Join us on Saturday, April 22, and Sunday, April 23, from 12 to 5pm each day at the Goldmark Cultural Center for our Spring Art Walk! During this indoor open studios event, meet the Goldmark artists, tour their art studios and workspaces, and enrich yourself by experiencing their original artwork, much of which will be available for purchase! With over 150 different Goldmark artists working across the entire spectrum of the visual arts, there is sure to be something for everyone, whether you are interested in discovering local artists, keeping up with the latest in the North Texas art scene, or simply enjoying a weekend surrounded by great artwork, exhibitions, and artists. Many of the Goldmark artists will also be conducting art demos and activities throughout the day, so on arrival, be sure to check the activity schedule for more detailed information. Open studios, art activities, live music, and exhibitions will be spread across all floors of the Cultural Center’s two buildings, so there will be plenty to see and do. Pick up a stamp passport sheet on arrival and have it stamped by artists on both floors of both buildings to enter yourself into an art raffle! Free admission and parking. 🌷GUMMITULPAN 🌷 So excited about my involvement in this issue of @lystring_forlag ‘s comics anthology! The anthology is produced out of Sweden, so @lystring_forlag helped me translate my work into Swedish! It was really fun working in another language. The title of the series is “Gummitulpan” which means “Rubber Tulip”. So interesting how the Swedish translation is just one word! Anyway, here’s a few glamour shots with my copy, in front of my wall of in-progress @fantagraphics book pages… 🤠 The series of collaged comixxx featured in this anthology is an expansion of a series of mine printed in a recent issue of ATX’s Peach Fuzz Magazine. Our next stop on our day of art in Austin was the @blantonmuseum on the campus of @utaustintx - first to the this exquisite Ellsworth Kelly exhibit in its own building. Reminiscent of a church, it’s a secular celebration of color and light, and the shifting light of the day and seasons. There were panels of color block black and white, representing the stations of the cross, and the 18 foot wooden monolith (the “altar”) was carved from a single piece of wood.
