Hades defenders pls understand that just because your man got abused doesn’t mean he isn’t abusive himself.

He ripped out someone’s eyes, constantly shouts at those with a lower status at him for Persephone. It’s supposed to be attractive, but that is abusive behaviour.

He is a slave owner.

Minthe faces racism from his family. Yes she was abusive. But does that mean he can dismiss her feelings constantly? No, it doesn’t.

I know I keep harping on the same bullshit and I'm sick of myself as well, but it really baffles me that this is considered near perfect writing:

He's looking at Lenore as she's about to sun herself. He's talking about vampires. So let me ask: what the hell do you mean "recently".

Appreciating the beauty of vampires is all you've been doing!!

N!Hector started as a victim of abuse so alienated by his own kind that he related more with animals than humans. He's fascinated with death. He's fascinated with vampires. This is not a good thing, since it's the main reason the man thinks that turning humans into cattle would be a "merciful" compromise: he sees humans as dangerous animals that need to be controlled, but not completely eradicated, as "like any animal, I think the world would be poorer with their extinction".

You'd think that his development would be about him reconnecting with his humanity. Realizing they are people, with hopes and dreams and kindness and they deserve better than being food for vampires. Just as he, too, deserves better than being cooped up in a little house, or in a castle. You know. His literal development in canon.

It's predictable, but at least it's coherent. But eh, I guess N!Isaac stole this poignant character arc, whoops.

That line makes no sense. Not only because of what I just said, but because Hector just finished comparing vampires to parasites that do nothing but eat, so starved they are for power. For fuck's sake it's literally what triggers Lenore's suicide! That realization by all means should have been him accepting that vampires are not as wise as he thought, that at their core they're still animals and they hurt him and are harmful to the world because of it. But apparently no. He's still on his bullshit, just as his big badass moment in this season is planning to bring back Dracula even after he realized that he had lied to him to exterminate mankind in a way he didn't approve of.

Ah. But this isn't about Hector. Hector stopped being a character halfway through S2. This is about Lenore. This is him doing the closest thing to confessing his love for the woman who abused him in all sorts of ways. She's beautiful and she should have lived with him, but she chose to peace out, unwilling to withstand her own ironic fate with the man she enslaved: and he's perfectly fine with her choosing the "freedom" that she deprived him of, that forced him to multilate his fingers to gain (and even in part, as he's once again stuck in a castle with no desire to see the world).

But it's fine. She's a beautiful vampire and he'll always cherish her as such.

This writing is disgusting. This show puts vampires on an uncomfortable pedestal and does very little to make them sympathetic, so it really comes off as simply misanthropic.

So rereading the earliest chapters of CTB made me remember one of the key character traits of Mask: that he’s actually a teenage boy in a child’s body. Or that he’s just mentally older than he looks physically, smth like that, I haven’t played Majora’s Mask or Ocarina of Time yet.

I don’t remember if u’ve already discussed this before, but what is the child’s mental vs physical age? I just thought it would be ironic and extremely tragic if it turns out the “child” is somehow older than the engineer, especially considering that protecting his innocence was Spirits’ main motivation to continue suffering past!Link’s abuse. But maybe Mask is only a little bit mentally older than his body would have u believe, and time is wobbly in his head and he’s definitely not as intellectually mature as Spirits or past!Link?

Mask is "mentally" 13 years old, but he's very immature for his age.

Going through everything he did at such a young age, especially when his adventures demanded that he be older than he was, was very damaging for him. His emotional regulation is behind most 13 year olds. His interpersonal relationships are all out of whack because he hasn't been in a safe enough space to actually grow up. Instead, he's stuck in a weird state where he tries to reclaim his childhood by acting younger than he is or strive for maturity by trying to mimic the behaviors of the adults around him.

That's what Mask meant when he said that if there's a young and old version of him, he's a third unrelated guy. He's stuck in his development. He doesn't know how to catch up on the growing up he never got to do, so he tries to run further back into his youth.

this is the one blog in particular that i cannot believe is still up, and haven't been deleted by tumblr. i-am-aprl. this person has posted, on the day of the hamas terrorist attack, Oct 7, a photo of a dead body of an israeli man being driven into gaza by a gazan man riding a motorcycle. She added celebratory words and emojis. Celebrating desecration. On the same day, while civilians were still being murdered, hunted down by hamas terrorists, this blogger posted screenshots from the video of a terrorist pulling israeli Naama Levy from the back of a truck, by her hair, while she's covered in blood. again, this blogger was CELEBRATING it!!!

at the time, she didn't get many notes. she wasn't popular at all. the fact is, this disgusting behaviour made her famous on tumblr. her posts containing antisemitism, blood libel, lies, and misinformation, get thousands of notes, tens of thousands of notes sometimes. instead of being told off, she has actually gained something from this behaviour. I don't have a bottom line here.

on oct 7 she was also celebrating rockets being shot from civillian areas in gaza, later she's sad and heartbroken when the terrorists throwing those rockets are eliminated. she's a fan(??????
