She only knew what happened through the second hand recounting of the event that led to Leo’s disappearance. The frantic, desperate energy of Donnie, the genuine shock and worry on Mikey, and the horrible, crippling grief on Raph. She hadn’t seen him like that since… Well, yeah, since the invasion. And that was… shit, five years ago already? Almost six, when she counted the months ahead, and the reminder sat in her body like a weight. What made Leo snap like that? How long had he fooled all of them into thinking he was better? He’d been such a good leader for years, balancing his usual silly flair and the responsibility of keeping everyone safe. The conclusion she kept coming back to really unsettled her, so she tried to ignore it. But, here they were, just over a year later, and she didn’t think she could ignore that conclusion anymore. It blared loud and clear, like speaking through a megaphone directly into her ear. Leo never got better. He just learned to hide it more efficiently.

Solar vs Eclipse

So today's episode was very fun and brings attention back to the fact Eclipse V3 was made from Solar's code. It raises the question: Is this Eclipse better because of Solar's unique code? The short answer? No, not really. The long answer? They're really not different enough for Solar's code to change Eclipse in a way any non-Solar Eclipse could have done themselves. Wanting to defend Earth is not part of Solar's code, wanting a family more is not part of Solar's code, hell being nicer isn't even part of Solar's code. What does Ruin actually say turns Eclipses into Solars? "[Eclipses] didn't try to talk even a little bit... you went to hatred and vengeance almost immediately. You know what Solar did? He took over Sun and demanded answers."

This is not Solar being nicer, it's not Solar lacking anger at his treatment (hell if Moon putting up a mental block for the killcode he locked away is just as much as a constant then Solars have the spite to break through it without a Bloodmoon), it is the slightest difference of communication and restraint before diving into plots and revenge. A relatively small change on how he approached the situation, which leads to a domino effect of his treatment then on which is really the thing that made Solar into who he was today. Solar's code didn't make him nicer, an Eclipse being able to communicate in a productive enough way to appease their anger and be offered a place in the family very early on made him nicer. It's a difference in situation, not a major code difference.

So yes, if anything, Solar's code maybe gave Eclipse some more restraint. But this change is minuscule, Eclipse clearly is not happy about holding himself back, his ass still sucks at communicating, and it's not a change that Eclipse couldn't naturally go through himself! Especially in his current situation. Ruin says so as well that Eclipse could just have realized this is a better action to take on his own. So why did Ruin talk about it so much if it very likely doesn't matter? Probably to fuck with Eclipse. I think it's pretty clear that Ruin doesn't like Eclipse very much, and he's already having an identity crisis about being a copy. Throwing in the idea that he is even more of a fucked up copy than he realized with traits that could "only be because of Solar" is gonna make it even more messy. But all this is just my take. The show could very well go ahead and run with this Eclipse being better because of Solar code, but I'll just politely ignore that for multiple reasons.

The relationship / dynamic between TSAMS Sun and Solar is so important to me I'm going to explode like you're really just going to drop the fact that Solar's mindscape is literally shaped after a scene from Charlie and the chocolate factory not because he likes the movie (well, he off handily comments on it 'I did like the mike TV section I guess' but last part comes off as him trying to justify why his mind is based off of it rather than him actually confirming that he enjoys the movie) but because he watched it with ,assumedly, his Sun?? Solar doesn’t specify which Sun he is speaking of (technically, he normally does clarify if he's talking about his home dimension so he's probably talking about our Sun rather than his but let me pretend)

Also, personal head cannon for why Sun hasn't really been around on TSAMS since Eclipse came back is because Solar would never forgive himself if he even let the possibility of his brother/cousin getting hurt by himself happen again. Solar has already expressed guilt about how he believes his Sun’s fate is his fault (which it totally wasn’t!! His Sun knew the risks and chose to put himself at risk for Solar’s sake, which honestly shows how close they were that they’d both sacrifice themselves for each other), there’s absolutely no way he’d let another Eclipse hurt a Sun. Like Solar would have literally sacrificed himself for the chance of his Sun getting better as seen back when Eclipse came back the first time and Moon wanted to blow him up with the satellite where he only asks Moon to try to fix his Sun in return for him litterally dying (Which I'm pretty sure Moon never does??) and the fact that he was (sort of) willing to have his original body taken apart by his Moon in the hopes that his Sun would be able to use it

Sun and Solar rarely have one on one interactions (honestly, the only time that really comes to mind is the candy corn video but even then Solar was sort of forced into that situation as he probably wouldn’t be able to get out of the day care without getting eaten or something lol) which I personally think is because of Solar’s guilt, whether it’s because seeing Sun reminds him of his Sun and what happened to him or if he feels like he doesn’t deserve to be friends with Sun after what he feels he did (which could also be why he distances himself from the rest of the family by making himself the ‘cousin’ even though the others see him as close, Moon calls him 'family' when he gives Solar his house address (which is obviously very important and personal information, showing how much he trusts him) and Earth and Lunar list him as their ‘sibling’ in their tier list video) or both

Micah had been most looking forward to the solar eclipse , yet , the fact that Warlock decided to take partnership them a day before it happens , it felt like a wish coming true as a bliss . Micah doesn't think it can get better than this — to have a special moment with one like Warlock who never had anything like this unalone . Micah feels honored to be the one to have it love ⅋ appreciate the celestial more from their all astro ardor .

it's kind of heartbreaking to think that the only reason eclipse cares any more than the previous versions of himself is because solar's code is embedded within him...were it truly him, he wouldn't have changed. it's only because of solar's code that he's only slightly better than his predecessors...the only reason he entertained lunar's attempt at reconcilation, the only reason he spoke with earth...
