Rgb's Harsh reality and past

Today I would love to explain the details and how his world around him was messing him up. This will have Spoilers so please avoid if you haven't read or finish this comic! Remember Im not a great person at explaining things because of a difficulty I have. But I'll try my best ;v;

Rgb Didn't seem to have an easy job working in the Arts industry. He had harsh treatments for slacking off and treated poorly not only by his boss but others around his working environment. Sharing that someone called him an idiot is a red flag for a working environment. The environment he is in isn't healthy for him and could easily tire himself out and hurt his mental health. The fact he was seen sleeping on his desk could show that he rarely gets any sleep because he is becoming a workaholic. Driving himself to keep signing paperwork until his tasks are done. Trying to keep himself caught up .

See how boss is capitalized like BOSS?. Do you see how Want is written?. This shows how aggressive this person is towards him. Trying to get him to wake up by hitting him with a newspaper to keep him awake. This is a sign of work abuse. And how everyone, including his boss is pushing him to work harder and faster. Rgb is being hitted and forced to overwork without any sleep.

Now let's go over how his audience treat him? The answer is, do they care?. Do they wonder if he's alright?. Not Really...His audience are always excited to see him. They didn't care about how well he is. They just love his talents. And no one in the crowd acted realistic about him. They saw him as a idol, a star, anything special to them.

Now the Doctor was a guy I really wanna smack lmao. But anyways. The way he doesn't take him seriously. How the audience reacted with him like it's a comedy. No one takes him seriously. They think he's still in character.

How everyone laughed at him. How much anger and frustration he's in. They all think it's an act. His mental state is bad and he isn't in the right headspace. How angry he gets when he wants to smash a mirror. It's a sign of aggression and low self-esteem. His hands has grown shaky because of how weak and distressed he is. Yet the doctor tells him therapy is a old scam when he needed help.

He instead offers him to wear gloves and tells him to Not look at mirrors.

Rgb has been overworked. Has his troubles Ignored, and been laughed by his own audience. This shows how much his mental state has gone through. As a person. As a human being. He's been treated as is he's just a cartoon that could do anything to keep people satisfied and happy. Rgb was a character that was misunderstood by everyone around him. running away from his own troubles was because he was scared. finding a hero because of his second chances with Hate. Many hero's we're lost by mistake because of him. Would I say it was all of his fault?. Yes but no. He showed he wasn't a bad person because he found His Hero. He loved her and Comforted her when she's crying. Yeah he was a rat with her at first. But the more they bonded the more Hero saw him as a best friend. He lost many hero's because he keeps repeating a mistake he kept failing to fix.

Any critics about this small talk is welcome.

But wow. First of all. I immediately had many many questions when RGB asked if Hero wanted to be a hero. But she immediately said yes. No questions. Followed along this brightly colored tv-headed guy to this world above the clouds ?? So I'm curious with her. Of her. Of RGB.

Then when he started explaining that certain entities are Lies, Doubts, Fears. That they use dreams and nightmares to fight and help heal. That she can get carried away with an Idea. I fell in love with that concept of creating this world that utilizes emotions and concepts and made them tangible and representative of the world. It took me until Hero literally exclaiming what their world was for me to realize it tho lmao but my gosh doesn't that make everything so much more amazing when u think of all the elements, the characters who are realized and those searching for inspiration and waiting for their story. It's so amazing to think about.

And I am so enamored by the characters, not just Hero and RGB. I am glad the other's are still part of this story even if their time as the hero ended.

And of course the art! Ofc ofc. I agree, the way the medium is played and utilized with how it's also part of the plot! Amazing. And it's gorgeous, too!

hello I would like to ask about ollie please (and her friends if you so wish). from the ask game. particularly I would like to know about 8 and 29 (puzzles & dreams)

8. Do complex puzzles confuse or intrigue them?

Ollie's not as much of a puzzle-fiend as Moe is, but she is smart in her own right. When she's given a puzzle she isn't already familiar with, I wouldn't call her "intrigued", it's more an intense focus, no talking or doing anything else until she's solved it. This does mean she struggles with the co-op part of LEDDlabs puzzles; having to work with others on a puzzle is what confuses and frustrates her.

Ok yeah ill include the other lab rats. Moe, as mentioned, loves doing puzzles. It is always excitement and fascination for them when things get complex. Rat has none of the other two's tenacity though. Unless he's like actively threatened, if the puzzle has more than 3 steps he's giving up, he does not care.

29. What recurring dreams do they have?

I don't think Ollie dreams very often, her sleep isn't very restful. But when she does, it's about being back her own lab. She doesn't know much else. I'll be nice and say her most recurring dream is about being bug-sized and living amongst her colony like a normal bug.

I know Rat doesn't dream. Sleeping is kind of a different thing for demons, so I think for him it's just that "eyes closed, eyes open, 10 hours have passed" sleep. It gets real disorienting when he ends up sleeping for like, multiple years.

I've actually considered having Moe dream sequences for the final comic. Inspired by TPoH's RGB dream sequences specifically, with those old film influences :3c Their recurring dreams all include audiences and mirrors.

TPoH Theory: Negative represents the repressed feelings of RGB

Yes i come here with another one of these.

CONTENT WARNING FOR MENTIONS OF DEPRESSION AND MENTAL ISSUES IN GENERAL

If these themes trigger or upset you, i recommend to stop reading this post.

So, this one will be more speculative than the last one, so don't expect a lot of evidence this time (And also Negative has only appeared two times so it's not like there's a lot of solid evidence at all)

Let's begin.

The first thing that can kinda be a clue is his name, Negative, RGB shows a lot of color, not just on his screen but on his clothes and the personality that he shows to other people, making Negative an opposite version of him not only because he's literally grayscale, but on the fact that it is how RGB truly feels, without color, full of fear (hence the color black) sadness and shame of himself for not being a better person.

This is also why i think that his only way of appearing is when someone drops tears on him, the tears trigger RGB's sadness caused by a possible depression, and thus, Negative appears.

As of why he protects Hero and fights for himself, since this is the world of make believe, i like to imagine that this is what RGB wants to be, he wants to protect Hero as much as he can because he grew attached to her and feels bad for the fact of taking her life away at such a short age, but due to him being someone who doesn't like to show his emotions, (and also a coward) he just represses it, to make himself believe that he's not getting attached and overprotective for the child he abducted.

Having these emotions so present got to the point of creating another version of himself based on these feelings, making Negative the one who saves the child when danger is near.

For the blue flowers, doing some research i found these three meanings that kinda match with my interpretation of Negative:

-Mystery and attaining the impossible

-Unattainableness

-New beginnings

As of now, Negative is still a mysterious character from who we don't know much about, so that part fits, and the other two, i personally interpret those represent that RGB thinks that he can never change and become the protector that Hero needs, that he will never be a good person in general, that he can never start again.

The gold on the thorns is tricky tho, i found that it represents succes, achievement and triumph, so it might be like a ''I know you can do this'' type of sign.

The last thing is small, but i still want to mention it, and its the fact that RGB is not conscious of Negative's existence, everytime Hero asks him about Negative he doesn't know what she's talking about. This is quite common on people in real life, who don't even know that they have a disorder or a mental condition until way later in their lives.

As of now- i'll leave it there, apologies if this theory is not as good as the other one, i just wanted to share it and stop bothering my irl friend with it-

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

RGB - she's my beloved fursona!!!!! a single quality is hard to pick... but i'll say her personality is very fun to write because it lets me flip between RGB Is An 8 Foot Tall Furry Thing who loves enrichment (jumping straight into highly dangerous situations for fun and causing trouble on purpose) and RGB is in REAL danger she can't just escape conveniently from and has a far more nervous, cautious side underneath the very intense confidence.......

Gear - my baby boy angel sweet boy i love him i'm grabbing him with my teeth and shaking him around violently. it's kind of the personality again (even though i adore his design and i'm so proud of him as a whole) my favorite thing about him is 100% the fact i somehow combined four decently different favorite characters into one guy, and that makes him INCREDIBLY fun to write.

the bold and daring recklessness + being wildly overpowered from sonic, the knack for inventing and being the little brother from tails, the jadedness and charisma + voice & some other traits from barney calhoun, and also inventing but unhinged about it a bit from The Engineer TF2... he is the guy of all time to me

Source - oh they are just an absolute goddamn blast to write. i think my favorite part about him though is just the tonal dissonance between his personality and his backstory, and similarly to RGB- the change in behavior when things have flipped from danger for fun to real danger. funny mushroom in a fursuit (tragic, miserable, so soggy and sad)

DC - DC's like my least developed dimension cross member and i feel bad about it!!!!! i LOVE their design to pieces.. but i think if i had to choose a trait about them so far- it's the fact they come across as the most anxious and shy member of the D/C crew, but they may be the most unhinged. (y'know. the whole uh. surgically installing their own cyborg enhancements thing.) they care a lot about the crew and ensure they're healthy in a safe manner- i wouldn't QUITE put them in the bracket of being like the Medic TF2, but. concerning. sometimes.

💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?

RGB - Insectophobia, arachnophobia, (but this really only applies to small normal bugs and not big or anthropomorphic ones, amusingly) and mild claustrophobia. She doesn't mind cramming herself into small cozy spaces voluntarily (like a cat) but involuntarily is a different story (hates smaller ships and small rooms)

Gear - Way worse claustrophobia- Some small spaces are OK voluntarily (especially if he's making repairs in the walls of the ship), but he gets nervous in very close quarters. also mildly afraid of deep water (though unlike sonic, he can swim, at least)

Source - Doesn't have any phobias per se- But has a healthy fear of fire, and a general fear of rain. (i wonder why)

DC - this worm can fit so much anxiety...... Extreme phobia of deep water (can't swim) and ironically kind of afraid of like. regular worms. like earth worms. they have so many fears otherwise though <3 and a tendency to faint

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

RGB - The day she met Gear.

Gear - The day he and RGB finally bought the cargo ship they'd been saving for, changing the course of their lives forever.

Source - When an act of kindness cut through the curtain of heavy rain, offering a hand to a lonely creature. Or, uh- that time he ate a bug that RGB was hiding from. Either one.

DC - The day they finished medical school... What, that's boring? (and RGB's isn't?) Okay, okay. The day they completed their thesis- proving that cybernetic limbs could work, and that the nervous system of their species could absolutely be compatible with artificial limbs and the brain would take to it like a charm with little issue. (of course, they immediately were kicked out and not given a medical license, but that's okay, the achievement was way more important. if their species, a bunch of fuzzy worms off the string with arms, couldn't handle the scientific advancement of legs- then that was their loss!)

I’ve recently gotten into the Lego Ninjago fandom and I drew Zane, I’m gonna put the image here but then I’m probably gonna end up rambling a bit under the cut so proceed with caution

so. like i said i've gotten into the ninjago fandom recently, and basically how that happened is like maybe five years ago? or thereabouts when I was but a child my brother was watching it and so i sorta watched it with him in like bits and stuff and then recently he was watching some of the more recent stuff that's come out and i was sorta just there and i watched a bit and i was like "oh this isn't half bad" and then i read a couple fics and looked at some fanart, and then i started shipping polyninja and coming up with headcannons, and then I spent like my whole time that was meant to be like a three day holiday with my family on a three day holiday in bed and i read like most of the polninja fics on ao3 and zane became my blorbo so I read some zangst um and yeah here we are. so yeah I am currently rewatching the show (I'm only up to like episode 4 i only started at like midnight last night) but I drew this.

But about the actual drawing bc you probably care more about that then my random rambling so um yeah:

so if you can't tell my boi is having a panic attack and all those words around him? yeah those are things that he's thinking about himself. yeah the shading isnt great but honestly? hes floating in the middle of a black void glowing with glowing words floating around him so fuck shading lighting doesn't make sense and that's ok

I'm not 100% happy with how I've drawn him but that's just something I'm gonna have to figure out through trial and error and time and shit so w/e

also um I found the glitch effect on procreate and had to stop myself from using it on like p much everything so yeah um his tears are glitching as well btw if you didn't notice

anyways little facts n shit now im thinking about this because @yambda specifically sent me a post related to it (ty btw!!! ur dms are always such a joy thank u for being so enthusiastic about her it means a bunch), but i think spring overheats. kinda easily. sure she has fans—and once she meets the tech shop crew, liquid cooling—but that only goes so far sometimes, so she's much more prone to "passing out", or bricking if you wanna be technical about it. but i'm just thinking charlie, jyoti, and her are hanging out and she just... falls the fuck over. also i don't know if you guys have ever had a pc brick, but it is TERRIFYING. for me, the monitors turned off, it didn't take anymore input, and the fans spun up like crazy. i had to turn it off and back on again to get it to work (if ur wondering, i think there was a setting or something that needed to be adjusted, and also just that shadows in source games can be intensive as FUCK) so imagine being these two, and this easily 250 (idk actually i havent done calculations or spent time looking up estimations) pound robot just collapses into the grass and starts whirring like crazy. i'd start screaming i think after this jo and charlie keep parasols with them, ice packs, just whatever to keep spring cool speaking of keeping cool, since spring doesn't need to breathe, she can just stick her head underwater no problem. she loves it. i think she (later down the line of course) has an aquatic body too so she can swim and have fun, of course to little avail sometimes since she's so physically dense also rgb lights are like piercings to her god i just love writing and thinking about the silly little things it's so fun

Djura's 'pure white' eyes situation

Okay I am pretty sure everyone already noticed this but Djura's eyes are not just very pale shade of blue or grey, they are sheer white color, all 255 on RGB scale. There are four characters in total that have the case of white eyes according to sliders:

One of Djura's eyes is covered by bandages and unlike with Valtr we are never supposed to see his face without headgear item ingame, so we might speculate Djura is missing one eye for whatever reason, but color is still interesting as it might be a hint of start of eye condition, according to Hunter of Despair having glaucoma-like state of one eye and Lonely Old Dear having the same thing on both of them. Not to be confused with 'clouded eyes' look found on Brador, both female Research Hall hunters and Adella after she goes mad! And Arianna after childbirth.

White eyes situation made me remember a certain detrimental effect of blood usage amongst hunters though:

And when hunter uses blood vials to heal, the animation is injecting blood exactly in their right leg! There are many wheel chair ridden old hunters, Djura still has two belts on his right leg and Henryk has pairs of belts on both legs (guess he just be extra careful like this). Considering number of hunters that wear bandaids over their eyes, eyes gotta be the next thing after legs that at times have effect that is... well, reverse of "healing".

Also Edgar and Yamamura wearing glasses might be evidence that blood doesn't heal eyes at least, but probably makes them worse. Plus there is blood drunk hunter's eye. And don't forget:

So yeah. Ludwig might be a coinsidence though, however face being so 'crooked' seems to be not very uncommon, some characters' facedatas also have nose and eyes leaning very asymmetrically.

We are not sure where Djura lost his right eye, might have been weapons production trauma or hunt trauma or armored conflict, however white eyes thing is still here, and is suspicious. Most likely he is going blind ;-; Or at least on his way to have an awful eyesight of an old lady level, and that is with his only eye! I guess it is a good thing he has a friend to continue his beasts defending business in Old Yharnam, then.

Interestingly, four characters with 'pure white' eyes are Djura, Lonely Old Dear and two Church Hunters! There are two Hunters of Despair NPCs and one with white eyes is one in church garb. Healing Church hunters are explainable, they are totally blood freaks in there, but as for Lonely Old Dear?

It is evident that the sedative is a blood based medicine! (Apparently Willem just stopped at that only using it to learn more Eldritch Truth safely, but Laurence decided to use blood itself for evolution.) And Lonely Old Dear stocks a LOT of sedatives, implying she needs/uses that many. Which is another evidence that her claims that foreigners ruined the blood of this town are not fair, but also her eyes might have gotten ruined by excessive usage of "healing" blood rather than by regular old people thing! After all that one eye blind (?) hunter has similar problem.

So what it might be telling us, if we draw any statistics from all 4 NPCs with pure all 255 scales eyes situation, is that Djura might have used up too much blood back when he was a hunter, to the point where detrimental effects are irrevercible. Could be used as a base to think that, as follows, he hunted a lot, and by effect as extra fuel to the AMOUNT of his regrets and motives for redemption. After all, one of Powder Kegs weapons at least, the Boom Hammer, suggests intense hatred for beasts.

TPOH UPDATE THEORY

OH WE ARE SO BACK!!

I wasn't expecting an update this week, and almost missed it since I checked the website too early, but here we are!

Now there is A LOT to unpack in this page, and if you know my theories, then I'm sure you think I'm about to talk about the parallels between The House of Lead and Negative in this dialogue. Which I 100% will, but another time. I want to talk about the Lead House in itself first.

When I first started with my RGB and Negative theory, I said that the House of Paint and House of Lead where supposed to be parallels to RGB and Negative, and I still stand by that.

But as I read recent pages, reread old ones, and was offered different perspectives from other fans, I'm began to think a lot about Lead House and Paint House as their own CHARACTERS, and not just plot points to parallel other characters.

Just listen to this stuff RGB says, this is very interesting characterization! And also incredibly depressing. Lead House's strange and physics-defying architecture being explained by it trying to fill the void left by being split apart, and it's extreme loneliness because of that is a very tragic situation for a literal house to be in.

And when I first read Double Exposure, I was under the impression that either The Butterfly or Negative owned the house, but this is seemingly debunked in this page. And that fact puts the previous pages in a very different context.

RGB outwrite states it here. This House has a personality, toying with RGB and Hero by trapping them, but not actually harming them. It seems to just be excited to be inhabited by people, when it hasn't for so long, and doesn't want them to leave.

Unlike the Paint House, this House can't be owned by anyone, and chooses it's shape based on whatever it wants. And although it seems to take an interest in the conversation Hero and RGB are having (evident by it spawning in the mirror maze when they were talking about Negative) it doesn't seem to be directly controlled by them.

And gosh I love this panel so much! It seems entirely self aware of how it's gone "cuckoo" due to its loneliness, but turns it into a joke. Or maybe its not supposed to be a joke, and the House just doesn't have any other way to communicate, both options are equally sad.

But seeing how much personality Lead House has, it made me realise that Paint House doesn't really share the same traits.

Its design is entirely dependent on person who is controlling it. Although it reflects the inhabitants thoughts, like Click's face in the trains set, Hero's up-high bed, a bunch of plushies spawning in, etc. All these examples all come from the thoughts, wants or memories of Hero when she has the House's key. I wouldn't say it has much of a personality or consciousness at all.

And though this system may be convenient for our protagonists, it is very inconvenient for the House itself. It straight up FALLS APART when Hero isn't paying enough attention to it! And consistently gets more and more abstract when controlled by a distracted 8 year old's mind.

So, Lead House has more individuality, isn't controlled by anyone and therefore doesn't fall apart or abstract. But, because it can't be owned, its gone insane with loneliness and isolation.

Paint House can be owned and wouldn't be considered lonely, but is far too dependent on others and is falling apart because of it.

Both houses are incomplete in their own way, so the obvious solution is for them to be fused back together into the House of Lead Paint!

The House of Lead Paint would be a balance between an individual personality, as well as being influenced by others. And they wouldn't be lonely anymore if they were together, plus once again being a home to someone! I could definitely see Hero and RGB living there, but instead of just outright controlling the House, they are able to ask the House for certain things, (or maybe the House could still read Hero's thoughts, but get to choose if its wants to change or not) and it will be more of a character.

This will obviously take the stress off Hero, since she won't have to be constantly thinking about the House just to stop it from abstracting or worrying about her dreams changing the house, and instead it could take care of itself at times, while still being helpful to our protagonists when they need something.

I think this may be happening sooner rather than later. Specifically because of RGB's "It may be as well for us to stay outside for a while" line, implying that something needs to change before Hero and RGB can go back into the Paint House.

This also seems like a stand in for a 'Tree' to this part of the story. "Big structure with emotional issues that needs to work through its issues in a symbolic way and transform into something else" Hero being the current owner of Paint House, having a track record of wanting to help out Trees, and needing a way to get out of Lead House, it seems perfectly in character for her to want to merge the Houses back together again. And now that the houses are in the same area to eachother (with the folded page being opened) I could 100% see this happening before the end of this arc. Probably as a conclusion to them getting out of the Lead House.

(anddd it could maybe be foreshadowing for RGB and Negative RGB merging back together???) (Fnaf sb ruin eclipse reference???) (tho, if that does happen, it would most likely be at the climax of TPOH)

I can't believe I'm getting so emotionally attached to the character arc of two HOUSES. But I just needed to get this rant out of my system.

So I'll probably talk about the dialogue relating to Negative another time, since this is already very long. Maybe I'll wait till the next update, since I'll undoubtedly have more things to rant on about then. But I hope you enjoyed this, even if it's a bit different from my usual RGB-centric theories.

OOPS ACCIDENTALLY WROTE A FIC OUTLINE

I'm gonna go with Yellow and Red, but keeping their ages and Yellow as the one with powers!

This got... long. Turns out Yellow as Red makes a lot of changes. Gonna just do RGB for now and continue on in another post!

We'll just say Red went straight home after catching Nidorino. He's gonna stay in Pallet Town for the next couple years, battling trainers that come through and impressing the other local kids.

Meanwhile, little nine year old Yellow has made another one of her excursions into the forest, and has wandered farther than usual when she stumbles into the Green vs Mew fight. She's full of questions, but Green hasn't started his character development yet and gets irritated after a bit, but mentions that if she really wants to know more about Pokemon she should see his grandfather in Pallet Town. So she does.

Oak is happy to answer her questions and, seeing how good she is with the lab Pokemon, gives her a Pokedex and suggests she take a look at the local Pokemon (he thinks she's a bit too young to go on a journey yet). She wanders home and her Uncle, after realizing he's not gonna be able to dissuade her from doing it again, gives her Dody for protection and transportation. She and Saur (probably named Bulby/Fushisuke this time) bond, and start wandering further afield in search of Pokemon.

In this time, Green catches Kangaskhan and realizes the baby is sick, his journey into dadhood is kickstarted early.

She catches Pika in Pewter City (Chuey/Pikasuke), who has been wreaking havoc for a few weeks longer than originally. When Green (delayed by the Kangaskhan thing) scolds her about being unable to train it, she again asks him for help. He's reluctant, but at some point Yellow notices the Kangaskan and is super worried about it. She keeps visiting and eventually Green slowly starts giving her tips on training her Pokemon. Sometime during training, Saur evolves and Green tells Yellow about the cancel button for evolutions. During this time, the first hint of Yellow's powers show, as once when she's taking care of the baby in an emergency while Green goes to the PokeMart for more medicine because of the PokeCenter vandalism, she tries to comfort it and it ends up fully healed by the time he gets back. Green gives Kagaskhan to Yellow (Kangy and Khankhan/Garuko and Garugaru, maybe?).

Yellow's delay means that she misses the Misty vs Gyarados fight seen in the original. Gyarados has caused much more destruction by the time Yellow comes across it, and Misty is pretty roughed up by then. Yellow's powers start to kick in again and she feels Gyarados' pain. With the skills she honed with Green and her defensive battle style, she manages to calm Gyarados down and return him to Misty. They make their way through Mt. Moon with little trouble, though it's a bit rubbly, since Team Rocket already came through and got the Moon Stone. Yellow does not stay in Cerulean City, putting the timeline back on track.

Bill and Lt. Surge aren't changed much, Yellow does not participate in the cycle race because she has Dody. Dody's whirlwind is used to blow away the Ghastly in the tower.

Yellow doesn't have any badges, so Blue just takes her money and runs. She would absolutely steal from a nine year old and don't tell me she wouldn't. Yellow does not dress up as a Team Rocket grunt, but has Pika sneak in and spy for her, trying out her powers again to get a bit of info from him, which is where she learns about Mewtwo. Because she never entered, Blaine does not leave Team Rocket at this time. She follows Team Rocket when they go after Blue and does leap in to try and rescue her when they corner her, leading to the vs Jynx fight and Mew's interference.

The Pokemon swap with Green occurs more or less the same, except that Yellow does not try to capture Ninetales. The Eevee (Veevy/Isuke) incident is about the same, Yellow gets her first badge from Erika. Yellow does not get lost in the Safari Zone; meeting Giovanni in the caves is more or less the same, just with her own tactics vs the Magmar rather than Red's. Yellow doesn't have a huge Pokemon like Snorlax for the Dragonite fight, so she and Pika make up the Substitute-Surf technique to escape, she didn't watch Green surfing, so there's more of a learning curve. Yellow does not get Gyara from Misty.

Because she doesn't have Gyara, Yellow is not delayed from saving Articuno. However, Blaine has not left Team Rocket yet, so when she gets to Cinnabar Island she ends up fighting him and Moltres. Her determination and kindness kindles his doubts.

The sealing of Saffron City and Pallet Town's mass kidnapping is about the same, but when Green arrives at the lab, because he doesn't have the same rivalry with Yellow as he did with Red, they cooperate much better.

Vs Surge and Zapdos is about the same. Vs Koga is the same up until he would've summoned Articuno, which instead flies in dramatically to help Yellow at the last minute. Blue vs Sabrina is unchanged. Because Yellow never got the Boulder, Cascade, or Volcano badges, the bird fusion cannot happen. However, Sabrina is able to instead summon the completed Mewtwo. Because Yellow does not have the Moon Stone, Blue's Clefairy does not evolve at this time. Blue instead takes the amplifier, and she, Green, and Yellow team up to take down Mewtwo, Yellow finally allows Dody and Saur to finish evolving for this. Silph Co. collapses from the battle damage and Green's setting it on fire. Mewtwo escapes in the chaos.

Yellow chases after Mewtwo and comes across Blaine, who has finally defected from Team Rocket and manages to calm it. It agrees to go with Blaine as its family of sorts.

Red has decided to leave Pallet Town and try his hand at the championship, but is attacked by the experimental Pokemon of Viridian Forest and is rescued by Yellow, who is very concerned, given her connection to the place. Red decides to fight the Gym Leader, since he's in town, but Yellow tells him the Gym Leader hasn't been around in a long time. Red decides to check it out and Yellow follows him. Red is thoroughly crushed by Giovanni, having only Poli and his Nidorino (Nido), so Yellow steps up to fight him. She eventually succeeds in defeating him, and when they both recover, Red vows to train and go on a journey once he's more prepared, so he can catch up with Yellow in terms of strength.

Yellow has no interest in participating in the championship tournament, but goes to watch Green. Blue vs Oak is the same. Green defeats his opponent and becomes Champion, but is somewhat dissatisfied by its ease. He and Yellow have a friendly match after, which ends in a tie. End arc.

Yellow's final team for this arc: Pika (named Chuey), Dody, Saur (named Bulby), Kangaskhan (named Kangy and Khankhan), and Vee (named Veevy).

Misc. thoughts I've had about this au:

First thing you've gotta know is that the main four end up in a poly relationship. It's a slowburn kinda thing just like the canon IY relationships

Peter has Inuyasha's doglike mannerisms, but he's actually half cat demon rather than dog. It's implied that his father might have just been demon Garfield

Unlike Kagome, Ray is super into his family's ancestral shrine and all the legends around it. He goes to the well on purpose to investigate and is really excited when the centipede demon grabs him

Egon is just as reckless with his wind tunnel as Miroku, if not more so--he can't resist running experiments on it, even though those experiments could easily turn deadly. He's actually kinda disappointed when the curse is finally broken because he'd hoped to study it more

Sango's backstory is slightly toned down for Winston; his fellow demonslayers are more analogous to war buddies than, like, everyone he's ever known and loved. He also doesn't buy it when he's told the guys are responsible, and rather than initially trying to kill them he decides to join them as soon as he's healed up enough

Janine is in sort of a Kaede-esque role, but since she's much younger and more spry she's able to be a bit more proactive. She's got a bit of that post-Q5 RGB "nurturing" thing going on (because the narrative kinda requires a healer character) but still with her actual personality, so she talks back to the guys while she's patching them up after a battle

Obviously Slimer isn't a fox demon like Shippo; I couldn't find a specific type of yokai that really fit him so he's probably just a random imp-type thing. He didn't get orphaned or anything the way Shippo was, but some bigger badder demons stole his territory, which is why he ends up traveling with the guys

The Ecto-1 is some kind of enchanted carriage that they fly around in the way the inugang ride around on Kirara. It probably isn't sentient but who knows?

Since Gozer isn't motivated by lust or revenge like Onigumo was, their plan is a bit simpler than Naraku's; they need the Shikon jewel to trigger the apocalypse, so they have Zuul possess the village priestess, Dana, so she can bring them the jewel. Peter tries to come to the rescue, but of course he doesn't have his teammates yet and can't do it on his own. He manages to get the jewel away and burn it, but gets sealed to a tree for 50 years for his troubles

Mainly because I can't think of anyone else who'd remotely fit, Walter Peck is in a Sesshomaru-adjacent role even though his motivations are completely different. He wants to steal the Tetsusaiga not so he can use it himself, but because he doesn't trust Peter & co. with a weapon of that magnitude

Unlike the source material where the well only works for Inuyasha and Kagome, all four Ghostbusters as well as Janine and Slimer are able to travel through the well; Ray takes great pleasure in introducing the gang to his aunt. They all end up spending a fair bit of time in the present and really like it there, and at the end of the narrative that's the time period they end up staying in

There's also no reincarnation stuff going on here (the jewel just reappears at random and it's pure luck that they get to it first) but while they're in the modern era Ray builds a device that can track down jewel shards. Similarly, Egon imbues his monk staff with spiritual power so it can scan for demonic energy

Rather than a family member like it was for Sango, it's Winston's girlfriend Tiyah (y'know from the idw comics) who gets brainwashed. When she's finally freed and gets her memories back, she and Winston try dating again for a bit, but things have changed too much and she can tell he's kinda fallen for his teammates, so they have an amicable but still melancholy breakup

A similar thing ends up happening with Peter and Dana. After Gozer failed to get the Shikon jewel the first time, she was freed from possession and got to live out the rest of her life fairly peacefully, so she doesn't resent Peter upon resurrection like Kikyo did Inuyasha. But he's still got survivor's guilt on his end, because from his perspective he still failed to protect her. Dana kinda has to spell it out that she doesn't intend to drag him down to hell with her and that she has in fact moved on

Because of the aforementioned lack of reincarnation stuff, the final climax is also different; all four Ghostbusters get trapped in the Shikon jewel, all within different illusory worlds without the others in them, which they each break out of by remembering each other's existence and wanting to see each other. But it's Janine who actually manages to get them out of there and permanently destroy the jewel

When Peter's demon blood takes over, his appearance shifts to somewhere between how he looked the time he got possessed in RGB and when he got possessed in the comics. On the night of the new moon he turns into regular Bill Murray (haha just kidding.... unless?)

Which female dex holder do you think was treated the best writing-wise?

Hmm... Treated the best writing-wise... So then character development, personality depth, history, capability, interactions, personal journey... okay. Let's see...

Well, the short answer is Blue, without a doubt. The reasons being...

Blue: She definitely has one of the most character development and personality depth, to the point where most kids portray her wrong. Definitely has the most eventful history that affected her the most, she's also the most capable among the girls, and her canon interactions with others differ drastically from person to person (to Red, to Silver, to Prof. Oak, to allies, to strangers, to enemies). She also has the most meaningful personal journey that she finished, which was to overcome her past and trauma. But it's also not really fair for the other girls, since Blue has appeared in 6 arcs, as opposed to 1 or 2 for everyone else. So she had the most time to be fleshed out and developed. Like... her history was glimpsed at in RGB and Y, but was fully explored in GSC, and fully overcome in FRLG. She certainly had character development in RGB but was most notable in later appearances. And her interaction depth is fully noticeable in FRLG. So she had many arcs to flesh things out, compared to, say... Platinum, who appears in one arc (Pt is hardly a separate arc from DP).

Yellow: She has as many sides to her character and has as much personality depth as a moebius strip. Her bullsh*t powers actively hinder the plot, doesn't have any history to speak of, and her interactions can be categorized simply as "to Red" or "to anyone else".

Crystal: She doesn't really have any development. She's the same before GSC and after HGSS. Well, maybe a bit of increased determination and understanding. She also doesn't really have any depth or meaningful history either. No personal journey either. She's not really capable of much on her own... She does have varied interactions (to seniors, to Gold, to Silver, to Emerald, to juniors, to everyone else) but overall... pretty bad.

Sapphire: She certainly has a TON of character development, plenty of history, and very capable. She also has the most explicitly stated personal journey (to keep her promise to the long forgotten childhood friend involved in her trauma), even though a lot of kids misinterpret it, to the point where her title is mistranslated as well. But... she doesn't really have character depth. Her whole life pretty much revolves around Ruby. The one trait she has that's irrelevant to Ruby is her loyalty to Hoenn. And her interactions are very limited. It's basically how she acts around Ruby, and how she acts around everyone else.

Platinum: A LOT of development! And a notable personal journey (to experience the outside world), which unfortunately cannot be completed since there's no clear end point. ... And also unfortunately, I don't think she has a lot of character depth. She's pretty straight forward. Other kids mostly portray her wrong because they don't know how to be formal and polite. She doesn't have history (there's an unexplored glimpse), she could be much more capable if she was allowed to, and she could have the most varied interactions, given her personality, but doesn't have that opportunity in the canon (no seniors, no juniors, no Moon, no preferred senior, no preferred juniors, etc). So... Platinum requires additional arcs and time to be fully fleshed out.

White: She has definitely noticeable character development. Depth... not so much. Capability... most of that was off screen. A very brief personal journey (to experience Pokemon battles, instead of focusing only on entertainment). She doesn't have meaningful history that affected her, and her interactions are mostly uniform. So... kind of bland?

Faitsu: Hahaha.

Y: No character development. She certainly has character depth, which admittedly I never really explored. She doesn't have personal goals in the arc, since... well, it didn't start optimally for that. If you wake up in the middle of an earthquake, you don't have aspirations or resolutions for that day other than surviving. She does have a significant history moment that affected her personality greatly though. And she's most certainly capable. But she also doesn't have a big variety in interactions (to X, to other friends, to everyone else).

Moon: ... If you removed her from SM/USM arc... does that change anything? What a travesty.

Shield: Things remain to be seen. So far, no development, some depth, no personal goals (her objective to get her Pokemon back does not affect her personality or character), no history yet, definitely capable in a variety of ways (which is very nice), but has no interaction variety at all.

So all in all, Blue is the best written. Platinum has the potential to be the second best written, but it requires a lot of stuff to happen. She's kind of like Blue in RGB. Lots of potential, needs time. And since that never happened, Sapphire takes the second place though her post ORAS character is... bland. Y probably takes the third spot, and then Platinum fourth.

But once again, Blue had plenty of time to be written out. So factoring the length of appearance, I would say that Y was the best one. ... So I guess I should really explore her character depth at some point...

Amy Blackwell Inspired Work

Amy Blackwell is another illustrator who's work I find intriguing and enjoy because of her focus on drawing powerful and inspirational women, even illustrating a children book.

The way her style allows for such freedom to change around and allow for imperfections in the human body and how she uses that to her advantage to create the smooth and curved lines throughout her work. I like how she elongated limbs and the neck and nothing was quite right but it works in her style to not be a way to show body horror but her style in illustration. I think I like her style and illustration so much because again is allows for these imperfections, it doesn't have to be perfect human body and she commits to that.

In hindsight I am actually most found of the original iteration of this design in sketch form just because I thinks it looks much better and captures what I was going for much better than my final outcome.

I went into clip studio again and played around with a a few different medium brushes bt found again that the smooth ink brush just works best for me and illustration work. The brush is able to create the smooth flowing bold lines is just exactly what I'm after for my work and I can't complain.

Although I was still taking inspiration from Blackwell I really did want my own style to be more prominent than Blackwell's, so of course there were the big bold lines and the long flowing lines.

Colour wise I decided not to to make it too complex but again I had the same issue were I converted the outcome to CMYK after I was done with it, which resulted in a much duller outcome overall and lack of vibrance the RGB version had.

My mine issue with the finished version and something I don't know why I didn't change at the time was the facial features being fair too bold and pronounced, I really should of been using a finer brush for them. It's a shame I didn't change it because I really think it was main and only thing that throws the illustration off balance.

I knew for the shirt I wanted to have some sort of pattern going on that you see on some of Blackwell's designs when she illustrates women. I decided to have the background and the shirt be a part of the same layer to feel like she was connected to the illustration and the background wasn't just placed there, I wanted the loose and care free lines ti make a perspective warping that I love.

The final touch I almost forgot was the blushed cheeks which is a signature part of Blackwell illustrations of women and whilst she uses the shape of either an eclipse or oval for the blush I decided to work it in differently. I wanted the blush to feel slight more exercised into my illustration so I used a spray can brush

Although I'm happy with the outcome I'm not pleased with it completely because although it manages to select aspects and shows where Blackwell inspired me and as I've mentioned I feel there are some flaws in how I've approached and continued with the illustration. However I can learn from my mistakes and take it all as experience when I next continue to further experiment with my illustration style and using others as inspiration.
