Jazz becoming the next big Gothem villain is such a solid concept. Theres so much to explore.
She targets corrupt mental institutions. Corrupt companies who destroy their workers state of mind so they wont quit. She attacks landlords who make it impossible for people to live comfortably.
She is the staple anti-hero of anyone struggling to get back on their feet. People should have to work three jobs just to afford a crappy one bedroom, no utilities, half bath, in crime alley apartment, with a roommate.
Shelters should be aiming to gain a profit instead of using the donations to support others.
She is tired of these big name heros leaving children to clean up messes. She has watcher her own brother wither away to a shell of his former self trying to make a change and she is sick of it. Hell she herself is a child but if this is what it takes, then this is what it takes.
Enter from the left The Manipulator™️
Feared by all corrupt. People think she has mind control or something. When she targets someone they make almost a full 180 in their ways. “She will do anything to get her way or to make people into what she thinks they should be. And she mist be stopped” cries big business.
In reality she is the worlds best damn psychiatrist ever to be known. She doesn’t force anyone to change but gives them the choice to be better. To see how much more they can be. And it terrifies them. Helps them find themselves again and to move past their troubling pasts. No force and no mind control. No manipulating. No one but those who she has helped know the truth but when they tell the truth it only fuels the fire of her being controlling.
Theres one thing also fuelling the flames of mind control. Thats the fact that every single major hero to go after her can’t. Any who approach her find themselves no long near her. Superman just wants to talk, well she doesn’t, and he is then back in his city?!? Batman is stalking her to figure out how to deal with her but once he gets too close he suddenly finds himself in the batcave?
At first they think it’s teleportation but time is passing? Theres video feed and tracking of no they just went back themselves. No response from them the whole trip. As if possessed. (Lmao it’s just good brother danny pranking his sis a little by making her seem all powerful but also protecting her anyway he can. Or could be Dan instead)

I’m always a little bit baffled by the pearl-clutching about Mace attempting to assassinate (nvrmind that he went there for an arrest and Palpatine attacked first) the head of state because *gasp* how terrible
but like, considering what Palpatine did afterward, (and it’s not like it was actually in response, it was the plan either way) (and also nevermind that he was already a dictator at this point, not the democratically elected head of state) and “I sense a plot to destroy the jedi,” a line said by Mace beforehand, it’s really. . Imagine you’re at the head of a small religious order, charged with the protection of not only the democratic state that guy just usurped but also, crucially, the protection of every single child in your monastery and every single knight or student in your order, and the head of state wants to destroy your people, and even belongs to a secret cult committed to the cause of killing your people, and has access to the full might of the state to do so, unopposed by anyone except you- well, what would you do, i guess? What is a reasonable course of action, there?

Sooo... There’s this newer show called Daniel Spellbound and this demon guy named Jayce Chinda in the second season, who I’ve kind of attached myself to recently and very suddenly, but I will add admit, I feel the show could have been much better and I’m sad about that. 😭 You can tell there’s a lot of constraints from budget and time that limited it a lot.
It’s an urban fantasy setting with some cool concepts and good & diverse character designs, and whoever is doing the color keys for the show is on point, but it does end up feeling lacking in most other things to me unfortunately.
Jayce here sadly only mostly looked like the first few pics here. No tail or other horns. 😔 I don’t want to give spoilers, but it definitely felt like his narrative was leaning toward him having a bigger, badder demon form or at least something change, but he did not and I was rather disappointed.
So I gotta do it myself I guess.
But yeah, I’m back on my bullshit and have gone and run off with the AU stuff as I usually do and will say in advance that most of my fanart is only vaguely rooted in what was given in the canon if you’re wanting to check out the show and expect something else! I’m just glad to want to draw something again tho, it’s been ages.

Dire Wolf aged into an adult at the same time as we got a commissar hat and a face mask in some cargo pods. Euclid whipped up a pair of sunglasses to complete the look, and now our baby girl is all grown up! She's developed the masochist trait because I thought it'd be funny.
Not one to be outdone by his big sister, Night Stalker had a birthday too. He got the tidy trait, because most of his chores involve sweeping and cleaning up, but now I regret it and think it would've been way funnier to have a world-weary seven year old moping around the colony.
Then Euclid had a great idea, heralding the start of what was presumably the worst day of Nepos' life...
Poor guy. He won't have to suffer for long, though.
A sacrifice and a fervent prayer for Ecthuctu to bestow a ship upon us, and...
Wow, look at that timely intervention!! Ecthuctu really is swell. how nice of them, a ship with room for all the colonists, plus the "coming soon" babies, and even some of our animals! We could never leave Salvatore the cat and Shamrock the donkey behind, after all.
We'll get an armoured wall built around our lifeline before we start the engine, and then we'll hunker down and try to survive the next fifteen days of hell...

quick thought on ttrpg design
i feel like the ttrpg designer’s mission should be to make something better than the players’ first instinct. you’re never, ever gonna be better than what they come up with after consideration, cuz that’s gonna be tailored to the particular situation and the tastes of the people around the table, but you can make something that helps raise the baseline. give players tools and toys that let them make interesting decisions in the moment. if you’re designing a class, make it so even the most basic character of that class has something interesting going on. if you’re making a monster, have it say something fun about the world. sure, you can give someone +2 to a stat during character creation to match their background, but they already know they can have slightly better stats thanks to their background. give them something they wouldn’t immediately think of.
this is also why i think youve gotta be real careful telling players they can’t do something, or that something they can do doesn’t matter. every time you do that, you’re cutting off space where the players might find something fun. does that mean you shouldn’t ever say no? absolutely fucking not. a lot of my favorite game mechanics are denials, lines in the sand that can’t be crossed, because not crossing them is interesting and meaningful. telling a player they can never return home is cool and impactful. telling a player they can reflavor their spellcasting but those changes aren’t allowed to matter just sucks.
