Beautiful Damned You has got me on the ropes just from the idea of it
This one is further down on the priority list but very much alive in my head!
Some highlights I have mentioned before:
Jamie does not throw away The Beautiful and Damned
He reads it
He has strong feelings about it
He starts coming into practice with a nastier than usual bite towards Ted, who is rapidly losing ground and can't figure out why
Jamie accidentally keeps recreating that scene in The Office (US) where Michael is watching The Devil Wears Prada. Jamie keeps quoting parts of the book at Ted (or attempting to quote- look, he's paraphrasing, ok, but these are lethal strikes)
Ted takes a while to figure out what's going on because spoiler alert he has not actually read that book since like. Ninth grade.
So all of this is culminating and in the midst of it all the gala happens. Which, Ted in his Ted-wisdom is still optimistic. He thinks he can still work things out with Jamie. He also still needs Jamie and Roy to work things out with each other, so despite Beard's warning he goes ahead and seats them all at the same table.
That turns into the most epic of shit shows you could possibly imagine.
Because it is one thing for Ted to insinuate via literature that Jamie is like Anthony, the protagonist from TB&D, but to then insinuate that Keeley is anything like Gloria, someone shallow who only sees their value in their beauty and who looks down on other women? Or that Jamie would treat her like Anthony does?
Fuck you, Lasso.
And also, if you want to talk about shallow- he didn't even want to do this stupid gala in the first place. It's disgusting, and he's not gonna be putting out for any old ladies. He doesn't care if Ted kicks him off the starting line at this point - he's not doing it.
Keeley does not know what has gotten into Jamie, but she's officially concerned now. And poor Roy- he did not sign up for this. Ted was the one who stuck him at this table under the guise of making things work with Tartt. Now Tartt's stormed off, Keeley's flustered and upset and a little embarrassed, Ted's sitting there like looking someone's whacked him with a shovel.
It had to be Roy to go talk to him, didn't it? Couldn't be anyone else.
That didn't mean Roy isn't annoyed when it turns out all of this drama started because of a fucking book.
Roy ends up talking Jamie down by telling him he'll read the fucking book, because it's clear to him that part of what's got Jamie so riled up is that no one's really listening to his side of things or taking him seriously when he says that the gaffer just- doesn't fucking like him? And when Roy tries to pivot that actually Jamie is kind of a prick so it's probably not just the book, Jamie gets more upset, so yeah, Roy will read the book, and then Jamie can explain to him what's got him so twisted up about it.
So Roy reads the book.
Huh. Turns out he might be on Jamie's side of this after all.

Name: Gloria Estrella Mancini Nickname: Glory Age: 29 D.O.B: April 4th Sign: Aries Element: Fire Birthplace: Queens, NY Current Residence: Detroit, MI Gender: Female Pronouns: She/Her Orientation: Heterosexual Affiliation: Lipstick Gossip / Bennett Museum of Curiosities and Antiquities Job Title: Editor Consultant / Assistant Manager Face Claim: Dakota Johnson Hair Color: Dark Brown Eye Color: Blue Height: 5′7″ 170cm Build: Slim Accent: American Style: Fashion forward: tailored pant suits, fitted dresses, blouses with slacks, pencil skirts, pleather skirts, solid colors: reds, whites, browns, yellows. Styled coats: faux fur, trench, suede. MBTI: ISTJ Temperament: Sanguine Alignment: Neutral Good Positives: Outgoing, Fair, Hardworking, Understanding Negatives: Overly Trusting, Questioning, Worrisome
Gloria Mancini is the friend and longtime assistant to Natalie Hill. She works as an editor for Lipstick Gossip most often in the celeb au. Outside of this she is the assistant manager at the Bennett Museum in tandem with Nat’s regular main verse. All in all she is a fixture of Nat’s life and the one person who sees into the world of Natalie Hill that others cannot get a leg up in.
She is a faithful friend despite knowing Nat’s tendencies to be a harsh critic of people. If anyone is used to dealing with that type of attitude and way of running business it’s Gloria. Some might say she’s a little too loyal. That doesn’t mean she agrees with everything Natalie says or does. Oftentimes she attempts to be a voice of reason, especially with the stories they run in celebrity gossip magazine Lipstick Gossip.
She is a hard worker who is looking to make a better impression in the world. Be that with the magazine or working at the museum its all verse dependent.
Growing up in New York, she is straight out of the media circuit. Working as a secretary for a news station in her earliest days, Gloria moved out to Detroit when a new job opportunity came her way. She has experience in secretarial work and media consulting on her resume. Moving into a management position only opens doors to spread her wings and hone her skills. Pre-planning is her best feature. One of the things that Natalie relies on the most. Not only in her work life but in her personal life.
Gloria met Natalie while she was still living in New York prior to their current working and personal relationship. They became easy friends. Which is saying something with what Gloria now knows about her. It’s not often Natalie lets people in but at the time Nat needed someone to lean on while trying to make her own life fresh out of college. Maybe it had to do with failing past friendships. Whatever the case, Gloria stood by her and they have been friends ever since.
xxx Gloria is open to interaction as a side muse. She will accept asks and plots outside of Natalie. Currently she has a main verse and an exclusive supernatural witch verse. If you want to poke Gloria you can request her when sending into the inbox.

❝ when anger turns to honey. ❞
( adelaide kane, cis woman, she/her ) · you know, the gossip in new york city is insidious and gossip about a half-blood like aliénor barbeau seems to constantly be afloat. what i know for a fact, though, is that they’re a twenty-seven year old curse-breaker who graduated from beauxbâtons. apparently that inclines them to be a bit disorganized and ardent when she rolls out of bed in the morning. as a member of the resistance (vetted member), i feel bad that they’ve resorted to taking up the moniker dahlia. ( the feeling of joy you get when you see someone you love a long time after seeing them last, hanging out at the versailles gardens when there are only a few tourists there, both the colour and the scent of lavender, the crackling sound of a campfire & doing what’s right no matter how difficult it might be / sam )

a lil summary can be found at the end of the intro !
backstory.
Aliénor was the first and only child of a couple that broke up only a little while after she was born. Her father was a French-Canadian sommelier who had fallen in love with France and moved there after making a name for himself, and her mother worked in French haute couture. They were an odd mix, more so due to their personality than their jobs, and everyone around them expected to break up after having a kid. They were both in their late thirties, both wanted a child, and mostly used each other as an excuse to get that child. Then, when they had her, their need for each other was pretty much gone, and they broke it off.
Aliénor was born in Versailles, where her parents lived together before they broke up. Then, she spent half her time in Paris with her mother, and the other half in the Loire Valley with her father, who worked at a famous vineyard. He eventually fell in love with the man in charge of the vineyard, and were together ever since Aliénor was five years old, though they only just got married. Really, she considered her father’s husband a parent of hers just as much as her biological father and mother, and since her dads don’t have any other children, she’s pretty much the apple of their eye. Aliénor’s mother, on the other hand, only got married when Aliénor was ten years old. She married a rich man who made his fortune in real estate, and though he wasn’t a bad person or anything like that, it never really clicked between him and Aliénor. He had children of his own, and Aliénor’s mother grew quite attached to them, leading to some jealousy on Aliénor’s part. At one point, though, she just stopped caring. She loved her mom, and really appreciated the time they spent alone together, but apart from that, she had her dads, and they were more than enough for her.
What her dad never told her was that he was a wizard. He had come from a prominent wizarding family in Canada, from whom he’d distanced himself after seeing their stance on certain things that really mattered to him. After that, he used magic from time to time, but almost completely renounced it. He honestly loved living as a muggle, and only ever told his daughter about it all a little bit before she got invited to go to Beauxbâtons. She was shocked, to say the least, but having always been a wildly imaginative child, she was honestly pleasantly surprised, although a bit made about the fact that her father didn’t tell her about it beforehand.
At Beauxbâtons, she had quite a couple of friends, but didn’t exactly fit in with the vibe of the place. She was a lot more relaxed about some things than others, and yet way more intense about things most other people there didn’t seem to care about. She had inherited her father’s temperament, and though she loved it, her mother’s would have been a lot more useful for that school. Still, she LOVED learning about magic, and honestly looked forward going back there after every vacation, no matter how much she might have missed her parents.
She moved to New York City a few months after graduating from Beauxbâtons, along with a friend who has now moved back to France, whereas Aliénor remained in the United-States. There wasn’t any specific reason for the move; Aliénor felt like going outside Europe, and since she wanted to practice her English AND had a maternal grandmother who resided in upstate New York, she thought it’d be a good move.
In the first four years after she moved to NYC, she spent as much time as possible with her grandmother upstate. Though she had always assumed she’d be more like her own mother, having only met her a couple of times briefly, she was actually a very interesting person in her own right with whom Aliénor immediately clicked. They discussed art, fashion, gossip, curse-breaking, politics, muggle discoveries and tons of other things together; never getting bored of one another’s presence.
( TW: Death & Grandparental Death ) Then, Aliénor’s grandmother died, and it was the first time Aliénor ever experienced grief, and it was extremely difficult for her. Her parents all came to the States for the funeral, though, which meant that she didn’t have to go through all of it alone. Her mother even came over without her husband (he had to work) and his kids, which Aliénor thought kind of sucked for her mother, but which she lowkey appreciated because it meant they could accompany each other through what had happened. Plus, her dads were there, which meant that Aliénor had a very good support system.
She took about six months off work after that, and sublet her apartment in New York City whilst she moved back in with her dads for that time. She did see her mom a lot during that time too, but mainly stayed with her dads in the Loire Valley.
After moving back to New York, Aliénor took back to her work with a little bit of difficulty, but after settling in, found herself enjoying curse-breaking just as much as she did before. She loves the thrill of it, and always has.
A year later, she bought herself a place in Brooklyn with some of the sizeable amount of money her grandmother left her. It’s a pretty roomy place with three bedrooms, and she shares it with one roommate (who there’s maybe still a wanted connection for), as she missed living with someone when she lived on her own.
present day.
Still living with her roommate, Aliénor’s life didn’t change much when it all went down, but as someone who had always been quite passionate about social justice, and who had a no-maj parent, it was clear in her eyes that she had to do something, which was why she ended up joining The Resistance and becoming a vetted member.
She tries to do everything she can, and sometimes puts herself second or third after this and work. Thing is, she wouldn’t be happy if she didn’t do everything she could to help out right now.
personality.
Aliénor’s quite outgoing, but kind of a mess when it comes to romantic relationships, which is why her one (1) serious relationship has been on-and-off for the last two years (the other person in that relationship is on the main’s wanted connections page and this blog’s connections page for Aliénor).
Fun to be around, Aliénor will almost always find a reason to smile. She can get quite intense and passionate, yes, but that doesn’t mean that she takes everything too seriously. In fact, she could do with taking more things more seriously.
Loves work, but also loves having fun. Probably enjoys having fun and letting loose a bit more, but work is a close second, as it is fun for her.
Loves a good joke, and a good prank, and will often try to use one of these to alleviate the tension in a difficult situation.
TLDR: the french daughter of a french-canadian sommelier and a french woman who worked at a high-paying job in fashion. loves both her parents, but is closer to her dad and his husband. grew up in the loire with the two of them, at her dad’s husband’s vineyard! currently lives in nyc in a roomy three-bedroom apartment with a roommate. having always been quite passionate about social justice, it just made sense for her to join the resistance. tends to put herself second, or even third. outgoing! but messy when it comes to romantic relationships. always finds a reason to smile, and tends to find humour in most things! lets loose a lot, although she knows where to stop not to put her work and what not in danger. often tries to find a way to alleviate the tension in a situation.

Wow i love them too! And your lesbian fanons? now im curious and i also think i have much more than canons
So many! Swan Queen, first and foremost. Followed very closely by Supercat. And Chrave (Raven’s Home) absolutely owns my heard right now. I also love Doctor Mechanic (The 100), King’s Gold (Unreal), Bumblebee (RWBY; tbh I am still holding out hope they’re gonna be canon), Tasha/Patterson (Blindspot), Linda/Maze (Lucifer), Myka/HG, Mirandy (Devil Wears Prada), Claire/Alice (Resident Evil), Xena/Gabrielle (though that doesn’t really fall in either category),Sugarless Gum (I am very behind on Adventure Time but they are also Xena-style canon/fanon from what I’ve heard), Vex/Zahra (Critical Role), Julia/Kady and Margo/Alice (Magicians), Buffy/Faith, Emily/JJ (Criminal Minds), Alicia/Kalinda (The Good Wife), Kim Possible/Shego, Gloria/Claire (Modern Family), Cat/Jade (Victorious), Robin/Lily (HIMYM), Monica/Rachel (Friends), Grace/Frankie, Rizzoli/Isles.
There are probably a hundred more, but these are the biggest? Also I only listed OTPs for each show, but I’m a multishipper and it’s a safe bet that in 99% of these shows I’m pro most if not all f/f ships :D

Colossal review
Directed by: Nacho Vigalondo
Written by: Nacho Vigalondo
Starring: Anne Hathaway, Jason Sudeikis, Dan Stevens
My rating: 3/5
After her boyfriend kicks her out, the unemployed alcoholic Gloria (Anne Hathaway) returns to her parents’ abandoned house. When a monster starts attacking Seoul, Gloria realises that her actions are directly causing this supernatural phenomenon.
(This review contains spoilers.)
I must confess I had no intention of watching this film. When sci-fi is good (Her, Black Mirror, Under the Skin, Ex Machina, The Martian…), it can challenge your perception of reality; but there are so many slack, hackneyed attempts at the genre that I don’t tend to go near it. I decided upon Colossal in a bout of I-wish-I-were-at-Cannes ennui, fuelled by an interview Hathaway had done on the movie for Stylist this week. As such, my expectations were low and, for the first act or so, I remained unconvinced. I like Anne Hathaway, I think she’s talented, but her stumbling, kohl-smudged portrayal of drunkenness was sadly lacking. You can’t help but compare her to her fellow Devil Wears Prada alumnus Emily Blunt’s incredible, SAG-nominated turn as an alcoholic in The Girl on the Train last year. Mercifully, Hathaway’s performance does get a lot stronger as soon as she puts the bottle down.
As is customary in these sci-fi flicks, the premise here is absolutely ridiculous and the reasoning underpinning the inexplicable goings-on is sketchy at best. Don’t worry, we have the mandatory scene of a character putting pieces of a puzzle together by making a wall map, complete with the overfamiliar marker-pen scribbles, Post-its and red string to show you something’s up. The twinning of Gloria and this destructive beast initially seems to be a clunky metaphor for her releasing her inner demon when she drinks, but it does come to serve a greater purpose. When her ostensibly accommodating childhood friend Oscar (Jason Sudeikis) unleashes his own bloodthirsty doppelgänger on the Korean capital, he blackmails Gloria to stay in town with threats to kill Seouls civilians. This shattering of his nice-guy façade was somewhat unexpected, especially since Sudeikis has earned a reputation for playing comedic parts. His evilness – which does, it should be said, become quite caricatural towards the end – offers a refreshing twist on the battered-woman trope, revitalising the much-visited theme of female imprisonment.
It may have its flaws but, for Saturday-night entertainment, you could certainly do a lot worse than the warm, suspenseful, intriguing film that is Colossal.

My Kind of Town has My Kind of Newspaper Articles
Meanwhile, in my Chicago home, this article crossed my desk one morning at work... This is some quality reporting right here! And kudos to the anonymous bloke who set it out for me.
_____
The Simpsons aired its landmark 600th episode and 27th “Treehouse of Horror” installment on Sunday. Now while we love Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie, the reason we keep returning to Springfield nearly three decades later has as much to do with the town’s other residents as it does the residents of 724 Evergreen Terrace. Two of USA TODAY’s biggest Simpsons fans, Brett Molina and Jayme Deerwester, make their cases for the series’ most valuable supporting character.
JAYME DEERWESTER: TEAM BOO-URNS
When it comes to Simpsons supporting characters ans especially the show’s villains, I have to hand the Montgomery Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence to none other than... Charles Montgomery Burns, Homer’s boss at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Smithers, release my talking points!
He’s a Funnier Version of a Political Candidate. In the 1990 episode “Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish,” Springfield’s richest man (and resident Citizen Kane stand-in) seeks to “embiggen” his dominion and do away with environmental regulations -- by running for governor. When a PR stunt dinner goes sideways and dooms his chances of winning he laments, “This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one going to jail. That’s democracy for you.” Sound like anyone you know?
He’s Adorably Out of Touch. Practically every line out of the old man’s mouth is a history lesson for the whippersnappers. Only back in our day we didn’t have Wikipedia to look them up. No, we had to go down to the basement and haul out the encyclopedia.  Like the time he goes to the post office and tells the clerk: “I’d like to send this letter to the Prussian consulate in Siam by aeromail. Am I too late for the 4:30 autogryo?”
Without Him, We Wouldn’t Have Waylon Smithers. The relationship between Mr. Burns and his long-suffering executive assistant was the original study in workplace Stockholm syndrome. An animated Devil Wears Prada, if you will. Smithers got the Ramones to play at his boss’ birthday party and identified Homer Simpson for him more times than we can count. He even grew a spine once in a while which resulted in at least one resignation and, at long last, his coming out as a gay man last season.
He’s a Dog Lover. He keeps his hounds well-exercised by releasing them on every person who shows up at his gate. Sometimes, when he’s feeling generous, he releases therapy hounds. He even sings catchy ditties about dogs. No, wait, See My Vest was actually about skinning puppies for their coats. Bad example. Moving on...
He’s True to Himself. On rare occasion, Mr. Burns dusts off what little conscience he has and experiments with becoming a better human being. He bribed Homer to tutor him on being likable. When he went broke, he agreed to give up his evil was in exchange for Lisa’s help in regaining his fortune. He even tried to find love with Marge’s mom and Gloria, the ex-girlfriend of Snake, the Kwik-E-Mart robber. But ultimately he realized he was denying his true nature as illustrated in this conversation:
Homer: “To be loved, you have to be nice to people. Every day. But to be hated, you don’t have to do squat.
Mr. Burns: “You know, perhaps you’re right. I got so swept up with the notion of being loved (that) I completely forgot who I am. I’m a selfish old crank. And that fits me like a Speedo.
You know what? If a selfish old crank is good enough for Smithers, then he’s good enough for me, too. [Jayme Deerwester]

I get flustered with attention ( > // _ // @puppetwritings I love her and support her always but never enough)). I love YELLOW! Favorite winter prompt? Hmmm, probably the failed attempt to get together at a holiday party(usually with mischevious friends involved). My best friends would be Wonwoo, the normal one, and now that I think about it, Moonbyul. I don't want to live in one place, so I would just like plants. And I don't plan on getting married or having kids or any of that. I'll just spoil the ones my friends have. I'm afraid of being alone, so afraid. I love bunnies and chinchillas, all of the small soft babies that are not dogs because I am allergic. My favorite book is called Homeless Bird by Gloria Whelan, I highly recommend. Also The Great Gatsby *swoon* I don't like TV or movies much, but I rewatch The Devil Wears Prada all the time, and Gatsby again *big ol' swoon* Wait! Also Memoirs of a Geisha, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and ummm Bring It On (just the original). I like Italian food and could eat just chocolate milkshakes forever but I also go through phases of not eating for days. It's a personal problem ^_^'I talked your ear off, babydoll. Tell me more about you. I wanna know your favorite art medium and your favorite brand of packaged lemonade and your feelings on milk v. water for hot chocolate mixers.

 GC PSY655 Week 1 Discussion 1 & 2
 PSY655 Week 1 dq 1
In the assigned article, “From Trait to Transformation: The Evolution of Leadership Theories,” Hesburgh is cited as having stated that “wherever it [leadership] exists, morale flourishes, people pull together toward common goals, spirits soar, order is maintained, not as an end in itself, but as a means to move forward together.” Choose one aspect of this statement and discuss in detail how it may or not be true. Be certain to provide at least one scholarly reference to support your position.
 PSY655 Week 1 dq 2
Discuss why researchers have had such a difficult time connecting leadership characteristics and behaviors to leader effectiveness and success?
 GC PSY655 Week 2 Discussion 1 & 2
 PSY655 Week 2 dq 1
Discuss how the definition of trust from page 712 of the assigned article, “An Integrative Model of Organizational Trust,” relates to a leader’s role in the lives of followers?
 PSY655 Week 2 dq 2
Why do coworkers place more trust in coworkers trusted by leaders? How is this important to our understanding of workplace behavior and leadership?
 GC PSY655 Week 3 Discussion 1 & 2
 PSY655 Week 3 dq 1
Discuss what can be drawn from the suggested findings of Brain and Lewis in the assigned article, “Exploring Leadership Preferences in Multicultural Workgroups: An Australian Case Study,” regarding the impact of education levels on leadership preferences in settings outside Australia?
 PSY655 Week 3 dq 2
How might the findings in the assigned article, “Gender and Leadership Style: A Meta-Analysis,” influence the way you would coach a group of developing male and female leaders?
 GC PSY655 Week 4 Discussion 1 & 2

Choose one definition of workplace stress and discuss it in relation to one of your own workplace experiences. How does the definition you chose fit within the framework of the example you describe?
 PSY655 Week 4 dq 2
Consider the two paradigms (individual and organizational) with respect to managing workplace stress. Find and discuss at least one “research-based” article supporting either the individual or the organizational workplace stress management approach.
 GC PSY655 Week 5 Discussion 1 & 2
 PSY655 Week 5 dq 1

 PSY655 Week 6 dq 1
A solid definition of the Law of Unintended Consequences is provided on page 54 of the assigned article, “The Unintended Consequences of the Application of Technology in Teaching and Learning Environments,” which includes work from Portes (2000). Draw a comparison between Portes notion of the importance of careful and sustained analysis of the social context and the red flags of poor decisions.
 PSY655 Week 6 dq 2
Consider the bicycle helmet example of Blanchflower in the assigned article, “The Law of Unintended Consequences.” Clearly more detailed research would be required to support his notion, but he poses an interesting way of considering unintended consequences.
