For those of you needing a serotonin boost, here is Joe Quinn giggling like an adorable idiot for half a minute while Joe Keery talks about his/Steve's hair
Okay so since my other post kinda blew up, I've been seeing a lot of people come into my comments and messages about interview and article quotes, and all I have to say about that is:
I don't think we should be paying more attention to the interviews than to the actual content of the show. In interviews, the actors are repeatedly asked the same questions, and unlike the show, these responses are usually unscripted. There's a lot of pressure for the actors to remain vague and not give out too much information about what's coming next either, while still generating somewhat new answers for each interview, and since actual writing for s5 is not in progress yet, things are subject to change here and there.
Now I'm not saying we SHOULDN'T pay attention to the interviews, because I think that they can provide some insight on what to expect, but parsing them apart the same way we would the narrative construction of the show is not fair.
This is to say, the story being plotted and written, the subtext, the visuals, are all meticulously selected and screened, edited, and shaped to make a story. This is why they are up for grabs without "reading too much into it," because characters have set motivations and narratives have direction. Symbolism and word choice here MATTER.
Interviews are not thought out on the same level, so for everyone that's worried about ships based on what the actors are saying, I would take everything right now with a healthy dose of skepticism and a grain of salt.
