Slice House, 1000 El Camino Real C, Belmont, CA 94002
It’s a Slice House (pizza sold by the slice but not just any slice house). Slice House is owned by Tony Gemignani, the man who wrote the Pizza Bible, won countless pizza competitions in Italy and runs the International School of Pizza. The man knows and loves pizza and his pizzas are made with quality ingredients like 00 flour and his own canned tomatoes.
You can order whole pizzas or come in for a slice of New York, Sicilian, Grandma, Detroit, and California style pizzas. They also have sandwiches, salads, wine, beer, cookies, and ice cream sandwiches.
During my visit, there were 7 kinds of pizza to choose from (for slices). They’ll heat your slice for you.
Popeye slice ($6.50): about the size of two slices of regular pizza and enough for lunch. The Popeye featured a thin crust; the front of it flopped (it was very thin) but it held up to the sauce and toppings. The crust was thicker towards the edges and the edges were a bit puffy. The crust was soft and chewy without being too hard or too doughy. While there wasn’t much spinach, there was an abundance of cheese, dollops of tomato sauce, dollops of ricotta, and hits of garlic and red pepper flavor. So good! A bit greasy but it’s cheesy pizza.
Fountain drinks come with free refills. The interior is very casual with booths.
5 out of 5 stars

Explanation:
CIGAR GUY and GLASSES GUY ordered an eight-piece rectangular pizza to share, with two corner pieces and two middle pieces on each half.
Sitting on opposite sides of the pizza and each taking four pieces in turn, CIGAR GUY accused GLASSES GUY of breaching pizza etiquette when GLASSES GUY took not only both corner pieces from the half closest to himself, but also "reached across" and took one corner piece from the half closest to CIGAR GUY. This left CIGAR GUY with only one corner piece and three middle pieces, and GLASSES GUY with the inverse.
CIGAR GUY asserts that GLASSES GUY is only entitled to the pieces of pizza on the half he originally chose pieces from, and is essentially arguing that pizza-sharing must be done not just numerically (even amount of pieces) but symmetrically (all shared pieces must correspond).
GLASSES GUY disagrees, and says that not only is he under no obligation to only take from his original half (since it's purely circumstantial, if anything), but that he took the third corner piece specifically because it was smaller than the remaining middle piece on his half.
Whether corner pieces are uniquely desirable (i.e., the best part) or if this argument is just a matter of principle is unknown.

Krispy Pizza - College Ave in New Brunswick, NJ
Krispy Pizza is supposedly a "go-to" pizza spot of sorts in New Brunswick. I had seen some incredible looking pictures of their slices online and it's been on my list to check out for a few months now. I've passed before because normally when I'm in town I go to Wings Over for arguably the best wings I've ever had in the Tri-State area. HOWEVER they were closed that day and since I still had some time to kill I figured it was time to try Krispy.
Unfortunately, it seems like Krispy is all hype and no substance. They had some really unique options including the two I got: a Fat Krispy (essentially a fat sandwich in pizza form) and a sicilian pepperoni vodka with hot honey on top. Unfortunately, the uniqueness ended up being their downfall as the amount of competing flavors on each slice pretty much ruined them. The Fat Krispy had the same problem as a fat sandwich where all the flavors blend together and you don't really taste anything. The pepperoni had kind of the opposite effect where you taste a little too much of everything. It was hot from the honey but also creamy from the vodka and honestly it made me feel kind of nauseous. On top of all that, these slices are just too expensive for that kind of mediocrity. I paid close to $10 for two VERY mid slices of pizza. If I ever find myself in the area again I might try a plain, but I am in no rush to go back. There is much better (and cheaper) pizza elsewhere in New Brunswick.
