For years, the nation of Veldant has been killing rabbits and has already left a large body toll. They have made it clear that they won't stop until they're all dead. The task at paw is clear, is it not?

Maybe you can live a little, too.

So this is going to be like an interactive comic/cyoa with at least one image per decision because honestly I really want to tell this story in some way and I think this would be an interesting medium for it. The only problem with hosting this on Tumblr is that it may not be its permanent home. Who knows thus far tbh.

Prologue

Start

Hello, and welcome to FairyClan!

For reference, I'm Bluey of @starmeadowsystem.

FairyClan is like your average Warriors Clan, but hopefully less cultlike and certainly more surreal and magical. I mean, just look at the name. It's FairyClan. Which has alllll the implications that fairies bring. Trickery, divine magic, you name it, we have it.

A few ground rules for interacting, though:

First and foremost, don't be weird. I think I'm like mentally 10-13 so please please pleeeease keep that in mind. You can expect violence you'd normally see in the books and not much else.

Don't be mean, either. Ableists, racists, queerphobes, you know the drill. I don't want to play with those kinds of people.

I can add rules at my discretion. It's my roleplay blog and I'm sticking to it. However, I'll only do it for clarification purposes or if something not technically covered by the rules reeeeally buzzes me off.

Complete Monster Near Miss: Genocide Route Clover from Undertale Yellow

Note: this looks exclusively at Clover's actions in a genocide run. @autisticsupervillain has looked specifically at player characters on the Evil Route of games before, so I see this as fair game despite TvTropes and the Fandom Wikis saying otherwise.

Qualifications

Heinousness Standard: Met.

They kill over 80 innocent monsters in order to achieve their goals, making them a mass murderer. This is not an overstatement. Their important kills include, in order, Dalv, Starlo, Ceroba, Axis, Martlet, and Asgore.

They tear up Steamworks infastructure, killing the sapient robots there.

After killing Martlet and learning about Flowey's true motives, they personally and brutally kill him as well.

After killing Asgore, they take the five human SOULS with them to leave the underground to rot.

Lack of Redeeming Qualities: No

Taken Seriously: Yes

Other Qualifying Factors: Yes

It's worth noting that unlike Undertale, the player doesn't exist as an entity in the game and Clover is a defined character, with the genocide run playing on the darkest parts of their specific vision of "justice".

Disqualifying factors

Their goals are mildly well-intentioned: to allow the SOULs to rest after being held captive for so long. That being said, they kill too many innocent monsters out of vengance for this to be considered a major prevention, which Martlet and Ceroba both call them out on.

They have a mild sense of honor, allowing Martlet to flee in Snowdin and transform on the UGPS Apartment Roof when it would be more practical to simply kill her.

I fully anticipated Those Four Guys (you know the four) to somehow steer the plot in a different direction after beating the Dweller of Woe, but for Erlina and Brugaves to be allied with them???? Like I understand their desire to be free and that was conveyed long before the twist came into effect but for them to revive the Dweller of Strife, the very thing they lost so many of their siblings to to destroy?

Note: I did make a CM near miss post for them, but I realized that there was a major facet of their character that I overlooked. That will be addressed now!

Heinousness

After killing Asgore, they take the five human SOULS with them, leaving the Underground behind with no governing infrastructure.

Inconsistencies

Their goals are mildly well-intentioned: to allow the SOULs to rest after being held captive for so long. That being said, they kill too many innocent monsters out of vengance for this to be considered a major prevention, which Martlet and Ceroba both call them out on.

They have a mild sense of honor, allowing Martlet to flee in Snowdin and transform on the UGPS Apartment Roof when it would be more practical to simply kill her.

What really keeps them from being anywhere near a CM, though, is the trauma they themself faced. Clover started out as a naive kid who tried playing the hero and getting in over their head, before calming down and living with Toriel. Then Flowey intervened, manipulating them into killing Toriel before watching them be killed by the monsters of the underground a countless number of times before Flowey tried something different. Clover doesn't necessarily remember these deaths, but it's clearly affected them to an irreversible degree. And they to some degree know that it's the monsters who killed them over and over and over and over. It's too hard to blame them for going down a path of violence with this in mind.

I'm sorry. I'm genuinely sorry. I saw this on my dash and I can't help but point out how fucking little I actually care about this. I love Sonic as a franchise. I really do. But I know full well Paramount is just a fucking Zionist copaganda machine. I think my disdain for the state Minecraft is in currently has inspired me to make an interesting little ttrpg.

The working concept right now is that you and a bunch of other randoms have been suddenly whisked away to this new world long after the fall of whomever was here last, starting with absolutely nothing and working your way up to being masters of this new world. The ttrpg is skill-based, with 3-6 stats (not including HP) and it likely uses a 3d6 dice system. There should also be a guide for procedurally generating a world, a description for each item, animal, and monster you'll encounter, with a guide on creating your own, and a decent mix of systems to work with that hopefully aren't too rules-heavy.

The working title is "Imperfect new Eden". This is only in the concept stage and I cannot promise it'll be made, but it's here alright! If you know me and do want to work on it, let me know and I'll consider actually making it lmao

Ngl I want Metal and Sage to have a sibling dynamic. Like they might not get along all the time but they're absolutely sisters. Sage would support Metal coming out as trans to Eggman. Metal would make Sage her second in command in her latest "overthrow Eggman and take over the world" plot. Sage flip-flops between sides before eventually settling on Metal because she's cool and they talk about girls together. I think it would be cool tbh
