just a thought but smth LAUGHABLY funny is a very bitter neuvillette. since he’s in a very high position of power, his words might even be law itself atp, so imagine him as your loser bitter ex.

trying to execute this can be silly—bc who’s willing to go that far to spite someone’s ex? neuvillette probably would. bc you see: he cherished you so much. he was willing to grovel for you, disregarding his status and his character. you’ve seen it all, him breaking his cold mask. beneath it all, is just a very clingy and obsessive man. so once you left under the pretences of him being “too overbearing, it was suffocating you,” he let it go quite well. you thought he’d argue with you on it (as he would usually do) and even forbid you from leaving. but nay, you left him the next day with his head hung low and a look of defeat shadowing his face. it felt like mutual acceptance for both parts, it was hard of course, but at least you were glad neuvillette didn’t react harshly against you.

give it a month, not too long, until you realise that you’ve been laid off. quite harshly. you had a pretty stable job with good income. suddenly your boss sends you a letter one day out of the blue. your boss says you’ve been fired. why? you asked. didn’t say much. ok, maybe it’s time to go find another job. you do, only to end up being turned away from every single one you’ve applied to. have you been blacklisted? what did you do exactly for the entirety of fontaine to completely shun you away?

you’re low-key struggling with your income. the place you were staying at, you’re on the verge of being kicked out because you’re behind payments. you might as well flee this city altogether, but you really don’t want to give up since you’ve lived your whole life here. you keep on pursuing, finding any place willing to take you in. unsurprisingly, you’ve met a dead end. you’re teetering the edge of snapping so you wonder, has it something to do with your records? because as far as you know, you once had a good job that you got all by yourself due to you track record and lists of achievements. not a single blemish, you think, is on your track record. you were once well respected and regarded by peers and acquaintances alike, but now? you are nothing but a mere ghost to them, completely forgotten. so after much contemplation, you’re seizing to get your hands on your papers and records. were you that unqualified?

until one day, your questions were answered. there was a loud knock coming from your door. it was your last week living at your house, so when you opened the door to welcome the government officials at your doorsteps, they eyed boxes behind you. the space behind you was barren and it did not feel like a home anymore. there’s a sullen look on your face, so with a sympathetic sigh the man in front of you stated his reason for coming here. “we have a warrant out for your arrest.”

it rushes out like a wave that smothers you. a warrant? you haven’t done anything unlawful, you’re sure of it. but now as you bask in this dreadful situation, is that why your life has slowly fallen apart? there’s no way, no way that’s true. what crime did you commit? did you do something awfully criminal or something completely small that the laws of fontaine has harshly persecuted you for? fontaine has always been strict in that regard. “what for?” you ask, it sounded like you had an entire list of crimes you were hiding, yet you had a look of genuine surprise and confusion. “multiple, actually.” the man responds. ok, now this is getting really weird. he asks if you’re willing to come with them for questioning, maybe discuss about it more thoroughly, perhaps it can answer some of the questions frantically falling out of your mouth.

you come with them, under arrest currently, as they have you transported to some kind of holding room. you’re now scared shitless, wondering what possibly could you have done wrong. you’re praying to archons that this was all just a dream. you’re life was already going to shit, but now? you’ve completely reached your breaking point. all in a span of a few months where you were laid off without any explanation, blacklisted from every place apparently, and as of last week you were packing up your things to leave your home without even knowing where to go. now, you just found out you had not one, but MULTIPLE warrants. you started laughing, quite uncomfortably, at yourself the more you pondered. the echo of your lonely laughs laughed back at you as you stared across a wall as it all slowly melted into a choked sob. what were you going to do now?

before you could sit in silent reflection any longer, the door next to you creaked open. you turn to look at who it was, expecting to see an investigator or maybe even a lawyer, but your face fell the moment you saw who it was.

For a moment, you vacillate between who to be angry at ; him, the corrupt world or you. If the universe had at least sent a sign a month prior, your litany of curses could've been directed at the culprit instead of your fate.

“I should've known you were up to something when you didn't retaliate, when you just let me go like that, I should've...I..”

At this instance, vehement words threaten to spill from your lips as well but a fraction of what remains of your sanity makes you hold your tongue as the gravity of your situation settles in, only a croaked why escaping past your throat. It must've been pitiful, because Neuvillette's smirk falters and straightens into a thin line. One gloved hand takes a tentative hold of your wrist still clinging to his clothes and you hate how familiar his touch feels.

“Do you wish to know why?”

The offer entices your head to rise again, you take a shaky inhale and the Chief Justice proceeds according to the cue.

One of the lamps illuminating the room flickers off, that little sound bounces off of the walls and fills the deathly quiet momentarily. Fury turns to confusion and then disbelief. Your fingers slacken and this time, his hand tightens around your wrist.

“You're insane.”

Neuvillette's head tilts in inquisition, a wordless encouragement for you to continue.

“You abused your power, had me fired and blacklisted from all the working environments of Fontaine, soiled my reputation and attached false crimes to my name.. because you love me?”

Your free arm reaches for the judge's collar and yanks him closer, a grunt escapes him but he makes no further move and it unsettles you. For such an offensive action, you'd expected a nasty glare at the very least ; while that would've been scary, it'd still make more sense than the neutral expression on his fair face.

“Yes, is this not what is common? You told me yourself that you do everything within your power to hold onto the person you love.” his nonchalant answer has you let go of the fabric hastily, backing away as though you were faced with an alien instead of a man. Neuvillette never relinquishes his hold but a sigh does escape him at your behavior, a somewhat normal reaction at last.

“I once praised your stubbornness as your biggest strength but do you not see that at this moment, it's your greatest weakness? It's holding you back from rewinding everything.” the judge leans in and you lean away til your back hits the seat, he pins you by your wrist.

“I promise all will be resolved, no one in the entirety of this nation will utter a word about this, everyone will behave as though nothing happened, that this was just a tiny lovers' quarrel. All you have to do is say yes.” Neuvillette's white locks tickle your skin, his voice turns hushed in utmost secrecy and his breath fans the heat blossoming across your neck.

You want to push him away, you want to recoil from his proximity and you want the earth to split open and swallow you whole. His free hand takes your chin and forces you to face the tempest brewing in his eyes, the intensity pushes you to break and to comply — you don't want to comply or to say yes. Because you know what happens if you do, it's the exact suggestion he'd whispered before your engagement but it was different then. Back then, you'd known you could back out and that's why you'd been worriless. You could deny him now as per your sheer pertinacity as well, but Neuvillette makes it clear that all that'd do is making the path to the inevitable more painful.

After all, the waves never offer consolation to the ruined sand-castle, they only wait until they can destroy it again.

oh i didnt really explain why this kinda behavior is homophobic as well. BUT when dnp who are now publicly out, have been very open about how much they mean to each other, have lived together since dan was in uni, have worked on nearly every project together (even in solo projects the other would help out behind the scenes), have a clear on camera chemistry together, had co-parented a fish, a pigeon, and several houseplants and possibly plan to get a dog or other pet in the future... suddenly it's wrong to assume anything.

So this summer, mysterycharacterbracket was confirmed to be transphobic and pro life. They deleted all of the posts about it. But there are eye witnesses and screenshots of the things they said here, here, and here

Well I’m going to bring up that conversation again. I have a second poll account @dumbass-duo-showdown, which between may and September. Had two homophobic and transphobic accounts interact with me, the first one is called @/mysteriesofmilo I guess it was because I had Dofenshmirtz in the bracket (it was a dad bracket). And for pride month they reblogged a post I made with a Bible quote going “pride goes before the fall”. They actively knew I had character from media with lgbtq characters (dream daddy, sailor moon, ok-ko, psychonauts). I even pointed it out to them.

Well after the rebranding, I went “hey, I’m bisexual and a trans ally. So I don’t want you to be you know a bigot around here” then a new account came, called @/ireblogthetruth. IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO TRANSPHOBIC MATERIAL JUST BLOCK AND REPORT THAT ACCOUNT. DO NOT EVEN TRY TO LOOK AT THEIR STUFF. Saying some extremely transphobic stuff and telling me to find Jesus. Actively approaching someone who says they’re safe for EVERYONE and saying bigoted stuff followed by “Jesus is always there for you” is rubbing salt on the wound. Luckily enough my mututal came to my defense to help me and I ended up blocking the account.

I blocked all these accounts. But well I still check up on them. I just don’t want them to interact with me.

I’m now entering speculative territory. Everything i say might be false. But that doesn’t mean that they are piece of shit humans. Block them and report because we can’t have someone who’s so transphobic on that app.

Look at the pfp/header. It’s the same owner probably. Mysterycharacterbracket and mysteriesofmilo might and probably are the same person

I am pretty sure Mysteriesofmilo and ireblogthetruth are the same. And I do have some proof outside of the headers. First, they @ed my second poll account and not this one. Second, ireblogthetruth are very much with TERFs on the whole transphobic thing. Actively agreeing with J.Ks transphobia while going “I’m not a feminist,” is something very common with right wing transphobes.

In a deleted post, mysterycharacterbracket went “I’m not a terf, I am not a radical feminist”

And in a now deleted post, when mysterycharacterbracket is asked about what happened. They start talking about their faith despite labeling trans people as mentally ill. Who else would uses religion as an inherent cure for being trans? The other account.

Who is pro gun? Both of them

Now, the mysteriesofmilo (and mysteriesofmarcy) is known within the Dampyverse Tumblr community for being a piece of shit. Saying transphobic stuff about the creators child.

Both of the accounts are aware that mysterycharacterbracket is blacklisted from tournament tumblr. So maybe that’s why mysteriesofmilo used third person pronouns to refer to them.

Because hey isn’t it a funny coincidence that there’s two transphobic, pro gun, Christians, who are both a fan of Marcy Wu from amphibia? ISNT IT!

To finish this off. Block all of those accounts and report. They have used transphobic slurs. We can’t actively have a rampant transphobe be on tumblr.

Since you're in your thirties, what was it like writing fanfic in the late 1900s?

I wouldn't know, I didn't start until the 2000s.

(side-note: this got rambly and really long because I'm on break and got all up in my reminiscence)

Even in the 2000s it was different. Posting without walls of tags so you had to rely on a good summary + hope for the best when jumping into certain things. Maybe you'd get a conscientious author who'd put warnings/kinks/squicks in an opening note, maybe not. Not every character would be tagged. You'd get author's notes in the middle of chapters (as in, in the middle of the story itself) where the author argues with characters' motivations or comments on them in icanhascheezburger-style texting speech. Song fics meant someone would randomly splice lyrics into the middle of the fic.

Sometimes you'd write for/post on a single-fandom archive, hell even single ship archives.

It was a wild time.

Sometimes those archives would gatekeep who could post and who couldn't, usually for editing purposes. At the very basic level this was probably a good thing for me since it meant I had to actually proofread, edit, and concentrate on the quality of my writing. However, in hindsight that was obviously wide open for abuse if you happened to get on the bad side of some of the beta staff for whatever particular site you used. Betas who were random people just like the writers, by the way. Betas who tended to be friends with admins for other sites where you could get blacklisted and never really know. You'd just get rejected over and over again.

What's funny is that I kinda miss single-fandom archives. At the same time they (perhaps counterintuitively) decentralized everything and made finding what you wanted nearly impossible. If you didn't like what was popular on that archive, you were usually completely out of luck unless you made what you wanted to see. That usually involved making a separate fic site.

Also, anyone that says "things are different now" w/r/t comment culture and such are usually wrong, but only in the angle they're approaching it. Comment culture is different, but people have always been stingy with reviews and critique and comments for as long as I've been posting fic �� the difference is that now when people don't like something they tend to just backspace out and move on with their lives. They might vaguepost on social media, or chat in private messages, or gossip in Discords, but back then people had no problem with criticizing a fic in the public reviews/comments.

A lot of people do not understand "don't like, don't read" these days, though. Which is hilarious considering how much we tag in comparison to even the 2010s. People are usually much more aware of what they're getting themselves into when they see a fic on AO3.

Thinking about Pinky and Hades those boys are so huge I wonder if I visited them if they would recognize me they would probably be pretty wild now though since they live a very free range life style with lots of hens. They probably have an exciting rooster life lol its such a shame White Toe passed away (taken by a predator) his owners loved him so much he would follow them around while they did chores. All of Scoots sisters still live with that family and they are all happy and healthy last time I heard.

Babybird and Nebby are still doing good with my friend and so is Karen. Karen wasn't my chicken for long but it's funny that her owner is insistent on keeping me updated and not her breeder. Karen is actually getting pretty old but doesn't really show it. Nebby had a sister named Celeste who passed away a week after her new owner had her and unfortunately that person got blacklisted since I believe it was mishandling that caused the death especially when she got nervous when I offered to take the body to be necropsied so far though that one person is the only person I have had issues with.

Oh Gizmo that "cockerel" I was going to cull a long while back was also bought by them but Gizmo is actually a hen she just crows and mates hens I kind of suspect she was intersex since her plumage resembles a rooster but she lays a green egg so who knows. Gizmos siblings went with a lady who bought my old coop off me and they are doing fine.

The various hatchery birds I have raised a few years ago are also doing well but unfortunately some have been taken by predators and by poor hatchery genetics Babybirds sister Sweetpea passed away from a sudden heart attack a long time ago for example and some birds I have also lost track of as one of my costumers had to sell off their flock due to very serious medical issues so that's unfortunate, they did go to local people as well so they are likely living a good average chicken life

Scoots daughters Lady Tide and Captain Flint died to a dog attack. It wasn't the owners fault it was a neighbors dog that was very large and very aggressive and also wiped out a lot of her very fancy birds.

Of course my serama I have sold are all doing well I don't think anyone has lost anyone and some birds are going on to make their own babies which is nice to see. Handsome little Behemoth and his ladies had some chicks in January and they were doing good last time they checked in. Hotdog and Frank are happy little house chickens who are very good broodies for their owner. I have posted Pegasus and Dragon a lot recently they are doing good to and are so happy with Smores.

The guy who bought the cull cockerel for his friend I think decided to keep that little cutie and wants another rooster in the future I guess that silly short tailed boy just has a lot of charisma haha he made someone who didn't believe in house chickens keep him indoors so he has something special about him.

I think it's so nice I live in an area with so many nice chicken owners who take good care of their birds I of course only sell to people who take good care but it's nice none of those flocks have had any serious disease outbreaks. I get pretty attached to the birds I raise as individuals, and I think of them as my friends when they leave.

HEAVILY depends on the trigger in question, the op, and the theme and context of op's page. There's also a right and wrong way to say it.

E.g. I run a rat blog. It's just rats, all rats, wholly centered on rats. Rats have funny tails, almost scaly-looking with a peach fuzz glow.

I could understand somebody being squicked out enough by it to avoid seeing rat tails.

But if they asked me to trigger tag rat tails, well... I could try, but that would be 95% of what goes on my blog and... at that point, it's probably best for the person to unfollow me.

I would fail to keep rat tails off that person's dash. I know my adhd ass. I couldn't keep up with tagging almost every post with a content warning for itself.

Of course I would want to-- I'd want Tail Squick to be able to bathe in the bliss of rats just like the rest of us... but tails just. come with rats

Tails are unavoidable on rats. If you don't want to see a prominent feature of rats, it's best not to follow a rat blog.

But I sure shouldn't go "no I won't do that<3" either.

Rather, I'd wanna say that I do not think I can do that due diligence, that I should not be trusted to do so. They can better keep themself safe from seeing rat tails by not having me on their dash because I would fuck up very often and put rat tails on their dash.

Another example: the word "queer"

"Queer" is not a slur and shouldn't be treated like one. Some people are upset by it, and it's okay to trigger tag it for them, just not as a slur.

I would feel for somebody who asked me to trigger tag q word or something. But I know that I wouldn't be able to fulfill it. I reblog queer stuff all the time because being queer is important to me.

It's not feasible for me to do the due diligence because of how much there is. I know myself-- I would forget constantly. It's best for someone who wants to avoid the word "queer" to not follow me, because I'm not conducive to avoiding it.

I would also Feel Some Kinda Way about having to blacklist my own identity (which is plenty erased) for someone. This is as much a "me" thing as being triggered by the word queer is a "them" thing.

We're both fully understandable and deserving of safe spaces, but our safe spaces aren't compatible. My safety is your danger, and your safety is my danger. We are best spending our time in our spaces that are separate from one another.

Best not to follow a queer person if the word queer causes issues for you, y'know?

Just... sometimes our safe spaces are not compatible with one another, and that's okay -- that's not a reflection of anybody's moral character -- and it should be okay for us to accept that we are in separate spaces and carry on separately, no animosity.

It'd been a while since I'd done a r-dblr purge (mark red and block if they are actively cruel to trans people within the first page of their blog. You'd think feminist issues would be the bulk of posting, it's r-dical feminism after all and all the issues are ongoing. BTW I don't block people for hating men, they have a right to vent and it takes time to understand the systems at play that do allow for decent men even if you're not ready to to partner with any cishet ones) I probably marked and blocked 150 today, many 18-24 years old, lots of them lonely.

Doing the scan of a blog to make sure I'm not marking someone who didn't get the dogwhistles in a bigoted post means you see a lot of the content they're angry about.

Straight Male performers aren't allowed to be shown as into their partner... when behind the scenes they get quite tender, briefly besotted with their partner when it's not an ego driven star.

I also have hard boundaries about what kind of porn a partner would watch. I pay extra for no slavery in my chocolate and expect a partner diligent enough to get their porn from people not getting boundaries violated or work injuries.

But there's no nuance to rdfm anti porn stances. They're going off trafficking victims and Linda Lovelace's speeches when sex work like marriage is a whole spectrum from a heinous crime to chosen job. And we have the ability to hear from all of these women. What they really want from their industry, from activists, from society at large. The in person full contact sex workers I've known were doing it so they could be present during the day for their children or get a higher education without their study time consumed by a low wage job. Another was seeking validation and briefly being loved, her rl relationships kept imploding because it was never enough or she'd push them to see if they'd love her anyway. That wasn't exactly sane. But you can't force anyone into getting meds and therapy if they're not ready.

There were articles about how marriage hurts women who must leave their family and join the husbands and instead of talking about the part of the research that showed that women who got men to move in with them were able to negotiate better work and pay equality, it was just desist and kill all men.

Funnily enough it's my "not really feminist", "don't like the term" , mum who originally sent me the study with a quote from Moses in genesis explaining Gd's guidelines "Therefore a man must leave his father and his mother and cling to his wife". Funny how many abramic religious marriages ignore that you can't be momma's boy and a husband and definitely not move your wife in with your folks.

Anyway that's this month's observations, those who actually did have 2nd wave posts on top of hating on transness are very young and are often starting out with the non black non queer reading from 30 years ago after a superficial lib fem alignment with zero reading. Often in college or just out of college having been 'peaked' against what they perceive to be mainstream feminism after seeing crime and inequality statistics. If you're interested in reducing terfs, a good place to start is outreach and local online bookclub where you can get the word of intersectionality and sisterhood out before the gcs groom them.

There is an initial curiosity, there is still that spark but it is being answered with unnuanced conclusions with simple explanations and "solutions" that shut down futher investigation.

There were also a couple of detrans afabs who will probably choose to be gnc or non binary or retransition when they're more comfortable with how they can be men. This is a systematic problem with trans medicalism that wants to stick people into binary boxes and insist they perform masc men and femme women. That's not a patient based approach and it's part of the conservative restrictions on the way gender care is allowed to exist at the fringes of healthcare.

Well, Fuck - alternatively: On the Death of an Actress

I’m a bit late to this party so forgive me for my lateness (the scandal broke a year ago), but I just found out about Zheng Shuang’s surrogacy scandal. For those who aren’t in the know, Zheng Shuang plays Weiwei in Love O2O, but all her works are blacklisted because after having two children through surrogacy, she attempted to terminate them through late-term abortions when her relationship with their father turned sour. As a result, all her works, including Love O2O, have been blacklisted in China.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m probably most well-known as an author for my Naruto/Love O2O Fusion fic, A Tiny Smirk is Devastating. I first fell in love with the story as A Slight Smile is Very Charming back in 2018, when I was getting into translate webnovels, then devoured everything about it, including the drama and the movie. I loved Yangyang in it, and up until now, didn’t have a problem with Zheng Shuang (although she gets panned as kind of flat as an actress, but like I thought she suited the Chinese Professional Woman id quite well). But reading this from a western perspective, especially one that has been in the CS/Professional working women POV - there’s several things about the story that rub me entirely the wrong way, so ATSiD is my way of restructuring the story a bit to adjust for the stuff I don’t like. Plus like, quite frankly, while I could see Sasuke overlapping with Xiao Nai really closely, I really wanted a more outspoken female character in Weiwei’s place as a tribute to all the CS women I do know, closer to Novel Weiwei or Movie Weiwei vs Love O2O Weiwei, and Sakura fits the bill quite nicely.

Let me be perfectly clear - I am 100% pro-a woman’s right to choose, because pregnancy has devastating effects on a woman’s body and psyche, and no one can be asked to give up their life for someone else. Zheng Shuang was not pregnant, and abandoning her children just because she broke up with her boyfriend shows callousness towards life that I’m quite frankly disgusted with, same way I would be disgusted with deadbeat dads. ATSiD is not an endorsement of her or her work as an actress. ATSiD is a tribute to an adorable, sweet, uncomplicated but also deep work that happens to have the misfortune of fostering a terrible human’s career. I choose to continue working on it as a tribute to everyone else, and to write a version where she doesn’t abandon her children >.>

I haven’t given up on ATSiD - I’ll be back to it soon. Just struggling a bit with nailing Sasuke and Sakura meeting IRL, because their dynamic is so important to get just right for the rest of the story to play out properly. This meeting is so crucial as a turning point from Online to Offline (Hence, O2O), in that it’s so awkward and funny, but also so painfully earnest, and I really want to nail that (Plus, muse decided we would publish SasuSaku Smut instead. And then against my better judgement, decided she wanted to do a ficlet challenge. To you know. Practice. Don’t ask me, ask the Muse).

So I’ll leave you with a snip from the next chapter that gives you an idea of why I’m struggling so hard with Chapter 34 of ATSiD (Under the jump) :) Note that this is a draft and not final, so don’t hold me to the exact wording

“OK, let’s go then,” Go? We can’t go! What if the real Meister shows up while I’m still dealing with this hidden camera nonsense?

(Flame Emoji) Worst Fandoms to write in and why? Worst characters and why?

//Hoo, I would not click the readmore for fandoms further below if you don't wanna hear my takes. A lot of graphic content warnings. Remember, blacklist 'spicy goopy' as I'm not gonna tag everything as I will be talking about pedophilia/r*pe and other really graphic things.

Worst Characters: Stella from Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss: you could replace her with a cardboard cutout for an abusive wife and you couldn't tell the difference. She's incredibly one-dimensional so far and is just a plot device for Stolas at this point. A shame bc she has a banger aesthetic and possible personality, she's an unfinished character, however, so my opinion may change overtime, but I'm honestly not impressed with her direction. The Designs of the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss Characters: a good portion of them look like sticks or their limbs, make them thicker. I just feel like... this is worth mentioning as I really do dislike the paper-thin style at times, as there is some 'thicker' designed characters but to me they just look normal otherwise than just paperthin which is a shame. As the characters do have good design concepts but are just so bad looking lol. Lapis Lazuli: Oddly enough, I did rp this character as well, but I just disliked how weird the fandom was with her at times or the writer for Peridot and Lapis Lazuli clung onto them and fueled the fire (Not Sugar, it was... someone else p controversial at the time but I forget who). I've considered taking her back up at times tbh, but eh, fandom dead and I don't think anyone would be interested at this time. Elder Maxson: Literally the worst character in the Fallout series that Bethesda ever conceived before Obsidian/Black Island Studios lost control. It is everything that is awful in another villain that Obsidian wrote and it was on purpose in contrast, as Elder Maxson was not intentionally a villain and that's what makes it so much worse, as he's so much dumber than his Counter Part Elijah who was just so good as a villain. So even if Maxson was meant to be a villain, he just feels like a copy of Elijah and... for some reason was portrayed as a hero. Ayano Aishi and her Mother: Written by a man who does not know how to write mental illness even if fictional and created a fandom that made them think they know what mental illness is/demonize or sexualize people with ASPD or ASPD-like qualities. David from Camp Camp: He was funny but often written in the way of being stupid enough for certain things to push a narrative or plot along, then smart at other times. Just inconsistent as a character but had a good concept. Daniel from Camp Camp: One-Off idiot that had a lot of potential squandered to put it bluntly. Alistar from Dragon Age: I think his emotionally charged actions make him such a wimp that after everything you go through together? As yes, you can keep him if you spare Loghain or w/e his name is, he gets pissy and leaves even when your teacher Duncan probably would've converted Loghain as a political move. I actually like him at first, but it kind of came out of left field for me that I couldn't convince him/explain my reasoning to spare Loghain. Garterbelt from Panty and Stocking: Weird dynamic, was a pedo and subtly... hrm, possibly racist at times with how he was portrayed? I wasn't too sure. I really hope he's different for the apparent s2 that's coming.

Worst Fandoms: Southpark: Edgy af, drama galore. Rick and Morty Pre-Smut Tumblr Ban: Yeah, the things I saw with people shipping Rick x Morty made me blacklist that tag and the most of the people with it altogether for how many pedos it had. Camp Camp: Also suffered the same problems as above for Rick and Morty but not as bad though also was a breeding ground of really toxic behavior. Warhammer 40k (Not Fantasy): These guys are literally 4ch*n neckbeards half the time, but they're a dying breed thankfully. Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss: I'd say it's probably where a lot of pedos, rape apologists and toxicity is rn in the RPC. Thankfully, anything pedophilic is mostly confined to discord servers I've noticed, but it does exist on here... at times. Dark Souls/Souls-Like Games: I've had some good experiences but a lot of the RPC in it aren't the type of peeps I'd hang around usually, v elitist. Some are cool tho. League of Legends: YEAH I WROTE IN THIS FANDOM, but god. One of the worst but also first experiences I had for rping. I was... an edgelord (granted I mucked it up even then as a joke) but people loved me and fed my ego in it for a good while which it really was bad for me as I was considered 'THE CHARACTER' rper of that time period which was really bad to fall into that mindset, granted I was 18 compared to being 29 at the time. It was probably my most successful blog right next to this one where I sat at around 1.2k followers before I finally moved in. I grew a lot from League and I no longer play it or write for it anymore... but I've considered maybe a few characters from it. I just have a lot of GOOD and BAD memories with it.

i think youd actually enjoy homestuck, the fandoms just a nightmare to be in and its . So Long . i dont think i ever actually finished it they were being so serious when they said it was longer then the bible. but once you get through the first couple of acts its actually ?? pretty good. eridan is spot on the type of character youd like i think. after doing some thinking hes also got a kind of alex g about him. he is the pariah kid lost in a game. hes going through his middle school codependent toxic relationship breakup the whole comic. hes a history nerd and its so fucking funny. if you ignore the jaw dropping things he had to do when he was barely a teenager hes just a stupid little guy. he actually roleplays. he is just suchhh a guy when you get past All Of That. definitely someone youd like. jade(introduced Wayyy earlier then eridan) is also a character i think youd like. shes vaguely mitskipilled and gets a dog motif later on. again shes a 13 year old who made bad decisions and hurt people but shes (thankfully) handled a Lot better by the fandom. im leaving it there before i spoil stuff for you GRAVE ! DOG !

Ive always been on the fence about reading Homestuck because I think it sounds genuinely interesting but the fandom just. terrifies me. Ive been in some shit and Homestuck has always been wild. also the length but I would probably just read it until I get bored. or I'd work on it slowly across the span of a year. if it's genuinely good at least in the first few acts I'll probably read it at least a little

eridan definitely sounds fun. middle school codependent relationships are emotionally destructive (personal experience) history nerds are lame and cringe and silly (personal experience) roleplaying was the peak of enjoyment in middle school (personal experience). peak character traits. also how many people did he mutilate bc I probably forgive him. takes a lot for me to not forgive a fictional character especially one who's just a little guyyyyy

Co-Mod: I’ve never been a fan of horror in general, but there have been a few exceptions.  Oddly enough, I wasn’t too fond of The Witch’s House, but there was another horror game made with RPG Maker that I found to be pretty enjoyable: Ib.  Which, as it turns out, was given an HD remake last year!

...Which, like many games, I still need to play.  😏

I can appreciate a game like that because it has a spooky/mysterious atmosphere that doesn’t go too heavy on the “freak the player out” factor.  Of course, I haven’t seen the new stuff in the HD remake, so I can’t say for sure if that’s still the case, but there’s a special place in my heart for the original game.

Oh my gosh, I only made that reference ONE time and it was used as a joke. I never made any indication that Phoenix would be like Dr. Cox if you read the tag RIGHT HERE. 

The only thing I did was ask if Phoenix would make a great Dr. Cox. That doesn’t mean I believe it. It only means I’m not sure. 

I only knew of that line from a video clip I watched on YouTube. When I saw this question, I thought it’d be funny if Phoenix said it. As far as I know, the context when Phoenix said that line and when Dr. Cox said that line are completely different. I don’t even think both were said that with the same facial expressions outside of sarcasm. I don’t know how you took me asking everyone if they thought Phoenix would make a good Dr. Cox to mean that I believed he would. In fact, I was answering letters from someone dealing with something similar and it was affecting how they were writing their letters. They’re better now, but that was the reason why it took me so long before I blacklisted the Hotti letters. I was using them as a scapegoat to distract everyone from going after someone else who had been going through a tough time irl, who was writing weird letters at the time.

Imagine Sokka daring you to ask Zuko out and him actually saying yes

"Sokka no I can’t" you cried as Sokka told you the penance of your failed bet.

You’d had a competition to see who could eat the most fire flakes and Sokka had won meaning he got to dare you to do absolutely anything... 

"A dare’s a dare y/n” Sokka smirked in reply “do you want to get blacklisted when i tell everyone you broke a promise" Sokka asked. You sighed "but Sokka...Zuko just broke up with Mai a month ago...it’s insensitive and insulting!". Sokka scoffed "pft if anything this is just was Zuko needs! Men have pretty fragile egos y/n so getting asked out by an attractive girl is always amazing for self-esteem". You frowned "but it’ll be so awkward!". "Nahhhh Zuko won’t tell anyone he said no, he’s thoughtful like that! And if it does become awkward then you can tell him it was a dare...after 2 weeks have passed". You sighed "you're really going to make me do this aren’t you?". Sokka grinned "what do you think?".

So you and Sokka made your way through the palace to Zuko’s study. Suki was on guard with Ty lee and Sokka smirked as you groaned at the small audience "Sokka i can’t!". "Y/n when i lost a bet and you dared me to put two fish hooks through my thumb again did i say i can’t do it?". "No....". You took a deep breath and stared at the floor "i was just...well i wondering if you...and you can say no of course...if you would like to maybe do something together sometime?". Zuko blinked "what? Are you asking me out on a date?". You nodded your head cheeks red "yes". Zuko sat back in his chair "wow i did not expect that...i had no idea you liked me at all". Sokka had told you you had to make it convincing or you weren’t playing up to your part of the deal. So you glanced at Zuko and thought about what you did like about the firelord. “I’m good at hiding things i guess but i mean...a lot of people like you and it makes sense". "It does?" Zuko asked and you nodded "of course, for one you're very impressive. Firelord and a talented fire bender. Not to mention you’re attractive and have nice hair...plus you’re smart and very kind. It’s actually one of the first things i noticed, how nice you were. I guess that’s the thing i like most about you, most fire nation people are guarded or cold but you’re down to earth and normal” you smiled before realising you’d gotten off-topic. You coughed nervously “so erm...yeah that's why i asked you out". Zuko stared at you in shock and you looked back down at the floor. "But i get you only just broke up with Mai...Sokka said one month was long enough but i wasn’t sure... but anyway if it’s not enough time or you just don’t want to go out with me that’s fine, I understand". Time stretched on and wanting nothing more to get out of the room your looked up "Zuko?". He blinked and looked at you "yes". "What are you thinking?" you asked and Zuko’s face softened in amusement. He smiled at you his whole face brightening and spoke softly “i just told you, my answer is yes, I’d love to go on a date with you".

You stumbled out of Zuko’s office and stood frozen in place. What had just happened? Sokka spotted you and yelled your name "y/n! There she is!". "She’s fine" Sokka said throwing an arm around you "now excuse us ladies but we’ve got plans" and Sokka led you away. He chatted happily about how great his prank had been and how funny it was. "I mean i’d have paid to see Zuko’s face! I bet he was so shocked....y/n why aren’t you saying anything, you did ask him didn’t you?”. You nodded your head "i did". "And did he react surprised?". "Very" you agreed and Sokka laughed "i knew it! Aww well no matter you’ve boosted Zuko’s ego after his break up so that’s good. Do we have to leave the fire nation now though so it’s not totally awkward between you and Zuko?". "I can't leave the fire nation" you said suddenly and Sokka paused "what why?". "Because i’ve got a date with the firelord this weekend".

"WHAT" Sokka cried. "I have a date with the firelord this weekend" you repeated and Sokka’s jaw dropped. "He said yes?". You nodded your head "yes...he said 1 month was long enough and he’s ready to move on from Mai". "Wowwwwww i did not expect this" Sokka blinked. "You didn’t expect it!" you yelled "Sokka i thought i’d be humiliated and then it’d be done, now i have this amazing guy taking me out on a date". Sokka paused "wait so how is that bad?". You frowned "because i lied to Zuko! This was all a dare and if Zuko ever finds out he’ll hate me!". Sokka grabbed your shoulders "hey don’t worry he won’t find out! We're the only two who know and i’ll never tell him". “But Sokka” you whined and Sokka rolled his eyes "okay honesty time! So i told you to ask Zuko out because the two of you have had hopeless crushes on each other since he first joined the group". Your jaw dropped and you stared at Sokka "i have not!". Sokka rolled his eyes again "y/n at the western air temple you were so obvious, the two of you would always end up near each other...you volunteered to show him to his room, you disappeared with him for 2 days on that adventure...". "Hey you had a field trip with Zuko too!". "But after yours" Sokka cried "you started it with him". You blushed and looked away "i’ll admit i’ve always found Zuko attractive but i...i never planned on dating him". "Well lucky for you i intervened". You shook your head but smiled "you said we both did..so you think Zuko likes me too?". "Well if the fact he said yes to your date isn’t enough proof...then YES! You must’ve noticed how awkward he gets around you". You paused “I...I’m usually wondering how awkward I’m coming across to him so don’t notice”. Sokka shook his head “and you didn’t think you liked him, y/n you’re hopeless”. You glared “watch it i’m still angry with you, you’ve got to help me not mess this up! You know I can’t be left to my own devices”. Sokka nodded “okay fine I’ll save the day again! We’ll go over where he’ll take you, what you can talk about, how you deal with him being royalty, the whole package!”. You grinned starting to feel relaxed “thanks Sokka”. “Well not everything mind you” Sokka smirked “I’ll leave the end of the night kiss for Zuko to demonstrate”. Your cheeks went bright red and Sokka burst out laughing. You reached to throttle him but he danced away from you and headed to the door “no fighting lover girl, training for your date begins tomorrow so get some rest and try not to dream about a certain fire lord too much okay?”. You threw a cushion at the door which Sokka just closed in time and shook your head at the situation you’d gotten yourself into. A date with Zuko who just so happened to be an insanely hot powerful world leader...Sokka had picked a really good dare.

can we very gently talk about call out posts / culture really quick?  not in a judgmental way, but in like a: i just want to pose a thought and explain why i’m never going to buy into it and why i wish it would become less of a trend instead of more of one? and i’ll add the  disclaimer  here: i totally get not wanting certain people around you for various reasons, that is all your prerogative. that’s your comfort level. but in emphasizing “your blog should be a safe space” we’re kind’ve losing sight of the fact that the rpc should also be a safe space, and as much as your comfort and safety matter, so do other people’s. and not just the person who hurt you, but the third parties and other mutuals and 99.9% of people who are not at all involved in any way in whatever happened. so, anyway here goes, read it or don’t, we all have different opinions or reasons, i just want to be heard:

people are allowed to change.  think back to who you were last year. two years ago. think about the stuff you said when you were seventeen, or twenty-one, or hell whatever age you were. current-you would probably cringe at the kind of stuff past-you had to say. because you grew. you learned. you had life experiences. in hindsight you have the freedom to be like “oof yeah that was not the best version of myself right there damn i don’t want to be like that again.” the growing trend of ‘here’s a 10+ page google doc complete with out of context screenshots that sometimes date back to like 2017 or earlier’ makes this kind of change impossible. because right there, you’ve just frozen a person in time, probably not at their best, removed any and all amounts of context, and put it on the internet and let other people judge it for themselves. 

so that leads into another point that i want to just kinda present to the community at large: the act of documenting behaviors and storing them for months / years at a time, in itself creates a super unsafe environment, not just for you, your friends, the people who have hurt you --- but also for anyone else that isn’t at all involved in whatever happened. like, for example, i like to think that i’m a pretty nice person. i actively try to be a nice person. am i sometimes not having the best day? have people definitely caught me in bad moments? oh hell yeah. but am i, as someone who tries really hard to be nice and welcoming, constantly thinking through every message i send to someone knowing that a) i could have a reputation that makes them read into context that isn’t there and that could contribute to them misinterpreting words i meant in a different way, b) very aware that every post i make, ask i send, message i send can at any moment be screenshotted and posted and taken out of context and either serve as someone’s only opinion of me or pile on to someone’s existing opinion of me? yeah. so in my experience, and based on people i’ve talked to, we now have this thing where you can be surface-friends wtih a lot of people, but if you want to survive in the tumblr rpc you should really only have 2-3 people that you really trust that you can actually talk about shit with. 

and lately i’ve been seeing a resurgence of posts on my dash about like “bring back xyz in the rpc” or “the reason the rpc is like this is because of xyz” and i both agree and disagree with a lot of this, but primarily i think the reason the rpc is Off lately is because everyone and their cousin has a DNI, which is --- again --- your decision and i understand and respect that, but while you know the context of every name on that DNI, other people don’t. and to be honest: other people don’t really care and honestly maybe they shouldn’t care. --- and don’t get me wrong, your friends should care if someone has hurt you. that’s important. but joe billy bob who just wants to write their character with yours is going to read through your rules, they’re going to see “do not interact with me if you follow with or interact with these people you’ve never heard of and if you want me to tell you why just message me” (which no one is ever going to do, i’m sorry to say). and say, joe billy bob also followed that other person because they were like ‘omg this blog looks cool’ --- now joe billy bob, who just wants to write cool plots, is suddenly the middle-man in some type of drama that they do not understand, and maybe they’re able to remove themselves from the situation, but even then it’s still in the back of your mind. 

this is getting long. it’ll be longer, but let’s take a brief break for me to remind you that in some cases, it’s definitely good to give your mutuals and friends a heads up when someone has done something really, really bad. like, remember x amount of years ago when some dude was like ‘i’m gonna make up a new person and say they died by suicide as a social experiment’ or ‘hey this person actively tries to force very triggering plots about abuse / rape / incest onto people and has been doing so for years and does not seem to change their ways no matter how many people try to educate them’ that’s shit people should probably know about. and it’s also okay ( in my opinion ) for your friends to be able to message you like ‘hey i saw you’re writing with x and i just wanted to let you know i had this experience with them’ if that’s something they feel comfortable doing. and if they are comfortable with you still having the autonomy to make your own decision regarding the person. 

i’ll be honest, for a second: i’ve been part of friendships and groups that have turned really toxic for one reason or another. a handful of times. there are probably people out there that are like “yeah this chick is really fake and manipulative and etc, i was friends with her back in 2019″ which, okay. yeah. i’ve definitely done shit and said shit that was not the most representative of who i want to be and who i want to become, and you probably have to. because we are human beings and we are a product of our social groups and the community around us. and you shouldn’t be chained to a version of you that isn’t you anymore. people change. they grow. you don’t have to like them, but you should respect that sometimes people don’t mesh, and that doesn’t mean any of them are bad people, it just means the experience was bad. 

a few additional notes i would like to make but i’ve already gone on way too long:

90% of the callout posts that i’ve seen and the DNI’s that i’ve seen can, in my opinion, be classified as a friend group thing. you were friends with x, x did something, now y and z aren’t friends with x anymore. pain is a very, very real thing and people hurting you should never be minimized, but at some point i just want you to remember that not every friendship is going to end happily, but both you and the other party should be allowed to move on and grow better, healthier friendships after. rehashing Friend Group Gone Wrong instances removes that ability for not only person x, but also person y and z.

you putting out a callout says just as much ( maybe more ) about you than it does about the other person. which sucks. because i’d like to think we all have great intentions, and i’m not saying that you should swallow your pain, but it might not be the kind of thing that impacts the community at large, and maybe you should try to find a better way of working through it with a trusted friend(s)

i’m going to be very real and very blunt on this one: literally no one cares. i say that with love. i’m good friends with people who have each other on their DNI’s. establish a baseline of respect and ‘i’m not going to say anything to them about you and vice versa because there’s no need for me to do so’ and move on. but seriously. no one cares. most outside people read callout posts because they like being in the know about the drama, not because they actually care. 

person a and person b who are mentioned in the DNI / callout aren’t the only ones who are going to be affected. your friends, your mutuals, your writing partners are now all put in a weird spot where you have to pick sides on an issue you know nothing about and shouldn’t have to know anything about. you’re asking people to choose sides on an issue they cannot fully understand, and that’s not fair to them or to you. and it drives great people away. and then we all lose out on having more awesome people in the rpc.

you’re entitled to your safe space, but this is a public platform and you are also responsible for maintaining your safe space. you shouldn’t put it entirely on other people to do that for you. you can block, blacklist, make up funny names for, or spitefully erase from your many anything and anyone that you wish. but you shouldn’t make your friends do it for you.

there’s always an inherent power imbalance when any kind of drama occurs between those who have more followers / friends / connections and those who do not. and the smaller blog is always going to suffer a little bit more because they don’t have people blindly coming to their defense. 

bad moments, bad experiences, bad decisions DO NOT equal bad people. 

allow people to make up their own mind about something or someone

anywho, if you read through this whole thing i think i owe you financial compensation. but also thank you for reading / listening / considering. even if you rolled your eyes through the whole thing like “stfu lia” that’s fine. i’m just presenting an alternative thought. i’d like to once again state: i’m not judging you if you’ve made a callout/DNI or if you’re on a callout/DNI. like i literally don’t care. and frankly, in my opinion, i shouldn’t have to. because i, and you, and your friends, and your mutuals, and your non-mutuals should be allowed the space to make up their own opinion and mind on something or someone without being told that there will be consequences if they don’t agree with you. set boundaries. communicate in healthy ways. you don’t have to forgive the people who have hurt or wronged you, but you also don’t get to decide that their actions make up 100% of who they are as a person, or decide that that is the only side of that person people should get to see.

'wah i don't like it when togafuka pops up when you search togami or fukawa' then blacklist the tag? and it's still funny when nae/-gami shippers get on tofu's case for togami treating fukawa poorly when togami treats naegi awfully too. at least togami never intentionally put fukawa in harm's way (dr3 doesn't count bc he knew she was capable of sorting that out). when she has passed out during ch3? sakura even acknowledges that togami knew fukawa was safe as there had already been two deaths. then he's like 'oh she's alive :/' AFTER. or during the explosion in ch5, he says 'oh she probably turned to dust' when he'd know she didn't bc he saw the body fly. he's just a dick.

and him revealing her secret in ch2? did he do it harshly? yes. but like... 1. it's chapter 2. and 2. he kinda needed to reveal there was a serial killer. he did not know fukawa and syo didn't share memories, so for all he knew, syo knew he knew her identity and she could kill him to keep it secret and get away with it. no one would believe him. he saw an opportunity and took it. (EDIT: Togami knew about Syo before the secrets motive was revealed. He didn't reveal it as soon as he found out. It was after the motive and the 24 hours limit, which put pressure on everyone, was revealed that he set up telling everyone. Again, he didn't know they don't share memories, so now to him Syo knows she has 24 hours to kill someone to prevent her secret getting out and who better than the person who already knows her secret?) was he mean? yes. but this was a situation about killing and getting away with it and he was up against a serial killer who could best him. even if she did get found out after, he would still be dead. and if you're going to use chapter 2 against them, you can use so much against nae-/gami.

togami gets naegi to open a door when hagakure suggests it's rigged with a bomb. togami tells naegi to his face on more than one occasion to die and that he's worthless. naegi often comes away from their interactions feeling psychologically drained/abused/shattered or w/e and in school mode, after spending time together, naegi feels like he has to prove to togami his existence can have meaning. that becomes naegi's purpose. naegi says he feels like they'd never be true friends and they were worlds apart after spending all the free times together. Do they become friends? i think so! but take that all into account. And notice I did not even go into togami bossing naegi around or some of the other shitty behaviour. in my opinion, this ship wouldn't and couldn't ever sail and be in character and healthy.

i'm not saying togami is nice to fukawa or fukawa doesn't overstep boundaries bc. they do. they also go through good character development (fukawa goes from wanting to depend on togami to wanting him to be able to depend on her! she fantasises about him calling her strong! she learns friendship+romantic love are both important and strong. togami learns to depend on others and let others depend on him. when he learns to not make light of people's emotions, one of the first things he does is compliment fukawa on finding a knife. in ch3, it's implied those two got up to something together, bc togami acts very strangely when he comes into the cafeteria with syo and what syo says about wearing red lingerie that morning is... hm).

there's just. so much to togafuka and it's annoying when ppl are like 'tofu sukc bc theyre mean to each other it's gross' especially when they ship something like nae/-gami.

EDIT: togami and fukawa also have several parallels/constrasts (birthdays, designs, how they deal and dealt with childhood trauma) and togami's character was adjusted/changed specifically to be someone that fukawa would fall in love with. so... yeah. it's funny they made togami's character less relevant to naegi's so he could be fukawa's love interest.
