My need to constantly talk about Sean MacGuire is really being indulged lately jnhbvbjnbh Thank u dear anon <3

oKAY so like, anon, I will be the FIRST to admit that me calling Sean queercoded might've been a strong choice of words all things considered (especially compared to ACTUALLY explicitly gay Bill Williamson which could go for queercoding considering it's only really explicit if you look for it or catch it). I read Sean as queer in a lot of ways, and that is probably in no small part because I'm queer myself. BUT in my defense, what am I supposed to take away from the developers cuffing Sean's jeans like that?? His queer little swagger???? The outfit with that haircut?????? That is a BISEXUAL MAN if I've ever seen one!!!

^me rn fr (always, about Sean and Lenny in particular. My gay Lenny headcanon is a lot more solid though, I'll be frank, and I'm honestly waiting to go the fuck off about it properly here some day lmao)

On a more serious note though, I definitely think Sean's admiration for Arthur can be read as a little bit of a crush in certain instances. Not that I particularly ship that pairing, but certain ways Sean responds to Arthur has always had me 🤔🤔 For example (and I'm really gonna out myself and how often i rewatch his missions here) in pouring forth oil, when Arthur gets mad forreal for a sec and threatens Sean (after Sean has a tantrum abt not being invited along which.... come on), and Sean laughs, there is DEFINITELY a crush-related way of reading that interaction & Sean's response. Not to mention the lil lookover Sean gives him I mean COME ON he's not even that subtle!

Not to speak of the fact that the first thing he does after being rescued from bounty hunters is ask Arthur for a hug - how many of yall Arthur Morgan horny ppl wouldn't die to do the same? Sean was ahead of the game. He's one of you, I swear.

I think Sean being queer makes sense with his personality too, as the sort of laid-back and easy-going one. Though I also think, given the time and the fact that I think he's bi, it's probably not smth he's ever thought very hard about? You know, heteronormativity etc etc, him and Karen having their messy thing going on etc etc, but Sean WOULD kiss a homie and not really have a problem with it. He'd just -- not think about it much harder, you know?

It's that same attitude he has, which leads me to believing if given the chance he'd be very gnc. I know I've said it before but I do headcanon that modern au Sean would def fuck around with skirts and makeup and nailpolish, and have a very loose relationship with his gender as a man at best. It makes sense to me, for someone who is both that easygoing, and has that sense of interest in societal issues, to at some point have the realization of 'oh gender roles are made up' and act accordingly, you know?

And then I'm also taken with, and sort of speaking from, this sort of perspective of the gang at large as very queer. Speaking of it in that academic way, as a sort of rejection of normative society - heteronormative society in particular - there's absolutely an inherent queerness to this entire gang of outlaws doing as they will. When being queer has always meant being ostracized from society, it is easy to read characters ostracized from society as queer; in this way, and in my opinion, the queercoding is inherent to this game, and these characters. It's there at the very foundation of their situation and way of living, and it's why I personally am never going to argue against any type of queer headcanon (and why I'm a proponent of many of them myself lol). Me seeing queerness in Sean and Lenny, is no different from me seeing it in Arthur and Charles, or Sadie and Karen, or Hosea and Dutch, or literally ANY other gangmember.

I feel like I went on a tangent here, again, as I am prone to do, BUT my main point is: Sean MacGuire is so so queer bcz I said so, and becuase why the fuck else would he be like that?

if you really want to start on the ground floor for breaking into something, I'd recommend my personal favorite approach which is picking the figure that's most interesting to you, reading through plutarch's biography on them (free! online! in english!) and then putting their name through a jstor search and reading whatever sounds fun.

i got carried away phfkdjkdkf BUT I LOVE YOUUU STSG ANON and i love this concept sm…….. they’re both papabears :((( i feel like satoru gets a lot more serious when you’re injured, while suguru gets more meek than usual…. it’s kind of a reversal of their usual roles but it’s great bc they balance each other out !! :3 like. in the scenario above i feel like satoru might get frustrated bc they told you to be careful not to slip on the ice or whatever but suguru is there to remind him that you’re in pain and that it was an accident :(( and when it’s a more minor injury i think suguru is the one to get slightly condescending bc why would you go out into the rain without a jacket?? /obviously/ you’d catch a cold, dummy. and satoru is there to defend your honour with his life LMAO…… they’re sooo so silly.

So, about The Laurent's perspective ...

I just spent the last three days reading it and just wanted to thank you for finishing it (from the notes I realized you were very busy at the time so finding time to write must have been tricky). I loved every single memory, every single flashback, every single interpretation of the events and I risked melting together with Laurence in all that river of emotions you built for him. I was too impressed with the story of the sleeping beauty who doesn't wake up because she can't fall in love with the prince since she is sleeping and the way you described Laurence's trauma is phenomenal. Now I'm very curious to read also the other things you wrote!

ahhhh thank you so much!! i was in fact very busy while writing that series lol it was my final year of college and i was juggling like...four part time jobs i think. looking back i truly don't know what i was doing i think i just lost my mind a little bit <3

all my other fics are marauders fics, so if u found me thanks 2 the captive prince series i don't know how much more of my writing will appeal to u lmao. but!! laurent's perspective is in fact very very special to me simply because i feel like it's what got me back into writing for fun and it was the first sort of like. long writing project i'd undertaken like that. plus laurent as a character is just. incredibly special to me. writing his story...well it was cathartic for me in a lot of ways, and so it means a lot whenever i do hear from people who appreciate my interpretation of what was going on in his head <3 so thank u for taking the time to send this message!!

Ok I have a question. Is Tom and Greg from succession an actual couple or are they just shipped together. I always love finding new shit but I also don't want to be queerbaited so I'd prefer to know before I dedicate my time to watching succession. Thanks!

Ok buckle up anon cause this is gonna be a long one:

Currently, Tom and Greg are just a ship. It is implied that Tom might have a thing for Greg, but Tom is currently married to Greg's cousin Siobhan (Shiv). Right now Tomgreg is just a ship, thought this is liable to change depending on how s4 goes.

S3 was weird, because there were moments where it honestly did feel like it was gonna cross the boundary from ship to canon, but that never came to fruition, at least in terms of them actually being a relationship and not just doing weird gay shit every episode. Like, Tom literally kissed Greg and told him he had a big dick, but they're not "canon" per se.

We're not really sure how it's gonna go in s4, because the chances are high that Tom and Shiv might be getting divorced, and god knows what Tom will do when that happens, but as of right now Tom and Greg are just a ship. S4 is due to start filming soon, and probs won't be out till late 2023 or into 2024, so I wouldn't place bets on Tomgreg happening anytime soon.

Honestly, Tom and Greg are a complicated topic. The way that the show is written behind the scenes is relatively loose - they let actors improvise on-set a lot, and it has changed the direction of the show before. For example the actors who play Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Gerri (J Smith Cameron) were allowed to do some improv, and it worked so well that they're now a canon ship on the show. Tom's actor (Matthew Macfadyen my beloved) has had moments like this too - most notably in the aforementioned kiss from s3 when the script said that he was supposed to flick Greg (Nic Braun) in the balls, but instead he kissed his forehead.

I don't know if I would call them queerbait, because the way they're written seems very purposeful to their characterisations and their arcs, though others might disagree. Like, we can't call it queerbait right now until we know how it ends - just because it doesn't happen immediately doesn't mean everything that led up to it was baiting, yknow? Just because something isn't canon doesn't automatically mean it's queerbait, especially in a show that was never really designed for fandom-type engagement/ship discourse/etc, and ust because they're not canon now doesn't mean they never will be. And honestly, the way they're going right now, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually became canon in s4 - we just don't know right now.

Even though they're not canon, if you're looking for a good show, I would still recommend watching Succession anyway! Just because it doesn't have a canon blorbo couple (yet) doesn't mean there's nothing worth appreciating about it. It's extremely wellcrafted, and probably one of the best satirical dramas of the past decade.

RIGHT im also usually a sucker for all of those tropes and when sym was first introduced I thought he was super interesting. still do, from a writing standpoint! i also just avoid him like the plague now. there is something about an entity that's implied to be 1000s years old pursuing a child that makes me go... huh? what? i mean, there's literally a content warning for the guy. of course there is no obligation to get with sym so it's all up to each individual how this plays out, but you will most likely meet him when sol and dys are kids, and the option is there. speaking of the latter, his influence on dys is what makes me wanna strangle him like that one image of kermit. tbh there's a lot to sym, plenty of things i don't really understand, but i think that's intentional seeing as he's ur typical Mysterious Stranger Here To Conveniently Save The Day type of character. i get why people like him and ofc given that there is no one canon sol, his relationship with the main characters can vary a lot. can't say the same for vace though he's a piece of shit in every alternation LMAO <3 i have not seen any fanatics of him yet which i guess is the one pro to having a tiny fandom. he is still very interestingly written even if i wanna snap him in half like a glowstick, which is actually something i really appreciate about this game just in general. its clear the devs took their time to flesh everyone out and im glad that they make it clear when characters ARE meant to be uncomfortable and generally disliked

honestly re:dys/sym i have a lot of thoughts mostly abt like. of Course dys is oging to like him, right? lonely kid who always felt like an asshole meeting someone who Understands Him And Thinks He’s Amazing! but also sym’s solutions aren’t........ really solutions. shows the fundamental gap between him+humans i think. dys is like 19 when he goes off to be a gardener and it’s like, ????????? you’re too young to be making that life decision kid. but also sym genuinely does not realize how fucked up that is which is a really fun dichotomy and i think makes him an interesting character

honestly avoiding sym is valid LOL i branched off one of my “main” routes to date him just to see once and like. it’s interesting! i like that you mindfuck! but honestly the thing i find oddest about it is always going to be the pacing and how you go from 1 to 100 and how there’s literally no option to tell him to fuck off when u meet essentially, which is interesting from a characterization point tbh! somehow my current Hates Aliens sol has 20 friendship w/him despite literally telling him to fuck off (adn then getting beaten up to hell n back) so it’s just interesting the way like......... mechanically? that rship plays out

I actually knew abt ND when i was around 16, but i knew it as some philosophy. When i got to know ND a month ago, i transitioned from LOA (the 3D/4D 😵‍💫) honestly i felt an impeding doom for 2 days, bc it was very hard to grasp. Then i read about neville’s power of awarness, the first two chapters, it gives insight about how consciousness is the only reality ig (i forgot the exact wording). After some pondering, I got to completely understand, I am that. And this ver of myself that I don’t like, the problems she has are not mine rather of this illusory K (let’s call her K). The life i want is just another illusion, and i’m merely shifting my awareness to of that one. Ngl, worries sweep me over, doubts, anxiety all that, but I hold the ground that it’s all just my mind, and the thoughts, my awarness begs to differ. For example, I’ve a deadline to submit a project, TBH my this illusory K self is anxious but i know that everything works out in my favor and it’ll okay as it always will be.

I know everyone here wants their desired life/better life, but you’ve to know that you’re not changing your 3D, you’re just choosing another illusion which is better for you. This ego centered self can’t do anything and that isn’t a doer. You shift your awareness, that’s what you’ll be seeing in your life.
