could u maybe make a batfam x male reader and where the reader is like trained to be an spy or something and their mission was to figure out what was going on inside the manor but they figured out to much and got roped into the batfams family
Oh shit. Poor reader... He is going to get roped in well. Also, sorry everyone for this being short and vague. School started about a week ago and I'm already tired. Haha...
Summary: (Y/N) is sent to find out what is happening in the Wayne manor for a mission. He gets to roped in.
Warnings:
Tumblr media
(Y/N) was still shocked at the mission he got. He isn't a stranger when it comes to infiltration and undercover missions, but this mission is on a whole a new level. The mission is about going undercover in the Wayne manor.
He had his fair share of undercover and infiltration missions, but he never had a mission of this type. It wasn't just a mission of few weeks, this was going to be take a very long time. Probably up to year or even longer.
He still doesn't understand what Bruce Wayne might hide in that manor of his. Sure, he is considered to be one of the richest and one of the most powerful people in the world, but still.
What type of information this man could have? More so, why are the kids thrown in to equation too? They seemed to be a happy family. He wasn't a fan of long term missions, he hated them with burning passion, but he didn't have any choice in the matter.
He takes what he is given and gets the job done as quickly as possible. You only say yes sir and go get ready.
The plan was for him to spend some time on the streets as an 'orphan'. It was a detailed plan. Every single possibility was considered when creating this plan.
One of the things in the spy business is that you can't get attached to people you are going after.
(Y/N) was going to break the rule very soon.
It has been 5 months since he infiltrated the Wayne manor. (Y/N) concluded pretty quickly that the family didn't have anything to hide. They are a normal family, with all the chaos that normally goes with it.
But what he didn't expect that he got too roped in. He got attached... The burden of why he was really in the manor was really weighing on him.
It felt heavy on his shoulders and he didn't know what to do now. He finally got a family, although through deception, but still, he finally got a family. He was alone in his life, but now he had a chance to be happy.
He was often told by his superiors that he had a natural talent for this line of work. It often grinded his gears when he heard it. Just because he was good at something, doesn't mean he wants to do it for the rest of his life.
He was in his room, sighing for the nth time. He needed to tell them. How was he going to tell them?
After another sleepless night, he ventured downstairs into the kitchen. He saw Tim alone, putting Red Bull in his coffee. They locked eyes for a moment and Tim pointed at his mug with his finger.
" Thanks. " (Y/N) mumbled, walking over to the mug.
" Is something bothering you? " Tim asked, raising his brow.
(Y/N) froze for a moment. Did they catch on? Is this a trap?
" No. " (Y/N) lied, taking a sip of his coffee.
" I don't mean to bother you, but you look like you aren't doing well. You can always come talk to me if you need to. " Tim offered and (Y/N) offered him a smile in return. It took some effort to smile genuinely, but he hoped that it worked.
" Okay. If you need me, you know where to find me. " Tim said, sitting down at the table. (Y/N) heard the others come in and he also moved to sit down at the table.
He tapped his fingers against his mug, feeling something weird. It was a gut feeling, something that came periodically. And wow, did come in strong now. Why would it come so strong now, he didn't know, but he knew that this going to be a hard day to go through.
" (Y/N), are you okay? You look exhausted. " Bruce commented, looking at (Y/N).
" I'm fine, just some trouble sleeping. " (Y/N) said, eyes moving back down to the coffee. Bruce exchanged a look with others.
It was now evening and the others formed a plan. They were going to confront (Y/N) with the evidence. They noticed how he wasn't even trying to fish out information anymore. They knew that he was trying in the beginning, but they were feeding him false information.
But he didn't need to know that.
Not for now at least.
The dinner was over and (Y/N) was ready to go to his room. Bruce, however, wasn't having it.
" (Y/N) we need to talk. " Bruce said, motioning with his head for (Y/N) to sit down. (Y/N) listened. What was this about? Was it about something he has done with the boys?
About the time when they put glitter on Bruce's work suit? Or when they accidently shot the wall and covered it up with a random photo? Or was it about (Y/N)'s true identity?
(Y/N) hoped it wasn't about that. But with all of the stuff that has been on his mind?
He was screwed.
He sat back down, watching as everyone's face turned neutral. Oh God.
He was made. His cover was blown. Gone. (Y/N) saw a paper folder with his name on it.
(Y/N) was exposed.
He raised his head, trying to stay neutral. He can't show his emotions.
" We knew from the beginning. " Bruce said, showing him the file. (Y/N)'s eyes widened for a little bit. What? Then... Whaaat?
" I know that look in your eyes. You are not doing this out of your own freewill. " Bruce continued, his blue eyes looking right into his soul.
" So I'm giving you a choice. Since your feelings were genuine and since the boys bonded with you, you can have an out. Or you can go back. " Bruce concluded and (Y/N) blinked a few times trying to comprehend all of this.
He was never this disarmed so quickly.
" I... I don't know what to say. " (Y/N) admitted softly and so quietly.
" Well, think about it at least. I won't force anything on you. " Bruce said and (Y/N) nodded, standing up.
" I'm going to my room. I really need to think. "
Everyone just nodded and (Y/N) left, letting out a breath. This... This went well.

A Steddie / Buckingham comedy of errors of sorts. It goes like this.
Robin thinks Chrissy Cunningham might be her non platonic soulmate. She's smart, a little goofy, observant, seems like a great listener, and after what the rumor mill is saying was a pretty intense summer has really come into her own. It's a shame she went straight from dating Jason to Eddie Munson.
"She said she's working on herself," Steve claims, more in tune with the gossip than she is, "pretty hypocritical of you to say guys and girls can't be friends."
Which is pretty hypocritical of him when she knows he only cares cause he's already planning his wedding to Chrissy's new boyfriend; he needs Eddie to be single otherwise he's pining away for his perfect co-babysitter for nothing.
But it doesn't matter if they are dating or if they aren't or if Chrissy Cunningham with her perfect strawberry blonde ponytail is her soulmate, because her parents keep trying to set her up with some friend of a friend. She needs to do something quick before disaster strikes.
Melissa and Richard Buckley still know how to tie one on, when the occasion strikes. They're parents now, they've settled down some. Given in to the picket fence life, keep their yard mowed so Gayle Collins down the way stops glaring. They haven't done anything really crazy since that weekend they left Robin with Minerva and went to see what that whole Woodstock thing was about. Now they mostly just stick to getting as high as they can and stargazing on the weekends that Robin is off with Steve, a sweet boy kind of a square but the brownie recipe he gave them makes the best edibles.
Melissa can tell her daughter is lonely, she notices a lot of things about Robin that she won't tell them. Richard has noticed that their dealer Eddie has started bringing a friend along with him. Eddie is a sweet boy too, raised well respects his elders something they care about now that they've become them, he is also obviously and fantastically gay. Like all the parents in Hawkins, Richard and Melissa have heard how Wayne Munson has taken in that Cunningham girl after she came back from her trip out of state. Melissa remembers being a vaguely out of control youth and knows that a trip out of state is code for one of two things, and Chrissy doesn't look like she's ever been pregnant. Chrissy seems like a girl who might like their daughter.
Steve would die before he denies Robin just about anything. She is the platonic love of his life, they nearly died together, they've come out together. He's pretty sure as long as he has Robin and his kids he'd be content for the rest of his life, romance be damned.
A sentiment Robin seems to agree with since she wants him to fake being her boyfriend. Obviously, he says yes. Steve is a good boyfriend, he's always been a good boyfriend. He's attentive, great with parents, knows when to keep the pda to a minimum but also knows when to put on a show. He used to be pretty sure that Mr. and Mrs. Buckley liked him. So he's not really sure why they pulled him aside before movie night.
"Your parents hate me."
"There isn't a parent in Hawkins who hates you."
"You mom just asked me if I didn't think it might be better if I found someone more suited to me."
"What does that even mean?"
"It's basically mom code for I think your the worst person my daughter could have brought home. If I had the choice I'd kill you so why don't you do us both a favor and fuck off."
"I don't think that's right."
"Rob, I love you but conversational nuance isn't exactly your thing."
Eddie likes his job. Sure it's technically not honest work, but who knows maybe down the line they'll legalize it. He's getting in on the ground floor, an entrepreneur. Hawkins is surprisingly pro-weed and Eddie is just fine sticking to that after this summer. His favorite customers are the old folks. Like Miss Brenda at the library or the Buckleys. He always brings Chrissy along when he goes out these days, she feels weird staying in the trailer by herself and he likes having her nearby. She puts people at ease.
Except the Buckleys, who seem strangely obsessed with her. They ask her pointed questions about Dorothy, and surely they mean an actual Dorothy, surely the nice middle aged couple aren't trying to figure out if Chrissy is queer. Sure he got some vibes off of Buckley the younger, but that was before she started dating the love of his life. Now he's starting to think his whole gaydar has gone to shit.
Chrissy, a baby gay who has just broken free of the nastiest case of comp het Eddie has ever seen, answer honestly. She doesn't know a Dorothy, is that one of Robin's band friends? How is Robin, she is so sweet. Chrissy just wishes she had more time in the day so they could see each other more. She's dating Steve right, they make just the cutest couple, don't they think?
Eddie can tell Melissa doesn't. A surprise when even Wayne likes Steve Harrington, thinks he's the bees knees. Loaned him a screwdriver or some shit when the guy was over fixing something at the Mayfield place. She smiles though and agrees that Steve is quite sweet, in a tone that Eddie is far more used to hearing used when people are talking about him than about Steve Harrington. He blinks and the next thing he knows Chrissy is agreeing for them both that dinner on Friday sounds lovely; she'll bring a dessert.
Like she's ever baked in her life.
Chrissy Cunningham has had a rough couple of months, but she's settled now. Sure, she had a breakdown so bad in Eddie's trailer that she ended up having to get professional help; but she got that help and a new support system for herself. Really, the only way life could be much better is if she were dating Robin Buckley.
Eddie likes to tease her, calls her a baby gay like she's a wobbly legged deer still figuring things out. She's had eyes on Robin since the fifth grade, when she got her hair cut short to her shoulders the first time and her teeth still had a gap before her braces went on. Steve is a great guy, she's seen him with the group of freshmen that follow him around like ducklings; she's also watching him now and he's spent most of dinner making moon eyes at Eddie instead of his girlfriend.
She doesn't understand how, Robin is a vision. Full of spit and vinegar, she is firecracker mad glaring at her parents across the table. "You really brought him here? I'm dating Steve, can you not accept that?"
A lot happens at once, Chrissy isn't entirely sure what is going on but it feels a lot like a pot boiling over, something left too long unattended.
"We aren't trying to set you up with our dealer," Mr. Buckley said. "You're not exactly his type."
"Chrissy is such a nice girl." Mrs. Buckley tries.
"You said you stopped that," Steve to Eddie, a lethal pout on his lips and downturned eyes.
"Well, I stopped with the kids," Eddie tries, "I gotta pay the bills somehow, sweetheart."
"Chrissy?" If Robin was a vision in her sharp eyed rage, she's radiant in her pink cheeked surprise.
Once the shock, surprise, and comedy wear off Chrissy thinks there will be tears. Robin's parents seem nice. They seem like the kind of parents you confide in and who hold you tight. She thinks about her mom doing something thoughtful, thinks of her quietly accepting who she is and who she loves; and when she can't do that she thinks of Wayne and Eddie and knows she'd cry once they were alone and the theater of it all was over. So she thinks she might need to make the most of her moment while it's there. "I don't want to be a homewrecker," she jokes, something she's picked up from Eddie, "but I think your boyfriend has his eyes other places."
"Boyfriend, what boyfriend?"
"They're showing Clue at The Hawk this weekend, if you want to go with me?"
Robin can't nod her head fast enough.
"Stevie, I noticed you find yourself newly single," Eddie says, sorrow so fake he should rethink his decision to go within 10 feet of the drama department. "If you could bear it, would you want to crash their date make it a double?"
Steve agrees so fast a bit of hair escapes his coif, it falls in a curl at his forehead.
Robin's parents both seem pleased, pleasant smiles that chrissy is becoming more accustomed to seeing on adults now that she resides in the Munson place. "They'll be smug about this forever," Robin confides. Her smile betrays her lack of real dismay.
Chrissy got her girl and her best friend got his boy, so she thinks it's all's well that ends well.

A long over-due ask compilation (Art & Music)
Tumblr media
It's vaguely based on a short story from the book "The Consumer" by Michael Gira, specifically "The Boss". I think it came up in conversation with a friend or something when I was picking a new username, so that's how we arrived at it - this was almost a decade ago so, my memory on it is a little hazy!
{MORE UNDER THE CUT]
Tumblr media
HAHA thank you so much!!! Glad you enjoy what I do 😎🍻
I BELIEVE this little guide I put together over here might be helpful to you, also! I touched on pretty much everything you brought up.
As for reference material when it comes to facial expressions, I have a mirror next to my desk which I glance at often and make weird faces at LOL and for consistency, it's really a matter of learning to dissect and remember facial structure. It's just something you end up developing an eye for when you've done it for long enough! Naturally, if we're talking about drawing existing characters, it's always helpful to just look at some pictures of their mugs and take a minute to define what features about them make their faces recognizable - I touch on this at the link above as well!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do plan on making a "drowstarion" (love that, by the way LOL) playlist eventually, life's just been kicking my ass and I hardly have the time 😭and when I do, I just wanna draw.
Otherwise I don't have any other playlists floating around at the moment, BUT the one my boyfriend made for his Vellioth comic can be found here, and it might scratch a similar itch!
Tumblr media
Thank you! I believe this was in reference to this post. Something like that takes me about... An hour??? If we're talking just the colors, at least. Though that's a really rough estimate because I take a lot of breaks, so my sense of time when I work ends up pretty skewed. Even if the application of the colors themselves took less than 20 minutes I probably spent 2 hours just staring at it LOL.
Tumblr media
My friend, I have no idea. I'm in a constant battle between "I want to draw more realistically" and "I want to simplify my art so I can draw more/faster". What you see is the result of that ongoing brain-tug-of-war.
Also, just the way I assume everyone else develops theirs - they see stuff they like and emulate it until their art is Frankensteinish enough to be it's own unique thing!
Tumblr media
I'm far from a Type O Negative buff, BUT I'm happy to share some of my favorites with you! They're quite scattered across a couple of their albums so I'm not sure I have a favorite, but I would say October Rust is a good starting point.
In no particular order, these are my most listened tracks of theirs: -Love You to Death -Black N.01 -Haunted -She Burned Me Down -Can't Lose You -I Don't Wanna Be Me -Be My Druidess -September Sun -Tripping A Blind Man
Tumblr media
Alas, I was one of those people who was already drawing in kindergarten 😅 though I would say I only started taking it seriously when I was around 15-16 years old. As someone who has tried their hand at several other hobbies since reaching adulthood, I get what you're saying that it can kinda feel like... You missed the wagon? I've felt that way about all kind of things lol
That said, I've seen adults managing to develop their art skills extremely fast and effectively before. Understanding where and how you need to improve, and how to follow lessons/guides best is something that is vastly improved by maturity and knowing how to best hone your time, attention, and resources - and those are skills we completely lack as children. So, I sincerely believe that as long as you commit yourself, you can definitely get to a point that you're happy with in a couple of years if not less.
Tumblr media
JUST DO IT BUDDY we are all just people looking through a screen and you won't ever see, talk, or meet 99% of the folks who ever clap eyes on what you post. Whenever you start getting nervous about sharing something, take a minute to ask yourself why you're nervous, and if none of the reasons have any genuine substance besides being afraid of what people "might think", just go ahead and post it. You're no mind-reader after all, and if you are, I doubt you can hear what a guy from Argentina or wherever is thinking about the art you made.
Point is, nobody online can touch you 🤷and if someone doesn't like what you do, they can simply choose to not interact with it, and if they do you can block and move on. There are zero reasons for you to feel "bad" about putting up a doodle when our experiences on the web are so easily curated nowadays.

Other Parts: Part One, Part Two, Part Three (short version).and Part Four.
Tumblr media
Luckily the first few days after the visitors got back were manic so you didn't have to think about how your life had changed. You shut yourself away with Johanna and monitored everything about her condition. You slept at the foot of her bed, fetched her meals, helped her walk to the bathroom and just basically let your life revolve around her in a similar way as you had with Finnick. You supposed you had a pattern of throwing everything into fixing someone's life when you felt your own was falling apart.
Your sister was smart though and knew something was up. She'd asked you how you'd been but you only gave vague answers. When she mentioned you to other people they looked away and she was beginning to think you'd done something horrendous based on the reactions. She was so proud but getting a little tired of all the secrecy. She'd finally managed to convince you to take her on some walks so she could leave her room and her hope was she'd see someone who would actually be honest with her about what was happening. So she was ecstatic when you bumped into Finnick, you not so much. "There he is!" Johanna said "the real-life merman, where have you been I've hardly seen you!" Johanna said as Finnick walked into the infirmary. He jumped at her voice and you seemed just as nervous. "Johanna we should go get you sat back down" you said but she pushed your comments away and looked to Finnick, expecting a reply. "I've just been busy" he said awkwardly and Johanna smiled "oh yeah with Annie? I bet you're having fun being back together?". You felt your cheeks go bright red and Finnick wrung his arms out of the sheer awkwardness. He shrugged at Johanna and looked right past her to you.
"Y/n" he said softly "please can we talk?". "Sorry we've got to go, Johanna's late for an appointment". "No I'm not, what's going on?" your sister asked but you just looked at her and in your best big sister voice said "Johanna, come on!". She could see the fear in your eyes so she nodded to Finnick and followed you out.
"So" Joanna said after you'd gotten her back into her room and finally stopped chattering on about random stuff in a failed effort to distract her from what she witnessed "are you going to tell me what that weirdness with you and Finnick was or am I going to have to break out of here and ask him?". You shook your head, you'd managed a few days pretending it hadn't happened and she'd hear it sooner or later so better it came from you. "The two of us had a thing" you shrugged and Johanna grinned. "Alright Y/n! He's a total upgrade from that last girl you were into! So how did it happen? Did you go for it first or him? Is he as good in bed as we all think". You blinked "I'm not sure I want to answer any of those questions" and Johanna could see your expression and knew you were upset. "What happened?" she repeated "you said you had a thing, how much of a thing". "We were dating" you admitted "publically, everyone here knows or I guess knew". Johanna's brows furrowed and then it clicked "until Annie came back". You nodded "Finnick thought she was dead, that's the only reason he was with me". Johanna shook her head "not the only reason, he's not like that". You shrugged "well what does it matter? She's back and I'm dumped". "Did he actually say that?" Johanna asked and you shook your head "no, he's been trying to talk to me since she got back but I've been avoiding him. I already know what he's going to say so what's the point?". Johanna hit you with surprising force and you moved your arm away from her. "Ow!" you cried "bitch". "Well bitch is better than coward! Go speak to him! You don't know, he might still want you". You shook your head "he won't she's the love of his life. I know his decision, it's pretty obvious and I just don't want to hear him say it to me". "You won't be able to face him until you do" Johanna argued. "Who says I want to face him?" you asked "honestly, I just want to forget that Finnick Odair ever existed".
You meant that 100% but your sister also meant what she said and she knew you'd regret not talking this out with Finnick, or so she thought. So she came up with a plan to make you face him. Basically, she told Finnick she desperately needed to talk to him about you. Then when he arrived she popped out to nip to the toilet, waited for you to come for her "check-up" appointment, watched you go into her room and locked the door. "You're not coming out until you talk to him Y/n!" she yelled.
You really hated your sister sometimes. It was just like her to ignore what you'd said and do what she thought was best. She was so stubborn too and you knew there was no way she was letting you out until she did what you said. "Johanna!" you grumbled under your breath before turning back to Finnick "okay fine, you want to talk so talk but I have some rules. No apologising, no telling me how great I am or asking if we can stay friends. Okay?". Finnick blinked just as surprised by this situation. He'd wanted to speak to you for days but now you were in front of him, he was a little nervous. He nodded, taking in you and your rules and the words came easy to him because he'd been thinking over them for the past few days nonstop. He still felt so much emotion when he looked at you though so he needed a few breaths to compose himself. "Well I just wanted to say I never meant for this to happen and that I'm...you got me through everything this past year and I wanted to thank you for that. You meant a lot to me Y/n and nothing will change that, I will always care about you and every moment we spent together was real for me okay?". You nodded "got it, we done?". Finnick couldn't think of anything else he could say to make this right so he nodded "okay". "Great, see you around!" you said and banged on the door "Johanna he says we're done" and Finnick yelled for her to let you out. "That was like 20 seconds!" she complained and you nodded "I told you, here's nothing left for him to tell me" and you stormed off to sulk.
You refused to speak to Johanna after that and you suspected she sent Katniss after you. The Mockingjay appeared at your door and asked if you wanted to talk a walk outside. You walked through the rubble aimlessly before stopping by some trees. Once you sat down it began.
"I'm sorry" Katniss said and wanted to choke her but considering Peeta just did that you thought it might be a bit harsh. "It must be difficult" she said, unaware of your inner monologue "to have someone appear and take everything away from you". You knew she was speaking more through her own situation so managed not to get annoyed. "How are you coping?" you asked her "have you seen him since...?". Katniss nodded "a few times, it's still the same". "Well if someone did that to him it can be undone. It's just like computer programming, they'll work out a way". Katniss didn't look convinced and you weren't really good at comforting sad people. So you did what just felt natural. You rested your head on her shoulder. Katniss stiffened and you wondered if you'd overstepped but then she leaned back on you. "Thanks Y/n" she whispered and you nodded "no problem" and just sat in silence.
You first saw Annie a few weeks later. You were eating in the dining hall and went to put your plate away as she walked in...with Finnick. You of course stopped like a deer in headlights and stared at them. Annie noticed you after Finnick and her gaze turned icy which made sense. Everyone here knew about you and Finnick, it couldn't be a nice welcome to receive. Everyone at District 13 was used to you and Finnick so even though Annie was with him first, it was like she was the new one in their eyes which anyone would hate. The whole room went silent as she walked in and stared at the three of you which didn't exactly help. You had no idea what they thought was going to happen. You and Annie weren't going to start fighting or having a slanging match in the middle of lunch. There was nothing to fight about, she had him and you didn't. End of story. The situation was so tragic it was like a soap opera and you didn't do tragic. So you raised your head, pretended neither of them was there and walked right past them.
You felt quite proud of how you'd handled yourself but not everyone did. Finnick followed you out and when you wouldn't respond to his calls he ran after you. He quickly caught up with you and you couldn't pretend you didn't hear him anymore. "Y/n come on it doesn't have to be like this!" he said and you rolled your eyes "like what? Were nothing Finnick". "I know and that's the problem! I don't want to pretend you don't exist" Finnick said and you sighed "well we can't exactly go back to how it was before so this is our only opinion" you replied. "But why is it?" Finnick asked "is there really no hope of us being friends or at least acquaintances who say hello to each other". You raised your eyebrow at him. With as much malice as you could muster you spat "grow up Finnick" and walked away.
He didn't follow.
After that Finnick didn't try and talk to you again. He and Annie avoided you, if you passed them on the corridor, they'd look away. He started training in a different space and moved his room away from yours. You told Johanna you were over it but that was a lie. It hurt every time you got a reminder of them and you had no idea why the pain wasn't going away. Nearly two months had passed and you still felt as shitty as the first day you realised you lost him. You weren't sure how much more you could take and then one day you found Finnick waiting outside your room. "I need to tell you something" he said and you didn't even have the strength to fight it. You figured the sooner he started the sooner he could leave and regretted your actions almost immediately.
"Annie asked me to marry her" Finnick started and a reaction literally burst out of you without any control. "Jesus christ Finnick!" you yelled "why are you telling me this? Why did you think I should hear this personally? This is exactly what I want to hear right now, this is just what I want. Did you really think I'd prefer it over Johanna telling me what day to stay in my room and avoid the ceremony? I know you think you're helping but you're really not!". "No see that's the thing!" Finnick said "we're not getting married! I told her no!".
You had another long rant ready but that threw you off guard "no? Okay...so why tell me?". "Because it made me realise how different my mind and Annie's are. It made me realise I don't feel for her like I used to...I'm not in love with her anymore. I'm in love with you".
You blinked your eyes several times but Finnick didn't go away so you just asked "I'm sorry?" and Finnick smiled. "Y/n I'm so sorry for all of this and that it took me this long to say it but I want you! I miss you so much and I'm at my happiest with you. I don't want to marry Annie, I want you. So will you please take me back?". "Take you back?" you asked "but Annie...she's you're soulmate, you're the Katniss and Peeta of District 4. You saved her!". "She helped save me too but she's not my soulmate, that doesn't exist and I don't love her that way anymore. My feelings for you are stronger than my feelings for her and I can't hug or kiss her without wishing it was you. I tried to press on at first but it's not fair to anyone. I know I've hurt you a lot but can you consider it" Finnick asked "I need you Y/n".
In retrospect, considering all Finnick knew about you he should've expected you to throw a punch at him. However, he didn't and you caught him on the jaw.
"You need me?" you yelled throwing a punch and Finnick groaned in pain. "You need me? Are you joking! What do you think this has been like for me?". "You needed me? I needed you Finnick" you said choking up and he nodded also tearing up. "I know I'm sorry, Y/n I'm so sorry" he said and hugged you. You melted into his touch and cried as he held you tightly against him.
Even after you'd calmed down, Finnick kept his arms around you and you didn't mind. You'd missed him so much you didn't want him to ever let go. "I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight" you told him and he looked at you with a frown "why?". "Because I'll wake up and this will go away, it will have been a dream". Finnick shook his head "this is real Y/n, I'm not going anywhere...again" and for good measure he pinched you. When you jumped he smiled "see, not dreaming". You were going to push him when you saw the red mark on his face.
"Shit I did that didn't I?" you asked and Finnick worked out what you meant "yes you did". "Does it hurt?" you asked and got your answer when Finnick jumped as you touched it. "I'm so sorry, let me get an icepack," you said and ran from the room before Finnick could respond.
You returned quickly after and Finnick let you lay him down and apply the pack. "I'm sorry for hitting you but that really came from nowhere". Finnick frowned "well it wouldn't have if you'd have let me talk to you". "You didn't want to talk to me at the start, you still thought you wanted Annie". "Did I though?" Finnick asked "you never gave me a chance to tell you otherwise. The second Annie got back you ran away from me and wouldn't speak to me". "True" you agreed "but what was I meant to think? That you'd choose Annie over me? If I'd have come to you and told you I didn't want to lose you that night she got back, would you really have considered me over Annie?". "Yes" Finnick said without hesitation "100% and I think part of me was desperate for you to" he admitted "I wanted you to tell me you wanted me so I could say it back".
Your jaw dropped to the floor. "I had no idea I had that option" you admitted "I thought I couldn't hold a flame to her". Finnick shook his head "Y/n, you're the person who saved me after I was rescued. You were the reason I got out of bed each morning and the reason I'm still alive. I think the day I left the capitol the old me died and here I became a new one thanks to you. I was happy with you and so when Annie appeared it was surreal. When you retreated I tried to carry on as before but I couldn't because I was different. The truth is I'd accepted her death and I'd moved on. I will always care and love Annie but it's so different with you. With Annie, it came from our shared experience and trauma...which was important, I needed that but I didn't realise there could be more in a relationship. I got that from you. We had shared trauma but it wasn't dependent or dishabilitating, being with you made me strong" Finnick smiled "you made me feel so powerful and valuable as well as feeling so loved and supported. I wasn't a victor, a District 4 golden boy or a mentor, it was almost like I was the pre-games Finnick. You made me feel human again and helped me forget. You're...pretty special" he finished and you smiled. "Finnick I..." and you paused. You'd never told anyone you loved them before. Even Johanna and you didn't say it often so you were scared to say it to Finnick. You thought you were in love with him but didn't want to make yourself so vulnerable. Finnick seemed to sense this and he took your hands "it's okay Y/n, you don't have to say anything" and he hugged you. You settled against his chest and closed your eyes.
Finnick said you held a candle to the love of his life! Maybe one day, you could be his new one. Maybe you were already on your way there?
"So do you guys have to make an announcement retracting your breakup or something?" Johanna asked the next day "or do you just announce you're together again?" she asked. "I think neither" Finnick said and you nodded your head "they've had enough fun with our private life". "Yeah but how will they all know you're not with Annie anymore?" Johanna asked. "Well considering I moved out of her place, settled back into Y/n's and we've been seen pretty much everywhere together I think they'll get the message". You nodded "they have, I've had quite a few girls smiling at me today". Finnick laughed "maybe they were just being friendly?" and you and Johanna both shot him a look. "No, it wasn't a casual smile it was like a well-done smile. A you got the prize smile". "You got the prize?" Finnick asked "do you need me to wear a little bow or something from you?". "Maybe if that's the only thing you're wearing" you agreed and Finnick grinned "evening plans". "Eugh, I didn't realise how gross this was going to be, can you two stop undressing each other with your eyes while I'm sat right here?". "No" you and Finnick responded at the same time and Johanna stormed away. "You're way too sweet and cute you know?" she called and you smiled "we know".
"Were you and Finnick like this from the start?" Johanna asked later when Finnick had left and it was safe to be in the room again. You smiled "like what?" and she rolled her eyes "all gross and all over each other. So happy and horny". You went to argue before realising you didn't have a leg to stand on and nodded "yeah actually that's a pretty accurate description". Johanna shook her head "I just had no idea the two of you would work so well together, I mean I knew you were attracted to one another but this is something else". "Wait go back, you knew we were attracted to one another?". Johanna nodded "duh! The first time you saw Finnick you couldn't take your eyes off him and yes he was half-naked but it was different. You were looking at him how you used to look at Sophia Grey back home". You smiled at the memory of her and shrugged "that's probably accurate, I still think Finnick's the hottest man to ever exist but you said you could tell he was attracted to me too?". Johanna nodded "yeah he liked your charisma and charm. People usually got tongue-tied around him but you were the belle of the ball and he was attracted to that. Not to mention you were a pretty young female who had just won her games, I didn't think Finnick would do anything because he had Annie but I still wanted to separate you so others didn't get any ideas". You nodded "Finnick mentioned that, I never realised how much you did for me, how you've been protecting me even since I got out of the games". "And now you've got Finnick to take my place" Johanna said not hiding her bitterness and you smiled "I'll always need my big sister. Plus we're Masons, from the womb to the tomb!". You could tell you took Johanna by surprise with that one and she burst out laughing "what the fuck is that? Where did you hear it?". "It's good right?" you asked and she shook her head "it's fucking terrible!".
"Now back onto the topic of you and Finnick because I still have questions" Johanna said "how did that even happen? Especially if he thought Annie was dead". You explained how you cared for him and became friends that way. "There was always an attraction there and then one day he saw me naked. He stared and was pretty obvious so I came to his bedroom at night and asked if he wanted to have sex". Johanna laughed "you just went up and asked?" and you nodded. "I'm impressed" she smiled "and I bet Finnick was too". You nodded "he seemed it. From there we spent more time together, bonded, emotions got involved, Annie came back from the dead, Finnick came back to me and boom. Present day". Joahnna nodded "and he makes you happy right?". You smiled without even thinking and nodded. "Good" Johanna said "and if he ever hurts you again I'll kill him".
The war really started speeding up after that and before you knew it Katniss was spotted in the capital. When you heard, Finnick sat up straight in his seat and you could tell what he wanted to do from the look in his eye. So the two of you were on the next ship out to join Katniss. Johanna couldn't come because of her injuries and you refused to help smuggle her out. She claimed she was never going to speak to you again but hugged you tightly before you left. "Come back" she told you forcefully and you nodded "I will, we both will" but felt like you'd cursed yourselves the second you'd said that. You got a horrible sinking feeling and realised you'd rather not come back at all than come back without Finnick.
Things weren't too bad at first when you got to the capitol, you used Bogg's tracker thing to safely navigate your way through the capitol but then everything went wrong. Bogg was hurt and died in seconds. Then one of the soldiers triggered a trap trying to get to her sister. A black tar-like substance began to pour down and you were one of the first to react. You grabbed Finnick, pushed him in one direction and headed for the girl who couldn't walk. You and her sister were carrying her to a house when you heard Finnick shout and go back. "Finnick!" you yelled and wanted to go after him but you couldn't abandon this girl. "I'm okay. We're here!" you heard him yell a few seconds later and you breathed out in relief. You broke your way into a building and carried the girl upstairs. The substance was getting closer and you realised there was nowhere else to go. You put the girl down and began to assess the area. You kicked open one of the doors and began moving her through there. The others followed you and that was when you noticed Finnick had Peeta in a tight grip. "What happened?" you asked and then you saw the body hanging outside. "A bit of trouble" Finnick told you before smiling "but we're fine, especially now that stuff has stopped". He was right, the tar was retreating and draining away as if it had never been chasing you.
You moved to a new building where you found out you were all dead! Finnick laughed at the death announcements until yours appeared. That sobered him up but you just smiled "wow they remembered my name? I'm famous!". Katniss rolled her eyes at you and Finnick, who still didn't like you talking this way, passed you some food and sat next to you. You all ate and rested before working out the next steps. You realised after that the streets were a no-go and decided the sewer was a better bet because nothing bad ever happens in the sewers!
You navigated your way down the tunnels and then stopped to sleep in an alcove that seemed safe. You and Finnick woke at Lieutenant Jackson's shout at the same time. You grabbed each other's stuff and were out of that tunnel first. It was antagonising, walking through those tunnels while hearing animalistic noises and having no idea if they were getting closer or further away. Gale led in front with his gun and you were behind him, helping pass on Pollux's directions. You could tell something bad was going to happen, you could almost feel it in the air and so did Finnick. When the two of you climbed through the tunnel, he subtly grabbed your arm and pulled you away from the group. He was already backing away when the first swarm appeared and killed Lieutenant Jackson before she could even scream. Gale opened fire and you worried Finnick might try and go back to grab Peeta but luckily he didn't. He had a hand on Pollux and was practically dragging him with you as he ran. Pollux pointed and Finnick would yell the direction to you urging you to go faster. You could hear the others behind you and were glad they were still alive. You felt a little bad for not checking they were okay before you ran but survival skills are a bitch and the only thing you wanted from this was for Finnick and hopefully, yourself to survive.
You reached a ladder and pushed Pollux to the front, the others appeared closely followed by those things. You finally got a good look at them and you were horrified. So much so you were frozen to the spot until one charged at you. You threw an axe at what you assumed was its face and then threw two more as others took its place. It was chaos, you saw Cressida go up the ladder and were looking for Finnick to tell him to go next when you were tackled by one. Its jaws were horrible and it was trying more than anything to bite you. You just had an axe ready when its neck was slit was a trident. "Come on you're next up!" Finnick cried yanking you onto your feet and pushing you to the ladder. "Not without you!" you said and he shook his head "I'm right behind you" so you started to climb. You made it up and realised Holmes was up here too. You could hear more of those things down there and tried to see what was going on but it was a mess. A figure appeared and you got hopeful until you realised it was Peeta. You yanked him up and then climbed back down the ladder. "FINNICK!" you yelled and it took you a few seconds to spot him. He was further away than Katniss and Gale who were right below the ladder. He was alone and the obvious one to be left behind unless something happened now!
"Finnick!" you cried again and Katniss looked up at you but Gale just pushed her towards the ladder and she started to climb. Gale called to Finnick but didn't make any moves to get him. He was going to die. Katniss had nearly reached you and was yelling a you to climb but you couldn't. There was no way you were going up that ladder without Finnick, so you let go.
Katniss tried to grab you as you fell but luckily she missed. You managed to grab one of the bars near the bottom to slow your fall but still hit your knee on the way down. Pain exploded in your leg but you didn't care. It could've been broken and you would've forced yourself to stand. The creatures were trying to swarm Finnick and you threw yourself, literally, into them. You knocked two down before decapitating another two with a spear Finnick had dropped. You kicked one into the water and buried your axe in another three. "Y/n what are you doing? You were up and out!" Finnick cried as you fought your way towards him. When you were near he grabbed your arm and pulled you beside him. "Yeah but you weren't!" you replied "we both get out or neither of us!". In the middle of all of that, Finnick smiled at you "Katniss and Peeta who?" and you couldn't help but smile back.
You worked together fighting side by side and were doing well but they just wouldn't stop coming. "We need a way to stop them or slow them down" Finnick panted and you nodded "but how?" when something came to you. "Finnick throw the trident!" you cried and he locked eyes with you and got it. "Duck!" he said and threw it into the larger tunnel, pressing the button that would make the whole thing explode. It was similar technology to Katniss' arrows but as Finnick's trident was bigger than her arrow, the explosion was also larger. The whole tunnel collapsed, killing all of those creatures down there. One down, one more to go you through as more came from the other side.
The blast had destroyed the concrete leading to the ladder so there was no way you were escaping that way and you stopped trying. You and Finnick were both injured, covered in water and these things blood but neither of you stopped and finally got to a lul as Finnick killed the last one. "Come on, we've got to push forward" Finnick said taking your hand and running through the tunnels. It was fine for the first few seconds and then you heard sounds of more. "There's too many of them for us to kill one-on-one we need to get somewhere high!" you told Finnick "Somewhere out of the water and I can deal with them". Finnick looked at you and got it "I think I saw somewhere on the map" and you nodded trusting him.
You ran for what felt like forever and you spotted the ladder at the same time you heard the creatures. "Come on let's go!" Finnick yelled and you both started sprinting. When you reached the ladder Finnick literally picked you up and tossed you halfway up it before scrambling up after you. You could actually hear the creatures' footsteps now and their claws reached the ladder just as you got up. You immediately turned around and yanked Finnick up. He fell on top of you and you pushed him onto the floor. "Finnick stay down!" you yelled and activated your own weapon, lobbing it down the hole, right past the creatures on their way to you. However, instead of staying down, Finnick leapt up and rugby tackled you away from the hole and used his body to cover you as the electrified axe exploded. You both cried out as the electricity hit you too but Finnick had shared the charge with you and after a few seconds you could breathe again.
You heard screams of agony as the creatures were basically fried alive, as well as everything close in the tunnel. The sparks lit up the whole space and the stench was awful. You could taste metal in your mouth and you both kept spasaming as some extra electricity escaped you but you were alive. Finnick had saved your life and to thank him you leaned over and kissed him. Finnick jumped at the contact but soon relaxed at the sensation and when you broke away opened his eyes. "Thank you" you told him and he shot you his beautiful smile "you said it Y/n, both of us or neither of us" and he took your hand and ventured out of the tunnels.
You and Finnick climbed higher and ran through some more of the underground tracks. You came across a few peacekeepers but managed to take them out easily. After the monsters you'd just dealt with humans were easy. You got one of their guns which solved your weapons running out problem but you couldn't hold the whole capitol off indefinitely. "We need to find the others" you said and Finnick shook his head "no we need somewhere to hide". You didn't ask where because there would be no point in that, so you just nodded and kept going. You didn't want to spend any more time underground and even though it was a risk, you and Finnick followed a tunnel above ground. You began gathering rocks to throw to test for any traps but stopped when Finnick began to laugh. When you asked what was going on, he picked you up and swirled you around in a hug. "We're going to make it" he smiled "come on, I know where we are". You didn't have any follow-up questions and followed Finnick as he carefully led you to a house.
Finnick knocked on the door heavily and on the second time it opened. Finnick wasted no time forcing his way inside and dragging you inside. You slammed the door shut behind you and blinked to see an older man staring at you. He was in a bright pink dressing gown with feathers on the collar. "Finnick?" he asked and Finnick smiled "don't tell me you forgot your most profitable worker?".
"You worked for him?" you hissed when you and Finnick were alone "as in he let people do those things to you and actually encouraged it?". Finnick nodded "yes but believe it or not, Feather was one of the good ones. He always tried to protect me and made the clients treat me...well not nicely but to a standard. He also helped me escape it all and return to my district". That did sound better but you still put a hand on Finnick's arm when the man, Feather, returned.
"I can't see any guards but it's still best I hide you but I can only hold you for a few hours". Finnick nodded "I know, if we could just rest for the night that's all we need". Feather sighed "you're lucky you were my favourite" he said and then spotted you glaring at him. He smiled "friend of yours?" he asked Finnick, looking down at how your hand was clamped over Finnick's arm and you'd angled your body so you were in front of him protectively. "Something like that" Finnick smiled "do you have any supplies? We're a bit banged up". Feather nodded "of course, let me grab some things and I'll show you to your room. I'm sorry to stick you in the basement but it's the safest place". You tensed at the idea of going underground again and struggled when Feather opened a trap door that led to darkness. You weren't sure if you could down it but Finnick took your hand. "It's be okay" he told you and taking a deep breath you went down the steps.
The basement was small, cold but filled with things so at least it didn't look bleak or scary. There was a sofa in one end which Feather placed his supplies on. "So this is your bed for the night. It's my old one, nothing wrong with it I just had to move it once a stain got on it. Velvet is so hard to get stains out of!" he complained and you blinked. You couldn't tell if you were more annoyed that he was genuinely mad about stains in a world that killed children or more disgusted about what the stain might be. Luckily Finnick was a social butterfly.
"Thank you so much Feather, this will be great". Feather nodded clearly fond of praise "I will go get you some blankets, I've given you some warm clothes but it is awfully chilly down here. Be back in a few!" and he disappeared cheerily up the steps.
"Right okay so lets assess your injuries" Finnick said turning to you expectantly with his hands on his hips. "I'm okay" you said and Finnick shot you a "really" look making you roll your eyes. "Fine, I hurt my knee earlier and think it could swell, I also rolled my ankle and it's still bothering me a bit, my hip also took a knock and I'm missing two fingernails that were ripped off". Finnick nodded "let me take a look at your legs first". You nodded and Finnick peeled off your trousers before wincing. Already your hip had a nasty bruise on it and your knee was swelling. "Yeah there's no way you're walking tomorrow" Finnick winced "good thing I've got experience carrying people". You shook your head "no way! It leaves you exposed! I'll walk just fine after a bit of rest". Finnick shook his head "maybe with a wheelchair yeah because by tomorrow this ankle will be huge and painful. There's no use arguing over it, I saved your life remember so you owe me". "I mean technically by jumping down that ladder I probably also saved your life so aren't we even?" you tried to joke but Finnick wasn't in a joking mood.
He grabbed you and kissed you sharply and passionately. When he separated he didn't let go. "I am not losing you Y/n, we just got through the craziest night of our lives and I am not surviving all that to lose you tomorrow. Don't do that to me" he demanded but it sounded more like he was begging. His eyes were ablaze with anger and sadness and you immediately backed down. "Okay" you agreed "okay, we'll work it out tomorrow" and you cradled him to you. Finnick buried his head in your neck taking some deep breaths before nodding and pulling away.
He sat back and nodded to you "now let me help you get cleaned up". Finnick cleaned the cuts and wounds you had and then helped you get changed. He bandaged your ankle the best he could and put some soothing gel on your hip and knee before helping you get dressed. You then switched and did the same for him. His body was okay but he was covered in scratches and bruises. Some of the scratches were quite deep and you disinfected them hoping they wouldn't need stitches. Finnick was just getting changed when there was a knock at the door.
"Delivery service!" Feather called "so I've got several blankets" which he tossed to Finnick "and also some food". "Feather you're amazing!" Finnick gasped grabbing a bowl and passing it straight to you. "Oh it's nothing! Just some soup and bread my chief made. I figured it might warm you up". "It will thank you" Finnick smiled sinking next to you and Feather smiled. He genuinely seemed pleased to see Finnick again and you supposed there must be some good in this man deep down despite the things he did. He waited for you both to finish your soup which didn't take long and then took the bowls.
"Right so it's mandatory lights out in 10 minutes do you guys need anything else before I lock you in". "Lock us in?" you asked panicked and Feather looked at you "It's a trap door I can't just keep it open! If the peacekeepers break in they'll find you straight away and we'll all be dead. The safest way is to hide the door completely and yes lock you in". You still didn't like the idea of it but Finnick touched your arm "that's fine, we'll be fine. Thank you again". The man nodded "see you in the morning" and left. Seconds later the sound of a sharp click told you, you were sealed in.
"Hey Y/n it's okay" Finnick said reaching out for you and pulling you into his chest "we're fine, we're safe and we're not in the sewers". You buried your head against him and he repeated this a few more times before you stopped shaking. When you lifted your head you realised it wasn't exactly pitch black. You could see some outlines of things and Finnick. You played with his hands and nodded "we're okay, we're alright, we're safe and have somewhere to sleep for the night". Finnick nodded "exactly" and kissed your head "and I know this sounds horrible but I'm so glad you're here". You chuckled and Finnick laughed too "I just mean, if I could have anyone here with me I'd want it to be you". You nodded "yeah I get that, even though it's terrifying I feel better because you're here". Finnick nodded pressing his face into your hair. "We'll get through this" he said "we'll survive it and when we do, you and I are moving far away from all this and just living". You smiled "tell me more about this great escape we're going on". Even though it was dark you could tell Finnick was smiling.
"We'll move near the ocean" he told you "we'll live just off the beach and spend our days fishing, surfing, swimming and doing whatever the hell we want. We'll spend our evenings sitting around a campfire, listening to music and we'll have the ocean to lull us to sleep every night. You'll see the most amazing sunsets and sunrises and have the most amazing beach make-out sessions. Trust me beaches are the best places for that". "You've had lots of experience with that huh?" You asked and Finnick shushed you with a kiss. When you were too breathless to speak he continued "we'll workout on the sand, build sand castles, float for hours on end and the best part? It will be just the two of us and it will be perfect" he told you. "I like that" you whispered "I want that, especially the nobody else being around part...but we'll probably have to have a spare hut for when Johanna gets bored and decides to appear at our doorstep". Finnick nodded "oh yeah there's no way we're keeping your sister out". "She'd come through the door with an axe like that old movie, here's Johanna!" you said and Finnick chuckled. "Well as long as you're there too I think I can handle your sister". You smirked "those are bold words, I'm related to her and I can't even handle her" and Finnick laughed. "We'll double team it there, figure it out together" he turned you to face him and you could just make out his eyes in the dark, "Together" you agreed and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. You separated and lay tightly together, praying the sun would never rise.

Hiya! Just wanted to say that I absolutely love how you write! Also, can I request a Cale/Reader where the reader is his childhood friend? (If you're too busy, please feel free to ignore this!) :D
am digging thru my inbox and found this and was struck with an idea
okay babe, this was done in the middle of the night so it might suck because i genuinely forgot where i was going
the ask is pretty vague so im doing a KRS!Cale x Reader x OG!Cale
i hope you're not too upset with me changing a few things 😔🥺
Tumblr media
That man is not your Cale.
You watched the person that simultaneously looks like your Cale and yet nothing like him with cautious eyes.
Why is there no one pointing out how different he was acting?
Had you gone crazy?
"[Name]?"
'Even his voice sounds exactly the same,' you thought, a chill running up your spine. His voice sounds exactly the same and yet it was different.
Cale had never called for you like that so nonchalantly.
No matter how much alcohol he had taken or tired he is from acting like a lout, he had never called for you that. His voice had always been warm when he talks to you and the reason why you were able to point that out was because you were the only living person with that privilege to hear it.
"C-Cale?" You called for him nervously. "Did something happen?"
Cale's one red eyebrow raised in confusion. "I don't think so, no."
He stared at you, trying to think what you were thinking. You were not mentioned at all in all of The Birth of A Hero series and to think that this trash son of a count was able to have a close friend was surprising. What's even more surprising was the fact that said close friend was you, the child of an artisan who worked underneath Countess Violan.
Apparently, the trash son and you were close enough to the point you're allowed in his room whenever he decides to be docile for the day.
It had been only a few days ever since he possessed the body of Cale Henituse and had been spending the last few days searching for more information regarding Cale Henituse that might not be mentioned in the first volume of the book.
You had apparently left the county for a few days to buy new tools for your father since he had just done a commission for the Countess. When you came back, Cale had gathered enough information to make sure you wouldn't see through him.
"Y-You just seem really quiet," you added quietly, sitting across him with both hands on your lap anxiously.
You feel like you are talking to a stranger.
And you know you are,
Because that man is not your Cale.
"Do you want me to cause a ruckus then?" Cale questioned and you glanced up at him.
'That's something Cale would say,' you both thought.
Usually, when he says something like that, you'd always challenge him to actually cause a ruckus and he'd never act upon it because he knows if you were to be with him while he's acting like a lout, you'd get even more swept up into rumors than you already do.
"Then do it."
Cale looked at your expression, able to see your shaking eyes and the way your jaw moved as if you were biting on the insides of your cheeks. You were agitated, but why? You had just urged him to cause a ruckus with such a nervous expression that Cale began to think something must have gone wrong.
"Do it," you pressed. "Cause a ruckus."
Cale stayed quiet. What the hell?
He knew you were a bit weird since you were friends with the original Cale Henituse but to think you were gonna press him into causing a ruckus?
'Don't tell me the problem isn't Cale Henituse but [Name] who's the one been urging him to do those acts,' Cale thought to himself with a small frown.
You suddenly stood up from your spot as if the seat had burned you. You stared at him for a moment, still agitated and glancing at the door several times. It was clear you wanted to leave and Cale would not take that privilege from you — he'd actually gladly give it to you.
"Nevermind that," you told him hurriedly before he can say anything else. "I'll be on my way back to help my father with his next work. I'll talk to you soon, Ca-I mean, Young Master Cale-nim."
You bowed to him and immediately hurried to leave, eager to get out and escape from being alone with a man you did not recognize.
Cale watched you leave, his heart nearly jumping up to his throat when he saw how you had looked back at him when you were going to close the door.
'There's no doubt about it,' he thought.
You knew.
Cale was convinced you had figured out something was wrong - how you found out within one meeting with him was impressive, he had to admit that. He had underestimated how close you were with the original Cale Henituse and didn't think you'd be able to immediately see through him. He'd thought you'd be at least be relieved that he was no longer causing trouble here and there, like the other rest of the family and staff.
'To think they're that sharp,' he thought with a frustrated frown. 'They must've noticed something was wrong. I must've acted wrong.'
When you didn't turn up for the next few days and was openly avoiding him to the point the Countess herself had asked if something went wrong, Cale knew he had to do something.
It'd be bad news for him if you go around tattling to others about what you were suspecting - whatever it was in your head. Either way, it's bad news to him because he'd have to deal with the questions he's not even sure he's capable of answering.
"What the hell," Cale mumbled as he stood in front of his windows, watching you talking animatedly with a bunch of maids near the garden.
As if able to feel his gaze, you looked up and made eye contact with him. Both of you flinched in surprise and Cale sees how you immediately averted your gaze and said something to the maids, quickly ending the conversation with them and then running away from his line of sight.
A knock was heard from the other side of his door and a slightly strained voice called out, "Young Master Cale-nim, it's Ron."
'Dammit,' Cale thought. 'One problem after the other, please.'
"Come in," Cale answered, turning around to face the former-assassin-turned-butler who had entered his room without making a sound. 'What a scary old man.'
"Young Master Cale-nim, you seem upset," Ron pointed out with a benign smile. "Is it because of Miss [Name]?"
Cale raised an eyebrow. "What makes you think so?"
Ron's smile turned even scarier in Cale's eyes upon hearing his tone. "Well, it's clear that they're avoiding our Young Master-nim. Usually, you'd be together nearly all the time in the estate if their schedule allows them to do so."
Cale had severely underestimated how close and observant you were to the original Cale Henituse. If this continues, people would immediately catch on.
'I have to talk to them.'
So he asked for Ron to have you visit him when you can tonight, something that you surprisingly accepted. Ron stated that you seemed a bit rattled upon hearing that Cale wanted to meet, which was apparently odd for you because you always liked meeting him.
"Did something happen, Young Master-nim?' Ron had asked, his tone rather teasing than concerned.
'That's what I'm trying to know,' Cale had grumbled. Ron gives him a benign smile.
You did come when you were free, though it's during one of the times everyone was supposed to be resting, which was at night. You knocked on his door at around 10 PM and needed no answer from him to come in.
Cale who had been waiting for you -- for your information, he fought off his sleepiness just to wait for you to come -- turned to look at you. His eyes widened a bit when he saw that you were trembling a bit. And also...
Is that a small knife in your shaking grip?
"You're not Cale Henituse," you stated, voice shaking and obviously horrified at the sight of him. "You're an imposter."
"Put the knife down," Cale began slowly. One of your hands lets go of the knife, showing just how violently you were trembling while facing him. Your hand locks the door behind you before you turned to look at him again.
'They're bold,' he thought. 'And reckless.'
In your hand was a whittling knife that you always used to help your father add detailing and smooth out his work. It was small and meant to do little work despite how it's a general item to be used for woodworking, and you know it would do little damage, but this was the only thing you were capable of thinking to bring.
"You're just someone who looks like him," you say with a trembling voice. "You sound exactly like him, but you are not him."
Cale takes a step closer and you raised the little knife. "D-don't move!"
Cale stared at you, seeing how your face is pale and your whole body is trembling. He can see that even though you were trying your best to grip on that little whittling knife for dear life, your hands are shaking to the point you had to readjust your grip every second.
There were tears beginning to emerge in your eyes -- is it sadness over the realization that your friend is gone or is it out of fear because you do not know what could he do to you now that your friend is gone and you're all alone with him on a locked room?
You were bold and reckless, but you were smart and observant, he had to admit that.
You were able to see through him even though all you did was sit in silence and asked a couple of questions -- Cale wondered if that's all it needed for your to see that the original Cale Henituse had been gone. But how were you able to conclude that Cale Henituse is gone and that he is someone else?
"I am Cale Henituse," Cale said, taking another step closer to you. Your breath hitched a bit and you backed up to the door, still trying your very best to hold the knife up.
"N-no, you're not," you stammered. "Y-you're not him. I know him, and--"
"Why do you think so?" Cale asked again, taking another step closer.
Your back hits the wall and he can see in your eyes the moment you realized that you couldn't possibly stab him - not when he looks and sounds exactly like your beloved friend. It was cruel of him, but to ensure his safety, it needed to be done.
"H-he"--You choked up--"He's n-not supposed to be like this with me."
A tear fell down, and your whittling knife dropped to the ground. With a face full of sorrow, your [e/c] eyes finally met his russet ones. Your eyes were wet and bloodshot as you stare at him with such a crestfallen expression, "Y-You're not supposed to look at me with those eyes, Cale."
You slowly sink to the floor, covering your face as muffled sobs began to come out from your lips. Cale stared at the door, his usually nonchalant face succumbing into an appalled expression as he process your words.
Reality slapped him hard this time -- harder than it did when he woke up as Cale Henituse.
He forgets sometimes that even though this was just a fantasy action book written by someone from his world, this was an alternate universe that actually existed. Every single person here has a life and story that exists despite not being mentioned at all in those books.
You and the original Cale Henituse were not an exception.
The books may have shown that Cale Henituse was a lout from the Henituse family, but that was not all about Cale, isn't it?
The books never showed about Cale having a close relationship with a wood crafter's child and developing a relationship with them. The books doesn't talk about how Cale Henituse while a lout, could also be capable of compassion and loving others to the point he'd love someone despite the obvious status differences.
And what bothered Cale, no, Kim Rok Soo, was the fact that he so easily accepted that his soul now resides in Cale Henituse's body and did not think of what grief would be felt by people who truly do care for the original Cale Henituse.
"Cale"--You were now on the floor, almost like you were bowing to him as you gripped at the trousers of his pajamas in desperation--"Where's my Cale?"
"My Cale," you sobbed on the carpet of his bedroom. "Where is he?"
Cale bent down, placing his hands on your shoulders. "I'm sorry."
You shake your head, tears streaming down your face. "No, no! Don't say that! Give me back my Cale!"
Cale clenched his jaw as he thought about what should he say to you. He doesn't know where your Cale is and he couldn't even give you an explanation of how he got here. "I'm sorry."
"Stop saying sorry!" You nearly wailed. "Just give me back my Cale!"
"I don't know where he is," he says to you, gripping on your shoulder and forcing you to look at him. He sees your face, streaked with tears and he wonders what should he say. "Let's sit down and I'll explain this to you."
He helped you get back on your feet and walked over to the couch in his bedroom, sitting across from you as you were still sniffling, wiping away your tears.
Even while he explains his situation to you, he can see that you were still wary of him and even did not trust him. He told you about how he was a man from another world, falling asleep in his home and then waking up as Cale Henituse and he had been doing his best to adjust to this new life.
"Regarding Cale Henituse himself, I do not know anything," he told you. "I don't know where he is right now. Maybe he's possessing my body, maybe not."
"Is there no way he can return?" You asked with such a small voice that Cale could barely hear it had it not been a quiet night. "That my Cale can be back?"
That was how you had been addressing the original Cale Henituse all night. Your Cale. It was a bit of an odd thing to hear when he's been trying his best to adjust to the name 'Cale' himself but he wasn't going to comment it out loud.
"Again, I don't know," Cale answered.
He sees you take a deep breath, rubbing your face before letting your hands go through your hair. You looked to the side, blinking rapidly as new tears began to emerge in the corner of your eyes again. They quickly fell down to your cheeks and you began to speak in a shaky voice, "I-I can't see him again?"
Cale thought about Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo. He could always see them again by looking at the pictures they had forced him to take with them. He could always reminisce about the moments they had together, but he could never meet them again and he's already at peace with it.
He could understand how you feel.
The grief, the hurt of not being able to look at their eyes again, to see their smile, to be able to talk again to them.
He could understand how you were hurting.
"We never know," Cale answered. "He may come back, he may not."
You closed your eyes, tilting your head down as more tears fall to the carpet. "I see..."
Cale gives you some time to process through the whole thing -- it was the least he could do -- and waits for you to calm down, which was surprisingly a lot quicker than he predicted before he could properly ask you, "What was your relationship with him?"
"We were romantically involved since two years ago," you murmured. "I told him it was impossible but he convinced me."
Cale already predicted it, but it was still surprising to hear you say that. 'I guess that guy wasn't so bad if he has a significant other...'
"I won't demand anything from you as a partner," you quickly added. "Our relationship is a secret and you are not him, so I will not expect you to do anything."
Cale nodded. "Thank you, because I'm not interested."
You stared at him for a moment, an internal battle brewing up inside your heart and you nodded as a response. "Could you promise me something, though, stranger?"
Cale, no, Kim Rok Soo raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"
"Promise me that if there is ever a chance that you encounter him again, tell me about it."
Cale had thought about how your request didn't seem so hard - that even though there's a high possibility of that happening, he thought how it could possibly not happen because Cale Henituse is probably dead.
Maybe he could worry about that once he gets his slacker life.
It would have been so easy.
His life would go on so easily.
But, no, you had to know about his identity and learn more about him.
You were able to let him talk to you about himself longer than he had ever talked about himself to his subordinates. Your easy-going nature along with a slightly playful personality was so easy to work with and you were SO. GODDAMN. OBSERVANT.
He couldn't leave you be because of the guilt he still feels. You have always said that he wasn't in the wrong, that he did not have to feel guilty, but it's so hard to accept that. He's still struggling, but he could never leave you be and makes sure to always update you on whatever he's doing.
"I actually don't want to get closer to you at first, you know," you had said with a melancholic smile. "But I can't just leave you be, not when you're walking around with that face."
"Don't get it mixed up," he warned you.
You smiled at him, amused. "I won't."
"Also," you added, patting the lapel of his uniform in thought. "I'm glad to see Cale Henituse achieve something as admirable as this. Well, not him, but to see the image of him being like this makes me happy."
As he stood in front of you as you fixed the pin of the Henituse territory on his Commander uniform, he thought about how sickeningly sweet it was to have you do something as domestic as this.
"Thank you, for allowing me to see Cale like this."
His breath was taken away by the smile on your face when you uttered those words.
And then he was reminded that your smile is not reserved for him, but only for the original Cale Henituse. He knows that you still weep for the loss of your lover despite years have passed and you're always having an internal conflict whenever you look at him.
Sometimes he can see that you forget that your lover is gone, like when you instinctively cradled his cheek when he was upset, and the way you'd immediately apologize and leave made his heart beat faster, and yet they sink at the same time.
Curse you for knowing his boundaries.
He doesn't really know what he should call these emotions that have been brewing in his heart over the course of years after knowing you - they were pleasant and yet they hurt him to the point he'd curse himself for feeling them.
When he finally met the original Cale Henituse, now residing in his previous body as Kim Rok Soo, he waited for the man to mention you and when he never did, he decided to bring you up.
"Are you not going to ask anything about [Name]? They know about me being someone else."
Kim Rok Soo's face morphed from nonchalant to form a small melancholic smile. "How are they?"
"They're fine," Cale answered. "Before your regression, what happened to [Name]?"
"I married them, of course," Kim Rok Soo answered with a somber smile. "I loved them till the day they died."
Cale's breath got caught in his throat.
Oh.
"They died along with the rest of the family," Kim Rok Soo continued. "They were the love of my life and they made sure I didn't feel too alone. We have loved each other since we were young, long before we both even know what exactly loving someone else meant."
"Take care of them for me, won't you?"
Cale nodded, fist tightening. "I will."
Was it wrong to be so relieved of those words? Was it wrong to be relieved, knowing that you were officially being given the free will to make your choice? That you have been let go of by your former lover to do so?
That there might be a chance for him?
"I'll make sure to keep them safe," Cale said. "Not for you. But for their own sake and mine."
Kim Rok Soo's eyes widened a bit after hearing Cale's declaration. A satisfied smile began to bloom on his scarred face. "I see. You're going to be a lucky man, then."
"Tell them that I am happy where I am right now," Kim Rok Soo added. "I'm a bit saddened, but I will be with my mother from now on, so there's no need to grief over me because I am happy with the choice I make."
He had always thought about your request and always thought that it wouldn't be too hard, but how could he say that to you?
Either way, it's his responsibility so he should start thinking about it.
When he finally conveyed the news to you, giving a vague explanation about how the original Cale Henituse made a choice to be with his mother so as to not expose the issue with the God of Death, he had to listen to you wail, louder than when you realized your lover was gone all those years ago.
Perhaps you feel the same way as he does, perhaps not.
Cale knows he had to be patient and let you heal first, but he knows that at the end of the day, however long you'll take to move on, he'll always wait for you.

hiii! can you do arisu x reader "I'm sorry I never loved you." (preferably that arisu would be the one saying that). Please ignore if you have done this request already. Thank you <33
this has been in my inbox for so long and i apologize !! this is gonna be a sad one D:
heartbroken | ryohei arisu
- "i'm sorry i never loved you."
- ryohei arisu x gn!reader | angst
Tumblr media
You waited.
Waited and waited.
But he never wanted to show up.
Arisu had been your friend for years and now you were roommates. But with those years, a crush on him developed.
At first, you denied it, but the way he was so kind to you made it difficult, and you couldn't deny those feelings anymore.
For the past few days, you tried hanging out with Arisu, but he always had an excuse.
"I have to help my dad with something", "I have to go see Karube and Chota", "I have to stay late today."
Of course, all of those things could be possible, but it was strange to you. You two used to hang out all the time, but something shifted in your friendship.
This morning, you texted him saying that you needed to tell him something when he got home. He asked if everything was okay, which you replied with 'yes', and he agreed to see you soon.
But now you were left looking like a fool. Waiting for someone who was never going to show up.
Perhaps it hurt more because it was someone you love. Is love too strong of a wors? No. You can still love your friends - that's what you reminded yourself.
You were currently sitting on the couch, fiddling with your fingers and looking at the door a few times. You sent many text messages to Arisu, but he never read them.
A sigh escaped you. Why would he do this now?
Too many thoughts appeared in your mind. You thought he was just busy, but the many excuses left you doubtful and worried. You didn't want to grow apart from Arisu as you two had been friends since high school, but the crush you had developed made it hard to think it would be okay in the end.
Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the door unlocking and a man stepping in. That man was Arisu, making you stand up immediately.
"Arisu." His name left your mouth. The shock of it was noticeable, which you cursed yourself for as he looked nonchalant.
"Hey," he replied back casually as he slipped his shoes off by the door. The identical shoes were unorganized - classic Arisu. It was a habit of his that he never fixed. "Sorry, I know you texted me but I couldn't reply."
"Oh," your voice was quiet, but you quickly cleared your throat and stood up straight. "It's okay, don't worry. I- was just worried, you know?"
"Ah," Arisu nodded before putting a bag down. "I hope you weren't waiting too long."
"I wasn't," you lied. "Do you want to eat?"
"I'm okay, but I'll have some water." Arisu went to your shared kitchen. You followed along like a lost puppy.
Tumblr media
You and Arisu spoke for a bit despite the nervousness returning every now and then. All the thoughts contaminating your mind - it was dreadful.
"So, what did you do?" You asked, "while you were out, I mean."
"Just went to the store and stuff." Why was he answering so vaguely? Usually, he said every detail about what he had done in the day. It was weird. "What did you want to tell me, by the way? I've been curious about it all day."
All day? Then why didn't you come home?
"Uh," you scratched the back of your neck. "I feel like it doesn't matter anymore. Are you sure you want to hear it?"
"Yeah," he answered. "I'm curious. It's nothing bad, right?"
"No, well, I don't know what you'll think, but to me: no, it's not bad," you said. "I just.. I've been wanting to say this for a long time."
"You're making me a bit nervous." Arisu joked.
"Sorry, sorry," you laughed nervously. "Look, Arisu. We've known each other since high school. Meeting you was a big part of my life because, well, I mean we live together- that says a lot about our friendship, right?"
Arisu laughed and nodded.
You continued. "Throughout our time being friends.. you've been so nice to me and I cannot thank you enough for that. But,"
"But what?" He asked.
You couldn't even look at him for this part. "I started liking you. I know that probably sounds like some middle school drama, but I like you a lot."
Arisu fell silent, his eyes widening. "What?"
"I don't know how you feel, but we've held hands a lot, you've told me sweet things that make me smile so- so stupidly. You call me all these sweet nicknames. I just, I like you, thats all."
Arisu couldn't believe it. His face was covered in shock, yet his mouth had nothing spilling out of it.
"Please," you said. "Do you have anything to say?"
"I-" Arisu stood up. "Y/n."
"Yes?" You looked at him.
"I don't know what to say," he told you truthfully. "That was a lot of information to take in, I-"
"Listen, if you need time to think about it then-"
"I don't like you in that way." He blurted out.
"What?"
Your heart practically sank to your chest. Were hearing this right?
"I have feelings for someone else," Arisu told you the truth. His eyes trying to meet yours. "I'm so sorry, I just-"
"But the way you acted around me.. you acted as if you liked me," you suddenly filled with anger. "You would flirt with me."
"Flirt? Y/n, I was never flirting with you," he explained. "If I was flirting with you, I would've told you."
Your eyes filled with tears, yet they wouldn't fall out. Not yet. "You- why didn't you tell me before? Who is it that you like?"
He hesitated to answer. "Usagi."
Usagi.
Usagi?
She was your friend. One of your close friends, but he liked her. Not you.
"I-" you held back a sob. "I think I should move out."
"You don't have to do that. We can figure this out. Our friendship is more important than this."
"I can't," you told him. "I can't. I'm just gonna go stay at my parents for now."
"Y/n.." His face turned into a worried expression.
"We can talk more tomorrow," you said. "Maybe. I don't know, uh, thank you for hearing me out. I didn't know how to tell you."
You grabbed your bag, putting your shoes on in the process. Tears ran down your face when you weren't facing Arisu.
As you were about to open the door, Arisu stopped you. His hand was on your shoulder.
Looking up at him, Arisu noticed your tear-stained face. He frowned slightly - he obviosuly felt bad, yet his feelings couldn't change for you.
"I'm sorry I never loved you."
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you soon enough." You answered back.
"I wish things could be a bit different," he told you. "I'm sorry."
Then, you left.

Not sure if you have answered this fully in a post or another ask, but is there a deity (lesser known/prime, or a non-god like Delilah) that you think would make sense for Laudna if she needs to make a patron change after the whole Delilah incident? Or if you think she will make a patron change at all?
Obviously you don’t want it to be tied to the Raven Queen or Vax or campaign one things, which is fair and valid for a campaign that was supposed to be about Marquet. But I wanted to know further what your thoughts were, or if you have other thoughts entirely on it?
Thank you:)
I haven't! The following is going to be somewhat long, because I don't think I can answer this without talking through where I'd like to see Laudna's story go from here.
The way I understand Hollow One, Laudna cannot really be brought back as a Hollow One (though I'd fudge the rules for Revivify specifically). I'm not saying it can't happen, since Matt did homebrew Hollow One and may rule differently; but if that happens I don't have much to say about it and would need to see how things play out for a bit to have any insight since I'm not sure what the next move is for Laudna if she remains largely unchanged.
If she's brought back as human - either with her memories intact or back to her younger self, the woman who died on the Sun Tree, but actually this arguably works better with her retaining her memories - then that's a pretty massive shift. Suddenly she's "normal" in a way she hasn't been, and more importantly, she's mortal. I would like her to explore that concept of a second chance or rebirth. And either way, either she died before she had a chance at adulthood, or she is finally free of the patron who's plagued her for the past 30 years, and so I'm interested in seeing Laudna grapple with the concept that actually is remarkably like what FCG's experiencing: Oh fuck, I have a soul and everything matters now.
Now my personal preference really is for her to retrain warlock with bard and have no patron. I like the idea of Laudna exploring the freedom of being entirely her own person, beholden to no one; and honestly I think bard would be better mechanically given the party makeup. But if she does want to pursue having a patron:
One thing Matt (and Aabria!) has done very well is have localized patrons. Uk'otoa is deeply tied to Wildemount, as is Xalicas (who never showed up in C2 but who does have some worshipers who come up in Call of the Netherdeep); The Observer, meanwhile, is very much of Niirdal-Poc. So it might be that she goes for some time without a patron and then finds something in Yios, or the Rumedam desert. I think this would be a great opportunity to tie Laudna more to Marquet and build out the world. On the other hand this will take a little time to properly build to.
Hilariously, given my FCG comparison above, Avandra, aka She Who Makes The Path, is really fitting thematically for someone who's been on the run for decades but is finally able to make her own road. Celestial would be the obvious subclass.
A little out there, but given that I'd love to see Laudna's crafting given more importance through being a bard, if she instead looks to deities, Moradin could be a weird but intriguing pick. (Also probably celestial).
Given that the Feywild is involved with the plot already and Fearne has clear fey connections, an archfey wouldn't be too hard to seek out.
Finally, because I've had Zahra on my mind given my "Darling" count, Zahra had a Great Old One patron named Sirius and we never learned much about them but they were vaguely tied to the moon, which I think could be interesting to explore.

Ok I'm done being sappy and I'm gonna start being slutty. I've had this enduring thought about Matty that I thought I would share with you. I just want him to be smoking weed next to me and I tell him I've never smoked before, and I get kinda shy because I've lived a pretty sheltered life (religious upbringing goes crazy). Basically one thing leads to another and he has me pinned against the wall, and he's trying to shotgun smoke into my mouth. He's playfully teasing me for being a square and it's really hot and ughhhhhhhh. I don't know why I want him to tease me, but I do. Something about him holding me still so I have to breathe it in (all consensual of course) and then teasing me during it. Sorry if this is weird, it has just been on my mind since black tank top night. That. night. changed. me.
-🦝
Bestie, I think black tank top Matty awakened so many humans’ sexualitiessss. I mean, myself included, and I’ve been a whore long before that.
BUT YES YES SHOTGUNNING SMOKE FROM MATTY IS A DREAM WE ALL SHARE!!!
He’d be walking around the house, in just comfy clothes, his baggy tee and some joggers. His curly hair is all over the place and he keeps running his hands through it. He lights one joint after another. And he’s just doing casual stuff with you and chatting and stuff. Then, he sees you eyeing the blunt.
“You want some?” He offers it to you without a second thought.
Your hand twitches, you almost take it cuz wouldn’t that be fun? But then your rational side kicks in. All these years of avoiding doing stuff like this makes it feel like an insane decision, though you know that others might think it’s dumb.
Matty watches the gears turn in your head, a bit puzzled.
“It’s okay, if you want it. I’ve got plenty more in the drawer over there.” He urges you, thinking that your hesitation is out of selflessness.
You blush and look away, biting your lower lip, and you just shake your head “no.”
“What’s the matter? Why not? Are you one of those ‘won’t put my lips on it cuz someone’s lips have already touched it’ kinda people? Cuz my lips have touched yours a million times, baby.”
You’re a bit embarrassed at this point, cuz he’s coming but with all sorts of reasons that don’t even consider your truth. So, you just blurt it out. “I’ve…never smoked weed before, okay?”
“I’m sorry, WHAT?!”
“Don’t make me say it again…” you roll your eyes.
“Not even once? Like at school or uni or something?”
“Mom always said weed was a gateway to harder drugs…so, no.”
“Wish I could disagree with your mom, but- you know my whole thing.” He laughs and gesticulates vaguely.
“No, I know she’s wrong. I just, you know. Never had the guts to act on this knowledge.”
“Well, then, you absolutely must take this one. Go on. Try it!” He offers it to you again. But you’re kind of overwhelmed and unsure.
A cheeky grin appears on his face. He’s absolutely delighted by all this. “I’m corrupting your innocence.”
“I’m far from innocent!”
“Okay, miss ‘I’ve never smoked a joint in my life’”
You can’t argue. It gets you all flustered. You want to take it from him, but you feel self-conscious and silly.
“Oh my god! You’re being such a princess. Here-“ he puts the joint between his lips and takes a long drag, keeping his lips sealed and holding the smoke in, his hands on your waist push you against the wall, holding you in place, as his lips crash against yours. He blows the smoke into your mouth.
The taste hits you. It’s new, and weird, and you’re not sure how to react. Plus, the firmness of his hold and swift actions has you a bit distracted.
“How’s that?” He laughs.
“Ummm…” you take a minute to take it all in.
“It’s not a riddle, you don’t have to think about it!”
“Think I like it?” You whisper shyly, a smile tugging at your lips.
“It’s okay honey, you can say it. Your mom and the devil can’t hear us here.”
You swat his chest, embarrassed.
“Well, if you liked it, let me show you this- open your mouth for me.”
He sticks one end of the joint in your mouth, between your teeth, the other in his. He takes a puff, blowing directly into your mouth. This one’s more intense. The smoke in your mouth stronger. Your eyes shoot open and it makes him laugh teasingly.
“So innocent. I had no idea you were such a good girl. Honestly, it’s kinda hot. C’mere.” He moves the joint out of the way to kiss you.

Nitpick Number Twelve for Nitpick November:
I know I've talked before about how weird and frustrating it is that the main character ages are included so rarely in RWBY that based on only what's in the show instead of word of author, it's hard to know how old even the main characters are in any given day. For example, as far as I know the first official mention of any age is Ruby being called fifteen years old in volume three in passing by a C-lister, so before season three nobody knew for sure how old people were and because I missed that one in passing line, I thought for ages that Ruby started the show at fourteen and that the others started the show at sixteen. And then, the timeline is done so badly and sloppily that two years pass between learning Ruby's official age in volume three and them being seventeen (in Ruby's case) and nineteen (in the case of the other older kids.) But I legit don't remember if that's confirmed in show or is just more word of author stuff, and since the timeline is so messed up, even the people who caught that Ruby was fifteen in volume three ran the risk of getting very confused and not assuming that there was such a long time gap between volume three's end and volume four's return, or between volume four's end of Team RNJR making it to Mistral in presumably summer time and volume five seeing Haven fall, which was followed by "two weeks" until they're all in the snow in volume six and it's presumably winter already. So yeah, main character ages have always been hard to pinpoint, but there was at least something to go on and some form of word of author.
The rest is mostly just guesswork and sometimes a few 'ideas' of authors or voice actors. Despite not really looking any older than Sun, Blake and Yang's VAs randomly came up with the headcanon that Adam was like twenty three or something when he died. The only guesstimate we have for the age of Ozpin is that he was the headmaster during STRQ era of school and if I remember correctly in Before the Dawn it mentions that the mid-forties Professor Theodore is older than he is? We can assume that Qrow, Tai, and Raven are at least forty (assuming that Raven had Yang after she left Beacon.) We have a guesstimate that Neo and Cinder are vaguely young, mid-twenties range, and I believe we have word of author confirmation that Winter is twenty six, while Whitley I believe had Miles Luna say he was 'anywhere between fourteen and sixteen,' and Oscar seems around the same age. And other schoolage characters such as Team SSSN, Team FNKI, and Emerald and Mercury are all at the very least in the age range of seventeen (at the start of the show) to twenty, and we can make guesses that they're all in the same year as Team RWBY (especially Merc and Emerald who were in one of Team RWBY's combat classes.) While Team CVFY are vaguely upperclassmen, but in Before the Dawn for whatever reason seem to be in the same year as Team SSSN, while Velvet has classes with Team RWBY as well, so you tell me.
The ages of Team RWBY and other main characters like JNOR matter, I wouldn't consider that a nitpick. But it IS a nitpick that I'm super annoyed that we're just supposed to guess with almost everyone else. I don't need everybody to have a confirmed age, but... the Ace Ops? Whitley? May? Ironwood? Neo? I want to know how old they're supposed to be!

You got living to do
Or : Enjolras does too much and his friend tries to knock some sense into him.
My gift for @cherrypigeon as part of the @drinkwithme-exchange ! You requested Enjolras and Eponine friendship and I really wanted to see what I could do with them, so here you go <3
Also a big thank you to @aceofspades-smt for being an amazing beta, it was my first fic and you really helped me through it !
Enjolras doesn't really know at what point he lost track of time. Sure, after the meeting was over, he told Courfeyrac and Combeferre that he wouldn't stay here for too long, but there is just too much stuff he needs to get done. He tried to keep writing his speech for the next protest, and when he ran out of inspiration went back to reading that article about the changes in the Congress, made a note to himself that he needs to get Grantaire a birthday present for next week, then went to see if the online petition Les Amis started got more votes since the last time he checked (ten minutes ago). Then replied hotly that guy on their website who apparently had nothing better to do than to insult the group and their actions. Then-
"Earth to Enjolras, is anyone there ?"
The unexpected voice snaps him out of his thoughts.
"Sorry, you were saying something ?" The blond asks, removing his headphones and looking at the person standing next to him.
Eponine sights heavily (and, he thinks, quite dramatically).
"I was asking if you were planning to stay here all night or if, very hypothetically, part of you would be sensible enough to think about getting some sleep ?"
He shoots her a confused glance "What are you talking about ? I've been here for-"
"Three hours straight. It's almost midnight, dumbass, and I hate kicking you out but we have to close at some point."
With a look of horror, Enjolras realizes he got lost working on this for way longer than he thought.
"Shit, shit, shit", he mutters, very eloquently, while glancing at his watch. Maybe there is still a way he can make it to the metro station before it closes- he really doesn't want to walk an hour to his and Ferre's apartment in the middle of the night.
"Man, you look really bad. Like, worse than usual. Need a ride ?"
Ignoring the exhausted part of his brain that wants to accept, he shakes his head and sends her a smile that tries to look thankful, but is really just too tired to be convincing.
"I will be fine, don't bother. You need to go home, too."
"I mean, I told Gav I'd come back early, but y'know, I think the kid won't die if I leave him alone twenty more minutes. At least I'm gonna pretend I trust him not to set anything on fire while I'm not there."
Enjolras can't help but snort at this - Eponine isn't really one to talk, being on Courf's list of "people most likely to set something on fire in a kitchen" (along, for the record, with Enjolras himself).
"C'mon, Enjolras, you look ready to fall asleep on the spot. You really feel like being an idiot and refusing my help ? Because that's, like, a very stupid move."
Again, he vaguely tries to protest, or at least to sound offended, but she doesn't really sound like giving him a choice. God, I'm definitely too tired for this.
After packing all his stuff carefully (Ferre is gonna kill him if he forgets his coat again), he follows his friend outside. Part of him briefly wonders when and how Eponine got a car, but his brain is so clouded he decides it's not worth asking. Still, it feels weird to rely on Eponine for something. He is more used to arguing with her than to seeing her being helpful.
As a matter of fact, the first time Eponine showed up at a Les Amis meeting, the two of them didn't exactly get along well - Enjolras seeing her only as a lovestruck girl who came along because of Pontmercy, while Eponine already had her own not-so-positive opinion on him based on Grantaire's endless rants.
It took them exactly two weeks and a protest gone wrong to realize that maybe they needed to change their opinion on each other. Since then, they didn't exactly become friends, as they never really had a conversation that wasn't either about their actions with Les Amis or Enjolras's relationship with Grantaire, but at least they managed to get along. Kind of. Given how headstrong and outspoken they both were, their relationship was still a rather tumultuous one. The kind that involved a fair amount of annoying the hell out of each other from time to time, through almost-constant bickering and bullying (affectionate bickering, you might say, although both of them would rather die than call it that way).
But apparently, they were comfortable enough around each other to just sit in silence together without it becoming too awkward. It was one of the things Enjolras unconsciously noticed about her : since she started dating Cosette, Eponine became a lot more relaxed and easy to hang out with. They may not be close, but Enjolras is glad to see his previously morose friend looking so happy.
"Y'know, I wasn't joking earlier" Eponine suddenly says, snapping him out of his thoughts for the second time in the evening, which makes him realize he had been on the verge of falling asleep on his seat. Again. Which is a little concerning, since he has never ever been able to even come close to sleeping in a driving car.
Okay, so much for avoiding awkward conversations.
"What ?"
"Are you actually planning to get some sleep anytime soon ?"
"I am getting sleep !" snaps Enjolras, slightly annoyed by the question. How is that any of her business ? "It's just… there is some stuff I need to finish, but it's nothing more than usual."
Again, his friend lets out a sigh while shooting him a concerned and slightly exasperated look. Enjolras staying up all night to plan a rally or some other action, or even just study something, was nothing unusual. All of les Amis knew that when their friend was getting passionate about something he could stay up for days to think about it, and they usually tried not to worry too much when that happened. But this time something felt different. The blond had been acting like this for weeks, drowning into work and not really taking time for himself or to hang out with his friends.
"Listen, Enjolras, I am your friend, okay ? I just want to help you here. I know what this means to you, but you need to understand you can not keep going like this. You can't just get caught up in the idea of saving people to the point where you forget to live your own life."
"Wha- I don't-" he feels so frustrated by what she is saying that he doesn't even know what he wants to say. "Are you serious, 'Ponine ? Who cares about my life ? When I look at the world around me, you think I want to keep living my life like nothing is happening ? People need help ! We need to do protests, tell more people to- to just do something !"
He seems to be on the verge of tears now - which is how Eponine understands that this may be worse than she thought. It's not that she thought Enjolras wasn't capable of being emotional, obviously, but he never actually showed it to people who weren't his closest friends. And even then, it took the combined forces of Courf, Combeferre and Grantaire to get him to admit what was wrong.
"Okay, listen. Just for once, don't be an idiot and listen, okay ?"
She waits until he gives her a reluctant nod to keep talking.
"You are enough, Enjolras. You are doing more than any other person I know, and - god, I can't believe I am saying this - I really, really respect you for it. I respect the way you just always try to make other people's lives better, no matter what. Trust me, what you are doing is good enough. But you need to understand that at some point you can't just always keep doing more. And most importantly, you can't take everything upon yourself, not when we are all here to help you. You aren't gonna save the world by working yourself to death, Enjolras."
He vaguely tries to say something, but Eponine shoots him a look that makes him very effectively shut his mouth. Maybe the girl seems harmless to people who didn't know her, but she could be terrifying sometimes - like when Enjolras started dating Grantaire and she showed up at his door to give him the basic "you hurt him, I kill you" talk, which the blond has absolutely no reason not to believe given the way she looked at him. Which is why, for once, Enjolras thinks it might be wise not to argue back - this, and the fact that a part of him, even if he really doesn't want to accept it, knows that she is right. But still, that doesn't make it easier to accept.
"I know how much you don't want to listen to my advice, but at least take time to think about it, okay ? And whether you like it or not, your friends care about you. So you need to understand we won't stop giving you those talks until you actually start listening, got it ?"
Enjolras still doesn't answer - but this time, it's because he has a knot in his throat that makes him feel like he is going to start crying if he says anything. Eponine is, has always been, a brutally honest person, and the way she told him that his friends care about him went right through his heart. Even if, sometimes, he still struggles with the idea of people loving him for who he is, he knows his friends care. And he knows that if he doesn't listen to them, they would very well be able to lock him up until he starts taking care of himself. And as much as that frustrates him, he really, really loves his friends for it. So yeah, maybe this one time, he can consider listening to Eponine. Maybe.
Still, when he gets out of the car, it feels like a weight has been taken off his chest.
"Thank you. Really." He doesn't add anything else, because he knows he will always be too stubborn to admit he really needed the help from Eponine Thénardier. It doesn't matter, though, because he knows his friend understands what he meant - she can't help but smirks, and he sees very well how hard she is trying not to say anything sarcastic as an answer.
"Anytime, blondie."
"Don't call- yeah, okay," he sighs. Could be worse.

intersex-support · 1 year
Note
i'm not sure if i'm intersex and maybe this is tmi but i've always susptected i am intersex. i'm afab but i have lots of body hair, mostly on my legs, stomach, arms and even back? but i have a nice amount on my face too, which could just be bc i'm Black and that's more common in my family but ALSO
my periods are really weird. they got fucked over from covid but they were weird before that. of course, i get a lot of the normal cramp pain but then sometimes i get sharp pain. really sharp. like someone's stabbing me in my vagina. i'll sit up and there it is. and that'll happen when i'm not even on my period! sometimes it just hurts. and i can't do anything about it, i just have to wait it out. i figured it was normal when i was younger. like oh yeah, sometimes your vagina just randomly feels like someone's poking a knife up there lol, that's definitely normal. but then i realized your vagina's not supposed to hurt unless you're on your period? and i was mad confused! bc? really? who knew? i'ont know who's handing out this vagina information but i missed my packet somehow.
anyway, my periods can get pretty out of rhythm sometimes and since covid? i haven't had a vaguely regular period since! sometimes i barely bleed AT ALL, which never happened before, i used to bleed like, quite a bit before covid and now it's all out of whack. sometimes it hurts for two weeks before my period and then i still feel like i'm on my period a week afterwards! even if i'm not bleeding. i can't track them at all anymore, lol, they're very irregular and i think i've skipped two recently? (no im not pregnant, not possible)
also i can't have sex of any kind, it just hurts and doesn't feel good at all. sooo. yeah.
SO. this is like a mess of information and DEFINTEILY tmi but? i thought maybe y'all either knew what the fuck this is or could just tell me "nah you're not intersex your vagina's just fucked some other way" either would be helpful ngl.
First of all, don't write off the body hair just because you're Black. Actually, don't listen to a single doctor who tells you that you're just racially more likely to have that amount of body hair, if they do they are just being neglectful lol. Even if it is common in your family, this could just/also mean that a diagnosable/understandable hormonal difference is a part of your genetics.
Some things you could look into OTHER than N/CAH or PCOS (you could have those alongside what I'm about to list) are endometriosis, vaginismus and vulvodynia, tilted uterus, nerve damage, and even infection (although if you've been experiencing this for a long time... I doubt you've had an infection for multiple years without knowing).
I'll also say, everything you said in the second and thirds paragraphs is exactly how my mom would describe what has been going on for her, AND it got worse after she had covid. She has no diagnosis but endometriosis and PCOS are things we have been looking into. A sharp pain may be indicative of a cyst, which could be in the ovaries obviously but I wouldn't rule out it being in/around the hip joint because you mentioned it appears when you sit up.
I'm not sure how covid affects already present issues (doesn't seem like anyone does... although there is some info that may or may not be very conclusive), but if your symptoms got worse after that then I would say it's likely something has been going on.
I think the stabbing pain is concerning, I would really suggest finding a good physician and at least getting some blood tests done for a comprehensive hormone panel AND getting the results sent to you. I'm not saying you can diagnose and treat yourself by looking at them, but we know physicians don't get the full picture, can be racist, or just not do their job. Getting those results can give you a starting point for comparison if you plan on doing your own research too, and can help you understand.
If you do end up going to a physician or get referred to a specialist, they may want to do a transvaginal ultrasound because of the stabbing pain or other kinds of inspection (like an x-ray for example). I just want to say that in any case, if you are uncomfortable then stick by your boundaries. If you feel pain or just feel unsafe then it should not be dismissed, especially since you said anything sexual is painful. I might be overstepping a bit here, but it does sound like you have a lot going on and you definitely do not need someone who is supposed to help you make it worse.
I hope this is helpful, sorry for the super long response but stabbing pain down there is definitely something I know at least a bit about. Can't say you are intersex or you're not intersex, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's not nothing, and I really do hope you're able to get some support!

for the first question of the elvis ask game bc i am incapable of Shutting Up;
"When and what was your first exposure to Elvis Presley?"
like literally i could Not in good conscience let this extend my original answer post ohhhh my god 😅😅 but also i quite like the story and want it recorded for selfish purposes so if you are for Some Reason interested...... here she is
my mom really loves elvis (some of you might know this already). she's from alabama, and growing up her dad (who died p young) really liked him (though my gramma still insists "he always did a little too much of that... jigglin' for my taste"). she remembers her father let her stay home from school on august 17th, 1977, because she was so distraught after hearing about elvis the afternoon before. that day after was a wednesday and she was 10 years old. she says it was practically a public day of mourning in the south.
on the other hand my mom is also deeply catholic and experienced a great moral terror surrounding media consumption upon having me, her oldest, bc she was afraid that if my first word had been "margaritaville" she would have had to answer to god for the depravation of my immortal soul :/ and no that's not a joke she literally thought that about jimmy buffet. so we didn't, uh. have music in my house as a kid. my mom had one (1) bruce springsteen cd i wasn't allowed to listen to, and my dad had one (1) johnny cash cassette that i WAS. other than that the only music we had around was the soundtracks in movies and a lot of gregorian chant. and the one copy of the high school musical deluxe edition soundtrack that i got for christmas in 2006 and my sister and i literally wore the ribbon out of bc we were so starved for Tunes dfghs so i actually. had no idea my mom liked elvis she never listened to his music around me or brought him up.
aaaand then in.. 2009 or 2010 (i had to look up the release date of justin bieber's baby to verify this Holy Shit), i went away to sleepaway camp for the first time. it was an art, science, and technology camp at my dad's alma mater (and eventually mine❤) in my parent's hometown, a couple hours away. i stayed with my dad's parents instead of on campus, but it was still A Big Deal growing-up-wise. and my mom sent me a care package while i was there, with a postcard to read for every day of the week i was gone.
they were all pictures of elvis and i had No Idea Why.
i thought maybe she was just being, like. fun and kitschy.?? idk i was a weird kid who had a weird mom, it was easy to rationalize. and she didn't address it at all until the third postcard, when she said she had thought about finding stationary i would like to write these on but instead she decided to give me something precious to her, these elvis postcards she'd had lying around since she was a girl. because of how, you know, she loved elvis so much.
WELL, NO. NO MOM, I DID NOT "KNOW."
up until this point the only defining knowledge i had of elvis could be summarized by the epic rap battle of history vs michael jackson, which contains such lyrical marvels as "here's a tip - don't swallow a bucket of drugs so you won't die on the toilet dropping hunks of burning love," and "well, i may have died on the shitter but i don't give a crap, you ain't got half the badass battle raps that i have." yes i Did type those out from memory. i'm sure i'd heard elvis' music before (i had seen lilo and stitch at least once, after all) but if you had asked me to name even one of his songs at that time i don't think i could've done it. i simply hadn't conceptualized him beyond the vague image of a white jumpsuit and the words "thank ya, thank ya very much." but my mother expressing ANY sort of interest in a celebrity or pop culture at large was Absolutely Shocking, and i was determined to take advantage of this moment by seeing what the hype was all about.
so i went downstairs to my grandparent's basement pc and typed "elvis" into the google search bar. that was it. just "elvis." not "elvis presley," not "elvis songs," not "who the hell was elvis and does an interest in him make my mother lame or cool?" just "elvis." :)
and the first video that came up was the rapid city unchained melody performance. i watched the video, and i almost immediately had this absolutely overwhelming outpouring of love for this man on the screen. he slurred out "unchained melody. from an album called unchained melody. makes a lot of sense. ok" and i remember thinking that that "ok" had sounded so SMALL. he sounded like a lost little boy. and then that maternal instinct immediately fled my 12-year-old body and i scoffed like a tweenybopping little bitch and thought from how tiny he sounded he couldn't possibly have had a voice worth listening to.
and then he opened his mouth and heaven started pouring out.
i had never heard the song before (though i was immediately struck by its.. well, melody). i didn't know he was struggling with a drug habit, and i didn't know it had been filmed shortly before his death and would eventually come to be seen as the crowning final jewel in the midst of years of muddy decline. all i knew was that this man looked like he should've been in a hospital instead of on a stage, pouring sweat, minutes away from toppling backwards off the piano bench, and despite all of that... he was making the most devastatingly beautiful music i had ever heard. his voice was so strong, so clear, and i was once again baffled that a voice like that could be coming out of his visibly ailing body. i thought about how beautiful it was that he was giving so much of himself to perform this song when he looked like he didn't even have it in him to make it another couple of days. and i thought he was the most beautiful man i had ever seen in my life for doing it. it was like i had the word "beautiful" running on loop in my head. the only thought i had was "beautiful, beautiful, beautiful," over and over again until the song finished.
i didn't even realize i was crying until my gramma (who was just about deaf and had been two floors above me and on the other side of the house) came down to check on me. i remember her coming to stand at the foot of the basement steps and looking at me really carefully, asking if i was ok. and i had never heard her sound worried before ever so i took my headphones off and opened my mouth to ask her what she meant, and i realized i couldn't talk because i was so violently sobbing. apparently i had been shaking, hugging myself, and rocking back and forth for the duration of the video and was so insularly focused on elvis i hadn't even known it. dramatic ass bitch
eventually i calmed down enough to tell my gramma i didn't know who elvis was but i was having a breakdown about him anyway, and it felt really weird because a man i wasn't even invested in had just changed my life maybe bc that's about how big what i was feeling was. she just said "ok. do you want to feel that more or less?" so she sat there with me and i watched the video three or four more times and thought he was just angelic. not in the cheesy "did it hurt when you fell from heaven" way but like there was literally something of the divine about him. and i sat there at the computer desk and cried myself out and eventually about forty minutes later said "ok now i would like to feel less" so she told me on the news that morning had been a performance by a boy about my age and did i know who justin bieber was. this was probably a leading question because it was statistically likely i was wearing a my world 2.0 t-shirt at this time, but it gave me an opportunity to show a 70-year-old the baby music video and also to explain what a youtuber was and my emotional range normalized again.
and then that depth of emotion was so uncomfortably strong and i was so unequipped to deal with it as a kid that i shoved it down and learned hound dog and blue suede shoes and can't help falling in love and then totally disavowed myself of Anything elvis for a decade. or at least that's what i thought i was doing but also i loved dion and the belmonts on one end of the relevant temporal spectrum and frankie valli and the four seasons on the other and my favorite movie was bye bye birdie (the 1995 tv one with jason alexander tho not the '63 version sorry ammo) and i spent a Lot of time reading about buddy holly's life story so uh. MAYHAPS I WAS ALWAYS PRIMED FOR THIS.
and then baz luhrmann bashed me on the head with a sledgehammer and it hit my reset button and now here i am✨

WANTING TO BE SOMETHING MORE
I woke up with a sudden jerk, memories of the realms bombarding my head, giving me this really frustrating headache.
I shook my head, which did NOTHING to dispel the pain.
I'd returned somehow to the forest again, the trees surrounding me from everywhere.
I shook, struggling to get up, but my eyes blurred and my knees wobbled, and I fell back unto the ground. Resting my head on the grass, I listened to the wind, tried to fall asleep, concentrated on my breathing. Anything to take away the pain. My stomach throbbed violently, and a constant twistingi pain was in there. I groaned.
Kyle.
His name rang. Sudden and unpredicted. My head jerked up, antd I set it gently back down, hissing at the intensifying ache.
My body shuddered as I thought of that last second. When stupidly jumped between him and the bladeq the vague sound of him muttering no about twenty times, then my name. Him, still facing the monster while I was out here. Technically dead.
I squeezed my eyes shut, and saw more. The was his breath quickened as he saw the sword pass right through me. His pupils shrank as Game Over yanked the sword out of my belly. His face got pale, way too pale, almost white. He stumbled to me, covering the bleeding wound in my abdomen, muttering, cursing and I felt blood gurgle from my throat, I felt it as it dribbled down my lips. I saw as his cries got louder. "NO, NO NO!" ... tears
"My fault. I promised not to let him die... and now his brother is going to pay."
Footsteps, gently trudging, nearer. They stopped. Knees hit the ground by my side. "That's probably your demon reacting. " His voice said. "Knowing what trouble you already were, I wonder what you'll be like now."
"Kyle." All the self loathing disappeared in a poof. "I thought you were -"
"Dead? Sadly for you, not yet."
I would have hugged him. But that would be weird, considering I just met him a day ago, and he was the crown prince of the demon realm. My home.
I got up to my knees, clasping my side and faced him again. The pain struck like lightening. I cried out and fell back.
He panicked again, saying words I couldn't get a hold of and his hands. The moment his hand touched my arm my insides screamed with pleasure. Some creature. Roaring to get out. The pain was entirely forgotten. I stared blankly at the skies, his words started to make sense.
"What happened are you okay is it the side effects oh god what did I do I shouldn't have let you done this ..."
"its okay dude. I'm fine "
"you sure?"
"yes I am very sure."
"thank you." He said, "you risked your life for me, and I'm grateful." Did he also feel it? the strong sudden surge of power...
"My pleasure." and we stared at each other a second too long, or maybe not long enough.
"I should send you home now"
"no!" I yelled.
"What?"
There was a loud sound, of marching. Soldiers.
"my brother. you have to go" he put one arm under my knees and one at my back, then lifted me from the ground. I buried my face in his chest, hoping it wasn't an insult to royalty. His warm muscular smooth chest. He climbed unto the giant panther and we got to the ship way to fast for my liking.
As he helped me to the door, I held on.
"I don't wanna leave you."
"Whoa. since when have you been clingy.
"I don't know."
"well find out then maybe something to do with the demon?" He took his arms away, but I grabbed them and pulled him close, then let go he looked confused.
"game over. I'm scared if him." I whispered into his ears, hand clasping my abdomen. I didn't move my head away from his ear tho, kept it there and inhaled his smell.
his hand closed on my hand. on my stomach, and my heart skipped a lot of beats.
"don't worry Val. I won't let him get to you"
we stared at each other for one long minute, and then he left. without a word. Guess his demon woke up from slumber.

“Such a dumb little cockslut,” Sirius grunted out, hips rutting against yours at a brutal pace.
“Dumb cockslut,” you echoed, voice dreamy and breathy, moans spilling out from deep within you.
Your eyes were glazed over, and your mind felt fuzzy, you could only concentrate on one thing and that was being good for your three boys. The sound of skin slapping, James’ gags, and all of your moans were filling the room with a lewd soundtrack.
You were under Sirius and beside you Remus’ cock was buried deep within James’ mouth, chasing his high as he fucked into his mouth with no remorse.
“You like that, you filthy slut? Like me destroying that pretty little pussy?” Sirius’s hand was around your throat, squeezing slightly to gain your attention.
“Y-y-es,” you moaned, eyes rolling to the back of your head.
“Yes, what?” Remus said beside you, not letting you forget your manners.
“Ye-s, sir… pre-tty pus-sy,” your voice was slurred, your mind not really there.
Sirius chuckled, “Ya fucked dumb, pup? Where’s that pretty little mind gone?
Your eyes found his, your mouth open and whines met his ears. Your eyes were wide, and Sirius let out a pleasurable groan, “you look so pretty and innocent, baby, but what are you?”
“A du-mb cockslut,” you answered without thinking earning a nod of approval from the raven-haired boy above you.
His thrusts sped up at the sound of Remus finishing in James’ mouth and grunting out “swallow”, which James quickly complied to.
Sirius’ hips stuttered as he emptied his seed into you causing you to moan at the sinful feeling.
“There you go, pup, taking it all so well,” he praised, your heart swelled inside your chest, Sirius’ praise always making you swoon.
He slowly pulled out, earning a whine from you.
James raised his head from his position in front of Remus’ cock and moved to be between your legs instead. “Don’t worry, greedy girl, you won’t be empty for long.”
You whined again, “I’m not greedy… I’m a good girl.”
“Yeah? Then show us,” James said and flipped you over on your stomach, lifting you to be on your hands and knees.
He slowly entered you, giving you no time to adjust before he started snapping his hips at a brutal pace. He let out a loud groan at the feeling of your slick walls filled with Sirius’ cum.
Your arms were shaking and the weight on them caused them to give away causing you to fall into the soft mattress.
James grabbed ahold of your arms pulling you up so your back met his toned chest; he wrapped his arms around your front, keeping you in place. Your head automatically fell back to rest on his shoulder as whines and whimpers left your mouth. James cooed and brushed his thumb over your sensitive nipples, “tired, baby?”.
“No… keep going,” you didn’t want him to stop, you wanted to please him.
Remus moved to be in front of you, grabbing your face and connecting your lips in a heated kiss. His thumb swiping over your cheeks in a comforting manner as he breathed in all of your whimpers.
Sirius was beside you know, laying and enjoying the show, but because he hates feeling left out used his own thumb to swipe over your aching clit and rub fast circles on it. If James hadn’t been holding you and Remus hadn’t been in front of you, you would have toppled forward, but instead, you just jolted at the sensation and a long moan left your lips.
“You gonna cum, baby?” James asked, but already knowing the answer as your cunt was squeezing and contracting around him.
You whimpered and nodded, “yes, please, can I?”
Remus looked into your eyes and smiled adoringly at you, “of course you can since you’ve been such a good girl.”
“Yeah, go ahead and cum around Prongs’ cock like the little slut you are,” Sirius’ answer was a huge contrast to Remus’s, but they both carried the same message, and you didn’t waste any time doing as they said.
Your eyes rolled back, and your body shook at the overpowering feeling of your orgasm, your cunt contracting and pulsing around James. Your vision blurry and starry as you felt James’ hips stutter and still as he finished as well, his cum mixing with your own and Sirius’.
He let you catch your breath, kissing your neck lovingly before pulling out. You fell forward into Remus’ grasp, clinging to him.
“Did so good for us, bunny,” he softly spoke as he caressed your hair.
“One more.”
“huh? You want more?” Remus looked confused between James and Sirius, you had already been going at it for quite some time and were obviously exhausted.
“Wanna be good for you, I can go more,” you spoke, voice very slurred as if you were drunk.
“You did do good… were done, baby, we’re all tired… gotta clean you up now and go to bed,” James said, stroking your back.
You lifted your face to look at Remus, your eyes filled with tears, “no, I can go again, I promise… please, I want to be good for you,” you were repeating yourself and your three boys could feel themselves starting to panic at your disheveled state.
“We can’t go again, pup, we’re all done… we can go again tomorrow,” Sirius spoke softly.
“You don’t want me anymore?” tears leaked out of your eyes as you sobbed out the words.
Sirius cooed and grabbed your trembling body, holding you tightly against him as you cried. “Of course, we want you, pup… we’re just tired… I promise we’ll go again tomorrow.”
“But y-you don’t w-want me now,” you whimpered into his neck, your tears wetting and cooling Sirius’ skin.
“We always want you, our pretty baby… if we could we wouldn’t stop, but we gotta rest now so that we can go again and again and again,” James said with a slight laugh.
“’kay, sleep and then we go again? Then I’ll be a good girl?” You said hopefully, only focusing on the promise of going again.
“You’re always our good girl, but please just come back for us,” Remus said.
You giggled at his weird statement, “I’m right here, sir.”
“You don’t need to call us sir anymore, bunny, you know that” Remus was less confused about what was going on, having read about this type of headspace that could sometimes occur, but still equally as clueless as to how to get you out of it.
“But you’re sir,” you argued, not understanding what he was getting at.
“Not anymore, pup… It’s Remmy, Jamsie and Siri,” Sirius said still confused as to why you were acting like this.
You ‘humphed’ but didn’t argue and didn’t remove yourself from Sirius – it would be bad if you argued.
“Let’s go take a bath… would you like that, Bunny?” Remus rubbed your back and coached you out of Sirius’ grasp. You nodded and let him carry you to the bathroom, as you clung to him like a koala. He set you down on the bathroom counter your face contorting in discomfort as the cool counter touched your overused cunt.
Remus started to fill the large tub with warm water to soothe your aching muscles, but still had to explain to Sirius and James what was going on with you, so he quickly thought of an excuse.
“Oh, I forgot a clean towel for you… I’ll be right back okay, bun?” He looked at you and you just nodded with a quick ‘kay’.
He quickly left the bathroom and found his two boyfriends on Sirius’ bed, both wearing sweatpants and talking quietly amongst themselves, trying to decipher your weird mood.
Remus went to stand in front of them, gaining their attention. “I gotta be quick, but I read about this in that weird muggle sex book I found… she’s just feeling a little subby and fuzzy, so we need to be really gentle with her until she’s not anymore, but I don’t know how long that’ll take… the book was quite vague about it.”
Both James and Sirius nodded and looked at each other.
“Can’t she just sleep it away?” James asked hopefully.
“No, I don’t think that’s a good idea… we need to make sure she’s completely back before we go to sleep,” Remus explained… worrying that you wouldn’t come back for a long time.
“I gotta go back to her,” Remus quickly said before grabbing a new towel for you and heading back into the bathroom.
“I’m back, bunny,” he said holding the towel up for you to see. The bathtub was completely filled, but the water was off.
“You took so long… so I turned the water off, but I sat right back down like when you left me,” you explained, hoping you wouldn’t get in trouble.
Remus placed the clean towel beside you and cupped your cheek with his large hand, “good job, bun… just had to tell James and Sirius something, but you’re such a good girl.”
The praise made you blush and lean into his touch.
He lifted you again and got into the tub with you. A long sigh left your lips as the warm water engulfed your body.
You laid against Remus’s chest, fatigue taking over your entire body as Remus washed it slowly.
James and Sirius made their way into the bathroom as well, sitting beside the bathtub on small stools they had acquired to keep you company when you were in the bath.
“Hi sirs,” you smiled, reaching your hand out for one of them to take.
James was the quickest, his quidditch skills showing as he grabbed ahold of your hand and kissing the top of it.
“Hi, baby… It’s just James now, my love,” he tried to again, but you just giggled and shook your head.
Sirius stood to get you a glass of water, hopefully clearing your head a tad.
“Here you go, be a good girl and drink up,” Sirius handed you the glass and you immediately complied, wanting to be good.
The water did clear your head a bit, but the fuzz was still swirling around and creating a static-like feel in your brain.
“So good, bunny… was that nice?” Remus gently took the glass from you and handed it back to Sirius, who put it on the bathroom counter.
“Mhmm, so nice… thank you, Siri,” you said closing your eyes and smiling, letting your head fall back against Remus again.
Sirius’s eyes widened and a smile took over his face at the use of his name. He shared a relieved look with the two other boys, glad that what they were doing was working.
The three boys sat and talked while you just smiled and relaxed, listening to them happily.
Finally, James clapped his hands together and stood to retrieve the towel Remus had gotten for you. “Okay, baby, let’s get you dried off.”
He opened the towel and Remus helped you stand and helped you out of the tub and into James’ embrace.
James dried you, whilst Sirius went to the bedroom to grab you a pair of panties and a shirt to sleep in.
Once dressed you still stood, walking over to Sirius and wrapping your arms around his torso. He quickly wrapped his arms around your body and gave it a squeeze, smiling happily and smugly at the two others who just rolled their eyes at him.
“How’re you feeling, pup,” Sirius whispered in your ear and kissing your temple.
“I’m okay, just tired,” you answered with a slightly suppressed yawn.
“Alright, let’s go to bed then,” he led you to the bedroom and towards his bed, but not forgetting to look over his shoulder to wink teasingly at your two other boyfriends because he shanghaied you into sleeping in his bed – you were just too tired to say anything about the situation.
He laid down first and waited for Remus and James to kiss you goodnight and also waiting for them to do the same to him.
Once they had, he opened the blanket for you and you happily crawled into Sirius’ warm embrace, snuggling close to him as he wrapped his arms around you.
“You feel okay… you’re not feeling fuzzy anymore, right?” Sirius whispered.
“Don’t feel fuzzy anymore, I’m okay Siri… sorry I was like that,” your voice was small and meek, feeling bad that you had acted like that.
“No need to apologize, pup… it was hot that you were so desperate for us,” he smirked and winked at you, causing you to roll your eyes.
“I love you,” you kissed his lips before closing your eyes.
“I love you too, beautiful girl.”

What do you think this has been like for me? You needed me?
Johanna shook her head
You didn’t get into any danger for about 30 minutes, then Boggs died, Peeta tried to kill Katniss, and the capitol announced to the whole world you were dead Hunger Games style. Finnick laughed at the death announcements until your own appeared.
You picked off all the remaining ones and then all was quiet.
The blast had destroyed the concrete leading to the ladder so there was no way you were escaping that way but there was another tunnel still intact.
You could taste metal in your mouth and you both kept spasming as some extra electricity escaped you but you were alive.
"It's okay" he told you and taking a deep breath you went down the steps.
Feather told you there was a mandatory lights out and that he’d have to lock you in so he could hide the room properly. That all sounded okay but when it happened you panicked, memories of nearly losing your lives in the tunnels coming back to you.

I did debate still killing Finnick off but I couldn't do it! I'm still sad he died, I honestly would've preferred Peeta or Gale to die instead, just save Finnick 😭 but they didn't so I had to write him a happy ending to give me peace of mind.
Also I know I said this would be 3 parts but I wrote too much so the ending, part 4, will be out next week!

Does Wells know? I assume this takes place during the time before he hopped onto season 7, so does he know that 6 ended?
The rain patters erratically on the kitchen window. Ghostbur's yellow sweater sleeves are rolled up his forearms as he helps Wels with the mucking of his house; thankfully, no gutting is necessary. Wels had been very uneasy about making a guest do manual labor, but it needed to be done and Ghostbur insisted that he'd rather help.
As Wels heads back upstairs to put on some clothes that aren't vaguely whore-ish pajamas, Ghostbur starts gathering all the dead plants he can find on the ground floor and placing them by the door. Given that it's still raining, he'd rather not try putting them outside. By the time Wels gets back, Ghostbur has gotten most of them already.
"Why are they by the door-- oh, you probably don't want to go in the rain, since you'd melt, huh?" Wels says, still standing on the last stair step and leaning against the balustrade.
"I'm sorry, I hope that's okay," Ghostbur says.
Wels's face softens. "You're doing more than enough already."
It feels... weird, that someone accepts his limitations and takes them in stride. It's very much a contrast to the culture of the Dream SMP. On that line of thought, Ghostbur wonders what the culture of this Hermitcraft Six server is like.
"So... are you guys called hermits because you all hide from everyone?" Ghostbur says as he snatches a roll of garbage bags from underneath the kitchen sink.
"No," Wels says, biting the pad of his thumb thoughtfully. "Normally you can spot one or two of them around somewhere... Maybe they're all hidden away in their bases because of the weather?"
He opens the front door, setting all the plant pots with their sad little dead shrubs outside one by one. Ghostbur, meanwhile, opens the ice-box (are fridges not a thing here, or is Wels just old fashioned?) and winces at the contents and their fumes. He hastily begins to stuff everything into a trash bag.
"I'll probably take a look around the server after we're done here and see if I can find someone to introduce to you," Wels says jovially, "everyone here is a wonderful person, all the hermits are very talented people! I think you'll like it here."
"I'm allowed to stay here?" Ghostbur asks in his most infantile, owl-eyed voice.
Wels sees right through it, less because he's got a good eye for it and more because he's the only one who's ever bothered. "Of course you are. Lots of hermits have come from all sorts of places; I'm sure your background isn't the weirdest!"
Ghostbur ties off his trash bag, having emptied the ice-box, and prepares a new bag for going through the pantry. He doesn't rise to the bait, and says nothing about what his background actually is.
Wels shrugs to himself. The curiosity burns at him, but Ghostbur seems nice enough. He grabs Ghostbur's first garbage bag of spoiled goods and sets it outside. This way, he'll be able to get rid of it all in one go instead of running back and forth in the rain.
"You've got some coffee that's not gone bad, and your coffeepot is still clean; mind if I put on a pot?"
Wels hums. There are several reasons Ghostbur might want coffee when the sun is undoubtedly already setting behind the storm clouds, but Wels isn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth on this one. "Make some for me, too, please?"
Ghostbur putters around in search of coffee filters, and Wels has nothing better to do so he pulls them out of their drawer and hands them over. He leans in close to the warmth of the coffeepot as Ghostbur does the same, and indulges in the way their shoulders brush as he tries to settle his own unease.
The hermits are around here somewhere. They have to be, right?
The moment passes and the two continue their cleaning, but soon enough they're mostly done and the sun is setting and if Wels doesn't go out and look for people now, he doesn't know if he ever will.
Ghostbur watches with worried white eyes as Wels stands in the doorway, ready to take off. He doesn't question what Wels's elytra is or what it does, nor why Wels has a shulker box which he can use so casually for carrying around literal garbage. Server culture must be different in Hermitcraft Six, and that's not the important thing here.
"You'll be alright?" Ghostbur asks. He clutches a steaming mug of coffee in his hands, hunched over it like he's not half a foot taller than Wels.
"I'm not the one who'll melt, remember?" Wels laughs. "It's fine; I'll be back soon."
He leaves, and Ghostbur waits.
And waits.
And waits.
And waits.
2:13 in the morning server time is when Wels finally comes back. The sky is black, with little flashes of lightning in the distance, and Wels is soaked.
His long blond hair is plastered to his head, and little rivulets flow from his crown down his neck and into the collar of his plain gray shirt, thin and far too cold and completely drenched to the point that it's the same color and opacity as Ghostbur. Ghostbur reaches out to do something, to help in any way he can, but it's not the water that makes him hesitate; at least, not the rain.
Clear streaks of warm water spring from the knight's red-rimmed eyes, tracking down his face. It looks wrong for a man so kind to be so distraught.
"I can't find them," Wels says. "They're all gone."
