POV: You Got Wayyy Too High
Tumblr media
Warnings: Drug use (weed lol)
Aizawa Shouta/ Eraserhead
“Hey, what are you doing?” asked Aizawa as he plopped his bag at the door. You were trying to smoke weed from a pipe, but instead of lighting the actual herb, you were trying to heat it up from the bottom of the pipe.
You’d never smoked weed, but wanted to try it and bought the supplies from a local smoke shop, as well as buying some good stuff from your friend.
Unfortunetly, you also didn’t bother to look up how to actually use a pipe, instead just relying on knowledge you gained from drug documentaries.
This meant that you only knew how people heated up heroin with a flame under the spoon, which meant that surely you could do the same with weed.
“No, no, no, no. Stop that,” he ordered. You were his age, but nonetheless still buckled under his stern tone.
“Look, do you need me to show you how to do it?” he asked, gently taking the glass pipe from your hand. You nodded.
“Watch carefully,” he ordered, as he properly lit up the herb as he inhaled the smoke. He then passed it to you, watching you carefully to make sure you were doing it right. Soon, you got the hang of it.
Even sooner, though, you were a coughing mess.
“Calm it down, there. Don’t take huge puffs. You’re not impressing anyone here, y/n,” he scolded, taking another puff. He did it effortlessly, as if he’d done it for years. (He has.)
You wanted to impress him, though, even though he seemed to not care what you did. You just wanted to prove to him that you were ~cool~.
Well, this ended up in you looking very... uncool.
While Aizawa was chilling with a pretty decent high, you were laid across the bed, starfish style, blasting music in your ears. You were honestly vibing though, so Aizawa didn’t mess with you. For now.
The next day, he definitely teased you a little bit about how totally out of it you were, and how you listened to the same song on loop for 3 hours.
“How did you know that?” You asked, cocking a brow.
“Uh, because your headphones weren’t plugged in?”
Yagi Toshinori/ All Might
He was smoking when you came home, and though he tried to hide it, you smelled it. He acted as if he was just caught as a 17 year old in his mom’s house.
“Uh, no, it’s nothing! I...I don’t do anything like that!” He insisted.
“Toshi, come on. I can smell it,” you smiled. He covered his face.
“Please, please, keep this between you and I...I only do it because it helps with the pain and-”
You cut him off, “ I dont care why you do it, just lemme have some already!”
Of course, you were just teasing him, and he knew that, but he couldn’t help but ask, “...You smoke?”
You shook your head playfully.
“If you’ll let me, I’d like to try some, though!”
He passed it to you, and you took a way-too-long drag. Instantly, you were doubled over, coughing and hacking your lungs out.
He patted your back firmly.
“Since this is your first time, you’re gonna cough a little. Just try to take smaller puffs and take deep breaths. There you go.”
Once you recovered, and Yagi got his turn, he handed the joint back to you. It continued to be passed back and forth between you two until it was finally no longer than a centimeter.
For a moment, you both just chilled out on the couch together, just vibing. That was until Toshinori noticed your goofy, dreamy facial expression. He chuckled to himself, but that was all you needed to become hysterical, laughing so hard that you couldn’t breathe. Seeing you laugh so much of course made Toshi a mess as well, which only added to your decent into utter madness.
Eventually, though, you both calmed down, and Toshi excused himself so that he could go take a quick bath. He often did this whenever he smoked, so that the warm water could aid even more in soothing his aching muscles and creaky bones.
So you were left alone. Totally unattended. At first, everything was totally fine.
However, as you started to actually feel the effects of the herb, you began to panic.
Is this normal? Does everyone else feel like this when they smoke? Oh God, this isn’t right...oh fuck, I’m gonna be the first dumbass to OD on THC...fuck...
Thoughts whizzed past your brain, every single one making sure you knew how totally fucked you were.
Tears streamed silently down your cheeks as you counted your pulse with two fingers on your wrist, but you coulnd’t find a pulse.
oh fuck...i’m probably going to pass out any minute now...it’s all over...
Images of your final goodbyes to everyone you loved flashed just behind your eyes.
“How’re you holding up, pumpkin?” asked Toshi, coming back from the bath, in a robe and his golden hair still damp.
You looked at him, your eyes red and puffy.
“Toshi...I’m...I’m dying...I love you, okay?” you murmured. He would have laughed, all except he saw the genuine fear in your eyes.
He sat down next to you, surrounding you with all of his lanky limbs.
“You’re not dying, honey. What you’re feeling right now is totally normal, I promise. Take some nice, deep breaths for me. Come on. There you go. Good.”
He cradled you there for a good while, until he felt your tense muscles finally slacken, and your breathing evened out.
Toshi made a mental note to never let you smoke that much ever again, guilt pinching at his sides.
Fatgum/Taishiro Toyomitsu
You had taken an edible cookie from your friend. She told you it was just a small bit in there, just enough for you to feel something.
You decided to be modest, eating just half of the cookie. You didn’t notice any effects, and out of sheer boredom you decided to go ahead and eat the rest of it. No harm in that, right?
Well, an hour later, it kicked in. You were expecting to feel something interesting, but you definately weren’t expecting anything like this at all.
Everything seemed so far away. Even your breathing sounded like it was coming down a long corridor and echoing to your ears. You could feel your soul swimming in your body.
Fatgum, who you lived with, luckily finished his hero duties early, and walked into the house joyfully as usual.  He called out your name. You didn’t reply.
His large footsteps could be heard, but you were too busy thinking about how weird breathing sounds to notice.
Fatgum soon found you collapsed on the bathroom floor, face pressed against the cool tile.
Immediately, he propped you up against the wall, looking into your eyes with great concern.
“What did you take? Y/n, look at me. What did you take?”
You lazily looked at him, your face completely serious. As serious as it could be, anyway.
“...i...it was...edible...” you mumbled out. As soon as he understood, he was laughing hysterically.
“s..stop...s not funny...” you grumbled, punching him in the gut.
“Alright, alright... let’s get you into bed. You’ll feel much better once you wake up,” he smiled, picking you up and bringing you into the bedroom.
You quickly were comforted by the warm, heavy comforter. Fatgum took a moment to look at you in your groggy state, trying his best to hold back a laugh. It was so painfully obvious that you’d never done anything like this in your life. His only regret was not being around to witness your ascent into cloud 9.
Soon, though, you had drifted into dreamland.
Hizashi Yamada
You locked yourself in your bathroom, sneakily lighting up the joint you bought off of your friend. Your boyfriend was in his room, playing Fortnite or some shit, and frankly, you were embarrassed to smoke in front of him. You knew that he’d definately find something to roast you about, and he was relentless.
A couple minutes after you lit up, though, the door was basically busted down.
“HEY, HEY! You better be planning on sharing some of that!” yelled Hizashi, his hand already out and waiting. He still had his headset on, but you saw with relief that his mic was turned off. You passed it to him.
“Augh! Where the hell didja get this weak shit, y/n? Nah, this ain’t gonna cut it,” he complained, putting it out.
“Hey! I got that from my friend, dude! What the hell?” you frowned. Before you could be too mad at the waste, though, Hizashi pulled out a small wooden box from under his bed. Opening it, he revealed his stash of entirely too much pot.
You covered your mouth, stifiling a laugh. How the fuck could you have not smelled it?
Within five minutes, he’d rolled up a blunt, and was passing it to you, already lit.
It was gone after a little over half an hour, and you could already feel the effects. Your eyes were dry, your stomach craving junk food, and your brain craving chill vibes.
He returned to his game, unbothered but his volume definately toned down about 5 notches. He was a lot more chill than you’d ever seen him act, ever.
You found your way into the kitchen.
Once his game was over, he met you in there. You were in front of the fridge, pulling out thing after thing. By the time he’d gotten to you, you had eaten half a jar of pickles, three pieces of cake (with your bare hands), drank a bunch of soda, and you were headed for the chips that were sitting idly on the top of the fridge.
“oh, God...what the fuck are ya up to, dude?” he groaned. He did not want to deal with this mess.
You grinned at him.  “I dunno, maan... look dude could you just get me these up here? please bro...” you giggled. He sighed dramatically, taking them.
However, instead of handing them over to you, with your dirty little fingers, he ate them.
“stoppp, bro, please lemme get some!” you pouted. He acted as if he couldn’t hear you, leaving the kitchen. You followed after him, kicking him in the shins.
Still, he didn’t seem to notice.
“Hizashi, come on, maaannnn!”
He laid himself on the bed, covering himself with blankets. He pulled out his phone, calling you.  “Y/n, I miss you so much, man. Come chill out!” he spoke into the phone, trying his best not to break the act. You were absolutely furious at this point, punching at him.
“I’m right here, you doughnut!!” you groaned.  Dramatically sighing, Hizashi frowned, “I really wish y/n was here to sesh with me...” all while still eating the chips. You jumped on top of him.
Finally, you caught him off gaurd, grabbed the chips, and locked yourself back up in the bathroom.
This time, though, he just left you be.

do you have any new recipes that you've learned recently? i remember you wrote something a while ago about carbonara and i tried it out for myself it was really fun!!
i love this 😭 im gonna write way too much idec! something that has changed since that post: my kitchen is worse. i have a horrible combi oven which has resulted in me accidentally eating raw chicken, because it had been in there for more than 2 hours at supposedly 230 °C and i was really hungry and thought it HAD to be done by then. also i have less time and less money lol. it has made me a bit sad, and less motivated to cook nice things but i also love food! which means these tips/recipes are gonna reflect that and might seem a bit dull but probably also relatable for a lot of people.   i’ve definitely made spaghetti carbonara a bit too much because it’s simple and require few ingredients! will still vouch for that one tip about substituting the bacon with roasted veggies and other types of meat.
last week i made risotto for the very first time, i think? which means i might be assuming a bit too much, but i think it’s a great dish that you can almost make with whatever you have in your fridge. i made it with roasted beetroot(needs A LOT of time to soften, lesson learned), carrots and parsley root or parsnip(idk the difference), dried rosemary and thyme, garlic and onion. i had some leftover sushi rice, which is great for risotto apparently(love versatile ingredients), roasted them in some oil and then added white wine and chicken stock and actually added a leftover parmesan rind i had in the fridge to give the ‘stock’ some flavour, a bit of nutmeg and then in the end some shredded gouda lol… it was surprisingly delicious and i didn’t even really care to cook the rice perfectly. it also tasted delicious 3 days later, which was a nice surprise. i bet there are tons of risotto recipes online, but as long as you have rice, some kind of flavoured water, i guess you could kind of add whatever you want of veggies and top with whatever herb you have around.
another type of porridge i consume a lot these days is hot oat porridge, which i’ve eaten since i was little and it was the first ‘dish’ i learnt to make myself and it’s cheap. some people really dislike the consistency and look but i don’t. it’s also very easy to customise. i put in whatever nuts and seeds(which are often cheaper than nuts) i have around: flaxseed, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chopped almonds and sometimes a dollop of peanut butter. i let them simmer along with the oats. i like adding those elements because it gives it some texture and it keeps me more full throughout the day. it’s very important to me because i hate spending money i don’t have on fast-food when i’m not home and i hate being hungry. dried raisins, cranberries for a bit of sweetness and if i’m treating myself i’ll add some fresh apples cut into small pieces or some homemade berry compote(i use frozen) or brown sugar. if i had more money i’d use maple syrup but i don’t at the moment. i also add a bit of cinnamon and cardamom, dried ginger etc, whatever you feel like. some people also add milk afterwards but i’d rather spend my milk on my coffee.
a small tip: making chili flake / garlic oil. it’s really delicious, you could put it straight on pasta with some parmesan and pepper and it would be a filling meal. either chop the garlic really fine, grate it, microplane it, smash it to pieces. heat some olive oil until it’s quite hot, then remove from heat and add the chili flakes and garlic. if the oil isn’t hot enough you can just put the pan or pot back on the heat but be careful you don’t burn the chili flakes or garlic, as it will make it bitter. the longer it will toast, the less pronounced the raw garlic flavour will be, so when it smells toasted enough for your taste, take it off. i store it in a tiny glass jar and add it in stews, sauces, toasts, pizza, sandwiches etc. the flavour is very strong imo and everything it touches will smell like it. something to drink: i like strong foods and i like sour foods, which is why i like lemon/ginger based drinks. to make it even more winter friendly and easy to make, i like to grate unpeeled ginger(i hate slices of ginger, they do nothing for me and seems like a waste of ginger), lemon zest, lemon juice and mix it or blend it with some water/apple juice and honey and strain it afterwards. if you have a really nice blender you can just add all of it together with some ice. i’m basically making a large amount of ginger shot mixture. then when i feel like it, i can take some of the mixture and either drink it as it is, add more apple juice if i need a refreshing beverage or add hot water and more honey for when im cold. you could also add turmeric, chili, use less sweetener and other sorts of healthy stuff but i honestly do it for the taste so i don’t care about that that much.
something sweet: i posted earlier about cakes and someone mentioned swedish kladdkaka, which is a super delicious, cheap, brownie-like chocolate cake that is easily customized and hard to fuck up which is why i’ve made it since i was very young and is a go-to and i didn’t even know it was a swedish thing. if you like airy, light cakes this is not for your. this is sticky, sweet and almost like confection. you can add nuts, swirls of peanutbutter, tahini, actual pieces of chocolate, replace the white sugar with brown sugar, the butter with oil(you can be fancy and use a bit of olive oil) or use a mixture, brown the butter, you name it. the recipe i use is this: melt 100 g butter and let cool. mix 2 eggs + 3 dl sugar in a bowl until fluffy in one bowl. mix 1.5 dl flour, 4 tbs cocoa, 1 pinch of salt in another. mix the dry with the wet mixture and add the cooled, melted butter. this is the point where you’d add chopped nuts, chocolate etc. pour the batter into a cake tin lined with parchment (i use one that is 16 cm in diameters i think). bake the cake for around 30 mins at 150°C - 175°C degrees. check on the cake using a cake tester or a a knife. if the knife is clean after … stabbing it, it’s done! the cake will change it’s texture after cooling. this is a cheap cake, and if you like cake dough you might want to give it less time in the oven for a more fudgey texture. make it your own! there are no rules. last time i made this, i left it in for too long in my opinion but it was still delicious. also i literally have a shit oven with a round oven rack that goes in circles no matter what due to the microwave function, and the only ‘mixing’ equipment i have is a whisk and a spatula. no need for kitchen aids or  even electrical hand mixers.
something else i’ve been eating a lot for lunch is simple open faced sandwiches, and something that can really elevate those is: making your own mayonnaise(and toasting the bread). it can be challenging, but it’s really worth it imo and i can’t remember the last time i bought it in a store. i have a small plastic bowl, whisk and 1 egg yolk. something i can really recommend is buying pour snouts for bottles. i transfer my oils from their plastic bottles to smaller, old soda bottles because im cheesy like that and it’s really handy especially when making mayo. constantly whisking the egg yolk by hand and then adding the NEUTRAL oil ever so slowly. don’t be fancy and use cold pressed stuff or extra virgin olive oil because it will taste weird. i only ever fail when i try to use immersion blenders for some weird reason but i find it rewarding to do by hand anyways and i think it might be easier to make smaller portions that way. mayo needs acid and you can get it by adding regular vinegar, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, lime juice, pickle juice, citric acid dissolved in water etc. it’s really easy to customise! when im making banh mi, i add some sesame oil, soy sauce for saltiness and use lime as the acidic element. for more regular use i add a bit of mustard(also helps with the emulsion), for fries, i like adding some fresh garlic. something as simple as mayo, tomatoes, flaky salt and pepper topped with chives is really nice. i also really like using slices of boiled potatoes or boiled eggs(idk if that’s only a thing where i’m from), mayo and the chili garlic oil. it’s also great for making tuna salad. yesterday i made a really simple sandwich with a very simple tuna salad(tuna, mayo, yoghurt, lemon and pepper), arugula, basil, the garlic/chili oil, cream cheese, pickled jalapeños and onions, green peber, cucumber and tomatoes. you could leave out everything but the tuna salad and it would still be a great little meal.
another nice condiment that beats the supermarket stuff by far is homemade ‘pesto’. when i buy parsley from my local grocery store, it’s a gigantic amount that i in no way can consume in a week. first of all when buying fresh herbs i really recommend washing them, wrapping them in a damp towel and keeping them in a closed container. it will prolong their lifetime from lasting a day to a week(change the towel if it seems too wet). i once had some cilantro in my fridge for several weeks and still be fresh. anyways, when i buy that much parsley, i like to remove the tougher parts of the stem(which i use in stews/sauces! chop it up and sautee it along with garlic and onion), add literally just olive oil, water, pepper, garlic, and a bit of acid and then blend away! it keeps for a long time in the fridge and is also delicious beneath tomatoes/potatoes/cheese on open-faced sandwiches. if you want to be fancy you can of course add some type of hard cheese, nuts, seeds, dried tomatoes, whatever.
i know this is the longest text post ever, but as a last reminder, i really recommend watching pasta grannies on youtube. really simple recipes with focus on few, good ingredients that just takes some time and love.

Kinktober | There is No Spoon 🍋
Kipling x Dante
Big thanks to @arcanecadenza for letting me borrow Dante! I am in love with this pairing. I CANNOT stop thinking about them. Expect many, many, many fics with these two. I might just fuck around and write a damn book because who’s gonna stop me?
For context of Kipling and Dante’s first meeting, check out this fic: Between the Pages
CW: begging, distracted sex, anal penetration, oral
~ 1.7k words
It’s been some time since Kipling Bronne last saw Dante Aleghieri . The humble gardener missed the shy, dark-haired alchemist she met in the library while he was away. They had only begun to get to know each other before his job required that he leave town. They promised to meet up again if he were ever to pass through Vesuvia.
Kipling’s POV:
Kipling remembered Dante telling her that he liked tomato soup. Well, that was nice. So did she, but she couldn’t just make him plain old tomato soup for dinner. That wouldn’t make her stand out in his mind. No, she had to prepare this soup a little differently.
Carrots. That would add depth to the flavor without going overboard. And herbs. Lots and lots of herbs. Also cream. To add some body and smooth out the taste.
Kipling was in the middle of reaching for her jar of thyme when there was a sudden knock at the door. Her gut tightened.
Relax, Kipling. It’s probably just a client.
Kipling set the stove fire down to a simmer and went to the front door to find that… it was definitely not a client waiting for her.
“Dante!” Kipling drew a sharp breath in the presence of her still very new, very awkward crush. Though he was much too early, she put on a welcoming smile for him.
“Dinner’s not ready yet, but come in. It’s good to see y–”
Dante stumbled right into her, his ungainly limbs gathering her up against his chest. Kipling had forgotten how broad and rough his hands were. His lankiness, his largeness. She had forgotten how tentative and at the same time how forward he was with his affection.
Kipling kissed him back, letting go of those annoying formalities that the time away had planted in her head. When they had both got some of that longing for each other out of their systems, Dante finally pulled back and apologized for arriving so early.
Standing so close, Kipling could only concentrate on the beauty mark in the center of his lower lip.
“It’s good to see you too.” He said so with the awareness of where her attention was fixed.
Kipling felt her smile become a bit warmer as she tugged him inside. She asked him to tell her about his travels after she pulled up a stool for him at her kitchen island and returned to the soup.
Dante only managed to summarize a few of his harrowing adventures before he kept stopping and sniffing the air. Kipling didn’t comment on it, but allowed herself a satisfied smile as she kept her back to him. She knew it would only be a matter of time before…
“Sorry, I keep getting distracted because this smell is just... incredible.”
Just as Kipling suspected, Dante drifted up behind her, close enough to embrace her if he wanted to. She steadied her nerves while she took her narrow, wooden spoon and scooped some of the opaque, sunny broth. Holding up the spoon and turning slightly, she offered it to her guest.
Kipling kept her grin in check as Dante eagerly sampled her work in progress.
“Oh.” His eyelids fluttered as he savored the taste and went back to the spoon to suck off the rest.
“Kipling, that’s really, really good.”
The humble gardener dipped the spoon in the pot and offered it up a second time.
“Do you want some more?”
Dante was nodding before Kip even finished the question. This time, as she brought the spoon close to his mouth, she angled her head towards his neck and walked her lips up to his jawline. Dante, unsurprisingly, could not contain any of his shy, breathless noises. There was something kind of irresistible about the particular way he became flustered. It managed to both excite and embolden Kipling.
Kip started to take down Dante’s hair just as he undid his pants.
“Um…”
Kipling withdrew, noticing that it wasn’t her Dante was looking at, but at the spoon. She too stared for a moment before she understood.
Dante finally fell out of his own trance, his sun-baked complexion broken by a dark band of blush as he met her gaze.
Kipling twirled the spoon between her fingers. “I have some salve in the bathroom. The soup needs someone to watch it. Think you can handle that?”
He gave another one of his enthusiastic nods. Kipling left to go rinse off the spoon and find that lemongrass salve that she knew was hiding somewhere…
When Kipling returned, she was relieved to see that Dante hadn’t ruined their dinner. Still, she turned the stove back down to a simmer so she could take care of her guest.
As soon as Dante recognized the smooth product coating the length of the spoon, he surprised Kipling with another round of hungry kisses. Kipling helped him get his pants down to his ankles. She remained standing and moved beside him, making it easier to work with both hands. After squeezing the precum from his cock and giving her thumb a swift suck, she met Dante’s gaze.
“You’re supposed to be watching the pot, remember?”
Dante’s features flashed with brief panic before he caught on to Kip’s little game.
“Right.” His low-lidded gaze gave him away. Playing along, he focused on the barely simmering soup and spread his legs a little wider. Meanwhile Kipling teased his rim with the fingers she coated in salve earlier. Then she pressed the head of the narrow spoon into his warm opening. With her other hand, she pumped his cock, pausing every so often to inch the spoon deeper.
Dante was not watching the pot.
He grunted a lot, and would turn to give Kipling a hot, flustered kiss before breaking away just to groan some more.
Trapping his bottom lip between his teeth, he hissed, “Oh gods. Kip, I-I don’t want to come yet.”
Kipling didn’t want that either, so she eased the spoon out and let go of his cock.
“That’s good,” she said as she went to the sink to wash off, “because no one’s coming tonight until we finish our dinner.”
Dante fumbled with his pants. “I beg your pardon?”
Kipling smiled cheerfully. “Bowls are on that shelf over there. Help yourself to as much as you want and meet me at the table.”
***
Dante’s POV:
I need her to eat my ass. I need her to eat my ass. I need her to eat my –
Dante’s mind raced, coming up with all the reasons why Kipling might say no. She had been such an accommodating host so far, but what if he was asking for too much?
He definitely could have shown better manners since he showed up. Up until he arrived at Kipling’s doorstep, he had no plans on kissing her. Yet somehow that happened before he even said a word of greeting. But how could he stand a chance? When Kipling opened that door, she unleashed a wave of delightful scents. Herbs and olive oil from the kitchen. And then there was the halo of seawater and coconut extract that no doubt lived in her hair and on her skin. Her light brown eyes had regarded him with surprise and then instant acceptance, perhaps even longing.
It might have been a mistake to kiss the gardener so soon, but he forgot about his regret when he felt her reaction. So sensitive to every touch, leaning into him with such intensity. As if her magic carried the weight of an entire ocean. Her walls disintegrated fast, revealing the Kipling that he had met in the library. Curious, observant, and intent on testing her knowledge in ways he least expected.
Kipling must have noticed that Dante wasn’t eating because she lifted her gaze and gestured to the soup that he barely touched.
“Are you going to finish that?”
Dante blinked away his reverie. Then he sighed and shook his head.
“I’m so sorry, Kipling. You went through all this trouble, but I don’t think I can enjoy this meal until...”
The ghost of a smirk graced the gardener’s freckled face as she arched a dark brow. None of which was helpful to Dante in that moment.
He started to ramble. “What you were doing earlier with the spoon was… generous, but I’m afraid I don’t deserve your hospitality –”
“Dante,” Kipling interrupted, “speak to me plainly. What are you trying to say?”
She knew damn well what he meant.
Still, Dante needed to be honest.
“I want you to be the spoon, Kip. The way you kissed me, I just thought if –”
Kipling got up from her side of the table and came over to where he was. He stood up too.
“When I’m finished,” she said, her voice low and husky, “that bowl of soup better be empty.”
Dante swallowed. “Oh gods, of course.” Then he whispered, “Thank you.”
Kipling’s eyes softened before she spared him one last slow kiss.
“You’re sweet, Dante. Enough that you don’t ever need to beg. Still,” she stole a glance, “I really like it when you do.”
If Kipling wanted him to beg, then Dante would beg all night if he had to.
“Kip, please… be the spoon.”
Dante moved in a little closer, brushing his erection against her leg so she could know how desperate he was. How much he needed her.
He didn’t know how many times he said please. Kipling impressed him with her ability to appear stoic. But finally, she relented and told him to pull down his pants. When he did, the smell of the lemongrass lubricant kissed the air, still clinging to his skin from before.
“Lie down,” Kipling instructed, bending him over the edge of the table while dropping down to her knees. Dante remembered his orders from earlier and focused on eating his soup. But once Kip warmed up his ass with her fingers and started exploring with her tongue, his mind blanked.
Dante was acutely aware of the flux of pressure as Kipling spread his cheeks apart and bobbed her head in a dreamy rhythm. He held onto the table like it was his only lifeline. He wished he had the fortitude to jerk himself off, but all he could manage to do was weep with fresh cum and pathetically hug the table.
“Uh, Dante? Are you all right?”
Dante shakily pried himself from the table and sort of melted in a heap on the floor next to Kip. Then he surprised her with a messy kiss, tasting remnants of the lemongrass salve and traces of his own sweat.
“I didn’t finish the soup. Sorry.”
He really was a rotten guest.
Kipling grinned. “Was I that good of a spoon?”
Dante looked down at his stiff length before reaching for Kipling’s wrist. Guiding her hand to where he needed her most, he said, “You were… more than good, Kip. Much more than that.”

Highland Destiny Chapter 5 ~Dinner for Two~
They were standing in the middle of the lounge, suspended in time and space, between heaven and earth, looking into one another's eyes. Claire's hand was still in Jamie's, his fingers generating tiny sparks that surged erratically through her body, fanned into a flame with just a little pressure of touch. His eyes, dark with wanting, bore into her soul, sending delicious heat to her core. She felt the sudden rush of blood to her head as her heart raced, scattering all logic and reasoning into some unknown dark abyss. She tried to summon a memory from the past; Frank, Oxford, the hospital corridors, her parents, uncle Lamb... anything to keep her from drowning into Jamie's deep blue. But it was futile. She was falling, dropping, slipping, but she had no idea into where.
The electrically charged interlude was interrupted by the sound of ringing from Claire's iPhone, jarring them from their trance and making them both blink. "  Dhia  !" Jamie murmured under his breath as his hand released Claire's, to rub the nape of his neck.
Ding! Ding! Saved by the bell.
O' sweet Lord Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ! Ding ding indeed!
Regaining a tiny bit of composure, Claire reached behind the back pocket of her jeans, extracting her phone. "I need to take this," she whispered hoarsely, barely audible.
He nodded and motioned with his hands towards the doorway as he made his way to the kitchen. She nodded back with an apologetic smile.
Seeing the image of the caller on her phone, Claire momentarily forgot Jaime and what just transpired. "Geillis, darling!"
"Hiya chick! How are you daein'? O' my God, o' my God ah heard from Joe yoo're in town. Sae, ye moved here for good?" answered an animated woman's voice in broad Glaswegian.
" Absobloodylootely – YES! Oh God, it's so good to hear your voice, Geillis. We ought to meet up as soon as possible. Listen, are you free Friday night? If so, let's catch up then. It has been bloody ages!"
"Och this is so excitin'! Aye definitely, let's meet up. Maybe Joe will come too. Ah cannae wait tae see you and show you our shop. By th' way, what's wrang wi' ye? Ye sound like ye hae bin runnin'. 'Tis a bad time?"
Claire twisted backwards to peek through the doorway. She saw Jamie leaning over the sink, splashing water to his face and neck and felt the heat crept up her own. "Well, kind of. Look, sorry to make this short but got to go. I promise to call you first thing tomorrow. Is Scotch & Rye Pub on Friday at 7 ok? I've been told that its the place to be. We can grab some fish and chips if you fancy."
"Brilliant, sorted! Scotch & Rye pub it is then Friday at 7! Ah cannae wait. An', och, Claire...you hae a laddie there wi' ye?" She can almost see her friend's cheeks dimpling and giving a wicked wink.
"Sod off, Geillis!"   She always knows, the bloody cow!   With that, Claire turned off her phone.
Although she was so thrilled to hear from her friend, the call was a welcomed distraction. Geillis was one of her closest mates in Oxford in medical school. And along with Joe, they were the three Musketeers in the campus until Geillis dropped out. In the earlier days, she developed an interest in Alternative Healing after joining a movement against big pharmaceutical companies; hence, she left her medical studies and followed her boyfriend to Inverness to set up a health and herb shop.
Claire was staring at the phone in her hand when Jamie walked back in. He leaned on the doorway, smiling, his breadth blocking the light from the corridor. "Hey, Sassenach. Shall we start dinner?"
She smiled back. "Sure!" And she followed him to the kitchen taking his outreached hand.
..........
In the next half hour, Claire busied herself with dinner's preparation while Jamie chopped the shallots and washed the chanterelles. Still rattled from earlier, she carefully stirred their conversation onto something neutral and avoided eye contact, but working in such a small area, touching was unavoidable. A couple of times, he had to place his hands on her hips as he navigated narrow spaces, and his mere touch sent bolts of heat coursing through her body. But with his laid-back and relaxed manner, it wasn't long before they were back to bantering and joking. Once the chanterelles had been sauteed, and the rice and shallot simmering in broth and wine, she left him to continue cooking while she washed and changed.
Drying herself after a quick shower and shave, Claire was very conscious of Jaime in the other room. Just knowing that he was there under the same roof was enough to make her heart do somersaults. She could hear him moving about as the wooden floors creaked and the pots and pans banged. For a very big man, he looked right at home and comfortable working in the kitchen.
In her bedroom, she looked for something to wear but looking into her wardrobe, there wasn't really a lot of choices.   Well, it's only Jamie anyway, it's not like it's a date!
Well Beauchamp, ready for round 2? Ding! Ding!
Wot round 2? There will be no round 2.
So why did you shave your legs?
Rubbish! I always shave my legs.
Liar, liar, pants on fire!
Annoyed with herself, she decided to put on a pair of black leggings, an over-sized sweatshirt emblazoned, OXFORD and white woollen socks. She twisted her hair to the top of her head and fastened it with a hair clasp after giving up on taming her wayward curls. Looking into the mirror, she scrunched her nose and poked her tongue out.
Ok, Beauchamp, let's do this!
Do what?
Get laid?
Not gonna happen.
But you want to.
I do not!
Liar, Liar, Pants on fire!
Sod off!
Satisfied with her reflection, she went to the kitchen.
When Claire walked in, Jaime was in the process of opening a bottle of Chablis. He gave her one of those heart-dropping smiles as he took in the sight of her. His eyes travelled up and down, lingering for a moment at her breast.   Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ! Can he tell I don't have a bra?   She quickly reached down to touch the hem of her sweatshirt to check its thickness. Taking it as an awkward moment, Jamie reached out and guided her to the table, placing a hand on the small of her back. The scent of her favourite food made her stomach growl ferociously. He must have heard her belly rumble. "Hungry Sassenach? he said with a grin.
She was pleasantly surprised to see that Jamie did make himself at home. There was nothing else for her to do: the table was set, the green salad dressed, her flowers haphazardly arranged in the vase and placed on a side table, and he even had a few of her scented candles burning. In the background, she could hear L-O-V-E song by Nat King Cole playing softly in the lounge. In spite of her nervousness, she couldn't help but smile. Maybe the hunger was getting the better of her.
"Very hungry, indeed!" she replied. Then cocking her head, she exclaimed, "Oh my God, Jaime, you have Uncle Lambs record player working! Sorry, I don't have any sound system set up yet. It's been a hectic during the last few days. There's still a lot of things I need to do with this house."
"Och, dinna fash Sassenach. I love old music and light jazz. We still have my grand parent's record player in our family home, and occasionally, we play some of my ma's collections for 'ol time sake. I hope you dinna mind me going through your uncle's records."
"No of course not, that's what it's there for. Maybe after dinner, we can go through some and listen to some old jig."
"That's grand, Sassenach!" He took her hand and kissed the inside of her palm.
Over the next couple of hours, Jamie and Claire got better acquainted over Rissotto and wine. As the evening progressed, Claire began to relax and enjoy herself as they exchanged stories about their families and life. She found Jamie charming, and like most Scots, he was born a storyteller. He spoke of his late parents and his sister in Lallybroch where he grew up, and in return, she reciprocated in kind and spoke of her travels to archaeological sites with Uncle Lamb and what she can remember of her parents.
After dinner, they moved to the lounge to listen to records. While Jamie lit up the log burner and prepared the whisky and tumblers, Claire fixed a tray of strawberries and cream and coffee. Claire couldn't help notice how at ease Jamie was - he looked like he's lived in Uncle Lamb's cottage forever. For the first time she arrived in Inverness, Claire felt at home, and she wondered if it had to do with Jamie.
..........
Three-quarters of the whisky bottle later, Jamie and Claire collapsed on the floor, spent from laughing so much, after attempting to dance the can-can to Sinatra's "New York, New York." Jamie was a terrible dancer, and Claire couldn't help but giggle her way through the routine. After a few more twirls and twists, they decided to call it a night. She didn't want the evening to end, but it was getting rather late.
Claire got up from the floor and holding up an almost empty bottle in the air, she announced, before slumping on the sofa, "Ok, Jamie, last drink. I'm totally knackered."
Jamie followed suit, but instead of sitting beside her, he sat down on the coffee table facing her. He reached out and took her hands between his own. This time, there was no hint of seduction or suggestion of flirt. "Sassenach, thank ye so much for a lovely evening. I've never laughed so much in my life, but I will need a taxi, I canna drive back home in my state," he said with a slight slur.
"Rubbish, you can stay here, there's plenty of room. I won't have you driving after drinking so much, and you can have my bed, it's the biggest in the house. I'll take the guest room," Claire insisted. She tried to stand up but swayed a bit. As she regained her balance, she looked up at him and smiled. "And Jaime, I had a wonderful time too. Thank you." Claire got on her tip-toes and gave Jamie a kiss on the cheek before swaggering backwards. She giggled. "Ooops."
"Weel, if ye don't mind, then I don't mind either." Jamie slightly unsteady on his feet, caught Claire by the elbows and laughed.
Claire peered into the almost empty bottle of whisky and poured the rest in each of the tumblers. "Good! That's settled then. And no, I don't mind at all. Last drink?" she said, handing a glass to Jaime.
"Aye." And raising his glass, he made a toast. "Slange var Sassenach!"
Claire wobbling on her feet managed to raise her glass, laughing. "Cheers mate!"
After downing their whisky, Claire handed the glasses and empty bottles to Jamie. "Right, I'll go and get some fresh sheets, and you can bring these in the kitchen. Then off to bed."
"To bed or to sleep?" he asked mischievously with a glint in his eyes.
"Ha-ha,"
Claire hurried to the bedroom, slightly zig-zagging as she made her way. That last remark from Jamie made her conscious of him all over again.   Damn you, Jaime!   As she was getting some fresh linens from the cupboard, she heard a thump and glasses falli
"Jamie, are you alright?" She went quickly to the kitchen and found Jamie taking off his shirt stained with wine. On the floor were shards of glass and spilt leftover wine.
"Och sorry Sassenach, I'm not familiar with your house, and I forgot you had boxes laid there. I tripped over them."
Claire thinking he might be still shaky on his feet due to intoxication, pulled him away from the broken glasses. "It's alright, Jamie. Just stand back a little please." After cleaning up, she went over to him to see if he had a cut. "Let me see you hands Jamie."
"Dinna fash Sassenach, it's just a wee cut." He held up his thumb, and she saw there was a shard sticking out. She quickly went to her first aid kit drawer, to get a tweezer, iodine and some cotton. It was a small cut, but the shard had to be taken out.
Holding Jaime's thumb to the light, she pulled the glass out from the cut, and fresh blood started to flow. Without thinking, as if it was the most natural thing to do, Claire put his thumb to her mouth to suck the blood.   Oh, sweet Mother Mary, what did I just do?    She only came to her senses when she felt Jaime drew a sharp intake of breath. She felt embarrassed. Feeling idiotic and foolish, Claire didn't dare look up to Jaime and slowly released his hand. Head bowed, she realised he had taken off his shirt after forgetting about it for a moment. As her eyes wandered to his naked torso, she noticed his hard washboard abs and the movement of his breathing. On the hollow of his navel, ran a trail of dark reddish-gold hair that disappeared into his jeans. The thought of running her finger on that trail made the insides of her legs quiver. The skin on her face and neck turned hot.   Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ, what have I done, and what am I thinking?
"Sassenach, are you alright?" Jaime said softly as he lifted her chin to look him in the eye. What she saw in Jaime's eye was a concern, instead of his usual mischief. She can only nod, too aware of Jamie's naked torso "You dinna need to be scairt of me - I wouldna force me on you." He paused, taking her hand. "But I would verra much like to kiss you. Would you mind?"
Point of no return, she swallowed. "No Jaime, I wouldn't mind." She paused and then continued, her voice sounding raspy to her ears. "Please kiss me," Then she placed her cool hands on his hard abdomen.
The moment, Claire touched him, he felt his body was on fire. He thought of the other women in his life in the past,   Louise, Geneva, Annalise, Laoghair e, and looking back, he realised how shallow they have been. The sex was always a welcome release, but beyond that, there was nothing. With Claire, everything came naturally; he was himself, he can laugh, and most of all, she was herself. He looked down at the woman before him but still found himself confused with what he was feeling.
Jaime, staring into Claire's golden caramel eyes, slowly lowered his head, one hand behind her neck and the other on her waist, pulling her against him. Their lips met, just the lightest touch, but it was enough to send electricity sparks across every nerve ending. It was just a grazing of lips, but he was shaken to the core. He pulled away, his heart hammering, taking shallow breaths. He looked at Claire's beautiful face, her eyes were closed and her lips lightly parted.   Dhia!   Unable to contain himself, he pulled her back once more, this time into a more passionate and intense kiss. He gently thrust his tongue to the opening of her mouth, parting them to delve inside, teasing and probing until she made whimpering sounds. Her own kisses became hot and urgent, her arms snaking around his neck while her fingers ran through his hair, and this made him kiss her harder more. Standing on tiptoes, she pressed her body closer, crushing her breast against his hard chest, sending pleasures down his groin and making Jamie groan.
They pulled away for air, and Jamie searched Claire's face. "Sassenach, I want ye so much, I can scarcely breathe. Will ye have me?" His voice cracked.
He thought his heart would burst when she nodded.
Feeling emboldened, Jamie then hoisted Claire on to the kitchen counter and clumsily pulled up her sweatshirt, releasing her hair from its clasp and revealing her white breasts. Her curly mass came tumbling down, and Jamie ran his hands through them, raining her neck with urgent kisses and nibbling her earlobes. "  Mo Nighean Donn,"   he whispered. Her legs automatically wrapped themselves around his waist, and she arched her back as an invitation, Jamie's Gaelic endearments making her wild. "Christ Claire, ye are so beautiful!" Jamie whispered in a ragged voice.
Claire moaned loudly as he lowered his head to suckle at each breast, paying homage to each erect nipple. Then his tongue started its frenzied exploration on her skin as his hands tugged at the waistband of her leggings. Once released from the constriction of clothing, Claire said in a husky voice, "Take off your pants, I want you now."
Seeing Claire exposed on the kitchen counter with her legs apart, was enough to drive Jamie wild with lust. He quickly unbuckled his belt and lowered his jeans without taking his eyes off Claire. Relieved of his jeans, he gathered her into a crushing embrace, his hands fondling her round arse, pressing his hardness against her. Her hips started to rotate, wrapping her legs tighter. He reached down between her thighs, and the feel of her slippery wetness made him groan and grab her thighs even tighter. "Jamie, I want you inside me, please."
Hearing the plea, Jamie lifted her with ease, spreading her legs as he pinned her against the wall. Without a word, he plunged his cock into her wetness. Jamie silenced her cries with a hard kiss thrusting his tongue in the same rhythm as his cock. After a moment, breathing hard, he released her lips, biting and kissing her neck, his hands tightening their hold on her arse as he rammed into her, slamming Claire's back against the kitchen wall. She whispered "harder," and "deeper" as she bit him hard on the neck, which drove Jamie to the edge. He did as she asked and more. As Claire let out a loud cry, her body began to convulse, making his balls tighten. Finding his own abrupt rush of release, Jamie arched his back as he thrust one last time and let out a grunt.
They held each other for a long while, not speaking, not moving. Eventually, Jamie carried Claire to her bed. She was limp in his arms. As he laid her down, he slipped in under the duvet with her and gathered her close to him. They fitted perfectly. And then he whispered softly,   tha gaol agam ort mo chridhe.

Chapter 3: Day Two - The Village.
Scully woke up, in a tangle of sheets. She hadn’t worn much to bed as it was too warm even at 11 o'clock at night. The sun shone brightly through the folds in the blinds. If she were to take a guess, she would say it was around 9am. She had forgotten to set her alarm the night before, but she didn’t mind losing all sense of time. She sat up, the smell of fresh coffee and something else: breakfast maybe. She stepped out of bed, her legs slightly heavy as they hadn’t been used for a few hours. She walked through to her wardrobe grabbing her black silk kimono and wrapped it around her before descending down the stairs.
She stopped halfway to find Mulder listening to the radio and singing along to it. From what she could hear it was Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley. Then she looked around the room to find the table had been set with plates, cutlery, even a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. It looked like he had cooked her a full English breakfast: bacon, eggs, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes, beans, hash browns.
She descended the rest of the stairs, making sure nothing was in Mulder’s hands before speaking just in case she made him jump.
“I didn’t know you cooked Mulder.”
He jumped a little and then turned around to face her, his eyes lighting up at the sight of her, his smile covering his full face.
“It’s one of my many talents, it’s just no fun cooking for one.”
“So, in all those years I have known you, why haven’t you cooked for me?”
“You’ve never asked, Scully,” he was serious but not full of conviction.
“Touche.”
“Anyway, sit down. Breakfast is served, madam and if you would like a coffee, I just brewed a small pot.”
“Thank you, Mulder, but you didn’t have to do all of this.”
“Of course I do.” There was a short pause. “You deserve the world, Scully, ”  he whispered.
His eyes told her he meant it.
“Tuck in, Scully, before it gets cold.”
An hour later the food was eaten, and she enjoyed every last piece of it. He was an exceptional cook. He added spice and herbs and the food had never tasted so good. She nursed her coffee waiting for it to cool down
“What is on the agenda for today, Mulder?”
“Well, I thought maybe we could wander through the village, and possibly try out their homemade ice cream.”
“That sounds like a wonderful idea,”  she soon finished her coffee and went upstairs to get changed. Soon after Mulder did the same.
He shut his bedroom door, leaning against it and thinking about that morning events over and over again in his mind. But spending yesterday with her, he lost all resolve to keep his emotions in check, and guarded. She unintentionally was breaking those walls around his heart. But in doing so he felt like she was also letting him to hers.
He walked to his suitcase, he still hadn’t unpacked, and his clothes were hanging out the sides. He found the brown shorts he was looking for and also the grey tank top. He quickly showered and changed before heading downstairs to wait for Scully.
30 minutes later and some more of his book read, he was sitting on the cushioned Wicca sofa when he heard Scully stepping down the stairs. He placed a bookmark where he had stopped, and placed the book next to him on the table. He shifted in his seat and looked around to see her. She was stunning, wearing a yellow long skirt and a white tank top.   Her hair was in a messy ponytail and she was wearing a straw kind of hat to keep the sun from burning her face, she had already slightly caught the sun yesterday as her normally pale skin was a tad on the pink side.
“You ready to go?” he asked enthusiastically.
“Yes I am, but I can’t find my sandals, have you seen them?” He watched her look under the sofa, then around the front porch, then in the kitchen.
“Scully have you tried on the back porch? ” he watched her walk out of the french doors staring at her ass. ‘One of these days she's gonna catch me staring, and when that day happens I'm done for” he smiled at the thought and watched her re-enter the room.
“Thank you, how far is it to the village?”
“About a 20 minutes walk, 5 minutes on the beachfront, straight across the bridge and 5 minutes walk to the village.”
She beamed a smile in his direction.
“You might be able to see the wild horse as we walk, a little blonde bird told me they were in the area.”
He didn’t know it was possible but her smile got even wider. He knew how much she liked horses though she had never told him herself, he remembered the story her mother told him while she was missing of how her father took her to horse riding lessons whenever he was on leave. And it’s something the two of them shared until she was well into med school.
//
The walk to the village was pleasant, she didn’t see the wild horses but she didn’t mind, spending time with Mulder was enough, he made light conversation, made her laugh telling her stories of the lone Gunmen and the pranks they pulled on each other.
They stopped at local shops, they were so beautiful on the outside. There were brownstone buildings, wood buildings, flowers as far as the eye could see on each side of the road: blues, yellows, whites and so much lavender. She could smell them mixing with the sea air.
When they were done browsing the local shops, they found a small restaurant on the main street looking out onto the marsh. She stood outside reading the sign  AJ’s on the creek. She walked inside and instantly smelled the seafood. She followed Mulder to the table and looked around. The tables were covered in crisp white linens and topped with paper napkins and bottles of hot sauce. She pulled a menu up to her face but causally lowered it a little so she could study her partner. He had definitely caught a tan, he was a lovely golden bronze now. She could see the sweat forming on his brow trickling down his nose.
“What looks good Scully?”
“Hum…”
“Scully?”
Mulder looked at her with confusion. She looked back at him realising that she had been staring and daydreaming for the last 5 minutes about her partner. And she had been caught in the act.
She started blushing, hoping he hadn't noticed, and if he did, hoping to put it down to the sun catching her Irish skin.
“Oh the Seasonal soft-shell crab, served fried on platters, and a romaine salad is with a zesty citrus Caesar dressing, Parmesan crumbs, and crisped bread sounds delicious.”
“The way you just made it sound, makes me want that exact dish.” He raised his eyebrows, in a mock teasing way. And she instantly knew there was a double meaning behind the first part of that sentence.
Their meal arrived and it was just as incredible as it sounded on the menu,  while she waited for him to finish she thought about a few things
Her feelings for her partner were becoming so clear to her now, but she didn’t want to give in to them, she was scared of losing him, the friendship, their partnership.  He was slowly becoming everything to her. Like he was a part of her and no way in hell she would risk it. But damn she just wanted to kiss him, pull that bottom lip of his in her lips and bite it hard. She soon suppressed such a feeling and carried on.
“I have a small surprise for you before we go to the ice cream shop.”
“Mulder, you know I don't like surprises.”
“Well, Miss, I know, but you will love this one, I promise. ”
“Sure, fine, whatever.”
Mulder paid for the meal and started leaving her following close. Just before she stepped out, someone stopped her by gently tapping her on the shoulder.
“You have a lovely husband there, he is definitely a keeper.”
She didn’t know how to respond, she didn’t want to correct the poor woman. But she didn’t have an answer for her. So she simply nodded and left the restaurant.
30 minutes later and both of them were standing outside a quite large building looking at the sea.
“What are we doing here, Mulder?”
Before he could answer and an elderly gentleman came up the gate. He was dressed in blue levis and a black and red checkered shirt.
“Mr and Mrs Mulder?”
Again they were mistaken for a married couple, twice in one hour. She sighed, not saying anything again and Mulder didn’t correct the man either. Instead, he nodded at the old man.
“Ok, then, this way. They’re going to need to be brushed, before you go on them. But they are both beautiful.”
Mulder nodded again and looked at her utterly confused face. He just gave her a wide grin while he guided her to a stable. There were two beautiful pedigree horses: one completely black and another, white and brown.
“Oh, my God, they are beautiful Mulder; but I still don’t get it?”
“Yes they are Mrs Mulder,” the old man interrupted her. “And they are just ready to go out. Just before I leave you two alone, Mr Mulder said you didn’t need any training to ride the horses and both of you have previous experience.”
“Yes, thank you.”
With that, the man left them alone.
“How did you know I used to ride? And, more importantly, how did I not know that you do too?”
“First, your mother told me. And second, I learnt with Samantha on the vineyard. She loved horses and she didn’t want to go alone because at first, they scared her.”
Scully saw the pain in his eyes, but there were also small hints at happiness from the memories.
“Why did you never tell me?” she asked moving towards the black horse.
“I suppose it just never came up.”
//
Mulder saw the delight in Scully’s eyes as she trouted along the beachfront: she was truly enjoying herself. Her hair was like fire against the blue of the sea and the black of the horse.
“Mulder, I’m so glad we did this, it’s been a very long time since I rode a horse.”
“My pleasure Scully. We really should be heading back if you want to try that ice cream.”
“Ok, race you!” she suddenly yelled and took the horse into a full gallop, leaving a cloud of sand dust in her mist.
“Cheat!” he shouted, but she was gone
Mulder clicked the rains and went into a full gallop after her. When he finally caught up to her, she was stroking her horse waiting for him.
“What took you so long?” she was trying to stifle her laugh.
“You do know that cheaters never prosper,” he looked at her and she was still holding her laugh back.
“And Foxes don't win.”
“Wow, Scully, below the belt.”
He was teasing her and she knew it. He picked her up off her horse and brought her close to his body before putting her on the ground, rubbing her a little too much against his body.
She pulled him close, lent up on her tiptoes, and whispered in his ear.
“I know that’s where you want me, and I want it too.”
She turned around on her heels, grabbing the horse’s reins, and walked towards the stable. She erupted with laughter, leaving him dum-stuck, unable to speak or even breathe. He finally managed to remember how to breathe and grabbed the reins on his horse finally walking to put him back in the stable while contemplating what she had said to him.
Did she really mean it? I’d be over the moon. But what if she was teasing me? Just playing my game? Those three things kept running over and over again in his mind.
He hitched the horse on the wood, closing the stable door. Scully was waiting for him just like always. The elderly gentleman thanked them and told them to enjoy the rest of their holiday. Mulder placed his hand at the small of her back and lead her towards the ice cream shop.
They arrived soon and stepped inside. It was a small but beautiful place, with light wood everywhere, something straight out of a magazine beautiful. The sun was setting, bouncing orange beams around the shop's white walls leaving a shimmering glow.
“What ice cream are you picking, Scully?”
“I’m having a double cone: one side filled with chocolate, and the other, rum and raisins.”
“Sound’s yummy.”
She ordered her ice cream and turned around to him.
“What flavour are you having?”
“I was thinking of chocolate orange.”
“Now that sounds nice, Mulder, I can’t wait to try it.”
She had confused him again, but he caught the look in her eyes. It was a wicked look full of mischief.
Their ice creams were soon devoured and Scully had got closer to him. He hadn’t realised he had some ice cream on his chin and kept wondering why Scully was staring at him. She leant in close and whispered.
“I meant what I said earlier.”
She kissed his cheek and then his nose, they were so feather-like, her lips barely touched his skin. His heart was hammering in his chest and again he was left gasping for air. He looked into her eyes, knowing if he looked he would know if she was teasing. He looked into the warm blue and was lost there. But he saw everything he had ever wanted, the whole truth. She loved him and meant it. Her lips caught him by surprise as she pressed them against his. Her tongue was seeking entrance and he opened up gladly. Their lips were gliding against each other, their tongues exploring every crevice in each other’s mouth. His eyes had shut, enjoying the feeling of their mouths touching. She let go and he sighed missing her already.
“Chocolate orange does taste nice,” she said giggling like a schoolgirl.
“And chocolate and rum and raisin taste even better.”
They left the restaurant hand in hand, both content with the moment neither wanting to push. Just enjoying the simple pleasure of each other.

Lemon Vampire-Repellent
A fluffy family-feelsy little Leverage fic written for AslansCompass as part of  @leverage-secret-santa-exchange 2019!
Summary: Parker catches the cold from hell and fluff and caregiving ensue! I hope you like it!
Rated G. Parker/Hardison, Parker/Hardison/Eliot family feels, Gen.
“The key ingredient,” Eliot explains, “is exactly one fourth a cup of lemon juice.”
Continue to Read on AO3 or under the cut!
Hardison nods along, only half listening, watching with wide eyes at the seemingly random pile of foods and herbs that Eliot has been adding to the bubbling pot on the stove for the last hour.
He snaps out of it when he notices Eliot is directing Bitch Face # 4 at him.
“Wait, what?” he asks, long passed being scared of Eliot’s face.
Eliot just sighs and repeats the question.
“Where are your lemons?”
“Umm,” Hardison says, stalling as he pretends to look around the kitchen, knowing full well that he and Parker do not possess any lemons.
“We might have one of those plastic bottles in the fridge,” he finally says, shrugging and giving Eliot his most innocent expression.
“Who doesn’t have lemons?” Eliot asks, shaking the wooden spoon he’d been stirring with at Hardison in exasperation.
“Who just has lemons hanging around?!” Hardison counters, smirking.
Eliot stops himself before he can be baited into yet another dumb argument with Hardison, and takes a deep breath.
“Dammit, Hardison! Just go to the store and get me a bag of organic lemons,” he says, grudgingly adding on a ‘please’ at Hardison’s raised eyebrow.
“I’m going, I’m going,” Hardison says, pausing for one more glance at Eliot’s suspiciously cauldron looking pot. “Before you turn me into a frog or something.”
Eliot just waves the spoon at him again before turning back to stirring the pot as Hardison leaves.
“This’ll fix you up,” Eliot says a few hours later, concoction perfected after Hardison had finally come back with the lemons.
“I’m fine,” Parker says, weakly.
She’s propped up against her and Hardison’s bed, surrounded by pillows and practically buried in blankets.
“You are not,” Eliot says, calm but stern. “Drink.”
“It smells like a lemon vampire repellent,” Parker complains, wrinkling her nose as he brings the mug closer to her.
“That would be the garlic,” Eliot says wryly.
“Come on, babe,” Hardison says from where he’s leaning against door frame, looking on in concern. “You won’t let us take you to a doctor, at least let Eliot feed you his witches brew.”
“Not witches brew,” Eliot corrects mildly, completely unsurprised when they both ignore it.
“It’s just a cold,” Parker says, stubbornly.
“You’re feverish AND shivering,” Hardison fires back.
“A bad cold, then,” Parker says, chin set stubbornly even as her head thumps back against the padded headboard in exhaustion.
“C’mon,” Eliot tries again. “It’s easier if you just drink it all at once. But not too fast, you don’t want to throw it all up and have to start over.”
“Oh god, I’m not doing this twice,” Parker says, finally pulling her arms out from her blanket pile to reach for the mug.
“This better work,” she threatens, glaring at Eliot and Hardison both for good measure.
“It’ll help,” Eliot promises, smothering a grin as Parker’s face scrunches up in distaste as she sips the drink.
“There we go,” he says once Parker has drained the mug and mostly stopped glaring at him.
“Thanks, El,” Hardison says as Eliot passes him and heads back towards the kitchen to clean up.
“’course,” Eliot says, clapping Hardison on the shoulder as he goes.
“That was gross,” Parker mumbles from the bed, already falling asleep again.
“I know,” Hardison soothes, coming over to settle her down horizontally again and tuck her back into her blanket cocoon.
“Don’t,” Parker says sharply, flinching away from Hardison.
“What is it?” he asks, surprised and no small amount of worried.
“Just don’t want you to get sick too,” Parker whispers, burrowing into her pile of pillows.
Hardison just laughs gently.
“I’ll take my chances,” he says, and pushes Parker’s messy hair out of her eyes, rubbing her scalp in a light massages as he does.
“Yesssss,” Parker sighs, leaning into the touch like a cat.
“Get some sleep,” Hardison says. “If you feel better later, we’ll have ice cream.”
Parker smiles but is asleep again before she can actually reply.
“I hope that stuff really does help,” Hardison says to Eliot when he joins him in the kitchen again.
“It should,” Eliot says, “but I’m leaving all the ingredients in your fridge in case I have to come back and make more.”
“Thanks,” Hardison says again, “I’ll keep an eye on her, make sure it doesn’t get worse.”
“If it does,” Eliot starts, but Hardison cuts him off before he can finish the thought.
“I’ll carry her to the car and bring her to hospital myself,” he promises, laughing internally at the thought of buckling the Parker Blanket Cocoon into her seatbelt.
“Damn right,” Eliot replies.
“Go home, man,” Hardison says, kindly. “I’ll call if I need backup.”
Eliot puts his hand out for their complicated handshake and grins.
“I’ll be back tomorrow,” he says, and heads out, leaving Hardison alone in a kitchen that is definitely cleaner and shinier than it has any right to be after only a few minutes with Eliot.
“Freaking cleaning ninja,” Hardison whispers to himself, looking around in awe.
“Haaardison,” Parker calls out the next morning, frowning at the empty bed around her.
It takes him a minute to untangle from his blankets on the couch, but Hardison appears in the doorway, still half asleep.
“You ok?” he asks, voice rough and eyes mostly closed.
Parker reaches her arms out towards him and gives him her best puppy eyes.
“Carry me to the shower?” she asks, in a way that is more demand than anything else.
Hardison is moving before his words catch up to his brain, and it’s not until he’s scooped Parker up that he pauses to consider the request.
“You hate asking people for help,” he says, snickering softly when Parker shoots him a dirty look for calling her out.
“You’re not people,” she says, clinging to Hardison like a sloth. If the sloth was tall and blonde and suffering from the dumbest head cold in the world.
“Aw,” Hardison says, teasingly, but also actually kind of touched. “You’re not people either.”
“People are the worst,” Parker agrees, clinging a little tighter as Hardison heads towards the bathroom.
“Will you even be able to stand in the shower?” Hardison asks, shifting Parker’s dead weight in his arms.
“Hmm,” Parker says, apparently not having considered the concept of gravity versus muscle weakness.
“Carry me to the bathtub!” she amends, kicking her feet weakly in a ‘giddy-up’ motion.
“Woman, I swear to god, watch those feet!” Hardison scolds even as he’s laughing.
When they finally make it to the bathroom, Hardison sets Parker down on the closed toilet seat so that he can fill the tub up with the fancy peppermint bubbles she’d stolen from a snooty department store they’d passed through a few months ago.
Once it’s hot and bubbly, he helps her out of layers of cozy clothes and into the tub, arranging her hair over the edge of the tub as she settles against the fancy bath pillow that Hardison had swiped from that same snooty store for his own cozy bubble-baths.
“Just yell if you need me,” he says, ready to leave Parker to it.
“Don’t go,” Parker says, reaching out one arm blindly to try and grab him.
“I don’t think you’re well enough for that kind of bath,” Hardison retorts, but takes the offered hand in his own anyway.
“Just sit and talk to me?” Parker asks, uncharacteristically plaintive in her request.
She continues before Hardison can even reply.
“I haven’t heard anything geeky in days,” she laments. “Tell me what the geeks are angry at this week, Hardison. What’s new with the birds who play that game? What’s Doctor Who up to?”
Hardison laughs in delight, and grabs some towels to pad his seat on the tile floor so she can sit and lean against the tub, letting Parker take her hand back and settle fully into the water.
“The birds are still playing,” he says, “and the Doctor is on hiatus until New Year’s Day.”
“She travels in time,” Parker argues, “it might already be next year wherever she is.”
“Take it up with the BBC,” Hardison says, turning his head and shifting so that he can watch Parker’s face. Her eyes are closed, face flushed from the steam, and there’s a playful smile resting easy on her mouth.
God, he loves her.
“Oh!” he says suddenly, startling Parker enough that she cracks one eye open in mild alarm.
“What?” she asks.
“I have two words for you,” Hardison says, pausing dramatically for effect before continuing.
“Baby. Yoda.”
Parker opens both eyes at that, face shining with excitement.
“I need him,” she says, resolutely.
“You haven’t even seen him yet,” Hardison laughs.
“Irrelevant,” Parker says, settling back again and smiling to herself.
“I’m gonna steal him,” she says.
And Hardison knows that if anyone could actually manage to steal a fictional alien from the clutches of Marvel, it would be Parker.
“Of course you will,” he agrees.
They talk about nothing until the water goes cold, and then fill it back up with hot water and start all over again.
“I live!” Parker cries out triumphantly a few days later, as she and Hardison meet the others at Nate and Sophie’s.
“Glad to hear it,” Nate says, looking up briefly from his coffee and honest to god Sunday newspaper before getting back to the crossword he’d been working on.
“Such an old man,” Sophie teases him gently before focusing on Parker.
“Good to see you up and about again,” she says. “Nate’s found us a new job, and we didn’t want you to miss all the fun.”
“Ooh, crime!” Parker says in delight. “I’ve missed crime!”
Hardison and Eliot share an eye-roll over her head, but can’t deny how good it is to have Parker back to her normal self.
“Hell yeah, Team Crime,” Hardison agrees, squeezing Parker’s waist before settling on the couch next to Sophie.
Parker’s already hovering around Nate’s tablet, trying to get all the information before he can even begin his presentation.
“A passcode, Nate, really?” she asks.
Nate slowly lifts the newspaper to hide his laughing face and says nothing.
Parker just huffs and goes about figuring out the latest code with gusto. It really is good to be back.

Steve Rogers x Witch!Reader - Love is a Curse - Inspired by Practical Magic - Chapter 2 - New Home, Old Curses
(YN) : your name (LN) : last name (HC) : hair colour (EC) : eye colour  (FD) : Favourite Drink (BN): Band Name
Chapter 1 - https://protectthelesbians.tumblr.com/post/185063370563/steve-rogers-x-witchreader-love-is-a-curse
Your POV
“I’m a witch.” you fumbled out and awaited the look of disgust, flinching. You were used to the hatred of kids your age, the rocks they’d throw at you if you even tried to come over to play with them. Those childhood memories had scarred you. They’d marred you and made you afraid to trust again. But you didn’t see the harshness, or the hatred you’d seen in other eyes in your teammate’s eyes, only a faint curiosity which you could see in Steve’s eyes. Shyly, Steve spoke up “What does that mean exactly?” he seemed as if he was treading lightly, wanting to appear not judgmental.
That was nice for a change.
Smiling, you fiddled with your hands for a moment “Well. A witch is an umbrella term really, not one witch is the same. We have our strengths and weaknesses like potion work, divination.” you couldn’t stay still as you told them of your practice, your craft. Tony perked up at this “Wow we have a real-life Harry Potter on our team.” he teased, you rolled your eyes “We don’t have magic wands but hey, I do like the books and movies.” you admitted as Fury encouraged you to return to your original train of thought, which you did.
“I grew up learning my craft and trying to perfect my skills, but in the world of magic and witchcraft, you’ve never learnt everything. Not really.” you noted and smiled “I’m a healer mostly, I hope to do no harm in my craft mostly. I do divination and some level of potion work.” You were somehow now a little more confident, talking about your craft outside of a world filled with judgement meant that your insecurity shriveled up, you didn’t have to fear them. Nat stepped over “Can you fight?” She spoke bluntly and almost cold, you could tell she didn’t trust you yet and that made you nervous “No, in my craft I am told to not cause unnecessary harm.” You looked up at the tall red-head, she looked at you with some intrigue before stepping back “I guess I’ll be teaching you a couple of things” she noted. Nodding, you stood back from Nat and was bombarded with questions from Tony about how it worked, the whole magic thing. You kept things vague, a witch’s craft is usually a very personal one, one fraught with secrecy and personal exploration.
“Well. Though the craft is very personal, I can show you some of the things I can do.” You cracked your knuckles, your fingers tingling in preparation. Walking towards the kitchen counter, you focused and concentrated on what action you wished to put out into the physical realm. Your hand grasped a piece of paper on the counter, you gave yourself a paper cut. The group looked confused by this, wondering why you purposely give yourself a paper cut. You let the cut bleed down your finger a little, for the dramatics, before you leant in and kissed the wound. The blood began to roll back up your finger, returning back to the wound it originated from, it began to seal up gently and your finger was free of any scar from the paper-cut. As if it never happened.
Tony was the first to speak out “Well that definitely is gonna come in handy.” He chuckled, the others simply nodded, a bit surprised that you had ‘magical kisses’ but they couldn’t knock it. You smiled “that’s only one thing I can do, I’m a jack of all trades I suppose.” You felt strangely comfortable with your team, well sure Natasha wasn’t exactly best buddies with you but mostly everyone had been accepting and welcoming to your arrival. Especially Steve, who for some reason made your heart beat a mile a minute, you only just met the man and suddenly you’re fawning over him.
Pushing Steve from your mind, you turned to see your things arriving from your apartment, Fury wanted you to stay here at the Avengers Compound, so you could settle in with the team. Honestly, you were glad to be freed of your apartment which was mouldy and by the look of the ceiling, you constantly feared that Mrs Krook from upstairs would eventually come falling through with her dogs and knitting in tow, maybe even her recliner. So, you were relieved to be freed of that apartment, there weren’t many affordable options in the city so were glad that you’d been given the option which you now gladly took. Steve walked over to you “That must be your belongings.” he noted aloud, you nodded “Yep. I better get this stuff up to the new room.” Your voice was a little squeaky, your body seemed to shrivel up into embarrassment as soon as Steve talked with you. Quickly enough, off you went, collecting a few of your things and leaving Steve just standing there puzzled and wondering if he did something wrong. Steve seemed to shake of the kicked puppy look and walked over to help you “Here. Let me take the boxes.” He took the heavy boxes with ease, you tinged pink “Thanks. I wouldn’t have made it two seconds with that box, its full of my books.”
Steve nodded “Avid reader?” he asked as he walked with you through the halls of the compound, the halls were a lot more quiet than the lounge which was usually booming with voices and clattering from the lab which Tony commonly inhabited. Smiling Shyly, you nodded “Always have been. My aunts made me into a bookworm. Their house is 50 percent books with the rest full of plants and cats.” You joked, though the nerves in your stomach from being near him still lingering. He laughed “So the whole cat thing is true?” he asked innocently, you nodded “Well they’re great companions, especially when it comes to the craft.” Steve couldn’t help but smile at that, you smiled back and kept walking your way down towards your new room.
The door to your new room was wide open, somewhat empty as the hired workers for Tony moved some essential furniture into the empty room such as a bed, chest of drawers and a desk. You were somewhat planning the things you wanted to do with the room, some of your tools in your craft such as your herb pots would help this place seem homey right away. Steve put some boxes down “Shall I leave you to settle in, Ma’am?” He still acted so polite around you, compared to the others who simply called you by your name. You turned to look at him “Yeah, I’ll start unpacking” but as Steve started to walk out you spluttered “Oh! Steve! Uhm… please call me (YN).” Steve was looking at you, his cheeks tinged red, he was stuck in one spot for a moment but got moving when some of the workers who worked under Tony helped carry your things past the threshold of your room. You thanked them before getting to work, you used your phone to listen to your favourite songs, you were more productive when you listened to (B/N). With the music blaring, you unpacked your books onto the bookshelf, you’d set up your altar last, the area where you’d keep all your tools for your craft. The room began to seem more like yours as soon as your belongings inhabited the space, your books on the shelf, the photos on the table of you and your aunts.
When most of the boxes of books and knick-knacks had been unpacked, you moved onto your clothes which you had packed into a suitcase, picking up the folded shirts and bottoms, you gently placed them into the chest of drawers. The more fancy attire was hung up in the wardrobe such as your dresses and clothes which you kept for extremely special occasions, occasions connected with your magic and family.
Witchy holiday clothes, that was the layman's term of what the clothes represented and were used for. As the music continued to play, you finished unpacking your clothes which were only a little crinkled from transport which you didn’t greatly mind to be fair. You only had 2 more boxes to unpack, these were the important boxes. These were all the equipment you used in your altar, all the tools of your trade. They needed to be carefully unpacked and placed upon an area of your choice, you decided on the small table by the window. It was small but it was enough for what you needed it to do. You put your potted plants on the window-ledge before placing your crystals and tarot cards on the table, you positioned things so it was practical but still pretty in its own right. The room looked so different than it did before, the small box-like room now looked or resembled something fantastical, with tapestries strewn across the blank, white walls and with your plants bringing some life to the lifeless room you’d been given. You were proud of how you’d decorated, the room no longer felt daunting and not a place you could call your own. But now, the room felt like yours. And you were happy about that.
With a moments silence, you looked around your new room but was rudely interrupted by your growling stomach, you were starving. Walking back through the halls, eventually you reached the kitchen which was empty surprisingly. You took advantage of this and started to make yourself something small, not wanting to waste a lot of food on one meal. “Where is everybody?” You muttered to yourself, since the lounge seemed abandoned, suddenly you heard a loud voice above you “Everyone apart from Miss Romanoff and Mr Barton are still on the compound, Miss (LN).” You squeaked and looked up and tried to find where the voice came from “Who are you?” you were slightly on edge till the voice spoke again “I am FRIDAY, I’m an AI designed by Tony Stark.” You nodded and looked around, as if still looking for the voice “Okay…” FRIDAY spoke up “Is that all, Miss (LN)?” FRIDAY asked, you cleared your throat “Uhm yes and please call me (YN)” You returned to the hob to make some scrambled eggs, a simple dish but filling enough as a dinner. You dropped 2 slices of bread  into the toaster, as you put the eggs away, you used some of your powers to move the spatula, tending to the still cooking scrambled egg.
Multitasking at its best.
Reaching into the cupboards, you pulled out a small porcelain plate as the bread popped out of the toaster, toasted to your liking. With the toast toasted, you added some butter before placing the cooked scrambled egg on-top, drizzling some of your favourite sauce on top for some flavour. You realised you’d need a drink of sorts for your dinner, you searched the cupboards and searched for a glass, and there they were… on the highest shelf. Even for a tall person, reaching for the glasses would be a feat, you climbed atop the kitchen counter to try and retrieve a glass. With your fingers grasping at the rim of the glass, your arm extended as far as it could go,  you’d just reached it when a voice called out “You need some help there?” You squeaked and lost your hold on the glass, the glass toppled over and fell from the shelf, you heard a quick shuffle across the room, obviously the person who’d startled you was trying to help. You reached your hands out and focused, though your mind was scattered at this moment in time. The glass froze mid-air, your powers had caught it mid-fall. With this realisation, you let out a big sigh of relief, reaching out and put the glass down on the counter, your mind now focused on who had startled you. You turned to see Steve standing there, his expression had some guilt laced in it, knowing that he’d been the one to cause this near-catastrophe. Steve rubbed the back of his neck “Hey there…” there was a sense of awkwardness, you couldn’t help but smile shyly  “Hey. I should’ve been more careful honestly, I’m easily spooked.” looked up at the blue-eyed blonde with a joking look, though your heart was pounding, your chest tight. Steve let out a smile “Yeah. We never use those glasses, we just use the ones that are washed and then reuse them.” Hinting to why the glasses were atop the highest shelf “Well why are they on that shelf to begin with?” Steve smiled at your question “That’s a long story.” You smiled and picked up your dinner “Well as soon as I get myself a drink, you can tell me the story as I have my dinner.” Your cheeks tinted pink as you picked up your glass and walked to the fridge, you reached for (Favourite Drink) and poured yourself some into the glass.
With one hand holding your dinner and cutlery and one hand holding your drink, Steve walked with you to the table to sit down, you put your dinner and drink on the table. Sitting down with Steve, you settled and started to eat your dinner as he started the story you wanted to know about. As the two of you sat together, you both laughed over the story and you nearly choked on your dinner a few times due to how hard you were laughing. This small moment with Steve stirred up unknown emotions within you, on one hand you didn’t know this man one bit. But on the other hand, you felt something stirring, it felt uncontrollable, it felt like something pulled you to the avenger, it felt natural but yet constructed. It felt like fate, uncontrollable and often unable to escape from. Steve and yourself chatted, long after you’d finished your dinner and your drink, though the butterflies didn’t cease as you heard him laugh and chuckle. Without controlling it, you felt a yawn escape your lips, it had been a long day after all.
“You’ve had a long day, better let you get to bed.” Steve looked at you from across the table, you stretched “But I’ve still to clean up the kitchen!” You rose to your feet to clean the kitchen, not wanting to leave it a mess, though you were practically dragging yourself around the kitchen. You felt an arm on your shoulder “Let me do that, you’re tired and you’ve entertained me with your presence far longer than you should’ve.” Pointing to the clock, it was midnight now. You tried to retort but when you looked into his eyes, you felt your response just disappear, mind blank.
‘What is this man doing to you? One minute you’re fine and the next moment you’re a bumbling mess!’ You thought to yourself as your mind was no longer blank “Uhm.. Okay.” You gave in, but you swore to yourself that next time you’d not give in, though your heart and gut told you otherwise. Steve led you to your room, he walked you up to the door and smiled “Goodnight (YN).”
It was the first time he’d used your name, you liked it.
You nodded tiredly “Goodnight Steve.” You sneaked into your room and when the door closed, you put your hand on your chest, the feeling of your heart pounding against your chest could easily be felt through your fingertips. It felt like you could feel the blood pumping to your ever-pounding heart.
Deep down you wondered if Steve’s heart was feeling the same way, but unbeknownst to you Steve stood in the kitchen, his own hand upon his heart, he felt the heavy pounding of his heart too. Almost as if the two of your were in some way…
Connected.

Down in the Underground
Down in the Underground
He could hardly wait to see her face when she saw their new home. It had taken a few weeks of work, from mapping out the area, to finding a place that would allow adequate light from above to trail in.
But it was done.
Their ceremony had been a fast affair, all too eager to finally seal the deal as it were.
Andrea’s hand was held securely in his as he lead her down. Once they had gotten closer he had her close her eyes.
“You’re not peeking, right?”
“Robbie! Come now, you trust me right?”
Robert chuckled, squeezing her hand.
“I trust you. I don’t trust Sebastian.”
“WELL, NOW I'M WOUNDED!” His voice echoed from the shadows. Robert and Andrea laughed.
Robert fell quiet, leading her along until he arrived at their destination.
“Okay… Now!”
Andrea opened her eyes, a surprised look coming to them. It was a base like nothing she had ever seen before.
In the center was a house that resembled the one she had above ground. She could see light flowers curling like vines around it, illuminating it.
She looked upward, seeing it was also nestled in an area where natural light flowed in.
“Robbie…”
“That’s not all.” Robert grinned, leading her around to the back of the house. “Ta-da!”
There was a massive herb and flower garden in the back, forming a circle around a moon dial that looked as if it was carved out of moonlight with how it shone.
Large crystal geodes surrounded it as well, giving off their own faint glow.
“A proper moon dial for your moon scrying… A-And a proper circle garden to cast in. D-Do you like it?” Robert asked, a nervous look coming to his eyes. Andrea had her back to him, taking everything in.
Andrea turned to him, an overjoyed look in her eyes. She squealed, tackling him, hugging him tightly. Robert was surprised before he let out a laugh.
“I take it that’s a yes?” He asked as she peppered his head with kisses.
“THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!!!!” She laughed, nuzzling him.
Robert held his wife close, resting his head against hers.
“I’m so glad you like it my love. I just want you happy.”
“And I am. So very happy.”
“YA DID GOOD BROTHER IN LAW!” Sebastian screeched.
“And something for you.” Robert had a mischievous look as he reached over, uncovering a small stone den in the cave floor.
Sebastian scuttled over, looking at it.
“WOW. I GET ONE HOLE IN THE GROUND. You’re SOOO generous.”
“I mean I could just plant things-”
“IT’S MA HOLE.” Sebastian scurried in.
“I mean, now you can keep around when I have candles and stuff going without getting hurt by the lights.” Andrea pointed out with a giggle. Sebastian poked his nose out of the hole.
“It’sssss cozy.”
I think we’re gonna be just fine.
oooooo
“Alright, let’s see… That should do it.” Andrea sighed happily as she stirred the contents of the crockpot. “Robert’ll be starving when he gets back.”
“Ya mean more than usual?” Sebastian asked, swinging down from one of the rafters. Andrea poked his nose.
“Maybe. We’ll see. Mandrake soup’ll warm him up good though.”
“Ya, it better. After all the trouble that thing was!”
“MERP, MERP, MERP, MERP, MERP, MERP!”
“Guuuuh shut up, shut up!!!”
The siblings shuddered as Andrea stirred the pot a big more vigorously as if to ensure the strange plant creature was truly dead.
Let’s see… This should be fine to go for awhile.
She looked out the kitchen window into her garden, taking a second look when she noted some of the herbs had been disturbed.
… That’s not normal.
“Sebastian?”
He swung down next to the window, peering out.
“I ssseee disturbed stuff.”
“And Robert’s not the type to go through my garden without explicitly asking me if he can snip down one of the plants.”
“... I scream?”
“No scream. We sneak.”
Sebastian dropped from his perch, hissing as he scurried after his sister.
“You never let me have any fuuun!”
“Brother, contrary to what you believe, you are not a good alarm clock.”
They quietly crept out, Andrea with a spear in hand, Sebastian darting through the shadows. Andrea looked around, taking note of some tracks in the dirt.
They look… insectoid...  Great, we got big  bugs. As usual.
Nothing looked as disturbed as she thought. A few herbs snipped down but that was about it.
Strange.
Her eyes narrowed as she made her way for her moon dial, noting the water level had gone down as well.
Whatever was here, was sneaky.  Not a spider. Spiders are too dumb for this and they’re purely carnivorous.
Andrea kept scanning the area, keeping as quiet as possible, listening for any off sounds… That’s when she heard it. It was the sound of scuttling footsteps. They sounded like the footsteps of a spider but… yet there was a slight difference. A light scratching of claws.
She let her ears guide her to the source, seeing a shape walking around in the dark, their white eyes having a slight glow to them. Now she was certain it wasn’t a spider since there were only two eyes and not the eight eyes spiders were known for, not to mention these eyes were more human shaped and were set higher on whatever the creature was in the darkness.
She narrowed her eyes, gripping her spear tightly, taking a defensive stance.
“Sebastian, be a dear and bring ‘em into the light.”
Sebastian disappeared from her view before slinking into the shadows following the creature.
“SCREEEE!!!!”
The creature gave a scream of their own, scuttling faster, trying to get away as Sebastian gave chase. He had to dodge a few hits from their own weapon before the creature came into the dim light of the light flowers.
Andrea’s eyes widened at the sight of the creature. It was a human bug hybrid like creature. The top half was humanoid while the bottom half resembled that of a scorpion. They were red and tan in color and wore a pale green cloak along with a gold headpiece and were wielding a spear that was made of an odd stone.
“What the…?” She shook it off. “Who are you!? What are you doing in my camp?”
The creature stared back her, tilting their head. They spoke but Andrea couldn’t understand them. The dialect wasn’t any language she had heard before. Though from the tone of the creature’s voice they sounded a little scared.
“Easy, easy…” She hesitated before going a bit closer. “Can you understand me?”
The creature stared on, seeming to try and process what Andrea was saying and gave her a confused expression in response.
Andrea hummed in thought before snapping her fingers as she recalled a spell she had read once.
I remember Melinda used it a lot when traversing the human world. Should work here too.
She focused as she conjured up a string of energy as it came around them both, chanting in an old language. When it was done the string faded away.
“Can you understand me now?”
The creature blinked before nodding.
“Y-Yes-” They brought a hand to their throat. “What… is this tongue I am speaking?”
“English. It’s the tongue my people speak as well as my husband. What was yours?” Andrea asked with a head tilt of her own.
“T-Thulecitian.”
“Hm… I’ve not heard of that one.”
“I have never heard of English before either.” The creature came closer. “What are you exactly?”
“I was going to ask you the same thing. I’m a Shadow Being.”
“Shadow Being… So strange.” The creature looked closer. “Why are your ears so far out?”
Andrea flicked her ears a little.
“They’re just like that. May I ask what you are too?”
“I am a Thulecitian.” The creature answered. “The dwellers of the underground.”
“Fascinating. So, you’re the little sneak who’s been taking from my garden.”
“I needed water… and those herbs tasted yummy.”
Andrea took note of how they sounded, her gaze softening.
Must be just a kid… not worth being mad over, Besides, this is definitely interesting.
“I-I promise I won’t steal again. I-I’ll make it up to you.” The Thulecitian bowed. “O-On my apprentice’s honor.”
“Hey, it’s okay.” Andrea held up a hand. “No need to bow. Just ask if you need something. I don’t mind sharing now that I know you weren’t causing trouble. What’s your name, young one?”
“L-Laika…”
“Well, Laika, my name’s Andrea… and sorry for scaring you earlier.”
“That creepy thing was yours?”
“I AM MY OWN TERRORBEAK THANK YOU VERY MUCH!”
Laika shrieked, backing away and pointing their spear at Sebastian.
“S-Stay back fiend!”
Sebastian gave an unimpressed look.
“Oh, that’s real polite. Reeeaaal nice. Hmph!”
“Easy now.” Andrea grabbed her spear, making her point it away. “That’s my brother.”
Laika’s jaw dropped.
“THAT is related to YOU?”
“It’s a looong story.”
“I USED TO BE PRETTY.”
Laika blinked.
“You mean… You used to be a Shadow Being?”
“YEH. BUT I ANGERED A KING AND HE CURSED ME!”
“Oh…” Laika frowned. “I see… So even beings like you are susceptible to such a mutation.”
“King Maxwell doesn’t like us very much. Namely my brother here. He used to work for him along with his former archivist.” Andrea explained. “The details aren’t ours to tell but… it wasn’t pretty.”
“I let my anger get a hold of me.” Sebastian bowed a little. “Sorry kid!”
“I-It’s okay…” Laika looked to Andrea. “I w-will make things up though. I promise.”
“Hm… Well, if you do wanna help, know where I can get some cave bananas? Robbie found some a few days ago but someone…” She looked to Sebastian. “Ate them all.”
“Oh, I can find them! And hunt some splumonkeys!”
“I’ll pay you in a good meal of Mandrake Soup. Deal?”
“Deal!”
Laika scurried off without another word. Sebastian looked to Andrea.
“THISSS ISSS GONNA BE INTRESSSSSTING TO EXPLAIN TO ROBERT.”
“Indeed, but honestly I think he’ll be happy to know we have nice neighbors.”
oooooo
“Andrea! I’m home!” Robert called as he came in from his long trip of scavenging for materials around the caves.
“Welcome home love!” Andrea grinned hurrying over to help him unpack. “Find anything interesting?”
“You just want first dibs on the crystals.”
“Maybe~” She gave a sneaky look before he pulled her into an embrace. “Eeep!”
“C’mere you!” He chuckled, kissing her head. “Missed you. What’ve you been up to?”
“Weeell…” She grinned sheepishly. “I met the neighbors.”
“... Eh?”
Andrea nodded.
“A being called a Thulecitian. Young one too. She was scrounging around the garden. Took a minute to understand her but she offered to make up for the stealing.”
“Huh… Intriguing. What did they look like?”
Andrea conjured up shadow flames that took the shape of Laika as Robert’s eyes grew wide.
“Fascinating. Do you know if she’ll be back?”
“I sent them on a little errand so, soon probably. She got happy at the idea of hunting splumonkeys.”
Robert grimaced.
“I don’t blame her.”
“So, we shall see. For now, how does mandrake soup sound?”
Robert’s stomach growled.
“Sounds wonderful.”
“Right this way then.”
Andrea lead Robert out back, quickly getting him a serving before getting her own and sitting down with him. They ate in silence, enjoying the food. They soon heard the scuttling of footsteps.
“Andrea! I’m back!”
Andrea smiled as she saw Laika approach, a sack slung over her back.
Laika grinned back before curiosity came to her face at the sight of Robert.
“Who is this?” she asked, pointing her spear at Robert.
Robert yelped, grabbing for his wrench.
“This is my husband!” Andrea quickly got up. “Robert, this is Laika. Laika this is Robert.”
“Your ears…” Laika tilted her head. “... They’re so tiny.”
Robert rubbed one of his ears unconsciously.
“Honestly, they’re considered big for some humans.”
Laika blinked.
“Hoo… mon?”
“Yes. That’s what I am, a human being.”
“Hoomon being… I thought there were just Shadow Beings up there.”
Robert smiled, giving a sheepish look.
“I’m not exactly local.”
Laika’s eyes grew wide.
“Are… you from another world?”
Robert grinned, giving a bow as he stood.
“Robert Wagstaff of Earth.”
“Wow!” Laika was in awe of the man. “I… I have so many questions. Oh, wait till I tell my chief. He’ll be amazed to know about other beings living down here!”
There’s more?
Robert smiled gently.
“Actually… if you’d be willing, I’d love to see where you're from. It’s my current task to map out these caves and make note of what lives down here. I’d love to know more if I may?”
“I’ll talk to my chief but I don’t think he’d mind.”
“Then we have ourselves a deal.” Robert held out a hand.
Laika nodded, giving his hand a shake.
“Indeed we do, Robert Wagstaff of Earth.”
He smiled.
“Please, just Robert, Ms. Laika.”
“Hee okay!”
“And as promised, I got food waiting for you Laika. If your still interested.”
Laika’s stomach growled as she grinned sheepishly, showing her pointed teeth.
“Starving.”
“Ah, rule number one broken!” Robert laughed.
“Rule one?” She asked with a head tilt.
“Don’t starve!”

The Truth About Secrets Part 1
Sunshine Take A Chance You're A What?
All last night Stiles and I had stayed up researching anything we could find about herbs and something that could counteract whatever was wrong with Isaac but we came up with zero. Zilch. Nada. At about three in the morning, Stiles was passed out on my bed with papers scattered all around him. I, on the other hand, continued to search for pretty much anything that could point me in the right direction but there was so much that I didn't know, so many variables it was frustrating. I glanced at the clock a few hours later and it was six o'clock in the morning, I rubbed my tired eyes and yawned. I wanted to go to sleep but I needed to at least have some answers. I've always been this way, my brain wont rest until it's solved the problem even when my body just wanted to rest. I got up from the table in my room that housed my laptop and walked downstairs to the kitchen. Once in the kitchen I decided to make a pot of tea, something to calm my soul. I stood by the counter, watching the water boil as I zoned out. I needed to call my mom and ask her about the herbs and why we do what we do but it was still too early. Damn it , why couldn't I figure this out. All I could find is that when a werewolf's eyes are black, it's usually because of a Lunar Eclipse which doesn't fit because there wasn't one last night. I sighed, feeling a little defeated, tired and a little mind blown. Stiles couldn't believe that I had taken Scott being a werewolf so well and I couldn't explain to him that somewhere deep down I knew there was something supernatural about Scott. It was still a strange night, I never imagined I would be helping a werewolf let alone being friends with said werewolf's best friend. I definitely never thought that it would be Scott and Stiles who'd become the protectors of Beacon Hills. I rubbed my eyes again, so tired, what am I gonna do? The water was finally ready so I turned off the stove and poured the hot water into a black mug. I added all the necessities that went with tea, then took a well deserved sip. The tea made all the tension exit my body and I sighed with relief. After I finished the tea I placed my cup in the sink and went back to my room. As I entered my room, I saw Stiles sitting up checking his phone as well as responding to texts from Scott no doubt. It was still really early and all I wanted to do was lie in bed. Stiles quickly looked up at me and returned his gaze to his phone. "Morning Sunshine," he mumbled lazily, "Scott said that Isaac still hasn't woken up yet, Lydia is going to head to the clinic in a bit to see if she can sense anything. Scott asked if we found anything on our end and I told him that we haven't come up with anything." Stiles looked up from his phone and concern flashed in his eyes. "You haven't gone to sleep have you?" He asked looking slightly upset. I looked down and shook my head, "Why haven't you, Y/N?" He pressed. "I was researching and I didn't look at the time," I mumbled tiredly, it wasn't a complete lie, I did lose track of time but I also don't think I could trust myself around Stiles. When Stiles said my name it sent warmth throughout my whole being, lighting me up. I didn't like it, not one bit. "You need to rest Y/N. We can't resolve anything if you pass out on me, so you need to get your butt in this bed before I drag you in here. I'll stay right here and wake you up in a few hours so you can call your mom," he said kindly but I knew he would drag me to bed if I didn't go of my own volition. If I was being honest a part of me wanted to challenge him and see if he could drag me with him. I decided against it and put one foot in front of the other, making my way to my bed. He grinned smugly, that I was listening to him. That just made me want to roll my eyes but he was right, I was so tired. I got under the covers sighing happily as my body slowly relaxed. Stiles pulled me into him so my head was laying on his chest and his arm was wrapped around me I gazed up at him and looked at him, I mean really looked at him, he had massive bed hair with pieces of hair going in every direction. His chocolate brown eyes were clear yet there was a hint of darkness and sadness, like a smudge of dirt on a white rug. His lips were thin and lightly pink, what would it be like to kiss those lips? I closed my eyes tightly trying to mentally shake the thought from my mind, we're only friends, I mean barely friends, there is no way I could ever jeopardize the only friend I have by thinking this way, didn't he like Lydia? I slowly opened my eyes to see this pale faced boy looking at me like I was the most interesting thing he's ever beheld. He held this expression that I've seen him wear once before but I still don't know what it meant. Stiles confused me to no end, he made me feel things that I didn't want or expect to feel. I furrowed my eyebrows feeling conflicted, I needed to get a hold of my feelings and push down whatever this was or at least hide it a lot better. Stiles looked at me pensively then switched his attention back to his phone using his free hand. "Go to sleep Sunshine," was all he had to say for my heavy eye lids to close with his fast heartbeat lulling me to sleep. A few hours later Stiles's phone rang waking me up from the deep sleep I had fallen into, my eyes slowly opened to see a passed out Stiles with his mouth slightly open I chuckled quietly and reached for his phone, Scott was calling. I answered it quickly, "Hello?" My voice thick from sleep. "Y/N? Why do you have Stiles' s phone?" Asked Scott to which I rolled my eyes. "Am I not good enough to answer Stiles's phone?" I asked then laughed a little, "Sorry to disappoint you but Stiles is like passed out right now and I was the one who was conscious enough to answer. So what's up Alpha?" I joked, but Scott didn't laugh. "Isaac is awake and he's asking for you actually. Do you know Isaac at all?" Scott inquired carefully. "Why is he asking for me? I honestly only met him once because he was in a class of mine but other than I have no clue why he'd want to see me." I replied, trying to think of anything I might've missed. "I need you to come down to the clinic, he keeps screaming out your name and his eyes are changing from black to yellow," Scott exclaimed, I was already getting out of bed and walking out the door of my room by the time Scott was done. "Okay, I'm on my way, what should I do about Stiles?" I paused looking back to see Stiles in the same position from earlier. "Just leave him there, he'll be fine." Scott answered then hung up. I nodded my head unconsciously, and placed Stiles's phone on my table then left the house. When I got to the clinic I felt like there was a strong negative force surrounding it, I could feel it as I opened the car door slowly making my way out of it. The energy crackled around me making the hairs on my arms stand up. Something wasn't right and I didn't want to be here but I trudged on making my way through the back doors of the clinic. "Scott?" I called out carefully. "In here." Scott yelled back. Deaton and Scott were standing by where Isaac was tied down on the table. It was almost as if Isaac sensed that I was there because in an instant his pale eye lids opened, his eyes were black. "So you came? You stupid girl," Isaacs voice didn't sound like him, he scared me to my core but I kept my façade from showing my fear. "Who are you? What have you done to Isaac?" I asked emotionlessly. "He's gone. I'm here now." replied the thing inside Isaac. "Who are you then? Why did you want me to come here?" I asked inquisitively cocking my head to the side. "Ah, Ah, Ah I'm not going to reveal all my secrets. If you want an answer then you're going to do something for me in return," said the stranger in Isaacs body. "I doubt you're in any condition to make demands," I paused to look at the restraints that held him down then continued, "I'm pretty sure you're the one tied down right now not me." I had no idea where this sudden confidence came from but I was glad that it came. "I don't think you understand how little control you think you have over me. I can break these restraints right now and kill your friends here. I have no need for them all I need is you." The black holes that were his eyes narrowed. "Look, I don't care who you think you are or how powerful you think you are, whatever it is you think you want I can promise you I can't help you." He then started to laugh maniacally, "Oh child, you don't even know what you are yet. This is perfect!" The man exclaimed. "You must be confusing me with someone else, I have one of those faces you know, I get mistaken with other people quite a bit." The nervousness was slowly creeping it's way into my expression. My façade was falling quickly, I needed to gain back whatever control I had in the beginning. "You're Y/N, Y/L/N daughter to Y/D/N are you not?" I stared back at him and nodded slowly egging him to continue, "Then you're exactly who I came back for. You will be mine," He laughed. "Like hell she'll be yours," A familiar voice said behind me. Sure enough there stood Stiles who was slightly panting. A growl sounded erupted from Isaac, I ignored it as I was still looking at Stiles. I kind of expected him to show up but I didn't expect it to be so soon, I have to admit I was glad to see the dimwit, I gave him a small smile before turning back to Stiles. "You better tell your boy toy to get out of here, or else he and his friends die, my child," he spat. "First of all I'm not your child, second I don't belong to you and lastly he isn't my boy toy he's not even my friend I barely know him. Like I said earlier you're not in a position to make demands." I lied, I couldn't bring myself look at Isaac in the eyes because it would be a dead give away how much I really cared about this boy. My body felt different, I felt all tingly like something was coursing through my veins. The tips of my fingers felt prickly and warm, I rubbed my fingers together trying to rid myself of the feeling. "Oh is that so?" All of sudden Stiles dropped to the ground choking on whatever Isaac was doing to him, I ran to him and I fell to my knees, Isaac chuckled darkly. "Stop! Please stop?" I yelled. "Oh child, I'm just getting started," He smiled evilly, then Scott and Deaton fell to the ground gasping for air. I looked around the room to see these people that I had once considered strangers lying on the floor, Stiles was turning purple, Scott's alpha eyes were glowing, Deaton was in a similar position as Stiles. I don't know how but the tingly feeling got worse, it felt as though it was being rushed through my veins and I felt hot. I stood up onto my feet, this strange feeling taking over and I wasn't in control of what I did next. "You will stop this or I will make you," I demanded. When he didn't make a move to stop killing them, something erupted from within me taking over, it was almost like I was taking a backseat ride in my own body. I could hear my voice say something in a foreign language, "Hola dimoni, ha estat molt de temps,"(hello demon it's been a long time). I began speaking in a foreign tongue but I oddly knew what I was saying. Isaacs eyes widened with surprise, I proceeded to say, "Deixar als nens anar o pateixen les conseqüències. Tots dos sabem que sóc més gran que tu," (Let the children go or suffer the consequences. We both know I'm older than you). He laughs, he actually laughs at this comment as Stiles and everyone is being strangled to death, We need to do something. The part of me that had taken over seemed to acknowledge that fact. My hands felt hot and tingly "I only need your vessel, I could care less of these mortals," Isaac explained smugly. "Well you won't be happy with what I do next then," I said forcefully. I could feel this build up of energy within me waiting to burst at the seams. He didn't seem to understand what I meant until I muttered some phrases that could only be described as incantations, my hands started moving out of their own accord. At first my fingertips became stiff and kind of contorted but as I kept muttering phrases my hands became outstretched an flowy. Isaac started gasping for breath and screaming insults in languages I didn't even know, his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he collapsed on the table. When I was done everyone that was on the ground were gasping for air, except for Stiles, his face was blue. There was a tinge of panic but this new part of me wasn't worried, I walked over to him and knelt down as I whispered some phrases I apparently knew. I closed my eyes then I rubbed my hands together until they were red and warm, I then place one hand over his stomach, the other over his head connecting himself to me. My mouth moved on its own accord, I felt the warmth and energy from my hands flow into his body. The energy surrounded us like a force field, I could almost taste it and feel it around us. When I finished Stiles's body was still for a second then he turned to the side coughing for air. I gave a sigh of relief that he was okay, Scott ran over and helped Stiles up. I tried to stand up but as soon as I had my feet under me, things got blurry then it all went black. All I heard was Stiles scream for me and I was gone.
Okay loves, I know this chapter took forever and I'm sorry,  I'm doing my best. Thank you for being patient (:

Excessively Detailed Headcanon Meme YOU GOTTA DO ALL OF EM FOR SINK PLEASE RAE pls also have i mentioned that i love u lately
GEEZ FRIEND THAT’S A LOT OKAY UH
What does their bedroom look like? Covered in books and succulents and flowers/pretty rocks/spell ingredients in jars. She probably has one of those poster beds and dries bundles of nice-smelling herbs on the top of them so she can fall asleep to the smell of lavender. I can see her room being messy and cluttered in a Howl’s Moving Castle kinda way
Do they have any daily rituals? She likes to walk her garden at least once a day, and tries to read at least a few pages of whatever book she’s working through.
Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often? I can’t see her exercising anything but her mind tbh
What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy? She’s so used to living alone that she probably would need to adjust to the ‘there’s someone else in my kitchen’ thing first but she’d probably just kinda wait for them to be done in lieu of saying anything
Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.) lmao she’s a messy witch there’s spell ingredients and chalk marks and books EVERYWHERE but her clothing is always immaculate.
Eating habits and sample daily menu Uh I can only really picture her daily habits as an objecthead and they don’t eat sorry. If she is cooking for herself she probs enjoys easy things, or things she can grow herself.
Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time She doesn’t feel like a time waster, more an idler. She may drift through towns or cities without really interacting with anyone or anything, leaving early and taking the last train home, mostly due to the feeling of having nothing else to do and wanting to be surrounded by the world for a while
Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging Fuck man i dunno she likes novels a lot and sometimes will spend the whole day reading, only to crash into bed at 7am and sleep it off
Makeup? She used to try to cover her burn scars but it got too tedious (plus they reach down to her hands and wearing makeup on your hands is just ugh). She doesn’t like people looking at her face so she doesn’t really wear any.
Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such? uhhhh well she has the feeling that people don’t really like her/people are staring at her but idk if that would be a Neuroses
Intellectual pursuits? She is always trying to twist magic in unique ways and create new spells
Favorite book genre? Romantic Fantasy
Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general? She is like the one oc i was hoping would be gay yet ended up surprisingly straight. She doesn’t give much thought to orientations in general (also she’s fuckin thick as a vault door when it comes to relationships and/or seeing other people’s romantic feelings for others and/or herself) but just happens to be attracted to Male-leaning individuals
Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.) She’s got a big burn scar down half of her body, extending up to the left side of her face and down that shoulder/arm/hand/side. It’s mostly scar tissue now but it’s lighter than her normal skintone and thus very obvious, at least to her.
Biggest and smallest short term goal? biggest - to somehow convince Quet to keep coming over even after her debt is paid. smallest - to not get her balloon snagged on anything
Biggest and smallest long term goal? biggest - to somehow achieve the level of human attachment she sees around her. Smallest - To grow the most beautiful garden(tm)
Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress She loves pretty dresses and skirts and always wears tights (they used to cover the burns on her legs, now it’s just a habit). She always has the moon amulet around her neck and enjoys dramatic coats and scarves
Favorite beverage? idk why but ‘hot cocoa’ popped into my head
What do they think about before falling asleep at night? The stars. Books she’s read recently. Spells she wants to try. Hex.
Childhood illnesses? Any interesting stories behind them? I can’t really think of any? idk I haven’t thought much into her childhood except that she used to look up to witches in media. I’m sure at some point she got a stomach bug and spent two weeks marathoning harry potter and watching mary poppins on repeat
Turn-ons? Turn-offs? lmao i was gonna say she’s a sapiosexual but honestly even she’s not that pretentious. She does enjoy an intellectual conversation though. Turn-offs would be essentially anything crass or bigoted i suppose
Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen? I imagine some sort of list or plan or recipe would end up on the piece of paper, or multiple at different angles across the page
How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life? Not at all and yet they spend a surprisingly small amount of time actually looking for things. She knows where things are even if they’re sprawled everywhere.
Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all? they care a LOT about intellectual pursuits and especially magical ones, they enjoy evocations and transmutations
How do they see themselves 5 years from today? Probably in the same situation in the next town over
Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout? Honestly her plans are ‘exist in one place for as long as is convenient, leave as soon as you get the feeling people are growing tired of you’
What is their biggest regret? The botched spell that scarred her
Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy? Best friend - Quet. Worst Enemy- probably Run.
Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (eg The house is on fire! What do they do?) MAGIC
Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies) DENIAL
Most prized possession? Her wand
Thoughts on material possessions in general? I mean she has mostly fleeting things- plants live and die, ingredients are used up. The most static thing she has are the amulet, her wand and her books, and none of these hold any extrinsic value
Concept of home and family? She doesn’t have a very strong one. Home is where she is, family is who she’s related to. It takes her a while to accept the family that found her more recently
Thoughts on privacy? (Are they a private person, or are they prone to ‘TMI’?) She’s very good at accidentally diving head-first into other people’s private lives, bc she has 0 experience with social cues
What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time? I don’t know if they consider anything they do to be a waste of time tbh
What makes them feel guilty? When they accidentally cross a line they didn’t know was there, and end up pushing people away because of it
Are they more analytical or more emotional in their decision-making? DEFINITELY analytical
Would they consider themselves a Type A or Type B personality? Uhh I’m mostly blanking but i think type B?
What recharges them when they’re feeling drained? Introvert time in the garden/tending to succulents
Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither? Superiority, definitely
How misanthropic are they? I have done 40 questions and I’m not ashamed to say i cannot recall the definition of misanthropic and am not going to look it up good day
Hobbies? Reading, gardening, making spell jars and hanging pots
How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education? She got pretty far in formal education (college at least) but sees no difference in where one gets their knowledge if they have it
Religion? I know a passing knowledge of wicca and paganism and I think Paganism? I really need to do more reading about it whoops
Superstitions or views on the occult? lmao she’s a witch my man
Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds? words, because they don’t know how else to.
If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal? *sideeyes @roseisfrommars‘s Hex* that one
How do they express love? Through quality time and small gestures, and tripping over words of admiration
If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like? lmao wands out and enchantments flying she’s not using her fists
Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not? girl she ded. she highkey already ded.

Yesterday was a mutual day off for Boarfeathers and I, so naturally, we completely shirked our normal cleaning related chores for the day and decided to do spring-related things in the yard. We actually got quite a bit done! We spent most of our time laying out new garden beds and path markers.
One good thing about living in the Rocky Mountains. There's no shortage of rocks. Most of these came from digging trenches for the foundation of the chicken coop last year.
Project #1 for this summer is the herb spiral. We've been wanting to do a spiral bed AND an herb garden since before we moved into this house, and finally, we decided to combine them into one project. To quote Boarfeathers favorite taco shell commercial, "Why not both?". It's even a perfect fit less than 20 feet from the kitchen, which for me and my love for cooking is just awesome. It's also rather close to the beehive, which will be good for them given some of the stuff we'll be growing in here.
We're also planning a full shade garden. Our front yard is the ideal place for this, as it gets very little sun and has no grass to remove before we start. Unfortunately, living on top of the hill as we do, that means snow. LOTS of snow. And right now, the front yard is buried under a mound of ice near 18 inches deep. Right now, that lack of sun so ideal for a shade garden is the bane of my existance. I started hacking away at the mound to free it up and help it melt, but I did not get far. Tsavo tried to help with the digging, but alas, he was little help at all.
We managed to plot out the fence line and path for our front yard (best to keep the pooch away from the bees and all that!) using fallen branches from one of our cottonwoods. Well, we had to pick them up anyways, so why not make some use of them before they go to the kindling bucket? Again, Tsavo tried to help. He's crazy smart, and will pick up items on command and bring them to you. But these weren't just any items, they were STICKS, and STICKS mean PLAYTIME. So again, he tried, but he wasn't all that helpful. We love him anyways.
We ended the day by turning the kitchen into a makeshift greenhouse. I just got the darn thing spotless, and what do we do? Open a bag of dirt in the middle of the floor. Go us! We started up some general kitchen herbs, some basil, some lavender, LOTS of thyme, and of course a tomato plant. We live too high to grow tomatoes outside, even in the summer, but I'll be damned if I'm not gonna grow tomatoes! It will just have to keep me company in the kitchen! But most importantly, we started one of potentially several pots of potatoes. We've grown potatoes before, and had mixed results based on where we lived and how we grew them, but we've always had at least ONE potato at harvest. I picked this style up from a video flying around facebook. It looked very clever to me, and hey, I'll try anything once! We will definitely document these little suckers while they grow, and hope for the best!
I really like this style, and hope it works as well as the video suggests. We can't grow potatoes in our soil because the soil isn't great for roots (hence the raised garden beds for everything else), so if potting potatoes works, then it's perfect for us! But I also think this style is something anyone can try, even in an apartment! I mean, all you need is a pot! Well, two pots. If you think you'd like to try your hand at potatoes, you can HOPEFULLY still find this video here: https://www.facebook.com/buzzfeedniftyoutdoors/videos/207311769745682/
And be careful with those box cutters, kids. I wasn't exactly being smart with mine, and while I didn't hack my leg open or anything (leg protection wins!) I did give both of us a scare when my knife came loose and bounced across the back of my hand. I admit it, I will be careful around others when I have a knife but I kind of forget to be smart about my OWN health when I'm using them. No serious injuries, just a scratch, but Boarfeathers offered up a Star Wars bandaid to make me stop laughing. It didn't work.
These are just some of the projects we're starting on, and only a small bit of what we'll be trying this summer. Cheers until next time!
Sargassos
