"Just so you know. I've never done that before. Go home with a guy after meeting him and his cute baby boy in the restaurant bathroom line." Y/N said as he pulled the covers more over his naked body, as if that action would quell the embarrassment he felt sitting in bed next to the very naked ginger stallion. He just moved into town and thought of trying the local cuisine. Though, he could never have imagined that he would be hooking up with a young father.
The guy, whose name was Archie Andrews, chuckled as he looked at Y/N. "What? You don't seduce single dads for a living?" Y/N knew that he was joking, but he still blushed hard. "I mean, jumping the sack with someone and having sex with them in only a short amount of time of knowing them. Doesn't that seem, I don't know, slutty?"
"It can be. But we didn't do anything wrong. All we did was make love." They both blushed.
"So, Archie? What do you do for a living?"
"I work at a construction company. I play music on the weekends and I'm a full time parent. You?"
"Nurse." Y/N said.
"Cool. So, I have to ask. You don't regret anything last night right?" Archie asked.
"I don't. Last night was... Wonderful and I'd like to do it again sometime. If you're up for it."
Archie chuckles. "Good." He leaned over and kissed Y/N as they went for round five of passion sex.

Riverdale 7x20 - Goodbye, Riverdale (Spoilers)
Jesus, this was depressing. After seven years, Riverdale comes to an end. And I can absolutely guarantee that nobody ever expected it to end like this. That being said, while this is not the ending I would have chosen, I also can't say I dislike this ending. We watched these character going through year after year of hell and the fact that most of them have a good life and there is a happy-ish ending to this...well, I'm content with it. Riverdale, for me, probably will be the first four seasons, but I don't hate this ending.
Anyway, we start with an Eight Six year old Betty who's learned Jughead has passed away. Betty is now the last of the gang to survive. Betty wants to visit Riverdale one last time and her granddaughter promises to take her there the next day. That night Betty is visited by Angel/Writer Jughead who takes her back to the last day of high school so she can see her friends one last time. During these moments we find out what happened to all of the characters. And I'm just going to go through this real quick.
Ms. Andrews will fall in love with a woman who will live in the with Ms. Andrews until she passes away. Polly will end up having her twins (Juniper and Dagwood). Alice will eventually divorce Hal (I think, my cable screwed up and I missed part of this), become a flight attendant, and marry someone else.
During junior year of high school, Fangs records a hit single and is able to convince Midge's parents to let him marry her. Their happiness is short lived as, not long after high school, Fangs goes out on tour and is killed in a bus accident. Midge and her daughter will live off the royalties of Fang's two songs (right).
Pop's apparently dies before the kids graduate high school. That's the grave Betty is visiting. The writers clearly are choosing violence here.
Clay and Kevin move to Harlem together. Clay becomes a professor at Columbia (I think) and Kevin opens his own off Broadway production. Kevin will die of old age in his sleep and Clay will pass away a few weeks later sitting on a park bench.
Cheryl and Toni move west and live a more bohemian life. They have a son named Dale (after Riverdale). They will live a long and happy life together.
Reggie will go on to play basketball for the Lakers and then become the coach at Riverdale High. He has two sons who will run the Mantle used car lot. Reggie was buried in Duck Creek.
As for the core four, well they all decide during senior year to all just date each other. Yup. Well, maybe, as we never see anything happen between Archie and Jughead. After high school....
Veronica moves back to LA and becomes a big movie mogul. I don't think it's directly said, but it seems like she was the first of the four to go. I does seem like Betty, at least, looses touch with her over time.
I'm not going to go into the last Barchie scene. While I didn't particularly like that couple, what the writers did in that scene was nothing short of sadistic to those fans. But one could argue that same was done to Bughead and Varchie fans in season four. Anyway, Archie will go out west and find a woman that he decides to settle down with. He lives a long, good life with her and, when he dies, he's buried next to his father.
Jughead will create Jughead's Madhouse Magazine (Mad Magazine) and had a successful life as a writer/editor. He never marries.
Betty also creates her own magazine. (And late '60s/early '70s Betty's look is my favorite Betty look). Betty never married, but she did adopt a daughter. Which she considers her legacy, her family.
Anyway, Angel/Writer Jughead takes Betty back to the present. The next day, Betty's granddaughter takes her to Riverdale. As they pull into Pop's parking lot, the building is for sale, she discovers Betty has died.
But then young Betty steps out of a car as she has been transported to an functioning Pop's Restaurant. Jason is at the door (yep, the actor is back). And everyone is there (well, of the cast that still worked on the show). And as the story ends, Betty joins the other three at the table and in the Hereafter.
Like I said, not the way I imaged the show would ever end. Not the way I would have ended it. Still, it was a very bitter sweet ending. I shed some tears and, yeah, part of me is sad to see it end.
Of course, that part of me will soon be knocked unconscious by my sanity....

Riverdale Talk
I started watching Riverdale for the first time on May 6th of this year. I'm in the process of watching S4. I'm on S4E9. I might stop watching the show once I finish S4. My niece used to be a huge fan of the show, and had watched it from the first time it aired, up until this year, when she got a job and had to focus more on that than anything else. I asked her about the show and she told me that the first 4 seasons were the best. From S5 on, the show started dropping in quality. So, that's why I'm really debating whether to keep watching once I finish S4.
Anyway, I started watching the show and have a few favorite characters. Fred Andrews was my favorite character of all. I loved how Luke Perry played him, and I'm still so sad over Luke's death, and therefore the death of Fred. To me, Fred was the single best adult character and parent on the entire show.
My list of favorite characters is like this: Fred, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, and Toni.
I like Cheryl. Yes, she's a "mean girl", but at least the show gives us background on why she is how she is. All the abuse and mistreatment she's endured, and it's understandable that she's messed up. Most movies and shows don't give background on their "mean girls". So, this is one thing Riverdale did right.
Honestly, I wanted to like Archie, but I can't stand his character. It's hard to explain, it's just that everything he does always ends badly. I feel like he doesn't think before speaking, or doing things. And just goes full steam ahead, guns blazing and he and everyone around him have to suffer the consequences for his moronic actions.

▌🎶 ▌❝ You're..... ❞ EVERYTHING..... THE BEGINNING..... childhood best friend, his very first crush. Betty Cooper is something good in his life, always has been... always will be. She helped him so he wouldn't fall behind in school... always supports him in just...... everything he finds himself getting into. But.... what is Betty Cooper to him, truly? Besides all that... what is she now? Best friend... always. Lover? Maybe? They've never crossed that line.... could they be more than friends? Could they end up being something? What's in it for them in the long run? A life without Betty would be depressing, meaningless. Not because she supports everything he does, or has always had his back when needed. It's because she brings light into his life, the air feels fresher with her around. That golden smile just knows how to make his heart swoon. He wants to sing songs about those pearly whites, like Chip Skylark did in the Fairly Odd Parents. The Ginger Judas wants to show Betty what the world is missing out on. That she's not boring, she's not like her parents... she's her. And she's BREATHTAKING. He makes a note to himself mentally, that when he becomes somewhat a famous singer one day, he promises to dedicate every single song to Betty Cooper herself.
Reminder that she will forever & always have a place in his heart. It's big enough to fit a crowd, but he's sure Betty will take up the whole entire space in there. ❝ .....Everything, Betty. I mean... where do I start? Where do I begin to tell you how... important you are to me. My best friend.... ❞
Is there more between the two of them? Is there a chance Archie and Betty can be......a couple? Two best friends turn lovers... it's possible. But also it's risky to think... what would happen between the two if they fall apart? THE GINGER STALLION wouldn't have Betty in his life anymore now would he? That's what makes those words harder to spill out.... to lose her... would leave a mighty black hole in his heart. Revealing his feelings.... letting it all unfold and having Jesus take the wheel seemed like a lot of pressure. And Archie Andrews isn't one for pressure. Swallowing down the lump in his throat, his tongue feels dry and it's getting kinda hot in here. Clears his throat and without a thought, his hand reaches to lay down upon the blondes shoulder, giving it a good ol friendly pat--- he hates himself, why is he doing this? What even is he doing... just tell her! TELL HER! ❝ You're my bestie, Betty. Yeah. Best friend, duh. ❞ And he definitely can't call himself a ladies man if he can't even admit to Betty his true feelings... who even is this guy? What a joke.

On Characterization
I still have a crate packed with old Archie digests, somewhere. Near the tail end of my reading these, I'd started getting a kick out of seeing certain characters evolve (or devolve) in the context of a single issue. The most striking case, to me, was Mister Weatherbee.
Early Issues: your token Joyless Adult, even more stern than the kids' parents, dressed in the sorts of suits you would've found on Tintin back in 1925.
First Twenty Years: his body habitus gets locked in, but isn't as extreme as others will render it later on. What began as a bald and irate ride-sharing partner for Archie is now the heavyset principal that terrorizes the Andrews kid. He isn't terribly loquacious yet, his tendency to pontificate hasn't developed.
The Late Fifties: Samm Schwartz' predecessor renders Weatherbee as a monolith in a sack suit, a solid rectangle of a man with the alacrity and vivaciousness of the kids he's meant to shepherd. Fat jokes start to be seen in a few arcs, but aren't prominent yet.
The Sixties: Al Hartley and Bob Bolling run the show. The first one renders Weatherbee as a shape, an utter unit of a man, beset with too many neuroses to count and packing on all the precursors to Type II Diabetes the Flower Power years ignored. In the 50s, you could assert that Waldo was close to six feet for about three-fifty pounds, but Hartley scoffs at that deduction. His Weatherbee is clinically obese - morbidly so - and is oftentimes shown as being a slave to an underlying gluttonous penchant that leaves even Jughead surprised.
As for Bolling, he keeps the same shape he coined for the Little Archie strips, adds about two hundred pounds to the man and dresses him in sack suits that do nothing for his figure. Bolling's Weatherbee is sort of milquetoast, not quite packing the dynamism of the previous or of its following incarnations.
The Seventies: Samm Schwartz renders Weatherbee in a way that's at once more sedate and more expressive, with a more restrained paunch and a clear double chin. The character's signature lapel clasps start to underscore moments of self-satisfaction, Waldo's tendency towards self-aggrandizement being adequately exploited. Schwartz pulls the fifties' more grandiose characterization out of the mothballs, giving the principal an occasional Richard Griffiths-esque twang. He yells, huffs and puffs - and frequently outdoes the teens in terms of cartoon antics. He's also more of a pedagogue during this decade. Hartley's questionable closeness between the Bee and the kids is left well and truly in the dust.
The Eighties: Dan DeCarlo is a pinup guy through and through, and his designs for the Riverdale grownups betray a certain sense of constriction. In a way, it helps Weatherbee's case, whose color palette and proportions standardize into tones of brown and about two-fifty pounds. Only rarely does he deign to ink a "fat joke" strip, usually for his Archie and Me run.
The Nineties: Rex Lindsay is too busy trying to make the kids seem hip in order to care about the adults' proportions. Under his pen, Weatherbee is either slightly heavyset, morbidly obese, flat-chested or shaped like a reverse V. Proportions sometimes shift multiple times in the same story. The only mark of consistency is the little half-moon on the character's bald pate, meant to indicate a permanent spot of chrome-dome shine.
The Aughties and Onwards: the classic digest runs keep the same fluid dynamics, but the Chip Zdarsky serials shave ten years off of the Bee, while adding a bit of muscle definition. He's an accomplished outdoorsman now, with the calves to match. It's here that he's effectively toned down, perhaps as a result of the multiversal storyline that marked the years between 2018 and 2020. Having needed a steady emotional core to be believable as Geraldine Grundy's husband, he brings that mixture of empathy and no-nonsense rationality forward in setting perhaps better-suited for more vivacious spirits, like Jughead's zombie-themed limited Horror run.
It's strange, seeing how a medium needed almost a hundred years to go from "Golly, aren't adults boring?" to "Hey, guess what? Your authority figures have rich inner lives too!"

To summarise:
For once, the musical is actually relevant to the show. Betty explains the plot to make sure that every viewer is aware of this unprecedented achievement.
She leaves out the crucial detail that the protagonist suffers from bipolar disorder and not from a case of the bitches, as does Alice. Hmmm …
Alice dreams she’s back in s1, playing Stepford families with Charles, Polly and Betty. Neither Hal nor Chick are invited, which … RUDE!
Remember how Archie and Eric remodeled the Pembrooke for Veronica? Apparently, it’s now smaller, because, somehow, the Andrews residence, with its one single bathroom beats the Lodge’s abode …
Veronica relocates to Archie’s childhood bedroom.
It remains unclear whether Smithers moves in as well or stays at the Pembrooke to re-enact that scene from Risky Business.
Speaking of moving, Britta has been living in the janitor’s closet under the stairwell at school. Unfortunately, Professor Jones isn’t working at RHS anymore, so he couldn’t provide advice on how to remain undetected. She is found out by the janitor.
She could have used those 10k Veronica gave her for scoring a goal for the Bulldogs back in 5x9 to rent a room at the Five Seasons but maybe she’s saving up for college?
Some singing.
Riverdale, the writers tell us, is in a perpetual state of crisis. And whose fault is that, may I ask?
Tabitha asks Jughead to become her fake boyfriend for her dinner date with her parents. Since both she and Jughead are the only people not having had any sex since coming back to Riverdale, they decide to sing a song and kiss.
More sad songs.
There hasn’t been a single fire in Riverdale ever since Archie put together his merry band of firefighter volunteers back in 5x7 but suddenly, they are everywhere. Could it be Hiram trying to woo Archie back?
Without Kevin’s artistic direction, Cheryl’s cult is left with no followers. She uses autotune but it doesn’t change anything.
Reggie Mantle is studying to become a licensed stockbroker. Veronica is intrigued. After all, he has the approval of both her father and her sister. Wait! Is Reggie being groomed by the Lodges?! What about Nana Rose??
More sad songs again.
It is Mother’s Day in Riverdale aka Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss Day. Alice accuses Betty of living her own life. Also, of being responsible for Polly’s death. Sounds like a typical Riverdale Mother’s Day indeed.
Both Tabitha’s father and myself believe Jabitha is a passing fancy.
You know it’s serious when Archie takes off his shirt but Veronica doesn’t look.
“Where do you see us in the next 5 years?” asks Veronica. “Oof” replies Archie. Or something to that effect.
Veronica Lodge did not kill her husband in order to share a bathroom with Jughead and Uncle Frank! What’s next? Sharing closet space with Smithers?! She moves out of Archie’s house.
She probably never found out about the dogs. Small mercies.
Betty visits Kevin to sing a duet with him. Kevin, being big with musicals, is so thrilled that he offers her a second duet.
Unlike the writers, Tabitha’s dad remembers the crazy alien nights at Pop’s back in the 70s and is critical of his daughter going back there. Or leaving her 6 figure CEO job to go date the busboy. He hasn’t learnt about the Coyote Ugly nights yet. That’s ok. There’s time.
I’m living for the moment Jughead gifts him a copy of The Outcasts.
Jabitha sing and kiss again. To be honest, that is a kink that I would have associated with Kevin rather than Jughead.
Jughead should be kissed often and by someone who knows how  i.e. Betty.
Cheryl and Toni have tea Without. Singing. QUEENS!
Betty vows never to leave Alice. Alice accepts her apologies. Betty and Alice sing again the show’s moto: “And you find out you don’t have to be happy at all”. It’s true. I’m not happy at all.
Everybody sings together in front of Polly’s grave. It’s a metaphor for this season being one long funeral. The Blooper twins make an appearance. Everyone’s so shocked that the writers remembered them that no one mentions how different Juniper looks. Recast or the Mothmen? You decide!
Toffee is driving a truck down the Lonely Highway. She’s coming back to Riverdale and is ready to cut a bitch.
One down. One more funeral left.

How they spend family time together:
Archie and Veronica love to use Friday nights as family time mostly because that's when everyone is either done school/work, so they all sit in the living room with their daughter in between them. They then all decide on what movie they want to watch and normally they all like to watch up to about three movies sometimes they only get up to two movies. Archie turned to Y/n and asked...
“ Okay Y/n/n, what movies are you feeling up to watching tonight?”
Y/n turned to her dad and made her thinking face. “ I think we should watch some Disney movies.”
Both parents laugh and agree with their daughter, so Archie goes and gets his daughters three favorite movies. They then get snacks, drinks and blankets so they could enjoy the movie more.
In the middle of the first movie Y/n/n moves her feet onto her mom's lap and then puts her head on her dad's lap. Archie and Veronica both smile at each other, he then puts his arm on the side of the couch close to Veronica to lean on.
Bedtime:
Y/n was always so hard to put to bed when it came to that time. She would try and run and hide from her parents when they tried to put her to bed. Right now Y/n/n was hiding under her parents bed because they would never look under there.
Archie was looking everywhere downstairs while Veronica took the upstairs. Both of them were stressed because they couldn’t find their little girl. Archie let out a groan when he found nothing so he ran upstairs and checked their room. Veronica walked into the room and sighed.
“ I can’t find her anywhere Arch.”
Archie sighed and pulled her into a hug. What they didn’t know was that Y/n was very close to them. Y/n/n was quietly army crawling to the edge of their bed to find both her parents hugging. She then decided to join the hug because she felt left out.
Archie felt a little pair of hands go around his legs so he looked down to find Y/n/n. Archie then picked her up and hugged her. Veronica joined the hug and felt more come to know her princess was safe.
“ Alright pumpkin time for bed. Also no more hiding for long periods of time because you gave your mom and I quite a fright.” Archie said while walking with Veronica on his side.
“ Sorry daddy and mommy. It won't happen again.” Y/n said
Both of them smiled at their daughter before tucking her in and saying goodnight.
Holiday Traditions:
Christmas: It was Christmas morning when Archie and Veronica both woke up to someone jumping up on their bed.
“ Mom! Dad! Wake up it's Christmas morning. Can we please go see if Santa came.” Y/n/n said
Archie let out a chuckle before pulling Y/n into his chest to hug her. He then kissed the top of her head before she was pulled away from him. Veronica smiled and hugged her too.
“ Let’s go! Come on guys!” Y/n said
Both of them got out of bed before heading to follow Y/n to the tree. Y/n sat on the floor while her mom went to the kitchen to make some coffee while Archie went to turn the fireplace on. Veronica then came to the living room with music playing some tunes.
“ Can we open presents now?” Y/n/n said
Archie nodded and handed out the gifts to everyone. He then settled right next to Veronica on the couch.
Thanksgiving: Veronica was in the kitchen starting to make the food and desserts until the doorbell rang.
“ Archie! Can you get the door?” She yelled
Archie ran up to the door to find Betty and Jughead on the other side. Before he could greet them he heard Y/n yelling...
“ Aunt Betty! Uncle Jughead!”
Jughead got down to Y/n’s level to lift her up. “ Hey squirt” he said while tickling her sides
Archie chuckled and pulled them both into a hug before letting them in. Betty went to help Veronica in the kitchen while Jughead, Archie hung out with Y/n.
After a little while everyone came to the house and had dinner all together like one big happy family.
Best Memories:
Archie and Veronica’s favorite memory of Y/n is probably when she was first able to walk because when Archie was out in the dining room doing paperwork for work he heard Veronica start crying. He immediately started panicking, but when he got over to her he saw his daughter walking over to her mom. Archie then could feel tears well up in his eyes. He then walked over to them and smiled.
Defensive of their kid (getting hurt):
Archie was at work when he got a call from the school his daughter was at right now. When he answered they said Y/n was in the office waiting to be picked up due to something happening to her. Archie started to grow worried so he booked it out of work and called V to let her know about Y/n.
They both met at the school and hurried inside the building to find their daughter sitting in the office’s chair in tears. Veronica immediately went to her side to try and comfort her the best she could. Archie then walked over to the front desk to signed her out of school.
“ Mr. Andrews, I advise you to get her home and make sure she’s ok because she would not let anyone talk to her.”
Archie sighed and nodded and hurried over to gather his daughter into his arms to walk out of the building.
When they got home Archie went over to the couch and sat down with Y/n on his lap. He still had his arms wrapped around her when he asked her...
“ What’s wrong munchkin?”
Y/n looked up at her dad and whispered “ People were being mean.”
Archie nodded and then asked.. “ What did they do that was so mean?”
Veronica was rubbing her back while she said... “ They would call me names and they tried to push me but someone caught them. I then wanted to go home, which is when they called you guys.”
Archie and Veronica both felt bad for their little girl. Veronica smiled and asked...
“ How about we go get a treat to make you feel better. How does that sound?”
Y/n looked over at her mom and then her dad, she then smiled and nodded her head yes. Both of them laughed at their daughter's reaction and got up to head and got some ice cream.

Archie//sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart
Request: Hey agian lol sorry I was also wondering if you could do 2 archie andrew imagines where the reader gets pregnant and tells archie in a cute way, skip to where they find out the gender, then the birth and Archie makes a promise to reader and their baby and proposes to the reader also archie does skin to skin contact
hey! so, this was fun to write! i hope you like! there’s a lot of baby themed things being posted right now, i must have had an influx of baby requests. also, title is a winnie the pooh quote, so credit to that adorable yellow bear i guess. he really has way with words doesn’t he?
Andrew’s construction is in popular demand these days, the legacy of Fred Andrews has travelled far and wide through the surrounding towns of Riverdale, and Archie feels like he hasn’t stopped in the last month. He goes to work before you wake up, comes home when it’s dark, eats, showers and sleeps.
Today is no different, and as he drags his feet up the steps to your apartment, keys jingling in his hands as he goes over what he has left to do on the build he’s currently doing, his eyes get heavier with each step.
He expects you to be waiting by the door, or pottering about in the kitchen when he walks through the front door, but there’s no one there. The lights are switched off, causing a frown to form on his face.
The first thing he feels is panic, but then he hears you coming out of the bathroom, a bright smile on your face as you near him and he feels himself relax.
“Hey babe.” You greet and wrap your arms around his neck. He kisses you slowly and you feel a blush creep up your cheeks. “How has your day been?” You ask and grab his coat from him.
“It was alright. We’re almost finished the house, hopefully it’ll be done in the next few days, so maybe next weekend we can get away somewhere.” He replies making you grin. “Right now though, I need a shower.” He sighs and untangles himself from you, cringing when he realizes just how bad he needs one.
“Wait!” You grab his hand and he looks at you confused. “I need to give you something first.” You add and pull him into the small dining room. Candles line the room, making him furrow his eyebrows as he looks at you. “Okay, close your eyes.” You tell him and he sends you a look before reluctantly closing his eyes.
You take a deep breath, feeling your heartbeat in your throat as you pick up the small box hidden on one of the chairs.
“Hold your hands out.” You instruct and he does, slightly apprehensive of what you’re going to do.
“If this is a spider I swear to God, Y/n.” He teases making you giggle.
“It’s not I promise. Just give me your hands.” You say and he shifts uncomfortably, but holds his hands out anyway. “Okay.” You place the box in his hands and he squeezes it. “Open them!”
His eyes snap open and he looks down at the small white box. He looks between it and you before pulling the lid off. A small bear stares back at him and for a moment he’s confused as to why you’ve given him his childhood Winnie the Pooh bear to him as a present. But then he notices what he’s holding and his eyes widen.
“Holy shit.” He whispers and picks the white stick up. “Are you?” He squints while reading the small screen. “positive...are you pregnant?” Tears blur his vision but he can just make out you nodding and he grins at you.
“Don’t worry, I cleaned the test before I put it in the bo-” A squeal leaves your lips as he picks you up and spins you around. Tears roll down his cheeks while he laughs loudly.
“I love you so fucking much.” He mumbles against your lips. You run your fingers through his hair, and his eyes flutter closed.
“I love you too.” You reply and pull him in for another kiss.
---
“Go ahead.” The bell above the door rings, alerting the few people sitting in Pop’s of your arrival. Archie presses a kiss to your head and squeezes your hand before ordering.
You take a quick glance around, trying to find an empty booth for the two of you to sit and celebrate in, but when your eyes land on a certain blonde and beanie clad couple, your eyes light up and all thoughts of private moment are gone.
“What are you guys doing back?” You ask, pleasantly surprised and Betty and Jughead stop their conversation. Your smiles mirror each other as they stand up to hug you, and you feel tears spring to your eyes. “Sorry guys.” You wipe at them and Betty looks at you concerned. “It’s the hormones. Although, I am really happy that you’re back.” You send them a watery smile and they look at you sympathetically.
“Here.” Jughead hands you a napkin and you take it gratefully.
“Thanks.” You slide into the seat opposite them, resting a gentle hand on the top of your bump.
“We’re just visiting our parents.” Betty explains. “My mom’s been on the phone every single day for the past two weeks so I thought I’d come down for the weekend so she’ll leave us alone for a bit.” She explains and you roll your eyes.
“I see she still isn’t quite over the two of you moving.”
“You’re telling me.” She sips her milkshake while huffing.
“It’s not like we moved half way across the country. We’re an hour and a half drive.” Jughead adds through a mouthful of food and you pull a face.
“Jughead, Betty!” Archie grins while placing your drinks down on the table. “What are you doing back.”
“Alice.” The three of you reply and he shakes his head, a small laugh escaping his lips.
“Oh.”
“Yeah.” Betty nods. “Anyway, how are you guys? What have you been up to?” She asks and you and Archie share a look. He places a hand on your bump and you give it a squeeze.
“We went to the doctors today for a scan.” Archie starts and a soft smile twitches at your lips.
“Oh you’re twenty weeks now!” Betty squeals making Jughead jump slightly as she leans forward. “Do you know what you’re having?”
“Nope.” You shake your head and she slumps in her seat. “The doctor wrote it down but we haven’t looked at it yet.” You add and she picks her head up, her eyebrow raises as she glances between you and the bag sat beside you.
“Nope!” Archie picks it up before she has the chance to grab it and she sits back down with a loud huff.
“Meanie. I think as the auntie and uncle of your baby, we have a right to know what it is.” She crosses her arms and you roll your eyes at her.
You may have all grown up, moved away and gotten actual lives. But whenever your back together in Riverdale, you all revert back to teenagers winding each other and everyone else up.
“Hey babe?” Archie interrupts yours and Betty’s small argument and you send her a glare before facing your boyfriend. “Where’s the envelope?”
“What?!” Your eyes widen and you grab the bag from him. Jughead and Betty lean over the table and watch you empty your bag. “No, no, no.” You mumble and shake the worn leather.
“It’s fine.” Archie tries to calm you down. “Isn’t it fine guys.”
“Yes.” Jughead nods.
“Totally fine.” Betty adds and searches through the pile of things on the table. “It’s got to be here somewhere.”
“Hey, do any of you guys know why somebody would just have the world ‘girl’ in an envelope?” Reggie drags a chair up to your table and everyone goes silent. “Because, even I know that’s weird.” He continues and drops the paper on the table.
Black curly writing faces the four of you and you all stare down in shock, it takes a few minutes before Archie breaks the silence. A shocked laugh escapes his lips and he looks at you, tears forming in his eyes.
“We’re having a girl?” He says and you nod.
“Yeah.” You laugh. “I suppose we are.” He cuts you off with a kiss and Betty and Jughead share a look, clinking their glasses together.
---
“Y/n. I have loved you since we were 16. I love how smart you are, and how you’re always the funniest person in the room. Your smile is just my favourite thing to look at, it makes me smile just thinking about it. You’ve made me a better man, and now a father, so I would like to make you my wife. Y/n Y/l/n, will you marry m-OW!”
“Are you seriously asking me to marry you while I’m giving birth?” You seethe and squeeze his hand.
“I thought it was romantic.” He argues and pulls his fingers from your grip. He’s about to continue when you send him a glare that quickly shuts him up, maybe even forever.
“Birth is not romantic. It is the furthest thing from romantic and when I’ve finished this I swear I’m going to tear your head from your shoulders, shove it in the hole and then see how you like pushing something of that size out of you.” His eyes widen at your threat and he gulps a little.
The midwives and doctor surrounding you stifle their laughs at your words, all of them excited to tell their co-workers the newest insult to go on their wall of insults that’s been hurled at partners.
“Sorry.” He mumbles and rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. “You’re doing amazing babe.” He strokes the top of your head and you groan loudly as another contraction hits.
“That’s it Y/n, keep pushing. Well done.” The midwife talks you through it and you grit your teeth as you push again.
“Why do you have your boobs out?” You ask through you’re panting and Archie looks down at his bare chest.
“The midwife said it would help bonding.” He shrugs and you stare at him.
“With who? The midwife?”
“No.” He shakes his head. “The baby.” You’re about to argue when another contraction cuts you off and Archie’s bonding is the least of your problems.
“Fuck!” You curse and Archie grimaces at the noises you’re making. If he could swap places with you, he would in an instant. He hates seeing you in pain, even if you just get a paper cut, so this is killing him, even if he does know after it’ll be worth it.
With a few more pushes and lot more curses, you finally give birth to a 7lb baby, born at 8:17am with bright brown eyes and head full of blonde hair.
“Do you think she’ll turn ginger?” You ask through sobs as she’s carefully handed to you.
“I hope so.” Archie cries. “Although, I don’t really care. I’ll love her no matter what.” He adds and wipes the tears from his eyes.
“Archie?” You ask and he looks at you, both of your eyes full of love and awe. “I will marry you.” You say, a tired smile twitching at your lips while your head falls onto his shoulder, pressing a soft kiss to it. “Would you like to hold her?” You ask and he nods eagerly.
“I’m always going to be here for you and you’re mom...I promise.” He starts, and walks over to the window looking over the car park and the rest of Riverdale. “You are the most loved thing in this world and I am already so proud of you. I love you.” Archie whispers, the chatter from the nursers and the curses from you all fade away as he stares down at her. Her wide eyes look back at him, they pierce through him and stare straight at his soul. “Hi, Winifred, welcome to the world.”

Riverdale S1 E.10
Every kind of spoiler warning!
- Weird Weirdo Jughead is the secular patron saint of introverts. Betty and Archie act crazy and stupid, respectively, and yet Jughead pays the price. His outburst at the party was the cri de coeur of all of us and he was crucified for it. Jughead's speech was great TV writing, delivered well, and I'm all for Jughead here.
- This is a TERRIFIC episode of television. I'm rewatching this and after years of gifs and memes and other cultural biproducts of this show, I completely got sucked in again and I am SO involved. I liked how all these kids scalp each other. Such DRAMA.
-This whole party debacle was Betty maniacally avoiding her guilt and fear over assaulting Clayton while in Dark Betty mode. So actually Jughead is a bit wrong - this wasn't Betty making him a project. She's not thinking of him at all. It's Betty not giving a shit what he wants and using him to cosplay sanity.
- FP telling Jughead that what he has with Betty is Good is also actually wrong. He does NOT have something good here! I think FP pushes Jughead at Betty because he is relieved Jughead is straight and because the relationship gives Jughead an extra place to eat and sleep.
- Knowing what happened to the I'm A Weirdo speech as a cultural product made all the structural work the writers did to set up for that moment really stand out.
- Betty is given every warning. Archie tells Betty it's Jughead's birthday tomorrow, he doesn't like to make a big deal, and does a particular specific thing every. single. year. on that day. (Also these two have a super confusing exchange about Old Times and 3 or 4 Musketeers which makes no sense.) Betty calls FP and invites him to birthday outing and is clearly told this is a bad idea and then he abruptly hangs up.
- I feel so bad for Jughead that his only friend and advocate is so stupid and obtuse. Archie asks Jughead for the first time why he hates his birthday which means he had thought all this time it was bc Jughead didn't have a girlfriend. And after he hears the heartrending reason does not tell Betty. Jughead is Archie's brother but Archie's not Jughead's.
In sum, on behalf of Jughead, I hate everyone.
- Jughead intuition is tiptop. He asks Betty about what happened with Chuck and Betty straight up lies on several levels. He knows that Betty singing the birthday song is very very off.
- YOU DID THIS FOR YOU! is 100 percent correct.
- On first viewing I liked the Bughead reconciliation, but this time, watching Jughead apologize first and say what Betty did was nice??? NOPE. No. Betty isn't good enough for Jughead (Wow I just said that)
- Jughead seeing Veronica leave the Andrews residence after spending the night. Jughead is such a gentleman and a good kid and too good for Betty (Doubling Down). Also why is he up? Is he a morning person?? Did he never go to sleep??
- I very much enjoyed Jughead not helping Archie clean up.
- Cheryl v Veronica dance off. Cheryl won that! She should've had the hair sound effect though. The Veronica victory was just a vote against the abusive leadership Cheryl has been inflicting.
- Val breaks up with Archie for good here.
- Why is this show so anti divorce? Sometimes divorce is the right answer. But every child on this show, despite otherwise being abnormally mature, hates the idea of unhappily married parents separating.

six sexy words | reggie mantle; let me take care of you.
Tumblr media
Notes:
Oh hello, hi. Guess whose inspiration has finally come back from the war? A while back, I was linked this really neat prompt list by a dear friend of mine and it.. Sparked a few things. So… I guess this is me, starting a new one shots collection?
All of these come from my own mind and I don’t take requests for one shots / prompts, btw.
This is the prelude to my Riverdale fic Gangsta. It kind of... explains how Alyssa wound up getting with Reggie in the first place. Events have been moved around / misplaced, etc.. Anyway.. yeah. I know nobody asked for this but here ya go.
Prompts:
taken from either [ HERE ] or [ HERE ] give or take. It could be one or the other or a mix of both at my own choosing.
catching his gaze lingering on you, i still remember everything about you, let me take care of you were the prompts used here.
Fandom / Character:
Riverdale | Reggie Mantle x Andrews!Sibling OFC, Alyssa
Fic Alyssa Appears In:
[ here ] - read at your own risk. looose af canon compliance and some kind of dark themes are present (kind of an older guy manipulating a younger girl then stalking her sitch so be warned) and are hinted at here.
Warnings:
This one is kind of.. angsty. And there are some dark hints that people reading the fic linked above will pick up on. They're only vaguely hinted at here, btw, so... yeah.
A backstory literally no one asked for, lmaoooo.
Tagging:
@BRITHEDEMONSPAWN is the only one currently on my Riverdale tag list, so…
** if you want to be tagged in my Riverdale stuff, lmk!!**
Other Stuff:
[ ABOUT MY WRITING | TAG LIST DOC - IF YOU WANT TO BE TAGGED, THAT IS. | FANDOMS I WRITE FOR]
I looked up just as Reggie looked down. I could feel the weight of his stare every single time he shifted his gaze towards where I sat in the back booth of the diner.
A strawberry milkshake sat in front of me, untouched. I wasn’t even sure why I was at Pop’s. It’s pretty much the only place for all the lovey-dovey couples of Riverdale to come out on a Friday night anymore and I had to be a glutton for punishment because I knew that this meant the odds of me having a Valentine’s solo date in public, where people would look at me and judge or feel sorry for me for whatever reason, were high.
Not that it bothered me, but when you can feel everyone around you watching you like you’re a landmine or something, it gets old real quick.
A chair scraping loudly against the tiled floor of the diner as it was dragged over drew me out of my own thoughts and I braced myself. Preparing myself to look up from my phone and Snapchats that I had open to find Cheryl or Veronica or Betty sitting there, a sympathetic look in their eyes.
Instead, I looked up from a Snap my friend back in Chicago had sent me and my mouth opened in surprise a little because Reggie sat there, the backwards facing chair pressing into his chest.
“Happy Valentine’s Day.”
“It’s just another Friday.” I muttered, shrugging as I took a few noisy slurps of my milkshake and eyed him. “No hot female company tonight?” I gave him a mocked look of shock as I said it, laughing softly when his response was to pout right back at me.
“I mean, if you count the red-head I’m currently lookin at and I’ve been tryin to talk to all night, then yeah.” Reggie answered.
His answer caught me off guard and as a result, some of the strawberry milkshake went down the wrong way and I choked a little. Reggie chuckled, reaching over to lightly pop me between the shoulder a few times as he gazed at me in concern and amusement. “You good, princess?”
“Super. That would’ve been one hell of an obit though. Girl dies on Valentine’s Day while drinking a milkshake alone and nearly choking to death on strawberry bits.” I laughed and Reggie raised a brow.
“Guess dark humor isn’t your forte, huh?” I teased gently and Reggie gave a quiet chuckle.
“So… How are you feeling about being back in Riverdale?”
“It is what it is.” I answered, shrugging as my eyes wandered around the diner, taking in all the happy couples of Riverdale High.
My gaze settled on Reggie again and I struggled to come up with something even halfway passing as a conversation starter. Maybe that wouldn’t have been such a struggle for me if I’d stop getting lost in the depths of dark brown eyes… Or the way his tongue trailed ever so slowly over the outline of his mouth.
I found myself wondering why he was even over here talking to me to begin with. There was a booth full of River Vixens further towards the back, all laughing and whispering, and yes, occasionally calling his name.
I locked eyes with one of them and the sour look she gave me had me rolling my eyes.
“Hey, it’s gettin late. I doubt Andrews would want his sister walkin home alone…” Reggie trailed off under my amused gaze. I gave a soft laugh, finishing the last of my milkshake.
“Are you asking permission to walk me home, Reggie?”
“What if I am, baby girl?”
“First of all, it’s Alyssa…” I reminded him knowing fully well that it’d go in one ear and out the other, because it always has with him. Reggie’s been a nickname kind of guy for as long as I’ve known him and been friends with him. It’s nice to see that some things haven’t changed, even if at times that can be a little bit grating.
Baby girl just… has negative ties to it for me at the moment.
I winced at the thought and Reggie chuckled. “Okay, princess. Gotcha.” he muttered, leaning in a little. Reaching out and swiping his thumb over my bottom lip. I tried so hard not to tense up or flinch and I found myself hoping against hope that the little bit I did tense up went unnoticed.
I didn’t feel like answering questions and I didn’t want Reggie thinking I was weird or he’d offended me or something because honestly, he hadn’t. The whole thing was a me problem and it was one I was trying not to think about because I just wanted it all completely behind me. Forgotten about.
“You okay?” he asked, a brow raised as he eyed me in concern.
Crap. He noticed.
Apparently, the fact that he’s observant as hell hasn’t changed either.
I gave a soft laugh and nodded. “I just wasn’t expecting that. But it’s okay.” I quickly offered.
Deeper down, I have to admit… If so much hadn’t happened to me in Chicago, I’d definitely be falling hard and fast for Reggie Mantle all over again right now.
I did feel something. A sliver of a spark.
,, Don’t even think about it. The last time you felt sparks, you wound up getting in way over your head. Look where that got you, Alyssa…” that nagging little voice in the back of my mind spoke up, drowning out any and all other thoughts.
He’s my friend. Walking home with a friend isn’t a bad thing.
,, as long as it stops at friendship. Do you really think he’s just going to settle for you? He’s one of the big men on campus. Every girl wants him. Why would he choose you with all your current issues and that big nasty past of yours hanging over your head, threatening to ruin everything?” - and with that thought acknowledged, I smiled and cleared my throat. Breaking through his thoughtful daze with a soft laugh. “Earth to Mantle… You in there?”
“Yeah, yeah. I was just thinkin.”
“About?” I asked the question before I could stop myself.
“About how nice it is havin you back in Riverdale, Alyssa. You were always one of my favorite people.”
I smiled fondly.
Sitting down the styrofoam cup I’d drained of it’s contents, I rose up from my spot on the booth and held out my hand. “C’mon, lug.. If you insist on walking me home, we should probably get going… Stupid town curfew.”
“It is kind of dumb, huh? I mean, it’s not like we actually have a serial killer here.”
“It’s not like we don’t either. Sorry. I watch too many true crime documentaries.”
“No, you just lived in that big city too long. You forgot how safe and isolated it really is here.” Reggie chuckled. He slipped an arm around me and I tensed a little before I could stop myself.
I know he noticed it again, but he lowered his arm. Gave me an apologetic smile.
“Hey… do they still have those swings out behind the elementary?” I asked as we stepped out of the diner. He eyed me and smiled. “Yeah, why?”
“Well, since we do have a little bit of time left before I absolutely must be walking in my father’s door, I thought maybe we could go sit on them and talk? Like we used to? For old times sake?”
Reggie gave a soft grin. “I’d like that.”
“Just don’t try to send me into orbit like the last time I let you push me, okay?”
Reggie chuckled, rubbing his chin thoughtfully as he stared down at me.
I snapped my fingers in his face. “Hey…”
“Yeah, yeah. Look, I make no promises.” Reggie teased. I pouted up at him and we started to walk across the parking lot.
“You’re a lot quieter now, Alyssa. Skittish.. Are you sure you’re okay? I still remember everything about you and you weren’t skittish at all… If you wanna talk about it, you know you can talk to me, right?” Reggie asked as we walked towards the playground down the block. I sighed quietly.
“I’m not!” I spoke up, glancing up at him. Hoping he’d buy it and not keep pushing. Because I’m just not ready to talk about what I managed to get myself caught up in. And you just don’t want to see the disgusted look in his eyes when you do talk about it and he realizes just how stupid and pathetic you really are, the thought came but I shoved it out quickly. For the next minute or two, that heavy silence settled between us. I didn’t address the fact that he said I could talk to him. I know I could but… I just can’t right now. I need time. I need to get my head around everything.
And I don’t want to deal with the disgust I know he’ll probably feel. I know he will because I feel it, every single time I look at myself in the mirror. My parents and Archie keep insisting it’s not my fault, but all I can see is that I was the one who willingly got involved with the people I got involved with in the first place. I’m not stupid. I had to know that Dave didn’t really give a shit. That he was probably using me to stroke his own massive ego. That he purposely picked me when he sensed some deep hidden vulnerability. But I’m the one who let it happen. And I’m the one who let it go on for as long as it did and I allowed it to get to the scary point that it got to…
So yeah.. Pretty sure I don’t want to dump all this on Reggie Mantle and then see him look at me differently. I just… can’t.
I want to, but I can’t.
I hugged myself when the wind picked up, wishing I’d had the common sense to grab a thicker jacket before I left my dad’s house earlier. Reggie stopped our walk and slipped off his letterman’s jacket, holding it out. I eyed it and then him.
“Oh no. No. I’m not about to get my ass kicked by your fanclub.” I teased gently.
In reality, I knew that having the scent of his cologne so close to me would probably stick with me. It’d be too much temptation. Taking his jacket was a slippery slope.
“C’mon. Stop being so stubborn, woman. Look at you, shivering right now… You always took care of me back then. Let me take care of you, okay?”
He stepped closer. Not too close. Close enough that I knew if things were different, I’d totally be pouting right now because I’d want him closer. Before I could answer him, he slipped the jacket around my shoulders and I gave a soft and amused laugh. “Better, Reggie?”
“Yeah.” he answered. I tried not to notice it, but I couldn’t help myself. His eyes darted down and settled on my lips. His gaze lingered.
My heart hammered just a little harder against my chest.
I swallowed hard and cleared my throat, trying not to think about the way he was looking at me currently and the way it made me feel. Because someone’s made me feel that way before but they turned out to be the most toxic person I’ve ever known.
I just.. I don’t know if I can trust myself or anyone else right now.
But I want to. God, I want to.

Can you give us some family trees I don't know who's realated to who
everyone still has the same biological parents, it’s just he marriages and divorces and adoptions and kidnappings that complicate things:
charles ran away from the brothers of quiet mercy when he was ten to find his birth parents. when he showed up at the cooper house and it was clear that he was fp’s son, hal gave alice a choice: charles, or him. alice chose charles and hal kicked her out and basically banned her from seeing baby polly. alice attempted to fix things upon finding out she was pregnant with betty, but hal filed for divorce and decided he wanted no place in betty’s life.
with nowhere else to go, alice returned to the southside with charles and started to rebuild her life there. fp was there for charles, but alice didn’t want to disturb his marriage to gladys (currently pregnant with jughead), and also had reservations given fp’s general instability.
shortly after the births of betty and jughead, gladys finds out that fp has been having an emotional affair, and leaves him, taking jughead to toledo. fp and alice officially get together although their relationship is pretty rocky, and raise charles and betty.
gladys returns to riverdale several years later with a young jughead, and runs into fp at the whyte wyrm. fp and alice are currently broken up (their relationship is very on/off for the first few years), and so gladys and fp hook up for old times sake. gladys becomes pregnant with jellybean, but is ambivalent about fp being in her or jughead’s life (especially as he’s gone back to alice.)
annoyed that alice isn’t suffering as much as he hoped, hal tracks down gladys and is like, “hey, wanna get married just to piss off our exes?” gladys agrees, because she figures it’s the best way to build a better life for her kids. they’re more roommates who occasionally have sex than husband and wife, but together they raise polly, jughead, and jellybean.
upon finding out that hiram cheated on her repeatedly, hermione leaves him and runs away to riverdale, where she stays with mary and fred. she’s just there as a friend at first, but the three of them enter into a poly relationship, and discuss raising both mary and hermione’s unborn babies together. veronica is born.
hiram, blaming fred for his wife leaving him, returns to riverdale with the intent of raising hell. he finds out that mary is days away from giving birth and pays off the hospital staff to steal the baby and claim it was a stillborn. to hiram’s luck (and everyone else’s loss), mary dies in childbirth, making it easy for hiram to run off with baby archie and leave a distraught and heartbroken fred behind. hiram ends up raising archie (who’s trans) and hermosa, and despite the kidnapping and the mob stuff, he’s a weirdly good and supportive dad.
hermione marries fred and veronica is raised as an andrews, believing fred to be her dad.
sierra and myles have josie.
tom keller has a one night stand with veronica sawyer, and she’s kind of just like “whatever” when she finds out that she’s pregnant. she gives birth to kevin.
penelope sues clifford and the blossoms for all that they’re worth because of the whole “child bride” thing, and wins. she finds out she’s pregnant with the twins shortly after.
sierra and myles divorce, and because myles is older and richer, he manages to get primary custody of josie. tom and sierra, both single and missing their kids, get back together.
penelope gives birth to the twins, and, in an attempt to avoid the curse and “help” a couple in need, abandons cheryl on tom and sierra’s doorstep. everyone has an idea about her biological family, but nobody steps forward to claim her, and so tom and sierra raise cheryl as their own.
penelope and sawyer meet and fall in love. they get together and raise jason and kevin.
melinda gives birth to reggie, and marty leaves her soon after. she is happily a single mother.
and that’s what you missed on glee!

WIP Wednesday
It was on Jughead’s 21st birthday (just another Sunday spent studying and writing in his cramped apartment two miles off of Iowa’s campus) that he realized he had never once in his life had actually made a friend.
He wasn’t old enough to sit up on his own, much less introduce himself or choose whether to be friends, the first time FP set him in a crib next to Fred’s redheaded boy. And a few years later, when they were old enough to play in the backyard of the Andrews home on Elm Street, the blonde next door in pigtails had just started joining in one day and he hadn’t had a say in the matter.
But he was certainly glad she had, even if their romantic relationship hadn’t survived the distance created by college and the breakup of their parents... though thankfully they had never had any Archie-related drama he’d feared from the moment he’d first kissed her.
For the next twelve years those two were the only people he called friends, even if he hadn’t really chosen them, as they say with him at lunch and Pop’s and they had all their innocent adventures. Eventually they dragged others in... a boy who liked other boys (but loved drama), a girl with pearls (and even more daddy issues than Jughead), and so on over the years... but again the boy in a beanie didn’t really have a say in things, it just kept happening around him.
Even when he moved to Southside high briefly it looked like he might have been making friends if you were watching from the outside... but he knew, especially in hindsight, that he was simply being recruited into a gang, not truly allowed to chose his companions but forced to take sides.
And of course his move to Stonewall Prep had altered the course of his life... but certainly not netted him any friends, only an increase in his already significant trust issues, to the point where he simply couldn’t stay in a dorm on campus after what his last roommate had done. To even consider attending a party after the last one he attended (prom, which had been wonderful, did not count) was somewhere between laughably absurd and a trigger for a panic attack.
But now, as texts came in from family and RHS Class of 2020 alums (even the blonde who only messaged him two or three times a year now, both agreeing that ‘just friends’ wasn’t an option anymore), Jughead was acutely aware that not a single message was from someone he’d met at college.
Not that he minded... it honestly was socializing that made him miserable, not spending his nights alone watching classic movies and writing. It was only on the nights he simply couldn’t sleep at all that he wished there was someone there to hold and comfort him and talk it out. Someone specific, with soft blonde hair and big green eyes.

(and by surprise) you take me as I am
Tumblr media
I have so many Barchie WIP but this one came out of nowhere. It’s complete AU. not even in the realm of Riverdale or the comics, I am just borrowing the characters because I love them.
Summary: Archie is a douchebag jock and makes a stupid bet at a house party involving little miss perfect girl next door.
The night starts out as most of their house parties do. It’s a Thursday. They are sitting in a circle, sipping lukewarm beer from red plastic cups that Fangs scored from his dad’s garage, and the rest of the alcohol is from Cheryl’s parents basement. Reggie and Moose are playing a dumb card game and Cheryl is texting Toni nonstop. Veronica is draped over his legs, and he doesn’t have the heart to shove her off, partly because she’s tracing her nails along the back of his neck and he really fucking loves that. Truth be told, he’s a little bored of her. She’s a good fuck, but she’s a little needy. Lately, there’s been something off about him as well and he can’t quite put his finger on it.
It started a few weeks ago. He’d been doing a few reps in his bedroom and when he stood up, his gaze drifted to the house next door as it often did, and like usual, they found Betty Cooper. She was sitting in the bay window, adjacent to his own. Her lips puckered and a confused frown etched into her brow. She looked pretty damn dorky but Archie couldn’t help but grin. She looked up and caught his eye and Archie like a dumbass just continued to stare at her. She fluttered her eyes at him and looked even more confused.
She gave him a tentative wave and Archie surprised himself, by waving back.
See him and Betty didn’t talk much anymore. They hadn’t since like 8th grade. He fell into the ‘cool’ crowd, with the people he now deemed his friends, the monkeys spread out around him laughing and joking at band geeks, nerds like Betty and weirdos like Jughead
It seemed so long ago that he, Betty and Jug would be climbing the treehouse in his backyard, playing stupid games with conkers and having sleepovers in his basement. It had only been four years, but it seemed like an eternity.
He missed those days and more so lately, he actually missed spending time with Betty. There was no judgement with her, no need to prove himself. He could simply just be Archie.
“Holy Fuck.” Reggie hollars which breaks Archie from his thoughts and catches his attention. He pushes Veronica’s legs aside and rolls his eyes as she huffs in disappointment.
He smacks Reggie. “What up Dawg?” He asks, eyes wandering the crowded scene in the direction Reggie is looking. There is a haze of smoke, roars of laughter but then his eyes settle on her. Blonde hair, ocean green eyes. If he had taken a sip of his beer, he’d definitely have choked on it. Standing metres away was none other than the perfect girl next door.
A slow lazy smirk grows on his face. “Oh hello.” Archie whispers, Reggie catches his eye.
“Nah man, I saw her first, dibs.”
Veronica scoffs. “You’re disgusting Reg. She's a class A nerd. No way would you even have a chance.” She pulls Archie to face her. “I’m going to get a refill, do you want anything Archiekins?” Her hand travels up his sleeve, clearly annoyed with the fact his focus is no longer on her. To be honest, it hadn’t been on her for awhile. He brushes her hand away, shaking his head and turning back to Reggie.
“You cannot call dibs. I wonder what the fuck she’s even doing here.” He muses to himself more than the group.
“I don’t care, I’m going to find out. I’d love to add Polly’s lil sister to my bed count.” Reggie smirks, downing his drink and attempting to stand. Archie grabs the back of his t-shirt, pulling him backwards a little more forcefully than intended. Something didn’t sit right with him at the way Reggie had said that.
The amount of alcohol Reggie had consumed, as well as the force of the pull caused him to stumble and topple over, the rest of the group roar with laughter as he seesaws backward. Archie’s eyes drift back over to the blonde who is now wide eyed and looking over at them. She’s still alone, but is now nursing one of Reggie’s cocktail punches. He wonders who she’s with.
He looks down to Reggie, and musters a fake enthused smile. “No you don’t mate. I got this one.”
Reggie groans, lying flat on his back. He blinks up at Archie. “Alright Andrews, but I wanna wager a bet here pal.”
Archie arches his brow. “A bet?”
Veronica hasn’t left her perch on the sofa yet, and Cheryl, Fangs and Moose are more involved in the conversation now. Moose oooh’s and Cheryl rubs her hands together.
“This sounds juicy.” She licks her ruby red lips.
“Yeah, I bet you $150 that you cannot get that square to kiss you tonight.” Reggie nods toward Betty, sitting up.
Archie lets out a laugh “Please. I bet you $250 I can get that girl to sleep with me.”
The minute the words are out of his mouth, Archie wants to take them back. He’s not this fucking guy. He doesn’t do this shit. So why on Earth had he said that?
Reggie wolf whistles. “Oh go on then, mate. You’ve got yourself a deal.” He holds his hand out, waiting for Archie to pull him up and shake on it.
Grabbing him, Archie hauls Reggie up and pats him on the back. A voice in the back of his mind screams at him to stop.
“Deal.”
When Archie turns back around, Betty is no longer standing by the table at the back of the room. His first challenge of the evening is to find her.
He makes his way to the punch table, scanning the crowd. He shoves a few chips into his mouth, still focused on finding where Betty would have scurried off to. He can just talk to her tonight. That’ll be enough to entertain the crowd. He ladles some of the fruit punch mixture into an empty red cup, and grabs an open bottle of vodka to top it up. Taking a sip, he lets his eyes roam around the room. He’s not entirely sure what the perfect girl next door is doing here, but he’s intrigued to find out.
“Where would you be, Little Miss Cooper?” Archie whispers, tapping his cup against his chin.
A light laugh catches his attention, and his eyes draw behind him. She’s sitting with her knees tightly pressed together, a black and white checkered skirt riding up her thighs. Archie’s eyes travel up her, and he wonders when her legs got so long. His eyes settle on her face; her eyes bright and a real smile is pulling against her cheeks. He brushes the warmth spreading through him off, and tugs at his shirt before his gaze shifts to her company, who is none other than Kevin Keller.
Archie low key rolls his eyes. Kevin is obviously here for Fangs. It’s clear those two are shagging. Archie wishes Fangs would just come out and admit it, rather than dragging this poor kid to these parties and having to pretend they’re not hooking up in the closet every 20 minutes. But tonight, Archie is grateful because Kevin has bought the most unlikely company.
Betty laughs again and the sound causes Archie’s stomach to knot. It’s a delicate sound and something Archie wouldn’t mind hearing again and again. He straightens up, pouring more vodka into his red cup before pushing himself through a few bodies. He flops down onto the couch, on the right side of Betty. She looks surprised and her face pales slightly as she shifts closer to Kevin.
“Sup?” He nods at Kevin before his eyes trail over Betty. He swears she flushes, and he watches her swallow nervously before looking wildly to Kevin who just smiles dumbly.
‘Oh fucking perfect.’ Archie thinks to himself as he spreads his legs a little and reaches his arm behind Betty on the back of the couch.
“Don’t think I’ve ever seen you at one of these parties before, aye neighbour?” Archie smiles warmly, his eyes boring into her ocean green. She is absolutely not interested. “Hey Keller, Fangs was looking for you earlier.” Archie says, taking a quick glance towards Kev whose entire face lights up. Betty’s eyes widen and she shakes her head a bit at Kevin, silently warning him not to leave her.
“I’ll be right back Betty, Promise.” He gets up and leaves. Archie almost laughs as Betty shifts more to the left, her hands neatly folded in her lap.
“You know he’s shagging Fangs right?” Archie says, raising his plastic cup to his lips. He watches as her gaze traces the path of the drink to his lips. “You want some?”
Betty shakes her head. “No thanks.”
Archie nods. “What are you doing here anyway?”
Betty shrugs. Her hair is down for once, and it looks nice, she brushes it over one shoulder. “Kevin said it would be fun to mingle. I asked him to define the word fun, because this to me looks like a hoe fest.”
Archie laughs. “Ain’t that the truth.” He watches as a small smile tugs at her lips and a light pink flushes her cheeks. He shifts closer. “You look really pretty with your hair down, Betts.” He says slowly, his finger picking up one of the soft curls. The Betts slips out and he can’t help but smile as she swallows
“Um, thanks?” She whispers meekly. Archie drops the curl from his fingers and smiles again.
“Come on, let me get you a drink. These parties aren’t fun until you’ve had at least a few punches.”
He watches as her brow furrows, he can see her weighing up the pros and cons, and he’s just about ready to try his next tactic but she surprises him.
“Okay, just one.”
Of course, the one turns into a few, and Archie decides he likes Betty Cooper more with her guard down. She is no longer uptight, and is babbling a mile a minute, laughing at every single joke he tells her, and to make it better, she’s pretty fucking handsy. Not in the way that Veronica is, but she keeps touching his arm when she laughs, and nudging his shoulder, or playfully kicking him. It’s cute. Almost as cute as the way her eyes darken and her cheeks flush as his hand lingers on the top of her thigh as he whispers something in her ear.
She hiccups a giggle, and Archie finally catches up with the voice that has been screaming at him all evening. This is not a good idea. That stupid bet weighs heavy on his mind. Betty is so close to him, and he can smell her floral shampoo and the sweet perfume she’s wearing. If she twisted her face, it would be so easy for him to kiss her, but he can’t. He’s not one to take advantage of a girl who has had at least 3 cocktail punches.
Betty isn’t trashed by any means, he knows that, she’s just loosened up a bit, so he wouldn’t exactly feel bad about kissing her because she knows exactly what she’s doing and the chances are, she would probably push him away and storm out. But being this close to her, something inside him snaps. He’s not going to do this tonight. He’ll lose the $250. He isn’t the type of guy to make bets on who he can get to sleep with him. Betty would actually flip her lid if she knew.
He actually likes Betty, so much so that he doesn’t wanna drag her into this game with the boys.
With that, Archie pulls back, and watches as she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.
“You want me to walk you home?” Archie whispers, his hand still on her thigh.
She looks up at him with big saucer eyes, before she licks her lips, her eyes darkening again.
Fuck. She’s actually really hot. Archie’s mind engages and he pulls his hand away from her.
“Sure.” She nods, staring at him with a curious look on her face. She seems a little disappointed after he removed his hand from her.
She’s probably never been touched before. Archie’s mind wanders, as he stands up and holds out his hands to help her up. She grins, slapping her palms in his as he hauls her upward, but she slips and falls backwards and grabs onto his hands for support, and she ends up pulling him down too. She’s laughing and his head is buried in the crook of her neck so her breath is hot in his ear and good god this is what dreams are made of.
He pulls back, eyes wide as he stares at her. The laughter dies in her throat, and he just knows she is waiting for him to kiss her, but he can’t. He’s not doing that here, not now. Not like this.
But for the second time this evening, she surprises him because before he can pull himself upright, her hands are on either side of his face and she’s pulling him towards her. Her lips smack his in a bruising kiss.
Her lips are full and soft and warm and oh yeah she’s thrusting her tongue into his mouth and that’s all Archie can think about. Her hands are hot on his face, and she moves quickly, snaking her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. It takes him a good few seconds to realise that he’s kissing Betty Cooper, good, clean, perfect girl next door, on a grubby coach in Fangs living room, in a room full of people.
He pulls back slightly, dazed and a little confused. The rush of blood pulsing in his ears is drowning out the music and the people around him.
“Erm.” He tries to speak, but no words come out.
She looks at him with a bright smile, her eyes shining. “Walk me home?” She takes her bottom lip between her teeth again and she looks nervous underneath him. He steadies himself, putting both hands beside her, staring at her intensely.
“Yeah.” He speaks, but it sounds hoarse. He clears his throat, standing upright as she leans forward, pulling her skirt down a little, she stands. She picks up her clutch from  beside her.
He’s blaming it on that fruity punch, because as she starts to move forward, he finds himself reaching for her hand. She interlocks her fingers with his, and he lets her drag him through the crowd of people.
As she’s grabbing her coat from the front door, Archie stands idly, wondering what the fuck is going on. He spots Reggie whose hands are on Veronica’s hips, Veronica’s lips against his neck. Archie laughs.
“Are you sure you don’t mind walking me?” Betty’s voice floats around him, and Archie snaps back and focuses on her.
“Of course not. I’m over this party anyway.” He smiles as her eyelashes flutter. He opens the door for her, and the chill air of November hits them.
She takes a hesitant step out the door, and Archie’s hand slips into hers again. It’s so easy, so natural.
The walk home takes him back to when he and Betty used to home from school together, she’s talking as if no time has passed between them, as if they’ve always been friends. They haven’t spoken about the kiss, and something inside him turns sour, and he stops abruptly as they reach her door. She turns to him.
“Arch?” She breathes, and the nickname causes his heart to break.
He pulls her into him. “Betty, I’m such an asshole. I’m so sorry we stopped talking.”
She reaches out tentatively and brushes her fingers against his skin. “Oh Archie, it’s okay. We grew up, went in different directions.”
“That’s no excuse. Just because we’ve got different friends doesn’t mean WE can’t be friends.”
She laughs. “That is true.”
“About tonight…”
She shakes her head. “It’s okay Arch. I know what happened. I knew you wouldn’t do that bet.”
He looks taken aback. “Wait, you knew?”
She nods. “Yeah, Fangs warned Kevin. Kevin told me about it before you came over. But even though we’re not as close anymore Arch, I still trust you.”
Archie feels like he’s been punched in the stomach. She’s so forgiving, so quick to trust him.
“Okay now I feel like even more of an asshole.”
Betty rolls her eyes. “It’s fine, I kissed you didn’t I? Let’s move on. This doesn’t mean we can’t be friends.”
“You wanna be friends with a dick who makes bets for fun?”
“No, I want to be friends with you, Archie. You’re not like that, I know that.”
He swallows, thinking about what she’s saying. She’s still in his arms and he wants to kiss her so bad but he knows that he’s not good for her. He doesn’t deserve her.
“I don’t think I want to be friends though.” He kicks himself as he watches the hurr flash across her face, it is quickly replaced with an angry stare.
He reels her back in trying to find the words. “No, wait, I mean, you kissed me.”
Her features soften a little and her anger quickly turns to embarrassment. “You kissed me back.” She says with defiance.
He lets out a chuckle. “Well yeah I fucking did. That was a damn good kiss.”
She flushes. “Yeah?”
Archie takes a step. “It caught me off guard though, and of course, I really want to do that again. But this time…” His breath fans against her cheeks and he smells like strawberry vodka. His warm hands cup her face and in slow motion, he dips his head. His lips touch hers, softly. It’s gentle and sweet, and he feels her smile into him. She pulls back, a flush to her cheeks.
“Okay, that was nice.”
“Nice is how a first kiss should be, but you know what Cooper, you can ambush me with kisses like our first one, any time.”
She shakes her head, her hands coming up over her face. She lets out a squeal. “Shut up. It was the fruit punch.”
A light illuminates the path ahead of them, and Betty shifts on her feet as she realises the sensory light on the porch has been set off.
“I should go in before my mom comes out, she’ll have a fit if she knows I’ve been drinking, and I’m pretty sure it’s past my curfew.” She makes a face.
“Okay, but to be continued?” He asks, his fingers lingering against her side.
She nods, touching her lips. “Walk me to school tomorrow?”
“Yeah?”
Betty slips away from him, but presses her lips to his cheek. “Yeah, goodnight Arch.” She breathes, and then she’s inside, the porch light flickering off.
Archie waits on the sidewalk until he sees the light switch on in her bedroom. His lips still tingle, his cheek still warm, and as he turns to walk up to his own steps, it dawns on him that for the first time in a long time, he’s actually really excited for school the next day.

ARCHIE ANDREWS X READER
Big Little Town: Part One
Story synopsis: The once young reader used to be best friends with Archie Andrews before her abrupt move from Riverdale following her father’s unexplained passing. Now, years later, she returns to finish high school, only to discover that the young boy she’d once had a crush on is both her neighbor, and a not-so-young boy anymore. Together they re-kindle their friendship (and something more) and uncover the truth behind her father’s death and the return of his killer to Riverdale.
a/n: I’m so so excited to embark on this probably eight part journey! I really hope you’ll stick around for a fic packed with angst and mystery, haha! Please do tell me in the replies if you’d like to be added to a tag list! I’ll be updating as soon as possible. <3
X
It’d been years since she’d set foot in Riverdale. Despite her departure five years ago, the small town hadn’t changed a bit, and apparently neither had the near constant grey cloud cover. It seemed picturesque how quaint yet familiar everything was. The leafy viridescent trees that lined the streets, the tips of the fresh grass that peered out between the cracks in the sidewalks, and the Columbian style houses with their neat lawns and creaky stairs, one set of which the girl currently lurched across. She held a large brown box in her hands; within it were stuffed photographs, candle holders, and whatever other miscellaneous items her mother could cram inside them. As she made her way through the bright red front door, the smell of old wood and must went shooting through her lungs.
“Gee, who lived here before?” she said aloud as her mother followed close behind, setting a box down and staring into the abandoned space.
“A little family,” her mother shrugged, “the Coopers, I think?”
The girl shrugged and blew a piece of hair from her mouth, her muddy converse bringing tracks with her as she roamed the desolate soon-to-be living room.
“Doesn’t sound familiar,” she voiced loudly, seeing how much echo would feed back to her ears.
“They had a girl your age,” her mother continued, adding, “you’re mudding up my floors, honey.”
The girl stopped in her tracks and stared down at her feet, scraping them awkwardly on the edge of the cobblestone fireplace to rid herself of some dirt.
“Betty,” her mother finished. “Her name was Betty.”
“Knock knock!” an airy voice came instantaneously.
The two looked up in surprise, confusion crossing their features as they stared at the girl in the doorway. She had smooth blonde hair that was slicked into a neat ponytail, and her blue eyes were like giant ocean orbs against her pale skin. She wore a pink knit sweater against a white collared shirt, like something out of some horse girl catalogue.
“I’m Betty, actually,” the girl laughed shyly, procuring a bag with the familiar Pop’s Diner logo on it.
The girl raised her brows with surprise, “hi Betty.”
“I heard you guys were moving in today so I thought I’d bring some ‘welcome to Riverdale’ donuts to, you know, say hello,” she continued with a bubbly tone.
The girl, feeling awkward, hung her mouth open, able to only respond again, “hi.”
Her mother hit the girl lightly against the chest with a scoff of embarrassment. She stepped forward and extended a hand to Betty, exchanging the sweet treats for a polite handshake.
“This is my daughter, (Y/N),” she said, “she’ll be starting at Riverdale High soon!”
(Y/N) grumbled quietly to herself, clearly not thrilled at the idea.
“That’s great,” Betty beamed, “I can’t wait to see a new face around!”
“Oh, we actually lived here a few years ago,” the girl’s mother explained. “But we moved away when-”
The words seemed to stop there, getting stuck to her throat like glue. Betty’s blue eyes widened with confusion, so the girl took a nervous step forward and quickly swooped in for her mother.
“We moved away a few towns over, but Riverdale never stopped being home, so we came back in time for my senior year and my mom’s new job.”
“Oh,” Betty’s shoulders relaxed, her ponytail swinging to the side, “that’s great.”
“Yeah,” the girl forced a smile back at her new acquaintance.
“So, is it just you two then, if you don’t mind me asking?” Betty asked.
“Yeah,” the girl took another step, holding her mother’s arm and giving it a light squeeze, “my dad passed away a few years ago.”
Betty seemed weirdly unphased, saying, “mine too.”
“Oh?” she perked up.
“Yeah,” Betty said, more flat now, her blonde brows knitting at the thought of something that troubled her. Then, realizing she’d fallen silent, she beamed again, her glossy pink lips splitting. “It was really nice meeting you both! And (Y/N), I uh, left my phone number on the bag, if you ever want to talk.”
The gesture warmed the girl’s heart, and she smiled, for real this time, seeing the black ink scribbled on the paper.
“Thank you,” her and her mother voiced in unison.
“Of course,” she giggled, “see you soon, I hope.”
As Betty turned, her cute shoes tapping the old floorboards and her ponytail swinging, she waved at someone who was outside. Her voice drifted along behind her as she greeted the girl’s unknown neighbors with a bounce in her step.
“Hey!” she called.
A muffled male voice called back, but despite its, well, muffled-ness, something in it sounded familiar.
“I’ll see you at Pop’s later?!” Betty said from the top of the moss covered stairs, her head turned towards someone that was out of view.
Again, a male voice chortled back a positive reply. This time it sounded even more familiar, and the girl felt a weird tingle in her stomach, unable to place its speaker. But she didn’t have to think very hard about it, for Betty turned, giving her, and her neighbor, one last wave.
“Bye (Y/N), bye Archie!” she said before turning and skipping down the steps.
“Archie?” the girl repeated cluelessly.
And then, practically as the name rolled off her tongue, her heart lurched from up in her chest to down into the floor. Her mother’s eyes widened as they came to a mutual realization, and before the girl could even process the idea, her mother was wagging a finger at her with this huge knowing grin.
“Archie Andrews, that boy you liked in middle school, Archie Andrews?” she smiled wider, going in for one her annoying tickles and sending the girl stumbling backwards.
“Nuh uh,” the girl retorted, turning her head away to hide the visible red that was flooding through her face, “I know plenty of other Archie’s.”
“Ok, name one,” her mother challenged, hands moving to her hips in a very mom like way.
“Archie-” the girl started confidently, but her brain immediately short circuited, “-Andrews, OH MY GOD!” she covered her mouth with her hands and went running to the staircase, her mother yelling indistinguishable mockeries up at her as the girl went bounding up the carpeted stairs two at a time until she reached her white bedroom door. Her hands grabbed the brass handle, turned, and slammed the door behind her with such force that the empty room rattled around her.
Back before she left Riverdale, the red headed boy from her year had been practically the only friend she’d had. Being the weird introvert with the recently deceased father didn’t exactly help her case, making it all the more strange when the popular soon-to-be-jock decided to start trailing by her between classes and in the courtyard, usually followed closely behind by a highly optimistic blonde in a ponytail.
“Betty,” the girl realized, slamming her hands into her forehead when the pieces came together.
Pre-pubescent Archie Andrews was just about as middle school fantasy as it could get for a girl. He had these skinny arms and flashing white teeth, and oh my god did the fiery hair make a statement, the girl recalled. He used to force her to catch footballs with him at lunch, so, in exchange, she’d make him listen to her guitar playing after school while they waited for their parents to arrive. It was a blossoming but short lived friendship, for the death of (Y/N)’s father was followed shortly by her departure from the small town and its small town redhead. But the thought, the actual thought that he was less than sixty seconds from her at this moment, sent a combined panic and excitement through her, one so strong she felt she could throw up. The last time she’d seen Archie was before the summer of eighth grade, when she’d left without telling him she was actually going. Giving the sudden life altering change she was going through, the last thing she could handle was officially departing from the boy she liked. And so she waved at him from her mother’s car, the poor redhead totally oblivious it’d be goodbye forever as he waved back from the sidewalk, clutching the guitar she’d thrust goodbye into his hands.
And now he was right there, right across her window and through to his, she thought, raising her head in despair and feeling her throat tighten at once. Because, sure enough, he was literally right there. Archie was standing upright in his little room, and he was staring directly at the girl with a look of mingled confusion and shock written over his large brown eyes. Except it wasn’t actually Archie, she thought, unable to think a single coherent thought as her gaze fixated on the absolutely jaw dropping man that stood a few dozen feet from her. No, skinny little Archie was not this tall, muscular, sharp jawed creature who wore tight fitting tees that clung to his bronzed god-like chest. No way that was Archie that stood frozen like a mirror image to her. But that hair. That hair. There was absolutely no denying that those fiery locks could belong to anyone but him. These thoughts all took about three second to travel through the girl’s mind, and by the third, she did the only thing she could think of and dropped to the floor.
“Oh my god!” she squealed into the flowery carpet, her nose squashed against it uncomfortably.
“What the hell am I doing?!” she spoke to the floor like it would reply.
Obviously he’d seen her drop dead to the ground, but now that she was here she couldn’t exactly get back up, so she took the only acceptable alternative and just lay there like an idiot. If she waited long enough he was bound to get sick of waiting, right? Feeling her phone buzz against her thigh, she reached her nimble fingers into the back of her jean pocket and procured her phone.
new instagram notification: @archiebandrews has started following you.
“NO!” she screamed at her phone, so loudly there was no doubt Archie himself could hear it from his room.
Archie Andrews would like to send you a message.
This was it. This is how she was going to die.
[ Archie is typing… ]
(Y/N), I know you’re still there.
[ Archie is typing… ]
That floor hasn’t been washed in months.
The girl practically spat the carpet from her mouth, her hair getting tangled as she rolled up from the ground. Feeling like her body was on fire from the blaze in her cheeks, she dragged herself up, crossing her fingers that the boy couldn’t see her rosy flushed face from where he stood. He was closer to his window now, clearly his intrigue had brought him slowly forward. Seeing her rise from the floor like a pathetic phoenix would from the ashes, his brows lifted with a keen curiosity, and he found himself stepping closer yet, so he could get a better look at her. Feeling as though she might as well do the same, the girl approached the dirty glass frame nervously, stopping when her muddy converse touched the walls. Archie Andrews wore dark blue jeans and a loosely tucked white tee that curved around the unfamiliar ripples of his chest. His auburn hair was parted kind of in the middle and kind of to the side, framing his high cheekbones and square jaw handsomely. Some of his red locks fled from the neat array of others, one in particular falling across his forehead and curling attractively upon his defined brows. Everything about him was so different and just so, endearing; even the curvature of his rounded pink lips into their inquisitive half smile. And just as she studied him, he’d studied back.
The last time he’d seen the girl she’d had braces and choppy hair, the result of her hacking relentlessly away at it following her father’s sudden and mysterious passing. She hadn’t grown much height wise, but certainly everything else had. Her long straightened hair lay flat against the curvatures of her now rounded out chest, her cheekbones rested higher on her face in such a way that she possessed an attractive maturity, and her brows and collarbones had a matching sharpness to them that defined her features well. She wore tight fitting light wash jeans, torn patchily at the knees from her own falls, and a black tank top, matched with a chunky black belt similar to the one Archie himself wore around his sturdy hips.
It was...bizarre. It was like they were just recognizable enough to each other to be unmistakable, but also grown enough that it seemed they were like strangers.
It was Archie who finally, after what felt like years but in reality was a few seconds, withdrew his phone. The red headed boy stared intently at his screen, typing away quickly and sending a buzz into the girl’s palm. Broken from her daze, she lifted her phone, seeing on it his invitation to join him and his friends at Pop’s in the evening. She lifted her gaze to the auburn haired boy next door, letting out a long and heavy sigh. Honestly, she’d just gotten here and she wasn’t too good at the socializing thing, but it was impossible to resist those glittering brown eyes. Seeing the doubt playing through her mind, Archie tucked his phone back into his jeans, fingers lingering in his pockets as he softened his expression further.
The boy tilted his head sweetly, mouthing “please?”
The girl’s heart seemed to pound so hard she could feel it smacking around her own chest, and so she nodded reluctantly, parting her lips to say yes but instead finding them hung partially open. And then he cracked that smile, that disgustingly perfect smile with the sharp canines and massive dimples, and she knew: it really was him.
