#i love this photo so much it's so cute#anyways i watched trio of deep sin and i have thoughts#first of all i think that rintaro had the best visuals and the most interesting story#it's mostly about him accepting the blood on his hands and reiterating how these are the burdens he must bear as a swordsman#touma had a really nice storyline and i didn't know if i'd like touma as a father but i really do and it suits him well#they gave espada a new form but the visuals were kind of lacking in that section like the effects weren't the best#but the movie is show well for them most part although sometimes the camera zooms in slightly just out of nowhere and idk how i feel about#that decision but oh well#at the end they kinda hint that kento and yuina meet again and they are engaged on the manipulated timeline but let's be real they'd never#last like i feel like yuina did grow to care for kento and she wanted him to live but she still felt so much hate for him and it wouldn't#ever work as a real relationship at least not a romantic one considering her fiance died bc of kento like that's not something you can#really move on from like that#so all in all probably one of my favorite kr movies so far with a lot of great visuals and an interesting story#the most impactful part is when rintaro and kento meet and they've forgotten each other like i actually cried#i do consider kento and rintaro to be family so it broke me to see them speak to each other like strangers#the one fault this has is only kento and rintaro share screentime#we don't see kento and touma interact nor do we see rintaro and touma which feels like a shame considering how close they are in the series#but it does help in highlighting individual burdens though i still would have liked to see them together#kr saber lb#kr lb#umbrella.thoughts#umbrella.posts

Also, I was able to watch some Ultraman X over Crunchyroll, since that was my only legal method of watching a tokusatsu show that wasn't Power Rangers. I liked X well enough, will probably watch again, but maybe you could direct me to a few other seasons.
Oh boy and this is even harder than recommending Kamen Rider seasons. I’ve watched far less Ultraman by comparison (KR I’ve seen… literally everything in the Heisei period and a handful of Showa), but I’ve at least LIKED every single season I’ve watched. The majority of them I’ve LOVED.
That being said, getting into Ultraman is also a little harder, because unlike Kamen Rider’s “one and done (minus cameos)” approach to seasons, Ultraman’s got more of a ‘floating continuity’ thing going on. Is this season canon to that season? The answer is almost always: Yeah, kinda, just ignore anything that doesn’t fit because we’re not going to explain it! … Which sounds kind of bad, but honestly, if you’re willing to nod along with any references to things you haven’t seen yet and accept that ‘nothing from previous seasons is relevant here until proven otherwise’, Ultraman’s a show with a hell of a lot of heart and a hell of a lot of fun.
As for seasons I’d recommend, anything that’s post-Ginga S is considered “New Generations” Ultraman, and I can heartily recommend any of that. (That’s X, Orb, Geed, R/B, and Taiga, currently – Orb and Geed are on Crunchyroll too! Orb’s the one I just “liked” more than “loved”, but that says more about the quality of everything ELSE than the quality of Orb.) Ginga and Ginga S are a WILD ride and I don’t not recommend them, but they were made on a budget of about 5 dollars and it shows, haha.
For older seasons I’ve watched, Mebius is good but heavily references older shows (it explains everything well, but if that’s not your jam, maybe watch other stuff first), and Cosmos is possibly my FAVORITE ultraman but he’s rarely relevant to anything else (HE BEFRIENDS THE GIANT MONSTERS. THE KINDEST OF ULTRAMEN). These are both currently available on TOKUHD, which is subscription-based, though Mill Creek Entertainment is working on releasing Ultraman BluRays in the US, so those should be available… eventually. They’re working on it. Sigh.
Oh, and one last honorary mention, only “honorary” because it’s a pain to track him all down: Ultraman Zero. I love Zero dearly. He’s an incredibly overpowered teen, but he’s likeable and has good friends and tends to react to his constant stream of new power-ups with “oh god, stop, I could theoretically kill god now AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THAT. STOP.” … However. His first appearance, and his next few major appearances before Geed, are all movies or DVD specials. If you can track down his string of movies, I recommend about half of them. (Mega Monster Battle Ultra Galaxy Legends is the starting point and just “okay”, Revenge of Belial is next and AMAZING, then Killer the Beatstar has great character development but horrible fight choreography, then Ultraman Saga which is honestly pretty bad but gives Zero *TWO* other Ultramen’s powers, and finally Ultra Fight Zero, which is my second-favorite after Revenge of Belial. Phew!)
SO uh yeah! Good luck, hopefully all of this will become easier to find as Mill Creek puts out those BluRays – I’ve got the Orb, Geed, UltraQ and Ultraseven ones myself, and though I’ve only cracked into the Orb one so far (to share it with some friends), I can say they seem pretty quality, especially for about $25 per set, and it’s lovely to see Ultras in HD. 👍hope this helps!

Thoughts on New World Grease (1/2)
This is the last festival!
Tumblr media
Well, the last V-Cinema is here! And it’s become the top-grossing KR V-Cinema so far, so maybe it’d be a bit of an understatement to say it was well-received in the Japanese fandom.
After Cross-Z got mixed reviews, there were fans concerned about the Grease V-Cinema: would Kazumin get a new love interest? (Keep in mind that Kazumin/Misora as a ship has a bigger following there than in the Western fandom) Would Sento play a very passive part and be depressed at home? Would the crows get the screen time they deserve?? Would Grease Blizzard be back?
Toei seems to have paid attention to what fans wanted, and I think this movie feels much more Build-like to me than Cross-Z or even Be The One ever did. Kazumin/Misora is a thing -more about that in the next post-, Sento is in a good mood, gets to transform and does stuff other than mope around, the Crows are adorable as usual and Grease Blizzard gets to shine.
Anyway, I’ve enjoyed the movie for the most part. The action, the comedy, the characters… everything was very good! It’s definitely one of my favorite KR V-Cinemas so far. Is it perfect? No. While I don’t think it has as many issues as Cross-Z -which was enjoyable nonetheless-, there are a couple of things that have bothered me. And let’s say one of them was especially bad. But still, I had a blast watching this movie, and I think it understood what made Build so special to many of us. I saw someone say that while Cross-Z showed the bad side of Build, Grease showed its good side. While I don’t necessarily agree (I don’t think Cross-Z was garbage, and some things Grease does are questionable at best), I do believe Grease was an honest attempt to please the fanbase. As someone else put it, “it’s a love song for Build and its fans”. That’s more like it, yes.
What I did like:
The characters got to do stuff! I’m especially happy for Sento and Sawa, whose roles in Cross-Z were… disappointing, to say the least. Here we’ve got Sento at his best, living a happy life, transforming and trolling his good ol’ pal Kazumin. Sawa gets to rescue Gentoku, repeat her shady line (“it’s better if you don’t know about it”) and this time around, fortunately, she wasn’t knocked out for any reason.
Shinobu acknowledges Sento as his other son!!! I wish there was at least a lil mention to Mrs. Katsuragi, but I’m happy with what we’ve got. Now I can easily imagine her, Shinobu, Katsuragi and Sento enjoying their sweet eggrolls together.
That conversation between Katsuragi and Banjou! When I read the spoilers in late August, I think this was one of the scenes I wanted the watch the most. “It’s not a weapon if a hero uses it. It’s hope”, says Katsuragi. Banjou and Sawa smile at him, and he smiles back. He finally acknowledges Banjou and everyone else as true heroes who fight for love and peace :’)
Massugu (the kid from the Grease HBV who made a brief cameo in the series) is back! I love how in the show he said something like “we were saved by a purple Kamen R*der!” and now he just says “a green monster has appeared!”.
While I’m sad that Gentoku and Kazumin hardly interacted at all (they were treated as a duo in the show, in Be The One, in Cross-Z and in Heigen Forever), I loved it when Kazumin called him and understood that Gentoku had been kidnapped because he called him “Grease” instead of “potato” lol
THE JOKES. The comedy was great in this movie, but I especially appreciated something that’s extremely mutocore: the jokes that turn out to be plot relevant. In this case, Kazumin is so heartbroken when Misora rejects him that he and his friends go on a trip to a deserted island (their preferred means of transportation: a raft), and they can transform because… they bathed themselves in a very special onsen! It’s so stupid. I love it. Now, that’s the kind of silly stuff I actually like, not Cross-Z’s strange “Banjou’s gonna explode” thing. In a way, Misora saved the world by rejecting Kazumin. A legend.
There were many gags I loved and I can’t choose a single one. I think I’m going to have lots of fun giffing this movie, although some of those scenes aren’t very gif-friendly (like when the crows are cheering on Kazumin, and Aoba goes “YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”). Sento trolling Kazumin (“misoramisoramisoramisoramisora”) was great, or Sento forgetting about Utsumi, who was inside a capsule, or the shabby map Sento drew for Kazumin… God, Sento was the MVP.
Misora calling the crows “the three idiots” ALL THE TIME. I loved her interactions with them. When Aoba is trying to protect her, when she refuses to let go of Akaba’s hand… And I’m glad Isurugi was mentioned (she was buying a present for him), although it makes me sad that we didn’t get to see Misora and her dad in the New World after the finale. I bet Isurugi and the crows would have been a very fun combo.
Also, I’m glad Kiba’s acute sense of smell wasn’t forgotten, or Aoba’s reaction when he saw Metal Build :’) Or Kiba’s and Aoba’s roasting Kazumin, as usual (“he’s so bad at lying!” and “he can’t do anything without us…”). Akaba was a sweetie. I love every single one of them.
Utsumi’s “EVERYTHING FOR NANBA INDUSTR… no… FOR PEOPLE!”. That’s my boy right there!!!!!!!!
THE ACTION SCENES! Now, I’ve always had a soft spot for Grease as a rider because I love his fighting style, and he got to shine as much as he deserved in this movie. Dunno how to feel about the DBZ fight at the end (when he and the Bad Guy were flying around), but his scenes as Grease Blizzard -my true love- were amazing. Perfect Kingdom was cool though, and that scene where all the riders transform together was very sweet.
Kazumin was VERY cool. While I’m :/ about some stuff he did (more about that in the next post), he does know how to deliver cool lines. “You’ve always been alone, haven’t you?” or “I’ve got something I want to protect. You don’t. That’s it”. YOOOOOOOO. Or his speech about what a Kam*n R*der is. He and the crows were very, very fun.
SENTO AND BANJOU WERE SO FUN TOO! Loved the scene where Sento says he’s glad the Katsuragis made up, and Banjou gets all “:’)” while looking at his smile.
I’m surprised (except not really) that in a movie where TWO new het ships become canon, there’s no mention whatsoever of Yui, Banjou’s love interest in Cross-Z. Now, Build has been consistent about bringing up randos now and then (here we’ve got Massugu, for instance, but in the show nearly every rando has been mentioned again at some point), so I think it’s worth pointing out the so-called “Cross-Z erasure”. Especially in this context. Which leads me to…
What’s with the Kazumin+Misora and Sento+Banjou similarities in this movie? lol Maybe I should write a separate post to not make this post even longer.
“You know, he’s a dumb and lame idol otaku, but he’ll fight to create a future for his friends, for everyone. Because he’s a hero”. Awww, Misora (see the point above). Felt bad when she started crying as soon as she spotted Grease Blizzard. She’s precious…
I laughed when the Bad Guy killed The Other Bad Guy. This movie wasn’t very violent compared to other V-Cinemas, let alone ROGUE. And although we see how the Bad Guy gets tortured, it’s much more tame than Yui getting burned alive in Cross-Z. And I’m glad we didn’t get a gratuitously violent scene where the bad guy tortures Misora.
I actually appreciate the Bad Guy, whose name as you can see I don’t even remember. Is he great? Nah. But what I want in these movies is to see the characters I already know doing stuff, not for some rando to steal the spotlight. Bonus points because he wasn’t an alien. He did work with Shinobu, but he doesn’t retcon the plot like the guys from Be the One did, and they don’t bring back Evolt like Cross-Z did. He was just there doing his stuff and I respect him for that.
I’m probably missing some more stuff, but yeah this movie was very, very enjoyable to me. I’ll talk about the stuff I did NOT like in the next post!

Question! So I’ve noticed that you and a lot of others have been saying stuff about the months leading up to TLJ. I wasn’t into Star Wars at that time, so I was just wondering, what was it like? Was there a lot of content being released, was there a lot of crazy speculation and such? Was there a lot of reylo content in promos and pictures and such?
Hey Nonnie,
And for anyone who’s reading who remembers, this is going to be long, and I’m going to miss things (I’m certain I missed some gates) because I’m just going from memory and old posts from when I wasn’t as militant about tagging (hah), so feel free to chime in if you have any other memories. Also, this took forever to compile lol.
Unofficially, we had shots from Ireland (2016) and second-hand gossip from locals about Daisy, Mark, and Adam filming in Ireland (and lots of people screeching about how the only reason KR would be with those two would be so they could team up and murder them).
But then the conversation started to shift, and we got info that wasn’t from the reylo fandom regarding their “interesting relationship,” though we were always there, saying the exact same thing.
This podcast and breakdown in the comments from May 2016 really highlights when things started to shift for our space kids (and confirmed a lot about what people had been theorizing/writing meta about, etc). We weren’t pulling things out of our asses and we were not wrong for seeing what we were seeing. It’s also a really great snapshot of what the discussion on Tumblr was like back then. Lots of great minds and fun times, as far as I am concerned.
“But I mean like, right now, Rey’s story is kinda weird too. It’s like I don’t know where my mum lives, I wish my mum and dad would come get me on Jakku, oh, I’ve got the force? Oh Luke Skywalker, he’s here? Wow. And then, so, at some point, Kylo Ren and Rey gotta have something more going down. I don’t know if it’s romance, if it’s complete hatred, if it’s you know, but, erm…I know, we can’t talk about it, there’s certain things we’ve heard – and it’s not romance, it’s not romance, but there’s certain things that we’ve heard recently about what’s going down and what Rey, how Rey feels –“
“Yeah, let’s just leave it at that.”
And then there was a very long wait for 2017, when things started to shift even more.
It was pretty much radio silence concerning Kylo Ren (officially) right up until the second trailer (the first only showed him for a split second). Boxartgate happened earlier in the year. (February) when the marketing started to come out for TLJ and Kylo wasn’t on any of it (nevermind that only his mask was on the TFA packaging, but when you’re grasping at straws for reasons why the “Skywalker of the trilogy” isn’t important... I guess you’ll take what you can get). The Reylo fandom guessed (correctly) that he was basically a walking spoiler (which other sections of the fandom guessed, incorrectly, that he was irrelevant to the story and that’s why he wasn’t showing up much N O P E).
SW Celebration happened in April 2016, and that trailer, combined with the super, SUPER amazing poster dropped:
Tumblr media
Oh and Eric Maell’s super Reylo-tastic, officially licensed SWC poster that was available for sale at SWC (yeah, we all lost it here too). The whole thread is funny and read through to where Eric’s signature pops up on the poster.
And then we collectively lost our damn minds when the trailer dropped in October. If you’d like a trip, head into my archive and look for like October 2017 and you’ll get a pretty good idea of what that looked like lol.
It’s so damn good, I just watched it again and it STILL brings tears to my eyes. Avoid the comment section LOL.
And then came the: “It’S NOT KYLO’S HAND, IT’S HU//X’S FI//NN’S LU//KE’S ANYONE BUT KYLO REACHING OUT TO HER.” SNOKE ISn’T TALKING ABOUT KYLO. (handgate)
As if we, a collective group of Adam stans, WOULD EVER mistake his hand for another. GET GOOD, Anne.
HE’S NOT LOOKING AT REY. HE’S LOOKING AT.... fill in the blank. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA No. We know what he looks like when he looks at Rey.
Tumblr media
Like, I didn’t spend 2 fucking years staring at screen shots like a maniac to NOT be able to see things for what they really are. I mean, the look he gives her when she pulls that saber from the ground on Starkiller? I WISH I could find a gif because it’s classic, “Holy shit, I think I’m in love, but I’m pretty sure she wants to murder me.” HAH Oh Enemies to Lovers, you’re such a riot.
But up until that point there was NOTHING. I’m pretty sure box gate happened somewhere in there, but then the marketing really started getting going and we got fed so fucking well it was almost too much because we’d had so little to go on up until that point that it was just like, “Is this real life? Am I making too much of this? Or are they really playing up the Kylo Ren/Rey angle in this marketing?”
October 31, 2017, we got this GREAT article from V where Adam interviewed Daisy.
AD Is there an aspect of working on Star Wars—it could be anything from the light saber battles, the travel, the catering, to getting to see me every day and do my hair—that was your favorite part?
DR I don’t know if I’ve ever properly thought about it. I love coming into the makeup trailer—everyone is there, you say good morning, and you get a little cuddle from people...I just really liked being part of something where you’re one of a whole. When filming, you’re always part of a thing. Becoming besties with you was the best thing.
AD That’s a lie, but we will make sure that’s printed.
DR [laughs]
The whole interview is really sweet and a really lovely read. Also, got some really adorable fanart of Rey doing Kylo’s hair around that time, which was super awesome.
There was some drama about Rian saying there’s “no romance in EPIX” which obviously wasn’t the case and he was misquoted anyways. Which is a good reminder not to freak the fuck out over everything, just because it seems like it’s going one way (or someone’s pushing their own thoughts and opinions onto paper in an interview). At any rate, Rian’s a big ole Romantic, so we know how it all goes in TLJ. (Romancegate)
This article talking about “the fallen son” and whether Kylo could be redeemed came out in Nov 2017 (which was LOL considering how much of the general fandom had convinced themselves this movie would be about Rey hunting down and murdering Kylo), which had this super quote from Rian:
“But I don’t think it’s very interesting if the whole story is just ‘Will Kylo get his comeuppance?’ He’s a more complicated character than that and I think he deserves a more complicated story than that. I don’t see the point of trying to get behind his mask and learn more about him if all we’re going to learn is ‘Yeah, he’s just an evil bad guy that needs to be killed.’” -Rian Johnson
This amazing character flowchart that was marketed in Korea to show the relationships in Star Wars (it’s official, and if you’re at all familiar with kdrama’s, you’ll probably understand why half of the fandom lost their shit lol).
This post/podcast from the starwarsconnection also has a pretty great breakdown of what was going on at the time and also shows some of the kid’s toys (specifically, the Reylo dolls that were sold as a set, though there are a FEW sets of Reylo figures, this one was specifically marketed to girls as a part of the Forces of Destiny series, which I really miss).
I’m sure there’s more, but basically the movie came out and the rest is history haha. This article talking about how horny TLJ is still makes me laugh.
1. Kylo Ren takes his shirt offLike I wasn’t going to start with this? Adam Driver as Kylo Ren gamely serves up the most Star Wars beefcake since Luke went sleeveless on Dagobah, and even Rey is rattled. She forgot to force-knock before barging in on the dude, and here’s Kylo Ren alone in his room, stripped to the waist, boasting sweaty pecs that look like he sliced Alderaan in half and glued the remainders to his chest. It’s a lot! Finally, even people who don’t subscribe to HBO can wonder, “Shit, am I attracted to Adam Driver?”
2. Kylo and Rey’s whole thingMany weirdos shipped these two characters after The Force Awakens, and now I kinda get it. Kylo and Rey never make out, but they still share The Last Jedi’s sexiest scenes as well as a telepathic connection fostered by sinister voyeur Snoke, the galaxy’s mightiest cuck. And how about that moment where Kylo kills his mentor — it’s always hot when a space goth murders a lazy magician — and then flips sides with Rey to kill off a straggling crew of ruby-red stormtroopers? If watching seven seasons of Buffy has taught me anything, it’s that there is no sex sign more unequivocal than teaming up with your sworn enemy to throw stage punches.
LOL. So yeah, have fun, don’t stress, and it’ll all be fine. Cheers!

Favourite Character Meme
From @the-lady-razorsharp
Rules: Name your ten favorite characters in any fandom, then tag ten friends to do the same.
Okay...
Jim, John, Jack, John, Michael, John, Tony, and Virgil. Hmm, that’s not ten, but these are the only ones up there on a pretty much equal standing.
Jim Kirk - Star Trek: The Original Series & The Alternate Original Series. This is my original fandom. This is where is all started. The first fandom I encountered way back in 1986 (and yes, I am halfway through my lifespan, told you I never grew up :D ). He was in my first fanfic (which will never see the light of the internet because omigod bad - though you can see my second one - Goodbye, Spock - both of which were physically printed in my local club’s fanzine all those years ago). My history with ST is a little different to some. I entered through the James Blish books as at the time the show was not being shown on TV at all, videos were scarce and expensive and ST was not trendy, not at least until ST:TNG came to play a few years later (well, try four years, it took forever for anything to get onto this side of the planet back then). Fortunately there were books in libraries and I was an avid reader (and as a budding librarian, I had my ways :D ). So due to this, William Shatner wasn’t in the equation when I first met Jim Kirk. In fact, when I first saw ST:TMP I stared at the screen and asked what TJ Hooker was doing in the captain’s chair?!
Jim Kirk is your typical hero. Sacrifices himself to save the day, has great friends who would do the same for him, and a honkin’ great big starship to back him up. What’s not to like? :D
John Crichton - Farscape In the early 2000s before the new Battlestar Galactica changed sci-fi storytelling for good, Farscape was at the forefront. It bent the rules that BG later broke completely and that single astronaut stranded on the other side of galaxy found himself in a world nothing like the safe Star Trek he probably grew up with.
John Crichton is a geek, but a geek with spine and a good set of leather pants, long black jacket and a big gun to match. At heart he was a gentle scientist, but he was forced to adapt and kick ass. But through everything something in him stayed true and the world around him which at first found him simply a weak oddity eventually mapped itself to him. His weaknesses became his strengths, his associates of suspect motivations became his loyal friends and together they took on the universe.
And the leather, c’mon...
Jack O’Neill - Stargate SG-1 Oh, poor Jack. Stargate fandom was where I truly waded into fandom. I started really writing here back in 2003 (yes, I’ve been on FF.net that long). I met some fantastic friends through Stargate that had both me and them travelling thousands of miles to meet each other. It was also where I learnt to whump. As I said, poor Jack :D i wrote my first novel length fic in Stargate all 75,000 words of it. Took three months, most written by hand as I couldn’t type fast enough - by the time I finished it, I could touch type.
Jack is the only character I can claim to still be older than me, just (it was a momentous year when I passed Jim Kirk’s age of 34, our characters are forever young, we are not). He is the goofy colonel, typical tough guy with a soft heart, but will of steel who always did what he thought was right, willing to make the necessary sacrifices just like Jim Kirk, and again with the team who would all do the same for him.
John Sheridan - Babylon 5 Okay, I admit it, I was a Scarecrow and Mrs King fan long before Bab 5 was even dreamt up. but the beard in season 4 that did it :D I’ve never written in this fandom, basically because it is pretty much a closed loop story and the actual show did a pretty good job of  venturing where fandom would have gone anyway :D
John was another military type with a strong moral backbone (would you believe that I’m not a military type, but all these guys seem to be - what that says about me, I don’t know :D ). Again he is soft around the edges hence the whole Delenn storyline. Maybe for me it is a combination of kickass, doing what is right and squishy insides :D
Michael Knight - Knight Rider I loved Knight Rider as a kid and in 2004 when I discovered the tiny little KR writing fandom online, I instantly fell in love. Real Life at the time was a bit of a challenge and KR was a haven for me. I wrote a lot of KR fanfic and it and the people I met in that fandom still hold a special place in my heart. Michael and Kitt saw me through some tough stuff and I returned the tough onto poor Michael. If I was feeling awful, he got it. I used my writing as a vent zone and managed to create something out of it. This was also the fandom that introduced me to RP. And yes, I RP’d Michael Knight, you can find my long abandoned journal here. I also managed a bunch of other characters including a several hundred year old version of KITT.
I really should say Michael and Kitt, because just like Kirk and Spock, one character isn’t much without the other. A hothead ex-cop who, once again, has a moral core to stand up for the small guy and drives a smart car, literally. The both of them together are quite capable of kicking ass. A not so typical buddy cop show with so many writing possibilities. I built up my writing skills in this fandom and eventually started writing original works (which were all brought to a grinding halt by the event of motherhood in 2008, thus followed the lack of writing for the following 10 years...until a month ago).
John Sheppard - Stargate Atlantis I’m mentioning this John because I fell into SGA quite hard about three years ago, but with the exception of one unfinished attempt at fic (which you can find on FF.net), i haven’t really written anything in this fandom. I like a bit of John and Rodney interaction and because I know SG-1 so well, and John is really just a younger version of Jack in many ways, it was inevitable.
John is military (again ::sigh:: ), but not military. He breaks the mold and tends to be just outside what he should be. Again a softy, not as confident or as steely as Jack O’Neill, but with his own code and strengths.
Tony Stark - Marvel Cinematic Universe Well, in all that writing desert, this is where I have been. There is enough fic in that massive fandom to keep an addict fed for years, literally, I’ve tried it. I have never written any Avengers fic. There is no need to, and really with young children, a job and a small business there really wasn’t time.
Tony Stark is a geek with money. He has troubles, he’s socially messed up in places, but under it all he does his best. He cares, sometimes too much, and is willing to step up to do what is necessary. He is far from perfect and he screws up big time, but he continues to try. There is also a load of angst and whump attached to this poor character, even in canon. (I think the last movie sent me into shock, I really shouldn’t have seen it while recovering from appendicitis, it hurt). And he is not a soldier, he has made that perfectly clear.
Virgil Tracy - Thunderbirds Are Go And here we are today. About a month a go this fandom hit me like freight train and in the process revived my writing skills, created this journal and drew me back into fandom. I still don’t have time to write, but somehow I have.
Out of all the characters above, Virgil is the most different. He has an artistic side which I can understand, being an artist myself (no, I don’t play the piano or any other instrument, unfortunately). He’s a softy, he’s kind, a bit of a dork, he’s calm (much unlike all of the above), he has four brothers he would do anything for, is certainly well built for a cgi character...and he drives a big honkin’ aerotank :D Pairing him up with Scott leads to interesting conversations and the whumpfactor...I’m so sorry, Virgil. But I think at the core of it is the hero again. The Tracy boys go out to save people. There are no guns, no animosity, they are just trying to help because they care. And who couldn’t fall in love with that?
I’m not going to tag anyone, but feel free. it is an interesting way to share info about yourself :D

                         2017 Favorite Korean Album Releases
(from left to right)
ADOY  'catnip' a dreamy electropop album which was on heavy rotation for those lazy summer nights. a little leaning towards more mainstream channels for an indie album but it's rather glorious in how comforting and versatile the tracks are for your mundane daily tasks. Grace and Laika are gems.
glen check  'the glen check experience'
this was a surprise comeback due to the fact that i was still listening to Haute Couture and not realizing that the album was released five years ago. this album is downright audacious in the best possible way. industrial powerhouse, dark-trap, and heavily influenced by R&B artists such as A$AP Rocky, this album isn't interested in conforming to generic structures. Long, Strange Days Pt. 1 and Rude and Confused are my fave.
iu  'palette' i think the most delightful thing about this album is that the direction seems to be what she truly envisioned for herself as an artist, no holds barred. at parts jazzy, pop-essential, and surprisingly, even electronic, this album exemplified her caliber as a songstress and producer. it's tremendous how powerful this album is not only in relation to the listener, but the listener's idea of her---reminding us that she is as human and insecure as all of us, shattering the picture perfect image that had chased her since her debut. as you can see, i have a lot of emotions over this album. if i have to pick a favorite, 밤편지 (Through the Night) is her swan song.
peejay  'walkin' vol. 2' this album is soooooo smooth. a spiritual sequel to his previous release ‘walkin’ vol. 1′ in 2015, this album is just one solid bop after another. it’s an essential r&b album of the year (sorry millic).
hyukoh  '23' to anyone who knows me personally, this choice? not a surprise!!! the band's hot streak has not wavered in their third album, topping off their success as an act that is the definition of all the rage. in an album that celebrates coming to terms with both youth and adulthood, the band did not lose its peculiar sound while still experimenting with new styles (i.e. Wanli万里) that appeases older and newer fans alike. nothing short of a masterpiece, the 12 tracks are arranged artfully and are just gorgeous through and through. my fave track is jesus lived in a motel room because we get it boys, ur 3dgy! i could really go on and on about this album and the band's evolution since their 2014 debut but that's another post for another day.
offonoff  'boy.' the duo have released some amazing singles so news of an album after a blessed signing with highgrnd easily made their album one of my most anticipated debut of the year. boasting a few clubeskimo friends, this album is a kr&b fan's wet dream. starting off with fun and lighthearted to slower, more nostalgic tracks, this album flows like silk on river. good2me, photograph (a single before), homeless door are the stand out tracks.
the black skirts  'team baby' this album has the ability to make me nostalgic over a past i don't even live through. it makes me feel like i'm simultaneously a 1970s parade conductor and the boy in the audience watching them. he makes me feel like i'm living in a coming of age movie directed by richard ayoade. i'm gotdamn emotional, my dudes. i've got nothing else coherent to say.
epik high  'we've done something wonderful' what an opus for a trio that have been in the industry as long as they have. showing the group's maturity and with the probability that this could be their last album, this album while brilliantly produced and never straying far from the group's unique flavor, was a little sadder, a little more somber in comparison to their previous release. but as far as last releases go, this was a not a bad goodbye. no thanxxx, here come the regrets, bleed, tape2002, and 문배동 단골집 were standout tracks. when the quiett said 'mind ya fucking business'? i felt that.
kim kak sung  'heartless emotion'
to anyone who hasn’t heard of him, get on it. with a voice that could rival oh hyuk's huskiness, kim kak sung delivered an album filled with pulpy eccentricity. a great mix of folk and even dabbling in christian rock sonics with the use of organs, this album is robust and mellow, comprehensive in its own right and horribly underrated.
honorable mentions:
zion.t - 'oo', primary's - ‘shinrinyu’ & ‘pop’, jinbo - ‘krnb2 part 1′, oohyo - ‘pizza’, ashmute - ‘scenery’, yoon jong shin - ‘like’, millic - ‘vida’
what are your favorite releases of 2017? 2016 list / 2015 list

5k Survey XLVII
2401. Does love come from the brain, the heart or elsewhere? >> Listen, all “love” is to me is a set of behaviours. I don’t know where the impetus to do those behaviours comes from, I don’t know what kind of emotional resonance those behaviours are supposed to have, and I’m consistently annoyed at being asked about this esoteric concept that I’m perfectly content to leave to the poets. 2402. Have you ever given a shot? If not, do you think you could give one to a loved one if you HAD to? Do you think you could give one to yourself? >> I’ve done it (on myself and on another person -- the same kind of shot, incidentally: testosterone) and I’d do it again. It’s not that difficult. The difficult ones they save for the professionals, obviously. 2403. Can you lick your elbow? Come on, didja try? >> No. And no, I did not try, because I already know the answer. 2404. If i was going to be talking to you for 10 minutes, what would be something really interesting you know a little bit about but would like to know more? >> Anything relating to mythology. 2405. If today was a holiday, what would it be? >> ---
2406. If you were making a mix tape what would you HAVE to have one it? >> --- 2407. What do you think of the Sopranos? >> I don’t think of it, I’ve never seen it. 2408. Can you name three good things about the society you live in? How about three bad things? >> Probably, but I don’t feel like thinking about it right now. 2409. Have you ever had a crush on your teacher? How about your boss? >> I don’t know if I’d call it a crush, in hindsight. I mean, maybe it was. But mostly I was just glomming onto a pretty-ish man who paid me positive attention, as an emotionally-neglected, traumatised teenager will. 2410. What is the difference between acting like someone in high school and acting like an adult? >> I assume emotional maturity is one of the major differences. 2411. What is the difference between a whopper and a whopper jr? >> The Whopper is larger, I’d assume. 2413. Do you like: Moby? Run DMC? the Cure? Yes. Shakira?  Blink182? A couple of songs. the Pet Shop Boys? Weezer? Eh, occasionally. Red Hot Chilli Peppers? Yes. Nick cave? YES. The Pixies? Well, I do like that one song. You know the one. KRS-One? The Juice Crew? 2414. Have you ever seen a movie in 3D? >> I’ve seen several movies in 3D. For some reason, the glasses that seem to bother almost everyone I know don’t bother me... which is ironic because I’m the one who’s sensitive to everything sensory-wise. :V 2415. How difficult do you think it is for immigrants to come into your country? How difficult is it for them to become citizens? >> I assume it’s more difficult to immigrate here now than it was when I was a kid. I think it’s been difficult to obtain citizenship for a while, though. 2416. Do you have what it takes to go live in another country, maybe for years, where you don’t speak the language as your first language? >> I don’t know. What does it take? 2418. have you ever died in your dreams? >> Once. 2419. Do you like Douglas Adams? Eh. Kurt Vonnegut?  Tom Robbins? Philip K Dick? Orson Scott Card? It’s been so long since I read that one book that I don’t know how I feel about this author anymore. 2420. What clothing size are you? What size do you wish you were? Did you know that Marilyn Monroe was a size 12(and lots of people think she’s HOT)? >> That obviously depends on the kind of clothing (and the brand, the country of origin, the gender it’s catering to...). As far as Marilyn Monroe is concerned, I don’t care. 2421. Does science leave room for faith? Does faith leave room for science? >> Those concepts are indifferent towards each other. The people who stand for one of those concepts may vary widely in their acceptance of the other. 2422. What book should our political leaders read and why? >> --- 2423. Why and under what circumstances are people more likely to buy brand names rather then their generic counterparts? >> Like, I understand it’s hard to think of 5000 questions and all, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with all these Google-type questions. 2424. What is your favorite glass object? >> I don’t have a favourite glass object. ...My computers have glass in them? 2425. Do you like to window shop? >> I don’t. 2426. Have you ever loved someone so much it just turned to hate? >> That sounds like an interesting situation to be in. I’d like to pick the brain of anyone who answers “yes” to this. 2427. What is arrogance? >> Can I introduce you to a guy named Webster... 2428. Are you more liberal or conservative? >> Liberal, if I must declare. 2429. When there is a presidential election in the USA why do we never hear anything about the third party candidates? Do you even know who they were last time? >> Because the bipartisan system is what pays the bills, or whatever. No, I don’t generally look into the third-party candidates, because these days, what’s the point? 2430. Are you more likely to buy one really nice expensive outfit or a couple of cheap outfits? >> I mean, I buy what I can afford... which is usually not the former. 2431. If you could, would you wear everything once, throw it out and buy something new? >> I really the fuck wouldn’t. I hate that that’s a thing at all. 2432. Do you believe that people have a responsibility to be: good to other people? good at their job? helpful to the earth(not litter, recycle)? aware consumers(not buy animal tested products, not buy products that were made in sweatshops, etc)? non-wasteful (not spend their money frivolously when they could save it to help others)? charitable (donating money, volunteering)? Which of the above are you? >> So, I don’t know anything about social responsibility. I don’t consider myself qualified to dictate what other people should be doing with their life, energy, money, time, whatever. I can barely figure out what I ought to do with my own. As far as what responsibilities from the above I’ve undertaken... yeah, I don’t know. I do my best to not be a dick to other people and I do my best to be aware of what I consume and how much. But let’s be real, most of my time, energy, and whatever disposable money I have goes to managing myself on a daily basis, which is a full time job. 2433. How do you feel about the internet? Should there be laws and censorship on the internet? >> I love the internet. I think there should be laws restraining corporate interests, and certainly the things that are illegal in meatspace should remain illegal in cyberspace. I don’t think the government should be censoring the average user’s content, though. That doesn’t seem constitutional. 2434. Can you think of any questions that aren’t already on this survey? >> I could if I tried. Am I going to try? No. 2435. Does sleep seem like a little death to you? >> Yeah, sometimes. If I’m in a particularly anxious vibe, I can end up fixating on the deathlike feeling of falling asleep, which obviously prevents me from falling asleep. It’s annoying. 2436. Have you ever seen(and if yes, what did you think of): Joy Ride? Ghost World? Monsters Inc?  Queen of the Damned? Yes, quite a few times. I enjoy parts of it, mainly out of it just being a regular fixture in my life for a few years in my twenties. Office Space? Yeah, and I thought it was pretty great. 2437. At what age did you find out that Santa Claus wasn’t real? >> I was never taught about him in the first place. 2438. How many pairs of shoes do have in your closet? Do you like to wear the same shoes everyday or do you like a variety?: >> I have two pairs of shoes, not counting weather boots. So yes, I’m usually wearing the same shoes every day (the sneakers most often in the summer, the boots more often the rest of the year). 2439. How many lovers have you had? >> Hm. 2440. Have you ever had surgery? For what? >> No. 2441. What puts you in the mood for sex? >> Some stuff Inworlders do. But most of the time, it’s just a random urge. It can happen multiple times in a week or not happen for weeks and then randomly happen. 2442. Have you ever been on alcohol or drugs while at school or work? >> --- 2443. What do you think of Martha Stewart? >> I don’t think of Martha Stewart. 2445. What do you think of: British people? This is stereotype bait. Australians? Americans? Canadians? Mexicans? French people? Germans?  2446. What do you do to cure the hiccups? >> I don’t ever have hiccups for longer than, like, a couple of minutes, so. 2447. What is the FIRST thing you do when you come home from school or work? >> --- 2448. Are you a slob? >> No. 2449. Do you have a good work ethic? >> I don’t know, I’ve never been in a situation where work felt fulfilling and I felt like I was of some real use to the world. I’d imagine that could have an effect on one’s “work ethic”, but hey, what do I know. 2450. Are you a pack-rat? >> Rather the opposite, I’d say.

I told her that Halloween is way too cool a holiday to suffer through this every year. Dee Snider • Halloween is just a made up holiday, created by the razor blade industry. – Anthony Jeselnik • Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I always go all-out with my costumes.- Ginnifer Goodwin • Halloween is the beginning of the holiday shopping season. Spring. Easter. Then there’s my birthday in May. I’ll be seventeen. How long can I stave it off? I don’t know. And I think what we’re going to do with Fantastic Four is going to be very grounded and it made sense to me. I love Halloween, too. – Gwen Stefani • If I were to remake a movie, I’d love to remake Halloween 3 Season of the Witch because even though it’s a very flawed film, at its core is a brilliant idea: An evil toymaker is set to kill all the children of the world on Halloween night – and I think that’s absolutely fantastic. So whoever has the rights can give me a call. – Bryan Fuller • If I’m really honest, I’m not a huge fan of scary films. They said things like, “If this were the Middle Ages, you’d be married and you’d own a farm with about a million chickens on it.” They were trying to kick you out of childhood. Once you were gone, there was no going back, so you had to hold on as long as you could. – Heather O’Neill • People value Halloween, like Valentine’s Day, because they can tell themselves that it’s not merely secularized but actually secular, which is to say, not Christian, Jewish, Hindu or Muslim. – Amity Shlaes • Pixie, kobold, elf, and sprite, All are on their rounds tonight; In the wan moon’s silver ray, Thrives their helter-skelter play. – Joel Benton • Pop culture is more and more about skulls and skeletons and zombies and vampires, and that’s not just on Halloween. Michael Almereyda • Remember when we used to worry about some weirdo having a razor blade inside an apple on Halloween? Not anymore. Like a kid today would eat an apple. Jay Leno • Right. Because there’s no bigger sign of commitment than a Halloween dance – Richelle Mead • Shadows of a thousand years rise again unseen, Voices whisper in the trees, “Tonight is Halloween!” – Dexter Kozen • She liked anything orange: leaves; some moons; marigolds; chrysanthemums; cheese; pumpkin, both in pie and out; orange juice; marmalade. Orange is bright and demanding. You can’t ignore orange things. She once saw an orange parrot in the pet store and had never wanted anything so much in her life. She would have named it Halloween and fed it butterscotch. Her mother said butterscotch would make a bird sick and, besides, the dog would certainly eat it up. September never spoke to the dog again — on principle. – Catherynne M. Valente • Since I was 15 years old I’ve never been able to spend Christmas, Halloween or Thanksgiving (with friends and family). This was the first time I was able to enjoy a Super Bowl. – Brendan Shanahan • So when I open the door on Halloween, I am confronted by three or four imaginary heroes, such as G.I. Joe, Conan the Barbarian and Oliver North, who would look very terrifying except that they are three feet tall and facing in random directions. They stand there silently for several seconds before an adult voice hisses from the darkness behind them: “Say ‘Trick or treat! – Dave Barry • So when it came to making the movie I guess I had a really good sense innately of what it was that makes Halloween really great. In that it is a holiday for everybody now. When I was a kid I felt like it was mostly for kids, maybe that’s just the way it always is when you’re a kid, but I think now more than ever it’s for grown ups too. When I was a kid I don’t think there were quite as many sexy adult costumes and we definitely didn’t have all these Spirit Halloween stores that pop up every October. – Michael Dougherty • Speak out, educate, do not be intimidated by the apologists, and do not let extreme racism be mainstreamed. Hopefully there will come a time when we don’t need to tell our kids that Halloween is no excuse for hate, and that blackface has no place in a civilized society. Christine Pelosi • Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires. William Shakespeare • Studio 54 made Halloween in Hollywood look like a PTA meeting. Lorna Luft • Target launch date for Falcon I maiden flight is Halloween(October 31) from our island launch complex in the Kwajalein Atoll. For potential customers out there, I should mention that Kwajalein has some of the worlds best scuba diving and snorkeling! It is literally a tropical paradise. Elon Musk • Technically my dog’s naked most of the time. Except halloween, when I dress him up as Liza Minelli. – Craig Ferguson • That’s definitely true! It was before my father died, so I can’t attribute it to an obsession with death. When I was seven, I loved those old Sherlock Holmes movies with Basil Rathbone. The Scarlet Claw was one of my faves. And I loved all the Halloween’s and that film about the haunted house… Burnt Offerings, with Oliver Reed. Every birthday party was a slumber party and we’d watch horror films. – Cate Blanchett • That’s why we’re doing this, to defend our traditions a little. I don’t have anything against it (Halloween), but it’s not our tradition. Fernando Flores • The artist must bow to the monster of his own imagination. – Richard Wright • The biggest surprise was a picture my mom sent me, just about the time that we were about to wrap up the book, of me as a 5-year-old dressed in my first Halloween costume that she made for me. I said, “What’s this? I never saw this photo.” And she said, “We made you this black-and-orange Halloween costume out of crepe paper” – we were too poor to have fabric back then – “and you wanted to go as the Queen Of Halloween.” And I was like, “What?” And she said, “Yeah, the Princess Of Halloween, the Queen Of Halloween, something like that. – Cassandra Peterson • The first Halloween was very well made. The second one was also well made, though I didn’t like it as well as the first one. The third one had nothing to do with the series at all and perhaps shouldn’t have been made at all. Donald Pleasence • The holiday is clearly growing in importance for the industry. Halloweens fun, enjoyable and doesn’t require a big investment to celebrate. The primary focus is the child and families typically do all they can to make sure the children have fun. – Richard Hastings • The idea is to make sure that these sex offenders are occupied with constructive matters and not focused on the children who may be knocking at their doors this Halloween Andrew Spano • The idea of dying and coming back is what makes the Halloween films work. Donald Pleasence • The Jawbreaker writer-director Darren Stein was a huge fan of Carrie and Halloween. He was like a kid. He was 26, so he was such a fan. He wanted William Katt and I, from Carrie, to be in the movie as the parents. We had a little bit more that ended up on the cutting-room floor, but that was kind of fun. Everybody that worked on that movie was really cool, including the girls, especially the new girl, the blonde, Judy Greer. – P. J. Soles • The perfect weather of Indian Summer lengthened and lingered, warm sunny days were followed by brisk nights with Halloween a presentiment in the air.- Wallace Stegner • The Queens Of The Stone Age have teamed up with multimedia wizard brain Liam Lynch to make the video for ‘Burn The Witch’ , a home-made affair that’s just in time for Halloween. For the band, playing both the roles of cast and crew paid ginormous dividends, in the form of a video that cuts the heads off all contemporaries . – Joshua Homme • Then, finally, the third year, begging the parents, I got the Superman Halloween costume. Cardboard box, self-made top, mask included. Remember the rubber band on the back of that mask? That was a quality item there, wasn’t it? That was good for about 10 seconds before it snapped out of that cheap little staple they put it in there with. – Jerry Seinfeld • There is nothing funny about Halloween. This sarcastic festival reflects, rather, an infernal demand for revenge by children on the adult world. Jean Baudrillard • There’s going to be a Halloween costume [of lavash from Sausage Party]. The whole thing is just so ridiculous. It’s nice. It’s silly, and it’s surreal. – David Krumholtz • They take the greats from the past and compare us. I wonder if they’d ever survive in this era. In a time where it’s recreation, to pull all your skeletons out the closet like Halloween decorations. – Drake • This Halloween, the most popular mask is the Arnold Schwarzenegger mask. And the best part? With a mouth full of candy you will sound just like him. Conan O’Brien • Two Polish men at Halloween with burned faces. What happened? They were bobbing for french fries. – Henny Youngman • Waiting is one of life’s hardships. It is hard enough to wait for chocolate cream pie while burnt roast beef is still on your plate. It is plenty difficult to wait for Halloween when the tedious month of September is still ahead of you. But to wait for one’s adopted uncle to come home while a greedy and violent man is upstairs was one of the worst waits the Baudelaires had ever experienced. – Daniel Handler • Want to continue to try and break the barrier between male and female. If you want to do that, that’s fine. At our shows, it’s like a Halloween party, which isn’t a bad thing. I’d like to see more of it actually. – Twiggy • We had nine pails of candy for Halloween, now we are down to one. They go for a lot of the candy mixes. I think that they buy them for themselves sometimes. Brenda V. Smith • We post photos of the Halloween costumes and the mustaches made of cupcake frosting. We don’t record the tantrums?and that’s as it should be. But we shouldn’t mistake that for reality. It’s stagecraft. Libby Copeland • We talked to a lot of filmmakers who had worked on other anthologies and we looked at every anthology, and we wanted to just find a different way [for Tales of Halloween]. And being that unity was what the whole spirit of the project was – unity and friendship and community. – Mike Mendez • We used to go around tipping outhouses over, or turning over corn shocks on Halloween. Anything to be mean. – Loretta Lynn • We were a family that made our Halloween costumes. Or, more accurately, my mother made them. She took no suggestions or advice. Halloween costumes were her territory. She was the brain behind my brothers winning girl costume, stuffing her own bra with newspapers for him to wear under a cashmere sweater and smearing red lipstick on his lips. – Ann Hood • We’ve become great friends with Rob Zombie, and I gave him my original script for Halloween for his 40th birthday. Like, Nicolas Cage was there with a shrunken head he brought as a gift, all these things, and I’m thinking, “What can I give Rob Zombie? This is very weird.” And I just happened to look at my pile of scripts and I went, “My kids don’t need all these. I think I’ll give him my original Halloween script, since he told me that was his favorite movie, and I was his favorite actress from that time period.” I said, “He deserves to have that.” – P. J. Soles • We’ve got a major scandal with Clinton. Plus, Halloweens on a Saturday this year. – C. Sue Carter • We’ve never done a coordinated music effort. Everything else we’ve done has been around a holiday – Halloween, Mardi Gras, half way to Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day. – Craig Johnson • What we think of as Halloween is really the product of media barons, city mayors, and candy-makers. You know, before the 1920s, Halloween was really a terrible, terrible night. Chuck Palahniuk • When I came off the Halloween movies, they were very stressful movies to make. That had been four very stressful years. I’m happy with how they turned out, but getting the end results took so much fighting with people and so much craziness, that at the end of it I was so burnt out. Rob Zombie • When I was a kid I got busted for throwing a rock through a car window and egging a house on halloween. – Gavin DeGraw • When I was a kid my family was really poor and I remember one Halloween I wanted to dress up really scary and my parents came home with a duck costume. I wore that costume for years! I hated it. R. L. Stine • When I was eighteen, River Phoenix was far and away my hero. Think of all those early great performances – My Own Private Idaho. Stand by Me. I always wanted to meet him. One night, I was at this Halloween party, and he passed me. He was beyond pale – he looked white. Before I got a chance to say hello, he was gone, driving off to the Viper Room, where he fell over and died. That’s a lesson. – Leonardo DiCaprio • When I was just five years old, I loved the scary layer and the symbolical power of the red cloak. I made my mom make me that red cloak, and I had to wear it on Halloween, two years in a row. – Catherine Hardwicke • When it comes to romance, I’m really simple. I am really a ‘dinner and a movie’ type of person, and I love food, so surprise me and order something different or adventurous when it comes to food, and I’m like a kid at Halloween. Sasha Grey • Who are you writing to, Linus?” “This is the time of year to write to the Great Pumpkin. On Halloween Night, the Great Pumpkin rises out of his pumpkin patch and flies through the air with his bag of toys for all the children!” “You must be crazy! When are you going to stop believing in something that isn’t true?” “When *you* stop believing in that fellow with a red suit and the white beard who goes, ‘Ho, ho, ho!'” “We’re obviously separated by denominational differences. – Charles M. Schulz • With Halloween coming this weekend, they say not one person in the country is planning to dress up as Governor Sarah Palin. You know why? … The costume costs $150,000. – Jay Leno • With Halloween on a Monday this year, that gives people a chance to have parties on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. – Suzanne Smith • With Halloween, the director was this genius wonder boy who was the writer, director, producer, along with his girlfriend. They were this team, and they were making this small movie, and it was just completely different, but it was really inspiring and a lot of fun, and also allowed me to do a lot of improvisation, because they just depended on the girls to expand their parts to bring some real life, being girls ourselves, to the characters. – P. J. Soles • With the garden I planted for the Reina Sofia, each plant related to different celebrations along the calendar – Christmas with evergreen trees, Valentine’s Day with roses, Halloween with pumpkins. All these symbols are so culturally loaded, but they are organic living entities – just like the fish in the tanks. They grow on their own. The symbolic ecosystem is growing without a narrative anymore. It’s a physical and mental landscape. – Pierre Huyghe • You kids have fun, and be home by Thanksgiving!” our parents would call to us on Halloween night, as we staggered out the front door, weighed down by hundreds of pounds of concealed vandalism supplies, including enough raw eggs to feed Somalia for decades. By morning, thanks to our efforts, the entire neighborhood would be covered with a layer of congealed shaving cream and toilet paper that, around certain unpopular neighbors’ homes, was hundreds of feet thick. This is how the Appalachian Mountains were formed.- Dave Barry • You look at Cheney, Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, and Bush – if you saw them on Halloween, they wouldn’t need a costume. You’d give them a treat and compliment them on what great-looking demons they were. They are demons. There’s no doubt about it. Tommy Chong • You would think that Halloweens tomorrow because of their attempt to scare the American public. Jim Sensenbrenner • You’ll see everything from gold teeth to hood ornaments. It’s almost like Halloween during August. David Carson

THE GREAT CRUNCHYROLL NARUTO REWATCH Goes Matchmaking in Episodes 190-196!
Welcome to THE GREAT CRUNCHYROLL NARUTO REWATCH! I’m Kara Dennison, and I’ll be your host this week as we run through all 220 episodes of the original Naruto anime adaptation like an army of Kyles through Area 51. In last week's episodes 183-189, we left behind the Hidden Star Village and took on the Peddlers Escort Mission. This week, episodes 190-196 close out our journey to the Land of Greens and then take us on a series of one-shot and two-episode missions.
I figured after Joseph Luster nearly tapped out last week that things had to start looking up... but boy, it's been a mixed bag. Out of the frying pan that was the Hidden Greens Village and straight into the fire that was "Chubby Paradise" - probably my least favorite episode to date. And judging by this week's answers, I wasn't alone. Fortunately, that was balanced out with some fun: Hinata awesomeness, a hungry hungry house, and Tsunade being... well... peak Tsunade. Plus, we get the return of Rock Lee and Might Guy!
So, as we approach the threshhold of the final two dozen episodes, let's see what the team thought of this batch of filler!
We’ve seen some pretty nasty jutsu before, but between Jiga’s suffocating magnetized sand and Renga’s “ants under a magnifying glass” treatment, the Janin brought (and suffered) some brutal tactics. What Naruto death or attack has freaked you out the most so far… or are you too stone cold for that kind of thing?
Paul: “Death by Wooly Willy into giant sand pit” is a pretty bad way to go, but honestly the technique that freaks me out the most is the Shinigami one that the Third Hokage uses to seal Orochimaru's arms. If that Jutsu lands properly, then both the wielder and the victim are banished to an eternal hell-realm where their spirits remained locked in combat forever, and that's some messed up metaphysics.
Kevin: A lot of the more shocking deaths and techniques probably would’ve been more effective if I hadn’t seen the show before. That being said, I’d probably choose the Sound Ninja that used the gauntlets and had half his face wrapped up (okay look, the death and character design made an impression. The actual character, not so much). We didn’t see any detail, but we see his terror, we get a silhouette of what Gaara can become (if I’m remembering the episode correctly), and then he’s just gone. There’s so little fanfare that we don’t even hear about it beyond Sasuke mentioning that his opponent didn’t show up for some reason.
Joseph: I’d say it’s that Mangekyou Sharingan move Itachi used on Sasuke and others to essentially lock them in an eternal loop of reliving their own personal tragedies.
Noelle: Same like Kevin, I’ve seen the show before, so I know what’s coming. I don’t think I remember being particularly creeped out by any of the deaths, because none of them were major characters. More than the gruesome factor of character deaths, I react to the emotional weight of them so no, I haven’t really felt anything.
Danni: Getting caught by Itachi’s Mangekyou Sharingan seems like a pretty raw deal, to say the least.
Jared: Mangekyou Sharingan would definitely rank up there in terms of just pure psychological horror. Also any bug attacks. Just yuck.
David: Honestly Gaara’s entire skill set gives me the creeps, just because of how intensely it would set off any sort of claustrophobia (before crushing me to death of course).
Carolyn: I guess I just watch too much horror to really be affected like that. From a writing/storytelling standpoint, the most emotional death was the Third Hokage’s. Every character ended up dealing with his death in their own way (including Orochimaru), while also being a major point of growth for Naruto.
So, that whole Princess Fuku scenario… I’m going to save us all a bunch of time and ask if there’s anything you dislike about Naruto that didn’t make its way into this episode.
Paul: Fat-phobia? Check. Weird assumptions and gender-based hang-ups? Check. Naruto turning into a piss-sprinkler? Check. Jiraiya, even though he's not physically present, still managing to encourage Naruto’s questionable behavior? Check. With the free space in the middle, I think I've got a “bingo” here...
Kevin: Fart jokes, I guess? In looking for something, anything, good in this episode, a few of Ino’s reactions are so over the top and abrupt that I chuckled a little. But even those were humorous more due to the sudden tonal shift, and the more you remember what caused them, the less funny they become.
Joseph: It’s a bad episode through and through. I really disliked the previous arc, though, so I was fine with just letting my eyes glaze over at the screen for this one.
Noelle: I don’t even know where to begin, admittedly. I don’t think I liked a single moment of this one. It’s just... bad, and not worth a watch at all.
Danni: At least there were no dead ghost moms?
Jared: I guess there’s no Jiraiya accosting sexy jutsu Naruto, which is probably one of the few bad things this show does that it didn’t somehow include here.
David: Oh, to be a fly on the wall in the writers' room as they were checking off the list of obnoxious things to include here. Really feels purposeful at this point.
  Carolyn: Sasuke.
Up next is yet another “outsider infiltrates with disastrous results” episode, once again with the cast unsuspecting of a disguise in play. If you were a ninja, how could a friend or family member verify you’re you, and not an enemy ninja using a Disguise Jutsu?
Paul: My family would be able to identify the real me by inquiring about embarrassing childhood moments that – even though I'm now 37 years of age – they still bring up on the regular for some reason. My friends would be doomed, though, since they don't know the hidden meaning of the phrase “Baby Brontosaurus." They're not asking. I'm not telling.
Kevin: Until this episode, I would’ve thought that a sparring match would be pretty definitive evidence in a world where practically every named character can fight and knows magical martial arts. But apparently everyone decided to leave their brains at home for a few episodes.
Joseph: They’d probably just ask what my favorite Nightmare on Elm Street movie is and if I ever gave the same answer twice they’d know it’s not really me.
Noelle: Beyond some personal information that I rarely disclose, getting me to start monologuing about doujin and the discrepancy between US self-pub and JP/KR self-pub is a good way to start.
Danni: They’d play either of the Love Live! Sunshine!! ending themes for me and if I did not immediately start crying, they would Hurricane Leaf Kick my doppleganger to death.
Jared: Probably something similar to Danni’s with it being a Sunshine!! question or asking if Garou: Mark of the Wolves has one of the pettiest stories in all of video games.
David: Just start asking me about my hyper-specific opinions on the Fate franchise as a whole, and you’ll know it’s me when it goes on far longer than you were hoping.
Carolyn: If they asked which Stephen King books I own and the imposter actually knew all of them without pulling up a Google doc, they are lying. Also probably anything involving Buffy.
And we’re back to another ghost episode… so yeah, we’re to the point when recycling concepts is much more the rule than the exception, and there’s not long left for that to change. To that end, is there a filler episode whose concept you’d like to see revisited, and how would you improve on it?
Paul: As others have already mentioned, I'd like to see more exploration of the shinobi-inspired offshoots of ordinary jobs, like the ninja chefs and the ninja postal delivery service. In the former case, a straightforward cooking contest without the kidnapping angle would work, and in the latter case, anything that didn't involve Jiraiya's erotic literature preventing a war between rival nations would be a step up. I'd also love an entire episode that's just everyone taking their pets and summons to the ninja veterinarian for check-ups.
Kevin: Two options: One, Naruto as a mentor, maybe in charge of Konohamaru’s group, maybe not, but take the episode to show that he’s changed a little and has a bit more patience now. Two, back to the idea of the Ninja Chefs and Ninja Postmen. Just take normal jobs, slap Ninja on the front, and make a fun episode from it. It may not make any sense, but at least it could be entertaining.
Joseph: I’d love to see literally anyone else but the main crew we’ve been following. Show me what Gamabunta is up to in the land of the big frogs or something.
Noelle: Honestly, thirding the ‘normal jobs, but with ninja’ idea. We get a good enough grasp on the world, not down to the details, but enough that we can have a general idea of how things work. I’m the type of person that likes looking at small details, so show me the gears of this world, and how people function on the day to day (with ninja superpowers).
Danni: Anything involving Might Guy, honestly. I’ve said it multiple times and it’s because I believe it: give me a day-in-the-life episode of Guy and Kakashi as roommates. I want to see them fight over who has to do the dishes.
Jared: Definitely weird ninja jobs that haven’t been discussed yet or maybe something as simple as a non-Naruto focused episode where we just get a look at other characters doing either their routine or how they handle things when Naruto isn’t around.
David: More food episodes, this time without the baggage of an actual “threat”. I just want to see our cast cooking up food in ridiculous magic ninja ways!
Carolyn: My favorite filler episodes so far have been the Scooby-Doo ghost and the live-burial death cult. I’d be happy to explore the actual psychology and lore of the death cult.
We finish out with two episodes of Rock Lee goodness, this time with Lee and Guy beating the snot out of each other via chakra WiFi. Several of us expressed (understandable) concern about Guy’s mentoring style during the Chunin Exam. How do we feel about the sensei/student interaction a couple dozen episodes from the end?
Paul: I like the idea of Rock Lee and Might Guy clashing by proxy through Chakra-controlled practice dummies, and I enjoy how that situation resolves, but I'm ambivalent about Guy's tutoring style and Lee's ambitions. Even though they explicitly address the idea of over-training, and even though Lee ends up on crutches again this episode, I don't feel that Lee has internalized any lessons about not absolutely destroying himself on his quest to achieve ninja mastery through Taijutsu. I’d like to see him fight smarter, not harder.
Kevin: Honestly, Guy and Lee’s relationship may be one of the more complicated in the series. Sure, it’s as simple as “Lee follows after Guy like a puppy,” but that means that Lee is always driving himself far beyond his natural limits, and Guy encourages him pretty much the whole way, until Lee’s body gives out. It’s a self-destructive relationship for Lee, and Guy is enabling it while also genuinely trying to be a supportive figure, to the point that he gets Lee to accept a potentially lethal surgery by telling him that if Lee dies, they’ll die together. There’s a lot of darkness hiding behind the shining teeth and can-do attitudes. As for how I feel about it, I honestly would need to sit down and think for a while, and even then I’m not sure I could come up with a definitive answer.
Joseph: The whole ‘you die, I die’ thing still bugs me. I like where Guy is coming from but these filler episodes don’t do much to convince me he’s the best teacher ever. He may be the most supportive teacher ever, but it’s to a fault. Rock Lee is still great but honestly he’s too good for this show at this point.
Noelle: It’s honestly very complicated, because there is no clean-cut answer. The truth is that Lee does have to work twice as hard to stand up to his peers, because he naturally doesn’t have the talents that they do. Having someone who wholeheartedly supports him is pretty alluring, no matter how you look at it. At the same time, Guy is 100% enabling Lee to go past his limits in an unhealthy way, and that doesn’t really change here.
Danni: Ever since Lee miraculously recovered from his surgery in time to come to Naruto’s aid in the Sasuke Retrieval arc, I’ve kind of just accepted that subplot is entirely meaningless. Plus, at this point in the plot desert they’re clearly rehashing every single concept they’ve had so who cares?
Jared: Guy can be bad about allowing Lee to push past his limits in ways that he really shouldn’t, but at the same time, I think Lee would do that anyways as you’d really have to nail that into him that he shouldn’t. That’s pretty much what we saw here again. As some of the other’s have said, Guy is very supportive, but there’s a line between being supportive and being toxically supportive.
David: Unfortunately given Lee’s insistence, I really doubt there’s a realistic other option aside from someone convincing him that maybe he just isn’t meant to be a combat ninja, which maybe actually is the right answer?
Carolyn: Guy didn’t make Lee the way he is. Lee already had this tenacity and work ethic, Guy just helps it along by being supportive. And I still maintain that Jiraiya has done literally nothing for Naruto. So, as far as I’m concerned, Guy is far from the worst Sensei. Plus, Lee’s injuries don’t typically come from his training but in actual fights with abnormally powerful foes. You could also argue that the fact that he can actually walk and fight again at all is due to his drive, which Guy definitely helps to foster. I think their relationship is fine.
It’s probably a given what half of this answer will be, but for the sake of symmetry, what are your HIGH and LOW points of the week?
Paul: My high point is Tsunade attaching a pair of dummy arms to her overcoat so she can secretly drink sake when she’s supposed to be working, with an honorable mention going to the “ghost” episode which is actually about Naruto, Hinata, and Kiba encountering a “House Hunter” Mimic from Dungeons & Dragons. My low point is everything from the Princess Fuku episode. Fat people deserve to be romantic leads without being the butt of an endless series of lazy jokes.
Kevin: High – Tsunade entire setup before she sends out Tenten, Neji and Naruto to help Guy. She has fake arms to make it look like she’s actually doing work as she sneaks a cup of sake, and when she needs to make a team, she literally just has cards of the available genin and tries to form something half way workable for the few that are around. Low – I mean, is anyone NOT going to say the Princess Fuku episode? It was a 23 minute long fat joke that got maybe a chuckle out of me due to severe tonal shifts.
Joseph: My high was the living house episode. Look, sorry, I’m a simple man who’s a huge sucker for living houses. The low would have to be everything from the Greens arc. I’m just so tired of the bad Saturday morning action cartoon DiC side of Naruto. Don’t tease me with action and fights when it’s all so contrived, poorly animated, and laughably motivated.
Noelle: High point, the haunted house episode. As fun as actual supernatural stuff is, finding out that something is totally ridiculous instead is just as fun. Low point, if I ever have to think of the Princess Fuku episode again, it’ll be too soon.
Danni: My high point was easily when Hinata straight up killed a guy by burying him alive in his own jutsu without even batting an eye. She’s low-key cold-blooded when the chips are down. As for my low point, obviously it’s the Princess Fuku episode, even if it did give me lots of randomly inserted English and an evergreen line about not discriminating based on color.
Jared: High points would be Hinata getting a good bit of time to be super rad, the weird headshots Tsunade had of Lee, Tenten, Neji, and Naruto when she was doing her fake arms bit, Lee just randomly seeing a dojo challenge and thinking that’s a brilliant idea, flesh castle, and that ska ending. Low points would obviously be the Princess Fuku episode, end of the Land of Greens arc, and seeing multiple themes repeated that we’ve already seen in the filler.
David: Totally agree on the high point being Hinata being completely awesome this week (I put it down as something I was highly looking forward to last week and it didn’t disappoint.) The low point is of course Princess Fuku, but it probably deserves an award for being the lowest point of this entire run so far.
Carolyn: Yeah, how could the low be anything but that episode. Most specifically for me, Naruto being totally shocked that two people he considers heavy being in love as if that couldn’t possibly happen. And also … how old is Ino? Because … uh … High point: Rock Lee lives by his own rules! That’s not how medical science works, my dude. That line was hilarious.

Personal Review of Love Yourself 轉 'Tear' (Pt. 1)
I will be doing this in two parts just to make it a bit easier to read.
I’ve had the whole weekend since the release to immerse myself in listening to this album, and since I was very passionate about listening to MAMAMOO’s new direction of music, I decided to make a post about BTS’ recent release. I honestly did not want to be too hyped for it, for I think the last release fell a bit short (I do have favorites though), but the Intro and the news that it was going to be more R&B and hiphop had me intrigued. Also, I’m already attached to the group so I could not just look away that easily.
Thank you BTS-Trans.tumblr.com and other ARMYs that help international fans appreciate BTS’ lyricism.
1. Intro: Singularity - I love all the members, but most of the time I gravitate towards V’s personality. So listening to this track via music video release made me really proud of him. He really showed how all-around talented he his. Vocally, V’s voice is so deep and spacious, like those caverns you’d see in movies like Journey to the Center of the Earth. This track sounds sensual, but when the lyrics are regarded, it makes the track seem like a calm realization that the real self can’t be hidden forever. Initially, I interpreted the lyrics as a self-sacrifice in order to love someone else, but after reading it a couple of times, I concluded with more of an internal struggle between the persons one makes within. An inward self-sacrifice. I love these lyrics because of how it’s written as a short narrative and as well as me having had to interpret it in two different ways.
Using Stigma as my reference point, I shouldn’t be surprised that V would sing a track like this, but I’m glad he did it anyway because you can tell he has improved a lot and I think he used his tone the best here.
2.  Fake Love - What got me to like this song is how anthemic the hooks are. I can feel how tiring it is to keep up such kind of love. I think I wouldn’t have noticed it if I’m not going through personal thoughts that are so similar to the lyrics.
I like how smooth and kinda dramatic the pre-choruses are. The raps don’t stick out to me as much as if I’m too slow to pay attention that they had rapped at all. They go over my head.
Overall, I don’t know why I keep expecting them to release an edgy title track when I should have been used to this since maybe HYYH era. It felt more pop.
3. 전하지 못한 진심 (The Truth Untold) ft. Steve Aoki - I think it’s obvious that this was the most unexpected song on the album because seeing Aoki’s name next to it, one can assume it could be another EDM hit. This track has got to be one of my favorites because I occasionally listen to ballads that grabs your soul and squeeze feelings out of you. The vocal line sounds like they’ve improved a lot and I’m glad they’re able to showcase their vocal strengths this way. I’m also happy that JK didn’t sound breathy for once in the lower ranges and even throughout the song. I love how simple this song with the subtle piano chords playing throughout until the last minute of the track. During this last minute, there’s more instrumental that sounded grandeur which builds up to this glaze of electric beats and electric guitar. “Ah, that’s where Aoki is probably,” I thought. This had me believing that the vocal line can pull of some rock ballad...maybe someday, haha.
Lyrically, it felt a bit painful because there’s conflict between wanting to show the real self towards someone else, but there’s a lack of confidence that’s preventing the truth to come out, which makes me sad but very reflective on how this song sounds: lonely and desperate.
4. 134340 - The instant this track played, I immediately thought LO FI. I watch a lot of Artist Youtubers and they’d play lofi music while showing their speedpaints.
The raps were cool, smooth, and lax to match the rhythm of the song. The chorus made me feel a bit nostalgic. Something about the melody made me think of the old songs my parents would play whenever we go on road trips. Overall, 134340 is an easy groove.
I enjoyed reading the lyrics as it compares the protagonist to Pluto, the dwarf planet. The feeling of being forgotten resonates with me. I kinda like the juxtaposition between the lyrics and the sound. It’s like looking up in the stars in the middle of a road trip, and suddenly feeling insignificant by comparing sizes. I can also imagine the solar system doing it’s thing of revolving around the sun during the chorus, now that I know they’re singing “All I’m doing is circling around you.”
5. 낙원 (Paradise) - By this track, I realize that this album (so far) reminded me of how MAMAMOO shifted their sound towards what’s trending in the KR&B and KhipHop scene. The vocals here made me wonder off to comparing them to what VIXX and MONSTA X’s latest releases. The only difference I have thought of is that BTS’ vocals sound more rough and “down-to-earth”, while VIXX’s vocals sound more prim and proper, and MONSTA X would sound in between BTS and VIXX. I don’t know how to describe, but BTS seems to have a better lower range because of V. So if I were to put each group in order of high range to low range, it would be VIXX, MONSTA X, then BTS.
Anyway, I love the group vocals by the end. There is so much going on instrumentally but it didn’t feel like a mess. An organized mess? Haha. Those chords and bass effects makes this song feel light and dreamy. The high hats weren’t overplayed and obnoxiously loud. This sound really suits the group because the rap verses flow felt so natural and then the vocals felt collective and supportive, rather than having each member sing a line.
Ah, I fell in love with the theme of the lyrics. It wouldn’t be BTS without encouragement of dreams, may it be something so simple or difficult to reach. I kinda like the idea of taking the time of enjoying and taking in life as you go along. And I say kinda because let’s be real, there are things that are better done at a certain time than later, but that is a different topic for another day.
After knowing about the lyrics, I can imagine this song being played during their PUMA ads.
There is a Part 2 to this...

Thoughts on Be The One
Tumblr media
I really, really liked the movie! I won’t say it was perfect, but… really, it doesn’t have to. It doesn’t even try to – it’s just a fun summer movie. Entertaining, cute, heartwarming and with some nice action scenes here and there (Grease, aka Shiny Golden Turd, fighting in the mall being my favorite by far!).
(sorry, it got super long!)
It’s heavily focused on Sento as a person and his bond with Banjou. Now, Sento fans will be delighted, while people who aren’t so fond of him will probably find it annoying that we have yet another scene with Sento being beaten up, having another existential crisis and thinking fondly of his dad, who was Super Important all along. While I definitely belong in the first category (remember I’m tumblr user kiryuusento, duh), I wish the movie didn’t focus so much on Sento and his issues, which is something that we’ve seen over and over in the main show, and allowed the other characters to shine. Damn, one of Build’s greatest strengths is the dynamic between the characters, and while we could see the best match boys in all their glory, everyone else just felt like a background character. Even Misora, our female lead!
Sawa and Misora were heavily underused even for Build standards. Their limited role kinda reminded me of the two girls from KR Black lol Then again, I do understand the movie is severely limited by its rather brief duration, and it’s not like Kazumin and Gentoku showed up for more than 5 minutes either, really. Even so, I can’t help but resent that we only got 10 seconds or less of Nascita Gang. And… it’s rather telling that in the final scene they’re walking together, but Sento walks ahead and Banjou catches up to him, while everyone else -including Misora, unfortunately- is left behind. It kinda showcases how this movie, and the show itself to a much lesser extent, is “Sento+Banjou & everyone else”.
This doesn’t mean, of course, that I didn’t appreciate the focus the best match boys got. If anything, I’m EXTREMELY happy (and it only makes the final minutes of ep 49 all the more touching). I’ve always wanted them to high five and they finally did it! It was so cool! And boy, did I miss their dumb banters. And that one scene where Sento talks so fondly about Banjou while a music box version of Be The One plays softly in the background left a deep impression on me, and I suck so much at words that I can’t explain properly what it made me feel. It felt so… sincere, so intimate, that I kinda blushed as if I wasn’t supposed to intrude in Sento’s heart like that. In the show we heard Banjou refer to Sento as his only partner, and now we hear Sento refer to him as his dear partner (which maybe sounds a tad too corny in English, which is why I guess O-T translated it as “he’s my partner, and I need him”)
As I said, Misora didn’t really have a prominent role, but I appreciated that her feelings for Sento were strong enough for her to cry while brainwashed. These noble feelings awakened Best Match Supporter Vernage, who was supposed to be inside Banjou (although this was never addressed, not even in the movie or the finale even though it would have made perfect sense to). There were still remnants of her consciousness in the bangle, and she used the little power she had left to give us a pretty cool suit.
Now, Shinobu. Mm. As I said maaany other times, Build has this ability to take ideas or concepts I’d normally dislike and make them appealing somehow. While Shinobu isn’t exactly a character that won me over, I appreciated to some extent his appearance in Be The One. At the same time, though, I found that one flashback with Takumi… a bit clumsy? Touching, sweet, but absurd at the same time. Shinobu knew, or suspected at the very least, that Evolt was a huge threat and so was Pandora Box. If so… why… did he………. take his own son…….. to this event. As a result of this decision, Katsuragi Jr. was also affected by the light (I guess he didn’t know this particular event would take place, as Evolt himself wasn’t aware of that). At least he did mention that Banjou was the key. Not that his son paid any attention to him, since he was -AND STILL IS- quite adamant on killing him.
(Also, I kinda snorted when he had this nearly epic scene where he talks about love and peace while there’s a huge alien wall killing people, but maybe that’s just me and my distasteful sense of humor)
I’m a bit :/// about how Shinobu was behind pretty much the Build System and even “Love and Peace” as a motto. The other retcon involving the Blood Tribe is so dumb it’s even funny imo. These randos were behind every single event from the main series all along. Just like Shinobu makes Katsuragi’s actions less impactful, the Blood Tribe makes Evolt slightly less menacing — he isn’t, after all, the big mastermind we were led to believe he was. He’s still cunning, though. That much is undeniable. And despite not really doing anything (besides saving Sento and hurting his feelings ehehe), everything went according to keikaku for him. Gotta respect that.
Other things:
I guess Misora, Sawa or Banjou couldn’t retrieve Pandora Box precisely because they were brainwashed
The dog scene was unexpected, but so cute. Sento really is an adorable character.
Evolt betrayed his own kind AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH FOR THAT.
A stadium is definitely the best place to go to when you run away from an angry mob. Luckily enough for our hero, Kazumin and Gentoku were already in that empty stadium!
This movie was so aesthetically pleasing!!! Thanks, Kamihoriuchi.
This doesn’t really have anything to do with the movie itself, but… wow! Over-Time really did an amazing job! I can’t believe the whole movie was translated barely hours after the raws were released!
There was no real need to make Banjou look like that, but the movie did it for us. I liked it when he got back to normal and decided to banjou up his edgelord-y outfit.
No offense, but the Big Bad’s evil laughter kinda sucks lol “ha   ha   ha    ha”
The scene in the rain where Sento remembers the moment where he was found by “Isurugi” was an AMAZING way to make the most of a flashback. “Who am I?”. A perfect question, that’s right. Thanks, Build.
Every single internal debate between Sento and Katsuragi is exactly my kind of content. Mr. Muto really did spoil me this time around. THANKS, BUILD.
My beloved Grease got a super cool scene in the mall AND got to use Fullbottles again! This is something I really liked from the Hokuto arc, and I’m glad to see him using them again. Also, there it is, the second twin breaker!
Getting strong Ryuki vibes from the battle between Big Bad vs Cross-Z Build.
So yeah, there are some things I’m not exactly happy about, but I really had fun watching it and in the end that’s what matters. I missed all these characters immensely, and I’m glad we got to see Sento and Banjou being the Best Match we always knew they were. Man, did I miss Build!

1. Who was the last person you held hands with?

2. Are you outgoing or shy?
I’m relatively outgoing I guess, just introverted. Ambiverted, so it depends on the situation and what I’m doing
3. Who are you looking forward to seeing?
School starts on Wednesday so I’m looking forward to seeing Selena, Eric, Liam, sparklebattle, and vivid-living-color. We got tech tomorrow, so Lexy, Allison, Brittany, and a few others
4. Are you easy to get along with?
I dunno really. Kinda? Depends on if I like you or not.
5.  If you were drunk would the person you like take care of you?
Of course. They’ve said they would before. Most definitely
6. What kind of people are you attracted to?
Nerdy and cute, similar to myself, preferably a girl, really nice but not afraid to speak her mind. Always ready to hit a dude. So basically I want Charlie Bradbury. This still reigns true but also Anna Kendrick or Rey
7. Do you think you’ll be in a relationship two months from now?
Probably not. Well I sure hope so.
8. Who from the opposite another gender is on your mind?
Quite a few boys actually, a girl or two, and one other (I’m nb so there is no “opposite”, not that there is in the first place). I’m not naming names for reasons. Um, Kai, Vine, someone else
9. Does talking about sex make you uncomfortable?
A bit
10.  Who was the last person you had a deep conversation with?

Good things have happened? I suppose. I got to do VBS with a bunch of my friends, went on retreat with the greatest group of people (including said friends), and then spent nearly 12 hours with that same group on Sunday, so those were all really good. After five alarms, I check Q, delete other notifications, get dressed, and leave the house
27. Do you wish your skin was lighter or darker?
This is a lil bit of a dangerous question, bc I’m already pale af, but I like it the way it is. Skin color is beautiful no matter what shade it is and nobody should feel the need to change it. A little darker
