ToH's reaction to Martin's Scorsese timeless masterpiece Goncharov(1973)
Hooty (in tears): A-AND THEN HE SAID "IF YOU REALLY WE'RE IN LOVE YOU WOULDN'T HAVE MISSED", AND THAT WAS THE LAST TIME THEY SPOKE TO EACHOTHER AAGAHAGAT_T
Lilly: oh, my little dear Hootsifer, it's just a movie, it's gonna be fine-
(they hug and HootHoot cries untill Lilith gets sunken in his waterfall of tears, embracing a forever warm hug between them)
Gus: (with awing sparks in his eyes) aww man, i will never look at clocks the same way ever again>o<
Hunter: man, Mario really is just like me fr-
Willow (friendly pokes him): oh yes, the unbreakable duo, even harder to break than boat in a Katya scene - Hunter and his little sad boys:3
Hunter (drowning in blushes): DON'T CALL ME A SADBOYWAWAWAA-
Willow: okayyy, scrunklo^^
Hunter: (dies inside)
(Luz and Amity laugh on the couchfaifsif)
(while Willow continues to magnificently tease Hunter, Eda discusses the true sigma women that is Katya with King-)
Eda: ohhh King, that movie broke me-
(drinks apple juice)
Katya's girlbossery reminded me so much of my younger years, when i didn't have the owl house, i wasn't married to Raine, i didn't have you... I was so lost.
I feel like that merciful day i found you laying defenseless on the island... That was the day *you* found me-
King: oh, Eda, it's fine, now you've got us, you don't have to belong to any coven no more, you're not bound by time like Katya!
(inhales):
You may have been a lost girlboss, but now you're a found slaya-mommy-versacci-charlixcx-gwurl, and i doubt that's ever gonna change
Raine: guys, that movie was so beautiful, let's cry together-
(King and Eda nod, crawl up into a pile of found-family- misery and suffer *together*)
Luz: that movie was so beautiful amor:> let's write flufft Gonchandrey fics together, where Ice Pick Joe survives, Goncharov and Andrey runaway from the seemingly never-ending cycle of violence, to live a peaceful domestic life on the vain of mother's nature Bieszczady<3
Amity: (with a face swelled with a redder shade than Sofia's cocktail dress in *that one scene*) YEAH OF COURSE, CRUMBLE CARROT
Luz:AHAAGAHAH CRUMBLECARROT, CRICKETSSS, I LOVE YOU SWEET POTATO:D
Amity: I love you too, Shwibblegum-
Luz: okay, that was weird-
Amity: yeah, it was-
Luz: It's fine, Broccolisprinkle
Amity: ohhhh no, Leafygwabble, reminding me of the hair was too much
Luz: Oh? I'm sorry, my lovely honey-cornflake-buttet-morning-toast in Rome7w7
(the name banter didn't stop, until they both fall asleep in eachother arms<3)

The super detailed eyebrow guide Part 1
Hello everyone, this will be my first post on this blog. Let’s cut to the chase, the first thing we will be talking about is eyebrow styling. There is no one “ideal” eyebrow shape that suits everyone and likely you suit a couple of eyebrow styles yourself. There is no absolute “wrong” answer when it comes to eyebrows, it greatly depends on what kind of vibe you desire to give off: cute, professional, sexy, mature, innocent, anything goes. These will just be some tips that might help you to figure out what works for you, just remember that it is very difficult to make an absolutely accurate guess without seeing your full face, this is ideally a self-help resource.
First of all, you will often see the basic styling guide that goes something like this:
Tumblr media
However, I found that this wasn’t absolutely helpful to me. What about thickness? The height of the brow? How arched should I go? Some girls look amazing with perfectly straight brows, right? Is this the only arch that looks good? It’s hard to find info on all of this so let me start:
The thickness of the brows
Think of it this way: The eyebrows are supposed to accentuate what is already there or balance it, as such it is important to follow the lines of the face to create appropriate harmony. Faces are complicated and you may even suit a different type of eyebrows when you have more weight on you, I know I do. Along with that, when it comes to eyebrows, the eyes are the most important determinant, but not the ONLY determinant. Some faces need more softness/sharpness so you add the appropriate eyebrows, at other times, you want to play exactly into the type of features that you have.
Would you say your facial features are more elongated, narrow and have a certain lightness? None of your features stand out, rather they all work together, no facial feature is too large. Then go for a thinner brow. Think of celebrities like Taylor Swift
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or Charlize Theron
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heather Morris
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hyuna ( kpop idols rarely rock completely thin eyebrows, but you can see that among them she has a thinner variant)
Tumblr media
Another point to present is the “chubbiness” vs “dryness” of your face. The more “dry” your face is, meaning the less facial fat and roundness you have, the more likely thin brows suit you. Let’s look at Halle Berry - the thinner her face became, the more she suited thin brows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the midpoint:
Tumblr media
One thing to notice is that her eyebrows were never TOO thick - her balanced features would simply never allow for it. Look at someone like Charlize with thick eyebrows, it just didn’t suit her. Her features are simply too delicate for that.
Tumblr media
Are your features larger, heavier, more "in your face" - especially the eyes? Consider a much thicker brow like the following ladies. The brows need to follow the lines of your face, if your eyes are very “strong”, they deserve an appropriate assistant! Lucy Hale
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sofia Vergara
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sofia Loren
Tumblr media
Lilly Collins
Tumblr media
Aisha
Tumblr media
Look how much better Beyonce looks with thicker brows, these eyebrows are not that thin to begin with, now imagine how much less flattering thinner eyebrows would be for her face:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The same can be said about Lykke Li, her face is much more balanced when she sports thicker brows due to her beautiful heavy features.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice that many of these women have either rounder or wide cheeks, even if their faces may not hold onto more flesh, that’s the bone structure. That is a trait that suits thicker brows, on the other hand, the ladies in the “thin eyebrows” category often have slightly narrower lines and sharper bones. The thin eyebrows soften them up.
However, there are some exceptions to this. If all of your features a very large or maybe even your forehead is smaller than you’d prefer, you may go the complete opposite route and take thin brows.
A youtube Anncy is a beautiful example of someone who made the right call going for thin brows instead of thick ones. Larger brows would wear down her face and perhaps take more space away from the rest of her features. When you have large features, sometimes it is difficult to juggle proportions: adding large eyebrows can take away either from eyebrow height or forehead length so if you recognize yourself in this, consider going for thinner brows even though your features are large. The only image of thick brows on her I could find offhand is this  but I felt it would be unfair to put them with the other ones, as I feel the lightning and angle isn’t equal or as flattering, but hopefully you get the point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another example of this is Angelina Jolie. She goes for much thinner eyebrows than you’d expect from someone with features as large as those.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Big eyebrows would simply be too much competition for the rest of her face:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, many people don’t fit any type perfectly and that’s also perfectly fine. Most are in the hybrid category, so they have to pay attention to various features.
Kerry Washington is one such example. Her features are larger, yet her eyes are very delicate. Her face is narrow, but there is much fleshiness to it. She goes for a brow that isn’t too thick or too thin. They’re narrow to follow the longer line of the face, yet not too thin to harmonize with the roundness of her features, cheeks and chin.
Tumblr media
Megan Fox has fairly small features and yet she looks better with thicker brows? Why? Because her face possesses a certain sharpness, particularly in her features, that needs thick eyebrows to balance them out. This also has to do with her coloring and contrast, but that will be its own category in a following post.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, while it may seem like blondes suit thinner brows and brunettes thicker ones, that may not exactly be it. I put the example of Lykke Li who shows that a blonde can perfectly rock thick eyebrows, and Hyuna and Halle, as an example that brunettes can also look beautiful with thin ones. I’ll go more in depth about this in the Coloring section.
Arched vs Straight eyebrows
The arch of the brow depends on your overall features and the style you want to convey. A longer midface may suit straighter, longer eyebrows to add width to the face. Straight eyebrows also make you look younger and more cute. They can also help the forehead look wider. An example of this is Yoona, this girl has a longer midface and the brows add a vertical line that breaks apart the length of the midface. The straight brows also suit her cute and youthful appeal.
Tumblr media
Mina from Twice is another good example of this. The straight brows add balance to the length of the face.
Tumblr media
I would suggest straighter brows to people who’d prefer a cuter look usually, however many sexpots, so to speak, go for this look to balance out their features. Look how much width these straight brows, that extend far out, allow Jessica Alba’s longer face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Straight eyebrows, depending on how dark they are, can also add drama and make the face seem more symmetrical and lifted, especially if the ends of the brows point up - that’s why they’re popular with models. Notice how symmetrical and compact, or even wide, a lot of these faces appear due to this effect. Additionally, these faces appear more dominant or modelesque and may even photograph better, which is why you may want to try them out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s look at Nyane, her straight brows with a slight elevation towards the end point out the beautiful symmetry and sharpness of her face. When they are arched, there is too much sharpness. Even if they were shaped differently, the elevated arch would take away from a more balanced look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the other hand, for the e-girl or cute girl look, the straight eyebrows don’t point up, rather, they point down. Look at the classic e-girl Belle Delphine for that. For the cute girl look, choose either an end that points neutrally or down. Beware that an eyebrow that point down may make your face appear less lifted, but many faces can handle it pretty well. It’s all subjective and not everyone wants the lifted look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for arched brows, they definitely bring up the sex appeal and make your eyes appear lifted. This is great if you want to go for enhanced sex appeal or have a negative canthal tilt (downturned eyes) that you’d like to change. Arched eyebrows are a classic and they add that “wow” factor to the face, in addition to that, it’s also a great choice for those who have a baby face and want to stray away from that. It’s great to add that arched eyebrows can break up a wide face and add “length”, it can also shrink the forehead and make the eyes appear larger, but that will be further covered in the placement section.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gigi Hadid has beautiful eyebrows that make her eyes appear huge due to the high arch point. The eyebrows are her best feature and certainly add something to her look. Pay attention to how babylike her face would look without those eyebrows, if you’d cover them, her face would seem so much softer. The arched brows are exactly what make her face model like. It’s that extra something.
Aishwarya Rai is famous for her sex appeal and beauty and her eyebrows play up that aspect - she often lifts up one or both brows in photos to get an even more pronounced arch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When her eyebrows are straighter, she loses some of that seductiveness.
Tumblr media
Anne Hathaway has beautiful downturned eyes, however, in case one would like to “lift” the area up, so to speak, they could try out this type of style. The arch of the brow is exactly above where her eye ends and goes down, making for beautiful harmony.
Tumblr media
Eyebrows can also be more sharply arched or have a more rounded arch. A sharper arch can add more dimension to the face, as well as sex appeal, while the rounded one can accentuate femininity (look Gigi and A,R, or someone like Sofia Vergara). Marylin Monroe, in tune with old Hollywood beauties, sported a sharper arch often, as did Olivia Wilde, to suit her sharp features.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naomi, is also an example of beautiful arched eyebrows, that mix up both the rounded and sharp aspect by going to no extreme. This can suit you really well if you have a mix of sharp and round features like she does (high cheekbones, elongated face + full lips, rounded cheeks etc.)
Tumblr media
If you can’t decide which eyebrow to go for, consider the mix of the two: where the eyebrows bottom line is more straight and the top of it is arched. It is often seen on women with cat eyes that want to add softness but also show off that allure. Notice how the bottom of Barbara’s eyebrow here is straight and the top is arched - this is also great if you have difficulty with shaping your brows as it is forgiving for filling in + it looks very natural.
Tumblr media
All of this said, it is up to you if you want to add sharpness or softness to your face - there is no right call and a lot of it has to do with what your style and taste is. Many of these women have tried out all types of arches and found that each look “sold” something, a particular essence. It is up to you to choose what you like, however, I hope this guide helped you in discovering which eyebrows suit what style.
I wish to also address more finely tuned details of the eyebrow such as:
-Eyebrow placement (Low and High placed)
-The placement of the arch and its effects on the look you are portraying
-Having eyebrows compliment individual features (close set eyes, wide set eyes, broad noses etc)
-Coloring of the eyebrows
and perhaps some more. Stay tuned!

Movies I watched in January 2021.
(only includes movies I watched for the first time)
 A stranger outside (directed by Jake Helgren) – 2018 (12) 2½ stars.
This film is a who is it/who did it movie about a girl named Daphne (played by Brittney Underwood) who is babysitting a young boy called Toby (played by Jet Jurgensmeyer) whose parents are out of town.
I gave it a low rating since I found it very dumb and the acting is not good, a hard movie to take seriously, the characters are also very stupid, and it is an overall very predictable movie.
But saying that, I would still recommend if you want to watch a movie you can make fun of and like seeing family bonds being made (between the babysitter and the boy). It is also a good movie if you want to get into horrors/thrillers or get someone else into them.
*spoilers*
The main reasons I found this a dumb movie is how obvious it was that the maid was the killer, like, what maid only cleans the kitchen and does it in less than 5 minutes? She was also an overall bad killer and felt like a very lazy try.
Also, the girls reaction to everything, I don’t understand why they didn’t lock all the doors and how Daphne walked through the door that she put the windchime, a very dumb move. Also, Daphne’s friends when being killed, I could not wait for the scene to be over, she wasn’t doing a particularly good job at trying to escape.
*spoilers done*
Uncle frank (directed by Alan Ball)– 2020 (15) 5 stars.
This film is about an 18-year-old named Beth (played by Sofia Lillis) who travels back from Manhattan to her hometown Creek Ville, South Carolina, with her uncle Frank (played by Paul Bettany) for a funeral and end up being joined by his boyfriend (Played by Peter Macdissi).
I gave this film such a high rating because of how real this movie feels and how the acting feels so pure and you can tell that they put effort into this. I also just really love family connections in movies. It is just such a beautiful movie, made me cry so much. This film also really highlights how much Frank is terrified of his parents fining out he is gay.
I just highly recommend this movie. Anything I say will not do this film justice.
*spoilers*
The main scenes that really stuck out to me where: 1) The flash back scenes between young Frank and past lover Sam. Mainly the scene where his dad (played by Stephen Root) catches them together one night. And he didn’t the relationship his son had with the other boy, which sends Frank into a panic. This scene also shows the type of man his dad was and how that impacted Frank.
2) The will reading where Frank is outed. This scene really pinpoints how much hatred Franks dad had towards him. In this scene you can also see the sheer panic he has and doesn’t want to stick around and find out what is family will say.
*spoilers done*
Deadly detention (directed by Blair Hayes) – 2017 (15) 1 star.
This film is about 5 high school students; the ‘hot girl’ Lexi (played by Alex Frnka), ‘hot boy’ Barrett (played by Henry Zaga), the ‘sporty female jock’ Jessica (played by Sarah Davenport), ‘the skateboarder’ Taylor (played by Jenifer Robyn Jacobs) and the ‘presumed gay, Christian’ with his bejewelled bible named Kevin (played by Coy Stewart), who all have Saturday detention. Their detention takes place in a now closed prison with someone trying to kill them.
I gave the film such a low rating since its just bad. The script is awful, the characters are written so poorly, I can’t believe this movie was able to be realised, it is also very predictable, you are able to tell who the killer is within the first 10 minutes.
This movie gave me the vibe of a poorly rewrite of ‘the breakfast club’ if it was a horror in prison. But if you want something you can watch to laugh at and not take seriously then you could watch this.
*spoilers*
The main things that really annoyed me with this film are not that the killer was obviously the cop but that:
1)    Barrett never stops smiling! Someone is trying to kill him, and he doesn’t even care.
2)    Taylor and her skateboard, she can’t even ride properly, she should have left it, it’s not important.
3)    Keven and his light up shoes, and how he had to make sure they were on the same colour, he should leave them alone and hide.
4)    And just the fact that Barrett and Lexi care more about hooking up than trying to escape a killer, especially when Berrett is already dating Jessica.
*spoilers done*
Deadpool (directed by Tim Miller) – 2016 (15) 4 stars.
This film is about a man named Wade Wilson (played by Ryan Reynolds), who wants to get revenge on a man named ajax/Francis (played by Ed Skrein) for experimenting on him to cure Wades cancer and to give him healing abilities, but it ends up leaving him disfigured.
I gave this movie a high rating because of how it managed to include multiple genres at once; for example, this film included, action, a little gore, comedy, raunchy and romance. Also, the uses of breaking the fourth wall, I think was done particularly well.
Other things I like about this film is that he does not call himself a hero, because he does not want to be and at the end of the day, he isn’t one, but he’s also not a villain.
*spoilers*
An example of this is right near the end when Colossus is giving that classic ‘you can be a hero’ hero speech, Deadpool shoots Ajax. Because killing him was what the main plot of the film was.
*spoilers done*
Soul (directed by Pete Doctor) – 2020 (PG) 3½ stars.
This film is about the journey of jazz piano player/middle school teacher, Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx), who experiences a near death experience that gets him trapped in the afterlife, trying to reunite his soul and body, who is landed the responsibility to be the mentor to the soul, 22 (voiced by Tina Fey), who needs to find her spark to be sent to earth.
I gave this movie a middle rating because I like what it portrays – where your dreams come from, where your interests come from, also that for some, it can take a lot longer than others to figure out what they are. However, I feel like this film feel flat the longer it went on, it also feels like the people working on this got bored at the end and did not care anymore. Could as well be due to do with the fact that there were a couple things I thought would happen and make more sense but did not happen.
But its still, at the end of the day a cute, funny, family movie and great for kids to learn that they should do what they love and its okay if they take longer than others to figure out what they love to do.
*spoilers*
Examples of what I thought would happen/hoped would happen that would have made sense to be in the film are:
1)    I was expecting that Joe was going to realise that he liked being a teacher. The flash backs really set up that was going to happen but then I just did not.
2)    I was hoping that we would get a time skip to a few years later and joe and the person that 22 went into would meet. I was expecting that the happen from the beginning.
*spoilers done*
Adventures in babysitting/A night in the town (directed by Chris Columbus) – 1987 (12 or pg. if you watch the Disney + cut) 4 stars.
This film is about 17-year-old Chris Parker (played by Elisabeth Shue) who is babysitting 8-year-old Sara Anderson (played by Maia Brewton) and her 15-year-old brother, Brad (Played by Keith Coogan), but ends up in a night full of adventures, along with Brad’s friend, Daryl (played by Anthony Rapp), due to Chris needing to pick up her friend, Brenda (played by Penelope Ann Miller).
I gave this movie a high rating because I think it’s a nice funny, sweet movie. I has great family like bonds between them all, which I love to see, and it makes you feel good watching it.
What I liked in this film was that it felt like it wasn’t trying to be realistic and because of that anything so unrealistic that happens feels normal.
I do highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes comedic adventurous films.
*spoilers*
One thing I liked that I found funny was how the gang was trying to capture the kids and Chris all because of the Playboy.
I also really love the scene when we find out Chris’s boyfriend, mike (played by Bradley Whitford), was cheating and after Brads speech about Chris then says he isn’t going to hurt mike because he is a bigger person, Daryl kicks mike. I think the main reason I loved this scene was because it really shows how different each character is from each other, but they still have a great friendship.
One thing that did annoy me about this film was Chris and Dan together at the end. It would have been okay for me, but she broke up with her boyfriend that night. Also, we don’t know how old Dan is, all we know is he is in collage and Chris is 17 in high school.
*spoilers done*
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S (directed by Paul Hoen) – 2018 (pg.) 4½ stars.
This film is about a zombie named Zed (played by Milo Manheim) and a human cheerleader named Addison (played by Meg Donnelly) who become close very quickly and need to hide that due to the fact that humans still believe that zombies are evil monsters.
I gave this film a high rating due to the how this movie made me feel, it quickly became a comfort movie for me, if you watch it you will understand where I’m coming from.
I also want to point out that yes, this is a very cheesy movie but its Disney channel, what else do you expect?
And despite it being the classic Disney channel cheese it is, I would like to pinpoint that it covers issues I think kids should learn about, for example; discrimination, not to pay attention to stereotypes and rumours also not to bully someone and just because they may be ‘different’
Highly recommend to all kids and anyone older if they love cheesy films.
*spoilers*
I have seen that some people don’t like the fact that Addison compared her hair would get her treated the same way Zed gets does, and I can see where they come from but to me, I interpret Addison’s hair and wig as real things people can hide about themselves, so they don’t get treated badly and zombies as something that people can’t hide about themselves.
*spoilers done*
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2 (directed by Paul Hoen) – 2020 (pg.) 2 ½ stars
This film is about werewolves coming to Seabrook/Zombietown due to their charms running out of their powers, needing to find the moon stone with help from a whitehaired teenager.
I gave this movie a low rating mainly due to how much it disappointed me. I expected much more, especially because of how the first one was amazing. This film felt very fast paced and felt like they didn’t put as much effort into it.
But saying that I do recommend watching, it’s still a fun time watching.
*spoilers*
Examples of what annoyed me in this movie was;
1.     How the zombies as well as the humans automatically assumed the werewolves where evil. You would have thought that the zombies would be more understanding since humans thought that about them before and that humans wouldn’t have jumped to that conclusion as they were wrong about zombies.
2.     The ban on all monsters when the zombies didn’t do anything wrong.
3.     How bucky went back to hating zombies. I don’t understand why because at the end of the first movie he realised zombies aren’t bad.
4.     Eliza should have ran for school resident! Mainly due to her having such strong views I feel like she would have taken it very seriously.
*spoilers done*
Official secrets (directed by Gavin Hood) – 2019 (15) 3¾ stars
This film is about the true events of Katherine Gun (played by Kira Knightly), who is a British intelligence specialist and leaked secret information about an illegal NSA spy operation made to urge the UN security council to give approval for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, to the press hoping to avoid this from happening.
I gave this movie this rating due to how it keeps you engaged in what is happening, despite it being a sort of slow burn. Also, from what I heard it stayed true the real events (I’m 17 so I wasn’t old enough to remember it myself) and I like how it used the actual news footage.
This movie is also easy to follow and to know what’s happening.
I highly recommend this film if you love learning about true events/find them interesting.
The green mile (directed by Frank Darabont) – 1999 (18) 5 stars
This film is about Paul Edgecomb (played by Tom Hanks and Dabbs Greer), the commanding officer of the death row cellblock at Cold Mountain Penitentiary in Louisiana, who meets inmate, John Coffey (played by Michael Clarke Duncan), who has been accused of murdering two young girls. Paul’s life isn’t the same when he discovers John’s special gifts.
I gave this movie such a high rating because it’s just such a masterpiece of a movie. The actors did an amazing job at portraying their characters and made sure you like the characters your meant to like, despite what they did in the past and dislike the characters your meant to dislike.
This movie also gave me so many emotions, for example, one moment I’m really happy and the movie is making me feel good then the next I can’t stop crying.
Despite the rating being an 18+, I would recommend to anyone 15+.
*spoilers*
I would like to state that the mouse, Mr. Jingles is my favourite character so, if you have seen it, you can guess that when Percy (played by Doug Hutchinson) stepped on the poor thing busted into tears and then when John healed him, I started crying even more because I was so happy.
I also thought the ending to the film was very poetic in the way the Paul is still alive and that being his curse, and having to see everyone he cares about die, due to John being executed despite, in the end, being innocent.
*spoilers done*
Those are all the movies I watched this month. Please know that these are my opinions, and its perfectly okay of you have different ones.
This is the first time I have ever done something like this so please let me know how I can improve. And let me know your thoughts.

A/W 2020 Fashion Month: Before Vogue Went Blank
Hi to anyone reading,
I’m sorry this post is so late! I really have no excuse apart from all my mental energy being taken up by shooting and editing my Euphoria lookbook up until now and me being too much of a lazy, nap-loving twat to face the mammoth task of a fashion month review; honestly, by the time it’s done, it’s like a dissertation-level amount of characters, so let’s say the final push to get this out is in sympathy with all my 3rd year friends I started uni with finishing their ACTUAL dissertations.
Tumblr media
Things have got scary since I originally started saving the photos for this post, and the world has been turned upside down. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the likes of which have not been seen since the Spanish Flu, Italian Vogue’s April cover was blank. As I’m writing this, 26,000+ people have died of coronavirus in Italy, the worst affected country behind the U.S in terms of sheer numbers ( though quick update: as I post this, I’m pretty sure our incompetent prick of a PM has made sure we’re up there too). Proportionally, the actual death rate is even higher, along with a handful of other European countries. There have been some complaints made about the cover and it’s supposed “lack of imagination”; all I know is that in a country whose death toll accounts for 10% of worldwide coronavirus deaths, something of a visual silence feels appropriate.
That being said, for me, writing is one of the only things giving me a sense of purpose right now. Yeah, surprise surprise, working in a grocery store isn’t all that fulfilling. Who would’ve thought it? So what better time to reflect on a time when all the rich people of the world were going about their lives as usual and sitting front row at fashion week rather than crying on Instagram live to their millions of followers about how trapped they feel in their 10 bedroom mansions.
I’ve got to say, this year’s A/W offerings were a lot better than I expected, mostly due to the fact that I’m not generally a big fan of winter fashion; it’s hard to be disappointed given my preconceptions! There’s only so many knits and coats and jeans you can see before it begins to get a bit tiring, and I expected that to be reflected in the presentations. Fortunately, even the brands which are known for their bohemian, Coachella-esque collections generally managed to translate that into something recognisable and consistent on the runway whilst actually being weather appropriate. Of course, there were a few disappointments-I’m sure if I say one of them begins with D, you can guess which brand I’m talking about-but that was more than made up for by the standouts. Gucci in particular was my 2013 Tumblr wet dream and the Moschino show was what I can only describe as a live continuation of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, though I’ll stop with my praise there and wait til I get to actually reviewing before I go overboard with kissing Alessandro Michele’s ass. And on that note, in chronological order, I’ll get one with the reviews! First up, Acne:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Continuing on a winning streak when it comes to catering to my personal preferences (if someone tries to tell me designers don’t care about my personal preferences I’m going to whack out that “just found out the world doesn’t revolve around me, shocked and upset” Marina Diamandis tweet), Acne once again channels futuristic hippy commune living in a dystopian wasteland. I know, those are very specific personal preferences
I love the shredded hems and the burnt velvet, the rawness of it all, and the baroque/your-nan’s-wallpaper patterns are actually a surprisingly nice touch. I imagine if Giselle from Enchanted had to make her dresses out of a thrifty goth’s curtains rather than an upper-middle-class New Yorker’s, they’d look something like this collection. You’ve even got the odd bit of classic fresh Scandi tailoring in there with the oversized coats and blazers which holds it back from being a bit TOO flea market. Plus, the renaissance painting detailing on the black leather-look coat is a stunning detail as well; I’m so glad it seems this trend is here to stay, why wouldn’t I want random nude bodies all over my clothes?
As for the styling, I can’t get enough of the tousled hair. As an eternally tired person who can't be arsed to pick up a brush most of the time, I feel represented. Along with the outfits, it says “I’m an art student/transient painter in the 70s living in a city loft who smokes a lot of weed and does acid on the regular” and that is a life worth manifesting.

Alberta Ferretti was dreamy, and a perfect example of how to translate the bohemian aesthetic of their S/S show to A/W. Somehow despite the furs, ruffles (pussy-bows under tailored jackets and knits/generally heavier pieces always looks really chic imo), tulle, metallic tapestry style prints and chunky jewellery, it all still looks very effortless, like a natural continuation of what we saw last summer; the typically masculine structure of the oversized suits with the ornate patterns and the accessories lends to the careful navigation along the line where maximalism and minimalism meet, the looks as practical as they are decorative. Picture it: you work some high-flying, powerful job in the city, commute on a motor cycle and roll up in one of these suit sets. This collection is for the edgy businesswoman who is completely comfortable telling all the twattish males she works with where to stick it and I want to be her.
The evening gowns are, of course, stunning too. In this analogy where I am a powerful businesswoman and not a pushover who works at a grocery store right now and only beefs with rude customers, I would be wearing one of them to the boujie work Christmas party. The ruffled dresses remind me of something Valentino would put out with the colour palette and the ruffles, and whilst we’re on the topic of colour palettes, this one is beautiful. The lilac and hot pink is SO right.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though predictable, Alessandra Rich is just as much of a treat as usual, the first brand you’d go to if you were styling a throwback it-girl, Chanel Oberlin in Scream Queens if it took place 30 years earlier. Reminiscent of an amalgamation of vintage Chanel and Versace, there are so many cute details I love here, from the white tights with the black heels and the double breasted blazers to the gold chainlink belts and the pearls. The tartan suits with the shoulder padding are very Heathers, the prints the best of your mum’s 80s wardrobe, and nobody else out there is doing bows as well as this; these are the outfits that prissy bitch wears in the cartoons of my childhood that turn out to actually be quite good fashion inspo 15 years later, Trixie Tang from Fairly Odd Parents I’m looking at you.
Tumblr media
This girl was the blueprint.
I think someone like Lilly Collins or Daphne Groeneveld would be an ideal fit for any of these looks, or Lana Del Rey if she wanted to stop serving us middle-aged suburban soccer mom and took us back to those H&M ad campaign days. Lana stans please don’t come for me for saying that, I am one of you; I say this because I love her. It’s all altruistic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whilst I admittedly didn’t love it as much as last summer’s, I really enjoyed the Alexander McQueen collection too, plus I had a better idea of what to expect this time round; no, we’re not gonna get a repeat of the Plato’s Atlantis show but we do always get some beautiful pieces. Again, like with Alberta Ferretti, this seems like a natural continuation of what we saw in the summer, just with adjustments made for the colder, darker, and altogether moodier months. A/W being the gothier older sister of S/S, it seems right that a lot of the looks turn their back on the ethereal, almost fairy-like feel of what we saw before and embrace the vampier side, reds and blacks (the ultimate Bratz Rock Angels colour combination), plenty of dramatic structures and formidable suit sets. It’s punk but it’s classy, and even with the lighter pieces, we’ve got the grunge inspired harnesses on top to contrast with the elegance and effectively, toughen the whole look up, something Gucci does well too.
The patterned suits with the clunky boots in particular are very cool and I need a gun metal grey heart detailing harness, but undoubtedly the MOMENT of this collection is Adut Akech in what appears to be a silver chainmail dress. She looks like an Amazonian goddess, and whilst I could never dream of pulling something like that off myself, I could happily admire her in it for hours.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There wasn’t much to get excited about at Altuzarra. The collection was very elegant for sure and the feathered belts are cute but it was all quite pedestrian and nothing new-the only detail I really like is the cut out on the second dress from the left, 3rd row down.
As for Anna Sui:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m not altogether sure why I wanted to review it. A lot of the outfits as a whole are a bit messy, and not in that avant-garde, expensive-looking Margiela kind of way, just in a “how many fabrics can we possibly get on this model” kind of way. Plus, the styling seems weirdly outdated-a lot of the jewellery looks like the kind of thing you’d see if you searched “gothic choker” on Ebay and ordered the results from low to high, and the makeup and hair in particular is very 2012 Tumblr fashion blogger. Backcombed hair and red lipstick? We’ve got a Zoella thumbnail on our hands.
When the collection did go down the bohemian route though (and when that route wasn’t a failed attempt at what Etro does a lot better), there were a few nice pieces and prints. I mean you really can’t go wrong with a teal fur trimmed coat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ashish, on the other hand, took their aesthetic from a similar era and did it a lot more creatively and kookily; this collection looks a lot more deserving of being on a runway. The prints are so loud and costume-y that at times the garments risk looking like something you’d wear at a decades themed dress up party, but they’re saved by understated and much more commercial silhouettes, plus some gorgeous hair and make up. On the whole, very groovy, unintentional disco queen, despite the few risks that didn’t quite pay off.
Next is a brand I always look forward to. In the words of Myrtle Snow:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BALENCIAGA!
Seriously though, if any brand knows how to blend costume and high fashion, it’s them. They take over-the-top, almost absurd silhouettes and turn them into theatre. This year we’re taking it in the direction of Phantom of the Opera, I guess? Dracula? The Woman in Black? An off-broadway production of Harry Potter where Snape is the protagonist? Whatever the direction of the collection is, I live for the dramatics of it all. Demna Gvasalia got these models walkin’ down the runway like they’re members of the Volutri, which is a reference you should all understand given the renaissance Twilight is having online atm.
Straight off the bat, I adore the staging, and all the models are exquisite-the theme of the show was climate change, and I always love when there’s a story behind the presentation of the clothes. I can’t imagine how amazing this must have been to witness in person, though I’m guessing equal parts mystical and intimidating. There are so many things I love here: billowing coats, cinched in waists, the pattens that are sprinkled sparingly in amongst the black, and the bloody shoulder pads that almost run PARALLEL to the model’s necks. This is really a collection that Myrtle Snow would be proud of and brb whilst I get rid of my padlock necklaces in favour of putting whatever meagre amount I can get for them on Depop towards a Balenciaga padlock belt (as if, lol, I don’t even think selling my soul would cover it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then there’s Balmain, which isn’t always the fashion critic’s favourite, but which I do tend to like.
I mean there are some really good takeaways here-though the 80s inspired suit, as wearable as they are, can get a little repetitive, they are staples which here seem to pave the way for Olivier Rousteing to try something new for the brand. The moulded breast plates (reminiscent of the Tom Ford one Zendaya wore though I’m not sure which came first!), for example, along with the Matador-style capes and the flowing silk dresses are the most glamorous incarnation of Lara Croft one can possibly imagine, probably just as equally suited for a Roman goddess as they are for an Assassins Creed style action heroine. And yes, I am aware of the fact that Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed are two separate games, okay!  I just don’t know enough about the visuals of either to firmly plant this collection in the camp of either one, so I’m going down the crossover route with it!
Not to say there weren’t any bad choices-I omitted a good portion of the looks that were shown; there were definitely pieces that I found to be a little tacky, particularly a recurring chain print which has got to be one of my least favourite patterns out there. Overall, though, it’s gonna be the richly coloured art-deco prints, the wet-look boots and the gem-encrusted scorpion brooch which stick with me, so I’ll let it slide.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bottega Veneta was very meh; even of the looks I picked out, there are a lot I’m now looking back at and wishing I hadn’t included. Some of the men’s pieces are nice, sure, and I feel like one of those vaguely sick, victorian ghost looking male celebrities everyone obsesses over (Timothée Chalamet and Dane DeHaan I’m looking at you) would make those suits on the second row look fine af, but it’s mostly the womenswear that I’m here for and on this occasion it wasn’t great. A couple of the coats are nice and that’s about it. Like I really had to act as if the tassels weren’t there on a lot of the clothes and go from there because I really don’t like them in this context and if I was to veto looks purely on one of the garments having tassels, there’d be nothing to show or reference when giving my opinion on the show. They were EVERYWHERE. In a summer collection, done right, they can be a nice detail but here they just feel unnecessary and if I’m being honest, are quite ugly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank god for Brock taking the sour Bottega Veneta tassel taste out of my mouth. Never a let down. Literally, everything they put out sends me into a daze of imagining I’m in some romantic drama wearing one of the pieces, in a man’s idea of “no makeup”, running round in a field looking forlorn and windswept because my ghostly lover has-
Okay, you get the picture. I’ve never read Wuthering Heights, but it goes something like that, right? If not, lets just say envisioning myself in any of these catapults me straight into some period drama where I’m born into wealth and sit by my mansion window looking sad all the time and writing poetry and lusting over some stuffy upper-class man I can’t have and who is probably played by Colin Firth because I’m pretty sure that’s what happens in most of them (about to enrage my future English lit undergraduate sister with that line).
Nobody does modest, muted sexy to such a masterful degree. I mean, when Maison Marigela did face veils I was just mildly afraid, but here they’re subtle enough that they’re quite beautiful and almost other-worldly, acting as some kind of boundary between this world and the past that Brock aims to recapture through its designs-the red lip popping out from underneath is a perfect touch too. I don’t like it AS much as the summer collection but I would say that’s solely on the basis of the more autumn/winter appropriate colour scheme and the heavier fits, which is just a personal preference. I mean, I’m usually not a fan of empire waistlines at all and Brock even manages to make that work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Burberry this season was a real mixed bag, mostly due to the styling. There are some really gorgeous, London back alley vintage shop looking pieces, especially the 70s style coats, reminiscent of outerwear a slimy record exec would've worn back in the day repurposed by someone like Alexa Chung or Zoe Kravitz or whichever effortlessly cool woman it is we all want to be-also the private boy’s school rugby gear looking shit is classic Burberry and I’m a fan of that, even though it’s not the most inventive or exciting. I just don’t get why there had to be SO much ill-fitting plaid over ill-fitting plaid. Again, like with Bottega Veneta, I thought the menswear was a lot stronger; whilst I wasn’t really wowed by anything, it seemed a lot less forced, whereas a few of the womenswear looks gave me the vibe of a design team desperately grasping onto some ill-conceived ideas of street style and relevancy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The design team at Carolina Herrera for example, know their niche. They never try to be something they’re not, always sublimely preppy and pretty and predictable-when it comes to target market, the bag is reliably secured. Laid- back princess dresses never get old for those constantly “summering” in one expensive coastal town or another, for the rich American moms attending charity galas and the Spencer Hastings and Blair Waldorfs of the world; women with glossy hair and fresh faces who act as if they woke up looking like that polished but are actually anal as hell and take 2 hours to get ready and would NEVER, I repeat NEVER, shit in a public toilet.
Yes, I managed to worm toilet habits into a review of a Carolina Herrera collection. I’m sorry. Enough with the pearl clutching.
Next is Celine:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, when there are THIS many looks, it’s hard not to find something you like, and though VERY predictable and verging on lazy when you’re putting out the same shit every collection, Celine’s aesthetic is so similar to my own ideal style, it’s hard to be mad at it. That being said, a lot of the pieces, as per usual, came across as cheap YSL knock offs; the overall outfits are cute, but the more you look at the details-it particularly pained me to include a metal bow belt and an ill-fitting velvet skater skirt but I liked the rest of the outfits-the worse it gets. Please, PLEASE someone drive it home to Hedi Slimane, I’m begging you: QUALITY NOT QUANTITY. I get what he’s going for, 70s hipster Jane Birkin is a vision I can very much get behind, but not when it seems to be so rushed.
With the men’s looks, you can get away with it a lot more; when so much of menswear is so plain and unchanging, the slightest hint of Mick Jagger is enough to make a outfit edgy. But even then, I still feel like we’re seeing a load of variations of the same outfit. There are always some pieces that catch my eye, this time round the capes and the velvet blazers, and I would wear most of these things, sure, however I don’t think the combinations SHOULD necessarily look like something I’d personally put together; a runway collection is supposed to be aspirational and cutting edge, not pedestrian (entirely intentional self-drag, lol). Also, side note, the lack of diversity really bothered me. 111 looks and not one of these models has a body type that is naturally achievable for most people. It’s 2020 for fuck’s sake. I’m tired.
SO, let’s liven things up a bit with the Central Saint Martins collection, a breath of fresh air in terms of diversity (though a few more plus-size models would be nice):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a former University of London student, I hate to heap praise upon them. If you’ve studied in London as well, you’ll know CSM students are ANNOYING. I mean, I’m sure they’re lovely as individuals but you can’t fully understand the meaning of the word pretentious until you’ve seen a group of them at a Uniqlo Tate Late. That being said, they are very good at what they do and I’m so glad that Vogue Runway includes them; this is what Off-White thinks it is, and really it makes sense that a bunch of current fashion students are able to come together to present one of the most experimental and forward-thinking shows of this season.
And let’s talk about the RANGE. From catsuits worthy of comic book heroes to  dresses Twiggy would’ve worn in a 1960s editorial, every subgenre of fashion has been fully delved into here. Whilst we’ve got the adrogyny of the suits and suspenders combo and kitschy gender-bending co-ords David Bowie would be proud of, at the other end of the scale we’ve also got models walking down the runway dressed like wood nymphs or some other kind of siren-like creatures. There’s looks that wouldn’t be out of place in a Gucci or Come Des Garcons collection but at that same time would be equally at home in a Berlin techno club.
Honestly, credit where credit’s due-it was a really interesting show and I wouldn’t expect anything less.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chanel was quite literally the polar opposite of the CSM show.
Very blah.
It’s crazy because before you properly get INTO fashion, Chanel is like the epitome of style. And then you do, and you see the runway shows get lazier and lazier (with some exceptions) every year, and you realise that same prestige that had you aware of Chanel at the age of 7 or 8 is literally all that’s keeping the brand going at this point. I’m not saying the collection is flat out ugly, a lot of it’s cute, but you’re CHANEL for fuck’s sake. Yeah, I like the crucifixes but SCALLOPED HEMS!? No. I do NOT recall travelling back in time to witness Primark’s Spring 2013 collection on the runway and I am NOT having it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s not at all surprising that a lot of the time newer brands Charlotte Knowles (above) tend to be more interesting than those more established-and yes that was a Chanel indirect if the transition wasn’t obvious.
With no room to rest on laurels or reputation, everything has to be bolder and smarter and more distinctive and most importantly, has to appeal to its target market with the fervour of an L.A sign spinner. I only found out about Charlotte Knowles because of a Vogue article citing her as Bella Hadid’s new favourite brand to wear, and once I saw the collection, it was clear why; daringly modern, slick, and edgy is both her street style (say what you want about her as a model but her outfit game is unbeaten) and Knowles’ USP to a T. If Dion Lee, Off-White, GCDS and Acne had an orgy, this would be the result, and that is a GOOD compliment.
Next, Chloe:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not a huge amount to say, to be honest. Low-key, wearable, and cute. Like Emma Roberts’ Nancy Drew if she did an autumn exchange program at the Sorbonne and studied art history, libraries and coffee shops on the weekdays and galleries and protests at the weekend. On reflection, that definitely makes this collection sound more exciting than it is but there are some effortlessly beautiful pieces here. The 4th row in particular is full of stand outs-the vest with the watercolour faces on with the shirt underneath is perfection, and the burgundy suit with the saffron ruffled collar peeking out from underneath is adorable and not at all reminiscent of the Ronald McDonald inspired nightmare that any combination of red and yellow tones should theoretically be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for Christian Siriano, I see why people hate it, I really do. I understand that it seems kinda unfair to have it show the same week as Brock and Rodarte and Oscar de La Renta. We’re talking 2 very different kinds of quality here. BUT, at pure face value, his clothes are FUN, plus Coco Rocha will always have a special place in my heart as someone who lived on The Face and America’s Next Top Model and every show that could possibly give me an unhealthy body image ever.
Like are you telling me you wouldn’t wear these dresses to a party!? Live a little. They just need tailoring...which ideally would be done BEFORE the model’s walking down the runway in it but...you know...can’t have it all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Christopher Kane is a show I always look forward to.
I would say his designs are the only thing that make geometry look fun but I’m going to expose myself and admit that would be a lie because I actually found geometry really fun. Trigonometry was my shit, lol.
He is a designer who perfectly demonstrates that juggling interseasonal consistency and taking risks can be done. There’s always something DIFFERENT about his collections, fresh and subtly experimental. There are occasionally a few misses, sure, but I’d rather that than for a brand to keep playing safe, plus he never goes too far in the opposite direction either; no going weird for the sake of weird. I don’t like it AS much as the summer collection but it’s mostly because of the more muted, autumn/winter appropriate colour palette.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Comme Des Garçons? Too weird?
Never.
Honestly when it comes to a CDG collection, I have to really shift my perspective to appreciate it. I’m not looking at fashion presentation, I’m looking at a moving piece of experimental art. I know, it’s a stretch. But you know you’ll never be bored by one of their shows. Not gonna lie, this specific collection crossed the line into plain ugly a couple of times for me. We had padding so extravagant it looked like several models were walking round with Ikea pillows stuck to their chest and headdresses reminiscent of the kids’ game Headbandz. In amongst that though, we did get some gorgeous veils like the ones seen above and the shoes and socks combo is actually quite wearable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’d say Dilara Findikoglu is the cut-off point after which things get a little too avant-garde for my personal taste, and it hovers over that cut-off point flawlessly; despite the other-worldly elements of her collections, they remain somewhat grounded by nods towards conventional fashion that allow the beauty, be it inner or outer, of the wearer to shine through. Comme Des Garcons garments undeniably have character but they tend to swallow up any trace of the individual underneath, whereas the character of Dilara Findikoglu garments seamlessly merges with the wearer and in turn elevates both to something transcendent and ethereal. If the Pussycat Dolls got transported into a rugged, post-apocalyptic future, they’d scrape together these outfits to perform in, I know it; the energy of the collection, with the body jewellery and the frayed cut outs and the chalk white faces, is very warrior princess, just as raw and intimidating as it is hot as fuck, and I want that energy in my life. Along with a Dilara belt, of course. I would wear her name like a badge of honour anytime she wants. Dilara, pls pls let me be part of your tribe. PLEASE.
Anyway, this is where I thought I’d cut things off, so as to end on a positive note. You know what that means: Dior is coming up. I feel bad knowing my first post was defending Maria Grazia and yet here I am now, looking at the bar down on the floor, but I mean, you never know; maybe girl is doing this on purpose and one day she’s gonna come out with a Gucci level quality show like a phoenix from the ashes.
If you got this far, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING even if you’re just here for the pics. Part 2 will be covering some of my most anticipated shows from Elie Saab, Fendi and Etro to Gucci and Moschino, Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs, and everything in between. Yes, the shitty ones too.
I’m plowing through all the material as quick as I can so I hope to get the next post up really soon, and yes-you can count on the overwhelming sense of needing to be productive pushing me into fulfilling that statement.
Thanks again and I hope you’re well!

Smokey brand Reviews: Carrie Lite
Since we’re all under government quarantine, i mean, since we’re all social distancing, i figure this is a good opportunity to catch up on some of the things is didn’t have enough tome to see otherwise. There were a few movies coming out that i wanted to take a legit theater gander at but i think they’re hitting streaming instead. Invisible Man, i’m looking at you. In the meantime, i took in a few shows on the Netflix that caught my interest, the first of which is I Am Not Okay With This. It’s the new show from Jonathan Entwistle, the director of the excellent End of the F*cking World, and appear to be a mixture of that show and Carrie. I absolutely adore End and Carrie is one of my favorites stories ever told, so my anticipation for this adaption was palpable. After binging the entire show in a day, i must say, i have opinions.
The Good
I rather like the overall plot of this show. It feels real. Telekinetic powers aside, this feels like one of the more realistic portrayals of awkward teen development i’ve seen in some time. Everyone is so awkward. Everyone is so clumsy. It’s like watching actual high school kids living high school lives. No one knows who the f*ck they are except the weird kid, which is the truest thing about this narrative that you never see in lesser, teen oriented dramedies.
Speaking of narrative, the writing on this show is strong as f*ck. Easily one of the better written shows out right now. Seriously, this is about as tight in the writing department as End of the F*cking World and that was, easily, the best written show i had seen in probably a decade. Okay gives that masterpiece a run for it’s money.
My, goodness, is this thing beautifully shot. The frames chosen, the pans, the wipes, that use of slow motion at just the right time; All of it comes together in a feast for the eyes. This show is truly a joy to watch. It’s not super laden with effects or saturated with Bayhem or whatever but if you’re a fan of camera work, the composition of shots, or the way Wes Anderson frames his scenes, you’ll definitely appreciate the look of this show.
The direction of this show is good. I can’t say i’m enthused by it because i already saw it in The End of the F*cking World, and this show skews to hard toward that one. That’s a choice made by Jonathan Entwistle, considering he was a director and creative force behind both shows. Now, i understand that cats have a certain style, a certain flair to their craft. You know a David Fincher flick when you see it. You know a Chris Nolan flick when you see it. That said, their movies are not the same. Dunkirk does not feel like The Dark Knight. Alien 3 does not feel like Gone Girl. There are, of course, superficial similarities; Cinematography, shot composition, editing style, etc. But, the sum of the parts does not make the same whole, over and over again. Michael By has that problem. It’s why no one takes him seriously as a director anymore. You have to innovate, evolve your style, to stay relevant and Entwistle seems to be resting on his laurels with Okay. He’s good at his job, don’t misunderstand, i’m just left wanting, you know?
The casting of this show is pretty legit. I mean, there are those twenty-somethings masquerading as teenagers but the gap isn’t as bad as you’d assume. I’m pretty sure these cats are supposed to be around Junior/Senior level age and, for the most part, the main cast falls in that wheelhouse relatively adequately. That lends itself to the believability of this teenage dramadey. I mean, who the f*ck is trying to watch a show at thirty-year-teenagers? Riverdale, i’m looking at you.
Sophia Lillis is absolutely brilliant as the our heroine, Sydney Novak. An obvious Carrie White allegory, Sophia was able to inject a genuineness to her character that give Syd an independent energy. Syd’s plight is rooted in very real, very emotional, turmoil that lends itself to what a lot of real life teens nowadays, have to face. Ma was excellent as Beverly Marsh in the IT films and i hear great things about Sharp Objects so i had confidence she could carry this show. I can’t say i was surprised when she hit it out of the park but i was, one again, incredibly impressed. I mean, she’s f*cking fresh 18! There’s no way she should be this god at her craft, so early in her career!
Another standout, and easily my favorite character in this show, was that of Stan Barber. Stan is that weird kid i poke of earlier. He has his own issues at home but Wyatt Oleff’s portrayal makes that sh*t real. He embodies that high anxiety and awkward waywardness. You can tell Stan has lived a life and is just done with the nonsense superficiality of High School bullsh*t, a fact that i can identify with. Stan is delightful eccentric, lovably awkward, and refreshingly real throughout his arc, all testament to the outstanding portrayal of Wyatt Oleff. Interestingly enough, he, too, is an IT alum. That cast of kids was truly excellent. It’s dope seeing them branch off into other great roles.
Sofia Bryant’s Dina, Syd’s best friend and object of infatuation, deserves a mention as well. She was excellent in her role, mostly. There were times when i felt her portrayal a little wooden or flat but, overall, she did a great job. It was necessary for whoever was cast as Dina to have that chemistry with Syd and Bryant played well off Lillis. Without that relationship, this entire show wouldn’t work. Fortunately, Bryant and Lillis are excellent together onscreen.
The supporting cat is pretty strong as well. No one feels fake or inorganic to the world created in this show. I have to recognize Aidan Wojtak-Hissong and Richard Ellis as Liam Novak and Brad Ellis, respectively. These cats were integral, if underutilized, to the plot. I was a little disappointed with Jenny Tuffield, played by Sophia Tatum. Her generic bad-boy turned bad-girl archetype, complete with cliche leather jacket and everything, felt too manufactured. The Fonz doesn’t exist in modern day. Greasers are extinct. Still, i think she did a decent job with what she had but she ain’t have much.
The Bad
Some characters felt underutilized. For instance, Maggie Novak, Syd’s mom. There is a lot there for the character to do but it feels like her role was purposely mitigated to exposition and cameo. I wanted more of their mother/daughter relationship. I wanted a more intimate exploration of their family dynamic. They found a way to work around that absence but it felt a little cheap. Missed potential for sure.
This show feels a little too much like End of the F*cking world. That’s not a terrible thing for me as i love that show, but it kind of handicaps what I Am Not Okay With This can truly be. If you’re constantly looking at this show through End colored goggles, you’re not truly seeing this specific show for what it is. In the long run, i think this is a detriment. End is the superior show, easily, but Okay has enough originality to stand on it’s own. They’ll definitely need to pivot for season two.
It’s very obvious that this season is only a set up for future seasons of this show. Unlike End, which had a definitive end after their first season, Okay seems to want to continue some sort of narrative. That’s fine as long as it’s planned out. Netflix is good about nixing shows before they over stay their welcome but the way this season climaxed has me worried. it feels like some Riverdale nonsense or that goofy Walking Dead thing they do where it ends on a cliffhanger of sorts. That does not bode well for the future. However, Netflix has succeeded more than they have failed in this avenue so i’ll keep the faith. For now.
The Verdict
This Is Not Okay With This is a great show, if a little derivative. It’s filled with beautiful cinematography, a compelling if a little familiar plot, and excellent performances. The teenage interactions feel real and organic while the overall narrative is decently executed, testament to the strong writing. Okay feels a little too much like End of the F*cking World at times and definitely wears it’s Carrie influences on it’s sleeve but that’s okay. For a first season, this show gets off to a strong start. Hopefully, it becomes more of it’s own thing going forward but, for a first attempt, they definitely stuck the landing. I’m Not Okay With This is definitely an easy recommend and worth your time. Since the world has stopped for at least a few weeks, there’s more than enough time to check this gem out.
Also, both of these shows are comic adaptions by a guy named Charles Forsman. You should check the books out, too, since we got all the time in the world. Literally.

Pairing: Taehyung x Reader!Sofia <Yeontan featured>
Word Count: 1.8k
Requested and Dedicated to: @taeandpuppies  - I really hope you enjoy this and I really hope I captured a lot of you within this story as well <3
Tumblr media
It’s days like these when the sun shines through the blinds covering your windows leaving swaying shadows across your bed that you find the will to sit up. Pain nips at your joints prompting you to carefully remove the covers from your legs, turning to press your feet onto the ground. Lilly, your Norfolk terrier stands within her crate, tail wagging profusely while she pants in excitement. “Good morning, my Lilly,” you coo whilst a smirk tugs on your lips as you ball your hands into fists to steadily stand. Without a second to prepare yourself, you fall to the ground,
“Goodness,” you grit your teeth while you attempt to stand, fighting to remain on your feet for a few seconds to recuperate. Of course, Lilly whines in concern, but you bend forward regardless- wincing from the jolt of pain in your shoulder blades, to open the crate, letting her small form greet you while you let her out in your fenced in backyard.
You were ten years old when it happened.
Diving in the sea with family members when tragically, a fatal accident, you bumped your head- paralyzing you from the neck down. You’ll never forget the rush to the hospital, the numerous questions swarming within your mind, nor the agony of the news of possibly never being able to walk again. When x-rayed, it was revealed that vertebrae 2-6 were completely shattered; your eyes enlarged in horror, yet there was nothing you could do but lay there in the cold hospital bed without a single modicum of being able to move. It took about four weeks before you were able to move your right hand as well as your left foot- which the doctor claimed that would be as far as you would be able to get. It took seven years of rehab and determination until you were able to leave your wheelchair- something your doctor rejoiced as a miracle. But you know in your heart it was more than that,
You’re a fighter.
You open the door for Lilly once she barks to let you know she’s finished- preparing her bowl of food while she paws at your legs, eagerly waiting for you to set her food down for her to dig in. It’s your typical morning routine, while Lilly eats, you rush to the restroom to brush your teeth and freshen up for the day, throwing on a casual outfit- deciding it’s a pretty day enough to take a long stroll. Gathering Lilly’s leash, you hook it to her collar, packing a water bottle and a small book you’ve been reading, and head out toward the nearest park. The pain in your limbs subsides, for the time being, your mind focusing on the path ahead until the familiar rows of green-leaved trees meet your vision. White flowers bloom across numerous branches, the sun rays protruding onto the pavement while the soft petals sway to the ground from the subtle wind breezing along the trail.
You smile at the scenery, appreciating every bit of it, Lilly tugging on the leash ahead while she sniffs at the grass poking at the asphalt on the sides. It’s been a few years since you were able to officially rid of the wheelchair now, the only thing you struggle with is maintaining balance at times along with aching bones around certain areas of your frame; not even to mention the fifth cold you’ve gotten over within the last three months. Sometimes, trying to build your immune system is hard to do with it being so weak since the accident.
Deep in your thoughts, you’re so caught up in the way the trees sway, you hardly notice the sound of a deep, panicked voice nor the black and tan, fluffy coat of an animal flashing toward Lilly in glee.
“Yeontan! Yeontan, no!” The sound of the voice snaps you to reality, your eyes finding the wagging puff of a tail while two little, black noses sniff along each other’s bodies in introduction.
“Oh, my word!” You say in awe, the Pomeranian, a breed you’re already familiar with, pounces backward in an attempt to play; Lilly raising her paw slightly while she watches the dog’s every movement. You realize then the large hand shuffling frantically to retrieve the Pomeranian’s leash; your eyes trailing to reveal a face that nearly knocks you off your feet.
“I’m so sorry! I promise he’s friendly!” The man, brown hair wavy upon his forehead fluffing over the tips of his ears, has a hand towards you in assurance, though you can’t help the soft laughter escaping your wide smile. “He’s a fugitive, I tell you,”
“It’s okay,” your tone is timid, but your smile leads his expression to soften just enough to show his eyes clouding in relief. When his pink lips fall into an anxious line, he clears his throat, “Taehyung,” he offers his hand, you reach forward to shake it; your peripherals of Lilly keeping your focus while the two dogs continue to play.
“Sofia,” you nod.
Taehyung turns to glimpse at the two dogs, “And, this is Yeontan. May I ask what your puppy’s name is?”
“Lilly,” you feel bad for being such an introvert in this moment, but you can’t help the light of attraction burning within you- it’s been a while since you have seen someone so alluring- a jawline sculpted to perfection for a model, a tall frame toned as if he does nothing but dance for twelve hours a day, to the small freckle decorating his nose. When your stare lingers, you catch yourself enough to prevent an awkward tension, “Do you come here often?”
When small talk turns into the two of you continuing on the path, both your dogs walking ahead side by side, you can’t help the notice of his arm brushing yours every now and then; or, the way you catch him in the act of glimpsing at you to avert his gaze back to his shoes scraping along with the concrete- him stunned by the beauty you withhold in your soul. There’s more to you he has yet to learn, and from that day forward, he makes every way possible to do just that.
Days turn into months of spoiling your dogs, cuddling on the couch at the start of winter to watch the sports channel, to adventuring onto new paths at parks in other areas, scoping out the scenery the two of you share a passion for. One day, in particular, nearly half a year spent every waking moment the two of you could obtain, you’re in the process of dressing for another date, asking Taehyung if he can hook the necklace, he had surprised you with moments before, behind your neck.
That’s when he notices for the first time.
The tip of a thick scar where they had performed your operation for your spinal injury over a decade ago. It’s a story you haven’t fully opened about; though Taehyung has been aware of your sensitivity due to nerve damage, you always mask it by toughing through it; him right by your side in preparation to catch you if you are to fall. His fingers brush along the part of the scar that’s visible; tears brimming your eyes when he moves to place a gentle kiss upon it.
“You’re the strongest person I know,” he whispers, the warmth of him embracing you from behind tenderly in caution of any pain he may cause by the gesture. He doesn’t even know the full story, yet he knows that you conquered the trial by storm; refusing to accept any negativity that is thrown your way. That’s the night you happen to tell him everything- his eyes widening with so much inspiration for the accomplishment you achieved because you never gave up the fight.
A couple more months pass, you fall asleep on the couch, Lilly curled behind your legs- Taehyung and Yeontan passed out in the bed. You awaken in the middle of the night, pain causing hitched breaths at the back of your throat, Lilly whining in a panic as she jumps to lick at your face. Taehyung hears the commotion, jolting from the bed with Yeontan scurrying suit.
“Sofia,” Taehyung reaches you immediately, guardedly placing his hands upon your cheeks. Just that small act of love brings a peace you can’t explain- the sensation of your joints dimming to an elusive throbbing that you’re able to bare just enough to maneuver yourself to sit up.
“I’m sorry,” you whimper, “I didn’t mean to wake you,”
“No,” he whispers, “Don’t say that. You have nothing to be sorry for,” Taehyung rests his forehead on yours, his frilly hair tickling at your skin while the tip of his nose presses to yours. “I would have carried you to bed, but you looked so cute, I didn’t want to wake you,“
“Oh, hush,” you can’t help the smile finding its way to your parting lips, your body relaxing from the tension of trying to retain comfort, “Why are you so perfect,” your voice is hardly audible, and the words roll off your tongue before you can even catch yourself.
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” Taehyung tilts his head while his eyes flicker to investigate yours. With furrowed eyebrows, you can’t help the confusion pouring from your expression,
“Me?”
“Sofia,” Taehyung says incredulously, “You are a warrior,” he refuses to avert his gaze from your eyes- the ones he gets lost in every chance he can, “Optimistic, intelligent, loving, extraordinarily beautiful,” you’re in disbelief at the flood of compassion waving from his lips that are now kissing every inch of your face, the pain that had been plaguing you vanishing completely while Tae’s voice soothes you, “A conqueror, determined, goal-oriented, need I say more? Yes-”
Tears pang your cheeks- you’re so in love with him you can hardly contain it. His kisses moving to your earlobes and your shoulders, his hand still tangled in your hair while he professes even more words to define the soul that you are.
“Sofia,” he returns to face you completely, his lips just a few centimeters from yours, “You are my soldier,”
Tears blur your vision, though you bring your hands to cup his face- you’re speechless- never in your wildest dreams did you ever imagine a man as beautiful as him would enhance your life to what it is now. You’ve always been a fighter- but he reminds you of that every single day. You kiss him then- getting lost in the sensation of his warmth while he hovers above you- bodies tangling together while he captures your kiss so passionately with his own.
Yeontan and Lilly cuddle off onto the large dog bed Taehyung had bought- the two oblivious to the love that was said minutes prior. And there’s nothing else that can complete you so perfectly- just Taehyung, Lilly, and Yeontan-
The three souls that take all the pain away.

dove bought phosphorescent ribbon tape to tape at home, before leaving for London. lilly bought same. only to have her home-boy work on smth. sofia had no time yet considering that over next near future - mebbe (watching 'songbird makes me look at ‘sylvester stallone filming highlander, afraid of heights - so it might be ‘sofia might not tape her hall ways any phosphorescent ribbon anytime soon). i go nani, i love you woman, you are beautiful. m

We’ve sampled a few unsolicited reviews from our clients we hope you will find helpful
As of this publishing, not even a single escort from our agency has received a bad review from a client. This tells you that we make good on our promise to give you the best experience in the whole of New York. Take a look at what our satisfied customers are saying about our Asian girls;
Review for Ada- By Oliver (Ollie)
Girlfriend experience doesn’t get any better than a night out with Ada. I would definitely recommend her to anyone out there seeking to experience what I experienced with her. She turned up to our meeting on time in a partially revealing dress and classy high heels, and for a moment, I felt like I went for someone way out of my league. True, she was waaay way out of my league, but she made me feel adequate and worth it. I won’t get into the details of the night but, daaamn that was time and money well spent! See you, New York, till we meet again! And thumbs up Asianparty Girl Escortnyc!
Review for Betty- By Dewey
Betty is definitely a 5-star girl! To be honest, I had my doubts about this choice having been burnt by a different agency some time back, and so I wouldn’t have been surprised if it happened again! Betty was everything I had hoped she would be. She was easy to talk to, had a bubbly personality you would think we had known each other for years. Her eyes! She can totally seduce you with her eyes alone and close the deal with her big firm breasts! I’ll call again, that goes without saying.
Review for Alani- By Marsh
I asked Alani to wear the lingerie she’s donning in her profile, well, she did, but it was black this time, and it was even hotter! That girl can striptease…I haven’t tried many escorts before; therefore, I’m not the perfect guy to give a recommendation, but if it’s worth anything, I recommend Alani a thousand times!
Review for Olivia- By Rick
Great service! Olivia is undoubtedly the best girl Asianparty Girl Escortnyc has to offer! She knows her trade well, she arrived early, asked if she can use the bathroom, and a few seconds later she threw me her g-string and asked if I can join her in the shower! You bet I hoped in their as quick as I could get. I recommend Olivia for anyone that wants to hook up with a lustful Asian chic that is not complicated at all!
Review for Aimili- By Randy
Aimili is perfect! She’s lively, neat, and never condescending at all like the first girl I tried from some conny agency in San Francisco! I really enjoyed my time with Aimili, hope our paths cross again!
Review for Isabella- By Kristian
Isabella is charming and very easy to talk to. She’s experienced; I leaned back and had her take the lead. It was one of the most memorable escort experiences thanks Asianparty Girl Escortnyc for making it possible. I can’t really recall the name of the guy that recommended Isabella (from your support), but hey, if you can read this- you nailed it, I’ll be calling soon!
Review for Emma- By Seth
Hey Emma, I’m already planning for the next time. You were terrific and so nice to me. I experienced eroticism on a level I haven’t before. Thanks for broadening my sexual horizons. It was really nice knowing you. See you soon girl!
Review for Madison- By Xander
Madison you made my last day in New York worth the stay, and I wished I had known you earlier my three weeks’ stay would have been much better! Your sense of humor is impeccable for a stranger, and I know I’ll be starring on my ceiling soon with my eyes dimmed fantasizing about you beside me. That was one hell of an escort service!
Review for Aaliyah- By Sam
This was one rendezvous to remember! People, those breasts and ass are as real as they get, I would totally recommend this girl to anyone including my Rabbi! She is so realistic; we held a lively conversation like we’ve known each other for so goddamn long. She loves her job and I was surprised that she had a successful modeling career be she enjoyed spending her time in escort. Aaliyah is inspirational as much as she is sexy and absolutely delicious!
Review for Abigael- By Tor
Escort services are often a gamble for me and I wasn’t expecting much from Abigael but I was totally misguided. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc you have one hell of an asset, treat her right! Abigael is easy going, sexy and an excellent humorist. I think we ended up talking than we did anything else. She’s fun, the girlfriend I’ll never have! I recommend this girl to anyone looking for the best girlfriend experience around New York!
Review for Lilly- By Parson
New York can be quite hectic, but returning to your hotel room to find Lily is everything to look forward to. I had Lily for three straight days, and when I look back, they were the best 3 days I’ve ever spent in New York. On our last days, we had dinner at a joint she recommended, and I loved the whole experience. I’ll miss when you would take a nap on my bare chest, and we would lie there like the world had stopped to watch us be happy! You have my five stars, Lilly. You are totally worth it!
Review for Kayla- By Che
Kayla gave me an experience tailored to my kinky needs and the least I owe her is a glowing review. I’ll just go ahead to say that I strongly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a fine Asian girl to blow some steam with. She’s nice, respects boundaries and damn hot naked. My biggest fear was to find out that she wasn’t whoever I saw in her profile but to my delight they were the same damn hot Asian girl. Kayla is a real gem; book her before she’s taken!
Review for Sofia- By Patrick
I’m not proud of it but the truth is that I’m not generally a people’s person and I thought that I’ll just finish my business with Sofia and she’ll be on her way to the next assignment. Well, now I realize that I underestimated her charm and how easily she can get you to open up to matters. She’s a good listener and although I knew that she was just doing her job, for a while it felt like I was speaking to someone that cared and wanted the best for me. She is really human, call her if you want someone cool you can have some wonderful time together!
Review for Leah- by Travis
Asianparty Girl Escortnyc- you’ve definitely won my heart with your service. I recommend the agency for being straightforward and making good on its promises to deliver hot Asian escorts. I also recommend my date of two days- the lustful Leah! She lived up to the hype on her profile. I took her to dinner and she was really classy before getting back to my place where I devoured those breasts you see on her profile and I can tell you that the whole thing was a total success and I would do it again given the chance.
Review for Emma- By Randol
Emma was super cool and exciting to be around. She is charming with a terrific sense of humor. She made me feel comfortable, especially when she learnt that she was my first escort. We ended up talking about her experiences; she helped me open up about my insecurities and reminded me that I could do anything I always wished to try with her. It is really nice finding someone that digs you in this manner. Emma is a one of a kind escort; I’ll do her again and again whenever I’m in the mood!
Review for Hailey- By Kim
Hailey, if other girls I try after you don’t match the experience you gave me then thanks for ruining everyone else for me! It was a magical experience the one day we spent together; I wish it never ended so quickly but at least I have a story to tell and a girl to recommend to my friends and anyone in New York looking for an Asian hottie to spend some quality time with.
Review for Ella- By Abdulla
Ella was my first escort after 4 years of boycotting escort services after one terrible experience and finally realizing that man cannot live on one girl alone! I must admit that Ella and Asianparty Girl Escortnyc restored my lost enthusiasm for escorts. I can’t quite tell if Ella was exceptional as I felt or it is the years of withdrawal that had brought that feeling of utmost satisfaction. Nonetheless, it doesn’t change the fact that I had a wonderful time with her and would call her again the next time I’m charge up for some escort services.
Review for Aimili- By Stefan
I will definitely give another encounter with the lovely Aimili another try. Her overall outlook was exceptional and I wouldn’t mind a next time with this beauty. She is lustful in real life than she looks in her photos and I say that in the best possible context. She makes you feel comfortable around her. Her charm is intoxicating; to be sincere I would book Aimili again given the chance. Bravo Asianparty Girl Escortnyc, you’ve really picked up on our interests! Good service!
Review for Emma- By Nillan
Honestly I was drawn to Emma’s profile by her big inviting titties and the slutty posture she just pulled in the couple of photos in her gallery. She is even naughtier in real life than she is in the pictures. I say this without fear of contradiction that Emma is the best stranger company you can ask for in New York. She’s knowledgeable and charming- her people skills are on another damn level! Emma changed my perspective on escorts for good, and I’m really glad I booked her. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc, you are the best!
Review for Betty- By Jade
Betty is polite and respectful for an escort! I really enjoyed our time together and will definitely recommend her to anyone looking to have the same experience I received!
Review for Sofia- By Drew
Well, this is my first review for an escort and it had to be for Sofia. She is gorgeous, easy going and a real wizard between the sheets. Sofia gave me the best service I’ve ever received from an escort and I’ll be down for the same experience the next time I’m in NY! The whole service was smooth, from booking to delivery- the folks at Asianparty Girl Escortnyc really know their craft!
Review for Hailey- By Remmy
If you are looking for a playful Asian girl with a really nice personality then I recommend Hailey. She gave me the best girlfriend experience of my life and the least I owe her is a five-star rating! Hailey is the real thing people, she’s worth every dime and time spend on her. If I had to redo the whole thing I would still choose her!
Review for Aaliyah- By Thom
It was nice knowing you AAliyah, you are the easiest-to talk to stranger I have ever encountered. Thanks for showing me some good time!
Review for Lily- By Jerome
Asianparty Girl Escortnyc is the best high end Asian escort agency in New York, take my word for it I have sampled a couple. They are straightforward in everything; they give you timely updates on the status of your “delivery” you will love how this agency carries itself. Lily was suggested by the agency and she never disappointed. I loved everything about her!
Review for Ella- By Cleo
I was craving some hot Asian bimbo and boom, Asianparty Girl Escortnyc sends Ella to my hotel room. The whole experience was a success- Ella was everything my promiscuous ass needed! Wonderful service, totally worth the try!
Review for Sofia- By Tim
I have a strong foot fetish and my girl is not much into these things but I love her anyway. I called Asianparty Girl Escortnyc and asked them to arrange a girl that can indulge my fetish and they sent Sofia. I’ve never had my feet rubbed so gentle and skillfully like Sofia did. She knows her craft so well we ended up exploring things I never thought I was into. I’ll be back for a rematch that’s a promise!
Review for Kayla- By Harold & Janet
My girlfriend and I have always wanted to try a threesome and this is not something we would just tell our friends! So we’ve been planning this for a while now and I suggested getting an escort so that if the experience goes south no one will need to know. We called Asianparty Girl Escortnyc and they sent Kayla who was what we had anticipated and even more. Kayla was the perfect match for a beginner’s threesome. We let her steer the whole thing and it was the best sexual experience we have ever received. I’m treating my girl to Kayla for her birthday, she doesn’t know this yet!
Review for Olivia- By Eddie
Her waist fitted perfectly in my hands, and you can already tell that it was one of those moments you never wish ends. Olivia is an enthusiastic lover, I really enjoyed my time with her and I’m hoping she did to. She is nice, lively; she even taught me a few moves when I sought her opinion. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc never disappoint!
Review for Madison- By Ben
Of all the escorts I’ve tried in my time I love Madison the most. She is the complete package when it comes to glamour, naughty, and practical social skills. I went down at the hotel lobby to pick her and no one would have suspected we just met. She smiled when I signaled it’s me she was waiting for, gave me a tight hug and held my arm to the elevator. Yeah, we kissed in the elevator I guess she was equally horny! Long story short, I will be calling back for a follow-up encounter!
Review for Isabella- By Nimoy
Isabella comes in overflowing eroticism! She was calm and composed when we met; for a minute I thought I had booked me the dullest Asian slut in town. Anyway, we went for dinner and she was shaping up to be the girl I had seen in her profile. She was warm and a little vulgar like I wanted. She walked to me at diner whispered that her panties was killing her and she was going to remove them in the restroom and will be back in a few. I was having the urge to follow her and maybe steal a quickie but I choose to stay. She came back and we were headed to my room where she turned up the naughty, and there I was hooking up with the baddest Asian girl in New York! She is the real deal; book her before I do it again!
Review for Leah- By Chris
Leah is luscious behind closed doors and a terrific conversationalist you can never get bored with her around. We spent the entire day together, visiting different places. She knows the city quite well especially all the interesting joints. After an exciting tour we headed to my place and had the most thrilling encounter I definitely live to remember.
Review for Ella- By Tobi
Ella was totally worth my time and money. She has a warm personality, quite light-hearted- she made me feel like I was her long lost friend and we had so much to catch up. I once had an escort that asked so many personal questions that I felt like I was in the interrogation room at the NYPD. This was not the case with Ella, although she chatted a lot, not once did she overstep and try to pull personal information from me. I enjoyed the naughty and professional balance Ella displayed. If you love your privacy but still one someone fun to be around, Ella is your girl!
Review for Abigail- By Jake
There’s nothing arousing like a girl that can striptease so well! Abigail is one hell of a stripteaser, and for that I give her a five-star rating, she’s totally worth it! Well I never wanted to get much into her professional background the same way I would never have given out personal information, but my best guess is that she’s been a stripper once or she currently is! She made me feel like I was being entertained by the finest stripper in the club. After the steamy treat, we stayed in bed and talked about everything we were both comfortable engaging in. She appreciated the little tip I gave her afterwards, of course after paying her fee in full and told me that she couldn’t wait for another encounter. I was sold, and will definitely be back for more!
Review for Ada- By Anonymous
I had the best experience ever with Ada! She is exactly what she says in her bio. I really enjoyed how good she was with her craft- I felt like I could get comfortable with this kind of life. Ada gave me one calming massage I won’t be forgetting soon. Her fingers are electric; the effect was almost instant. While I was still savoring the magical experience she was already opening my fly and before I knew it my d*#k was soaking in her mouth. Ada is spontaneous, and very sure about what she’s doing! Satisfaction is guaranteed with Ada- she’s a keeper!
Review for Alani- By Jason
Alani is bratty, and she doesn’t try to suppress that side of her, not one bit! She loves her naughty-self and she expresses it in her performance. We were chatting back and forth while headed to my room and from nowhere she asks that if I had one wish only for the night what will it be? I said I’d have a blowjob. Well, we got to the room, she pinned me against the door, hurriedly lowered my pants and gave me the steamiest blowjob I have ever received. We had the whole night together and I was already thrown off balance. I let her take the lead for the rest of the night and I was never disappointed. Of course I’d recommend her to you, although I would love to keep her to myself.
Review for Betty- By Theo
What an outstanding service by the Asianparty Girl Escortnyc! Thanks to this agency I had some of my wildest fantasies acted on by Betty. Betty is sassy, a beautiful lady that’s damn good with her body! She’ll easily get you nutting all over the place with her mere touch. There’s a way she caresses you so gently, softly running her fingers over your whole body and taking her sweet time on your favorite spots. After the whole erotic thing we took a walk in the beautiful New York night. It was magical- the whole thing! I would totally do this again and again. Try her, she’s the complete package!
Review for Emma- By Hard
Talk of an experience to remember and my encounter with Emma was definitely one! I didn’t choose her; the agency did when I told the guy in charge that I just need a soothing experience with the liveliest girl available. Emma was their recommendation, so I checked her profile up and I was sold on seeing her boobies. I get turned on by a nice rack and Emma’s was perfect. She arrived for our meeting in time, very classy in her looks; we had dinner and rendezvoused to my room where I had my first sexual encounter with an Asian babe. It was amazing and I’m wondering why I waited that long! This agency lives up to its hype, and if all girls are like Emma then there’s obviously going to be a next time for me!
Review for Ada- By Winston
I was drawn to Ada’s ass and waist! I zoomed in multiple times like the pervert I am and I was convinced that Ada was the girl I wanted to spend my time with. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc was quite helpful in the whole thing. They made most of the arrangements as I sought not to be involved- I value my fucking privacy! We met with Ada at one of the hotels the agency suggested. I was never screened so much they normal hotels do, I guess they’d been told that I needed to stay anonymous and so I never had to show my ID. We checked in, conducted our business and off she was- sexually gratified and paid in full! It was a great experience for the both of us.
Review for Ella- By Smirch
Ella looks innocent, and somehow a little shy in person. Well, I loved that in her because it made me feel like I was experienced enough to teach her a thing or two. Admittedly, I read her wrong because the cards were turned and I was the one learning from the fountain of her “knowledge”. Ella is a totally different level of naughty behind closed doors- an excellent companion guaranteed to give you the best sexual encounter of your life. I don’t really know whether I should say this here that there’s a way she gives head, so damn effective- good luck struggling not to cum in the first 10 seconds, I know I managed 15!
Review for Aimili- By Steve
Aimili is an outstanding girl and I would definitely call her again! She is quite the entertainer and one hell of a conversationalist as well. I really enjoyed my time with Aimili!
Review for Sofia- By Randy
I was so comfortable around Sofia; I guess it’s because of her great personality. She is easy going and quite straightforward. She tells you upfront the things she is comfortable with and you can have a good time without stepping on each other’s toes. I really enjoyed the roleplaying bit; she made me experience so many fantasies I’ve been dying to try for quite some time now! I only booked her for a few hours because I wasn’t sure of the experience I was to get, plus I never wanted to be stuck with someone I didn’t fancy. Well, eventually I felt like I should have hired her for the entire day or two! It was really fun!
Review for Kayla- By Jim
Kayla is an outstanding model with every quality any man would be lucky to experience. She carries herself with dignity and self-respect you wouldn’t expect to see in an escort. She is strictly professional- she knows her place and she never crosses. She’s quite adaptive, I asked if she would be willing to be our third- me, my girl and her- she laughed and said “at an extra costs.” That was a yes and I’m gonna take her up on this someday! Meanwhile, she’s all yours- you’ll never be disappointed.
Review for Olivia- By Roy
I’ve always had a rough time opening up to a girl I like because I’m an introvert, and I wouldn’t take the risk to put my fragile self-confidence in the line. Some years back, a close friend suggested I try escorts which I did. I’ve had my fair share of disappointments during the time but Olivia was not in the list. First she’s drop-dead gorgeous with an easy going personality. She can engage in a conversation about anything, well except one about her private life. Olivia is damn good behind closed doors. I still wish it was possible for us to be exclusive because I felt that we had a strong connection in the few hours we spent together. I would jump on another opportunity to hang out with this model. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc must be proud of her!
Review for Madison- By Martin
It might be my first time using the services of the Asianparty Girl Escortnyc, but I know a good agency when I see one. This is about my fifth year using escort services. Believe me when I say that there are really crappy services out there, and finding one agency that actually cares about customer satisfaction is a huge deal! Asianparty Girl Escortnyc was quite efficient in arranging my meeting with Madison and for once I never feared for my money even when it was my first time hiring one of their girls. Madison was everything her profile said, plus the praise her agency showered her with. She was stunning, and had the best attitude for the job I never had an issue with her the entire time!
Review for Ada- By Luca
Asianparty Girl Escortnyc is the real deal when it comes to exemplary escort services around NY! It is the second time I’m using their service and I have never been let down. Well, the first girl I booked from this agency who was really amazing was already booked and so the agency gave me Ada and assured me that I will be treated to about the same experience. Of course, I had my doubts but by the end of the day I was one satisfied customer with nothing but praise to my girl Ada and the Asianparty Girl Escortnyc fraternity!
Review for Isabella- By Hope
I make it my habit to review every escort I ever experienced, and I have written pretty nasty things about mediocre services I received from certain agencies within New York and other cities. It was my first time with the Asianparty Girl Escortnyc and I kept my expectations at an average. Long story short, Isabella was totally worth my time and you can as well book her for a wonderful time. She is good with people; she even impressed me which is a big deal considering I have always had a terrible perspective about high-end escorts.
Review for Lily- By Richie
I always felt that escorts were glorified prostitutes who never have much to offer but mediocre services for very exorbitant rates. I must admit that I was wrong after trying Lily following a friend’s recommendation. If they are indeed escorts are over glorified, it is because they are different and worth every praise that comes their way. Lily was good influence to my earlier misinformed prejudgment against escorts. She was hot, classy, and professional. She took her job seriously and she was genuinely concerned about my satisfaction. She was constantly asking if there’s anything she could do to make me feel more comfortable and a good blowjob always did the trick. I’ll be sampling more girls from Asianparty Girl Escortnyc and leaving my recommendation, but before that I need a second round with Lily!
Review for Leah- By Frankie
This agency is dope! My all experience with them was smooth; I picked my girl Leah, I was told the earliest we would meet, I picked a place I was comfortable with and Leah was there on time. She’s a neat woman, mature but very playful when you break the ice and she can freely open up. We laughed, debated and had a generally good time. I will love to see Leah again soon!
Review for Sofia- By Blake
I will visit this agency again and I’m likely to recommend it to my friends too. They paired me with Sofia and frankly, she is not what I expected! Like any normal person that has been bitten once, I was shy and skeptical about this pairing but I followed through regardless. Sofia opened my eyes to so many sexual kinks and even took the time to actualize some of the fetishes of my youth. It was a pleasure spending the night with Sofia!
Review for Ada- By Elliot
Today would have been my 7th anniversary with the girl I thought I would walk down the aisle with before she ditched me for some dumb motherfucker. I’m still hurt, and so I felt like a sexy Asian Escort would make things better now that it was an anniversary I was used to celebrating before it turned into a bitter memory. I picked Ada for the job- when we met I told her my story and she proposed we do the things that the bitch that walked away never had the guts to. Long story short, Ada gave me my first 69, and generally the best sexual experience of my life. I’m convinced I got her orgasm as well. It was awesome!
Review for Betty- By Jake
Betty is a wonderful girl anyone would be lucky to have! She gave me the best girlfriend experience, we met my sister in Manhattan who bought the lie that she was my girlfriend of 7 months now and we are planning to move in together. I had to cut the meeting short because they were getting along so well and I feared they might organize a girl’s night out which I was pretty sure I was going to be billed for it. She’s a nice girl, so easy to be a round, she made me feel good the whole time!
Review for Abigail- By Ryan
Abigail is the most beautiful and easy going Asian chic I have ever met and I really wished we met under different circumstances. I enjoyed her company more than I thought I would. She is respectful, professional but naughty in the inside. We had a wonderful time in my bathtub although we spend a great deal of time just seated there and savoring each other’s naked bodies. It was blissful and I would totally do it again!
Review for Alani- By Jasper
Asianparty Girl Escortnyc is really consistent in its service delivery! 3 months ago I had one of the best escort experiences courtesy of the same agency. Now her I was enjoying the company of Alani, inarguably one of the agency’s best models if you ask me. Alani is lewd and can build up such an appetite for sex if you are good at what you are doing which is easy because she’ll give you some practical hacks if you ask. She is a private person who says little about her real self. She might come out as a little shy but that quickly fades when the door is closed from the inside. She is a terrific model you should try her!

Literally.

Elle Fanning - June 20, 2017
Conan appearances:
January 13, 2017
1920′s Undergarments (link)
When she starred in Live By Night, a film set in Tampa in the 1920′s, she had to wear very authentic clothes down to the underwear and socks.
Fanning said the underwear had a musty smell that was reminiscnet of ‘20′s apparel.
Lying (link)
In the film 20th Century Women, Fanning’s character was a woman named Julie who lies a lot.
Fanning herself is a very honest person.
Sometimes when she is in Ubers, since her account is not under her real name and the drivers hardly recognize her, she gets to make up her life stories.
Runway Walk (link)
In the move Neon Demon, she played a runway model, so she taught Conan how to do a signature runway walk.
According to Fanning, as a runway model, you can’t smile or swing your arms, and you have to arch your back so that your legs look longer.
December 19, 2011 (Fanning’s First Time on Conan)
Growing Pains, Start of Acting Career, and Favorite Food (link)
Fanning came on the show during her school’s winter break (she was 13 at the time).
Fanning discusses her major growth spurt, in which she grew seven inches in a year and experienced serious knee pain because of it.
Her first acting debut was in a commercial for Smuckers when she was 2.
During the shooting of her Smuckers commercial, she was supposed to spit out the snacks, but she ate them all.
After Conan reveals his obsession with cheese, Fanning admits that her favorite food is Cobb salad, even though she mostly likes the bleu cheese, bacon, and chicken.
We Bought a Zoo (link)
One of her first movies in which she has a love interest.
Her character, Lilly, doesn’t have many friends because she lives in a zoo.
Since Lilly’s best friends are animals and she understands animals better than humans, the We Bought a Zoo director instructed Fanning to approach her love interest like he was a lion.
Other talk show appearances (sorted in chronological order)
Jimmy Kimmel Live! (June 20, 2017)
College (link)
Fanning decided not to attend college after her high school graduation, but many people from her class went.
Her friends who went to college think the idea of her attending is hilarious because she is so oblivious to many nuisances of college life (i.e. living in a dorm).
When she shot Beguiled in New Orleans, she got to visit her friend who was attending Tulane.
The friend she was visiting had hit his head on a post and busted his head open the night before she came, but he was still planning on going out the next night.
Easter Traditions (link)
Fanning still lives at home with her parents, but she hopes by next summer she will have her own place.
If it were up to her mother, Elle would live at home forever.
Her family recently sold her childhood home, and the family who bought it purchased most of the original furniture as well.
Fanning reminisces on a couch that had never been sat on and was always in plastic wrap, per her mother’s request.
The first person who ever sat on the couch was Robert De Niro when he and his family came over to the Fanning house for Easter.
Her mom ordered pizza for the De Niro family, but once they got to the house, the De Niros said they had already eaten.
Her family has an Easter egg hunt every year, where they hide regular Easter eggs along with a golden egg that is filled with money.
When Robert De Niro’s family came, her mother insisted that Fanning let De Niro’s kids get the golden egg.
She also mentions her film Beguiled, which is set in the Civil War.
Colin Farrell is the only man in Beguiled, which made him the object of affection in the film.
Because he was naked in many scenes, he had to watch his weight, which caused him to become obsessed with hamburgers.
One day Fanning saw Farrell looking at photos of hamburgers on his phone, and Farrell made Fanning give him an in-depth description of a hamburger she ate.
Sofia Coppola, the director, put together a sexy calendar of Colin Farrell gardening.

During the 2016 summer, Fanning went to a Beyoncé concert with her friend and ended up getting seated next to Channing Tatum and his wife.
Fanning asked someone to take a picture of her and her friend with Channing Tatum in the background, but it was a very blurry picture.
Fanning is also a huge fan of Survivor.
Fanning saw Jeff Probst at a coffee shop and sent a picture of him to all her friends.

At the time, Fanning was starting her senior year in high school.
Fanning mentions the privileges of being a senior, including sitting on the senior patio, Senior Prank Day, and Senior Prom.
Elle mentions that when Dakota was a senior, for Prank Day, she put Vaseline on all the doorknobs, tied all the lockers shut, and stole all the scissors, so no one could open their lockers.
Fanning recently got her senior photos taken, and she got the “beauty shot package,” which involved sitting in front of a background of fake blue clouds.

During the filming of Beguiled, Fanning says she became very close with Kirsten Dunst, and that the two of them would have sleepovers.
The whole Beguiled crew secretly recorded a song from Hamilton.
Fanning had to take etiquette lessons for the film, which taught her that the proper way to move your skirt is by swooping it to the side and holding it with your right hand so that you didn’t show your ankles.
Fanning loved the fashion in Beguiled, and she said it resembled fashion from the 1970s.

Fanning mentions that her character in Beguiled was especially promiscuous because she wore her hair down and occasionally showed her corset.
Her character in the film was becoming extremely bored in her all girls’ school, so when Colin Farrell shows up, he gives her an “awakening,” mainly because she hasn’t seen a man in so long.
The etiquette coach hired for the film taught them the proper way to pass a pitcher.
For the film, she had to be trained in dance from that time period.
Fanning also mentions that the directing style of Sofia Coppola (who according to Fanning is a close friend) is very in-charge, but in a soft and elegant way.
In the film, Nicole Kidman plays the “head mistress” of the all girls’ school.
Fanning mentions that Kidman had an intensity on set that made everyone stand up straighter.
In one scene, Colin Farrell had to frighten all the women, and he really did in real life because his angry character was so different than who he was in real life.
Farrell’s character is a wounded Union soldier, who gets taken in and nursed by this household of women, despite how much trouble they could all get in.
Fanning had to wear a corset every day for the film, and had to be re-measured for the corset daily as well.
One of her favorite scenes of the film was when the women allowed Farrell to join them for some apple pie.
The film was only shot in two locations, one of which being their house.

One outfit Fanning cannot live without is Dr. Seuss pajama bottoms and a red Gap shirt that she got in trouble for cutting.
Fanning shares some of her beauty tips, which include protecting your skin with sunscreen and refraining from plucking your eyebrows.
She always keeps lip balm and mascara in her purse, especially considering her eye lashes need to be “tamed” frequently.

Since Fanning is trained in ballet, she demonstrates how to do a pique turn.
One of her tips is to pretend that someone is pulling you up by yanking on your bun.

(This clip starred Dakota Fanning as well.)
Elle hasn’t seen Hamilton, but she believes there should be a Hamilton-inspired musical about Amelia Earhart.
If Elle could spend a day with Beyoncé, she would go road tripping and be beekeepers together.
One of her favorite movies is Grease.
When she was young, she would watch Grease and act out all of Sandy’s lines by herself.

Fanning has been “sensitive lately,” which she knows because she’s been crying while watching Say Yes to the Dress.
Another thing that makes her cry is watching old clips of her sister Dakota as a young girl on talk shows.
Elle has a crush on Leonardo DiCaprio, so when she saw him at the Met Ball, she desperately tried to get his attention, but it didn’t work.
Her sister, Dakota, is friends with Katy Perry.
When she played Mary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein, in a movie, she had a scene where she had to make out with her husband.
When her husband in the film took off her top, her corset was exposed, and she mentioned that a lot goes into making a corset look good on camera (predominantly chicken cutlets).
She also loves Cate Blanchett, and has starred in two films with her (once as her daughter and once as the younger version of Blanchett’s character).
