Hi y'all!! While most of the art I've posted on here has been drawings, I am a 3D artist and rigger by profession. This is my 3D animated short film from my senior year at SCAD. We finally released it to the public and I am so incredibly proud of the work I've done here and the team who helped make this the best film possible. It would mean so much to me if you took some time to watch it!
“In a magically realistic version of Savannah, a young director must defeat their new film’s nine evil ex-crew members one by one in order to wrap production.” - JJ Gibson vs. the World (2010)
Meet JJ, the Director and Storyboard Artist on Teaser Trailer! Yes, they are just as deranged as they look. More, even.
So I've been really afk because I have been working on a massive undertaking.
It's about to be my senior year at school and we get to pitch a short film idea. It has to go through an intense voting and recruitment process that lasts about a month to be greenlit and put into production for the next year.
The concept was simple:
A psychological horror film about a guy who loses their long-time job as an amusement park mascot.
The film will utilize a bunch of mixed media to push the horror visuals, heavily inspired by the work of Gekidan Inu Curry.
Alot of work was done to develop and pitch the concept...
I have the news that my school greenlit this production.
Buckle up, this is one of the most insane concepts I've ever come up with and the team and I are excited to bring it to you.
We're counting down the release of my thesis film, Pirate Lesson, coming out DECEMBER 28TH. Here are some of the bird countdowns I posed!! You can see the full countdown on our Instagram & Twitter pages :)
“In turn of the century Savannah, a magical producer employs fx animation and adventure to help nine neglected capstone members become closer to their film.” - Ila Poppins (1964)
Meet ILA, Co-Producer and 2D Animator on Teaser Trailer! She voted her own capstone pitch a 1/5 so she could be on this film instead (and boy are we glad she did)
