Y/N’s point of view - T minus 3 days 'till Valentine’s Day
You just got home from a long day of classes. As you tug your shoes off in the entryway of the apartment you share with your boyfriend Wonwoo, all you can think about is changing out of your stuffy clothes into one of your boyfriend’s hoodies and laying on the couch until he gets home. As you make your way further into the apartment, throwing your bag onto the floor you let out a huff of frustration when you hear your phone ring. I guess my plans of relaxing are gonna have to wait, you think to yourself as you pull your phone out of your pocket.
“Hey sis.” you say once the video call connects.
“Hey! What’s up with the glum face? Rough day?” your older sister asks, her concerned face staring back at you through your screen.
“Is it that obvious?” you ask as you flop onto the couch.
“I’m your older sister, I can tell when something’s bothering you. Now spill. Do I have to punch someone?”
“Calm down, it’s not that big of a deal. I just got home from being on campus all day and I had a really long day. The group project I’m working on for my business class is taking longer than I thought it would and no one wants to step up and get the work done so it’s been like pulling teeth getting my group members to get stuff done.” you complain. “Anyways, that’s enough about my day, why’d you call?”
Your sister visibly perks and she can’t hide her excitement. “I actually called because your sweet brother-in-law just told me what he’s planning for Valentine's Day coming up.”
“I thought normally he keeps it a surprise?”
“He does, and it still kind of is. All he told me that he’s taking me on a trip somewhere tropical and warm for the whole week of Valentine’s Day.”
“OMG, really!” you exclaim. “I can’t believe he planned something so sweet for you!”
“Hey, he can be sweet when he wants to.” your sister pouts.
“Yeah, yeah, I know. When are you leaving?”
“He said we leave tomorrow, but he hasn’t told me anything else besides packing for tropical weather.”
“Wow, that sounds so romantic.”
You’re so focused on your conversation with your sister that you don’t even hear Wonwoo open the door to your shared apartment. He’s about to announce his presence when he hears your older sister ask, “So, has Wonwoo dropped any hints about any Valentine’s Day plans yet?” in a teasing tone as she wiggles her eyebrows at you. He stops with his mouth still open as he waits and listens to see what you’ll say.
“Not yet, but it’s honestly fine if we don’t do anything big and fancy. We’re both broke college students and I doubt he has time to plan a big lavish thing with his busy class schedule while taking up extra shifts at the bookstore.”
“Yeah, I get that, but don’t you have anything you want? I get that you don’t want to be a burden, even though we all know that Wonwoo sees you as the most precious person in the world, but if he were to get you anything, what do you want him to get you?”
“Hmm,” you hum to yourself as you think while Wonwoo stands at the entryway waiting patiently to see what you have to say. “You know what would be romantic? A bouquet of flowers.”
“That’s it?” your sister asks, appalled in your simple answer. “You’re so high maintenance that I thought you would say something like a necklace or something. Plus, flowers don’t last forever and this is your first Valentine’s Day together. Don’t you want something that you can remember the day by?”
Wonwoo, still glued to his position at the entryway, mentally asks you the same question. He knows you aren’t super materialistic and rarely ever take gifts from him not wanting him to waste his money on you (even though Wonwoo sees it as anything but a waste of money), but he thought that at least while talking to your sister you would say something special like jewelry. He’d been taking extra shifts at the bookstore to be able to buy you something to remember the day by.
“Yeah, I get that it’s simple, but I’ve never gotten flowers from anyone before.” you explain.
“I guess, but all you want is flowers? Nothing else?” your sister prods on.
“Well, I guess there’s something else.” Wonwoo’s ears perk as he makes a mental note to find the best flowers he can get you. You didn’t tell him that you’ve never gotten flowers before and if he had known earlier he definitely would’ve gotten them for you sooner.
“What is it?” your sister asks.
“We’ve both been really busy lately with work and school that we don’t really have a lot of time to see each other and spend quality time together. Going out for dinner or spending a night at home watching movies or playing games would be so much fun. I don’t even remember the last time we got to spend time together like that when we weren't exhausted.”
“That sounds really sweet, I hope Wonwoo will plan something like that for you.”
“Me too. Sis, I have to go, I still have so much work to do and I need to get Jihoon to focus on getting our project done as much as he focuses on making his music. I’ll call you later and have fun on your mystery vacation!”
“Bye y/n. Don’t stress too much about your project. If Jihoon doesn’t do his part, give me his number and I’ll give him a stern talking to.”
“Okay mom,” you joke as you wave and hang up on your sister.
Wonwoo sees this as the best time to make his presence known as he jiggles his keys loudly in the keyhole and acts like he’s stepping through the door for the first time today. You look up from your phone and smile.
“Hey y/n.” Wonwoo greets as he takes his shoes off and makes his way over to you. “What’re you up to?” he asks as he plants a quick kiss to your cheek.
“Hey Wonwoo. Not much, I just got off the phone with my sister.”
“Oh really, what’d you talk about?”
“Nothing much, she just called to tell me that my brother-in-law’s taking her on a trip to the tropics for Valentine’s Day.” you explain as you get up to make your way to your shared room to finally change into something comfier.
Wonwoo trails behind, listening to you continue to ramble about your day as he begins to mentally plan how to make this the best Valentine’s Day ever.
-----------
Wonwoo’s point of view - T minus 2 days 'till Valentine’s Day
The next day, all Wonwoo can think about is what kind of flowers to get you and what else he can do to make Valentine’s Day as special as possible. You hadn’t said anything about what kind of flowers you like when you were on call with your sister, and he couldn’t exactly ask you now because that would just give away his entire plan. He’s so engrossed in looking at pictures of bouquets on different florist websites that he doesn’t even notice when the professor ends class and everyone starts packing up their things.
“Hey, you coming?” Soonyoung asks him as he stands in the aisle staring at Wonwoo.
“Yeah, you’re blocking the exit and I can’t get out.” Mingyu whines as he impatiently taps his foot. “What’re you even looking at?” Mingyu asks as he leans down to steal a glance at Wonwoo’s laptop screen.
“It’s nothing.” Wonwoo replies nonchalantly as he tries to close his laptop before Mingyu can see, but to no avail.
“Really? Because it looks like someone’s looking for flowers to buy for a special someone named y/n for a special day coming up.” Mingyu teases as Wonwoo’s ears turn red. This is exactly why he didn’t want his friends to see what he was up to. I guess the cat’s out of the bag now. Wonwoo thinks as he packs up his things.
“Wow, I didn’t know Wonwoo was so whipped. Look at his ears, Gyu, he’s shyyy.” Soonyoung teases as Mingyu and him burst into giggles.
“Yeah, I was looking for flowers for my girlfriend, is that a crime?” Wonwoo asks.
“No it’s not, but it’s fun to make fun of you.” Soonyoung responds as the trio makes their way out of the lecture hall to grab a bite to eat at the dining hall.
“Besides, aren’t flowers a really basic gift? Where’s the heart? Where’s the romance? Where’s the uniqueness?” Mingyu asks as they step out into the cold.
“Yeah!” Soonyoung agrees loudly. “I thought you’re obsessed with her? I thought you would get her a bracelet or something. Oh, oh, oh! Or you could get her a necklace with a W on it like Troy gave Gabriella at the beginning of High School Musical 2! That scene made my heart flutter.”
“Well, Soonyoung, I’m not trying to make your heart flutter, I’m trying to make y/n’s heart flutter. And you two can complain about flowers being the least romantic thing in the world, but I heard y/n on the phone with her sister yesterday when I got home. She asked y/n what she wants for Valentine’s Day and she said flowers because no one’s gotten her flowers before.” Wonwoo explains to his friends hoping that they’ll be satisfied with this answer and they’ll drop the subject.
“Aww, that’s so sweet.” Soonyoung coos.
“But, you’re not just getting her flowers, right? Are you planning anything else?” Mingyu asks as they finally enter the warmth of the dining hall.
“Well, I’m trying to plan what else we could do. When she was on the phone, y/n said she wanted to do something where we could really spend time together because we’ve both been so busy recently.”
“Wow, she really gave you a step by step guide of what she wants.” Soonyoung admires.
“Well, she actually gave her sister a step by step guide. Wonwoo here was just lucky and was in the right place at the right time.” Mingyu corrects.
“I guess you could say that, but I still need to plan the details. She said she wanted flowers, but nothing about what kind of flowers and she didn’t even say what she wants to do together. All she said was that she wants to spend time together, but I don’t know what we could do together.” Wonwoo complains as they make their way over to grab their food.
“I would suggest you cook her a nice dinner, but that’s off the table since we all know you can’t cook to save your life.” Soonyoung says as they make their way to an empty table.
“It’s not like you’re any better Soonyoung.” Wonwoo teases back. “I’m sure I’ll figure something out, I want to make sure it’s something she actually enjoys.”
The conversation eventually shifts, but Wonwoo can’t stop thinking about what to do on Valentine’s Day.
-----------
Y/N’s point of view - Valentine’s Day
As you make your way back to your apartment after your classes, you can’t help but feel like there’s something off with Wonwoo recently. He’s been so engrossed in his thoughts that it’s like he’s on another planet sometimes. You wonder if he even remembers today's Valentine’s Day because he hasn’t brought it up at all. You decide not to get your hopes up as you walk out of the elevator. He’s busy so you understand if he completely forgot about it. Maybe you could get him to watch a movie with you tonight just to spend some time together.
“Wonwoo, I’m home!” you say as you walk through the door.
You’re so focused on getting your shoes off that you don’t even notice the state of your apartment until you step farther into the apartment. When you finally look up, you see it. There are tea candles all around the kitchen island, red rose petals scattered around the island, little paper hearts stringed together to make a garland around the edge of the island, and standing there next to this beautiful display is Wonwoo in a cute burgundy polo sweater and jeans. In the middle of the island sits a bouquet of pink roses.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” Wonwoo says as he makes his way towards you with a smile on his face. As he reaches down to take your bag from your hands, he notices the tears welling in your eyes.
“Y/n, are you okay? Why are you crying? Do you not like it?” Wonwoo asks, concern laced in his voice.
“No, I’m fine. I love it so much, Wonwoo. It’s so pretty. No one’s ever done anything so thoughtful for me.” you explain, blinking away your tears and Wonwoo visibly relaxes.
“I’m glad you like it, but that’s not all.”
“Really? You didn’t need to do anything else, this is already so much.”
“This is barely scratching the surface. Now close your eyes, I have another gift to give you.”
“Wow so many surprises today, I must be the luckiest girl in the world.” you say as you close your eyes.
You hear Wonwoo pull something out of his pocket and a few seconds later you feel his hands gently lifting your hair away from your neck. You feel the cold metal of a necklace against your skin and shiver causing Wonwoo to chuckle.
“You can open your eyes now.” Wonwoo says as he fixes your hair.
You look down at your neck and you see a beautiful gold chain with a cursive W pendant. You look up at him with shock as you say “Wow, Wonwoo this is beautiful.”
“Really? I wasn’t sure if you’d like it.” He says sheepishly as he rubs the back of his neck.
“I love it, it’s gorgeous.” You say as you go up on your tiptoes to plant a kiss to his lips. “It’s like we’re Troy and Gabriella from High School Musical.” you joke.
“That’s funny, that’s exactly what Soonyoung said.” Wonwoo laughs. “Well this isn’t all, I still have more planned.”
“Jeon Wonwoo!” you gasp out, “How much more are you going to spoil me today?”
“Definitely not as much as I want to, but it’ll have to do for now. You don’t even know what I have planned, you can’t be mad yet.”
“I guess so. Enlighten me then Wonwoo, what else do you have up your sleeve?”
“I ordered take out from your favorite restaurant so we could have a night in together. We’ve both been so busy these past few weeks with school and work that I thought it would be nice to eat together and catch up on what’s been going on.”
“Wonwoo, that’s so sweet, I can’t believe you planned all of this for me.”
As you both work to unpack all of the food Wonwoo bought, you slip into comfortable conversation asking each other questions about your day. As you sit across from each other to begin eating your meal, you can’t help but think to yourself how lucky you are to have the sweetest boyfriend ever. As Wonwoo reaches over to put some food on your plate, you say “I love you.” as you stare lovingly into his eyes.
“Yeah? I love you too, y/n.” Wonwoo replies as he takes your hand in his and brings it up to his lips to place a chaste kiss on your hand.
Yeah, you’re definitely the luckiest girl in the world.

A/N: Happy Carat's Day! This is my first ever fic and I am not sure how this will go. This story is just an idea that has been in my drafts for ages. I hope you like it! Cross-posting it here cause my other account is pretty new and this is not showing up in search results
Tumblr media
The harsh hum of the photocopier and the distant murmur of office life formed the backdrop as I stared at my screen, which had just received a notification of an email. The subject line sent a ripple of anticipation through me: "Collaboration Partner Assignment."
Opening the email, my eyes quickly scanned the details. I braced myself for the revelation, but nothing could have prepared me for the name that leaped off the screen – Kim Mingyu. My stomach churned, though I couldn't pinpoint why. Maybe it was the mounting pressure of the project or the unfamiliarity of working with someone from another company. A wave of discomfort washed over me as memories of college days resurfaced, memories I had long buried because of the same name! But it couldn’t be him, right?
I had hoped to leave the shadows of the past behind, but fate had different plans. Mingyu, a name that had once been sY/nonymous with popularity and my own insecurities, was now set to become an integral part of my professional life.
Navigating the familiar hallways towards the designated meeting room, my steps carried the weight of unspoken history. The door creaked open, revealing Mingyu already seated, his eyes lifting from a set of project documents to meet mine. A knowing smile played on his lips, oblivious to the turmoil brewing within me. It was him, Kim Mingyu!
"Y/n, right?" he said, extending a hand in greeting. "I'm Mingyu. Looks like we're going to be partners on this project."
I hesitated for a moment before accepting the handshake. "Yes, Y/n. Nice to meet you."
The sterile hum of the office's fluorescent lights set the stage for a reunion neither of us had anticipated. Mingyu, a name echoing through the corridors of my past, now sat across from me in a conference room. His smile seemed to mock my silent discomfort, reminiscent of college days where he effortlessly commanded popularity, and I existed on the fringes.
"Ready to dive into this project together?" Mingyu's voice snapped me back to the present, his expression oblivious to the tumult of memories that threatened to overwhelm me.
"Sure," I replied, my voice masking the unease within. The corporate battleground was familiar, but the arrival of Mingyu resurrected a dormant storm.
As we settled into the collaborative routine, Mingyu's attempts to get to know me became increasingly apparent. In team meetings, he'd throw casual questions my way, trying to unearth the person behind the professional facade.
"So, Y/n, any exciting plans for the weekend?" he'd ask, a playful twinkle in his eye.
"Same as always," I'd reply, nonchalant. I wasn't one to divulge personal details easily.
But Mingyu was persistent, undeterred by my guarded responses. "Come on, Y/n, there must be something you enjoy doing outside of work. Hobbies? Interests?"
His inquiry probed deeper than the surface, seeking to unravel the layers I had meticulously wrapped around myself. "Not really," I'd brush off, maintaining a stoic demeanour.
In the break room, he'd invite me to join him for a coffee, hoping to chip away at the walls I'd built. "Coffee break, Y/n? It's on me," he'd offer, a friendly smile playing on his lips.
"Thanks, but I prefer working through breaks," I'd decline, my gaze fixed on the computer screen.
Mingyu, always the optimist, remained undeterred by my cool demeanour. "Alright, next time then," he'd say, masking any disappointment that might have lingered beneath the surface.
Our interactions, or lack thereof, became a dance of casual questions met with guarded replies. It wasn't that I didn't notice Mingyu's efforts – I did. The truth was, I had carefully crafted my isolation, and I wasn't eager to let anyone in.
One day, as we reviewed project details, Mingyu tried a different approach. "Y/n, we make a good team, you know? But it would be even better if we understood each other a bit more. What do you say?"
His words held a sincerity that caught me off guard. Maybe it was the vulnerability in his eyes or the genuine desire to bridge the gap. I sighed, relenting just a bit. "Look, Mingyu, it's nothing personal. I'm just here to get the job done."
He nodded, understanding but undeterred. "Fair enough, Y/n. I respect that. Just know, I'm here if you ever want to talk."
The unspoken hurt lingered beneath the surface, but Mingyu never let it show. His attempts to befriend me continued, even if they were met with my persistent nonchalance.
In another attempt to connect, he invited me to a team dinner. "Y/n, we've been working together for a while now. Let's celebrate our progress. What do you say?"
I hesitated, then finally relented, "Fine, but just for a little while."
As the evening unfolded, I found myself in an unexpected situation – Mingyu's infectious charm gradually wearing down my defences. We laughed, shared stories, and for a brief moment, the professional barriers faded.
In the midst of the camaraderie, Mingyu leaned in and said, "See, Y/n? We're not that different after all."
I couldn't help but smile, the walls I had so carefully constructed showing signs of cracking. Mingyu's efforts were slowly paying off, breaking through the layers that shielded me from the world.
As we left the restaurant that night, I couldn't deny the shift in dynamics. Mingyu, once an unwelcome intruder from the past, had become a persistent presence in my present – a presence I was starting to appreciate, even if I wasn't quite ready to admit it.
The echoes of our team dinner lingered in the air as Mingyu and I left the restaurant. Laughter and camaraderie had briefly bridged the gap, but as we stepped back into the office building, I retreated into my familiar shell. The nonchalant exterior was my armour, and I wore it with practised ease.
Days passed, and Mingyu's efforts to break through my walls persisted, but my responses remained unchanged – short, guarded, and distant. The unspoken hurt beneath his eyes grew more evident with each interaction, until one day, frustration etched across his face.
As I sat at my desk, engrossed in my work, Mingyu approached, a determined expression on his face. "Y/n, we need to talk. Meet me in the meeting room in fifteen minutes," he said, his voice carrying a firmness I hadn't heard before.
I raised an eyebrow, caught off guard by the sudden shift in his demeanour. "Sure, whatever," I replied, my tone as indifferent as ever.
The meeting room, a neutral ground for professional discussions, now became the stage for an unexpected confrontation. As I entered, Mingyu was already there, his arms crossed, and a look of frustration etched across his features.
"What's your deal, Y/n?" he began, his voice tinged with a mix of anger and hurt. "I've been trying to get to know you, to be a good teammate, but every attempt is met with this... this wall you've built. What are you so afraid of?"
I sighed, my nonchalant facade momentarily faltering. "Mingyu, I'm not afraid of anything. I'm just here to work, not make friends."
His frustration bubbled to the surface. "You don't have to make it so difficult, Y/n. We're part of the same team, working towards the same goal. Why can't we at least get along?"
I leaned back in my chair, the familiar defences back in place. "Getting along is not a requirement for getting the job done."
Mingyu's eyes flashed with a mix of anger and disappointment. "It's not just about the job, Y/n. We spend a significant portion of our lives working together. Why make it miserable for both of us?"
His words struck a chord, a brief pang of guilt flickering within me. But I couldn't let him see it. "Mingyu, I have my reasons for keeping things professional. Let's just focus on the project and leave it at that."
He leaned in, his frustration giving way to a determination that mirrored the spark in his eyes. "Fine, Y/n. If that's how you want it, we'll keep it strictly professional. But know that it doesn't have to be this way."
Mingyu's proposal hung in the air, and for a moment, I considered the possibility of a truce – a ceasefire in the silent war that had defined our collaboration. The weight of his words pressed upon me, and I decided to break the stoic facade, if only for a moment.
"Fine," I responded, my tone betraying a hint of resignation. "Let's keep it professional."
As the days passed, our interactions adhered to the newfound agreement. Work discussions unfolded without the previous tension, and the strained atmosphere began to ease. However, beneath the surface, the unspoken distance lingered, a reminder of the unresolved history that bound us.
Late one evening, as the office lights flickered in the waning hours, Mingyu and I found ourselves alone in the workspace. The hum of computers and distant traffic outside seemed to amplify the silence between us. Mingyu broke the quiet, his voice softer than before.
"Y/n, there's something I need to know. The tension between us... is it just about work, or is there something more?" His gaze bore into mine, a silent plea for honesty.
I hesitated, contemplating whether to unravel the layers that guarded my past. In that moment, I decided to breach the unspoken barrier. "It's not just about work, Mingyu. There's history – a rumour that tainted my college years, and I believed you were behind it."
His eyes widened, a mix of surprise and realisation flickering across his features. "Rumour? What rumour are you talking about?"
College, a realm of possibilities, unfolded before me. Amid vibrant campus life, I preferred solitude, finding solace in the quiet corners of the library. My routine, a sanctuary, was disrupted when a rumor about me and Mingyu, the campus heartthrob, began to circulate.
Whispers painted a false picture – a rejected proposal, a scornful comment. The rumor, like wildfire, labeled me as the girl who dared to confess, only to face ridicule. My once-unnoticed existence transformed into isolation as judgmental gazes and hurtful labels became my companions.
The most painful aspect was the misunderstanding – the lie that branded me a loner, rejected and ridiculed. The library, my refuge, now felt like a glass house, the rumor exposing me to the harsh scrutiny of others.
Mingyu, oblivious to the storm, continued his life, while I bore the weight of fabricated rejection. The rumor, a dark shadow, cast a long-lasting mark on my college experience. The isolation, self-imposed or not, became my reality.
"The one where it was said I proposed to you in college, and you rejected me, saying you'd never date a loner like me," I confessed, my voice holding the weight of years of perceived betrayal.
Mingyu's expression shifted from surprise to understanding, a furrow forming on his brow. "Y/n, I never spread that rumor. In fact, I had no idea it existed until now. In fact, I wanted to be friends with you back then and expressed it to some of my friends!"
My defenses faltered as the revelation sank in. The narrative I had carried for years, the resentment that fueled our strained collaboration, crumbled like a fragile facade. "But... why would someone spread such a thing?"
Mingyu's eyes softened with sincerity. "I don't know, Y/n. But I promise you, it wasn't me. I regret that you went through that, and I wish I could've been there to clarify things."
The weight of the misunderstanding hung heavy in the room. Mingyu's admission brought forth a vulnerability I hadn't expected, and the unspoken tension that defined our collaboration began to unravel. As we navigate the murky waters of our shared history, the silence transformed into a hesitant dialogue.
"Maybe," he began, choosing his words carefully, "we can move past this together. Start anew, without the burden of misunderstandings."
In the quiet office, Mingyu and I shared a moment where words seemed unnecessary. His hand found mine, a gentle intertwining of fingers that spoke volumes. Leaning in, he kissed me with a tenderness that felt like an unspoken apology.
The kiss was slow, each movement deliberate, as if time itself had slowed down. Mingyu's lips met mine in a dance of connection, a soft exploration that conveyed a shared understanding. It wasn't just a kiss; it was a promise – a promise to let go of the past and embrace the possibility of something new.
As our lips lingered in the gentle exchange, the weight of misunderstandings lifted. Mingyu's touch, comforting and sincere, became a bridge that spanned the distance between us.
The air shifted after the shared kiss, the unspoken tension replaced by a newfound understanding. Mingyu, eyes reflecting a mixture of vulnerability and sincerity, gently pulled away, creating a space for words to bridge the lingering gap.
"Y/n," he began, his voice carrying the weight of unspoken sentiments, "there's something I'd like to propose."
I met his gaze, a silent invitation to continue.
"How about we take a step into the present? Leave the office behind for a while, just you and me. What do you say to a dinner? A date, maybe?" Mingyu's words hung in the air, a simple yet profound invitation.
The corners of my lips twitched into a hesitant smile, the remnants of the emotional whirlwind we had just weathered. "A date?" I echoed, the word carrying a hint of both surprise and curiosity.
Mingyu nodded, his eyes holding a hopeful gleam. "Yes, a date. No work, no misunderstandings – just two people sharing a meal and getting to know each other beyond the confines of the office."
The idea, once foreign, now seemed like a welcome proposition. A chance to rewrite the script, explore the uncharted territories of this evolving connection. "I suppose a dinner sounds nice," I conceded, the tension replaced by a sense of openness.
His face broke into a radiant smile, the lines of relief and excitement mingling. "Great! How about tomorrow night? I know a place not far from here. Casual, nothing too fancy. What do you think?"
Tomorrow night – a prospect that carried the promise of a fresh beginning. I found myself nodding, the corners of my own lips forming a genuine smile. "Tomorrow night sounds good."
Mingyu's joy was palpable, and as he pulled out his phone to exchange details, the office surroundings seemed to fade into the background. In the quiet aftermath of a shared kiss, the invitation extended marked a turning point – a step away from the weight of the past and into the possibilities of the present.
As we finalised the plans, Mingyu's gaze held a promise – a promise of a date that transcended the ordinary, a date that hinted at the potential for something more. The unspoken tension that had defined our collaboration was replaced by the anticipation of a shared meal, laughter, and the uncharted journey that lay ahead.

Your mouth formed into a little smile, just like his. You hummed, acknowledging his word as calling out to you.
Making him sit down on your side of the bed once again, and caressing your hair, feeling you laying your head on his thigh with your eyes already closed for the second time.
He kissed your forehead softly, caressing your cheek as you bathed in his love and the comfort of your warm bedsheets.
“Do you want to get up or still lie down a bit?” Seokmin whispered, not wanting to be too loud and interrupting the peace you both were at.
Only to see you shaking your head gently, still laying on his thigh like it was your pillow. “Can we cuddle before I get up?” You mumbled.
But your boyfriend could understand every single thing that you said, even if it was the most quietest, most mumbled, sentence in the world. He’d understand it without a single problem.
So he did, he climbed back into bed, and gently spooned you into his chest. Giving your forehead a small kiss for the second time this morning.
You both laid there for some minutes, until he broke the comfortable, and sleepy making, silence once again with a whisper. Asking you, if you knew, what day it was today.
“Of course, it’s Saturday morning. The day we have to us only, and only us, my love.” You replied, a smile sneaking onto your lips as you snuggled yourself more into your boyfriend.
He only laughed gently, shaking his head slightly, which you could feel due to his chin resting on the top of your head. “It’s Valentine’s day, baby, that means we can’t stay in bed too long.”
You opened your eyes and looked at him, still looking exhausted from work yesterday. You gasped quietly, a yawn escaping from you as you were too abrupt with your small gasp.
“Come on, get up, I made breakfast.” He said, getting up from bed. He only felt your hand trying to grab after him, since he felt the small wave of air against his pajama shirt’s back.
You then also, with a small complaining huff, slipped out of bed. Quickly smiling as you followed your boyfriend to the balcony. Only to see your favorite coffee and heart shaped strawberry pancakes on the table.
Grinning at your boyfriend you went over to him and hugged him tightly, and when you broke the hug your eyes widened.
His immediately widened in shock too, asking if something was wrong. Until you rushed back inside, telling him to stay on the balcony. Slightly louder than you intended to, but before he could complain he saw you.
You. With a bouquet of beautiful flowers. It was the prettiest sight he’d ever seen. And the most perfect one to be exact.
His face turned into a whining one with frowned eyebrows, but not in a negative way. It was in the most loving and appreciating way, possible.
“That’s for my beautiful boyfriend, Seokmin.” You said proudly, getting slightly up on your tippy toes to kiss him. And oh lord, he was so ready for that kiss.
He would’ve cried out of happiness, but then he remembered he also had something. So he quickly kissed you too and rushed inside like you did.
You felt so impatient, since you were curious about what Seokmin had for you. Though you reminded yourself that he waited too, so you sat down and admired the beautiful and well made food. This alone would’ve been enough for you, since you knew it came from him.
A shining Seokmin came back to the balcony, but.. nothing was in his hands? Wait- no, his hands were behind his back.
“Baby, what do you have there?” You said, as you sat on the balcony chair.
After you asked, he pulled out a lego rose and two necklaces. Sitting down in the chair, opposite from you before he began speaking.
“This lego rose is for you, so you’ll have a flower that’ll never get bad or loose rose petals,” He exclaimed excitedly, but still oh so calm.
“..and these are two necklaces— as you can see. One’s for you, see, it’s a little S! And mine’s, of course, your initial.” He chirped, practically beaming.
You stood up from your seat and hugged him in his seat again, so touched that you teared up a bit.
He was your everything, and you were his.
The ones that were like two puzzle pieces everyone knew that they’d be fitting together perfectly.
The sun, and the sunflower. One being guided through shadow by the other. Every, single, time.
“I love you, Y/n.” Seokmin smiled, chuckling about your lovely crying, and kissing your tears away.
“I love you too, Seok.” You lightly cried. Appreciating that this man, is the love of your life.
The ones, that couldn’t live and wouldn’t want to without each other.
That was the definition of you and Seokmin.

You Found Me
Tumblr media
Lee Seokmin (DK) x Gender Neutral Reader
Genre: fluff, established relationship au
Word Count: 2k
Warnings: mentions of food, absolutely tooth rotting fluff
Rating: PG-13
A/N: This is for svthub’s Cupid For You collab
Surprise twinnie! @the-boy-meets-evil I was your cupid 😈 I had sooo much fun sending you asks and writing things in a way that I wouldn’t normally so you wouldn’t think it was me. I also was so happy to write this for you. I hope you like it! Special thanks to my dear daughter @starlitmark for looking this over and confirming that it achieved what I intended (and then some)🥺 ~Bee
Tumblr media
Your eyes fluttered open as sunlight warmed the bed. You rolled over, expecting to find Seokmin on the other side of you, but to your surprise, his space was empty. Instead, you found a yellow heart-shaped note on his pillow with the words ‘open me’ on the front.
You laughed a little. Your boyfriend was always coming up with different romantic gestures. You slowly unfolded the heart and smoothed out the paper enough to read what he had written.
Good morning, love,
Happy Valentine’s Day! I’ve prepared a scavenger hunt of sorts for you. Each place will have a note for you explaining the next place and why I chose the place you are at. But first things first, go downstairs, and you will find breakfast that I made for you (hopefully, it doesn’t taste bad). I’ll be waiting for you at the very last place. I love you!
~ Your Sunshine
You were a little excited about this. He hadn’t planned anything of this magnitude in the 3 years you had been together. Stretching, you flipped the covers off as you contemplated what clothes would be best to wear for a scavenger hunt. You settled on jeans and a short-sleeved shirt and would grab a sweater on the way out in case you got cold.
After getting ready, you made your way downstairs to the kitchen. You found yourself smiling as you looked at the several dishes Seokmin had set out on the kitchen island and you had absolutely no doubt that Mingyu either helped him with it or made some of them all together.
The aroma of coffee tickled your nose the further into the kitchen you got and you found he had made you a pot of coffee as well, leaving your favorite mug out for you. Next to the mug was another folded-up heart. This one instructed you to wait until you were done eating to open it.
You poured yourself a cup of coffee and grabbed a plate, eager to eat the breakfast he must have spent so much time making. Most of the dishes were simple, but one or two were a little more complicated and you knew Mingyu must have helped with those. You put a little of each dish on your plate and sat down on one of the stools at the edge of the island to eat. You wished Seokmin was here to enjoy it with you, but you understood how much work a scavenger hunt was and took in the slow, quiet morning.
A little while later, you were draining the last bit of your coffee, wondering what Seokmin had in store for you next. You put your plate and mug in the dishwasher and put leftovers away in the fridge. They would no doubt be yummy later, too. Sitting down once again, you opened the second heart note.
Hi love,
Did you enjoy breakfast? I hope it was good, and I’m sure you figured out I had help for the harder items haha. I’m not sure you knew this, but I actually knew who you were before Seungkwan set us up on that blind date and was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was you (obviously). Below are the coordinates of the place where I saw you and noticed you first. When you get there, let the front desk know who you are, and they will give you the next note.
The place he saw you first? What did that mean? You put the coordinates into your phone as you contemplated what he could have possibly meant and cocked your head at the location that came up. You had spent a lot of time there during your early college days and also right about the time that you were set up on the blind date. You were definitely curious.
Tumblr media
You walked into the familiar record shop and cafe where you spent much of your college time studying. The shop was always warm, had good coffee, and played the best music. When you took breaks from your nose being in a book, you would browse the records at the back of the room to see if something caught your eye.
You were surprised that nothing about the place had changed, except for the workers, but you knew they employed mostly college students looking for some extra cash. You felt a little awkward going up to the desk at the front and asking about a random note. However, you did it anyway.
“Can I help you?” The boy at the counter asked.
“Hi, I know this sounds weird, but my name is Y/N. Someone left a note here for me?” You cringed at how uneasy you sounded.
“Oh! Yeah, I have it here,” he confirmed and picked up the purple paper from the counter behind him, “I must admit, this is the first time I’ve ever helped with a scavenger hunt. That boyfriend of yours seems very inventive.”
You took the folded paper with a laugh. “He is.” You turned around and walked to a spot out of the way, and you opened the purple heart.
My angel,
I bet you have no clue why I brought you here, but I want you to go sit at the table you always used to sit at when you were here.
You paused for a moment and looked around the little shop. It was pretty quiet, and you were lucky enough that your spot was empty. You made your way to the tiny table tucked in the corner at the end of the record shelves, sitting in the big leather chair before you continued reading.
Now, look directly across from you. Do you see the couch near the window? One day, I came to study and sat on that couch. While taking a break from studying, I decided to look around the shop, and the most beautiful person caught my eye. I came again the next, hoping to see that beautiful person again. I came week after week, noticing all the cute little quirks you had, and found myself slowly falling in love with you.
Then, when it was you at the blind date Seungkwan set up, I knew it was fate. Which brings me to telling you your next location: the park where we had our blind date and where you asked me to be your boyfriend. You’ll go and ride a bike like we did that day, and your next note will be with the attendant when you return the bicycle.
Have fun!
Tumblr media
Luckily, the park was not far from the record shop, and it didn’t take you long to walk there. It was a little brisk out, but you enjoyed it nonetheless. You walked through the center of the park, past grassy hills perfect for picnics. You passed the very bench under a large maple tree, where you had sat waiting for the man who was your blind date. You remembered how nervous you were, but somehow, it had all disappeared when Seokmin had arrived, and your eyes met his.
Everything had felt so natural with him that entire date. Any apprehension you would have normally had toward someone you just met didn’t exist, and you didn’t feel the need to be on your best behavior. You felt like you could be nothing less than yourself with him. That’s why you were so bold as to ask him to be your boyfriend at the end of the date. You didn’t want to miss any opportunity with him. And he had happily accepted.
You made your way to the far end of the park, where the bicycle rentals were located. You talked to the attendant and obtained a key to unlock one of the bikes on the rack. When you and Seokmin were here, you had rented a couple’s bicycle. You giggled as you once again thought back to that day. You had wrapped your arms around his waist one time when he peddled extra fast and could feel his surprised intake of breath, could practically see the warmth spreading across his cheeks. It was adorable. He was adorable.
You pulled the bike out to the sidewalk and got on. You decided to ride it along the west side of the park, where the river banked up against it. You peddled around, enjoying the light breeze that blew through your hair. It may have been February, but it was unseasonably warm, and the wind only had a light chill to it. You could hear the sounds of children playing in the grass as you passed, and the earthy smell of the river tickled your nose. It was a very relaxing bike ride.
After making a full circle around the park, you brought the bicycle back to its home. You locked it back up against the rack, then went back to the attendant to return the key and obtain your next letter. The attendant smiled when she exchanged the key for the folded heart, this one bright red.
Hi sweetheart,
This is your last letter on this scavenger hunt. I hope you enjoyed reminiscing about our beginning. I sure did when I was preparing everything for you. I had many memories in mind for the next location: our first kiss, our first fight, when we decided to move in together. However, I decided that the final location should be somewhere completely new. A new memory for us to make.
So, I turned the GPS from my phone on, and it will tell you where I am. Come and find me. I’ll see you soon.
~Always, Seokmin
Tumblr media
You had to take the bus this time. While you lived near the sea, you didn’t live close enough to it without taking some sort of transportation to get there. Seokmin’s GPS had indicated he was somewhere just off the boardwalk. You walked along it, getting closer and closer to his location dot and the scent of seawater getting stronger. You accidentally passed it slightly and stopped to look around when you noticed a man standing on the beach with his back to you.
You walked down a set of steps coming from the boardwalk into the sand, and Seokmin turned around upon hearing you approach. “You found me,” he said, a wide smile stretching across his face and lighting his eyes up. He walked to meet you, handing you the bouquet of colorful lilies he held. Taking your free hand, he led you to a blanket that was set up a few feet away.
He led you to sit down and took his seat next to you, hands never letting go of yours. You set the flowers down on the edge of the blanket and sat in a contented silence with Seokmin for a little while. You watched the ocean waves crash in the distance, sea foam forming at the edges as he played with your fingers.
Finally, he spoke into the comfortable silence, “I may have noticed you first, but you made me feel completely seen. You immediately saw how hard I work and the care I put into everything. You found me.” Seokmin said, his brown eyes piercing into yours and that ever-sparkling smile on his face. “Happy Valentine’s Day, my love,” he said.
Your grin matched his. “Happy Valentine’s Day. I love you, my Sun,” you said back and leaned in to kiss him. Your favorite feeling of warmth engulfed you as your lips pressed lightly against his. He moved his against yours languidly, making the moment slow in time.
Eventually, he pulled away to say, “I love you too,” just as oranges and pinks from the sunset started painting parts of the sky. You thought back to the letter from the record shop and decided that fate most certainly had its plans back then and helped you find each other.

Tumblr media
feburary 14 (3:14 am)
— u up?
you scramble for your phone as your heart beats out of your chest, the mindless scrolling through your 'for you' page ending in that moment he texted you.
what is he doing at this ungodly hour? why was he texting you?
yeah —
— coming over in 5
no. he can't come. he just can't.
you try to text back to refuse, but he had already gone offline. you sigh as you sink into your mattress, turning off your phone as you wait for him to appear at your doorstep.
lee chan. the bane of your existence if you were to summarise your experience with him. on and off relationships, meaningless hookups, unanswered texts about what you two were, what label to put on your relationship — he was the red flag package deal. and yet, somehow, you couldn’t bring yourself to actually cut things off with him. while he was all of the above, he made you feel loved, made you feel special with the way every single moment spent with him were the most exhilarating and euphoric moments, chan making sure to hug and kiss every inch of your body while he can, and handling your body with such care, as if you would crumble beneath his fingertips.
lee chan was playing you, and he was good at it.
a couple minutes later, you heard a knock at your door, and you immediately jolt up, your heart palpitating as you pull the covers off of you. once you finally reach the door, you pull it open to see chan leaning against the frame of your door, smirking down at you.
“i knew you’d answer me.” he pats your cheek softly before walking into your dorm uninvited.
“chan-”
“did you rearrange your place? shame, i finally had your dorm layout memorised so i wouldn’t bump into anything while we-”
“chan.” you sternly raise your voice, catching him off guard. he stares back at you, his eyebrow quirked up as he stood there, his hands shoved in his jeans.
“i…i don’t think we should do this anymore.” you stare into chan’s face, your face burning as chan’s eyes bore into yours, his expression morphing into one of slight confusion, a glint of enjoyment flitting across his features as he stalks towards you.
“baby, you're not serious, right? why would you want to let go of this…us?” he moves closer to you, holding you as he soothingly rubs your forearms. you shake your head, trying to squirm out of his grasp as his face lowers down to yours. “you’re my favourite, don’t you know that?” he mutters.
“no.” you push him away, your breathing growing more panicked. “chan, you and i both want completely different things. we are on opposite sides. this isn’t going to work out.” your voice trembles as you move towards your door, feeling cornered as chan continues to move closer to you. he towers over you as you shrink into yourself, feeling completely powerless and helpless.
“but i give you those things you desire, no? and you give me what i want." he tilts his head in mock confusion.
"y/n, honey, we’re two sides on the same coin. we need each other, why would you think something like that?” you can sense the tinge of hostility and toxicity behind his tone as he narrows his eyes at you, reaching his hand out to caress your face. you subconsciously lean into his touch, tears pooling in your eyes as you try to say anything to get out of this monstrosity of a situationship.
“then…then what are we? we’re not dating, you’re not my boyfriend…you hook up with tens of other girls on campus. i want someone who’ll stay loyal to me.” you sputter out, trying to compose yourself to your best ability as chan just laughs lightly, as if you were just stating a silly habit he had.
“we…we’re…we’re, y’know…” you look at him expectantly as chan looks slightly irritated at your persistence, huffing slightly.
“baby, look-”
“no. i don’t want to hear it. i’m tired of the mixed signals. if you’re not going to commit to a relationship, then don’t talk to me.” you cut him off, glaring up at him. you can see chan poking at his cheek with his tongue before he grabs you tightly by your shoulders, catching you off guard as he lowers his face down to yours, glaring at you.
“what, you think you’re special? special enough to have me as your boyfriend?” he mockingly laughs. “honey, there are tons of girls who are dying out there to just have sex with me, and you’re really going to leave all that just because you want to be in a relationship?” chan asks in a condescending manner, and you feel your heart drop to the pit in your stomach. you’ve only seen him get like this whenever he didn’t get his way with other people: his brown eyes filled with belittlement, as if you were a mere inconvenience in his way. his breathing was slowly getting erratic, he’s losing his patience.
lee chan was getting mad at you.
“i don’t know you, i don’t care whether i know you or not. i just saw you on campus, thought you were hot, and just had you to myself, just like other girls. i didn’t talk to you because i liked you.” he sneers, looking you up and down. tears pooled in your eyes as you stared up at chan in disbelief. “you and i do not have any kind of romantic relationship, i’ll tell you that. you want a label on this? fine: we’re just fuckbuddies. nothing more, nothing less.”
“if you’re gonna try crossing the line with all that relationship shit again, then i’m gonna have to just stop what we have, y/n. because i don’t want some brat that bitches about having me to themselves, got it?” he glowers at you. his face was now mere inches away from yours as tears were rolling down your face. you slowly nod before chan stands up straight again, patting your face again as he smiles.
“good girl. now i came here for a reason, ” chan sits down on your bed, smirking at you across the room as you’re still in the corner of the room, hastily wiping your tears before walking over to him. once you’re close enough, he grabs your waist tenderly as he rubs soft circles into your skin, grinning like a wolf while he looks your body up and down, making you feel exposed.
your face grows hot as seconds continue to tick by, and you’re taken aback as chan suddenly stands up, flipping you both around and throwing you onto the bed before he leans over you, leaning down beside your ear as you felt chills run down your body. your heart shatters even more when he whispers:
“happy valentines day, baby.”

just saw your love in the air post and i love the idea! could you do hoshi and “making the most of this day and getting as many kisses out of you as they can” he came to mind right away after seeing that prompt😭😭
valentines day event | thank you for sending in something!
Tumblr media
you really didn't think hoshi was going to act like this today and you wake up confused, hoshi jumping at the chance to give you a morning kiss. he grins at you as you blink at him, sleepiness still in your eyes. "what's gotten into you today?", you ask. you glance at the time on your phone and your eyes look at the date - february 14th...of course.
you smile. "happy valentine's my love", he says, leaning in to kiss you once more. he doesn't stop there. he presses a soft kiss on your nose and both your cheeks, making you chuckle.
the next kiss was just as you were leaving for a work errand. he'd block your path, looking at you expectantly, his head tilted to the side cutely. he grins before leaning in to capture your lips, kissing you. and you give in, melting at the feeling as you kiss him back. "you're going to make me late", you mumble, pulling away but he's still so close.
and when you come back, expect more kisses. he would just find some excuse or the other to kiss you, justifying it by saying "but it's valentines hm, how can you say no to a valentine's day kiss", he says with the cutest pout and you can't even say anything to him. not that you weren't liking it though, you secretly loved it.

What is Love?
Time couldn’t move fast enough. You knew the time that your boyfriend of eight months would be off work. Though the frequency of his updates shrank over the course of your relationship, both of you settling into a comfortable post-honeymoon phase, you could still imagine exactly where he was and what he might be doing as he finished work.
About now, he’d be in the elevator, finally leaving for the day. It felt as though it’d been hours since you’d sat on the sofa, ready for your Valentine's Day evening activities that you’d spent weeks planning just for the two of you. No, just for him, the light of your life.
And he felt the exact same way as he shifted his weight, checking his watch for the third time since he’d entered the elevator. The day could not go by fast enough. But it would be worth it. Soon, he’d see your smiling face again and find his way into your arms. There was no way he could thank you enough for how special you continued to make him feel, every single day, no matter how hard he tried. The romance, even through the rough patches and ‘boring’ day-to-day, never dipped, never disappeared.
The same stood true come Valentine's Day morning, he was gently coaxed awake by the increasing aroma of food with enough time to comfortably get ready for work.
“This is so cheesy…”, he giggled softly, almost unable to dig into the breakfast you’d worked so hard on for him.
“My love for you could never be too cheesy. I think it could use more cheese”, you grinned, reaching across the table to feed him a piece of fruit.
“I do like cheese.”, he chuckled, accepting the fate of the heart-shaped meal you’d laid out in front of him.
“Oh! I almost forgot-”, you hopped from your chair, fetching something from the counter and placing it behind your back, “- for you.”
Slowly, but not slowly enough for him to prepare his heart, you revealed a single pink hydrangea stem wrapped in white paper.
“It took me a while to choose. Each flower, each color having a different meaning…”, you stood there, thinking you had been with him far too long for something like this to make you nervous, yet your little explanation seemed to embarrass the hell out of you, “... I didn’t want to get a rose. Roses represent passion and romance-”
Immediately your eyes shot wide, feeling you’d said something stupid, but he only listened genuinely as you choked on your words.
“- not to say I don't feel love or passion. I passionately love you.”, your rambling made him giggle, giving you confidence enough to get back on topic, “I wanted something special. Pink Hydrangeas. For sincerity, love, and romance.”
“I like this one much better than roses.”, his lips were curved up just slightly at the corners but his eyes, almost glistened, glued to the flower as he took it in his hands, forgetting about breakfast completely.
Before you, he was never really on the receiving end, always the one to spoil his lover, not expecting or needing anything in return. But with you, from the beginning, it was a different story entirely. You helped him find a part of himself he never knew was there. The need to feel cared for, safe, loved, vulnerable, protected. This one flower seemed to blow his gifts for you out of the water.
“Baby… you didn’t have to get me something this expensive!”, you gushed, “This feels like pure gold compared to a measly little flower.”
“No! I like my flower.”, he smiled to himself, twirling it slowly in his hand before you took it to place in a small vase of water.
“Do you think we could press it instead?”, he asked, feeling the urge to avert his eyes, his question blushing his cheeks. He wanted to keep it forever.
“Of course.”, you smiled, “Why don’t we keep it in water for a few days, just to look at, and we can do it on your day off?”
Both of you sat down for breakfast again, teasing one another across the small table until it was inevitably time for him to get ready for work.
The work day seemed to pass by slowly yet in an instant as he thought about his flower, so lovely, waiting for him in it’s pretty glass vase at home with all it’s little blossoms. Just like you. He couldn’t wait to be back home with both.
Getting less work done than he’d like to admit, he could finally shut off his computer and head home for the evening, knowing you had a whole night planned for the two of you. How he was going to make it, seeing your smile and feeling your touch when he’d been teetering all damned day because of that flower was a hopeless question. But he’d do it for you.
“You smell good.”, he giggled as you fixed his hair in front of the mirror. Though he probably could have managed on his own, it was the perfect way to stay as close as possible while getting ready for the night.
“Thank you, baby.”, you smiled, lowering your hands to his chest and admiring your work. Your unwavering, admiring gaze warmed his cheeks and made him turn his head. Something you recognized immediately
“Ahh! Are you feeling shy, my little prince?”, you fluffed at his hair affectionately but not enough to ruin your handiwork.
“(Caregiver Nickname)~”, he whined, knowing what you were up to. He wouldn’t make it with your teasing, being exactly why you continued.
“It’s okay, honey. It’ll just be us tonight. And how could you ask me to resist when you’re acting so cute in front of me like this?”, you guided his face back to look at you, leaving a light kiss on his cheek, “Is this really all because of that flower? How will you ever make it through the night I’ve planned for us?”
Both of you knew the answer, simply, he wouldn’t.
“You’re still my big boy even if you let me care for you, handsome boy.”, you pressed your lips together in a line, your hands resting on both of his cheeks, feeling him give himself to you entirely.
With a nod between your palms, he nuzzled against your hand, letting you pamper him and finish readying him for your evening out. It was impossible to get used to, how deeply you’d care for him, no matter how time passed. He was always in the palm of your hand.
“I’m gonna show every couple out tonight exactly how much I love my handsome little prince.”

🧸Endnote: I may be projecting the babygirl line: Jeonghan, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Minghao ya know 🤭💗. I wanted to trying blank fics bc I don’t have time or energy to always do ot13 and I want to be able to make more people happy. Honestly I can say this may not fit every member since they do all have diverse personalities. But I tried to make it cute <3 HAPPY BDAY CARATS AND HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! ~ 🐶🐰🍓

what svt’s hyung line gets you for valentine’s day
genre | fluff, svt x gn!reader
wc | 440 and then some <3
seungcheol
he’s seen everything you’ve been eyeing since early january. when the 14th rolls around, he showers you in a mountain if gift boxes. each one contains an expensive clothing, bag, or accessory. seungcheol makes it clear that any pretty penny spent on you is worth it to see you smile.
jeonghan
he isn’t sure exactly what you want. he’s not the type to go all out and buy you something super expensive. instead, jeonghan opts for a more sentimental approach; a new disposable camera and two bus passes to the beach. the two of you fill the camera with goofy smiles, clinking glasses over pasta dishes, and calm memories in the sand at dusk.
joshua
joshua’s been planning a bracelet design for you since december. he’s been picking at chains, custom ordering charms, and hand-crafting trinkets. the whole thing really comes together in late january, when he finishes adding the final few pearls and clamps each metal ring closed. it’s not much, but he wears the biggest smile when he hands it to you at his meticulously planned candle-lit dinner.
jun
he’s a bit unsure if his gift is good enough. it’s corny and makes him cringe a little, but he decides to move forward with it. one visit to build-a-bear later, jun presents you an obnoxiously large teddy bear with a recorded voice message he begs you not to listen to when he’s around. despite the low quality speaker, you can make out the words “i love you, forever and always.”
soonyoung
valentine’s has never been soonyoung’s strongest holiday. he’s a practical gift-giver, and his mind goes blank when he tries to think of a gift for you. but, a few phone calls and pep talks later, he finally presents you with a pretty necklace with the initials “KSY” dangling from the chain. you notice his own necklace later, with your initials decorating his neck.
wonwoo
he gifts you a scrapbook full of memories. the tickets from your first date at the local fair, a photo of the abysmal snowman the two of you made last december, a receipt from the burger joint you both frequented on late nights when sleep wouldn’t come, along with candid photos of the two of you.
jihoon
he hates that it’s the only thing he can think of, but he does it anyway. after weeks spent locked in his studio, shuffling through lyrics, melodies, and rhythms, he manages to polish off a song before he plays it for you. despite his usually shy demeanor, he performs it for you at night, acoustic guitar and all.
a/n | back after a while! maknae line should be out soon
