Something that I realized with the New Year is that I've officially been free from SH for a full year. This is a huge thing for me personally. Halfway through 2023, I was convinced that I would never make it to 2024. I was at one of my lowest points, and somehow, I pulled through. So today I'm going to celebrate. I made it a whole year despite my brain telling me I didn't deserve it.

This isn't to say that it wasn't hard. It was extremely hard at times. And it still is. But I did it, and that's what I'm celebrating today. I'm still at some very low points in my life, but I'm trying to remember that this won't be this way forever.

In the words of John Green, "The light-soaked days are coming." There will be days that I will remember that life is worth the living and that there are people here who love me because they want to and not because they have too. The days are coming that I will want to live and not want to constantly SH. I believe that. I do. I have to.
