I mean, the fandom shipped Steve with Billy in season 2. They killed Billy in season 3. And then we shipped him with Eddie in season 4 vol 1. They killed Eddie in vol 2.

Being Steve's fandom assigned love interest will result in certain death.

stranger things s5 "eddie is kas" theory:

after they all leave, vecna stumbles upon eddie's body in the upsidedown. he thinks of how easily his bats were defeated and realizes he could use a lieutenant.

he was able to use his powers and the upsidedown to heal and improve himself before, and now he can do the same to eddie.

+ bonus points if he recognizes eddie as 010 and decides to use him as a replacement for 011; he thought he and 011 were going to rule the world together, but now he realizes he chose the wrong number...

What if he isnt dead dead. Someone pointed out he has tattoo of vecna being pulled by puppet strings. We know that 1 and 11 have pretty much the same powers. What if Vecna could bring him back but as his last General so to speak. But Eddie could eventually come back and help guide them in the upside down. IDK I am just looking for ways that Eddie could be in the next season. miss him already

Jasons bitch ass really did all that because he was mad that his girlfriend went to another guy for help. He doesnt have a brain cell why would anyone go to him with his loud wrong bitch ass. He did not suffer enough.

the duffers must not have dated anyone when they were younger because it feels targeted at this point any character that is looking forward to a date never gets a chance.

I wanna talk about Max.

Spoilers under the cut!

Oh, Max... She did not deserve anything that happened to her. Not a single thing. Not Billy's death, not her Vecna curse, and not what happened to her during The Piggyback. As a writer and also as someone whose favorite character is Max, her arc was the most unsatisfying one to me.

She deserved a happy ending. Everyone did, but in my opinion she deserved it most. And it's worse because most of her suffering wasn't even pictured but talked about, its revelation was psychological rather than narrative-driven. Vecna told us, the audience, that she felt extremely guilty about Billy. And the consequences of his death took a very heavy toll on her. We were even informed that she wanted to die!

As soon as she revealed her plan to be bait for Vecna, I was a little worried because there's always the very real possibility that they lose. And I understand sacrifices, you know, this show is full of them. Barbara, Bob, Hopper (we weren't told whether he was still alive, and the fact that he's in Kamchatka doesn't make it any less of a sacrifice), Billy. But Max did not deserve to be a sacrifice because, and here comes my opinion as a writer, her journey wasn't over. She even said it to Lucas "I don't wanna go, I'm not ready!"

And no, she didn't die, only was severely wounded, but none of that was worth it, because Vecna wasn't defeated. If he had been, that would've made it a valid narrative decision to have had her in the hospital like that because hey, at least they won. But now she'll either be blind or have her mobility impaired or both, and for what? The invasion of Hawkins still happened. Vecna still won. That's why this was deeply unsatisfying.

Once again, a story like this always aims to cause an emotional response in the viewer, I understand, but as I said it needs to pay off. Max's sacrifice was unjustified in much the same way as Eddies: they didn't win. When the producers said there would be carnage, I expected something to the likes of Vecna's incursion of Hawkins happening before the main characters could make a move, thus justifying many deaths since there was vulnerability, and also exploring El's potential after the Nina project.

Instead, we got an unfinished season. And I mean this literally: it's not that the show isn't over, it's that the main motivation for all storylines other than the adults' was Vecna, and he wasn't defeated. It is an unfinished season.

Really dissapointed in this one.

genuinely something so deeply fucked up about taking a character who already faced so much hardship, not only in this season but in her life, and making the decision to torture her mentally AGAIN and then physically injure her to the point her heart actually stops. What was the point of the scene in Dear Billy if that impactful moment was going to be wiped out by future tragedy for Max?? Where is the emotional resonance in this ending for her?? God forbid that the traumatized 14 year old girl is allowed to survive the season and be awake, aware and surrounded by her friends and family.

Don’t even get me started on the way people reacted to her literally on her death bed. No reaction at all from Steve, Robin or Nancy, no reaction to this girl being in a coma from Hopper and Joyce, no sign of her mother, barely a reaction at all from Mike and Will. It’s shitty fucking writing. I’m so unspeakably angry on her behalf. And this goes the same for whatever the fuck they thought they were doing with will’s plotline and Eddie’s. I don’t know how you can sit there and suggest that any of them had a fitting end to this season.

So assuming that this isn't just some stupid mistake (it probably is tbh), this means that Eddie is apparently seventeen despite being held back at least twice.

But how could this be possible?

My headcanon is that Eddie was originally a gifted child who burnt out as he grew up...

Him being a seventeen-year-old senior despite having been held back twice would make sense if he had skipped a few grades when he was younger.

Okay, I do not dare touch Stranger Things ships right now because the tumblr tags are scary. BUT! I am a firm believer that a ship preference should not pull down characters (when none of the characters involved in the ship preferences are terrible people ya know what I mean). I'm not explaining this very well, but I am still emotional after watching the episodes so leave me alone.

What I am trying to say is that neither Steve nor Jonathan are terrible people and assessing the characters from a ship standpoint can be separated from assessing the characters as characters. I love both Steve and Jonathan. I love how they operate outside their respective ships. Steve is an absolute king and whose character development is A+. He protects his friends, cares deeply, brings levity to dark situations, and is truly working on "crawling forward" and becoming a better man. Y'all know I would marry Steve Harrington so freaking fast it's not even funny.

ALSO ALONG SIDE THAT! Jonathan is also an underrated king. This man will defend his family and friends without question. He is so supportive of his brother and does not hesitate to not only protect, but to assure and comfort and be there for those he cares about. His fear of disappointing people is what often drives him to pour himself into caring for his family and friends. It also sometimes causes him to be closed off even from the people he loves the most because he is so petrified of driving them away or being abandoned.

To strip these two fantastic characters down to a ship war doesn't do them justice. And I feel this same way with most all of the Stranger Things characters, these were just the two that were on my mind after the finale. By all means, let your ships sail! I personally love multiple ships and would be fine to see any of them happen. I just also love these characters and love to cheer about their merits.
