In my Swordfish era

Y’all remember the movie Swordfish? Good. Now have fun forgetting it again. I have no defense for my actions except I’m a y2k cybergoth baby ur honor. And if my characters don’t eventually wear everything once sold at hot topic, then I’ve failed society as a whole.

This is the double trouble duo themselves, Taran and Kolohe, also affectionately nicknamed Shark Boi and Lava Gurl by me for reasons you don’t need to understand. Here they’re sporting their finest pleather attire and holding the traditional weapons of their respective time periods (ones they favor personally). I’d like to think they have a whole spinoff arc in Japan during the 90s-2010s where they put Tokyo drift to shame.

Meet Kolohe, my non-binary Koa warrior turned biker goth. 🏍️👏💦

They go by she/they and only have a preference when they are most definitely /not/ a she, but are indifferent otherwise. It’s sort of hard to explain the concept of māhū to mainlanders anyway, so they opt out when it’s more convenient and just shrug at any binary nonsense that comes their way. Besides, it’s usually nothing a good chokehold won’t fix…

As a Native Hawaiian and a complete badass, they embody the essence of their past warrior status in their everyday life, working as a supernatural freelancer for anything from espionage to contracted killings. It’s not as honorable as they’d like it to be, and nowhere near as fulfilling as their past occupation, but they mainly use the money to help out their homeland so it’s become an acceptable arrangement over time. Plus, if feels pretty good to use that colonizer cash against itself…

Despite their altruistic nature, they also have a chaotic streak they like to scratch every now and again, especially when out with their problematic bff Taran. You can find them out clubbing or drinking or causing general mayhem together anywhere they set foot, always up for a good time as long as it’s in their favor.

Absolutely here to intimidate and seduce you, they will leave you questioning your entire sexuality while giving you gender envy. No, it’s not optional. No, you will not survive. Probably because they’ve also bit you.
