so i found a new band a couple months ago. i had like two of their lesser known songs on my playlist from someone else, but hadn't listened to them in detail until around december. but it hits the spot so hard.
so this is a shoutout to PVRIS and Lynn Gunn
anyways. here are some lyrics that absolutely resonate with me and some essential songs imo.
"Don't blame your death on the shit in your head that you claimed ate you like a virus for days on end.
Watched you decay, watched you waste away.
Who'd you think you'd fool baby, digging your own grave."
- Fire (White Noise) [yah fuck em up you tell the horrible people in your past]
"Don't know what you call it
I shouldn't be nostalgic
For the way you ran away from all this
'Cause, babe, you don't deserve it
Finally time you heard it
You might be a loveless person
And you know it"
- Loveless (Use Me)
"I wish you well
I hope the next one doesn't hurt
I know one day you'll learn to face the things
That turned your heart to stone
Couldn't save you, I don't blame you
We just have to let it go
(I wish you well)"
[1/2]
"Despite our feelings
The less we're intertwined the more we're healin'
Even though you left me broken, bleeding
It's still hard to let it go"
[2/2]- Wish You Well (Use Me)
"Tell me lies
Soothe my soul
Say my name
Take me home
I want, I want you to take me
Anywhere but here"
- ANYWHERE BUT HERE (unreleased 4th Album)
that's my angst for the day. go listen to the songs, i think i've saved almost their entire fucking discography (woah, only one curse in a post i made, crazy)

What genre of music do you think all the characters are into?
Ooh! I know embarrassingly little about music genres, so I'm taking a Wiki Walk about it. This is the kind of thing that is very influenced by culture and upbringing, I know that for sure. How exciting!
Without having done any research at all, Doctor Vargas strikes me as the kind of person who likes waltzing or swinging jazz, but maybe that's just because my dad likes jazz.
I wonder what kind of music goblins play.
If anyone has ideas for what the characters would listen to, or could give me a tour (band recs) of your favorite genres, that would be highly appreciated!
I know music taste can be contentious and subject to judgement for some reason, so feel free to shoot me a message if you don't want to speak in front of the class so to speak.

Listening to a version of "The Parting Glass" for my music teacher and noticing a similar melodic beat to "Mo Ghile Mear" is so just like when you hear a common voice actors voice in a piece of media, and you need to check to make sure that you're not just delusional.

Just got my Bad Love album in the mail, and looking at it while also thinking about how Ateez is doing concept driven, basically guerrilla marketing, gonna paraphrase what my group chat has been talking about and also been floating around in my head. Too many groups trying to be Cool, not enough groups Committing To The Bit

I just wanna say bc I KNOW you're somewhere on tumblr, to the teenage girl who attended Take Your Kid To Work Day at an office building in Ontario, Canada circa 2013 and had a conversation with a middle aged woman in which you showed her your Black Veil Brides fanart and fanfics and ship content and told her about different fanfic tropes including a/b/o verse bc she happened to know who Panic! at The Disco and Fallout Boy were and thus you felt the need to show her your bandblr ship art, that was my fucking mother and I had to clarify all that to her including looking my mother in the eye and trying to explain a/b/o verse without sounding like a lunatic.
It's been 10 years and I still regularly sent evil energies in your direction. Since you'd be probably two years younger than me and thus legally an adult now, please know if this post reaches you it's on sight.

So what's everyone thoughs on the new Porter Robinson song?
Well, I'll go first. Honestly? I'm kinda mixed on this one fam.
I guess I like it? It has a nice beat, the lyrics are both heartfelt and funny, the synths are outstanding, as per usual with this man. But I don't know, something just does not click right for me. Maybe I was expecting more of Nurture type thing. Especially from the teasers without vocals.
I mean I'm glad he's going foreward and still producing music, goddamn he's a veteran at this point let's be honest. It's just that, surprisingly enough I never really got into that 2010's emo rock thing. I was honestly more absorbed in alt pop at that time.
Idk fellas. I kinda wish I liked it more than I do after a few listens. I mean all the elements are there, they just don't click for me. Maybe it's a grower not a hit, who know
6/10 for me rn
Also I don't think this is healthy relationship (as gay as I am):

Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do
It’s funny how often I can relate so much to her songs. This one? Basically how I feel about an enemy of mine.

let me tell you how much i love the music in "to the moon"
isn't it so cool that River's song ends on a note that makes it sound unfinished
and how tommy and sarah's version doesn't do that, it ends on a nice chord and it's much more "playful" and like
johnny's version was only for River and the version he taught the two/ what they made of it is like the memories of River, he waned to pass on
Johnny's version is so lovely and and sentimental and it ends too soon (it's also only about half the versions lenghth) and it's just like his wife
Sarah and Tommy's version is much more joyfull and fun, it's more fun to play, it goes on for a whole second verse, or whatever it's called, and it ends on a conclusive chord (which they play togeter) and i think it's so nice that this idea of how River must have felt came from Jonny's song for her and probably got changed by the children not only because it was more fun to play as a duo, but also because that's how River felt thru what they know of her

Paul Matthews and Emma Perkins are everything to me. They are soulmates and find each other in every universe but they almost never get past the awkwardly flirting stage before the world ends. They are both losers. They find each other every time an apocalypse commences. They are the only normal people in the whole universe. They are doomed by the narrative. They hate musicals. He tips her 5 dollars and she spits on everyones coffee. They are Orpheus and Eurydice coded. They are a spark that never turns into fire. They are intimate but don't like labels. They are the only constant thing in every timeline. They are what it could have been but never meant to be. They meet in that coffee shop again and again forever. He'll order a black coffee and she'll ask him for his name. And the loop will start all over again.

getting that intense spring melancholy again. gave into the forest creature part of myself again and spent 14 hours wandering the coastal woods. had some life changing thoughts. had some recurring fantasies. but overall, life stayed the same.
“But we can’t help who we are, so:
You take a walk in the dark just to stay afloat
There’s a corner in your room with a bunch of clothes
You got a pill in your pocket hoping no one knows
Get killed, get rich, I get the way it goes
You try to tell yourself this the life you chose.”
