So wanted to give a shout out to Signature Fitness as they were my choice for a leg press, compared to many other, they looked to be a heavy duty leg press that would be able to handle my 600 lb leg presses and then some.…came in a super huge box that most people that would some man crate that I could just pack up Aaron and ship him out 😍😂😍 but the pieces had to unpacked, brought into house and taken to the downstairs gym. Once all items were carried down, bubble wrap was used excessively which I was happy for! The parts were very protected and were in excellent shape coming in from California. I started to lay out all the pieces and trying to solve the puzzle of putting it together. The directions? Not so good. They showed a hundred pieces in which wasn’t necessary as most of it was already put onto the major pieces. Once I had the base together, backrest and seat attached, and all the braces attached, the hardest part was putting on the foot press, which itself weighed about 250lbs…total weight of unit is about 550 lbs. This was my Thanksgiving Day project and it is completed. I used social media to communicate with them but was tough hearing back. Luckily I have been around equipment long enough to know the gist of it. No YouTube videos anywhere to explain the process so will upload what I have this weekend. Two weeks out. Only 14 days til I will be prepping the gear, going to sleep early and waking at 2 am to head to the mountain for my 12 endurance event the Summit Push. Which is the precursor to 29029. Training hard, everyday, and one rest day a week. Preparing mind, body, soul and just being present in the moment on the mountain will do so much for all of us that will partake in the event. This will break down layers, break down barriers, it will allow people to leave as a changed human being. Sometimes we are forced to change. Sometimes we seek change. Sometimes when we relinquish ourselves to the challenges around us we find we find the change we need. I know I will be changed by the mountain and I open my mind to this challenge. My training consists of runs, followed by hikes. Weight training followed by runs and hikes. Wim Hof breath work. Meditation. My pace has increased in my fast runs and maintaining a steady pace at a 15-20% incline. First steps on the mountain will include a vertical wall being attempted at 4:30 am, with headlamp and gear on. Happy Saturday and happy to be back home after all the transport trips and back to train for Utahs IFIT hike ♥️ When I was at EWR waiting to board my delayed flight, I got an unexpected email asking if I was still interested in a puppy and that she has a female yellow available!!! I was so excited I was jumping around in line and getting some strange looks 😍 Did I say yes??? What do you think?? I said YES!!! It’s been a long 16 months since we lost Herkales and Sam…it devastated me to the core, which started my life into another journey. I miss them everyday, and one of the reasons I became a dog host so it would help me heal…I’ve been ready for some time but I wanted the same line as Herkales and Sam and found it in the most unusual way and my heart will be filled with LOVE once again! Every lab has their most unique personalities, and cannot wait to bring this girl into my life. Transformation Tuesday! Early to rise as usual…got my 2 hr hike in at 15% grade and a crazy sweat. Hiking boots and a treadmill making sure they are well worn in. Hiked in CT yesterday and today with Tommy Rivs in Bolivia-straight up and the views amazing! Cannot wait to get to Utah for the SummitPush! Will be an early am start. Need to be at base by 3 am and we start at 4:00 am for a 12 hr climb. Almost reminds me of the Dave Goggins 48 hr challenge when we workout every 3 hrs non stop. Training is strong. Keto is strong. And here I go again…life on the road can have its rewarding moments, but when ole mother winds begin to howl it can create havoc on flights and cause many delays…so here I sit as the EWR winds howl causing flights to be delayed…but eventually I will be on my way to see Sophia the kitty for her ride back to the north….in the meantime, training went well for the IFIT SummitPush today but I hit a slight wall as I was not hydrated enough…most importantly to do so when this 12 hr hike comes up. I get the question all the time, “how do you stay so motivated?” Unwavering Dedication. And the simple answer is, you don’t need motivation. It helps, yes. But it’s not necessary. What you need is discipline, and discipline comes from being completely dedicated to something. Having a goal, knowing your purpose, your why, and then sticking to it. So when motivation is lacking, discipline picks up the slack. And #1 is having mindset over physical capability.
