Honestly I don't know why Relic Hunter doesn't have more of a following
Indiana Jones meets Tomb Raider (and if it came after, I'd say meets Kim Possible)
Hawaiian female lead, English male lead
Filmed in Toronto, Canada
It's adventure, comedy, and action
It's two brainy people with the female lead as the brawn without losing the intelligence and she's sexy and she knows it (none of this brainy and doesn't know she's beautiful crap). Male lead is clumsy, charming, and boyishly handsome with the ability to know that he needs to rely on his stronger female counterpart (who is his BOSS) and with only some feelings of inadequacy (mostly comes out in one episode)
1999-2001 so some technology but they're looking for ancient relics usually and technology doesn't rule their lives
Ugh I just wish people were more into this show

The physical exhaustion made sense, after all, he'd been stuck in a small room for the better part of two weeks with only one meal a day, but, in all honesty, the mental exhaustion was a lot worse.
They’d told him that Sydney had died.

Whumptober no. 3: A Hair's Breadth from Death - Gun to Temple
Nigel's been in this predicament before. This lady is a psycho.
This was getting kind of old, Nigel thought as he raised his hands to show that he wasn’t up to any tricks. The steel of the gun was cold as it pressed against his temple. That wasn’t a thought he would’ve had a few years ago, when his life was all about books and writing. Still, he didn’t relish the thought of being shot.
“Give it to me,” Caroline said, “or I shoot.”
He looked at Sydney who stood just a few feet in front of them. She had her own hands raised slightly as she tried convey surrender. She didn’t move her eyes from Caroline.
“We don’t have it,” Sydney said.
“What do you mean you don’t have it? You’re lying!”
“No, no we really don’t,” Nigel said, his voice rising in terror. She looked at him and pressed the gun harder to his temple, forcing him to tilt his head. He could feel his pulse racing. Despite the numerous time he’d now had a gun to his head, it still frightened him. He looked at Sydney, desperately hoping she would get him out of this and watched as she took a miniscule step towards him.
“There was a man you would’ve passed on the way out,” Sydney answered. “He has it.” They had met rival relic hunter Tristan once or twice, on the hunt, and he had ended up following them into the cave where he had demanded the medallion of Sir Gaheris of Arthur’s Round Table, also by gunpoint. He had at least left them alive, just wanting the relic and not caring to have blood on his hands unless necessary.
“I’m not playing games here,” Caroline snarled. “Give it to me or I’ll shoot. And maybe I’ll aim this gun somewhere like… hmm,” a smile slowly spread across her face as she looked Nigel over. “Maybe at his stomach, I hear it can take a few minutes to bleed out without medical attention. Sounds awful.” She kept the gun level at his temple though.
“I’m sure there’s no need for that,” Nigel said, his words rushed. Sydney had taken another step forwards while Caroline looked him over.
“You killed Carlson,” Sydney realized. Caroline turned her attention back to Sydney but luckily didn’t notice how much closer she was. Nigel felt a shiver go through him. Many people had threated to kill him during his time with Sydney, but often they were first time potential murderers who were caught up in the moment with greed. Carlson had died an ugly death, his face smashed into his desk multiple times. There had been blood everywhere. He and Sydney had agreed that whoever had done that had been very angry and someone to tread carefully around once they caught up to them.
“He deserved it.”
“And the others?” Sydney asked.
This hunt had been a bloody one, a trail of bodies leading the way to the lost medallion. He and Sydney had been one step behind the killer, finding their clues by rubbing impressions on notepads, looking at browser histories, and through books left open on desks; the screens and pages often splattered with blood. After years of relic hunting, Nigel had never seen as much blood as he had on this hunt; it was enough to turn anyone’s stomach.
“Well, once I had what I needed from them, they weren’t any use to me anymore.”
Nigel gulped. Now that they were in the actual location of where the medallion should be, he and Sydney wouldn’t be any use to her either – all Caroline had to do was track down Tristan. Sydney looked worried and that made him more afraid than anything. She was always so confident that they had options. He could feel sweat as it gathered at his temples.
“You know what,” Caroline said contemplatively, “if what you say is true and you really don’t have it, then I suppose you’re no use to me after all. And I can always just search your bodies before I go after him – he can’t have gone far. Anyway,” she smiled and turned her attention to Nigel, “places to be, you understand. I think making you suffer might be fun still,” and she lowered the gun from his temple, presumably to shoot him in the stomach.
Sydney had taken advantage of Caroline’s inattention to her, leapt forward the last couple of steps, and kicked the gun from her hand; the sound of the gunshot echoed in the cave, and thankfully the bullet didn’t hit either Sydney or Nigel. Nigel dove towards the fallen gun as Sydney fought with Caroline, who fought with aggression and anger. Sydney on the other hand seemed cool as a cucumber, her moves thought out as she matched Caroline punch for punch and kick for kick. Nigel grabbed the gun, but didn’t aim it at the duo, always cautious about the possibility of hitting Sydney when he held one. He needn’t have worried though – Sydney hit Caroline with a kick to the chest, and she fell back and didn’t get up again.
Sydney straightened from her fighting stance and looked at Nigel. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” he replied. He ran a hand through his hair. “That was rather close though.”
She clapped him on the shoulder. “Let’s go get that medallion.”
