother got what he deserved. i’m simply happy with knowing who you are. and perhaps what your shinigami looks like if you’re feeling nice.” she flashed a smirk, pulling light in.
something told him that she was different. different from all the other people he had used. light had to remind himself that she was nothing but an asset, someone to be used in order for him to get what he wanted.
he nodded his head, not breaking eye contact with her as he brought a piece of paper from his pocket. before y/n could react, light brushed the paper across her hand, revealing the large shinigami floating beside him. “kira at your service.” he grimaced softly, watching the woman before him lock her eyes on the creature.
so, who would’ve guessed, that l’s little sister y/n had been supporting him the entire time. that discovery could’ve been useful weeks ago. light could’ve made ages of progress, he could’ve been one step closer to creating his new world.
“i think that you could be useful” he said blatantly, confused as to why she scoffed at such an offer. “useful? so are you planning to use me? if you are, i’d play your cards right. i may support you, but i won’t throw myself at you.” she stated, bringing her face dangerously close to light’s. y/n had expected the shocked reaction that quickly flashed upon his face. he was surely used to women being infatuated with him and selling him their souls.
however he recovered quickly, “is that so? well, one plan foiled i suppose.” neither of them spoke. both seemingly mesmerized by the other. finally y/n spoke up, “i’m not sure what you’re planning, but if you think that somehow i could help you, then i think that could be arranged.”
“and what is it that you want in return?” light shot back, still speaking quietly. “is it not enough to feel the satisfaction of helping a friend?” she inquired, in a teasing manner. something about the way she spoke, it made light feel differently. once again the idea that she was more than a tool entered his mind, but of course not. he would use her, and toss her aside when she was no longer of any worth. just as he did, and would eventually do to everyone else. there was no reason for her to be something more.
“hmm,” was the only thing he said, cupping her face in his hands. staring at her directly, their faces only inches from contact, “how interesting”

The Identity Crisis of The Boss: Who was the Original Personality?
Trish resembles Doppio more than Diavolo, down to hairstyle and freckles, and the fact that they were taken by a kindly priest, who would definitely not name his child after The Devil.
comments on the vid:
Another bit is that if we went with doppio being the original, diavolo would match his devil name much better, possessing human beings and hiding in a human "husk". I always thought that Diavolo and Doppio were a result of a vanishing/parasitic twin combo (which explains the pregnancy, two souls in "one" body as well as the design of King Crimson's faces). Bonus - the idea was explored in Steven King's "The Dark Half", who also named one of the major recurring villains (Crimson King) in his works after King Crimson the band's first album.
I always thought that Diavolo was actually King Crimson. There are stands in JoJo that have their own personalities, usually people with less stable mental states, like Mista. The interesting thing is that Trish is one of those people with a talking stand, and she's obviously Doppio's daughter, which could be drawing a parallel between the two. Perhaps when Doppio had a mental breakdown, he unlocked his stand, but since he is extremely unstable the stand had a potent personality that became part of Doppio's mental make up. King Crimson is simply a stand with a personality so independent he became a person. We've seen a stand that took over people's bodies before: Anubis. Anubis also had a personality and could control people like Diavolo. In some drawings in the manga(including one that is featured in the video several times), we see that Doppio's face has a King Crimson looking eye. Since Doppio is transforming and he can only transform into his other personality: Diavolo, it suggests that Diavolo and King Crimson are one in the same. It also explains why the secondary personality is in charge of the stand: he is the stand. And yes, he has to be in charge of the stand, since King Crimson came with Diavolo.
Doppio being the original personality makes perfect sense when you consider that Doppio is basically the worst choice imaginable for a person that could be used to hide from others. He makes ringing noises, assaults people for imaginary reasons (the cab driver and the photo) or to use their objects as phones (the girl with the ice cream), and in general seems to draw attention to himself wherever he goes. He's loyal to Diavolo but is also capable of forgetting his orders or disregarding them entirely such as when he encountered Risotto Nero. The ideal secondary personality for Diavolo would be someone like Kira that would be as equally obsessed with anonymity as he is. At the same time, Diavolo comes off as the type of person that Doppio would create if given the chance. Diavolo is strong, focused, in control, and absolutely determined to eliminate family members and the past so that the type of situation that happened when he met his mother never happens again.
I always tought it was obvious because that's how dissociation works, a person creates a new personality to cope with situations and most of the times the split personality is a "better" person in their eyes (most of the times it's just a "happier" person, them being all violent it's a myth, but it's true that sometimes they get avenger personalities to defend from a abusers).
Altough he may had a different name.

S3A - E9
The last episode took me Hours to get through with all my notes, let’s hope this one doesn’t hurt my fingers so bad.
My fingers hurt too much to come up with a clever pun so Read More:
Thoughts:
This is a dumb first bullet point, but I love Tara’s hair. It looks like it’s braided or something, then in a bun at the back? I like it.
What exactly was the reasoning for her walking into the school alone like this? Let alone going That far into it? If it’s a 911 call that she’s so nervous about she has her hand on her gun, then shouldn’t there be more than one officer??
ALSO, that seems like Very Bad routine procedure? You got a 911 call (but we get no explanation as to what it was FOR) and the first thing you say when you see someone is “Why are you here?” shouldn’t you be asking “Who made the 911 call?” And then you tell them to leave, and to tell anyone Else they see to leave. When they could easily SEE the person you’re wanting to aim a gun at and TELL them to leave because there’s a cop in the school.
So I’m torn between Julia being just that sick and wanting to terrify each of her sacrifices (which...she talks about them like she’s Genuinely sad she had to kill them, but it was necessary to save the world, so that doesn’t sit right with me?) or fear being a Necessary part of the ritual, like, that the sacrifices Couldn’t be willing?
Honestly, Lyds, that’s so smart and reasonable. “I had to have the weird blackout to get here. YOU get to go find the body.”
What was the point of the staging in the shower room if she was gonna get thrown onto the sign?? Why move her at all?
ALSO if this is supposed to be a threefold death, then didn’t she do it wrong? She killed Tara by strangulating her, but didn’t do the head bash or the throat until after she’d moved her body, for some reason??? Don’t they need to happen like..near the same time?
No to mention that there wouldn’t be much blood bc her throat was slit After death, so the blood wasn’t pumping. Even laying her down wouldn’t render a large amount. But they’re going for horror, so...i guess i’ll let it pass.
Why does it feel like Julia is going after people close to STiles specifically? First Heather, now Tara? And then his Dad? That’s a weird coincidence when she’s got the entire town to choose from.
Also, sheriff, i love you, but ‘they’re not going to get away with killing one of our own.” is a REALLY fucked up line. Police getting pissed ONLY when other Police are the ones killed is SO FUCKED UP. Logistically, police are FAR more likely to get killed than citizens are, aren’t they? They’re the ones that’re supposed to be running into danger? Like, Soldiers don’t Only get pissed when other soldiers are killed, right? It’s literally like...your job to be in potentially fatal situations? that’s not even my point! My point is that your line implies that law enforcement was Half-assing it before a cop got killed. half a dozen people have died, so Beacon Hills should be Swarming with cops, but for some reason the big guns don’t come in until a cop dies? Your phrasing sucks, Noah. Were you gonna let them get away with it if they killed everybody BUT the cops? I’m being sarcastic on that last bit, btw.
I’ll admit, it’s nice to get some actual SUNSHINE in CALIFORNIA
Is Chris letting Allison stay home because she saw a dead body? FOr as long as she wants? I’m so confused, she’s seen Much worse things, shouldn’t it like raise an alarm that she’s choosing NOW to stay home?
Your badassery is tainted by the fact that you’re wearing a dress and fishnets, Allison. If you’re gonna go hunting put on some pants. or shorts AT LEAST. that’s just not Practical.
I love how blatant a lie Stiles is telling Julia in class. “do you play?” “No, my father does” when we Know he plays, and besides if his dad plays then stiles MUSt because that’s a two person thing most of the time? But no, he doesn’t want Julia to know Shit about him.
the loyalty of Lydia not going near Aiden after learning he killed Boyd is SO refreshing. I TOLD you, if she knew Aiden was a murderer she’d never have gotten with him in the first place.
NOt Derek. CORA. MY BABE BONDS FAST. (I mean, she was locked in a bank vault with him for however long)
FIrst off, I love Stiles losing his shit. Second, the acting here is so sub-par, and it looks like a writer’s mistake. okay, so, in acting, interruption is an ART. You have to let someone say enough to get their line across, but INterrupt them before they can finish in a way that looks natural. And you have to make sure not to come in late or you get an awkward pause (this is more common with newbies bc experience actors don’t stop their line, they keep it going until you figure it out.) So like The line is ...And shove it up your freaking--” Now, Scott needs to interrupt without being late, otherwise, unless Stiles Continues the line, he’ll pause after saying ‘freaking’ and it’ll be noticeable. here, the way scott interrupts him feels So Wrong, in part because he let’s Stiles get so far into his threat.
Also, I’m fucking pissed that Scott is downplaying how angry Stiles is. “okay, we get it.” is just...a garbage way to respond to a friend who’s hurting and clearly on edge, thinking Ethan is threatening him.
Exactly How do you “Know” Ethan didn’t want to kill Boyd? You weren’t there, fuckface.
Is this set after school? They’re shouting their heads off and no one’s coming? Even Stiles was shouting about wolfsbane.
THAT IS NOT HOW ACTUAL WOLF PACKS WORK YOU FUCKER. THAT’S A GARBAGE MYTH.
Hearing Cora’s little gasp as her head hit the wall hurt my heart.
Normally I’d be pissed about the girl standing back and not doing anything, but Lydia would be ripped apart and I do not blame her for shouting from the sideline.
I don’t understand what the hell is going on with the Chris stuff. Like, I guess he’s supposed to be looking into it on his own, but that still doesn’t explain where he got the information on this very specific ritual.
But I do understand Allison’s hesitance to outright ask her father what the fuck he’s doing, since last time that happened she was taken to a chained up derek in an underground tunnel system. Finding out her family are monsters is kind of her entire life, unfortunately.
Honestly, fuck yes. Cora go off. Though, I’m sad that no one is mentioning Erica, like At All. You realize she ALSO died at the hands of the ALphas, right? why does no one mention her when they talk about getting revenge?
I...am not talking about this scene.
I gotta say that I enjoy the fact that Allison called Stiles. That’s just...that’s p cool. BUT while it’s cute that her contact picture is from her conversation with Stiles in s2, it’s weird bc it’s a screenshot of the show, and we know that Stiles wasn’t taking pictures at that moment. But the effort is sweet!
I will say that it’s interesting that Cora doesn’t fight Stiles about helping him with his dad. She just finished yelling at Scott, Lydia, and presumably Stiles, and she’s clearly unhappy with literally everyone but Derek, but she’s been very humoring of Stiles. In every scene together, even when she’s snarking at him, she’s not an Asshole.
This conversation with Morrell makes...no sense. Scott literally said in the last episode that good liars wouldn’t have jumping heartbeats when they lied. Then he immediately went to ask Morrell if she was the killer and believed her (even though she’s sketchy as fuck) just because her heart didn’t jump. Wtf?
“But if I kill someone, I can’t be a True Alpha, right?” WHO SAID THAT EVER? WHO TOLD YOU THAT? SINCE WHEN? WTF?
I don’t know if it was intentional (maybe they mention it, but i haven’t gotten that far) but technically having this history teacher disappear leaves an empty class for Kira’s dad to fill when she shows up. Which is neat.
I will forever be angry that Aiden is touching Lydia here. He shouldn’t be near her. And that’s not even me being cranky! She IS PISSED AT HIM. She was avoiding him before today and even then the only reason she went near him was to act as a distraction.
Also, again, I am amazed at Cora’s PATIENCE with Stiles here. Seriously, they’ve clearly been there for a while as Stiles tries to find the words, but Cora didn’t just get pissed stand up and say “I’m a werewolf. People are dying. Help.” She continued to wait for him to talk.
When does stiles rearrange his room? I swear in the beginning of this season it was still in the previous formation with the corner bed sticking out and the desk under the window. Now the desk is facing a totally different direction and his bed’s up against the wall. It’s great, but like, when does it happen? Isn’t this literally the second time we’ve seen his room the whole season?
that’s such a weird text. “Mr Westover Missing” like I don’t know if it’s from Lydia or Scott, but you’re allowed to add some detail? Your keystrokes aren’t limited and there are no government agencies watching your texts for information.
Oh, poor Cora. I honestly wasn’t expecting to bond with her so quickly when I first saw her, but there’s something about getting to see characters being calm that really helps me vibe with them? Like, when they’re nothing but Fight Fight Fight it’s hard to actually relate in any way, but when you actually get to see them talk or relax, then you worry about that being taken away from them.
However much I hate Isaac and everyone else Constantly saying “But I want Scott here. We should ask Scott, blah blah blah” I will say that it’s getting REALLY annoying that Allison’s entire personality is “I”m going to run in with almost zero backup bc I want to be powerful and strong, but then I have to be saved bc I refused to ask for help in the first place.”
Wtf do you mean ‘i’m not that good at this yet’ Isaac? You’ve been a werewolf for literally like 5 months, only like two months less than Scott, and you were LIVING with a born werewolf for that ENTIRE time.
Chris you were shooting at nothing for like two-thirds of that time. That was an empty room. ALSO, if you’ve been there the whole time, why did you wait until he was dead to come out shooting?
Chris yells “help Him” and you go run to stand next to his body without bothering to pull him off the cord around his neck? You realize he might not be completely dead right? Or is his throat already cut?
Also, I wanna note, it was daylight when Cora passed out. Now it’s dark! He went to the ER with her and STAYED with her. I get that people say STiles is kind of callous, but he Constantly goes out of his way for near strangers, and I don’t think that should be overlooked.
No youfcking wouldn’t have Chris, you had tons of time while they were using the garrotte and you just stood there. They came in just before the kill was done, and except for Tara Julia has been leaving people’s bodies where they fall so she wouldn’t left right after. You were NOT ‘this’ close.
Yeah, yeah, and you’re both fucking guilty of being incapable of conversation. Chris you are the adult here, fucking act like it. You had a million chances to confront your daughter and you didn’t. Apparently that’s a habit she picked up from you.
What are they talking about, Scott healing himself?? He was thrown back, he wasn’t injured. I literally just went back and rewatched that scene. He falls backward and he’s completely fine. Stiles, there are so many better instances you could point to. For example, things that actually Happened.
That line is never gonna not hurt.
Stop touching Danny. Stop being near Danny. You are a literal serial killer, get your hands off him. GOD. your brother literally said he would murder danny if he saw you with him anymore, why are you putting him in danger? FUck you.
.....okay, lydia’s speech was meaningful until she fucking turned it into scott worship. Why couldn’t you have stopped at letting her say “maybe I’ll find them before it happens” Why couldn’t it be about HER for once? Why did you have to make it about how everyone thinks sunshine comes out Scott’s ass even though he’s literally not done a single thing to warrant it. He hasn’t Saved Anyone. He hasn’t done Anything to warrant all this trust. Lydia wasn’t there when he made Derek kill Gerard. SHE was the one to save Jackson. And Scott was the one who had to be saved BOTH when Allison had to stitch him up and when Stiles had to go after him in the gasoline. Jackson is the one who saved Lydia when Peter went after her. Scott Didn’t save deaton, that was Noah. He wasn’t the one who killed Peter, that was a combination of Stiles and Jackson’s molotovs and Derek’s claws. Scott wasn’t even the one to protect Lydia when Derek and the pack went after her, that was Stiles, Allison, and Jackson. SHe had no idea that Scott was even THERE until she ran out of the house. Scott didn’t stop Matt, that was Allison’s family scaring him off and then Gerard killing him. THe only possible thing that could count was him saving the two little kids while Boyd and Cora were running around in the woods, and Lydia doesn’t even KNOW about that. Scott has canonically done NOTHING worth all this faith and ‘leader’ nonsense.
were...were they hinting at a Scott/Lydia relationship before they brought Kira in? Holding hands isn’t really a friend thing...?
That....is the softest most broken little ‘hey’ that I’ve ever heard and I’m Instantly on the verge of tears, holy shit.
Derek, honey, what do you mean ‘not again’? You’ve never left Cora, unless you count moving to New York with Laura and Cora was in South America! This line would make so much more sense if they’d given us Any idea what happened to Cora after the fire.
Normally, i’d be annoyed that Melissa is just ignoring the laws about paperwork. I’d even be annoyed that she did it for the Sheriff. BUT, Melissa is in the know about the supernatural and she KNOWS that the murders are supernatural. I’m sorry but Supernatural needs trump human laws. Melissa is totally a boss for this.
EYYYY actual druid (specifically magician druids) thing they got right (though i’m not sure it was on purpose). Magician Druids were Very Well Known for their nature magic. For causing storms and droughts and high winds and fog. The building storm around the school is like, Peak magician magic.
God, it really....it really grinds my gears watching Isaac’s progression toward the most abuse he can find. You notice how, in season 2 when Derek was attacking the Betas on the regular and doing awful shit like breaking Isaac’s hands, Isaac was loyal as Fuck to him? (right up until randomly going to Scott to decide whether to leave town) Then, this season, we start off with Derek being pretty fucking gentle, there’s no indication that he’s been continuing the abuse. Isaac questions his command and Derek’s response is ‘do you trust me?’ to which Isaac easily says yes. In fact, Isaac asks Derek to be the one to hurt him for the memory seeking thing, and Derek refuses because he wants to do what’s Safer for Isaac. Then he throws the glass and Isaac bails bc it’s a direct reminder of what his dad did. Only he goes to Scott, who was incredibly violent toward him in the previous season. (And who we know will be violent toward him in the future as well) But the only time he lists away from Scott, is to go after Allison, who Tackled him to the ground and held a knife to his throat, and whose father inherently hates werewolves and is a constant danger to him. Yet he never goes in the direction of people who Haven’t hurt him. He could go to Deaton, who’d taught him the pain-drain thing and was nothing but kind to him in that short time. He could’ve gone to Boyd after Derek’s lashing out, his pack member, who would never hurt him. Hell, he hates Stiles’ guts, but he could still have gone to him. Stiles was the one to help Derek free him from Jail after all, and he’s not wanted anymore so Noah wouldn’t have anything against him. Stiles may have threatened Isaac to keep him from hurting Lydia, but he never personally laid a hand on him. But he went to Scott. Someone who’s beaten him bloody multiple times.
So, really focusing on the details here, but on Julia’s death record, her  ‘jane doe’ occupation is listed as “Child” Oh, and apparently there was Froth present on the body.
Okay, so I think I understand what they’re saying. The reason Julia lived after getting to the hospital was because the birds sacrificed themselves and their life force kept her holding on. Now, either this was a spontaneous thing, and the birds did it For her. Or she Made them, because we know she doesn’t need to Be There to control weird shit. She could’ve set it up before she left the Nemeton or passed out or whatever. My confusion is. If that’s the explanation for the bird suicides, then what the Fuck happened on the first day when all the birds came crashing through the window?? There was no reason for that to happen. She was totally fine! And doing it to frighten people doesn’t make sense because she set off the radars of everything supernatural in town. (And Stiles.)
This kind of mass mind-control is kind of insane and makes the situation with Derek just That much more awful. I am so sickened.
Now, on the subject of the chanting, I assume it’s part of the ritual since it’s present at the deaths so much. The question is, where did Julia Get it? THOUGHTS: This chant isn’t present at any of the virgin kills. It’s not there with Heather, and while we don’t see the boy at the pool’s abduction/death, Emily Also didn’t hear it during her hallucination. What if it’s part of the virgin sacrifice perk? Like, Julia could Only Use it after killing the virgins, because it’s got some kind of mind-control thing about it?
Wh--why didn’t Julia tape her arms down before she woke up? Why make the garrotte before ensuring her victim couldn’t Punch her in the face??
I thought you JUST said she wasn’t going to be a sacrifice?
Still confused. You didn’t sacrifice Lydia, so that doesn’t count as the third philo, but then the teacher who died onstage wasn’t a threefold death, or the hanging thing, they just got their throat cut and they were poisoned. So....what? Was that supposed to count as your sacrifice?
Nobody TOUCHES Noah, who managed to be the only fucking cop on tv i’ve ever seen follow sensible procedure which is to shoot them in the fucking leg when they walk toward you menacingly, rather than threatening to shoot them in the head and doing nothing.
Final Thoughts:
There was a lot in this episode that didn’t make sense. It’s very clearly an amping up for the finale thing, but it’s annoying that after all this time they’ve essentially made the Alpha pack a time waster. The whole thing with getting Derek in the pack is relatively meaningless now that there’s a Darach going after the Alphas. I dunno, feels kinda off.
Anyway, onward.

day 1: shenanigans
foxes den shenanigan (1)
summary: snippets into the slice of life of being one of the few young women who interact with the inarizaki volleyball club. every member is all tough on the outside until they meet kira, yn: the one who had been neighbors with the miya twins all her life. her best friend, nakiri-chan, is convinced at least once in their life all three of them (osamu, kira, and atsumu) had loved each other. this mini series is a going to be a little reflective, a little dramatic, and overall deals with themes of growing up to learn the difference of love.
genre: slice of life/ angsty-teen love/ rated pg-15+ for language and juxtopostional humour.

-------[Inarazaki High School, 11:47 a.m.]-------
“you can’t be serious,” my best friend’s voice of disbelief tells me. we were on lunch break when we decided to head to the vending machines by the gym. there were various students talking amongst themselves buzzing with excitement for the annual art festival.
“oh, but i am,” i said. i took a deep breath when i gripped her shoulders. upon my exhale i nodded.
“b-but your class representative said your homeroom was putting together a maid cafe all because she found out you know how to bake?”
“i blame the last bake sale my cooking club did to raise funds for a new mixer. all the members of the boys’ volleyball team bought a bag of my ‘cosmic star’ cookies.“
“i see. well, it can’t be all that bad, right? if you’re going to be the one coming up with the menu and the baked treats, you don’t really have to wear the maid outfit.”
i hum in response when i place my bill into the machine. the vending machine rumbles before dropping my can of mango nectar. once she buys her drink, she and i head back to our class on the third floor; before we separate, she wishes me luck with coming up with the menu.
“so, what did you have in mind kira-chan?”
“macaroons and maybe tarts. i don’t know what kind yet though. i’ll see ya after classes are over so we can walk home together. later nakiri-san!”
***
the day of the festival approached even faster than you had thought. after many attempts at making various macaroon flavors and tart ideas that paired well with the boba-styled drinks being served, me and the other bakery/cafe volunteers were ready for business. the other students in your class were divided between servers and baristas. the girls and boys who were selected as the maids and butlers were thankfully the only ones that had to wear the full garb. since it was the day before the festival, i decided to do a sampling of the sweets i chose to make for the servers and baristas so they can help our prospective customers tomorrow with describing the menu items. my fellow classmates, the team of five standing next to me (our bakers team consisted of six), were able to try out their own treats and thanked me for showing them how to make the treats. aside from macaroons and cookies, we collectively added two parfait flavors: one was strawberry themed for our school colors and the other was themed around sunset colors.
before the meeting was adjourned, i breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the news from our class rep up until she mentioned something about the bakery staff wearing cat ears and other nicknacks of cafe worker approved jewelry. when i got home that evening, i screamed into my pillow to relieve some excess stress over the maid cafe.
i immediately called my neighbor and although i wasn’t expecting him to answer the phone, i felt relief wash over me when i heard his normal greeting on the other end:
“miya residence and no, atsumu isn’t the better twin.”
i chuckled at his statement. after years of living next door to them, i can only say that miya osamu was right (also, he was the first person to express the same level of joy in cooking for others). he immediately cleared his throat when he heard me laugh.
“ahem. oh, hey kira-san. what’s up?”
i am not surprised i heard a short lived scuffle in the background as well as atsumums “ack!” in the background followed by a soft thud that only chucking a pillow could have made.
“osamu? it’s me. say, do you still have the cat ear hair clips from last halloween?”
***
the festival was in full swing: streamers lined the hallways as the people visiting came to enjoy what our school had to offer. i heard from nakiri that her class voted on doing a paint by numbers mural. other classes in our year were doing their renditions of living portraits and face painting. apparently, my class along with our neighbors across the hall divided up the cafeteria to encompass both a savory restaurant booth along with our class’ maid cafe.
i was busy with the other members of my team making sure orders were being ran on time while placing the finishing touches for the treats on the tray. even though i was allowed to wear my pistaschio green chef coat, i couldn’t get away with just wearing a macaroon earrings. to push my bangs back, i had a pair of cat ears clipped into my hair.
“shift change kira-san!” my class rep’s voice said in an exuberant manner. she was in charge of patrolling the hallway trying to gather more guests to come into our side of the cafeteria. business was steady to say the least, but i recalled i had signed up to take over the advertising part once hers was over.
“ok! can you give me a few minutes? i need to fix my make up real quick.”
elsewhere, the members of the inarizaki volleyball team were seen wandering around campus enjoying the festival. the twins along with suna had long sinced branched off and found nakiri’s class.
“hey guys! come to paint?” she offered them a sponge brush and a little to-go container.
“isn’t kira-chan supposed to be with you?” osamu asked perplexed i wasn’t near by.
“yeah, aren’t you two joined at the hip?” his brother chimed in. nakiri rolled her eyes at the blond before shaking her head.
“oh? you didn’t hear?” nakiri asked slightly taken aback by his question.
right at that moment, nakiri pointed behind the boys toward where i was standing speaking with over festival goers who were looking at the menu for my class’ cafe. i had a smile on my face when the guests mentioned they’d absolutely stopped by for a refreshing treat. when they waved their good bye to me, i was suddenly greeted by a different family who asked what i would recommend for their five year old (while they would opt for teas, their child really wanted something sweet). after asking a few questions (are they allergic to anything? does their child prefer strawberries or oranges? etc), i pointed out our strawberry parfait as a great option for them to all share.
“i heard one class chose to do a dessert cafe, but i didn’t think it would be a maid cafe,” rintarou stated flatly. he took the paint and the brush from nakiri before stepping inside to paint his section of the mural. on the other hand, the blond twin elbowed his brother. there was a teasing glint in his eyes.
“kira-san looks really cute, doesn’t she ‘samu?”
nakiri caught on to how pink the gray haired twin’s cheek became when his brother teased him. for the life of him, osamu couldn’t help but wonder why his neighbor called him asking to borrow the cat ear clips the night prior and now it was all making sense.
“shut it atsumu.”
“hmm,” nakiri hummed. she tapped her index finger on her lips in thought. “my shift is almost over for the hour, so why don’t we all go visit the cafe, yeah?”
***
“oh my god!”
my class rep burst through the kitchen doors again when my shift was over causing me to almost drop the parfait in my hands. i had successfully placed the dessert on the tray. one of the front of house staff members gripped her shoulders to calm her down a bit. thankfully, none of the ingrients toppled over, but we did lose a cookie straw in the process.
“breathe class rep,” i saidx. i was trying really hard to not laugh at her panicked expresion. “what’s going on?”
“h-hot miya twins outside.”
that was all i needed to hear before i pinched the bridge of my nose before cursing my best friend and her family nine generations back for slipping out my secret assignment for the festival.
seeing my neighbors through the window of the kitchen swing doors was honestly the last thing i needed today, but of course we couldn’t always win the fortune of the gods. mumbling a quick, ‘the gods are testing me again,’ caused one of the cooks to snicker. to be fair, i could live without the thought of hearing atsumu’s teasing jokes or osamu’s sass, but alas, i did not win fortune’s favor that hour. also, this was the last outfit they’d expect to see me in because half of the volleyball team had tried (keyword:tried) to get me into a maid outfit for y e a r s. that campaign stopped as soon as shinsuke became captain.
“they’re asking for you to serve them too,” the front of house manager said when he walked into the kitchen shortly thereafter. i was having a good day up until this turn of events, and although it took every fiber of my being to not kill those two, i realized i should handle this in an appropriate manner. i mentioned i’ll handle it relinquishing my duties to my second.
when i walked outside, i noticed that not only were my twin neighbors outside, they also sent a text to their entire team asking to visit the cafe area. i calmly turn my lips upward in a saccharine smile as i approached their table. it’s the same familiar smile which caused atsumu and osamu’s blood to run cold; they knew i was pissed as soon as i let the spirit of customer service take over my body.
“welcome to the foxes’ den masters,” i greeted them with a bow. “how may i be of service?”
atsumu’s eyes bounced back and forth between me and his brother who seemed to have found the parfaits description very interesting.
“can i order something off the menu?” atsumu asked in a teasing way. if looks could kill, i’d sent the setter back home with a killer bruise on his shoulder, yet I remember how violence is frowned upon at a festival.
seeing as i did not object to his question when i replied with, “if it is your wish master.”
“can i buy an hour of your time from ya for my dearest younger brother?”
i blinked caught off guard by his forwardness on his twin’s behalf. all of our patrons had ceased speaking to other members of their parties after hearing his proposal. where was a pillow when i needed to scream into one? all color drained from osamu’s face. nakiri looked just as shocked as i was mouthing a ‘sorry’ toward me; she gave me an encouraging smile. (it’s been four years since both of the miya siblings gifted me friendship chocolates on white day as an apology for poking fun at my wacky homemade candies. my parental figure thought it would have been nice to make some for the neighbors’ twins in middle school.)
my smile disappeared while i pondered my answer to the setter’s eager eyes. to spare both osamu and i further embarrassment, I spoke the first thing that came to my mind:
“if that is what your brother wishes, young master, then he should ask me himself,” i said kindly.
this caught osamu’s attention real quick; his eyes snapped up at me with a curious stare. suna had his phone out obviously documenting the whole thing. i tilt my head to the side and posed my hands under my chin prentending to think before i shrugged.
“he should also know that my shift ends at five-thirty and he should meet me here if he doesn’t mind walking me home. now, if you’ll excuse me, i have to garnish table seven’s parfaits.”
the murmurs of conversations began up again once i bowed and took my leave back into the kitchen. the last thing i heard was nakiri laughing as atsumu exclaimed that they were seated at the table i mentioned and osamu claiming that he’d kill his brother for fourth time that day.
“i’ll have you know that i could have asked her at any time right?” osamu seethed. “i don’t need you to line up dates for me.”
“yeah, yeah. you hate me, i hate you. we punch each other a little, and then you get to date kira since you’re clearly not going to do anything about this one sided love you think you two have,” atsumu said before resting his chin on his hand. suna caught what atsumu said all on the video he was recording, including nikiri’s stunned face.
“woah, back the fun bus up. seriously?!” she asked. “no wonder kira had been acting a bit more strictly with her recipes lately. look at the little drawings on the menu.”
she was quick to point out the little drawings of the chibi macaroons (“one was blueberry the other was mango orange, a silent reference to you three’s friendship,” she briefly explained) the design team made and colored.
“must be true, look at how red his cheeks are becoming & i don’t think that’s because of anger,” suna replied.
“c‘ mon, let’s go.” atsumu suggests, rising from the table. “i suddenly recall having passed by the boardwalk games section. osamu, you stay here and tell me what i should order.”

It’s time for Dumb Headcanons-
For whatever reason, Kara is the one to carry her and Lena’s first born child, she can’t just vanish for almost a year without saying anything though, I mean what kind of hero would do that?
So she makes a public announcement right after officially finding out that she’s pregnant that she’s “going away for a few months on a personal journey”
Now the thing is, Lena knows her wife, she knows her very well, and she knows that her watching from the sidelines as Alex and the others keep the city safe is going to be incredibly painfull for her, so she decides to take Kara on a vacation for the first few months of pregnancy
Once they get around the second trimester they’re going to have to go into seclusion in a special fortress that Clark and Kate built for her that’s like half Fortress Of Solitude and half Batcave that’s structured to both keep enemies out, and keep Kara in, because they know their girl as well as Lena does (Alex tunes in from skype from time to time to tell them what they’ve done wrong specifically because she knows how crafty Kara is and is just “mmm nope you see that little crack in that wall right there? Yeah she could get through that, I don’t know how, but she could”) Ofcourse freinds and family are welcome to visit because it’d just be cruel otherwise but anyway
Lena knows Kara, she knows that staying cooped up in one place for 5-6 months is going to be hell enough as it is, the full extent of her pregnancy would be a NIGHTMARE, but she also is a little afraid to stay in National City during the first 3-4 months because that would equally be disasterous on Kara’s mental health, seeing shit go down and not being able to help, so she decides to take them on vacation instead, to some of the most peacefull places on Earth, like the New Zealand countryside and a small town in Switzerland and a tiny island that she may possibly own, it seems like a solid plan to begin with, until....
Proof That Lena Luthor Is Supergirl
That’s the headline that starts popping up about four days after they leave and it’s just everywhere, conspiracy theories that Lena is Supergirl because she “vanished“ at the same time that Supergirl left
Kara thinks it’s hilarious, it’s the best laugh she’s had in a week and that’s saying something considering how much time she’s spent watching cute cat videos on the private jet
They have to cut their vacation short so Lena can go back to National City every few weeks, show her face for a few days, and then leave again
Everyone starts making it into an inside joke that they have to be very carefull not to share outside of The Circle of those in the know because otherwise something might slip, Brainy in particular thinks it’s bizarre that Kara just keeps getting more pregnant everytime she comes back and yet somehow no one has tried to pin Lena’s wife, who’s pregnant, as the superhero who has to mysteriously vanish for nine months (because against her better instincts Kara does mention at the press conference that she’ll be returning in June, wich is about nine months from when she announces her departure, somehow no one has picked up on it, until they start with the Lena theory and go “AND HER WIFE IS PREGNANT AND DUE IN JUNE, COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT-” evidently they’ve decided that Lena is leaving because Kara is pregnant, wich isn’t wrong, but still somehow off)
By the time baby Kira Zor El Luthor is born (they made the conscious decision to break from the “L” tradition in Lena’s family only to end up with the “K” tradition in Kara’s completely by accident; their second born will be named Luka and Alex is going to headdesk so hard she bruises) half of National City has started to believe that Lena is Supergirl, somehow, and she and Kara- as Supergirl- have to actually appear together in public and shake hands with people to prove neither one is a hologram before anyone lets the theory die
Other less cohesive headcanons about this insanity-
-Kara insists that she take care of Kira when she wakes up in the middle of the night because to be 100% honest sleep is a luxury, not a necessity, for her- that’s not even being careless with herself, that’s just.... a legitimate fact... she doesn’t really HAVE to sleep very much as long as she’s under the yellow sun so why on earth should she deprive Lena of it???
Lena: Really, it’s ok, I’ve had a lifetime of being denied sleep so at this point I can actually function with out it :)
Kara: That.... that in absolutely no way makes me feel better...... also I have super hearing so I’ll hear her first anyway, there’s no need to wait for you to wake up..
Lena: Oh no that’s fine, I’m hypervigilant and paranoid so I’ll wake up as soon as she starts crying, no superpowers required! :)
Kara: That just makes me feel even worse?????? B-Besides I have a Kryptonian lullaby I can sing to her that works like a charm
Lena: Oh that’s so lovely, I have an old Irish lullaby my mother taught me right before she died that I can’t wait to sing to Kira as the literal only good thing that comes from my family legacy :)
Kara, near tears: ...Have I done something to you today????? ;_;
Lena: ...no?? why???
-The amount of food they go through during Kara’s pregnancy probably could have sustained a small country for atleast a month, it doesn’t seem to matter how much Lena thinks she’s stocking up ahead of time, it’s never enough and she inevitably always has to buy more the very next day, it takes the combined efforts of Barry and Kate to help keep things stocked so Lena isn’t having to constantly be leaving the Bat Fortress (it was the name Kate and Clark finally decided on and no one has the right to veto it no matter how much certain people want to) to restock, they start this Superhero Delivery Service as a Bros Being Bros type of thing, just freinds being freinds and loving their pregnant super freind so very much but after a week it turns into a ruthless competition of what, ultimately, is the better resource- speed or money, Barry has the Speed Force but Kate has every method of transportation imaginable and also drones and by the time Kira is born a rivalry has slowly simmered between them, the likes of wich goes right back to the type of “Who’s faster?” rivalry Barry has with the Supers, that probably won’t end even after they both die, Kara has mixed feelings about being the inadvertent catalyst for this but Nia thinks it’s the best thing that’s ever happened and she and Mary are placing bets
-Lena knows that Kryptonians don’t exactly have the same health issues to worry about that humans do but Kira is going to be atleast part human isn’t she? So Kara has to be willing to step up her health game wile she’s pregnant right??? Nice theory, no dice, Alex tried to warn her but Lena Luthor doesn’t lose and when she wants something she gets it................ unless that something is getting Kara to have a healthier diet, then there’s no force on any planet in any universe that can help
Lena: An apple
Kara: A dozen doughnuts
Lena: One apple
Kara:  ...Sixteen doughnuts
Lena: *gently places an apple on the table*
Kara: ....*stares intensely at the box of doughnuts, unblinking*
Lena: ....What are you doing?
Kara: I wonder if I try hard enough if I can develop telekinesis
Lena: No-
-True panic is Lena taking care of Kira at the office wile Kara is off doing the superheroing for the first time in months (nanny? nope, not in this house, the child never leaves our sight, we die like moms) and Kira starts giggling and levitates out of her bassinet wile Lena is on a conference call so her investors are met with a frantic Lena keeping her voice astoundingly level and clear wile running around the office chasing her floating baby, they mostly just get glimpses of her jacket from time to time and, if they ask, are only met with “I have a child now” and absolutely no other explanation
-For the first time since being on Earth Kara is faced with the cosmic joke that is Earth’s gravity during her late months of pregnancy because everything is wobbly and waddly and holy RAO HOW IS IT SO HARD JUST TO GET OFF OF THE FLOOR!?!?! SHE COULD FLY TWO MONTHS AGO AND NOW IT’S A MAJOR STRUGGLE TO PULL HERSELF OFF OF THE COUCH WHAT THE FUCK!?
-Kate has managed to live through four years of having actual freinds who have started to reproduce and never once has she reacted with more than marginally more interested than what she had during Crisis when Kara tried to hand Jon to her, but in those four years all of those freinds have been straight, to be fair, and there’s something a little different about seeing other lesbians with babies that’s mildly more tolerable, first it was Alex and Kelley, then it was Kara and Lena, Sophie and Mary keep cooing over the babies and Kate doesn’t really get that........ until she’s visiting Kara and an alien attacks and Kara is just “hold my baby-” and flies out the window and Kate is Stuck with a sleeping four-month-old and no ability to get to a phone without waking Kira up so she’s just kind of frozen like that for the foreseeable future and when Kara comes back Kate is laying on the couch, Kira sleeping on her chest, looking incredibly relaxed
Kate: Oh you’re back, we’ve had a lovely time
Kara: Awwwwwwwww, see? You are good with babies <3
Kate: Mmmm still going to have to disagree on that but your’s is... not... bad...
Kara: Sooooooo you’ll babysit sometime? :3
Kate: Nope, this last half hour was enough thanks
Kara: Wait until Sophie hears you lasted an entire half hour ;)
Kate: Just hold off telling her for about fifteen years or so, I don’t think we’re ready to live in a world where I can tolerate this for an entire thirty minutes yet
Kara: lol ok
Years later when she eventually ends up taking after her cousin and having a couple of orphans with her name on them she insists to Sophie that it’s Kara’s fault because “that time she made me hold her kid for half an hour did something to me I just know it”, Kara pops in one day after hearing this and just goes “You’re welcome~” before flying off again
And finally-
Kara: Lena honey I think Kira is a little too young to be getting her first suit tailored...
Lena: But she’s already a year old...???

Hey btw, how do you think it would have been different if Nozel was the one put in a coma instead of Fuegoleon? Like Fuego gave him his pendant to keep it safe at some point and Nozel had yet to return it. Would he even get taken out like Fuego did? We know his mercury is very effective against light magic so much so that even when Patry was souped up on demon, Nozel still wrecked him so?? Though maybe through the element of surprise? Or not since mercury can keep pace with light magic??
This is such a good au to explore, allow me to discuss it totally ineffectually LOL
First, I think you’re right... Nozel would have wrecked Patry’s shit when he got teleported away and the series would have been a lot shorter (unless he had to find his way out of wherever the fuck he was teleported)
So to get into the meat of this, let’s pretend that for some ungodly reason, he did get bodied by Patry, lost his arm, and stayed in a coma for the same amount of time that Fuegoleon did
First of all, he would be one step closer to being Sesshomaru I think this would have affected Noelle’s character arc the most, to be honest, because she would have to make some very interesting choices in how to align herself with House Silva very soon after getting kicked out. I don’t think that Nebra and Solid would do anything so bold as to acknowledge her on the spot and ask for her help. I think that having a more personal stake in all this would push her in a different way than she was pushed with Fuegoleon being the one injured. Obviously she cared about him, and obviously she wanted to get better to help him, but he’s not her brother.
In that same vein, if Nozel was there to get teleported in the first place, that means that Nebra, Solid, and Noelle were there, and could do nothing about it. They’re feeling some pretty heavy guilt (that NEVER got explored with Leo in the series I’m just realizing!?) and they’re going to have to work that out. That’s going to hit Solid and Nebra harder than Noelle, since she’s been very directly told that she’s not needed or wanted in House Silva. I’d love to see what that would do to their characters. I don’t think it would result in a push to better themselves right away.
So all of the events of canon happen, with intermittent sprinklings of  Noelle having to traverse the strange situation of being the only Silva who’s not completely emotionally debilitated by Nozel’s injury. Because without Nozel, Solid and Nebra would be completely lost. They would be useless at best and a liability at worst until someone kicked their asses into gear and reminded them that they CAN get better and help avenge their brother. Who would do that, I wonder?...
Oh! And who would take over the Silver Eagles? That’s a very fun and sexy question. I don’t think Nebra. She’s the oldest Silva after Nozel, but she’s not leader material. I don’t think she wants the job, let alone think that she’s cut out for it. No one is entertaining Solid taking the role. So it would either have to fall to somebody who got no screentime in canon, or... get this: Meoroleona.
Meoroleona was trained by Acier Silva. We know she’s an effectual leader, and she’s got almost as big a stake in Nozel’s wellbeing as Fuegoleon’s, in my opinion. The two go way back. Meoroleona was close to House Silva. When the royal knights are infiltrating the Eye of the Midnight Sun base, Meoro and Nozel talk like they’re old friends. This is not that big a leap to me. Naturally, Fuegoleon takes Nozel’s place as the second captain of the royal knights. With Meoroleona in the role of Silver Eagles captain, we also get the wonderful addition of the Silver Eagles in the hot springs episode. RIP.
Middle middle middle, elf invasion, yadda yadda...
Okay, I’m going to talk about two distinct possibilities now.
Possibility one: Nozel didn’t wake up during the elf invasion
So coming back to Silva stuff, I love the idea that both Solid and Nebra tried to get into the royal knights (Nebra would have been pushed by duty with Nozel being the one injured). But neither of them gets in. Kivn would still attack them, but instead of being in Solid’s room, imagine they’re sitting with Nozel.
I’m not saying that they’d win, but that fight would have gone differently. Nobody’s fooling around when Nozel’s life is on the line.
With that change, I think that Fuegoleon and Noelle coming to the rescue would have held a weight for them that hit WAY different than them getting their asses kicked because they were fooling around. They’d be forced, for the second time, under similar circumstances, to come to the realization that even at their best, even when they’re trying their hardest, even when they’re fighting for the most important thing in their lives, they are not strong enough to face every challenge and win it. Noelle is better than them because of hard work. She came to save them even though they abused her her entire life. While they were moping around, feeling sorry for Nozel and themselves, Noelle was bettering herself. They feel like the twats that they are.
Cue Teachable Moment for Fuegoleon. The elf invasion continues on its trajectory.
Nozel wakes up once the dust has settled. Meoroleona never lets him live down sleeping through a near-apocalypse. Nebra and Solid have grown both as people and as mages, including being on better terms with Noelle. Nozel trips all over himself to apologize to Noelle the way he did in canon, in a much more intimate and emotional scene.
Possibility two: Nozel does wake up during the elf invasion
Picture Nebra and Solid being with Nozel when Kivn attacks, but instead of Fuegoleon and Noelle coming to the rescue, Nozel wakes up, sporting the earth spirit.
Kivn’s demise is swift and sexy. Nebra and Solid are pretty excited about it, but unfortunately don’t face the earth shattering realizations they’d face if Nozel stayed unconscious. The two of them are left to heal while Nozel makes swift work of the other elves rampaging through House Silva and House Kira.
In both of these, Fuegoleon does not get the fire spirit. I think that Nozel and Fuegoleon, as foils, switch roles in this au pretty smoothly, which.... you know, it is what it is.
Hm, I feel like there’s so much more to be discussed here but I’m falling a little flat.

Tumblr media
↳ @hiddenknives (naomi) asked, “  two times cheek-kissed and that one time where they almost lip-kissed cuz she looked like sarah from behind but she dodged at the last second - cal & naomi ” ( i am still fucking howling at this ) || five times kissed --accepting.
Tumblr media
1).      happy birthday naomi!!! ---his ears rang for how loud, how in-unison the room was, despite being as off-tone they were. for as strange as this entire scenario was, cal was fitting in quite easily. he wouldn’t lie and say his initial interests weren’t a bit selfish ---for kira, for sarah, to understand what threatened two people he had so much love for it terrified him. but he was involved with each of them now: cosima and her endless knowledge, allison and her snark, helena ... and god she terrified him, and naomi with her endless wealth of smiles. she was a good one, cal had decided perhaps the second time meeting her. goodness just poured off of her.
and perhaps anyone else would feel a bit sheepish handing her the thin envelope, but cal’s ever-present wide grin nearly split his face in two as he did. as her fingers pried at the seal he offered, “ i can’t say i’ve ever been myself,  but it came highly recommended. with a bit of research, too. ” two tickets to the art gallery of ontario, boasting a new exhibit that was well beyond cal’s understanding ( appreciative of art as he was, a lot of it went well over his head ). “ take your brother. you guys deserve a night. happy birthday. ” and he leaned down, pressing a whisker-laden kiss to the apple of her cheek. he could think of no one better for a little break from the madness.
2).      it wasn’t uncommon for cal to dip off of the grid, months at a time spent in almost complete seclusion with nothing but his own devices to keep him occupied. it was how he got the most work done, really. he’d use his contacts to keep tabs on kira, sending out little feelers into the clone club whenever sarah moved her somewhere that he couldn’t initially detect. but he’d spent eight years unaware that she had been alive, he could afford time apart if it meant her safety. whenever he resurfaced it was always with a wealth of information: a zip drive chock full of plans, e-mails, documents that were classified otherwise, all in the name of being useful. slowly but surely he was adjusting to this life. clones as they were, the leda girls all deserved a life of their own, free of being watched and tracked, free of being hunted or prodded. never mind the precarious position his daughter existed in because of how special she was.
he half expected to be threatened at gunpoint when he appeared, though cosima had been made aware of his trip to this week’s hideout. through the doors he traipsed, offering greetings to each of the girls and their respective allies, all people involved for the same reason despite different walks of life. somewhere along the line it had become customary to greet them with kisses, as if they were old family friends, as if they were cousins long forgotten, and when he stopped before naomi he greeted her with a wide smile and a warm hello! with signs. ( for all the time he spent working with her he figured it would only be useful to learn asl ... and who else had all the time in the world that cal morrison had? ) down he bent, clipping her cheek with a sweet peck before digging his hand in the pocket of his flannel jacket, “ i have goodies. have you all been behaving for them? ”
3).      cal wasn’t ashamed to admit that sarah had buried a little knife in his heart all those years ago. a month was a short time to form an attachment to someone and yet she had planed those seeds expertly ---he should have seen that it was just a game, but still he’d been shafted, hurt when she fled. he didn’t care about the money, the car. he had more than enough cash, he could always get another ... but it had been a slap in the face for the falsehood of their relationship. and she’d crashed back into his life eight years later as if nothing happened, as if she hadn’t toyed with him ---as if they hadn’t conceived a child together. he was under no obligation to be a father to kira and yet ... god, she was the light of his life. he’d never known how badly he wanted to be a father until he’d met her, how natural it felt.
his daughter was in and out of his life more frequently than a sewing needle pulled through fabric, but he understood. her safety was the utmost importance and his selfish desire to protect her of his own devices wouldn’t stand in the way of what was best for her. still, sarah was a less frequent appearance than kira ( and that he understood, too ) but it didn’t stop his heart from leaping whenever she came back around. they always seemed to start the same way every time: tentative, as if ensuring the other was alright with lingering feelings still persisting, and then falling into place as if they’d never lost time. and when he came around ( as he so often did now ) and caught sight of her, his heart threatened to leap out of his chest once more. fuck pretenses, why waste time?
she was much smaller than he was, enough that when he gently pried at her shoulder to turn her he had to lower himself just enough. and it was a close fucking call, he felt the heat of her breath against his lips, they’d brushed her own in the slightest of ways before her eyes widened and she shifted sideways, planting his tiers against her cheek, just to the side of her mouth. “ oh hey, cal! ” ------fuck. naomi. he should have fucking learned by now. clones. sisters. genetic copies of one-another and while cosima boasted glasses and a hairstyle different enough to never make the embarrassing mistake ( while helena permanently looked like she’d stuck her fingers in a light socket, too ) naomi and sarah were almost indistinguishable from behind.
his face blanched, filled with red immediately after, and with one hand he palmed at his beard, over his mouth. “ fuck, naomi i am ... i’m so sorry. i thought--- ” but her own red-faced chuckle suggested it’s alright, no harm, no foul. it still didn’t stop the heat from pricking the tops of his ears as he straightened, took a purposeful step back, and cleared his throat. right ... no harm, no foul.

HSMTMTS 1x05 Review
Homecoming was a historic ep that was a giant leap forwards for rep on Disney and an overall delightful ep. Let’s dig in!
I was blown away by Seblos this ep, I never expected Disney to go this far this soon but what great scenes we got. It was so refreshing to see Carlos and Seb acting like normal teens, just like any straight couple. They have good chemistry and Frankie played Carlos’ nerves when asking Seb to the dance perfectly and his celebration after Seb said yes. I liked when Seb mentioned that homecoming would mean dancing together in front of all the non theatre kids, a little reminder of how much of a safe space the theatre can be. Really powerful to see Carlos tell Mr. Mazzara that he thought he made a mistake asking him to dance with him publicly and to see Carlos be brave enough to go dance on his own. And then when Seb arrived we got the shot we see in every teen movie where the love interest arrives at the big dance and sees the main character and smiles, it’s amazing that we saw that with two guys on a Disney show. Also impressive that Seb apologizing to Carlos was done in just one take as Tim revealed on instagram
Tim Federle has done an amazing job so far and good for him for going right into text. He’s said in interviews that no one from Disney ever asked him to cut any scenes or shy away from certain topics, which doesn’t mean much since he’d be saying that regardless of how much he was being censored, but we can see with our own eyes that he really is telling the truth. Now I do want more development for Carlos and Seb as characters as well as Seblos as a ship and I do think we’ll get that especially since Joe Serafini has been promoted to a series regular for S2, which is a very good sign that Disney is all in with Tim Federle’s plans. What an exciting time, there will soon be two main gay characters on a Disney show played by openly gay actors on a show created by an openly gay man. Tim has spoken of how Disney + is in some ways an open frontier and that he’s willing to take big jumps and I can’t wait to see what the rest of S1 and S2 has in store for us
Things have changed a lot since the High School Musical movies came out. It’s well known that Ryan was meant to be gay even though he could never actually be gay. Lucas Grabeel has spoken of how Kenny Ortega told him that Ryan was a lot like his High School self. In an interview with EW, Tim Federle was asked about the censorship of Ryan’s character and he noted that he wasn’t there for the movies and doesn’t view what he’s now doing on HSMTMTS as making up for anything that the original movies weren’t able to do. Which is fair but regardless in some ways tonight's ep does make up for the censorship of the movies
While reading an article on HSMTMTS I came upon a link to a story from October 2008 about Ryan and how he was clearly being coded as gay that featured some revealing quotes from Gary Marsh, from an interview conducted in summer 2008:
Regarding the fact that there are boyfriend-girlfriend relationships in the HSM movies, Marsh interjected, “Yeah, but that’s not about sex,” as though having two boyfriends equals full-tilt boogie. And as to why there can be boyfriend and girlfriends but not two boyfriends, he could only note, “It’s just not something that we’ve ever had the opportunity to portray. It hasn’t been a place we’ve gone.”
If someone, like Gary Marsh, believes that lgbtq relationships are inherently sexual then that means they don’t believe they’re appropriate for children. It’s no surprise then that it wouldn’t be until 2014 that Disney Channel had two lesbian moms appear on Good Luck Charlie and it wouldn’t be until 2017 that Cyrus came out to Buffy. Clearly Gary has for whatever reasons evolved in his views or there wouldn’t have been any rep on Disney Channel in the past 11 years nor do I think that he would make a comment like that publicly today but he probably does still believe that to an extent and I’d imagine other senior Disney executives do as well
A few things are helping Disney + push boundaries, being more of a PG than a G rated service, not being exclusively targeted towards children, and being a curated service so parents can easily avoid showing their kids shows with lgbtq rep. And perhaps most importantly, the cold hard reality that if Disney + is to become financially viable then it has to appeal to a broad audience and provide the same quality or better than people could find on Netflix or other streaming services so the kind of censorship we see on Disney Channel just can’t fly
There’s been a lot of discourse regarding Seblos and Tyrus and HSMTMTS and Andi Mack and I’ll take the time to say my piece now. It’s not entirely fair to compare the ships and shows since they’re taking place under very different circumstances. Tyrus was a heavily censored ship that was only given permission to canon when the series finale was written whereas Seblos is already canon in the 5th ep. It’s true that TJ was written in a way to subvert gay stereotypes which was important but it’s also true that for most of the audience they didn’t know that he was gay until the bench scene itself so there wasn’t that much trope subversion going on. And who knows how he would have been written if they were actually allowed to have him be openly gay before the series finale
Carlos and Seb may fall into some stereotypes but Tim Federle has spoken of how when he was in High School he would have loved to play a character like Sharpay but wouldn’t have had the confidence to do so and he wrote Seb wanting to play a female role with his own past experiences in mind. He’s also spoken about how Carlos was based off of a close friend of his and he put some of himself into Carlos as well with Carlos telling Mr. Mazzara that he was meant to be on Broadway being something Tim told one of his own teachers in High School. Frankie and Joe have talked about how they see a lot of their own experiences in Carlos and Seb as characters and in Seblos as a relationship. Tim has spoken a lot about how important authenticity is to him and while Carlos and Seb may be stereotypical to some people it shouldn’t be discounted that others can see their lived experiences in those characters
For Andi Mack it’s important to separate Cyrus’ story from the Tyrus story line. It’s unlikely HSMTMTS could have pulled off Cyrus’ coming out story line, the shows are just too different. We’re almost certainly not going to see a One in a Minyan style ep on HSMTMTS but would we have seen such an ep on Andi Mack if they didn’t need to pack all of Cyrus’ S3 story line into one ep? We also can’t forget that 3x11 was written shortly after the cancellation and it was written as a potential end to the gay story line since they didn’t know until months later if they could go with canon Tyrus or not. Even with the limits it faced Andi Mack did a great job with Cyrus’ coming out story line and I think eps like 2x01 and 2x13 and 3x11 will be fondly remembered and will stand the test of time
When it comes to Tyrus though it’s fair to say that the bench scene was a historic and important moment but also an underwhelming one. Andi Mack didn’t live up to the promise that Cyrus was no different but it was never going to be able to with Disney’s restrictions, they were willing to focus on Cyrus as a gay character but not Cyrus as an actively gay character. One thing that will make Seblos go down a lot better than Tyrus is that we aren’t going to see Carlos bearding himself like Cyrus did. It won’t age well at all that Cyrus got to go on dates with Iris and kiss her twice and refer to her as a his girlfriend and even come up with a mashup name for them but Terri probably would have done things very differently if she had known that all Cyrus would be able to do with a boy was hold hands in the series finale. We can also tell that HSMTMTS won’t be facing an increase in censorship later on since Seb will be a main in S2 whereas Disney cracked down hard after S2 for Andi Mack, probably because the story was shifting from Cyrus having a hopeless crush on a straight guy to a reciprocated crush on a gay guy
Since Seblos is textual from the start it will be much easier to write and also much easier to fix things when the writers inevitably make mistakes. I think a lot of the defensiveness coming from certain corners of the Andi Mack fandom is because deep down people know that the bench scene wasn’t enough pay off for the long dragged out Tyrus no burn we got; especially with all of the drama and angst they had. Development is important but it doesn’t take two thirds of the series to set up a silent handhold. I think it’s very unlikely that for HSMTMTS we’ll see the drastic decline in quality that Andi Mack had for most story lines after 3x11. The bench scene would have been better if we hadn’t gotten the worst writing of the series for TJ and Cyrus as characters that did a real disservice to them and to Tyrus as a ship in the eps before the finale. The Tyrus story line was never going to get a great ending with Disney’s restrictions but it is also true that Terri’s choices made things a lot worse than they had to be
It’s insane that they introduced Kira as a homophobic character who was manipulating TJ but also was clearly into him; how do professional writers come up with that? It’s just not a mistake Tim Federle is going to make. Trying to do an external homophobia story line was an obviously bad idea but so was giving TJ an out of nowhere internalized homophobia plot in 3x13 and 3x15 before dropping it in 3x18. Cyrus’ coming out story line helped a lot of people because it showed the correct way for friends to react when someone comes out to you but for TJ they never did anything to help people dealing with internalized or external homophobia, the message was effectively ‘’deal with it on your own kids’’, which is sharp contrast with how openly his dyscalculia plot was handled. I don’t think HSMTMTS would be effectively able to deal with homophobia either but I think Tim probably realizes that and won’t attempt it
There were a lot of little things Terri could have changed that would have helped. Don’t insert Kira into their plot. Don’t have Amber kiss Jonah or say she’s love him so at least she could have pointed to another character who never got to kiss a guy or talk about feelings. Put the Jandi bracelet scene in between the Muffy and Tyrus confession scenes so we don’t go straight from a Muffy kiss and handhold and verbal confession to the bench scene. And just write the bench scene better so it’s more in line with the Tyrus dynamic like how the Muffy and Jandi scenes did a good job capturing their own dynamics. Of course, we’re not going to see Seblos end so subtly so all these problems just won’t arise
Tyrus was important because it happened and may well be the only lgbtq rep we see for middle school characters played by actual teenagers for a very long time. But it’s also true that Andi Mack’s legacy will probably rest a lot more with Cyrus specifically, especially him saying the word gay, whereas HSMTMTS will be remembered more for normalizing lgbtq relationships with Seblos. I’m glad Tyrus happened but I’m also glad that Seblos will be a much smoother story line and will break boundaries for years to come. Anyways that’s my two cents
I really liked the Gina development this ep. Her doesn’t do cash line was interesting, hinting at financial problems? Moving 5 schools in 7 years is rough and I’d like to hear more about that. I’m glad that we got confirmation that she didn’t have an actual plan and was just winging it because her actions really did not make much sense. Tim Federle had said that love triangles will become love squares and it does make more sense to have Gina be into Ricky than EJ since there’s no real drama if she’s into EJ because Nini is totally over him. I do think Gina was being sincere in the scene with Ricky in the car (which Tim said was Big Red’s car that he lent Ricky and that Joshua and Sofia did that scene in just two takes). I also think that she needs Ricky as a friend not a lover and Ricky would not be happy if he ever found out that she was the one who initially stole Nini’s phone
Miss Jenn and Mike Bowen and Benjamin Mazzara love triangle? We do know that Miss Jenn and Mr. Mazzara spend Thanksgiving trapped together which is obvious set up for feelings to develop. We also got Mr. Mazzara doing a 180 and being nice to Carlos this ep which seems like a ploy to get him on the audiences good side
Loved the friendship moments we got this ep. Big Red and Kourtney are great friends. Ricky taking Big Red to his first dance was sweet and I love that Big Red showed up in a old man suit jacket that looks like it was from the 70s. Ngl I thought Ricky was wearing pajama pants for most of the ep. Glad we got a glimpse into Kourtney and Nini’s past, they’ve been friends at least since the 7th grade. I hope Kourtney stands up to the mean costume designer senior
I liked seeing Nini grappling with her self confidence after finding out that she got the lead role at summer camp because EJ poisoned the original lead. She does have the talent but that kind of revelation would leave most people shook
Glad that Ricky and his dad had a honest convo this ep. It’s just the two of them now so they need to stick by each other
Ashlyn has been an unexpected delight so far, I liked that she was the only one to go and support Carlos and she was rocking that suit
Ricky’s office stare after Gina dumped punch on EJ’s head was too funny
Born to be brave was a great song and the choreography blew me away, such a talented cast and crew they have
All of the costumes looked great this ep, kudos to the costume designers
RIP Seb’s cow
Looking Ahead:
Miss Jenn faces her tribunal, I’m curious to see how much she faked on her resume
We get photos of Seb comforting Carlos which I think comes after he finds out that Miss Jenn is suspended. In the medley trailer there was a clip of Carlos hugging Miss Jenn at a coffee shop so maybe that’s next ep since there’s no need to meet at a coffee shop if she’s not suspended
The cast has talked about how we the audience we’ll be going back and forth on team Ricky vs team EJ all season long which at this point seems like a lie. I’m sure EJ’s redemption arc starts soon and if he’s still going to panic attacks I’d imagine that will soon be brought up but Nini is totally over him and I can’t see her being torn about her feelings for EJ in the final 5 eps of the season
With Seb being a main in S2 that will make things more difficult for the writers to juggle and I hope they are thinking about how to balance the different characters. I also wonder what the long term plan for EJ is since he’s the only senior and if S2 takes place spring semester of his senior year then what are they gonna do with him in S3?
We know that in 1x10 breaking free has EJ, Nini, and Ricky so I wonder if EJ starts off playing Troy for whatever reason before Ricky shows up. Since Ricky thinks Nini is over him I don’t think we’ll be seeing him make a move unless he gets some kind of signal from Nini
Wonder what was up with that Sharpay’s mom credit on imdb, just some random imdb troll? If so, what a coincidence that she picked what happened to be a big Seb ep
I don’t know if this will have impact on the show going forward but this marks the point that Tim Federle took over as showrunner after original showrunner Oliver Goldsmith departed. Oliver wanted to take the show in a more mature direction but Tim disagreed and Disney sided with him over Oliver
Until next week Wildcats

Light and Dark - Stiles reader insert
Summary/Notes: Stiles likes to make fun of the girl he likes, but she can dish back. Also: violence, blood, and pining. And it’s like 9.8k words, so there’s that.
Tumblr media
~*~
The first time Stiles teased Y/N was in seventh grade. She had worn a skirt to class for her presentation about a Russian princess in their history class, and Stiles felt like he couldn’t control himself.
“Nice sheet you’re wearing. You can’t take your bedding to school, you know,” he said to her.
“Well you’re one to talk. You look like you’ve just woken up with that messy hair of yours,” she shot back at him. Stiles felt his cheeks heat up and he sat in silence next to the girl he had just insulted.
A few days later, a similar conversation ensued when he walked into class and saw that Y/N was wearing glasses.
“You know, you take glasses off to become prettier. You’re not doing yourself any favors,” he commented.
“Improving my eyesight isn’t doing me favors? You have a strange definition of the word ‘favor,’ Stilinski,” she retorted.
In eighth grade, they were assigned to their very first (of many, it turned out) partner project. When the teacher told them to get to work, Y/N turned to Stiles and sighed.
“Okay, what do you want to start on?” she offered.
Stiles shrugged. “Maybe we can talk about it over the weekend since I doubt you have any plans. Give me your number.”
“I’d rather not,” Y/N responded and rolled her eyes. “We’ll start on Monday, I guess.”
“Would have thought you of all people would want to start as soon as possible. But I guess brains run out at some point,” Stiles teased, which made Y/N glare at him.
“That makes absolutely no sense. But fine, since you’re so insistent,” she remarked and the two exchanged phone numbers. Stiles felt incredibly proud of himself.
Their back-and-forth only continued from there on out and sometimes escalated into full-on yelling at each other. A particularly loud conversation they had occurred in ninth grade when they were assigned to a group project (as they often were, given the proximity of their names in the student roster) and Stiles went to leave for lacrosse practice.
“Where are you going? We have to finish this report,” Y/N asked in a hushed tone since they were in the library.
“This is boring, and I have practice,” Stiles shrugged and began to leave.
“Are you serious? That’s the third time this week you’ve flaked out on this. This report is worth twenty percent of our grade, do you not care?” she responded.
“Sorry, we can’t all be miss goody-two-shoes and have our heads stuck in books all day. There is life to be lived,” Stiles said louder.
“Okay, but your version of living life is making me do all of the hard work for your benefit and frankly, I’m getting annoyed with it,” she said and stood up to meet his level.
“So be annoyed! I have places to be, and since you care so much about the grade, you do it by yourself then!” Stiles yelled at her.
“That isn’t fair! I can’t believe how selfish you are!” she yelled back at him.
“Oh, I’m selfish?! You’re the one always making me late for practice with this stupid stuff!” Stiles yelled back.
“You mean our SCHOOL WORK?! That we have to do?! That I’m trying to help us both out with?! Sure, I’m selfish for caring about the grades I get,” she hollered.
“This is a library! Both of you need to either be quiet or it’s detention,” the school’s librarian declared suddenly.
Y/N looked at Stiles with disgust and anger, and Stiles noticed for the first time that she had gotten contacts and that her face was…nice to look at.  Not knowing how else to react, he smirked.
“You’re kinda cute when you’re angry,” he remarked in a lower and calmer voice.
“You’ll be cute too once I punch your face in,” Y/N whisper-yelled back.
Stiles laughed and walked away from her.
After that day, Stiles’ teasing became more playful and throughout the rest of high school, and Y/N seemed decreasingly inclined to participate, but that didn’t stop him. Even through the supernatural goings-on, Stiles found it in himself to make time to pay attention to Y/N. He didn’t know how else to interact with her because it was mostly a habit to tease her, and Stiles considered it flirting. Mostly her reaction was to sigh and ignore him, but there were times the Stiles caught her smiling as she walked away from him.
At their prom, Y/N wore an incredibly stunning dress and looked so good that Stiles nearly had the wind knocked out of him just looking at her. He and Scott were sat at the same table with their dates and as luck would have it, Y/N and her boyfriend at the time were sat with them.
Y/N smiled at the four of them and sat at her place next to Stiles and greeted him politely.
“Hi,” she said and then turned back to her boyfriend, Luke.
Stiles clenched his jaw in jealousy and almost said something, but was pulled from his thoughts when his girlfriend at the time, Malia, held his hand and then pulled him to the dance floor when an upbeat song began to play.
After a few hours, the lights had turned low and Stiles was dancing with a group and accidentally bumped into someone with his arm.
“Oh god, I’m so sorry, are you okay?” he said and leaned down to see whose face he had just slugged with his elbow.
“Um, yeah, I’m alright,” he heard Y/N’s voice through the music. When she stood up and their eyes met, a massive wave of guilt washed over him and he saw a red mark starting to form on her cheek where his elbow had landed.
“Of course,” Y/N groaned upon seeing him. Without another word, she held her face and headed off the dancefloor. Stiles couldn’t stand to see her hurt and felt beyond guilty for causing it, so he bit his lip in hope for the best and went after her.
“Wait! Y/N, I’m sorry, it really was an accident,” Stiles pleaded as they headed towards the first aid station.
Y/N shook her head. “It’s fine, Stiles. Don’t worry about it.”
Stiles felt an obligation to see her through this. The chaperone handed Y/N an ice pack and Stiles followed her to a silent and discrete corner of the building’s foyer. He took the ice pack from her and held it to her cheek where the red mark he noticed was starting to swell. He stabilized her head in his hands with her jaw cupped in his free hand. She looked up at him with a confused expression but didn’t stop his actions. He took this chance to realize how incredible she looked and what a beautiful woman she had become. In spite of all of the years he and she had argued over the smallest of things, his heart began to beat for her. He let his eyes linger and get lost in her irises, then travel down her face to her lips for a moment, and then his trance was broken when she spoke.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked plainly.
Stiles bit back emotion and shook his head. “Your face irks me.”
Y/N raised a brow and responded, “Then don’t stand so close. Or just go away entirely.”
Stiles clenched his jaw, then licked his lips briefly. His next action felt as if it wasn’t his own, and he wasn’t concerned with the consequences. He didn’t know when he’d be able to talk to her again since she wasn’t attending the graduation ceremony next week, so he weighed his options and chose to act.
Without another thought, he leaned down and kissed her lips with his hand resting in her cheek. Stiles was surprised when she didn’t immediately push him away, and even more surprised when she kissed him back. After a split second of bliss for Stiles, Y/N gasped and pulled away from him. Stiles held his eyes closed for a second after he felt her lips leave his to memorize the taste of her strawberry candy lipgloss, then heard her walk away.
~*~
Stiles sat down in the first class of his second year in college—forensic science. He was excited about his second year at Beacon Hills University, and so far he had loved his time there. He and Scott shared an apartment together and their building wasn’t too far from where Kira and Lydia were staying, which made life a little better. Stiles sat in the room full of students—some he recognized and some he didn’t—and waited for the lecture to begin. About five minutes before the scheduled start time of the lecture, a figure he hadn’t seen in a long time walked into the room. It was like déjà vu when Y/N entered the classroom, but she looked different from the last time he had seen her. Stiles couldn’t pinpoint it, but the way she carried herself and walked was something Stiles had never seen before in her. She didn’t seem to notice him until her eyes scanned the room for the only remaining seat—the one next to Stiles.
“Is this seat taken?” she asked politely after making her way over.
Stiles let his lip curl up into a devilish smirk.
“Well, well, well… Look who we have here,” he chimed and leaned back in his chair.
Y/N closed her eyes and let out an exasperated sigh before asking him again, “Can I sit here?”
Stiles nodded and pulled the chair out for her. His eyes couldn’t leave her form as she got herself situated.
“So, how have you been? I haven’t seen you in like two years! I thought you would have gone to a school out of town,” Stiles spoke to her.
Y/N looked at him quizzically. “Um… No, I wanted to stay close to home.”
Stiles nodded. “So what’s your major?”
Y/N looked absolutely dumbfounded. “Forensic pathology.”
Stiles smiled widely. “Looks like we’ll be working together once I become a homicide detective.”
The lecture was interesting, but Stiles was more captivated by Y/N. She was completely distracted by how she took notes, how her face reacted to the words the teacher spoke and how he needed to know everything about the time they spent apart. He noticed subtle similarities from when she took notes in grade school to now and smiled to himself at the memories he had doing exactly this—watching her take notes. Stiles felt relief when he had seen her, and he concluded that despite not being aware of it, he had missed her.
When the lecture was finished, Y/N got up to leave and Stiles followed her movements and out of the room.
“Hey, Y/N! Wait up!” Stiles said and she stopped and faced him in the hallway.
“Yeah?” she asked him with an unreadable expression.
Stiles smiled at her. “Um, it’s good to see you. Me, Scott, Lydia and Kira are all going to get drinks later… You wanna come?”
Y/N looked very confused for a moment, then shook her head slightly as if she were ridding her brain of a horrible thought or gathering jumbled thoughts together.
“Let me get this right—you were horrible to me for YEARS, and now you suddenly want to be my friend?” she inquired.
Stiles bit his lip and flattened his mouth. “I just want to talk, okay?”
“About what?”
“About you, about what you’ve been up to… It’s been a while since we’ve talked, you know?” Stiles pleaded with her.
“You’re kidding me, right,” Y/N stated.
Stiles gave her a begging look and wore a small smile. Y/N let out a breath and moved her head in a circle, then landed her vision back onto the brunette before her.
“Okay, fine. I’ll get a drink with you,” she said to him in a slightly defeated tone. As she walked away, Stiles couldn’t help but beam in her direction.
Later that night, Stiles texted the number he had never deleted, even after not speaking to the person on the other end for over a year. He looked at the last message he had sent to her on the day of their graduation and remembered how much he just wanted to see her after the night he kissed her. With a hope in his heart that overshadowed his doubts, he sent her a message:
Hey, meet us at Flounder’s in 20 :)
Stiles waited for a response and nearly jumped for joy when she texted back: Okay, see you then.
“So, after all this time, you’ve still got that crush?” Scott said with a smirk upon seeing his friend adjust his shirt and hair in the mirror. The two were ready to head to the bar a few blocks away, and Stiles had stopped at almost every reflective surface he could to check his looks.
Stiles scoffed, “Like you can talk. You’ve been hopelessly in love with Kira for what, six years now?”
Scott shrugged with a sly smile. “Well, at least Kira and I have kissed.”
Stiles laughed slightly and remembered that he had kept that part of his prom night quiet. “During spin the bottle. I still don’t know why you didn’t ask her out at that point.”
Scott shrugged. “Didn’t seem like the right time.”
“But now is?” Stiles asked and Scott shrugged.
The pair then left to meet up at the bar and Stiles’ eyes were ping-ponging between his phone and the bar’s entrance as they waited for the rest of their party to arrive.
“Hey, Kira! Where’s Lydia?” Scott asked and greeted her with a small hug when she arrived.
“Jordan showed up to surprise her, and we all know how that goes…” Kira commented with a small laugh and a knowing look.
“You can stay with me tonight if you want,” Scott jumped at the chance to help her. Stiles smirked to himself and stood up when he saw Y/N walk through the door. He had no idea why he felt so nervous—they had known each other for a long time. Stiles supposed that he felt a bit guilty for some of his teasing, but decided he’d do his best to make amends now that she’s back in his life. She had the same skirt and shirt combination, but now she wore a pair of dressy boots with a small heel and a light jacket. Stiles smiled and was reminded of the time he had first seen her over a decade ago and walked up to her.
“Hey, glad you could make it! Lydia got tied up with Jordan, so it’s just the four of us,” Stiles told her and walked with her to where Scott and Kira were sat at the booth.
“Hey, Y/N! It’s been a while, how are you?” Scott greeted her with a smile and held his arms out for her to hug him.
“Oh, hi. I’m good, how are you?” she said and accepted his embrace with her own. Stiles felt a small twinge of jealousy as they hugged and he sat down across from Kira, who also hugged Y/N.
The evening was full of laughter and catching up, and Stiles grew to realize that Y/N had become a truly incredible person. She always was, but with a fresh look at her, Stiles realized why he had missed her so much. The way she spoke about her passion for crime-solving reminded him of his own passion, and he smiled fondly at her.
“Well, it’s getting late, I should probably head back,” Y/N said after a pause.
“I’ll walk you out,” Stiles offered with a smile, which earned him a confused look from Y/N.
“We should probably head out, too. It was good catching up! We should do this again sometime soon!” Kira suggested with a smile. Stiles noticed Scott’s arm around her shoulders and smirked to himself.
“Yeah, definitely!” Y/N responded cheerily.
Stiles waved goodbye to his friends and walked with Y/N out of the bar and into the parking lot.
“So, where did you park?” Stiles asked her.
“I actually walked here. I’m just a block down the road,” Y/N informed him calmly.
Stiles was taken aback and in shock. It was dark outside and they lived in a college town with all sorts of creeps and often inadequate lighting.
“Are you insane, or stupid? Why would you do that?!” Stiles accused.
“I knew it! I knew you hadn’t changed! You were a jerk back in school and you’re still a jerk now,” Y/N shot back with visible disappointment. She turned away from him and started to walk away.
“Wait! Y/N, I’m… I didn’t mean it like that,” he called after her and began to follow her.
“You called me insane and stupid. How could there be a different meaning behind that?” Y/N responded and kept walking away from him.
“I just don’t want anything to happen to you. It’s dark now and there are some really creepy people in this world. Please, just let me drive you home?” Stiles begged. Y/N stopped walking and took a deep breath.
“Fine. Only because you do make a valid point…” Y/N muttered and walked towards him.
They rode in mostly silence aside from Y/N telling him where to turn to get to her building on campus. When he parked outside of the entrance, he looked at her in his passenger’s seat. Her head was hung low and she had an expression on her face that read somewhere between confusion and pain.
“Are you alright?” Stiles asked her.
Y/N looked up at him and nodded with flattened lips, which made her dimples visible to Stiles. He smiled slightly at her and his chest started to throb when he looked at her face.
“Thank you for tonight,” she said in a low voice after a moment.
Stiles smiled wider. “You’re very welcome. I’m glad you could come tonight and hang out. I miss—I mean… I’m glad I got to see you again.”
Y/N nodded and generically smiled at him as she left his Jeep. “Thanks again for the ride. See you in class.”
Stiles drove away from her building once he saw she was safely inside and felt a sense of relief and happiness. He was pleased with how today went, especially after how the last time they were in the same room ended when they were at senior prom. Even though Stiles would never forget that moment, he wanted new moments with her.
~*~
It had been a week since Stiles and Y/N had reconnected and so far, they hadn’t spoken much. Y/N didn’t linger after lecture usually and Stiles was having an increasingly harder time approaching her. They sat next to each other every other day, but Stiles felt like they were miles apart. They greeted each other in the morning pleasantly, but their conversations never lasted more than a few seconds of pleasantries. Stiles convinced himself that it was just a funk in his self-confidence, but he’d get it back soon enough. But lately, he’d been feeling like there was a cloud looming over him and something was about to happen—in the supernatural, anyway. The sense of foreboding doom had always lingered in his head, but over the past couple of weeks, the feeling had grown stronger and stronger.
During lecture, Stiles started to hear a whispering and he looked over to see if Y/N was trying to talk to him, but she was engrossed in her notetaking.
“Stiles…” the voice called in an eerie whisper. He looked around and found no one was attempting to get his attention. He didn’t recognize the voice and he certainly couldn’t have imagined it.
“Stiles…” it called again, but the voice trailed off into a ringing sound that he could barely stand. Suddenly, it stopped and there was a crash outside the room. He heard yelling and the window into their classroom broke as a small object was tossed inside. Stiles didn’t think, and only reacted.
“Get down!” he screamed at the class. He lunged over to Y/N and covered her head and body with his arms wrapped around her just in time to feel the blast from the explosive device hit his back. He heard Y/N’s scream and he held her close to protect her as best he could. The pair were thrust to the back of the classroom across the carpet with Y/N taking the brunt of the impact. Y/N and Stiles were rolled onto the floor and Stiles propped himself up over Y/N, who was lying on her back and debris flew around them. He protected her head and his by covering them with his arms with his cheek against hers until he was sure the room had settled. He continued to hear screams and crashing outside of the room that they were in, but Stiles took a chance and looked around. He saw that the room was in shambles and most of his classmates were beginning to stand up. He turned back to Y/N, who was below him.
“Hey, hey, can you hear me?” Stiles asked Y/N frantically as he pulled the two of them apart and sat them up. He held Y/N’s face in his hands, then moved one to her shoulder where he found a large lump formed on her upper arm as he gently rubbed the area.
Y/N looked slightly disoriented and her face had dirt and a few scrapes on it, but she nodded. “Yeah, I’m okay… Stiles, your head…”
Stiles furrowed his brows and didn’t let go of Y/N to check his head. He didn’t feel anything, but Y/N reached up and touched his forehead and pulled back to show him the blood that had come from his forehead.
“Come on, we have to get out of here,” Stiles said frantically and helped Y/N to her feet. He had no way of proving it, but Stiles had a hunch that this was a supernatural occurrence and he needed to get to Scott and he needed Y/N to be safe.
As the pair started to move, Y/N hissed in pain. Stiles turned back to her and saw blood dripping from her knee. He looked at the wound and started to take his flannel off to wrap it, but before he could, Y/N had taken her scarf off and began to tightly wrap the laceration.
“Are you okay?” Stiles asked her as he stood up again and met her eyes.
“Yeah, we need to call 911,” she said. Stiles looked around and saw the fire alarm and pulled it.
“That’ll do the trick. Come on, let’s go,” Stiles said and gripped Y/N’s hand. The pair stumbled through the broken hallway past the destroyed classrooms and Stiles knew that with this amount of destruction, the building couldn’t stand much more. He looked down each hallway to make sure the assailants weren’t close by, and in one case he saw them—a figure cloaked in black with an onyx mask was throwing explosives. Stiles quickly backtracked and pinned Y/N against the wall with her back to it and his face mere millimeters away from hers and their foreheads touching.
“There’s a guy down there, be quiet,” Stiles whispered quickly. In spite of the dire situation, Stiles’ stomach turned to butterflies at the proximity. He could smell the mint gum she had been chewing earlier from her breath and the feel of her against him was nothing but intoxicating. Their eyes met and Stiles saw the fear in her irises and he gently held her face to reassure her that he’d protect her. When the next explosion seemed to be farther away, he peeked around the corner again and found the figure to be gone.
“Thank you,” Y/N breathed out when Stiles let up on his hold on her to the wall.
“You’re welcome. Can you still walk?” he asked her, noticing that her scarf was now soaked in blood from her knee. Y/N nodded and took Stiles’ hand once again.
Through the screams and explosions, Stiles held Y/N’s hand tight and led them both out of the building where the police, fire department, ambulances and SWAT teams were helping people out of the building and into ambulances depending on injuries.
“Come on, let’s get you checked out,” Stiles said and started to lead her to the medical personnel with their hands tightly clasped together.
“Stiles!” he heard his father’s voice yell from behind him. He turned and saw his dad in his uniform rushing towards his son. The two embraced and the sheriff looked over Stiles.
“Are you okay?! Your head’s got blood on it,” he said.
“Dad, I’m fine, I’ve gotta get her to the hospital, she’s got a nasty cut on her knee,” Stiles rushed and turned back to Y/N, who was starting to stumble.
“Okay, I’ll meet you there once this is under control. Stay safe,” his dad said.
“Come on, I’ll carry you,” Stiles offered, and Y/N nodded. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he carried her to where the medical workers were. He noticed Melissa and called out to her.
“Have you seen Scott?” Stiles asked and lowered Y/N onto a bed so Melissa could examine her.
“He and Kira went to Deaton’s after he fought off one of the guys,” she said to him, then turned to Y/N. “Are you with us, sweetie?”
Y/N nodded, “Yeah. I’m okay.”
“Well, I wouldn’t say that. You need to go to the hospital, but you don’t need an ambulance. Stiles, can you take her?” Melissa asked and he nodded.
“Come on, doll,” Stiles said and carried Y/N to his jeep and loaded her in. On the ride to the hospital, Stiles felt like he was being chased, which he brushed off as excess adrenaline from the events that had just occurred. His main focus was getting Y/N to the hospital, not the fact that he was hearing his name being called or the dark figures that seemed to follow him.
~*~
Stiles awoke with a start and found himself in a dim room that he didn’t recognize. He could only the faint outlines of the white tile floor that matched the walls. He was in a cold sweat and he looked around frantically. He saw nothing but the dim walls, floor and ceiling that seemed to go on endlessly and felt nothing but despair and panic. The room was cold and as he got out of what he assumed was a bed, he heard movement echo around him—he faintly made out footsteps across the tile, but saw nothing around him.
“Hello?” he called out weakly. The last thing he remembers before he woke in this strange place was taking Y/N to the hospital and then sitting in the waiting room. He must have fallen asleep, and now he’s dreaming, he concluded. He wasn’t too keen on this one, though, so he did his best to wake up.
Before he could try, though, a familiar eerie whisper called his name seemingly from all around him. He couldn’t pinpoint where the voice was coming from, and he was overwhelmed by the sound.
“Who’s there?!” Stiles demanded into the dark. Out from the shadows emerged a black shadowy figure with no discernable features. Stiles managed to identify this cloud of blackness as the voice that was speaking to him.
“I am,” the creature spoke.
“Who… what are you?” Stiles urged.
“Something everyone has,” the figure continued.
“I don’t have time for this, buddy. Either answer me or leave me alone,” Stiles said and started to look for a way out.
The creature laughed darkly. “I can never leave you, Stiles. I am something everyone has and nobody can lose.”
Stiles’ confusion washed away at the moderately threatening tone and his blood ran cold as he faced the creature. Stiles expected a black, shapeless cloud of dark, but was faced instead with a carbon copy of himself. Stiles felt his heart race as he looked at the creature who wore his skin, and Stiles noticed that there was a significant difference between the two—the creature that copied Stile’s body had a sinister air about it and an expression of smug evil. Stiles didn’t know he could make such a terribly haunting expression, but he also guessed that the creature had more to do with that.
“What are you?” Stiles asked with a shaken voice.
“I’m something everyone has, but nobody can lose,” the creature repeated and took a step towards Stiles.
Stiles’ eyes went wide, and his breathing stopped as the creature’s expression became more ominous. Stiles spoke next, barely above a whisper.
“A shadow...”

“I’m glad you are okay. Where’s Stiles?” Deaton asked Scott.
“He’s at the hospital with Y/N. Apparently she got cut pretty bad,” Scott explained.
“I’m assuming she doesn’t know about the true cause of her injuries,” Deaton surmised.
Scott nodded. “I thought it was best to drag as few people as possible into this.”
Deaton nodded and pulled out a stack of books. “Good call.”
“Have you ever heard of this before? Scott could barely land a hit on it. It was like fighting a ghost!” Kira explained.
Deaton took a breath and looked through his pile. “It could be any number of things, including an actual ghost.”
“So Beacon University has a poltergeist now?” Derek’s voice called from behind the group as he entered the back room.
“I’m glad you got my message,” Scott said.
“I came as soon as I could,” Derek responded. “What’s going on?”
“The school was attacked by what the rest of society is calling a domestic terrorist organization. Scott managed to corner one of the members and fight it, so we know a little more than the authorities,” Deaton said as he flipped through the books.
“What was it? A werewolf?” Derek asked.
“I wish. No matter how close I got, I couldn’t seem to get my hands on it. It was fast, and it could manipulate objects. They had easily fifty explosives on them…” Scott explained in a tone of disbelief and shame. Kira sighed empathetically and rubbed his back.
Deaton landed on a page and read to himself before letting out a sigh and placing the book down on the metal table face up.
“The Shadow Man, or Night Ghost. A demon summoned by a strong force in the supernatural,” Deaton began.
“The Nemeton…” Scott interjected.
“…and can only survive by possessing a human host. The Shadow Man’s only purpose is to bring darkness,” Deaton continued.
“That’s lovely…” Kira commented sarcastically.
“So what was it doing at Beacon University?” Scott asked.
“Probably looking for a human host. It says here, ‘Shadow Man can only possess a being in which darkness has already spread’…” Deaton read aloud.
“So someone who is already evil?” Derek asked. “Makes this job simple enough.”
“We’re not killing people, Derek,” Kira said, and Scott agreed with a nod and a disapproving look at Derek.
“It might not be that simple. Darkness in people can come in many different forms. Sure, it can be evil, but it can also be depression or trauma,” Deaton concluded and turned the page.
“Well, college is the best place to find depressed adults, so I suppose it’s a smart move,” Derek shrugged.
Scott rolled his eyes and spoke up, “So how do we stop it from possessing someone?”
Deaton looked up and told Scott plainly, “If the Shadow Man is really what we’re dealing with, it’s already possessed someone. The MO, if you will, is a disaster to distract and disguise the possession. In this case, I believe the destruction of the school was the distraction so that Shadow Man could possess his target, and it could be any human who was in or around that school.”
The room fell silent for a moment, but Scott spoke up. “Okay. How do we find out who is possessed?”
Deaton shook his head. “I’m not sure. The goal of the Ghost is to inflict darkness wherever it roams, so I guess anyone who starts to show signs of hurting others for no reason until I can do more research…”
“How do we kill it?” Derek asked bluntly. Scott and Kira looked at him in disbelief. Derek shrugged, “What? It’s an important question.”
“I’m not sure there is a way to kill it given that it’s a spirit… The book mentions a ritual to trap it, but obviously it’s never been successful. I’ll keep looking into it, you guys just focus on making sure your friends are okay,” Deaton told them.
“We should get to the hospital to check on Y/N and Stiles, see if they saw anything,” Kira suggested.
“I’ll go to the Nemeton and see if I can get any clues,” Derek said.
“Good idea. We’ll meet back at your place tonight,” Scott said and the group left the animal clinic.

Y/N was completely shaken up after the events of earlier today. After she gave her statement to the police, she was escorted back to the now nearly flattened school by a sheriff’s deputy named Jordan.
“Hey, you’re Scott and Stiles’ friend, right?” he said on the way back to the parking lot so Y/N could get her car.
“Um, yeah…” Y/N said. “Do you know where they are?”
The officer shrugged. “Stiles took, like, a ten-minute nap in the waiting room, then got up and said he had to go. He’s probably at the sheriff’s station with his dad.”
“Thanks. I’m just glad he’s okay,” Y/N remarked.
When Y/N got out of the shower, she looked at the large bruise that her shoulder had gotten in the explosion. She thought about how much worse it would have been if Stiles hadn’t been there to protect her and her heart swelled up with gratitude. She has very few fond memories of Stiles from when they were growing up, but lately he had seemed to have changed for the better. She had always been mildly attracted to him, even when he was making her life miserable for a few moments throughout her day, and now that they were both grown, she felt like they could mend their checkered past together. When he invited her to have drinks with him, she was skeptical, but by the end of the night, she felt her old feelings resurface. She remembered how he had kissed her and how she didn’t want to pull away, but felt too guilty to not. Seeing him in her class made her heart jump, but she did what she had always done—put on a brave face and deal with it. After the events of yesterday, her feelings for him only grew. The compassion and care he showed for her in that life-threatening and terrifying situation gave her hope that they maybe could have a future together.
She got dressed for bed and wrapped her sutures in gauze for the night and thought about how Stiles was doing. She had texted him once she got home from the hospital yesterday, but he hadn’t replied. She had texted Scott to ask if he had come back home, and it gave her comfort when Scott said Stiles was fine and back at their apartment.
Suddenly, Y/N heard a knock at her door. She cautiously got up and answered to find Stiles standing before her with an unreadable expression.
“Stiles! Hey, come in,” she said and let the man into her dorm. “What’s up? How are you feeling?”
“Eh, I’m alright. Got this one annoying problem, though,” he said.
“Oh? What’s that?” Y/N asked him.
“You keep trying to talk to me,” he said coldly.
Y/N felt crushed. After all this time and everything he had done for her, he hadn’t changed. Her feelings for him would have to be scrubbed away all over again, and she felt like crying, but instead she spoke up like she always had.
“Okay, well, fine then. Just remember, you are the one who wanted to talk to me in the first place, so you can blame yourself for that one,” Y/N told him. Stiles looked smug.
“Aw, did I hurt your feelings?” he mocked.
“Listen, I don’t know what your problem is, but you seriously need to grow up, Stilinski,” Y/N said through disappointment.
Stiles advanced towards her in a threatening way and Y/N was beginning to get scared. He had never looked at her that way before—his eyes held nothing but dark disdain. His once honey-brown colored eyes that Y/N came to care for were now almost black.
“No, it’s you who needs to grow up. Get your head out of the clouds, Y/N. I’ll never feel the same about you—ever. Why do you think I never wanted to be around you, huh? And now you’ve come back into my life for some unknown reas—”
“Get out. Right now,” Y/N interrupted. She couldn’t hear any more of his hurtful words, so she opened the door and told him to leave.
Stiles stretched a sly and smug smirk on his face, then turned and left the building.
Y/N couldn’t contain her tears as he drove away. The man she felt so strongly for had just so coldly rejected her and she felt like a black hole had erupted in her heart. She sobbed for hours and hadn’t felt this lost and alone in a very long time, possibly ever—she wasn’t quite sure. Eventually, Y/N fell asleep holding a pillow against her chest and face, for she was awoken by a text from Scott.
~*~
Scott and Kira walked into the hospital to find Stiles, but Melissa had told them that he had left after being cleared.
“Mom, is Y/N still here?” Scott asked. Melissa looked at her computer and nodded. “Yup, room 8.”
“Stiles would never leave her in a hospital by herself… Something’s up,” Scott mumbled to his mother and Kira.
“Well, he did just go through some pretty hefty stuff. Heftier than usual,” Melissa explained.
Scott shook his head. “No, he’s been in love with this girl for years, he’s never leave her even if he felt like he was dying…”
“You don’t think..?” Kira offered.
Scott sighed, “I’m going to go check on him. Kira, go to the Nemeton with Derek in case he’s there.”
“Right. Be careful, Scott,” she said to him.
Scott rode his motorbike to his and Stiles’ building and found the blue jeep parked in its usual spot. Scott texted Kira the update and headed inside, but before he could enter, his phone vibrated with a text from Deaton: The possessed person should have a black spot on them somewhere, almost like a singe mark or a bruise. Scott didn’t know what his friend was feeling or if he was possessed, so he did his best to clear his mind and act normal.
“Stiles?! Stiles are you home?” Scott called through the apartment as he entered.
“In here,” Stiles’ voice said from his room. Scott rushed to the room and found the door halfway open and Stiles inside, changing his clothes. Scott noticed a blackened part of Stiles’ lower back before his friend turned to face him, and Scott began to fear the worst.
“Thank god you’re okay,” Scott said and hugged Stiles. Stiles hugged him back, but Scott felt like something was slightly off about the man who stood with him. “That’s one hell of a bruise back there. I’m glad you managed to get away with just that.”
Stiles laughed a little, “Yeah, me too. Is Kira okay? Your mom said you guys went to Deaton, and you seem fine, so is she hurt?”
Scott chose his words carefully. “She had a few bumps and bruises, so Deaton told her to rest, but she should be totally normal in a few hours or so.”
Stiles nodded and put a shirt on. “Good, I’m glad.”
“Did you see Y/N at all today?” Scott asked.
Stiles appeared to think for a moment, then said, “No, I don’t think so. I don’t remember seeing her before the explosions started.”
Scott nodded. “Maybe she got away.”
Just then, Scott’s phone buzzed with a text from Y/N: Is Stiles back home?
Deciding not to worry her too much, Scott replied: Yeah, he’s here. He’s okay.
“What was that?” Stiles asked.
“It was Y/N. She was asking about you,” Scott began. “I guess she heard about what happened and wanted to make sure you were okay without bothering you.”
Stiles nodded. “I should probably go see her, then.”
Scott was backed into a corner. He didn’t want to raise suspicion, but he also knew that Stiles was possibly possessed and dangerous. He supposed that tailing him would have to suffice. “Yeah, that might be good.”
It was nightfall by the time Stiles left to visit Y/N, and Scott had communicated with Derek and Kira his plans. The two of them were to wait until Scott arrived at Derek’s penthouse after Scott had more evidence. Scott and Stiles arrived at the same time to Y/N’s dorm and in an effort to not make his presence known, Scott remained on the roof and honed his ears to hear what their conversation was about.
Scott was disgusted with what he heard from Stiles’ mouth, and concluded that the being that looked like his best friend was nothing close. Scott knew Stiles fairly well, and he’d never treat anyone that harshly—especially the girl he’d wanted since seventh grade.
Scott texted Kira: On my way.
“So, what did you find out?” Derek asked Scott when he arrived.
Scott took a breath and shook his head, “I think The Shadow Man got him. He said he hadn’t seen Y/N all day, but he drove her to the hospital this afternoon, and when I heard what he said to her… We have to find a way to fix this.”
“Right. Let’s see what Deaton’s got,” Kira said. The three of them headed over to the animal clinic and found Deaton on the floor of his back room with books strewn everywhere and a coffee mug in his hands.
“Deaton, we have a problem,” Scott announced.
“Did you find out who is possessed?” Deaton asked and stood up.
Scott nodded. “It’s Stiles… He’s possessed, I’m sure of it. He had the mark you mentioned. The black spot on his back.”
Deaton sighed and hung his head. “Poor Stiles… Do you know where he is now? The Shadow Man could be doing some serious damage to Stiles, and then it will spread out throughout the whole city.”
“I’ve got Noah keeping me updated. So far nothing that can’t be undone, my mom admitted him to the hospital for some pretty extensive and bogus tests, so he should be there a while,” Scott said.
“How much time do we have?” Deaton asked.
“Mom said max 24 hours, so probably less.”
“How can we save him? You mentioned that there was a ritual?” Kira asked hopefully.
Deaton nodded. “It’s got a few moving parts to it. First, we need to make him unconscious so that we can access his mind. Then, we have to go in and ‘give him light’ the book says. Once The Shadow Man shows himself in our world, we have to trap him immediately in a container made from the supernatural with runes etched onto the sides of it.”
“What do you mean, give him light? Like shove him in the sunshine?” Derek asked.
Deaton shook his head. “I’m not sure… The ritual has never been successful, and I think that might be why.”
“What’s been tried in the past?” Scott asked.
“Torches, candles, and a flashlight back in the 60s… Nothing worked,” Deaton said.
The group fell silent and thought for a moment.
“What if… it’s not physical light that we have to bring to his mind. You said before that darkness can be anything—depression, anger, or evil. What if what we bring as light is happiness, peace, and good…” Kira suggested.
Deaton stood up and looked impressed and thoughtful. “I don’t think anyone has ever thought about that before… But you might be right. The last known occurrence of Shadow Man possession was in a suicidal teenager.”
“Well that’s definitely dark,” Derek said. “But what do we do about Stiles’ light?”
“We bring the light of his life with us,” Scott said definitively.
~*~
“You want me to do what, now?” Y/N asked after Scott and Kira had come over and explained what happened to Stiles, which Y/N didn’t believe. The day after Y/N had been through a horrible experience and had her heart broken, her two acquaintances had come over to ask for her help. It was nearing late afternoon after Scott and Kira had finished their story.
“We don’t have a whole lot of time. We need you to go with us into an astral realm and into Stiles’ subconscious and expel an ancient spirit that’s possessing him,” Kira stated plainly.
Y/N looked between the two of them with her mouth agape. “I’ve kind of been through a lot these past couple of days, so I’d really appreciate not being punked right now.”
“We’re not kidding, okay? And we’re running out of time. Please, we just need you to believe us. You’re the only one who can save him,” Kira pleaded.
“I don’t think so. Even if you weren’t pulling my leg here, Stiles doesn’t have any sort of good feelings towards me. He basically told me he hates me yesterday, so it’s kind of a moot point,” Y/N said with a shrug.
Kira looked at Scott, whose phone just buzzed.
“Noah’s got Stiles in cuffs. We have to hurry,” Scott said lowly and looked at Y/N. “I need you to believe us and I need you to believe us now. So don’t pass out or anything, okay?”
“Why would I—oh,” Y/N started, but then realized what Scott was talking about. Right before her eyes, he morphed into something out of a TV show. His eyes glowed red and his mouth bore fangs that looked to be sharper than razors. Y/N was absolutely dumbfounded.
“I’m a werewolf, Y/N. Things you read about in legends and storybooks—most of it is real. And what’s happening to Stiles is real. What wasn’t real was what he said to you yesterday. I’ve been by his side and he’s been by mine since we were six years old, and I know when he cares about someone. And he cares very deeply for you. So we need you for this, to save Stiles,” Scott proclaimed as he stood up.
Y/N took a deep breath and stood up with him. “You won’t hurt me, will you..?” Scott shook his head. In response, Y/N silently asked to touch Scott’s face and look at his eyes. To her fascination and surprise, everything was completely real. There was no sign of falsehoods like prosthetic makeup or colored contacts—Scott really did look like that as he stood before her. Which meant that everything he said was true—and Stiles was in trouble.
“Okay, what do I need to do?” Y/N asked.
~*~
“The most important thing to know is that Stiles is still in there and whatever you say to him, he can hear, even if The Shadow Man is the one reacting. Even if Shadow Man tells you that Stiles is gone, he’s lying,” Deaton told the group outside of the sheriff’s station where Stiles was being held to protect himself and others. Deaton turned to Y/N and spoke profoundly, “You must never give up hope. For this ritual to work, you have to find Stiles in his mind and call out to him. Act on instinct, not reason, okay?”
Y/N took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay… instinct…”
Deaton handed her a syringe. “This is dexmedetomidine. There is enough in this syringe to knock him out. After that I can monitor him and keep him under if need be, but you should give the first dose. Even under the Shadow Man’s control, he wouldn’t lay a hand on you. It can go into any muscle or if you can get a vein, great.”
Y/N nodded and took the syringe. The group gathered the supplies for the ritual—various herbs and enchanted objects as well as medical supplies—and headed into the station. Y/N had never felt so nervous before, and she could almost feel herself shaking. When she walked in and saw Stiles sitting on the floor with his wrists cuffed twice and his mouth taped shut, she immediately felt a sense of urgency. His eyes were darker than they had been yesterday, and Y/N felt an ache in her chest for him.
“We’ll set up. Go ahead, Y/N,” Deaton encouraged.
Y/N rushed to Stiles and sat on the floor with him. She noticed out of the corner of her eye Stiles’ dad watching their interaction.
“Hey, Stiles…” Y/N began calmly. “I have to give you something. And it’s going to really suck for you, but it’s for the best, okay?”
Stiles eyes grew softer upon looking at her, and she saw a tear escape his eyes. Y/N felt a wave of guilt wash over her and she wiped the tears from his cheek. She had never seen Stiles show that sort of emotion and part of her thought that Shadow Man had done it on purpose to manipulate her, but she chose to believe that Stiles really was in there, he could hear her, and he was terrified.
“I know you’re scared, but it’s going to be okay, I promise,” Y/N said with her hands on his face. For a split second, Y/N thought she saw his dark eyes turn to the warm brown that she had always been fond of, so with a swift movement, she removed the tape from over his mouth.
“Please, you don’t have to do this, it’s me, okay?! It’s Stiles, please don’t, Y/N… I don’t want to do this, please, please,” Stiles begged through tears.
Y/N rested her head against his and she took the cap off of the syringe as she spoke to him, “It’s okay, Stiles. Don’t worry.”
She gave his forehead a tender kiss as she pushed the needle into his bicep and depressed to plunger. He fell limp in her arms in a matter of seconds, and to make sure that Shadow Man wasn’t manipulating her, she checked his pupils for a reflex, and she received none.
“Okay, he’s out,” Y/N said and supported him against the wall. He looked so fragile with tired eyes, drained expression, and messy hair.
“Alright. Remember—instinct,” Deaton instructed.
Y/N, Scott, and Kira sat next to Stiles in a circle with Y/N and Scott on either side of him. Noah uncuffed his son and got out of the way so that Deaton could monitor Stiles’ vitals while the drug was in his system. Y/N took Stiles’ hand in hers and gave it a small squeeze before Scott and Kira’s hands joined and the four made a circle, as stated in the ritual.
“Close your eyes and relax. Let your minds become one,” Deaton spoke. After what felt like a split second of hearing incantation, Y/N was thrust into darkness. She couldn’t see anything—not even her hands in front of her.
“Kira, Y/N! Are you guys here?” Y/N heard Scott’s voice say in the darkness. Y/N turned toward the sound and found Scott in the darkness.
“What is this place?” Y/N asked.
“We’re in Stiles’ subconscious…” Kira’s voice said from behind Scott and Y/N.
“Come on, we have to find him. Stick together, and we’ll find him…” Scott encouraged and took Y/N’s hand. The three began to walk forward in the darkness. After a moment, the haze slowly began to clear and Y/N could see a light emitting from the three of them.
“Holy shit,” Scott chuckled and looked at their joined hands.
“Stiles!!” Y/N called out instinctively. “Stiles, where are you?!”
Y/N heard a muffled voice and ran towards it. As she drew closer to the voice, she saw the light emitting from her grow stronger and she saw, about ten feet from her, a figure on the floor that was shaking.
Y/N knelt next to the body and placed her hand on the person’s back gently. “Stiles?”
The figure rolled over and Y/N saw the anguished and tear-stained face of Stiles—the real Stiles. He appeared to be bound by some sort of rope and his mouth shut by the same or similar material. When he saw her, his eyes went wide and he managed to pull himself upright and tried to wiggle out of his restraints.
“Here, let us help you,” Y/N said. “Scott, can you help me? I don’t know what I’m dealing with.”
Scott rushed to Stiles’ back and further illuminated the area so they could all see better. Y/N managed to find an end of the cloth-like material that kept his mouth from speaking and pulled it away from Stiles’ face. At the same time, Scott released Stiles’ arms and hands.
“It’s so good to see you,” Stiles breathed out and wrapped his arms around Y/N in a close embrace. “Please, let this be real…”
“It is. And we’re here to help you beat this, okay?” Y/N said in a reassuring voice and rubbed Stiles’ back.
“What is this place? How did you guys find me?” Stiles asked. “And why are you glowing? I mean, I’ve seen some weird shit, but I’ve only seen your eyes glow, Scott.”
Suddenly, Stiles was pulled by an invisible force and bars were placed around him about six feet away from the group. Y/N noticed that Stiles, who was shrouded in darkness when they first arrived, was now glowing dimly.
“How dare you enter here?!” a booming and gruff voice said from no discernable location.
“Guys, run! Get out of here!!” Stiles pleaded.
“We’re not leaving you!” Scott argued.
Y/N had a theory about how to rescue Stiles, and she had no idea if it would work or if it was even a good idea, but she had to do something and fast. She ran over to where Stiles was held in a cage and gripped the black bars. They felt stiff at first, but the more Y/N held them, the softer and thinner they became.
“Stiles. We’re in your subconscious. You’ve been possessed by a ghost, and we’re here to help you break through it,” Y/N said to him through the bars. He was now standing as close as he could without having his face pressed against the cage bars. He looked down at Y/N’s hands that had nearly disintegrated the bars she held.
“I don’t think I can, Y/N… He’s too strong,” Stiles said in a hushed tone.
Y/N shook her head. “He may be strong, but you are stronger, okay? I’ve seen you conquer so many obstacles in your life and come out on top. You can break through this, I know you can.”
Stiles shook his head. “Maybe… maybe it’s better if I just stay here. I mean, I’ve hurt the people I care about.”
Y/N managed to get through the bars and she now stood before Stiles without any inhibition or barrier. Before he could say anything, Y/N spoke up.
“Stiles, nobody blames you for what’s happened over the past two days. And if you’re staying here, then so am I, because I don’t know what I’d do without you, Stiles,” Y/N declared and tears welled up in her eyes. “Most of my life you and I have been at odds, but the fact still remains that I care so much about you that sometimes I can barely stand myself.”
Even though Y/N’s body was elsewhere, the emotions she felt and the tears she shed felt completely real. And when she reached for Stiles’ hands and held them, that was real, too.
“Every time you’d talk to me, even now when we’re grown up, it’s the best thing that’s ever happened and it keeps happening. What I’m trying to say is… I forgive you for teasing me and making grade school a little bit more difficult because at least you gave me a chance to be around you and to be part of your life in some capacity. That is a gift I will never take for granted and one that I’ll always treasure. I’m sorry I walked away when you kissed me. I wanted to stay and be with you, but I was terrified of how I felt and still feel about you. Please be strong like I know you can be, Stiles,” Y/N spoke with conviction. With every word, she grew closer to him, and looked into those warm honey-brown eyes. Before he could respond, as a last stich effort, she placed her hands on his cheeks and pulled his lips against hers with urgency.
A blinding light invaded Y/N’s eyes and she felt herself hit a hard floor. Her eyes shot open and she realized that she was back in her physical body in the sheriff’s station. She sat up just in time to catch the slumping over Stiles in her lap.
“Is he breathing?!” Deaton asked. Y/N placed her ear down by Stiles’ nose and mouth and felt air flow from his nostrils and back again.
“Yeah, I think he’s just fainted,” Y/N concluded. She ran her hands over his hair and gently shook him. “Come on, Stiles… Wake up. Come on, open your eyes..”
“Did you catch The Shadow Man?” Kira asked. Deaton smiled and held up the enchanted and carved box made from Nemeton wood. A communal sigh of relief was exhaled by everyone in the room, and Y/N continued to try and wake Stiles. After a few seconds, his eyes opened and when his eyes locked with hers, Y/N saw the familiar color and warmth that she’d fallen for.
Stiles said nothing, but he smiled and placed a hand on Y/N’s cheek. Keeping his hand in place, he sat up straight and sat in front of Y/N. Without warning, his lips were on hers and she couldn’t help but kiss him back, and she didn’t pull away this time. When they could no longer hold their breath, Stiles pulled away and rested his forehead on Y/N’s.
In a soft tone, Stiles whispered, “I’m in love with you.”

Idk if you have already answered this, but when/how do you think Renji & Rukia *officially* said the big “L” words??
This is a very interesting question to me. First of all, have I already answered this? Well. I have written this scene into three different fanfics, all which take place at very different points in time (once at the beginning of the 2-year timeskip, once in the Royal Realm, and once post-TYBWA), with an additional time Renji slipped it casually and didn’t notice (Rukia did), and once where Rukia shouted that she loved him and all their filthy urchin friends at him. I surely have at least one more in the works, and who am I kidding? I am never going to stop writing variations of this. But this is not a question of when I would have liked them to, it’s when I think they did.
I did write an extensive meta once on when they hooked up, and this is a related, but not-entirely-the-same question.
So, a) of all, I am obviously a fan of slow-burn, and b) between Rukia’s emotional constipation, Renji’s ridiculous patience, and a looming Nii-sama, there’s a real good chance that it took a looooooong time, and if that’s the case, I think the confession was simultaneous with the hooking up. I realize now that when I wrote that, I did not consider at what point in the timeskip they hooked up, but I think it does make a difference. I had never really considered the case where they hook up right away (as in any time between right after the SS arc through the first half of the timeskip), but I think that if they did, it would take forrrrrreeeeeeeevvvverrrrr for them to say it, like, probably TYBWA or maybe after. I have never written this scenario and now I desperately want to, THANKS ANON THIS IS DEFINITELY WHAT I NEEDED IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW. What if Rukia screamed it at Renji’s back while he was dragging Ichigo off to go fight Yhwach? What if they said it all super-casual when Rukia leaves Renji to fight the Luchador guy whose name I refuse to type? MY DING DANG HEART.
Oh, also, even though I kind of hate this trope, I have been kicking around this idea that it’s the end of the timeskip, Byakuya gives Renji some super lame, quarter-ass compliment, and Renji makes the Big Decision: Kuchiki-taichou has Accepted Him, It Is Time. He gets his New Years haori drycleaned, buys an assload of camellias, makes a completely unnecessary reservation at Rukia’s favorite shitty ramen stand, and Rukia’s like, “Hey, babe, do you mind if we postpone a week? I gotta go stick this magic sword in Ichigo” and that is why Renji is so phenomenally weird during the Fullbring arc.
Also, I never got around to addressing the case of: did they hook up in Inuzuri/the Academy? which I will now.
The answer is no.
A headcanon I firmly adhere to is that no one in Inuzuri expresses affection out loud. It’s bad luck. You never, never say it. People die constantly in Inuzuri, and it’s treated as a natural and good thing by people in higher districts-- life is shit there, get back in the resurrection cycle, cowards. To admit that there’s something to hold onto there is a radically optimistic point of view, and I find that very romantic and heartbreaking and is part of why I OTP them.
Now, in my fanfic, these two blessed morons tempted fate by embarking on some horny teen make-outs and stopped abruptly when one of their friends died, but I only did this for fanfic reasons, I do not actually headcanon this. I think that Renji had been in love with Rukia since late Inuzuri days and was aware of it, and his big plan was to CRUSH IT!! at the Academy, land a sweet gig, and then be like, “Rukia, behold, I am the GOAT! I have passed a gazillion tests and beaten up Kira so many times and I have been offered an actual paying job. It’s at the squad with the nerdy glasses captain, but money’s money. Also, I love you, like, so, so much, will you marry me? Please, my crops are dying. I have a character recommendation from my zanjutsu instructor.”
I think at the same time, Rukia loved Renji in a “this guy is literally half of my heart I need him” but not necessarily in a romantic way, the same way she will later come to love the Karakura kids. She went through some really traumatic self-worth times at the academy and definitely could not read whatever insane signals he was giving off. Rukia has a lot of tight control over her emotions, at least as far as denying them, and wouldn’t let herself be in love with him. If he had made it to that insane proposal he had planned, she would have been like “wat” and then punched him in the face.
Did I have a point? I do not remember. Right, when did they drop the L bomb? Probably New Year’s, timeskip year 2.  But really, any time you want.
